Résumé :
Testing for the susceptibility for vasodepressor reaction in humans involves the combination of restriction of venous return by passive upright tilting and the administration of isoproterenol. To explore the basis of the vasodepressor test in humans, the present experiment examined whether a reduced cardiac volume coupled with adrenergic stimulation causes a vasodepressor reaction in rats. Vasodepressor reaction was defined as paradoxical heart rate slowing in conjunction with hypotension during inferior vena caval occlusion. Inferior vena caval occlusion was performed for 60 s and the maximum changes in R-R were measured during seven states as follows. (A) Under control conditions inferior vena caval occlusion alone accelerated the rate in 32 of 32 rats (ΔR-R, −13.9 ± 1.7 ms, p < 0.001). (B) When inferior vena caval occlusion was performed during an infusion of isoproterenol (0.5–1.0 μg∙min−1), a vasodepressor reaction was observed in all rats as the heart rate slowed (ΔR-R, +138.1 ± 14.8 ms, p < 0.001). The vasodepressor reaction was further examined during isoproterenol and inferior vena caval occlusion under five additional states. (C) After atropine the vasodepressor reaction was unchanged (ΔR-R, +132.7 ± 24.8 ms, p < 0.001). (D) After bilateral vagotomy the paradoxical slowing was eliminated. (E) After intrapericardial lidocaine the paradoxic slowing was eliminated. (F) After bilateral stellectomy nonsignificant slowing was still present, but this was markedly reduced when compared with B (p < 0.001). (G) Following chronic chemical sympathetic denervation with 6-hydroxydopamine the paradoxic bradycardia was eliminated. Conclusions: (1) Reduced cardiac volume combined with adrenergic stimulation can stimulate a vasodepressor reaction; (2) the vasodepressor reaction requires signalling by the afferent but not efferent vagal fibers; (3) the bradycardia is mainly due to withdrawal of sympathetic efferent tone.Key words: vasodepressor reaction, venous return, isoproterenol.

Résumé :
We will describe the covalent grafting of 2H-MoS2 flakes on graphene monolayers embedded in field-effect transistors.[1] A bifunctional molecule was used that features a maleimide and a diazonium functional group, known to connect to sulfide- and carbon-based materials, respectively. MoS2 flakes were first exfoliated, functionalized by reaction with the maleimide moieties, then anchored to graphene through the diazonium groups. This approach enabled the simultaneous functionalization of several devices. The electronic properties of the resulting heterostructure are shown to be dominated by the MoS2–graphene molecular interface. We will also discuss the journey that has led to these results, including the development of a “click” chemistry reaction for transition metal-dichalcogenides,[2-4] and insights into the covalent patterning of graphene.[5-8] References: [1] M. Résumé :

The random first order transition theory (RFOT) describing the transition from a supercooled liquid to an ideal glass has been actively developed over the last twenty years. This theory is formulated in a way that allows a description of the transition from the initial equilibrium state to the final metastable state without considering any kinetic processes. The RFOT and its applications for real molecular systems (multicomponent liquids with various intermolecular potentials, gel systems, etc.) are widely represented in English-language sources. However, these studies are practically not described in any Russian sources. This paper presents an overview of the studies carried out in this field. REFERENCES 1. Sanditov D. S., Ojovan M. I. Résumé :

This dissertation addresses the intensifying global issue of food insecurity within our country and the contributing factors thereof. It investigates the role architecture can play as a systemic tool (in the form of a gastronomic quarter) to facilitate the re[grow]th of a highly contested site. By identifying and drawing from global and local issues, new solutions, developed through the integration of socio-economic systems, act as points of acupuncture. These points aim to improve contextual conditions through food network empowerment. Through a newly informed architectural approach various people within society are enabled through local means of support. It is food and the accessibility thereof that forms the basis of the socially inclined space. Local support is essential for community growth and empowerment, which in turn, positively impacts the overall urban fabric through the provision of a more inclusive environment.

Hypothesis: the child grappling with his/her infantile neurosis acts according to his/her perception of his;/her Other, a person for whom or a place for which his/her speech is meant. Ln the work of the first psychoanalysts for children, we check whether or not a stumbling block of the act is that the analyst comes to conform with what the child infers from his/her perception of his/her Other. Fantasy becomes reality. Defences are reinforced. The misunderstanding : the analyst would know what is good for the child, his/her nature and would act accordingly: as a father, a mother, a child, an. . . Ideal analyst. M. Klein once again invokes the good Mother of certain phenomena of transference. A. Freud builds, according to the fantasy of the child in his/her oedipian age, laws to his/her psychosocial development. D. W. Winnicott, playing, frustrates the child's actings and outlines the symbolical presence of the analyst in the city (the demand of speech). F. Dolto becomes the Other of the Truth, gives the child the knowledge on his/her fantasy. Symbolical castration is, for everyone, the goal of the cure : the analyse delivers it while fulfilling the so called "psy" needs. R et R. Lefort do not check this collage. The subject opens to his/her desire, not of a knowledge of himself/herself, but of his/her access to his/her speech. The relationship of the subject with the signifiers, with the phallic deficiency of the drive, is put into function. The hypothesis is confirmed. The analyst for children is not the imaginary or real images of the Other. The history of concepts confirms that unconscious knowledge is on the child's side- and not on the analyst's. The end of the cure: the child becomes a subject to the science discourse of which he/she is the object of the discontent of civilisation. The definition is no longer given in opposition with the social but according to the aim of the questions which founds it on the invocation of the subject. This confirmation shows a difference with ail "ideologization" of psychoanalysis, a questioning of the social act : its response to invocations and questions asked

Kong, Won-Young. « Paul Wittgenstein's Transcriptions for Left Hand : Pianistic Techniques and Performance Problems : A Lecture Recital, Together with Three Recitals of Selected Works of R. Schumann, S. Prokofiev, F. Liszt, M. Ravel, and F. Chopin ». Thesis, University of North Texas, 1999. https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc935633/.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
Paul Wittgenstein (1887-1961) made significant contributions to the piano literature for the left hand through numerous commissioned works as well as his own transcriptions. In the transcriptions, Wittgenstein preserved the texture of two-hand music, aiming for the simulation of the original works. This requires special techniques in the performance by the left hand alone. This dissertation investigations technical means and performance problems associated with the transcriptions as well as Wittgenstein's own recordings of selections from his works. Chapter 1 serves as an introduction, providing a historical overview of the role of the left hand in two-hand piano literature. Chapter 2 gives biological information on Paul Wittgenstein and discusses the commissioned works. Chapter 3 investigates special techniques in the transcriptions, in the areas of arpeggios, widespread chords, fingering, pedaling, and others. Chapter 4 discusses Wittgensteins's performance style based on his recordings. Chapter 5 presents a conclusion pointing to the benefits of performing left-hand music in two-hand piano playing.

Eliot ». Thesis, Strasbourg, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014STRAC005/document.

Connecting T. S. Eliot's Waste Land to R. F. Burton's Kasidah produces a literary theory. The founding principle of this theory is the Unity of Consciousness (Wahdat al Wayy), after the exegesis of Ibn Arabi (Wahdat al Wujud and Wahdat al Adyan). It also postulates that any life is but a stream of consciousness. Action is thus the way by which consciousness writes in the world, and experience is the way the world writes in consciousness. The expression of consciousness in perspective is in turn a profound literary invariant, connecting The Waste Land and The Kasidah but also Poe's Al Aaraaf, Baudelaire's Voyage, Villon's Testament or Leopardi's Canto Notturno. Another invariant, based on the precedent, is the invariant of the wasteland, which can be summed up by the myth of the Ortolano Eterno : Homo : locatus est, damnatus est, humatus est, renatus est : in Horto. Now the seventh surah of the Quran is a notable expression of the invariant of the wasteland. In the same way that there is a connectomics of the human brain, there is a connectomics and also a biology of literatures. A sample of its corpus callosum, connecting the Western and Eastern literatures, is the "chain of the wasteland", a lineament of texts which leitmotiv is the interaction between consciousness and the world. Regarding Eliot his direct sufi influences range from Omar Khayyam to Guénon and Schuon, and his indirect ones regard the known sufi influence over the troubadours. In turn Eliot has been influencing the contemporary poetry of the muslim area since at least 1950

Résumé :
In this work we investigated the possible relationship between plasmatic activity and antithrombotic activity of a Low Molecular Weight Heparin Fragment (CY222, Choay-Paris) compared with Heparin (Hep). A randomized administration of both test drugs was carried out on 198 rats receiving 4 different dosages (4,2,1 or 0.5 mg/Kg b.w.) or a placebo solution (normal saline). A ligature of the inferior vena cava was performed on rats at T = OH and test drugs were administered subcutaneously at T - 2H. Blood and thrombus samples were taken at T = 6H. For all the tests the Heparin level was computed from a standard curve made up of known amounts of the 3 rd STANDARD HEPARIN (W.H.O.).The statistical study between plasmatic and antithrombotic activities was conducted in 2 steps: 1°) search for linear statistical correlation (correlation factor R, independence test T)For Hep: Thrombin Clotting Time: R = −0.26, T = 0.38, p<0.01; APTT: R = −0.28, T = −2.56, p<0.01; Anti-Xa (chromogenic method CBS 31.39):R = 0.48, T = −4.70, p<0.01; Anti-Xa (Hepaclot, Stago):R = −0.35 T = −3.24, p<0.01; Anti-Xa (Heptest, Haemachem, INC): R = −0.36, T = −3.21, p<0.01; Anti-IIa (chromogenic method CBS 34.47): R = −0.32, T = -2.84, pCO.Ol; For CY222: Anti-Xa (chromogenic method): R = −0.23, T = −1.80, p=0.07; Anti-IIa (chromogenic method): R = −0.26, T = −2.07, p<0.05; 2°) a multivariate regression between thrombus weight (mg) and the plasmatic activity of both the test drugs: For Hep Anti-Xa (chromogenic method): F = 14.56 For CY222 Anti-IIa (chromogenic method): F = 14.40 and Anti-Xa (chromogenic method): F = 5.96.In conclusion, we observe a statistical correlation between Anti-IIa activity and thrombus regression.

The platelet membrane glycoproteins (GP) lb and GPIIb/IIIa were investigated in 10 patients with myeloproliferative disorders. 2 patients had essential thrombocytemia (ET), 2 had chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and 6 policytemia vera (PV). The number of GP molecules were detected by radiolabelled monoclonal antibodies anti GPIb and anti GPIIb/IIIa complex (gift of dr. Z.M. Ruggeri) and their function was evaluated by using, in a binding assay, purified radiolabelled asialo von Willebrand factor (1251 ASvWF) and purified radiolabelled fibrinogen (1251 F). Binding isotherms were evaluated by Scatchard type analysis using the computer assisted programLigand. The binding of 1251 anti GPIb to the platelets of the ten patients showed 14,955 ∓ 4,636 molecules/platelet (M/Plt) compared to 19,790 ∓ 3,791 M/Plt of 11 normals with a p value < 0.01. The binding of 125IAsvWF to the GPIb of nonstimulated platelets in platelet rich plasma (PRP) was then measured and ound to be decreased. The dissociation constants (Kds) were within normal values except in one patient. There was a good correlation (r = 0.91, p < 0.01) between the amount of 1251 ASvWF bound and GPIb molecules. The binding of radiolabelled anti GPIIb/IIIa to the platelets of six patients (4 with PV and 2 with CML) was measured and found to be constantly decreased in all patients with a mean value of 25,349 ∓ 2,077 M/Plt compared to 43,192 ∓ 6,354 M/Plt found in normals (p < 0.01). 1251 fibrinogen binding to the GPIIb/IIIa complex of ADP + adrenalin stimulated washed platelet was studied in 2 patients and we found 16,267 M/Plt and 14,752 M/Plt respectively, significantly diminished when compared to the mean value of 36,591 M/Plt found in 2 normal controls. The Kds were within normal values. Our studies demonstrate a significant decrease of GPIb and GPIIb/IIIa on the platelet membrane of patients with myeloproliferative disorders. Furthermore this decrease is accompanied by a diminished binding of both vWF and F to their platelets receptors. These findings may partly explain the hemorragic tendency often encountered in these patients.

The outbreak of the health crisis of Corona virus, also known as (Covid-19 pandemic) has helped in the emergence of the economic concept of e-marketing despite the various negative repercussions that the pandemic had on various other aspects of human life, namely, the imposition of strict preventive policies such as home quarantine and social distancing. These regulations changed the nature of the Algerian consumer behavior and the way he purchases his products, goods and services. Accordingly, and to achieve positive results that help bridging the gap between the producer and the consumer in light of social distancing adopted during the pandemic, marketers started promoting and selling their products and services on the internet, paving the way for the emergence of e-commerce. The latter has proven its viability and practicality in facilitating electronic commercial transactions by improving consumers’ experiences on the web. Hence, the present research study aims to investigate the role and importance of e-marketing in light of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on shedding light on e-commerce as a being a priority that Algeria has become more in need of to execute various commercial and economic transactions.

Arumugam, Udayansankar, Mimoun Elboujdaini, Ming Gao et Ramiro Vanoye. PR-328-133702-R02 F-S Fatigue Testing of Crack-in-Dent with Framework for Life Prediction. Chantilly, Virginia : Pipeline Research Council International, Inc. (PRCI), octobre 2019. http://dx.doi.org/10.55274/r0011628.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
ASME B31.8 states that "Dents that contain stress corrosion cracking or other cracks are injurious to the pipeline" and therefore, requires immediate attention by the Operators. Dent containing crack fields (colonies) are often observed in liquid pipelines. The recently completed PRCI research project MD-1N "Study of the Mechanism for Cracking in Dents in a Crude Oil Pipeline" showed evidence of a mechanism for fatigue cracking. The crack growth rate as a function of stress intensity factor was estimated using the measured spacings of fatigue striations from fracture surfaces based on the assumption that the formation of fatigue striations on a cycle-by-cycle basis. However, due to the lack of full-scale fatigue crack growth data, the success was limited. This gap prompted PRCI to launch a full-scale experimental investigation of crack growth rates of cracks in dents under cyclic pressure load in the simulated groundwater NS4 environment (PRC-328-133702, MD-1Q). The objective of the study was to determine the crack growth rate as a function of stress intensity factor, the number of cycles to failure, and the failure modes of cracks in dents. The test results would be used to evaluate the validity of cycle-by-cycle based assumption for crack growth rate estimation from the measured fatigue-striation-spacing. The investigation was also aimed at establishing a framework for remaining fatigue life prediction of cracks in dents in liquid pipelines. This framework would benefit liquid pipeline Operators to manage better the integrity of dents associated with corrosion fatigue cracking in groundwater. A total of six pipe samples containing cracks in shallow dents excavated from a retired 24-inch diameter liquid transmission pipeline were available and used for the full-scale fatigue tests. The test system developed under the project consisted of four components: (1) a computer-controlled hydraulic pressure cycling system, (2) an environment chamber containing a simulated groundwater NS4 solution mounted on the pipe in around the dent region to provide a simulated field environment condition; (3) real-time crack growth monitoring systems including direct cur-rent potential drop (DCPD), Clip gage and Strain gage; (4) data acquisition system. The cyclic pressure range used in the fatigue tests was 78 to 780 psig (72%SMYS) with R=0.1, which was based on historical operational pressure data and the Rain flow analysis. A constant frequency of 0.0526 Hz was selected for the testing to ensure the frequency requirement for corrosion fatigue is met. The remaining fatigue life of cracks-in-dents and failure modes were evaluated using the full-scale fatigue test results. Further, fatigue crack growth rates were established. Finally, a framework was developed for the life prediction of cracks in shallow dents based on the findings from six full-scale fatigue cyclic tests. This framework will assist liquid pipeline operators to estimate the remaining fatigue life for cracks in shallow dents utilizing inputs from ILI and pipeline's historical operational pressure fluctuation data and to mitigate the threat of cracks in dents in a timely manner. There is a related webinar.
