Résumé :
Based on historical analysis of the scientific literature, the paper demonstrates the role, importance, and necessity of developing the female scientific potential in the Russian state and society. The sphere of young students' scientific interests has been identified and substantiated with gender consideration. Similarly, possibilities of optimizing the potential of young students have been found with gender-specific aspects borne in mind. In the research, the authors used theoretical and empirical methods of collecting information about the scientific potential of Russian women. An entire range of problems (causes) has been found which prevent the potential of Russian women from being completely fulfilled in science. Principal conditions and mechanisms have been examined which help optimize the development of the scientific potential of young higher educational institution students with gender consideration. The obtained conclusions highlight the necessity of optimizing the female potential in the country's scientific activity in the most diverse focus areas.

Résumé :
Abstract Introduction. Convenience in various aspects of life in fact does not guarantee people to live happier. Every year around the world around one million people die from suicide. One of the most consistent findings in suicide research is that women make more suicide attempts (tentament suicide) than men. This research is the first research and conducted as an effort to increase the awareness of all medical potentials of young women to commit suicide. Methods. This research was a qualitative research with in-depth interview approach to respondents. The subjects of this study were patients with a diagnosis of tentamen suicide who consulted the Cattleya Consultation Center, Palembang, Indonesia. Results. All subjects with a tendency to commit suicide were female (100%) with a young age, ie the youngest age was 16 years and the oldest was 28 years. Women at this age are classified as young and productive age. It was found that most of the patients had avoidant personality traits (43%). In addition, the factors that triggered the emergence of tentamen suicide in some respondents were social and environmental factors (44%), namely in the form of friendship factors (peer groups), and the experience of bullying. Conclusion. Young women have the potential to do tentamen suicide.

Résumé :
In the face of record levels of youth unemployment and starkly unequal opportunities to climb the socioeconomic ladder, young people are facing difficult challenges. From early childhood to young adulthood, there are several key obstacles to socioeconomic mobility that emerge. These include availability of early childhood education, level of peer support during adolescence, secondary school funding and quality, and skills development and job matching as a young adult. This article explores the dynamics of these critical obstacles, analyzes initiatives that are successfully helping young people overcome these obstacles around the world, and makes policy suggestions to create a society in which young people have strong opportunities to fulfill their potentials and advance socioeconomically. The article focuses on the state of socioeconomic mobility of young people in the United States, drawing on examples of successful models from all over the globe.

Résumé :
Countries strive to upgrade their civil service quality in many directions, thus responding to major contemporary challenges and following the trends of open innovation. The 2030 civil servant will require a wide set of soft and hard skills that are not common among the today’s public administrators but are attributable to young people. The following questions then arise: Will the demand for qualified civil servants be reduced because of optimization of public administration processes? How significant is the demand for young people by the civil service? Is civil service attractive as a vector of career development among young people? The research objective is to provide quantity estimates of the Russian civil service’s hiring potential and to match that potential with young people’s attitude towards public administration employment. Using the panel regression, regions that can expand the civil service staff were identified and the necessary preconditions and policies to take use of this potential were indicated. The main conclusion is that governments should maintain incentives to join the civil service and improve the image of civil service among the youth to make it an attractive employer.

Résumé :
The socio-psychological situation in Ukraine has undergone significant changes. A global pandemic, harsh quarantine measures, war, insufficient public information, stigmatization of public opinion, high risks to public health – have all created a new psychosocial reality of life for both adults and young people. It is obvious that these problems and their manifestation in totality have affected young people’s life in various aspects. An anonymous voluntary survey of high school teachers conducted in 10 schools in different regions of Ukraine (Prykarpattia, Central and Northern) revealed a decrease in student activity (360 students aged 14-17) by 40% (attendance, willingness to learn and participate in educational activities), significantly reduced success (by 35%) during the distance learning period. The parents’ survey results show that young people’s feelings of fear (89%), anxiety (84%), aggression (58%), and depression (52%) are significant. A study of the structural characteristics’ of the specific manifestations of young people’s psychological potential was conducted between 2016-2020 which involved 2022 participants on a voluntary, anonymous basis. The young people’s psychological potential comprised the following components: motivational, emotional, value, and behavioral. The results showed a 40% decline in indexes on average over 2020-2021. A 4-stage young people’s psychological potential actualization model focusing on diagnostic, psycho-corrective, formative, and recreational-assertive aspects was developed based on the “Children`s Camp Zefir” recreation program and the adolescents’ psychological center “Alternative”. The model, implemented for the second year 2021-2022, currently displays significant results for increasing psychological indicators.

Understanding branding as endowing the territory with additional value senses, the authors determine the motives and potential of youth participation in this sociocultural process. A survey of young people conducted in the cities of Poland, Romania, Armenia, Russia and a series of case studies in these countries allows us to determine the resource of young people from different countries in city branding. The case about the volunteers of the Ural Night of Music confirms the authors’ hypothesis that the value bases of this activity, adequately identified by specialists, can influence the completeness of the realization of the youth resources and the degree of their involvement in brand building events and projects.

Résumé :
Subdural hemorrhage is a key imaging finding in cases of abusive head trauma and one that many radiologists and radiology trainees become familiar with during their years of training. Although it may prove to be a marker of trauma in a young child or infant that presents without a history of injury, the parenchymal insults in these young patients more often lead to the debilitating and sometimes devastating outcomes observed in this young population. It is important to recognize these patterns of parenchymal injuries and how they may differ from the imaging findings in other cases of traumatic injury in young children. In addition, these parenchymal insults may serve as another significant, distinguishing feature when making the medical diagnosis of abusive head injury while still considering alternative diagnoses, including accidental injury. Therefore, as radiologists, we must strive to look beyond the potential cranial injury or subdural hemorrhage for the sometimes more subtle but significant parenchymal insults in abuse.

Résumé :
Purpose This paper aims to examine branding strategies directed at child consumers, used by six high fat, sugar and salt food brands across three different digital marketing platforms. It identifies brand relationship building potential in this digital context. Design/methodology/approach This study analyses the contents of branded mobile phone applications, branded websites (including advergames) and branded Facebook sites to understand the nature of young consumer–brand relationship strategies that marketers are developing in this digital media marketing environment. Findings The use of sophisticated integrated branding strategies in immersive online media creates the potential for marketers to build relationships between young consumers and brands at an interactive, direct and social level not seen in traditional media. Categories of relationships and brand tactics are identified as outcomes of this analysis and linked to brand relationship building potential. Research limitations/implications The results suggest that branded communication strategies that food companies use in the online environment are creating conditions that appeal to young consumers, fostering new ways to build brand relationships. As this is a dynamic medium in a fluid state of change, this exploratory study identifies and categorises the marketing strategy, but not the young consumers’ response to such branding strategies (a limitation). Originality/value This study details the potential for child–brand relationship building in the context of online branding environments. It identifies the potential for longer-term effects of embedded advertising directly to young consumers, within and across three digital media platforms.

Résumé :
Abstract. There has been an unprecedented increase in the number of research studies employing event-related potential (ERP) techniques to examine dynamic and rapidly occurring neural processes with children during the preschool and early childhood years. Despite this, there has been relatively little discussion of the methodological and procedural differences that exist for studies of young children versus older children and adults. That is, reviewers, editors, and consumers of this work often expect developmental studies to simply apply adult techniques and procedures to younger samples. Procedurally, this creates unrealistic expectations for research paradigms, data collection, and data reduction and analyses. Scientifically, this leads to inappropriate measures and methods that hinder drawing conclusions and advancing theory. Based on ERP work with preschoolers and young children from 10 laboratories across North America, we present a summary of the most common ERP components under study in the area of emotion and cognition in young children along with 13 realistic expectations for data collection and loss, laboratory procedures and paradigms, data processing, ERP averaging, and typical challenges for conducting this type of work. This work is intended to supplement previous guidelines for work with adults and offer insights to aid researchers, reviewers, and editors in the design and evaluation of developmental research using ERPs. Here we make recommendations for researchers who plan to conduct or who are conducting ERP studies in children between ages 2 and 12 years, focusing on studies of toddlers and preschoolers. Recommendations are based on both data and our cumulative experience and include guidelines for laboratory setup, equipment and recording settings, task design, and data processing.

Résumé :
Self-compassion has demonstrated many psychological benefits (Neff, 2009). In an effort to explore self-compassion as a potential resource for young women athletes, we explored relations among self-compassion, proneness to self-conscious emotions (i.e., shame, guilt-free shame, guilt, shame-free guilt, authentic pride, and hubristic pride), and potentially unhealthy self-evaluative thoughts and behaviors (i.e., social physique anxiety, obligatory exercise, objectified body consciousness, fear of failure, and fear of negative evaluation). Young women athletes (N = 151; Mage = 15.1 years) participated in this study. Self-compassion was negatively related to shame proneness, guilt-free shame proneness, social physique anxiety, objectified body consciousness, fear of failure, and fear of negative evaluation. In support of theoretical propositions, self-compassion explained variance beyond self-esteem on shame proneness, guilt-free shame proneness, shame-free guilt proneness, objectified body consciousness, fear of failure, and fear of negative evaluation. Results suggest that, in addition to self-esteem promotion, self-compassion development may be beneficial in cultivating positive sport experiences for young women.

Résumé :
Background. As basketball constantly evolves, physical performance becomes more and more important. Physical fitness assessments are the most reliable way to find out at what level a basketball player is prepared to perform. Therefore, the main aim of this research was to determine if the speed, agility and power of under-16-year-old (U16) basketball players is related to their playing positions. Methods. The study included (n = 40) young basketball (aged 14.99 ± 0.84 years) players. The variables included height, body mass, body mass index (BMI), fat-free mass (FFM), the percentage of body fat (BF%), the counter movement jump (CMJ), counter movement jump with free arms (CMJ free arms), squat jump (SJ), 5m, 10m, 15m and 20m sprints, T-test, Illinois test and 505 test. Results. The results showed that centers are taller and heavier than other positions, while the speed, agility and power of forwards are greater than other positions. Conclusions. At the youth basketball level there are differences in anthropometric and physical fitness testing results between positions. This supports the fact that athletes may be more likely to be selected for a given position based on how their anthropometric and athletic abilities pair with the demands of a given position. Keywords: body composition; physical testing; playing position; performance.

Résumé :
In the brain, aging is accompanied by cellular and functional deficiencies that promote vulnerability to neurodegenerative disorders. In blood plasma from young and old animals, various factors such as growth differentiation factor 11 (GDF11), whose levels are elevated in young animals, have been identified. The blood concentrations of these factors appear to be inversely correlated with the age-related decline of neurogenesis. The identification of GDF11 as a “rejuvenating factor” opens up perspectives for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. As a pro-neurogenic and pro-angiogenic agent, GDF11 may constitute a basis for novel therapeutic strategies.

Résumé :
The Nikkeijin in Japan mostly work in unskilled positions in manufacturing, and due to unfavourable terms ofemployment, they have little chance of upward socio-economic mobility. Although many of their children do notperform well in Japanese schools and they drop out, some Nikkei children do continue their education and attenduniversity in Japan. This paper focuses on the small minority who further their education but have received littleattention in the literature. From interviews conducted with young Nikkeijin who are at university or have graduatedfrom university, the author found that they are bicultural and bilingual (or trilingual, in Portuguese, Japanese andEnglish). These talented young people have the potential to contribute to Japan in unique ways because of theirlanguage and cultural skills. The author argues that providing more support for the Nikkeijin’s education will not onlyimprove their socio-economic mobility, but also help to alleviate the deficiency of skilled workers caused by therapid aging and decline of the Japanese population.

Résumé :
One of the key support mechanisms for research in universities is national scientific foundations, which often represent the main source of funding. However, the capacity of young universities to compete in national foundations’ calls is severely limited due to fierce competition and high qualification barriers. This hinders young universities’ chances to raise research funding and strengthens the Matthew effect. The establishment of proprietary research support infrastructure, in particular, internal research support funds may contribute to the development of human resources and reduce the qualification gap between young universities and classical or research-oriented ones. The purpose of the article is to analyze the practices of creating research support mechanisms in young universities. The study addresses the establishment of the Research and Development Fund at the North-West Institute of Management of RANEPA. We analyze the organizational model of the fund and the algorithm of the application campaign using the pilot call for funding literature reviews as an illustrative example. The main contribution of the article is a detailed description of the model of organizational processes of the fund and the management practices that support it. The article may be relevant for research managers of young universities and university branches, as well as for researchers interested in studying research support mechanisms.

Résumé :
In this article, we have considered the complex problem of developing and realizing the potential of young people in the light of the challenges that arise in the modern world. Young people are a vulnerable social group for whom state and local support is essential. Problems in employment can shake the incentive for young people to develop their potential. We investigated the impact of educational and social space on the development of one of the components of youth potential - potential in event management. We emphasized that the development of this component can be a good impetus for intensifying the entrepreneurial activity of young people. However, youth employment and entrepreneurship in event management need care from the state and intensification of informal social control mechanisms. We have formed recommendations that will allow integrating the processes of social development and development of youth potential in event management. This work can be helpful for public authorities, educational institutions and public organizations.

Résumé :
We examined calls produced by the solitary bat Lasiurus cinereus during mother–young interactions and considered the potential for vocal signatures in the calls of the young. Families of bats were observed in the field at Delta Marsh, Manitoba, and vocalizations were recorded using high-speed ultrasonic recording equipment. Adult female bats and young vocalize primarily during reunions. Variation in duration and maximum and minimum frequency of the calls of young was calculated. The degree of call variation within L. cinereus family units was relatively high and calls produced by different young could not be differentiated. These observations suggest that a vocal signature, which is present in some colonial species of bats such as Myotis lucifugus and which allows auditory discrimination between calling young, is less likely to occur in L. cinereus.

Résumé :
Abstract β-Guanidinopropionic acid (β-GPA) is a naturally occurring compound reported to activate AMP Activated Protein Kinase (AMPK) signaling in vivo. Acute administration of β-GPA in young animals has been reported to improve multiple functional measures including a switch to oxidative fatigue-resistant muscle fibers, improved glucose uptake, and increased mitochondrial biogenesis. However, it is unknown if β-GPA may promote healthy aging or prevent late-life functional decline. To address this knowledge gap, we tested the effects of β-GPA on mitochondrial energetics and cellular function in young and old genetically heterogenous mice (HET3). Both age groups were fed either 1% β-GPA or control chow for ~5 months and basic functional parameters including metabolism were assessed. β-GPA treatment decreased lean and fat mass in young males, but prevented late-life losses in these parameters in old animals. Notably, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels were lower in treated young and old males suggesting improved glucose homeostasis. Citrate synthase activity was also higher in old males fed β-GPA suggesting increased mitochondrial biogenesis. At the molecular level, mitochondrial Complex I expression decreased with β-GPA treatment in old males versus controls. High resolution respirometry revealed generally decreased respiration in old animals compared to young and decreased Complex 1 coupled respiration in soleus of β-GPA treated young but not old males. These findings indicate that the mitochondrial effects attributed to β-GPA may be mediated by its action on Complex I. While treatment outcomes varied in young and old males these results suggest β-GPA may prove beneficial in combating age-related declines in function.

Résumé :
Аbstract. The current situation of the crisis state of various spheres of life of our compatriots makes such characteristics of a competitive individual as success, mobility, flexibility in decision making more and more popular. Perfectionism, previously studied as a personality trait responsible for the pursuit of excellence, is a state that can determine the course of thoughts and actions of a person, as well as change under the influence of circumstances or over time (since there is always the possibility of transition from one state to another, while that at any moment of being this or that state determines the further destiny of a person). Highlight perfectionist aspirations that are associated with the positive aspects of perfectionism, and perfectionist anxiety associated with maladaptive behavior. It is shown that only perfectionist anxiety has a direct correlation with perception of stress at work, while perfectionist aspirations do not have such a correlation. In adolescence, the pursuit of excellence is especially important, since at this time a hierarchy of values and authenticity (identity) are built, the search for ones place in life starts the activity of creating conditions for the realization of personal potential. Therefore, the main direction of medical and psychological support for young people is the formation of adequate self-esteem and self-reliance, which allows them to know the characteristics of their personality, receive feedback (both from peers and from socially significant individuals),work out their I in simulated conditions, and thereby increase the effectiveness of the psychological correction of non- adaptive forms of perfectionism, because the positive aspects of perfectionist attitudes are a potential development potential for young people one hundred.

Résumé :
In view of the intensification of the depopulation trend in our country it is necessary to implement modern and efficient programs of population policy. Creation of effective programs of population policy requires knowing of all aspects of existing pronatal potentials and possible restrictive factors. One such aspect is the evaluation of the reproductive function among young people, bearers of the future natality trends. The work describes and discusses the attitude of the young toward the reproductive function. Also it is concerned with certain factors that can impair the importance and impact of pronatal potentials conditioned by highly valued reproductive function. As the most important one, we singled out the set of factors concerning psychological price of parenthood, especially with women, in view of the competitive-conflicting action of modern woman. Also, an account was given of the potential influence of patrilinearity as of a restrictive factor of pronatal movements.

Résumé :
Preservation and enhancement of national values — is the main goal of the work according to the implementation of the program «Rukhani Zhangyru». The program «Rukhani Zhangyru» is a new stage in the historical development of modern Kazakhstan. The modernization of the public consciousness of each individual involves a revision of the young people's attitude to themselves in order to achieve success in their professional activities and consolidate their competitiveness. At the same time, it is important to preserve all the positive experience that has accumulated over the centuries, the peculiarities of the people and the country, in this process and education plays a system-forming role. Today in Kazakhstan, the issue of promoting values in the student environment, developing young people's feelings of belonging to the present and past of the Motherland, responsibility for its future is acute, but the potential of the educational space in the implementation of this process is not fully disclosed. In the conditions of the changed educational space of these states, the process of forming a new generation of socially active, responsible for the development and preservation of spiritual values of young citizens with all the values put forward by the states is relevant. In order to determine the initial level of formation of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among Kazakhstani students, there was organized an online survey among students and teachers of Kazakhstani universities using the Google Form. The significance of this survey lies in the possibility of stating the initial state of the formation of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among Kazakhstani students. In turn, these results will be the starting point for determining the content of promoting the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» in Kazakhstan's universities. the survey confirmed the need to activate the process of socialization of students. Our idea is to ensure the consistency of the educational process through its integration into the content of educational disciplines. In this aspect, the promotion of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among students needs to find methodological solutions and strategies that are the subject of further work within the project. The expected results will contribute to the promotion of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among students.

Résumé :
Hispanic children experience poverty at rates two to three times higher than white children. Latino households with children, in general, have high parental employment coupled with low levels of parental education and stagnant parental earnings relative to non-Latino peers. While many Latino children live in neighborhoods that do not have access to high-quality early education, Latino children, on average, are raised in a home environment that offers economic stability and security, the presence of two parents, and socially supported family and community networks. Furthermore, though Hispanic children’s school achievement outcomes lag behind those of their peers, their socio-emotional developmental outcomes are on the same level or better. Latino children are raised in environments with the ingredients needed to achieve their potential. We use this foundation to propose a strength-based framework for guiding policy investment on Latino children and families.
