La presente investigación titulada El uso del Personal Branding en el ámbito corporativo para liderar gente tóxica, tiene como objetivo analizar el uso del Personal Branding como una herramienta de gestión para liderar gente tóxica neutralizando sus efectos tóxicos y hacerlas productivas. Las personas tóxicas pueden afectar negativamente a la empresa, por ello se ha planteado que el problema de nuestra investigación está referido a que la gente tóxica en el entorno corporativo disminuye la productividad en la organización. Se ha desarrollado una investigación cualitativa descriptiva correlacional, debido a que permite determinar el grado de asociación entre variables empresariales. Las variables utilizadas son las personas tóxicas y el impacto en la productividad de una empresa. El instrumento que se ha utilizado son encuestas y entrevistas al personal de la alta dirección o gerencia, jefes o mandos medios de tres importantes empresas locales con presencia a nivel nacional, el resultado del análisis fue que el 100 % de los encuestados consideraron que las personas tóxicas impactan negativamente en la productividad, un 70% indican que pueden corregir sus actitudes con ayuda y un 60% conoce que es el Personal Branding. Por último, nuestra investigación pretende abordar el Personal Branding desde una perspectiva poco estudiada: Como una herramienta muy efectiva y valiosa para liderar personas tóxicas y por ende mitigar sus comportamientos negativos que afectan a la productividad de una organización, por ello estamos planteando una estrategia de implementación de Personal Branding en la organización.
This research entitled “The use of Personal Branding in the corporate environment to lead toxic workers”, aims to analyze the use of Personal Branding as a management tool to lead toxic workers, neutralizing their toxic effects and making them productive. Toxic workers can negatively affect the company, so it has been argued that the problem in our research is that toxic workers in a corporate environment decrease productivity in the organization. A correlational descriptive qualitative research has been developed, since it allows to determine the degree of association between business variables. The variables used are the toxic workers and the impact on the productivity in the organization. The instruments that has been used are surveys and interviews with directors, managers, chief, and middle chief of three important local companies with a national presence, the result of the analysis was that 100% of the workers considered that the toxic workers negatively impact on productivity, 70% indicate that they can correct their attitudes with help and 60% know about Personal Branding. Finally, our research aims to approach Personal Branding from a non-studied perspective: As a very effective and valuable tool to lead toxic people and therefore mitigate their negative behaviors that affect the productivity of an organization, therefore we are proposing a strategy for the implementation of Personal Branding in the organization.

This thesis contains the results of my research between 1994 and 1998 into the uses of fictional autobiography in personal development. The topic arose out of my observation, both of my own experience and the experience of students attending my creative writing courses, that writing fictional autobiography as part of a writing apprenticeship not only enabled the development of writing skills and the finding of a writing 'voice', but often had a therapeutic effect on the writer's relationship with himor herself, and with his or her significant others. I set out to explore this observation through an examination of my creative writing course 'Autobiography and Fiction' (subsequently called 'Autobiography and the Imagination'), which I taught at the University of Sussex Centre for Continuing Education from 1991 to 1996. I issued questionnaires to all 78 students who had taken this course, to generate data on the benefits of engaging in the writing of fictional autobiography. I also conducted interviews on the same topic with 5 of these students. I analysed the resulting data using the theory of the Germani American psychoanalyst Karen Horney, and to a lesser extent that of object relations theorists D.W. Winnicott, Christopher Bollas and Marion Milner. Where appropriate, I also used theory of literary and social narrative. The thesis presents the three main findings of the research, namely, that the writing of fictional autobiography (1) can facilitate a closer contact with the inner life, resulting in a stronger sense of identity and the finding of a 'writing voice'; (2) can help to reveal and work through problems of identity which cause writer's block; and (3) can provide a means of're-writing' self-narratives which have been 'written' in the psyche by family and society. The thesis concludes with some suggestions as to how fictional autobiography might be used in a self-analytic or psychoanalytic context.

En el marco de la diplomatura y segunda especialidad en gestión escolar con liderazgo pedagógico, organizada por el MINEDU – PUCP, se presenta el plan de acción con la propuesta denominada fortalecimiento de capacidades docentes para el uso adecuado de estrategias metodológicas desde un enfoque por competencias en los profesores de la I.E Cesar Vallejo Mendoza-Paredones. La importancia del presente trabajo académico es que se constituye en un referente y guía de acciones para fortalecer las competencias del docente y lograr un mejor desempeño de su práctica pedagógica, asimismo continuar afirmando también el rol de liderazgo pedagógico del directivo. El objetivo que pretende la propuesta es lograr el uso adecuado de estrategias metodológicas del docente, el mismo que se constituye en un desafío para mejorar aprendizajes. El sustento teórico en el que se afirma la propuesta es el enfoque por competencias y del liderazgo centrado en los aprendizajes y desde el marco de la gestión escolar es la gestión por procesos, con la finalidad de lograr la mejora de los resultados de aprendizaje en la institución educativa. Producto de esta propuesta se concluye que se logrará el objetivo general si en el plan de acción se evidencia la participación de los actores en conjunto, principalmente de los docentes en su mejora estrategias que conlleva a demostrar aprendizajes por competencias.

Although ingratiatory behaviors have been investigated by social psychologists for almost twenty-five years, and have been discussed as being used in organizational settings as an upward influence strategy, few empirical studies have explored the use of ingratiation in organizations. The intent of this study has been to empirically investigate the use of ingratiatory behaviors in organizational settings. In doing so, a theory-based rationale for the occurrence of ingratiatory behaviors in organizational settings was developed. The framework developed for this study examined ingratiation as both an individually initiated and organizationally induced behavior. Next, a scale was developed to measure the frequency with which employees resort to ingratiatory behaviors in relationships with their superiors. Finally, a series of research propositions about the occurrence of ingratiatory behaviors in organizations were tested across a variety of organizational settings.

Memoria para optar al grado de Licenciado en Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales
La presente memoria tiene como objetivo exponer el tratamiento de datos personales por instituciones bancarias y financieras, extendiéndolo a todos los agentes que realicen operaciones crediticias o comerciales en las que se vean envueltos o relacionados con este tipo de datos (patrimoniales, financiero o comerciales), considerando para ello el marco normativo actual y los proyectos de ley tramitados en el Honorable Congreso Nacional, para finalmente realizar un análisis crítico de la situación actual del sistema y proponer algunas alternativas de solución. En el primer capítulo, se realiza una breve descripción de la materia a tratar, desde sus orígenes a la actualidad, en él se intenta introducir al lector en los conceptos básicos sobre la materia, las fuentes de la legislación y los objetivos de las disposiciones existentes; el segundo capítulo, se enfoca en el sistema de información comercial, presentando su historia, las instituciones o agentes que participan en él y los proyectos de ley que actualmente se tramitan o se han tramitado en el Congreso Nacional; en el tercer capítulo, se revisan los mecanismos de protección para hacer efectivos los derechos de los titulares de los datos personales, principalmente el recurso de protección, las acciones en sede civil, entre otros mecanismos; el cuarto capítulo trata sobre el proyecto de ley N°7886-03, cuyo objetivo es subsanar la actual escasez normativa sobre el tratamiento de datos personales patrimoniales, mediante la creación de un nuevo sistema de obligaciones económicas, exponiendo para ello sus motivaciones y principales innovaciones, para posteriormente efectuar un análisis crítico de lo propuesto. Finalmente, en el último capítulo, a partir de lo desarrollado se elaboran las conclusiones de la presente memoria, realizando un diagnóstico del 8 estado actual del sistema y de los proyectos de ley en tramitación, además de plantear posibles soluciones o mejoras al sistema de información comercial

We live in a time in which services tend to be exclusive and personalized. This context favors the insertion of Personal Trainer in the daily lives of people who are looking for style healthier life, which increases the supply of this service in the market and makes the competitive landscape in terms capitation customers. Thus, it is essential that professionals in this area to use marketing techniques to not only show what they do, but to differentiate and attract more consumers interested in their services. This work aimed to analyze how the Personal Trainer uses the marketing dissemination and promotion of its activities, and to evaluate the degree of importance of marketing in the process, raise the marketing strategies used to promote their services and identify the academic education contributes to the use of marketing strategies. The study is qualitative, exploratory and used a semi-structured interview to 15 Personals Trainers who work in the city of São Paulo. Data were categorized with the help of software ATLAS.ti 6.2 through content analysis and the results generated suggest that the Personal Trainer uses communication as greater dissemination strategy and promotion of their services, and the mouth marketing to mouth, display and social networks - Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp - its main means to reach customers. Respondents understand the importance of marketing and management to manage his career, however 80% said that graduation did not offer enough content to work as a Personal Trainer.
Vivemos em um momento no qual os serviços tendem a ser exclusivos e personalizados. Esse contexto favorece a inserção do Personal Trainer no cotidiano das pessoas que estão em busca por estilos de vida mais saudáveis, o que aumenta a oferta desse serviço no mercado e torna o cenário mais competitivo em termos capitação de clientes. Dessa forma, é imprescindível que os profissionais dessa área se utilizem de técnicas de marketing para não só mostrar aquilo que fazem, mas para diferenciar e atrair mais consumidores interessados em seus serviços. Esta dissertação teve como principal objetivo analisar como o Personal Trainer utiliza o marketing na divulgação e promoção da sua atividade, além de avaliar o grau de importância do marketing nesse processo, levantar as estratégias de marketing utilizadas para a promoção dos seus serviços e identificar se a formação acadêmica contribui para utilização de estratégias de marketing. O estudo é qualitativo, exploratório e se utilizou de um roteiro semiestruturado para entrevistar 15 Personais Trainers que trabalham na cidade de São Paulo. Os dados coletados foram categorizados com o auxílio do software ATLAS.ti 6.2 por meio da análise de conteúdo e os resultados gerados levam a crer que o Personal Trainer utiliza a comunicação como maior estratégia de divulgação e promoção dos seus serviços, sendo o marketing boca a boca, indicação e redes sociais – Facebook, Instagram e Whatsapp – seus principais meios para chegar aos clientes. Os entrevistados compreendem a importância do marketing e da gestão para gerir sua carreira, no entanto 80% apontam que a graduação não ofereceu conteúdo suficiente para se trabalhar como Personal Trainer.

Personal and Body Area Networks (PAN/BAN) are spontaneously formed through the participation of a number of devices, using wireless technologies. They are considered to be components of larger Personal Networks (PN), which include clusters formed at a user's points of interest. In such a dynamic environment, a Service Discovery (SD) process is required for the detection of participating devices and their offered services and capabilities. In the course of this research, SD requirements in wireless personal networks were identified and the suitability of some of the existing protocols was investigated. Contributions of the research are listed below. 1) New PN Service Discovery and Management Platform (PNSDP & PNSMP): This is a generic platform that considers the characteristics of PNs, and is inter-operable with Bluetooth Service Discovery Protocol (SDP), Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP) of Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Service Location Protocol (SLP). Furthermore, a new solution for enabling IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Service Session Management in PNs was proposed. 2) Optimised structure for PNSDP: An analytical evaluation was performed to aid in the proposal of the optimised structure for PNSDP. The results suggest that the most appropriate solutions are registry-based discovery within the clusters, peer-to-peer discovery in the infrastructure network, and the use of the binary format for SD messaging. 3) Interoperability between SD legacy protocols within PNSDP: The results of an experimental evaluation of the performance of the Bluetooth SDP suggest that it is better to use the search operation instead of the browse. In ad hoc networks, the SD time and the success rate (SR) of the SSDP were evaluated (through computing simulations) employing different levels and types of background traffics, showing the non-sensitivity of the SD time to congestion. A new (single- and multi-PAN) mobility model was proposed and the SLP was evaluated in terms of the SR, SD time and cost. One of the important results in using registry-based SLP was the increasing of the SR by ~60% at an energy cost increase of ~25% in the multi-PAN case. 4) Enhanced SLP (ESLP): Three new techniques were proposed and evaluated: sleep mode for the service nodes (ESLPi), multi-tier discovery for the convergence algorithm (ESLP2), and scope-based clustering (ESLP3). The achieved results indicate a reduction in energy expenditure of up to 3-5%, as well as a lower SD time in ESLP1 and ESLP3 and a higher SR in ESLP3.

El sector salud se ha visto inmerso en la evolución continua a nivel tecnológico tanto para la atención del paciente como así para diferentes tareas a realizar, ya sean administrativas, de investigación, educación, y comunicación entre otras tantas necesarias para su accionar. Los profesionales de enfermería deben estar a la altura de dicha vanguardia y así mejorar la calidad de atención de cuidados plasmando saberes y quehaceres que se ponen en manifiesto a la hora de mantener una evolución constante en todas las áreas programáticas de enfermería. El uso de herramientas informáticas ya sean básicas o avanzadas por todo plantel y profesionales de enfermería debe ser adecuado, certero, verídico y practico en su función. Objetivo: Conocer qué conocimientos, básicos o avanzados, posee el personal de enfermería en el uso de herramientas informáticas. Diseño Metodológico: Esta investigación se producirá bajo la modalidad de estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo exploratorio y transversal, considerándolo el más adecuado para la misma. Conclusión: En cuanto a los resultados obtenidos del uso de herramientas informáticas básicas o avanzadas se pudo observar que el personal de enfermería posee algún tipo de conocimientos en dicha materia, pero necesita ser capacitado para su nivelación en saberes para poder implementar las mismas. Sugerencias: Concientizar y capacitar al personal de enfermería en las nuevas tecnologías y sus usos a nivel salud para poder brindar una mejor calidad de atención en cuidados, entre otras tantas tareas que le competen y así poner en excelencia dicha profesión.

El presente plan de acción tiene por finalidad atender uno de los problemas priorizados en la institución educativa Nº 033 ·Amigos de Jesús”, el cual es: Inadecuada aplicación de los procesos didácticos del área de Personal Social, este problema dificulta el logro de aprendizajes de nuestros estudiantes y tiene que ver con el ejercicio del liderazgo pedagógico ya que para identificar el problema y dar solución al mismo se realiza un trabajo colaborativo y consensuado. En este sentido el plan permite comprometer la participación de todos los actores de la comunidad educativa. Para solucionar la problemática identificada que tiene como objetivo general: “Promover la adecuada aplicación de los procesos didácticos del área de Personal Social en educación inicial, como objetivos específicos se han considerado los siguientes: Fomentar el conocimiento de los enfoques del área Personal Social, promover el manejo adecuado de las estrategias en las actividades de aprendizaje, promover el uso creativo del material educativo, fomentar el cumplimiento de los acuerdos que se toman en el equipo de trabajo, optimizar el tiempo para el monitoreo y acompañamiento y reuniones de interaprendizaje. Se plantea como alternativa de solución la implementación de una Comunidad Profesional de Aprendizaje para promover la aplicación de los procesos didácticos del área de Personal Social en nuestra institución. Esta propuesta se sustenta en los aportes de la teoría del desarrollo social (Vygotsky, 1948) quien considera al sujeto activo, construye su propio aprendizaje a partir del estímulo del medio social mediatizado por un agente y vehiculizado por el lenguaje. En conclusión este trabajo ha permitido identificar de modo sistemático un problema y abordar su solución de manera participativa.

In Italy the small number of studies about prison, and especially about prison officers, could preclude, not only to researchers but also to many other people involved in this social context, the tools to understand and interpret the prison world, a world that is very complex and various. The aim of this research is to study the prison officers world using a multi-methods approach. Firstly with a survey focused on the prison officers’ opinion about their working environment (the Multidimensional Organization Health Questionnaire – MOHQ - was distributed to the officers that were working in the nine Veneto’s prisons). Secondly with an ethnography, made in the Padua’s casa di reclusione, focused on the interpersonal relationship inside prison and on the main features of prison officers tasks. Survey results’ highlighted that prison officers judged positively the role and tasks clarity inside prison, the communication sharing, the problem solving efficiency, the availability and the communication among colleagues. Furthermore, conflicts among prison officers seems to be very low. These positive aspect are counterbalanced by some negative ones: the environmental comfort and security, the openness to innovation and the opportunities offered by the job. To be a prison officer is even considered an hard work, especially from the “mental” standpoint. From the analysis of variance (ANOVA) emerged how some variables can influence the prison officers judgments. These variables are: prison type, age, the length of the service, the rank, the typology of the working hour, the amount of time passed together with prisoners, the amount of working hour made each weeks and the belonging to the “reparto” or the “nucleo traduzione piantonamenti”. Survey’s results was useful to decide what to study during the ethnography. From the study of the relationship among colleagues, a topic that was judged positively in the survey, emerged that professional solidarity is very important in this job. This solidarity must be shown to colleagues everyday and seems to be stronger among those that share a lot of time together doing the most dangerous and problematic task. Prison officers-prisoners relationship seems to be based on some strong prejudices from the former to the latter. Prisoners are blamed and stigmatized for their crimes and their condemnations. They are considered “calculating” and “selfish individuals” that always try to take advantage of any goodwill shown by staff and by volunteers. It seems that most of the prison officers see prisoners in this way, contributing to construct the “prison officers’ common sense”, a specific, taken-for-granted and a-critically accepted way of seeing the prison world. This attitude towards prisoners push prison officers to be “always on the alert”, in order to be always ready and careful. This is particularly true for those that work in the detention wings, the places where prisoners’ frustrations and sufferings are higher. In the detention wings the main prison officers’ tasks are: the control of the prisoners and the control of their cells in order to avoid escapes, attempted suicides and other critical episodes; the management of the prisoners’ movements from the wings to other places inside prison; the management of the entry of volunteers or other staff members inside the wing; the communication with the colleagues that work in other places of the prison; the management of the many prisoners’ requests and problems. It is through prisoners’ control and management that prison officers try to keep order inside prison. An order that is always negotiated and precarious.
In Italia la scarsa presenza di studi relativi al contesto penitenziario ed in particolar modo agli operatori di polizia penitenziaria rappresenta un aspetto problematico che può precludere ai ricercatori, ma non solo, gli strumenti adatti per comprendere ed interpretare un mondo tanto complesso e variegato quale il carcere. Obiettivo della ricerca svolta è stato quello di studiare il mondo del personale di polizia penitenziaria e per farlo abbiamo seguito un percorso multi-metodo. In primo luogo un’inchiesta censuaria che si è concentrata sull’opinione degli operatori circa il proprio ambiente lavorativo (al personale dei nove istituti di pena del veneto è stato somministrato il questionario multidimensionale della salute organizzativa - MOHQ). In secondo luogo un’etnografia, svolta presso la casa di reclusione di Padova, che si è focalizzata sulle relazioni interpersonali all’interno del carcere e sulle caratteristiche del lavoro del personale. I risultati dell’inchiesta censuaria hanno evidenziato come il personale giudichi in maniera positiva la chiarezza dei ruoli e dei compiti, l’accesso alle informazioni utili per il proprio lavoro quotidiano, l’efficienza nel risolvere i problemi, la disponibilità e la collaborazione fra colleghi. La conflittualità fra il personale appare, inoltre, decisamente contenuta. A fare da contraltare a questi giudizi positivi ce ne sono altri di tipo negativo: il comfort e la sicurezza ambientale, l’apertura all’innovazione e le opportunità offerte dal lavoro. Il lavoro è considerato, inoltre, particolarmente faticoso, soprattutto da un punto di vista “mentale” piuttosto che “fisico”. Dall’analisi della varianza (ANOVA) è emerso come alcune variabili ricoprano un ruolo molto importante nell’orientare i giudizi del personale di polizia penitenziaria. Tra queste variabili ricordiamo la tipologia di istituto (casa circondariale, casa di reclusione), l’età anagrafica, l’anzianità di servizio, la qualifica, la tipologia dell’orario di lavoro (turni/lavoro svolto sempre nello stesso orario), la quantità di tempo lavorativo passato a stretto contatto con i detenuti, l’ammontare di ore settimanali lavorative che mediamente un operatore svolge e, infine, l’appartenenza al reparto o al nucleo traduzioni piantonamenti. I risultati di questa prima fase ci hanno dato delle informazioni particolarmente utili che hanno indirizzato i focus d’indagine dell’etnografia. Nell’analizzare i rapporti fra colleghi, che sono stati giudicati particolarmente positivi nel corso dell’indagine censuaria, è emerso come la solidarietà di corpo sia particolarmente importante fra gli operatori di polizia penitenziaria. Una solidarietà che va dimostrata giorno dopo giorno e che pare rafforzarsi soprattutto fra coloro che condividono molto tempo assieme svolgendo le mansioni maggiormente delicate e problematiche. Il rapporto fra personale e detenuti pare essere basato, invece, su dei profondi pregiudizi da parte dei primi nei confronti dei secondi. I detenuti vengono biasimati e stigmatizzati per il reato che hanno commesso, considerati “furbi” ed “opportunisti”, sempre pronti a trarre dei vantaggi e benefici da qualsiasi occasione. Questo modo di vedere i detenuti pare essere condiviso dalla maggior parte degli agenti e sembra andare a costruire quello che potremmo chiamare “il senso comune degli operatori penitenziari”, un modo, cioè, di guardare al mondo carcerario dato per scontato ed accettato acriticamente. Tale modo di porsi nei confronti della popolazione ristretta spinge inevitabilmente il personale a dover “stare sempre all’erta”, sempre pronto ed attento. Ciò risulta particolarmente evidente per gli operatori che prestano servizio presso le sezioni detentive, quelle aree, cioè, dove si catalizzano maggiormente le sofferenze e le frustrazioni dei detenuti. Presso le sezioni detentive i principali compiti del personale sono: controllare i detenuti attraverso la conta, la battitura delle celle e le perquisizioni a campione; gestire i movimenti dei detenuti presso altre aree del carcere; gestire gli ingressi in sezione delle altre figure professionali e dei volontari; comunicare con le altre aree del carcere; gestire le numerose richieste e lamentele dei detenuti. Controllo e gestione della popolazione reclusa rappresentano modalità attraverso le quali il personale cerca di mantenere l’ordine all’interno degli istituti. Un ordine spesso precario e negoziato, perennemente in “bilico”, il cui equilibrio va trovato attraverso una serie di piccoli aggiustamenti quotidiani.

Esta memoria se divide en dos partes. En el primer segmento trato de ver el tema del cuerpo analizándolo por medio de sociólogos y cuál es su relación con la ropa. Después desde el punto de vista de algunos artistas internacionales como Carolee Schneeman, Orlan, Vanessa Beecroft y en Chile menciono al artista Luis Guerra con su Trilogía del Cuerpo. 7 Luego haré una pequeña división sobre la sexualización e hipersexualización del cuerpo por medio de los géneros y la indumentaria, comentando casos dentro de la televisión adulta e infantil y de lugares de esparcimiento alternativos. Finalizaré esta parte hablando de dos artistas que usan el cuerpo como medio desarrollo en su obra y lo relacionaré en función al género y la sexualidad, estos artistas serán Carlos Leppe con su obra El Perchero y Yasumasa Morimura con La Historia del Arte. La segunda parte corresponde a explicar la importancia de la moda en la vida cotidiana por medio de algunos sociólogos, comentando también datos de historia de la moda y reflexionando sobre el tema del estilo que se lleva en Chile para vestir, previamente comentando como algunos artistas de la música intentan bajar la alta costura a la baja cultura.

In recent years, an increasing number of personalised services that require users to disclose personal information have appeared on the Web (e.g. social networks, governmental sites, on-line selling sites). By disclosing their personal information, users are given access to a wide range of new functionality and benefits. However, there exists a risk that their personal information is misused. To strike a balance between the advantages of personal information disclosure and protection of information, governments have created legal frameworks, such as the Data Protection Act, Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) or Safe Harbor, which place restrictions on how organisations can process personal information. By auditing the way in which organisations used personal data, it is possible to determine whether they process personal information in accordance with the appropriate frameworks. The traditional way of auditing collects evidence in a manual way. This evidence is later analysed to assess the degree of compliance to a predefined legal framework. These manual assessments are long, since large amounts of data need to be analysed, and they are unreliable, since there is no guarantee that all data is correctly analysed. As several cases of data leaks and exposures of private data have proven, traditional audits are also prone to intentional and unintentional errors derived from human intervention. Therefore, this thesis proposes a provenance-based approach to auditing the use of personal information by securely gathering and analysing electronic evidence related to the processing of personal information. This approach makes three contributions to the state of art. The first contribution is the Provenance-based Auditing Architecture that defies a set of communication protocols to make existing systems provenance-aware. These protocols specify which provenance information should be gathered to verify the compliance with the Data Protection Act. Moreover, we derive a set of Auditing Requirements by analysing a Data Protection Act case study and demonstrate that provenance can be used as electronic evidence of past processing. The second contribution is the Compliance Framework, which is a provenance-based auditing framework for automatically auditing the compliance with the Data Protection Act's principles. This framework consist of a provenance graph representation (Processing View), a novel graph-based rule representation expressing processing rules (Usage Rules Definition) and a novel set of algorithms that automatically verify whether information was processed according to the Auditing Requirements by comparing the Processing View against the Usage Rules Definition. The third contribution is the Secure Provenance-based Auditing Architecture that ensures any malicious alteration on provenance during the entire provenance life cycle of recording, storage, querying and analysis can be detected. This architecture, which relies on cryptographic techniques, guarantees the correctness of the audit results

The fundamental questions raised in Derek Parfit's Reasons and Persons are 'what persons are?' and 'how they continue to exist?'. In discussing the concept of a person, Parfit considers these three questions: (1) What is the nature of a person? (2) What makes a person at two different times one and the same person? and (3) What is necessarily involved in the continued existence of each person over time? Parfit then distinguishes these two views about the nature of a person. * That persons are separately existing entities distinct from brains and bodies and their experiences. They continue to exist, although we know of their continuity because of thoughts, sensations and experiences that they have. * That persons are not separetely existing entities, distinct from our brains and bodies. The existence of a person, during any period, just consists in the existence of his brain and body, and the thinking of his thoughts, and the doing of his deeds, and the occurrence of many other physical and mental events. Parfit has not gone into a detailed discussion about the Buddhist view. My concern is that Parfit draws out of context from Buddhism and claims that the above second view to which according to him the Buddha would have agreed is true. Parfit's belief is that this is the truth about ourselves. But, coming to this view, Buddhism has considered not just the missing personal identity view. Buddhism talks about the 'being'. "All living beings are mortal and all forms are to disappear". Buddhism has an ontological view which grasps not only human beings but all other living beings in terms of impermanancy. It is the second, Reductionist view, that Parfit finds liberating and consoling which makes him less concerned about his own future, and his own death, and more concern about others. Here, the difference between the Buddha and Parfit is in what they do with the philosophical proposition once they arrive at it. For Buddha, realisation of this true belief is the starting point in practising the moral disciplinary path to attain the final goal of Nirvana, the cessation of suffering. My aim here will be to question Parfit on his understanding of Buddhism and how he has used Buddhist quotations to support his theory. My method will be to collect contexts in the early Buddhist texts in which the self is talked about, and to consider the various translations and commentarial explanations to see what makes the best sense of the concept of self that Parfit talks about in those contexts.

England has recently introduced a nationwide electronic personal health record (ePHR) called Patient Online. Although ePHRs are widely available, adoption rates of ePHRs are usually low. Understanding the factors affecting patients’ use of ePHRs is considered important to increase adoption rates and improve the implementation success of ePHRs. Therefore, the current study aims to examine the factors that affect patients’ adoption of ePHRs in England. A systematic review was conducted to identify factors that affect patients’ adoption of ePHRs. Then, the most common theories and models relevant to technology adoption and human behaviour were reviewed to select an appropriate theory and use it as a theoretical lens for examining the factors in the current study. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was selected and tailored to the context of ePHRs by including the most influential factors identified by the systematic review. A cross-sectional survey of 624 patients in four general practices in West Yorkshire was carried out to empirically examine the proposed model via structural equation modelling. The results showed that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and perceived privacy and security were significant predictors of behavioural intention. The relationship between social influence and behavioural intention was not statistically significant. Both facilitating conditions and behavioural intention affected use behaviour. Performance expectancy was also a significant mediator of the effect of both effort expectancy and perceived privacy and security on behavioural intention. Eleven relationships were moderated by age, sex, income, education, ethnicity, and internet access. The proposed model accounted for 76% and 48% of the variance in behavioural intention and use behaviour, respectively. The current study makes a significant contribution by adapting and validating a theoretical model (UTAUT) in a new context (ePHRs). Further, this study contributes to practices by providing several implications for developers, marketers, and GP practices.

El objetivo del estudio fue establecer la relación, por asociación, entre el uso pedagógico de Facebook, teniendo en cuenta: uso, adopción y propósito, y la autoeficacia docente; considerando estrategias de enseñanza, gestión del aula y participación escolar. Para dicho fin, se construyeron pruebas ad hoc para medir las variables seleccionadas. La muestra fue de 50 docentes de secundaria quienes usan Facebook con fines pedagógicos en siete escuelas públicas de Lima – Perú. Los resultados evidencian la existencia de asociación entre las variables de estudio, mas no entre todas las subvariables. Se discuten los resultados y se plantean líneas de investigación futuras.

El propósito de este estudio fue conocer el uso didáctico de las herramientas de la Web 2.0 por los docentes del área de Comunicación de educación secundaria de la Red Educativa Nº 03 de la UGEL Tacna. Las subvariables seleccionadas fueron herramientas para la comunicación; creación y publicación de contenidos y gestión del conocimiento. Esta investigación corresponde a un enfoque metodológico cuantitativo y a un diseño no-experimental descriptivo del tipo encuesta. Los resultados indican que la mayoría de docentes de la muestra no utiliza las herramientas de la Web 2.0 en sus estrategias de enseñanza, por lo que se deduce que aún utilizan metodologías didácticas de corte tradicional. Se identifica también que las herramientas más utilizadas, aunque no con fines didácticos, fueron la red social Facebook y la herramienta de creación y publicación de contenidos Youtube. The purpose of this study was to know the didactic use of Web 2.0 tools for teachers in subject of Communication for Secondary Education in Nº 03 net UGEL Tacna. The selected subvariables were communication, creation and publication of contents and knowledge management. This research corresponds to a quantitative methodological approaching and non-experimental descriptive type survey design. The results indicate that the majority of teachers in the sample does not use Web 2.0 tools in teaching strategies, so it follows that they still use traditional court teaching methods. It also identifies that the tools used, but not for teaching purposes, were the social network Facebook and tool creation and publication of contents Youtube. There is identified also that the most used tools, though not with didactic ends, were the social network Facebook and the tool of creation and publication of contents Youtube. The results suggest forming teachers who accredit the use and domain of strategies based on the tools of the Web 2.0.

La importancia del Plan de Acción, se justifica en el análisis de las causas que origina el inadecuado uso del tiempo efectivo en aula de las docentes del nivel primaria; formulando alternativas de solución para lograr aprendizajes significativos en los estudiantes. Plantea como objetivo general: lograr un adecuado uso del tiempo efectivo en el aula, de las docentes del nivel primaria mediante el fortalecimiento de capacidades docentes en el conocimiento y uso del tiempo efectivo durante el desarrollo de las sesiones de aprendizaje; como objetivos específicos: Planificar racionalmente las actividades en las sesiones de aprendizaje; Desarrollar el enfoque inclusivo para la equidad en los aprendizajes de niños y niñas; Fortalecer los espacios de participación en el aula; Realizar adecuado monitoreo y acompañamiento pedagógico. La teoría está orientada a las categorías y subcategorías; la categoría: Planificación estratégica de actividades de aprendizaje (Gamarra, 2015) cuya subcategoría principal Planificación estratégica; logra que las docentes planifiquen estratégicamente sus actividades de aprendizaje, logrando aprendizajes significativos. La segunda categoría: Estilos y ritmos de aprendizaje (MINEDU, 2016) y su subcategoría principal: Enfoque inclusivo, logra que las docentes consideren los estilos y ritmos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes, motivándolos para que culminen sus actividades de aprendizaje. La tercera categoría: Regulación del comportamiento de los estudiantes (M3; Pág. 11) y la subcategoría principal: Inserción al proceso de aprendizaje logra que las docentes fortalezcan los espacios de participación en el aula, involucrándolos en el proceso de aprendizaje. La cuarta categoría: Monitoreo y acompañamiento pedagógico (MINEDU, 2014) con su subcategoría principal: Monitoreo y acompañamiento pedagógico, logra mejorar la práctica pedagógica centrada en la enseñanza. Como conclusión: el uso adecuado del tiempo efectivo en aula, se logra con la planificación estratégica y selección adecuada de las actividades de aprendizaje, asignado el tiempo adecuado para cada una de ellas.

Esta dissertação apresenta um questionamento sobre a construção do papel cênico dentro de processos em que há a desvinculação entre o ator e a personagem. A pesquisa analisa os procedimentos empregados no processo criativo do espetáculo Dorotéia, do grupo Panacéia Delirante - no qual as atrizes se revezam na interpretação dos principais papéis da peça - com o intuito de discutir alternativas de composição no desempenho cênico. São averiguadas também as possíveis contribuições da citada desvinculação para a aprendizagem do ator. Para tanto, a pesquisa examina as referências teóricas e visuais usadas no processo criativo, assim como registros gerados durante a montagem. Além disso, o estudo agrega outros materiais bibliográficos sobre o tema, apresentando conceitos que não foram discutidos no processo de construção do espetáculo, mas que trazem contribuições que poderiam aprofundar as reflexões em torno do tema da pesquisa. No que diz respeito à composição da personagem em casos de desvinculação, parte-se da hipótese de que o uso de imagens iconográficas e figurativas pode ser um instrumento capaz de dar direcionamento às diferentes elaborações cênicas, funcionando como um ponto de partida comum para a criação. Fotografias, pinturas e gravuras pode se converter em um referencial concreto que oriente os atores em suas elaborações, enquanto o exercício da imaginação condiciona o intérprete a responder de maneira rápida e criativa às provocações do processo. Na elaboração das personagens do espetáculo foram utilizadas pinturas de Edgard Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec e gravuras da prancha do Continuum do Reflexo de Susto retiradas do livro Anatomia Emocional, de Stanley Keleman. Dorotéia é um texto de Nelson Rodrigues – a encenação em discussão estreou em 2010 em Salvador, sob a direção de Hebe Alves.

Bakgrund: Personer som injicerar droger riskerar att drabbas av allvarliga infektioner. Tidigare studier har visat att personal som möter personer i risk inte har tillräckligt med kunskap för att erbjuda hälsofrämjande insatser. Syfte:Att kartlägga personalens kunskap om infektioner som kan drabba personer som injicerar droger,samt undersöka om utbildnings intervention ökar personalens kunskap och motivation till preventiva samtal. Metod:Totalt genomfördes fem utbildningar med 26 deltagare från psykiatri-, och infektionsavdelning, samt ungdomsmottagning. Studien genomfördes med enkät före och en månad efter utbildning. Enkäten innehöll kunskapsfrågor och frågor om erfarenhet av preventionssamtal med personer i risk. Resultat:Studien visade att personalen saknade tillräcklig kunskap om smitta vid injektion av droger och att personer i risk inte i tillräcklig omfattning erbjöds information och stöd. Innan utbildning skulle enbart 60 % av personalen samtala om smitta vid injektion av droger om de fick frågor av personer i risk. Hinder för samtal uppgavs vara brist på kunskap och osäkerhet på hur frågorna skulle tas emot vid samtal. Personalens upplevda och faktiska kunskap visade på en signifikant förbättring efter utbildningsinterventionen (p<0,001). Utbildningen upplevdes som relevant och 80 % av deltagarna önskade ytterligare utbildning i form av föreläsningar på arbetsplatsen och handledning av sakkunnig. Konklusion:För att kunna erbjuda personer som injicerar droger hälsofrämjande insatserkrävs att personal har tillgång till anpassad utbildningoch aktivt stödutifrån verksamhetensbehov
Background:People who inject drugs are at risk of contracting severe infections. Previous studies have shown that personnel meeting people at risk often lack sufficient knowledge to offer health promotion measures. Aims:This study aimed to investigate knowledge among personnel about infectious diseases contracted due to injecting drugs and determine whether educational intervention can increase knowledge and motivation for preventive communication. Methods:We administered a total of five courses to 26 healthcare workers employed in an infectious diseases department, psychiatric clinic, and youth counseling clinic. The study was conducted with questionnaires before and one month after completing the courses. The questionnaires included questions about disease facts, and workers’ experience regarding preventive conversations with people at risk. Results:The study revealed that respondent slacked sufficient knowledge about infections associated with injecting drugs, and that people at risk did not receive adequate information and support. Before education, only 60% of respondents would consider talking about infections contracted while injecting drugs if they got questions by persons at risk. Barriers to addressing such questions included lack of knowledge,and uncertainty about how the questions would be received. After the educational intervention, respondents perceived a significant improvement of knowledge (p<0,001). They perceived the coursesas relevant,and 80% of participants wanted more lectures and expert guidance in the workplace. Conclusion:Providing health promotion to persons who inject drugs requires appropriate educationfor personnel,as well as active support adapted to their needs.

In Iran, where males and females are kept separated in different spheres, Facebook may be used as an opportunity to bridge this gap between the genders. However, this study showed that Facebook, as a nonymous platform in which people are in contact with their already-made social ties, didn’t seem to be liberating from the existing norms and rules within society. Facebook was a stage that became restricted with the involvement of social ties. The study’s analysis of interviews with six young Iranians showed that social meanings and norms of self-presentation on Facebook are defined to a large degree in terms of gender. The informants used a variety of strategies when presenting themselves on Facebook. They used Facebook simply for gaining personal autonomy. Strategies were adopted especially when one’s personal and community needs were in conflict. Efforts made to apply strategies were gendered and were used mainly by females. Males conformed to and women resisted societal norms and expectations.

In the past, corporations justified investment in office automation (OA) by vague claims of increased productivity. Now, managers are reevaluating their productivity measurement systems in an effort to identify productivity gains resulting from OA. The purpose of this thesis is to present a methodology for determining the impact of OA on office productivity. This study examined the productivity of the Standard Automated Contracting System for Federal Agencies (SACONS), in a before/after quasi-experimental design that measured outputs (volume, quality of work), inputs (staff size, grade structure, overtime usage), and by-product social effects (morale, teamwork) using archival data. This framework, developed in a previous SACONS study, is used to analyze the strength of SACONS software. The results of this study were confounded by external events that adversely affected our results. Only the quality of work measure (Procurement Action Lead Time), which was reduced by 13 percent, showed a significant productivity gain. Further study of SACONS is necessary to determine its impact on office productivity

Despite the potential for unwanted consequences, college students continue to drink at high rates. Greater than 80% of college students drink alcohol and about 40% engage in occasions of heavy episodic drinking. Heavy episodic drinking among college students is associated with increased instances of verbal confrontations, physical fights, unprotected sex, vandalism, and driving while under the influence. From a dynamic ecological perspective, goals represent a context in which drinking and all other endeavors occur, as well as a third social cognitive variable worthy of investigation in alcohol studies. As a technology for studying goal constructs, personal projects (Little, 1983; 1987; 1998) are embodiments of desired attainments an individual is trying to actualize. The present study examined the ability of goal constructs (i.e., personal project attributes)to explain drinking variance, both in combination and beyond known social cognitive determinants of alcohol use. In a cross-sectional sample of 104 male and 96 female college students, results indicated that alcohol self-efficacy was the strongest predictor of alcohol consumption (b = -.38; p < .01), followed by goal involvement (b = -.23; p < .01) and negative drinking expectancies (b = -.12; p < .05). Positive drinking expectancies (b = -.42; p < .01) and goal efficacy (b = .15; p < .05) were significant determinants of alcohol efficacy. The complete model explained 33% of the variance in drinking, as measured by a 90-day timeline follow-back. The unique and indirect contributions of goal involvement are major findings of the study, indicating the viability of a dynamic ecological approach within the SCT framework.

Most adult smokers begin smoking during adolescence; nicotine dependence can develop relatively quickly and, once established, most smokers smoke for approximately 40 years. For adolescents dependent upon nicotine, cessation interventions are not well established. It is, therefore, essential that public health interventions focus on preventing initiation and maintenance and decreasing the prevalence of youth smoking. In spite of legislation to protect New Zealand adolescents, a large proportion continues to use tobacco at least weekly. Recent surveys have shown a slight decrease in cigarette smoking prevalence, overall, but, no reduction and marked increases have been reported within some subgroups. The overall aim of this research was to identify school and personal factors associated with secondary school students smoking. The specific research objectives included: a) identifying factors at the personal, family, peer, school and 'tobacco-genic' environment levels which were associated with regular and established cigarette smoking; b) describing the extent of smoke-free policy and health education programmes in secondary schools; and, c) evaluating the relations between cigarette smoking among students and potential protective factors, smoke-free policies and practices and health education programmes. The research was based on data from 3,434 secondary school students from 82 schools. The multi-stage sampling procedures and data analyses ensured that the results were able to be generalised to the New Zealand secondary school student population. Smoking was more prevalent amongst girls for all measures of smoking frequency and significant differences were found for smoking prevalence between ethnic groups and school decile. In terms of family influences, the smoking behaviours of parents were not associated with increased odds of smoking nor were perceived relationships between students and their parents, or exposure to SHS. In contrast, the smoking behaviour of siblings was associated with increased odds of smoking but it is likely that both student and sibling smoking are both influenced by the same processes within the family. Similarly, low levels of self-concept were not associated with increased odds for daily smoking. The smoking behaviour of a best friend was a pervasive risk factor as was a high level of disposable income, frequent episodes of unsupervised activities, and 'pro-smoking' knowledge. Being male, visiting a place of worship, and the intention to stay at school until after Year 13 reduced the odds of daily smoking among students. Multilevel models were used to identify school level effects. After adjusting for student, family and school characteristics significant between-school variance in smoking prevalence remained and this suggests that there are factors, arguably beyond the immediate control of the student or family that may influence a student�s smoking behaviour. The presence of a school effect also supports the WHO concept of 'health promoting schools' in that schools can make a difference to health outcomes. Understanding how the health promoting schools model has been interpreted and implemented in NZ schools, along with critique of the implementation of the amended legislation making all schools smoke-free, would be a pertinent 'next-step' in identifying characteristics of schools which are associated with decreased tobacco use.

La propuesta se sustenta en la teoría siguiente: los aportes de Toribio Vargas y Guerrero Ortiz, que menciona que el monitoreo y acompañamiento mejora la práctica pedagógica, también en las estrategias de comprensión lectora de Solé, así mismo de Bolívar quien señala la importancia de los padres de familia en la educación de sus hijos. La metodología empleada procede de la investigación acción, lo cual ha permitido obtener información real, directa, empleando diversas técnicas e instrumentos para comprender al docente en el uso que hace de estrategias de comprensión lectora y a partir de ahí adoptar una postura reflexiva para proponer el fortalecimiento de su práctica pedagógica.

In the new economic and social scenario increasingly globalised, affected by a process of profound technological change, organizational, productive and the real competitive advantage for the business system is increasingly adopting integrated policies and full utilization of human resources, thanks to a good national and corporate bargaining. A search enhancement through targeted investment growth of the quality characteristics, using management policies geared to achieving a conscious involvement and an adequate level of participation accountable to business goals, thanks to a healthy national and company collective bargaining: through a participatory relationship between the company and the Unions, based on mutual recognition of the diversity of roles and functions. In this context, an effective working relationship management plays a key role in company policy, because, as a result of ongoing change, human resource has ceased to be regarded as exclusively a "cost" and has become a “strategic resource”, indispensable, both for the purpose of increasing the value of the enterprise system, both for an effective pursuit of goals associated with the mission and business. In this evolutionary framework, the CCNL plays an important role in corporate management, since it can be a tool to contribute to the competitiveness and productivity of enterprises, through the participation of workers in company choices, especially in an economically difficult period as the present one. In addition, the contents of the collective agreement, in modern optics, should be structured with an innovative and interdisciplinary vision, aimed to better understand the relevant interconnections exist between economic, organizational aspects and legal, sociological and psychological. In fact, in the following pages, it emerges that is crucial to analyze simultaneously the current difficult economic situation and the tools employed to counter it, so to design both within individual dimension concerning the management of human resources, and collective, concerning Trade Union and industrial relations, a modern COLLECTIVE LABOUR AGREEMENT, business oriented, always keeping the person – worker. As we shall see, national bargaining chemical-pharmaceutical sector represents, historically, a very interesting experience, within which were often carried out innovative solutions and experiments (which, as usual in these cases, attracted acclaim and criticisms). In fact, ever since the 1947 COLLECTIVE LABOUR AGREEMENT concluded in the context of the serious crisis brought about by World War II, the contract had innovative features in relation to rules. Therefore, the element of innovation is central because it characterizes the entire text of the COLLECTIVE LABOUR AGREEMENT signed on December 18, 2009 and is also the determinant element of renewal for the period 2013-2015 (for example, as we shall see, the Bridge Project). In addition, priority will analyze not only from the standpoint of labor law (for example, by analyzing the impacts of l. 92/12 on the field), but, through a “read” and interpret the CCNL multidisciplinary as main and fundamental instrument for the management, organization and staff development. In addition, the National collective agreement of work – Pharmaceutical chemical industry has always been, and is currently a source of important innovation of models of bargaining, e.g. as regards the subjects of active policies and outplacement (Welfarma experience). Therefore, given the novelty of this COLLECTIVE LABOUR AGREEMENT and especially since it's the contract applies to workers of Liquigas S.p.A (seat of my internship), I find it necessary to analyze strengths and weaknesses of such modern CCNL. But, despite the many positive aspects of this collective agreement, as we shall see in the following pages, for some sectors to be reformed and/or revised, e.g. as regards the occupational profiles and types flexible contract, intervening where necessary by way of derogation from the new regulations, to support businesses and workers both in the current phase of economic crisis to relaunch the sector.

La grafología, es utilizada en Europa y en EEUU en procesos de Selección y Evaluación de Personas. El objetivo fue determinar si existen correlaciones entre la grafología con la inteligencia y personalidad. Como hipótesis, se consideró que estas tres variables se relacionan entre sí. Es un estudio de tipo correlacional. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: prueba de Inteligencia (GATB), prueba de Personalidad (EPI forma B) y la prueba grafológica. La muestra contó con 130 personas, de ambos géneros entre 19 a 53 años y de diferente grado educativo que fueron evaluados en una consultora dedicada a la Evaluación y Selección de Personal. Se usaron la media, desviación estándar, el coeficiente Rho de Spearman, etc. Los resultados fueron: existe correlación entre inteligencia y extroversión (0,181); entre inteligencia y neuroticismo (-0,303). La relación entre Personalidad y Grafología se observa en el Neuroticismo y la variable Grafológica Dimensión (0,205). La relación entre Inteligencia y Grafología se da entre el coeficiente intelectual (CI) y la variable Grafológica Rapidez (0,256). Como conclusiones, tenemos: las variables grafológicas se relacionan de manera no elevada pero si significativa con rasgos específicos de personalidad (el neuroticismo con la variable grafológica dimensión) e inteligencia (el CI con la variable grafológica rapidez).

Water, and particularly clean water is essential for humans with a profound effect on health and has the capacity to reduce illnesses. Paradoxical, water is a medium where disease causing agents could be transmitted into the human body. Water can cause illness both from distribution of pathogenic organisms into the human system and also if not consumed in a required amount, leading to dehydration and other complications. Today catastrophes and disasters hit different areas in various forms. When such an event occurs, infrastructure is often disturbed or destroyed, and the supply of fresh water may be threatened. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) is a government agency in Sweden, with a task to developing the community’ssocietal ability to prevent and handle emergencies, accidents and crises. The agency support various actors when a crisis or an accident occurs, both abroad and at a national level. The personnelal supporting at a crisis zone is sometimes working under extreme conditions where basic needs, such as access to food and fresh water can be a deficiency. To ensure that the personnel working at these sites can continue to solve problems without risking their own health caused by dehydration or other waterborne diseases, different methods can be used to treat water for personal use. Five different products intended for personal water treatment are chlorine dioxide pills, chlorine dioxide liquid, the Katadyn filter bottle, the Lifesaver filter bottle and the UV-lamp SteriPEN. These products use different water treatment techniques to purify water and secure the access to fresh water during exposed conditions. The aim with this study is to create an information basis in order for MSB to choose water treatment product for their future international missions. This is done by examine four parameters of these different products; purification capacity, manageability, environmental impact and economic aspects. The study showed that there is no product that pervading is best according to all parameters, they all have their pros and cons. The product that was best on average throughout the whole study is the SteriPEN but only if used during 10 or more missions. If a product should be used for only five or fewer missions, the chlorine dioxide liquid is recommended to use. At sites where the raw water is heavily contaminated a combination of two products could be an option, as a result of this thesis it is recommended to combine the chlorine dioxide liquid and the SteriPEN. This study is done qualitative and the result is based on literature, laboratorial reports and own measurements and calculations. Actual field tests are needed to further evaluate the products. The importance is that the product functions practically during MSBs working conditions, so relief workers really applicate the product to purify water and not refrain because it is not compatible with the working situations. If the product isn’t used because of these reasons it shouldn’t be used because it puts the relief workers at health risks.
Vatten, och i synnerhet rent vatten är livsavgörande för människor och har en grundlig hälsoeffekt med en förmåga att reducera hälsoåkommor. Paradoxalt nog är vatten samtidigt ett transportmedium för ämnen som orsakar sjukdomar. Vatten kan orsaka sjukdom och illamående både från distributionen av patogena ämnen in i människokroppen men också om intaget av vatten inte är tillräckligt för kroppen, vilket kan leda till uttorkning med stora komplikationer. Idag drabbas vissa områden av katastrofer och olyckor i varierande form. När sådana kriser och katastrofer sker, blir ofta infrastruktur skadad eller förstörd vilket kan medföra att tillgången till rent vatten hotas. Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap (MSB) är en myndighet i Sverige, med uppgift att utveckla social kapacitet för att motverka och hantera nödsituationer, olyckor och kriser. Myndigheten stödjer olika aktörer när en kris eller olycka uppstår, både utomlands och på nationell nivå. Personalen som stödjer på plats i en kriszon arbetar ibland under extrema förhållanden där basala nödvändigheter, som t.ex. tillgången till mat och rent vatten kan vara en bristvara. För att säkerhetsställa att personalen som arbetar på dessa platser kan fortsätta att lösa sin uppgift utan att riskera sitt eget välbefinnande på grund av vattenbrist eller andra vattenrelaterade sjukdomar, kan olika metoder för vattenrening på personlig nivå användas. I den här studien valdes fem olika produkter avsedda för personlig vattenrening ut; klordioxid i tablettform, klordioxid i vätskeform, Katadynflaskan, Lifesaverflaskan och UV-lampan SteriPEN. Dessa produkter utnyttjar olika tekniker för att rena vatten och säkerhetsställa tillgången av rent vatten under utsatta situationer. Målet med den här studien är att skapa en informationsbas som underlag för MSB att använda sig av när de väljer vattenreningsmetod för kommande internationella insatser. Fem produkter utvärderats därför utifrån fyra parametrar; reningskapacitet, handhavande, miljöpåverkan och ekonomisk aspekt. Studien visade att det inte var någon enskild produkt som genomgående var bäst utifrån alla parametrar, de hade alla sina för och nackdelar. Produkten som överlag fick bäst resultat genom studien var SteriPEN men det utifrån att produkten används under tio insatser eller mer. Om en produkt endast ska användas under ett fåtal insatser är klordioxid i vätskeform att föredra. På platser där råvattnet är skarpt kontaminerat kan en kombination av två olika produkter vara aktuell, rekommenderat är att kombinera klordioxid i vätskeform med SteriPEN, draget som slutsats av resultatet av denna studie. Det här är en kvalitativ studie och resultatet grundar sig på litteratur, analysresultat från laboratorietester samt egna mätningar och beräkningar. Faktiska tester i fält är nödvändiga för att vidare utvärdera produkterna. Det viktiga är att produkten faktiskt fungerar praktiskt baserat på förhållandena MSB arbetar under så att hjälparbetare verkligen använder produkten för att rena kontaminerat vatten och inte avstår att använda produkten på grund av att den inte är kompatibel med arbetsförhållandena. Om produkten inte används på grund av den anledningen ska den inte användas i fält då den utsätter hjälparbetarnas hälsa för risk.

High levels of personal car use have negative effects on the environment and on human health. This thesis presents four empirical studies that aimed to develop our knowledge of personal travel choices, focussing on the malleability of attitudes and their sensitivity in relation to specific contexts and goals. The first study (Chapter 2) presents a systematic review and meta-analysis of mechanisms of travel mode choice. The study provides a comprehensive overview of antecedents of car use and non-car use, including sub-group analyses of different contextual factors. Results also highlight the need for standardised measures and consideration of implicit thought processes. The second study (Chapter 3) employs a repertory grid technique to elicit perceptions of seven different transport modes from high mileage car users and non-car users. Comparisons between car users and non-car users highlight potentially effective and ineffective intervention targets. Findings show how sustainable transport might be promoted amongst a portfolio of travel choices. The third study (Chapter 4) utilises qualitative methods to explore the extent to which individuals’ attitude expressions are changeable. The study demonstrates that all participants hold ambivalent and conflicting attitudes, highlighting specific situations in which those attitudes are more likely to be unstable. Two related priming experiments are presented in the final empirical chapter (Chapter 5). Both use survey methodology to investigate whether manipulating the salience of car-use-incongruent goals can lead to more positive attitudes towards and increased willingness to use non-car travel modes. The study confirms that people who are motivated to make changes are a potentially optimal target group for interventions based on subliminal messages. Overall, the research presented in this thesis introduces context sensitivity into the transport literature and offers novel insights into perceptions of a range of travel modes. Recommendations include relevant avenues for future research, findings are discussed in light of implications for transport policy and practice.

The purpose of this research was to determine the extent of penetration of managerial workstations into the management ranks; and whether age, education and exposure to automation do affect perceptions and subsequent productivity gains from workstation utilization. Are the attitudes and beliefs of older managers the key factor in slowing progress in implementing change and reaping the benefits of productivity? Or, are companies failing in their implementation strategies and participative management approaches? A descriptive-survey design was utilized. The cover letter and three-page questionnaire were circulated to 490 companies in the five-county metropolitan Atlanta area. Represented in this sample was a cross section of public and private sector organizations. Variables addressed in the six hypotheses were: nature of workstation use; involvement in planning; perception of benefit to productivity; and preferred method of training. Data was entered into a data base for query manipulation. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, (SPSS), software was utilized for analysis, using chi-square, Cramer's V and correlation analysis. Findings support exposure to automation and the length of time the manager has been using the workstation in the daily setting, to be more influential than age. Communication with other workers via the workstation did not prove to be as strong a determinant of whether the manager perceived the workstation to be beneficial to his/her productivity. Fully supported was the positive effect of having the manager participate in the initial planning for implementation of automation. Self-study was the preferred method of training. Further research is needed on the effect of automation on decision-making and the most effective training strategies for this unique and critical population. Top managers cannot afford to ignore the value-added benefit potential to productivity afforded by managerial workstations.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) indicates protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury, in particular they are used to dissipate the energy of the impact in case of accidents. Most of PPE items should pass certain standard criteria before being introduced into the market. Moreover, beside standards, biomechanical injury criteria can be used to compare different PPE items according to the human body tolerance against external loading. Energy absorbing materials with higher capacity of energy dissipation can improve the injury mitigation capability of PPE items. Therefore, this thesis aims at studying the possibility of using new energy absorbing materials to optimize the protection level of protective devices, especially for motorcycle riders. The Finite Element Method (FEM) was mainly used to assess and compare the energy absorption capability of different materials and structures. However, experimental tests were carried out whenever possible for validation of FE models. A computational method has been developed for partial optimization of the composite-shell of an helmet to mitigate the induced neck axial force due to the facial impact. The results of this optimization show that by varying the orientation of the chin bar plies, thus keeping the helmet mass constant, the neck axial force can be reduced by approximately 30% while ensuring that the helmet complies with the impact attenuation requirements prescribed in helmet standards adopted in Europe. Moreover, the possibility of using addictively manufactured structures as the helmet liner has been studied. The results show that using a hierarchical lattice liner could reduce the risk of head injury significantly by comparison to a helmet with EPS liner and could potentially be considered as the new generation of energy absorbing liners for advanced helmets. Furthermore, experimental tests were carried out to study the feasibility of using new polymeric fibres to make helmets lighter. The results of these tests show that such polymeric fibres may be used in conjunction with carbon fibres to mold hybrid laminates to build lighter helmets. Finally, since there is no standard to design and test neck protective devices, the response of cervical vertebrae to direct impacts to the helmets in case of using such a device was studied numerically. The findings of this work show that using a neck brace designed to restrain the head-neck motion might increase the induced load in the neck and therefore the risk of cervical injuries, therefore the design of such devices needs more investigations and their assessment requires the introduction of the relevant standards.
I termini ‘Dispositivi di protezione individuale’ (DPI) indicano indumenti protettivi, caschi, occhiali di protezione o altri indumenti o attrezzature progettati per proteggere il corpo dell'utilizzatore da lesioni, in particolare i DPI sono utilizzati per dissipare l'energia dell'impatto in caso di incidenti. La maggior parte dei DPI dovrebbe superare determinati test standard prima di essere introdotta nel mercato. Inoltre, accanto alle prove di normativa, anche criteri di lesioni biomeccaniche possono essere utilizzati per confrontare diversi articoli di DPI in base alla tolleranza del corpo umano rispetto al carico esterno. I materiali che assorbono energia con maggiore capacità di dissipazione di energia possono migliorare la capacità di mitigazione degli infortuni degli articoli di DPI. Pertanto, questa tesi mira a studiare la possibilità di utilizzare nuovi materiali che assorbono energia per ottimizzare il livello di protezione dei DPI, in particolare per i motociclisti. Il metodo degli elementi finiti (FEM) è stato utilizzato principalmente per valutare la capacità di assorbimento di energia diversi materiali e strutture. Tuttavia anche test sperimentali sono stati effettuati, quando possibile, per la convalida dei modelli FE. È stato sviluppato un metodo computazionale per l'ottimizzazione parziale del guscio composito di un casco per ridurre la forza assiale indotta nel collo dall'impatto sulla testa. I risultati di questa ottimizzazione dimostrano che variando l'orientamento degli strati della mentoniera, mantenendo così la massa del casco inalterata, la forza assiale nel collo può essere ridotta di circa il 30%, mentre si assicura che il casco sia conforme ai requisiti di attenuazione dell'impatto prescritti negli standard del casco adottati in Europa. Inoltre, è stata studiata la possibilità di utilizzare strutture prodotte in modo additivo come imbottitura del casco. I risultati mostrano che l'utilizzo di un rivestimento reticolare gerarchico potrebbe ridurre significativamente il rischio di trauma cranico rispetto a un casco con tradizionale imbottitura in polistirolo, tanto che l’ imbottitura reticolare gerarchica potrebbe essere considerata come la nuova generazione di rivestimenti per l'assorbimento dell’energia in caschi avanzati. Inoltre, sono stati effettuati test sperimentali per studiare la fattibilità dell'uso di nuove fibre polimeriche per rendere i caschi più leggeri. I risultati di questi test mostrano che tali fibre polimeriche possono essere usate in congiunzione con fibre di carbonio per modellare i laminati ibridi per costruire caschi più leggeri. Infine, poiché non esiste una normativa standard per progettare e testare i dispositivi di protezione del collo, è stata studiata numericamente la risposta delle vertebre cervicali ad impatti sul casco in caso di uso di un dispositivo di protezione del collo (neck brace). I risultati di questo lavoro suggeriscono che l'uso di un collare progettato per limitare il movimento dell’insieme testa-collo potrebbe aumentare il carico indotto nel collo e quindi il rischio di lesioni cervicali. Si conclude che la progettazione di tali dispositivi richiede più indagini e la loro valutazione richiede l'introduzione di standard pertinenti.

El presente plan de acción permite fortalecer las competencias directivas y abordar la problemática existente en la Institución Educativa N°10148-“Apurlec”, para mejores logros del aprendizaje de los estudiantes a la “inadecuada utilización de los materiales pedagógicos en las sesiones de aprendizajes en la I.E. N° 10148-Apurlec-Motupe”, como objetivo general se ha propuesto promover el uso eficiente de los materiales pedagógicos para lograr aprendizajes significativos en los estudiantes del nivel secundario y como objetivos específicos los siguientes: primero actualizar a los docentes en el uso eficiente de los materiales pedagógicos, segundo sensibilizar a los docentes para la utilización y/o elaboración de materiales pedagógicos y como tercer objetivo específico es mejorar las relaciones interpersonales entre estudiantes así como también plantear como alternativa de solución la capacitación a todo el personal docente en materiales pedagógicos que les permita mejorar su práctica pedagógica y por ende mejorar el logro de los aprendizajes de los estudiantes. La propuesta de solución se sustenta en los aportes de las cinco dimensiones del liderazgo pedagógico de Viviane Robinson (2010); y los compromisos de gestión, acompañamiento y monitoreo, promovido por el liderazgo pedagógico del director y que gira en torno al uso de materiales educativos, prioriza el desarrollo de actividades de alta demanda cognitiva. En conclusión, existe un compromiso de todos los actores de mejorar su práctica pedagógica y obtener mejores logros de aprendizaje.

El presente plan de acción surge por la necesidad de solucionar un problemas determinado referente al insuficiente uso de materiales educativos importancia de ejecutar un plan que contribuirá a mejorar su práctica pedagógica referente a este aspecto; tiene como objetivos: capacitar a docentes que se empoderen de nuevas estrategias en uso y elaboración de materiales, planificación considerando las necesidades, ritmos y estilos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes y fortalecer la comunicación eficaz entre la comunidad educativa. Se han investigado categorías subcategorías como aprendizajes significativos que según Ausubel (1983) se da cuando una nueva información se relaciona con un concepto ya existente al relacionarse ambos conocimientos se formará una conexión que será el nuevo aprendizaje, la categoría denominada planificación y diversificación, según Ander-Egg (1989) es un proceso determinante para el tipo de estudiante que queremos formar y de esta manera convertir el escenario educativo en un proceso eficaz y eficiente, logrando aprendizaje significativos en cada uno de los estudiantes. También tenemos la categoría denominada estrategias para el uso y elaboración de materiales que según Rivera los materiales son todos aquellos medios o herramientas de las que se vale un docente para facilitar el proceso de enseñanza- aprendizaje. Siempre tomando en cuenta el contexto en el que se desempeña, el tipo de alumnos que posee y la institución en la que labora. El plan de acción es una propuesta planteada con el aporte de los docentes para desarrollarse en un futuro en la I.E. Se concluye que los docentes deben apropiarse de estrategias para el uso manejo y elaboración de material ya que son una herramienta importante en la labor docente conociendo que al inducir al niño a crear sus propios conocimientos mediante el manejo y manipulación de materiales concretos ayudarán a que se apropien de conocimientos, conceptos y consoliden sus aprendizajes.

Encryption of Personally Identifiable Information stored in a Structured Query Language Database has been difficult for a long time. This is owing to block-cipher encryption algorithms changing the length and type of the input data when encrypted, which cannot subsequently be stored in the database without altering its structure. As the enactment of the South African Protection of Personal Information Act, No 4 of 2013 (POPI), was set in motion with the appointment of the Information Regulators Office in December 2016, South African companies are intensely focused on implementing compliance strategies and processes. The legislation, promulgated in 2013, encompasses the processing and storage of personally identifiable information (PII), ensuring that corporations act responsibly when collecting, storing and using individuals’ personal data. The Act comprises eight broad conditions that will become legislation once the new Information Regulator’s office is fully equipped to carry out their duties. POPI requires that individuals’ data should be kept confidential from all but those who specifically have permission to access the data. This means that not all members of IT teams should have access to the data unless it has been de-identified. This study tests an implementation of the Fixed Feistel 1 algorithm from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) “Special Publication 800-38G: Recommendation for Block Cipher Modes of Operation : Methods for Format-Preserving Encryption” using the LibFFX Python library. The Python scripting language was used for the experiments. The research shows that it is indeed possible to encrypt data in a Structured Query Language Database without changing the database schema using the new Format-Preserving encryption technique from NIST800-38G. Quality Assurance software testers can then run their full set of tests on the encrypted database. There is no reduction of encryption strength when using the FF1 encryption technique, compared to the underlying AES-128 encryption algorithm. It further shows that the utility of the data is not lost once it is encrypted.

La presente investigación está enmarcada dentro de los procesos didácticos del área de comunicación, resume los resultados del presente Plan de Acción relacionado al uso de estrategias metodológicas para desarrollar los niveles de comprensión lectora en los estudiantes del nivel primario de la I.E. N° 10116 “Señor Nazareno Cautivo” – Lambayeque. El objetivo es mejorar la aplicación del enfoque del área de comunicación en comprensión lectora, así mismo, promover la participación de los docentes en capacitaciones y talleres sobre el uso de estrategias metodológicas de comprensión lectora y la elaboración de materiales educativos que promuevan la comprensión lectora, así como optimizar el proceso de monitoreo y acompañamiento pedagógico centrando la atención en la comprensión y promover el cumplimiento de las normas de convivencia establecidas en el aula, a fin de lograr transformar la situación problemática. La contribución técnica de este estudio comprende una amplia revisión bibliográfica sobre estrategias didácticas participativas, y el aporte práctico es que los docentes conozcan y apliquen los procesos didácticos de la comprensión lectora así como el uso de estrategias antes, durante y después de la lectura. Por lo que es importante intervenir ante esta realidad problemática para lograr mejorar los aprendizajes de los estudiantes de la I.E. N° 10116 “Señor Nazareno Cautivo” del distrito de Lambayeque. Las teorías en la que se sustenta esta investigación están relacionadas al: liderazgo pedagógico propuesto por Vivian Robinson, Murillo, la teoría psicogenética de Jean Piaget, Kennel S. Goodman y algunas aportaciones de Felipe Garrido. Además la teoría de Crichesqui, quien aporta la importancia de conformar las comunidades de profesionales en la I.E.; así también se ha tomado en cuenta los aportes de Antonio Bolívar relacionado al liderazgo transformacional. Finalmente se ha llegado a la conclusión de que la única manera de mejorar los aprendizajes de los estudiantes, se lograra solo si el director ejerce un liderazgo pedagógico centrado en los aprendizajes.
