The two-step reduction of Zn(II) ions at a dropping mercury electrode in 1 M NaClO4 with addition of vetranal was examined using dc polarography, cyclic voltammetry and impedance measurements. Small changes of reversible potential of half-wave, Er1/2, values indicate that the Zn(II)-vetranal complexes formed in the solution are very unstable. A stepwise character of electron transfer in the Zn(II) ion reduction was established. The catalytic activity of vetranal is stronger in the first step of electron transfer than in the second one. The linear dependence of the true rate constant for the forward reaction, ktf, of Zn(II) electroreduction versus relative surface excess, Γ′, of vetranal at a given potential in the reaction plane, Φr, was interpreted in terms of a "bridging model".

Fokus ovog rada jeste na energiji vetra i optimizaciji rada vetroturbine. Konkretno, problematika je usmerena ka sistemu za praćenje smera vetra koji predstavlja jedan od ključnih faktora za proizvodnju energije. Promatrana je kalibracija i optimizacija ugla uređaja za merenje smera vetra koji se nalazi na kućištu vjetroturbine. Za rešenje ovog problema upotrebljeno je mašinsko učenje nakon čega su prikazani i rezultati simulacije sa zaključkom.

U radu je razmatrana primena energije vetra za dobijanje električne energije. Predstavljeni su principi rada vetrogeneratora i vetroelektrana. Opisan je projekat jedne vetroelektrane u jugoistočnom Banatu i izvršena procena nivoa energije vetra u toj oblasti. Na osnovu podataka merenja brzine vetra na 60 m visine, urađeni su proračuni za formiranje vetroparka sa turbinama od 3 MW visine kućišta od 110 m. Analizirana je snaga i proizvodnja ovakvog vetroparka i urađena odgovarajuća poređena.

Izgradnja novih objekata menja mikro­klimu u svom okruženju. Jedan od dominantnih faktora koji se smatra kao negativna pojava jeste brzina vetra. Ona na nivou pešaka može imati drastične uticaje. Istra­živanje je sprovedeno na bloku u Novom Sadu, koji je u procesu urbanizacije. Računarskom dinamikom fluida, simulacijom vetra, dobijene su brzine, a na osnovu njih analiziran je komfor na nivou pešaka. Cilj istraživanja je poboljšanje spoljašnjeg termalnog komfora i mehaničkog komfora vetra u zavisnosti od aktivnosti pojedinaca.

The work is carried out in the framework of the onion F1 breeding program. The practical purpose of the work is to carry out genetic selection of onion forms using molecular genetic markers of male sterility in the course of obtaining the maternal line for heterotic selection of F1 hybrids. The scientific component of these studies was the study of the population-genetic basis of various types of male sterility in onions of the Belarusian genmplasma. We used belarusian varieties Vetraz and Skarb litvinov and a collection of other varieties and hybrids. Markers of the mitochondrial genes orfA501, cob and the nuclear alleles Ms/ms, cosegregating with genes of fertility restorer/S-sterility maintainer genes, were studied. It has been shown that in the Vetraz variety are observed plants with the N- or T-cytotype in N-cytoplasm (TN-). The belarusian variety Scarb litvinov contains plants with the cytotypes N-, S, TN-, SN-, STN-. As a result, it was concluded that the male sterility of the Vetraz variety is T-type, and in the Scarp litvinov variety is complex, and is caused by the cytoplasmic alleles S- and T-. In both varieties: Vetraz and Scarb litvinov the sources of the ms locus causing the S-type of male sterility have been identified. Less than one-fifth of the number of world collection of varieties and hybrids was detected as Scytotype. This value is smaller than the value given in the scientific literature. However it may reflect the significant spread of the original S-cytoplasm of a single plant of the shortday Italian Red variety in the world onion germplasm.

Background: Mechanical ventilation is a life support for ICU patients and is indicated in case of acute or chronic respiratory failure. 75% of patients admitted to ICU require this support and most of them stay on prolonged MV. Tracheostomy plays a fundamental role in airway management, facilitating ventilator weaning and reducing the duration of MV. Early tracheostomy is defined when the procedure is conducted up to 10 days after the beginning of MV and late tracheostomy when the procedure is performed after this period. Controversy still exists over the ideal timing and classification of early and late tracheostomy. Objective: Evaluate the impact of timing of tracheostomy on ventilator weaning. Method: Single-center retrospective study. Patients were divided into three groups: very early tracheostomy (VETrach), intermediate (ITrach) and late (LTrach): >10 days. Results: One hundred two patients were included: VETrach (n=21), ITrach (n=15), and LTrach (n=66). ITrach group had lower APACHE II (p=0.004) and SOFA (p≤0.001). Total ICU length of stay, and incidence of post-tracheostomy ventilator-associated pneumonia were significantly lower in the VETrach and ITrach groups. The GCS and RASS scores improved in all groups, while the maximal inspiratory pressure and rapid shallow breathing index showed a tendency towards improvement on discharge from the ICU. Conclusion: Very early tracheostomy did not reduce the duration of MV or length of ICU stay after the procedure when compared to late tracheostomy, but was associated with low rates of ventilatorassociated pneumonia. Neurological patients benefitted more from tracheostomy, particularly very early and intermediate tracheostomy.

SummaryThermography was used to evaluate the effects of the circulation on the distal equine limb of three wrapping materials (Vetrap® Tape, Equisport™ Equine Support Bandage (ESB) and 1680 denier experimental bandage). The wraps were applied at 100% stretch in a spiral or figure 8 technique. The Vetrap Tape and the ESB applied in a figure 8 technique were not statistically different from the control suggesting no circulatory impairment; however, the ESB and 1680 denier bandage wrapped in a spiral technique had a statistically significant effect suggesting circulatory impairment.Thermography was used to evaluate the effects of the circulation on the distal equine limb of three wrapping materials and two methods of application.

Приводится оценка сортов алычи культурной белорусской селекции: Асалода, Витьба, Лодва, Лама, Ветразь-2, Сонейка, Панна, Мара, созданных в РУП «Институт плодоводства». Исследования проведены в отделе селекции плодовых культур РУП «Институт плодоводства» в течение 2015-2020 гг. Дана краткая характеристика продуктивности, качества плодов, устойчивости к плодовой гнили, зимостойкости. Установлены сроки цветения и созревания плодов. По комплексу хозяйственно ценных признаков выделены сорта Панна (Лама × Gaviota) и Ветразь-2 (Ветразь св.оп.). Сорта Мара и Асалода рекомендованы в качестве опылителей для современных сортов алычи культурной в условиях Беларуси. The article presents the result of evaluation of 8 myrobalan plum cultivars: ‘Asaloda’, ‘Vit’ba’, ‘Lodva’, ‘Lama’, ‘Vetraz-2’, ‘Soneika’, ‘Panna’, ‘Mara’ created in the Institute for Fruit Growing. The studies were carried out in The Fruit Breeding Department of the Institute for Fruit Growing in 2015-2020. The summary characterization of productivity, quality indices of fruits, susceptibility to brown rot, winter hardiness is presented. As a result of the research, date of full bloom and date of ripening were determined. ‘Panna’ (‘Lama’ × ‘Gaviota’) and ‘Vetraz-2’ (‘Vetraz’ o.p.) cultivars were selected for a complex of economic and biological characteristics. On the basis of the information, ‘Mara’ and ‘Asaloda’ cultivars are recommended as pollinators for modern myrobalan plum cultivars in Belarus conditions.

AbstractThe crystal structure of antimonian asbecasite in an ejectum of hypabyssal origin occurring at Tre Croci near Vetralla, Vico volcanic complex, Roman potassic province, Latium, Italy, has been refined to R = 0.042, and is compared to the original crystal structure determination carried out on the Sb-free asbecasite of hydrothermal metamorphic origin from the type-locality, Cherbandung in Binna valley, Monte Leone nappe, Switzerland. New electron microprobe analyses of samples from both localities demonstrate crystal-chemical features that permit distinction between asbecasites from the two occurrences, so far the only known localities for this mineral.

The paper is focused on the historical-architectural evolution and material-technical qualification of polychrome majolica domes that were built between the 17th and 19th centuries in Apulian religious buildings. In particular, the cultural context in which this solution spread throughout the Mediterranean area is identified. Moreover, the case history of construction and decorative techniques that are distinctive of the regional territory is discussed in terms of underlying structure, installation of elements and surface colours. The study is then detailed on the Church of Santa Maria della Vetrana in Castellana Grotte (BA), for which the morpho-typological survey and mapping of the decay state are presented, based on the use of terrestrial and aerial digital photogrammetry. Finally, based on the identification of the main pathologies from both direct and indirect alteration factors, the most appropriate conservation and maintenance interventions are outlined, with specific focus on repair and integration of the majolica tiles, according to principles of high compatibility and low intrusiveness for a solution meeting artisan tradition and technical practice.

In 1662, the physician Christopher Merret presented his fellow members of the Royal Society with an English translation of Antonio Neri's “L'arte vetraria” (The art of glass, 1612). Central to the preparation and receipt of this book was a cache of objects relevant to glassmaking, now lost or dispersed. These materia vitraria served as a tangible appendix to Merret's written commentary. They also reified the society's interest in the development of domestic industry by offering a direct means by which fellows could appreciate the raw materials of contemporary glassmaking alongside evidence of the trade's longer history in the British Isles.

Tvorba vnútorného prostredia v pracovnej oblasti človeka v priemyselných halových objektoch by mala byť založená na úzkej spolupráci profesií vykurovania spolu s vetraním a klimatizáciou. Prax však dokazuje, že tomu tak v mnohých prípadoch nie je. Obidve tieto profesie sú veľa krát riešené samostatne, výsledkom čoho je ich nespolupráca vedúca až k vzájomnému prekážaniu si, či už z hľadiska dispozičného umiestnenia alebo funkčného prevádzkovania navrhnutých sústav. Vytvorenie vykurovacej a vetracej sústavy, ktorá by jednak bola naprojektovaná v súlade s platnou legislatívou a jednak by vytvárala optimálne vnútorné životné prostredie pre človeka v jeho pracovnej oblasti a súčasne pri hospodárnej prevádzke, nachádza riešenie v kombinácii hygienického vetrania so sálavým vykurovaním, s použitím rekuperačnej vzduchotechnickej jednotky.

An accurate estimate of wind resource assessment is essential for the identification of potential site for wind farm development. The hourly average wind speed measured at 50 m above ground level over a period of 39 years (1980-2018) from 25 locations in Tamil Nadu, India have been used in this study. The annual and seasonal wind speed trends are analyzed using linear and Mann-Kendall statistical methods. The annual energy yield, and net capacity factor are obtained for the chosen wind turbine with 2 Mega Watt rated power. As per the linear trend analysis, Chennai and Kanchipuram possess a significantly decreasing trend, while Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli show an increasing trend. Mann-Kendall trend analysis shows that cities located in the southern peninsula and in the vicinity of the coastal regions have significant potential for wind energy development. Moreover, a majority of the cities show an increasing trend in the autumn season due to the influence of the retreating monsoons which is accompanied with heavy winds. The mean wind follows an oscillating pattern throughout the year at all the locations. Based on the net annual energy output, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi and Nagapattinam are found to be the most suitable locations for wind power deployment in Tamil Nadu, followed by Cuddalore, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur and Tirunelveli.

U ovom radu su opisane glavne karakteristike sinhronih mašina, kao i njihova uloga u pretvaranju energije vetra u električnu energiju. Zatim je dat matematički model devetofazne sinhrone mašine sa stalnim magnetima. Na osnovu ovog modela je implementirana mašina u Typhoon HIL Control Center Schematic Editor-u. Rezultati simulacije rada mašine za date parametre mašine i režim praznog hoda su prikazani grafički. Na kraju rada je predstavljen i koncept vektorskog upravljanja ovom mašinom, odnosno upravljanja naponima statora da bi se ostvarile željene statorske struje.

Three ItalianLoliumweed populations, one susceptible and two resistant to diclofop, were characterized by the technique of inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR). The goal of this study was to taxonomically identify theseLoliumpopulations as well as to evaluate evidence for introgression of ISSR fragments fromFestucaand the potential role of this introgression in the diclofop response. ISSR analysis confirmed the genomic background of the weed populations to be consistent with that ofLolium. However, the great range of variation in ISSR banding patterns highlighted that the three ryegrass accessions are mixed populations made up of individuals resulting presumably from intrageneric and intergeneric hybridization in theLolium–Festucacomplex. TwoFestucagenus-discriminating and 20Festucaspecies-discriminating ISSR markers were screened among all the three ryegrass populations. The resistant Tuscania population carried the highest percentage ofFestucagenome (16.8%) followed by the resistant Roma (13.6%) and susceptible Vetralla (7.6%) populations. On the basis of these data some influence ofFestucagenome in diclofop resistance levels of studied ryegrass populations could be hypothesized.

AbstractThe crystal-chemical relationships occurring within a single grain of monazite-(Ce) from Vetralla, Vico Volcanic Complex, north of Rome, are outlined. The sample is from a miarolitic cavity in a holocrystalline ejectum consisting of K-feldspar plus minor plagioclase, mica and Fe-oxides, collected from a pyroclastic explosive level. The Gandolfi film (Cu-Kα radiation) can be indexed in space group P21/n with a = 6.816(4); b = 6.976(4); c = 6.471(3) Å; β = 103.63(3)°; V = 299.0(6) Å3. Electron-probe microanalyses plot within the field of monazite along the huttonite-monazite edge of the huttonite-monazite-brabantite triangle. Despite patchy and irregular zoning, the grain shows a clear enrichment towards pure monazite at the outer rim. A constant Th:Si ratio of 1:1 indicates the existence of a simple solid-solution between huttonite and monazite. The substitution can be written as Th4+ + Si4+ → REE3+ + P5+ without requiring any electrostatic compensation by divalent cations, or by anionic groups. The REE distribution pattern is compatible with that of monazites from syenitic rocks.

In the present study, the influence of the wavy edge blade on aerodynamic characteristics for the flow of blades at Reynolds number (Re) of 8×105 is numerically investigated based on the unsteady wind flow. Aerodynamic characteristics of a (sinusoidal leading edge) wavy NACA0015 aerofoil blade are carried out using ICEM 19.1 and ANSYS fluent. The numerical simulation is conducted then validated by experimental data with steady wind flow. This is conducted by employing the same Reynold's number in the experimental work. While, the unsteady flow was numerically performed at 1 Hz frequency of wind flow conditions. The main findings from this work show that the wavy blade can behave better in turbulent wind conditions with the maximum lift coefficient of 0.73 compared to 0.621 for the normal blade. However, the findings declare that the wavy blade stalled earlier than the normal one in the unsteady flow case. Similarly, it stalled at 12° angle of attack earlier than the normal one which was stalled at 14° in the steady flow case.

Stubovi vetrogeneratora su jedni od najkompleksnije opterećenih stubova (tornjeva) koji postoje u građevini. Uzimajući u obzir da promenljiva priroda brzine vetra intenzivno menja opterećenje na stub u vidu ekscentričnog momenta. Cilj ovog istraživanja je dobijanje rezultata statičke MKE analize u vidu napona prema kojoj možemo, shodno najvećim naponima, promeniti dizajn samog modela stuba vetrogeneratora. Takođe istraživanjem oscilacija stuba i pronalaženjem sopstvenih kružnih frekvencija oscilovanja dobijamo zanje o brzini obrtaja rotora koju treba da ograničimo da stub ne bi mogao da uđe u rezonantni režim. U radu je prikazana primena metode konačnih elemenata (MKE) pri pronalaženju napona stuba pomoću ABAQUS – softvera i primena teorije oscilacija pri pronalaženju sopstvenih kružnih frekvencija i maksimalnih amplituda pomoću Mathematica – softvera, 3D model korišten za MKE analizu je izrađen u Solidworks – softveru.

A professional, working in dangerous conditions, requires a high level of steadfastness to stress, caution, and responsibility. The goal of the research is aimed at theoretical and empirical disclosing of the essence of emotional intelligence in employees of risky professions. Emotional intelligence is seen as a leading personal competence and ability. The structural components of emotional intelligence are analyzed in detail from the points of view of well-known foreign and domestic psychologists. The integrative indicators of emotional intelligence have been empirically revealed in rescue workers and patrol officers. In our study participated 1000 respondents with the same length of service in 4 years, in particular: firefighters (n = 500); patrol officers (n = 500). The psycho-diagnostic tools included: Hall test, Russian version of the test of emotional intelligence of J. Meyer, P. Salovey, D.Caruso MSCEIT-V2.0 in the adapted version of O. Sergiienko, I. Vetrova and the method of studying the professional identity of L. Schneider. The respondents showed a low level of development of emotional intelligence. However, the differences were also revealed, in particular, it is more clearly for firefighters to understand their own emotions, but for law enforcement officers the practical use of emotions is in priority. At the same time, the common problem is inability to manage own emotional experiences.

The current structure of electricity production in Serbia is not sustainable and it is necessary to consider the possibilities of decarbonisation of electricity production in the future. Renewable energy sources are the only sustainable resource for implementing the decarbonisation strategy. This paper presents the results of research of the potential of solar and wind energy in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The spatial depressiveness of these sources is presented and the energy potential is estimated for each region. Based on the available global databases, the potential was considered and the possible installed capacity and gross annual electricity production for each region were defined. It was concluded that the technically usable potential of wind energy in the territory of the Republic of Serbia (excluding Kosovo and Metohija) is about 11,500 MW, from which about 29.5 TWh of electricity could be produced annually. The technically usable solar potential in Serbia is estimated at about 24 GWp, of which about half is on roof surfaces. The estimated production of electricity from solar capacities is about 30.5 TWh per year.

Efficient extraction of renewable energy from wind depends on the reliable estimation of wind characteristics and optimization of wind farm installation and operation conditions. There exists uncertainty in the prediction of wind energy tapping potential based on the variability in wind behavior. Thus the estimation of wind power density based on empirical models demand subsequent data processing to ensure accuracy and reliability in energy computations. Present study analyses the reliability of the ANN-based machine learning approach in predicting wind power density for five stations (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, and Tirunelveli) in the state of Tamil Nadu, India using five different non-linear models. The selected models such as Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Dense Neural Network (DNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) Network, and linear regression are employed for comparing the data for a period from Jan 1980 to May 2018. Based on the results, it was found that the performance of (1->Conv1D|2->LSTM|1-dense) is better than the other models in estimating wind power density with minimum error values (based on mean absolute error and root mean squared error).
