This paper constitutes the first attempt to bridge the evolutionary theory in economics and the theory of active particles in mathematics. It seeks to present a kinetic model for an evolutionary formalization of economic dynamics. The new derived mathematical representation intends to formalize the processes of learning and selection as the two fundamental drivers of evolutionary environments [G. Dosi, M.-C. Pereira and M.-E. Virgillito, The footprint of evolutionary processes of learning and selection upon the statistical properties of industrial dynamics, Ind. Corp. Change, 26 (2017) 187–210]. To coherently represent the aforementioned properties, the kinetic theory of active particles [N. Bellomo, A. Bellouquid, L. Gibelli and N. Outada, A Quest Towards a Mathematical Theory of Living Systems (Birkhäuser-Springer, 2017)] is here further developed, including the complex interaction of two hierarchical functional subsystems. Modeling and simulations enlighten the predictive ability of the approach. Finally, we outline the potential avenues for future research.

Nascido em Villa Littorio, sul da Itália, Sergio Romanelli mudou-se para o Brasil em 1998. Na Bahia, morou com tios e primos maternos, onde buscou aperfeiçoar o português adquirido de forma autodidata, pois pretendia ingressar no mestrado. Identificou-se tanto com a língua que a considera sua “colíngua materna” e fala português com uma sutil mistura de sotaques. Romanelli é professor adjunto na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) junto ao Departamento de Língua e Literatura Estrangeiras do Centro de Comunicação e Expressão e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Tradução (PGET). É doutor em Linguística Aplicada pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), onde também cursou o mestrado, e atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: Língua e Literatura Italiana, Crítica Genética, Linguística Aplicada e Tradução. Além disso, é líder de grupos de pesquisa do CNPq, presidente da Associação Brasileira dos Pesquisadores em Crítica Genética (APCG), membro oficial do Grupo de Trabalho de Crítica Genética da Anpoll, da ABRAPT, editor-chefe das revistas In-traduções (PGET) e Manuscrítica (Qualis A2), coordenador do Núcleo de Estudo de Processos Criativos da UFSC (NUPROC), vice-coordenador do Núcleo de Estudos Interdisciplinares de Italiano da UFSC (NEIITA), poeta e tradutor (Virgillito, Alberti, Twain). Em novembro de 2012, esteve presente no III Ciclo de Palestras – “Tradução em Contexto”, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Tradução da Universidade de Brasília (POSTRAD/UnB) –, no qual proferiu palestra intitulada “Manuscrito e tradução: espaços de criação”.

Abstract: In this article I present my research on genetic criticism applied to translation carried out in the past ten years – partly during my doctoral studies and now in my post-doctoral internship in Belgium. In both cases, I associate the methodology of Genetic Criticism, with the focus on artistic creation, to the documentation regarding the process of translations: in the former case, I examined the translation process of Emily Dickinson´s poems into Italian by the poet and translator Rina Sara Virgillito; in the second case, I looked into the process of translation from various classic and modern languages into Portuguese, by the Emperor of Brazil, Dom Pedro II. The objective of both studies was to establish, within the new paradigm of systemic thinking, a true transdisciplinarity between the genesis of texts (text genetics) and translation studies, so that the former may assist in the creative process of the translator – here understood as a true authoring process -, and the latter may provide speculative tools for a transversal methodology in search of a theory of its own. Finally, I consider both the manuscripts and the translational activity as spaces for creation, of effective new signification of signs due to their unstable nature.

Iara Aparecida Beleli é pesquisadora e coordenadora do núcleo de estudos de gênero - PAGU/Unicamp, onde desenvolve suas pesquisas na área de mídias, relacionamentos amorosos, gênero e sexualidade em intersecção com outras diferenças, como raça/etnia e nacionalidade. Já no seu mestrado, em 1999, analisou as novas dinâmicas de gênero em relacionamentos amorosos, em sua dissertação Gênero e Amor. Experiências, Encontros e Desencontros (1970-1990). No doutorado, em 2005, defendeu a tese Marcas da Diferença na Propaganda Brasileira, analisando as representações de gênero no discurso publicitário, também em uma perspectiva interseccional. Realizou pós doutorado no Brasil (2008) e na Universitat Rovira i Virgilli (2012).Suas pesquisas mais recentes abordaram representações sobre brasilidade na mídia portuguesa, a visibilidade de gays e lésbicas na mídia brasileira, novas configurações relacionais por meio de um sítio de relacionamentos na internet, além de reflexões que abrangem os estudos feministas e de gênero. Considerando sua formação e contribuição diferencial no que tange aos temas que buscamos abordar no dossiê e sua passagem por campos de reflexões de gênero e feminismos em âmbitos nacional e internacional abordamos sua trajetória, na seguinte entrevista, a fim de refletir sobre aspectos fundamentais que envolvem as mídias e as diferenças e suas interfaces com os estudos feministas.

Pretendeu-se, nesta pesquisa, reconstruir o processo criativo do tradutor, usando, pela primeira vez, como embasamento teórico e metodológico a Crítica Genética e os Estudos Descritivos da Tradução. Tentou-se remontar ao processo de criação em apreço através da análise do prototexto que levou ao texto considerado final. No caso específico desta pesquisa, analisou-se o duplo papel do tradutor, seja como autor de um novo texto, seja como um profissional que conta com estratégias próprias de criação ou recriação. O corpus constitui-se de cinco cadernos com traduções autógrafas de poemas escritos por Emily Dickinson. As traduções foram feitas pela poeta italiana Rina Sara Virgillito e são conservadas no Arquivo Nacional de Florença, na Itália, junto com outros documentos relativos à produção poética e tradutória de Virgillito, assim como cartas, desenhos, diários da época da tradução das poesias em questão (de 10/10/1995 até 15/01/1996), que formam o dossiê da pesquisa. Pretendeu-se também questionar, mediante a gênese do processo tradutório de Virgillito, preconceitos que dizem respeito à atividade do tradutor e do autor, em geral, como a presumida fidelidade ao texto de partida, a superioridade desse texto de partida em relação ao de chegada, a objetividade da interpretação e a concepção de autoria.

Este projeto se refere à debatida questão da traduzibilidade de textos poéticos não só de línguas diferentes, mas também de culturas diferentes. Abordaram-se especialmente os desafios que implica uma forma particular de tradução - a de textos poéticos. Roman Jakobson sustentou a tese da intraduzibilidade dos textos literários devido à dificuldade de transpor para outra língua a carga semântica que eles carregam; outros autores, dentre os quais Laranjeira, Meschonnic, Eco, Pound, os irmãos Campos defenderam a tese contrária. O primeiro baseou-se, para defender a traduzibilidade, no conceito benjaminiano de significância e ponderou que a tradução deveria ser uma ‘reescritura ao contrário’ do texto de partida, visando à reprodução da sua significância, ou seja, de seu modo de significar, de formar sentidos poéticos. Na presente pesquisa, esse conceito de significância constituiu, juntamente com as teorias descritivas de Gideon Toury e José Lambert, a fundamentação teórica que norteou a análise das traduções das poesias da americana Emily Dickinson feitas por um poeta reconhecido pelo cânone – a italiana Rina Sara Virgillito – e por sete poetas não reconhecidos pelo cânone. Utilizando a metodologia dos Estudos Descritivos procurou-se remontar desde as traduções (consideradas à maneira de originais) até às estratégias e às normas não somente lingüísticas (mas, por exemplo, editoriais e poéticas) que condicionaram os vários tradutores.

Di queste due autrici sono stati approfonditi due lemmi fondamentali per la scrittura mistica: luce e acqua. A conclusione, il lavoro presenta un repertorio di immagini topiche della mistica, presenti nelle autrici analizzate.

Codici dell’anima: itinerari tra mistica, filosofia e poesia. Con un’antologia di testi al femminile investigates the rhetoric of ‘vision’ at a theoretical, literary and linguistic level: through the analysis of a corpus of important authors of the twentieth century – Campo, Guidacci, Virgillito, Zambrano and Weil – it traces the routes of a new resemantization of some symbols from the mystical tradition. After a theoretical reflection on the most significant aspects of philosophical and poetic itineraries, the volume philologically analyzes the fundamental aspects of this new alphabet of ecstasy to arrive at the construction of a repertoire of symbols, intended as a mapping of presences and recurrences, analyzed in their aspects of continuity, redesign and innovation with respect to the medieval and modern background.

In the debate on the digitisation of work, a widespread loss of jobs, especially among low-skilled workers, is expected. Although similar developments were feared in previous automation waves, they have only partially occurred. The current diffusion of digital technologies in production and logistics has raised this question again. Using empirical research, this study shows that low-skilled work does not disappear through digitisation, but significantly changes structurally. It groups these changes to low-skilled work into four scenarios: automation and substitution, digital optimisation and Taylorisation, upgrading and adaptivity, and structural conservatism and stabilisation. Data quality is a complex concept defined by various dimensions such as accuracy, currency, completeness, and consistency (Wang & Strong, 1996). Recent research has highlighted the importance of data quality issues in various contexts. In particular, in some specific environments characterized by extensive data replication high quality of data is a strict requirement. Among such environments, this article focuses on Cooperative Information Systems. Cooperative information systems (CISs) are all distributed and heterogeneous information systems that cooperate by sharing information, constraints, and goals (Mylopoulos & Papazoglou, 1997). Quality of data is a necessary requirement for a CIS. Indeed, a system in the CIS will not easily exchange data with another system without knowledge of the quality of data provided by the other system, thus resulting in a reduced cooperation. Also, when the quality of exchanged data is poor, there is a progressive deterioration of the overall data quality in the CIS. On the other hand, the high degree of data replication that characterizes a CIS can be exploited for improving data quality, as different copies of the same data may be compared in order to detect quality problems and possibly solve them. In Scannapieco, Virgillito, Marchetti, Mecella, and Baldoni (2004) and Mecella et al. (2003), the DaQuinCIS architecture is described as an architecture managing data quality in cooperative contexts, in order to avoid the spread of low-quality data and to exploit data replication for the improvement of the overall quality of cooperative data. In this article we will describe the design of a component of our system named as, quality factory. The quality factory has the purpose of evaluating quality of XML data sources of the cooperative system. While the need for such a component had been previously identified, this article first presents the design of the quality factory and proposes an overall methodology to evaluate the quality of XML data sources. Quality values measured by the quality factory are used by the data quality broker. The data quality broker has two main functionalities: 1) quality brokering that allows users to select data in the CIS according to their quality; 2) quality improvement that diffuses best quality copies of data in the CIS.

Commun. 2013, 49, 11572) a cell-based system that effected the enantioselective epoxidation of 3 to 4. Antonio Mezzetti of ETH Zürich and Francesco Santoro of Firmenich SA carried out (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2013, 52, 10352) the enantioselective hydrogenation of 5 to the allylic alcohol 6. Elena Fernández of the Universitat Rovira i Virgilli and Andrew Whiting of Durham University devised (Org. Lett. 2013, 15, 4810) a protocol for the enantioselective conjugate borylation of the imine derived from 7, leading to the secondary alcohol 8. Benjamin List of the Max-Planck-Institute für Kohlenforschung, Mülheim and Choong Eui Song of Sungkyunkwan University condensed (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2013, 52, 12143) the thioester 10 with the aldehyde 9 to give the alcohol 11. Toshiro Harada of the Kyoto Institute of Technology developed (Org.
