Texte intégralStereoscopy has developed since 1838 through photography, movies, virtual reality andscientific visualization. Stereoscopic displays have increased in quality since the first stereoscope andstereoscopic content is now widely available. Furthermore, the understanding of 3D models is greatlyeased by stereoscopy, in particular for educational purposes or medical data visualization. The messageconveyed by an image is also further held by stereoscopy. Used in an artistic way, stereoscopy can bean important emotional vector.However, the depth interval of a stereoscopic image is limited by the displays technologies as well asthe human visual system. It is thus still difficult to create stereoscopic content ensuring a comfortableexperience to the viewer while using stereoscopy appropriately. To overcome this limitation, severalmethods have been developed, in particular to ease stereo image acquisition, but a great amount ofmanual work still remains. Moreover, stereoscopic content manipulation requires specific tools, whichare still to define. Finally, many stereoscopic display methods are available, with some more appropriateto specific viewing conditions than others.This thesis was conducted in this context, with the following contributions : the definition of a stereoscopicuser interaction model designed for a desktop environment, a new depth editing method ensuringthe viewer’s comfort and a new way to create single-image stereo using chromo-stereoscopy

Texte intégralThe aim of this study is to supply the doctor with new diagnostic aid tools in the field of breast pathologies. In order to reach this goal, we propose to take advantage of the information provided by ultrasonic and mammographic investigations in two innovative techniques. The first one consists to combine the complementary or redundant data of the two imaging modalities. The second technique allows the stereoscopic visualisation of the ultrasonic data. A device dedicated to in vivo acquisition of breast data has been developed. It allows the acquisition of a 3D ultrasonic volume and a radiography of a same volume of interest in the breast. A conical projection of the ultrasonic volume and the registration of this projection with the corresponding mammography is computed. The segmentation of some breast tumors is realised by the data fusion of the ultrasonic projection with the mammography using fuzzy logic. When microcalcifications are present on the mammography, they are extracted and superimposed on the fusion image. The detection of microcalcifications requires the use of β-splines functions and fuzzy segmentation. Two conical projections of the 3D ultrasonic volume computed under two slightly different points of view provide a pair of ultrasonic stereoscopie images. Such stereoscopie pairs of breast tumors have been computed and visualised. They allow the observation of the 3D shape and the position of lesions in the breast and the realisation of volumetric measurements on lesions

Texte intégralThis work presents the development and the application of a velocimetry method for measuring the three components of the velocity. The Stereoscopic Particles Image Velocimetry technique is employed to study the flow around a surface-mounted block. The model of camera makes it possible to take into account the distortions. The 3D calibration-based reconstruction method is carried out by triangulation. The in-situ estimation of the accuracy are studied in angular-displacement configuration. The three-dimensionality and instationarity of vortex structures are highlighted with the help of this 3D instantaneous measurements, correlations and the POD. For the established flow, the topology, the dynamics and the evolution of the vortices are detailed. A numerical-experiment comparison is undertaken in order to validate a DNS simulation. The birth and the development of the vortices in the early stage of the flow are analysed with a topological study and the 3D instantaneous velocity field

Texte intégralSoftware must continuously evolve and integrate more functionalities to remain useful. Consequently, more than 60% of a software system's cost is related to maintenance. To reduce this cost, programming must performed faster, witch leads to a decrease of the system code's quality. Therefore, understanding software evolution is becoming a necessity to prevent code decay and to increase the system life span. To ease software understanding, we perform a cross analysis of the historical data extracted from a version control system, with quantitative data that we obtain from the source code. However, the significant amount of data generated by this kind of analysis makes it necessary to have tools to support the maintainer’s analysis. First, tools help because examining them manually is impossible. Second, they help because automatics methods are not accurate enough. We present a new semiautomatic approach to help analysis. Our 3D visualization system, Eyes Of Darwin, uses a cityscape metaphor to show software's evolution on a single view. It integrates an occlusion reduction system, witch turns the screen to an open window on the 3D world. We conclude, with an exploratory study in order to validate our approach.
