Résumé :
It is clearly known that urban freight transportation has a significant role on sustainable development of urban areas. The persistent growth of the costs of freight transportation and as a result of congestion, environmental pollution and increasing inefficient usage of land in urban areas are forcing users and public authorities to develop alternative logistic solutions to relieve the freight traffic problem. Establishing logistics centers is one of these alternative solutions. Logistics centers are specific centers that various logistic based activities like distribution, storage, transportation, consolidation, handling, customs clearance, imports, exports, transit processes, infrastructural services, insurance, banking and similar commercial activities are performed. These centers are defined for national and international all logistic and related operations. Logistic centers must be settled near production and commercial centers, highways, railways, airports and if possible seaports. In this study we proposed a fuzzy TOPSIS approach to a logistics center location selection problem in eastern anatolia region of Turkey.

Résumé :
Regional logistic networks and linking urban clusters to boost high quality economic development are both key topics in sustainable development in China. In recent years, China has highlighted the significance of the logistics industry and urban cluster development, attaching practical importance to the connections between these two topics from a spatial perspective. This paper aims to discuss how regional logistic networks linking urban clusters improve economic development. This study constructs a logistic evaluation indicator system based on the multi-indicator data of 11 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2020. This research employs the entropy-weighted-TOPSIS method to measure and rank the comprehensive logistics quality of each city in the economically linked logistic network of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This study applies the modified gravity model to explore the logistics linkage and logistic network characteristics of each city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Finally, this research analyzes how the agglomeration ability of the central cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area affects other cities from a spatial perspective. Furthermore, this spatial perspective investigates the agglomeration effect of the economic linkage logistic network through the social network analysis method. The results have the following three implications. (1) The logistic network has a high density, a stable overall structure with a strong agglomeration effect, and there is an increasingly mature logistic network development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the Bay Area. (2) Agglomeration is significant in the central cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area including Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Macao. Nonetheless, insufficient peripheral cities have been cultivated. Therefore, the government should focus on strengthening the balance of urban development in the bay area and improving the logistics access among cities to break through the barriers of regional synergistic development. (3) The economic development of cities is highly correlated with the level of logistics links. Additionally, the economy is the cornerstone to promoting the high-quality development of the logistics industry. Moreover, the economy and logistics are inseparable, mutually promoted, and developed together.

Résumé :
The article considers the goals of creation and success factors of the UDC, their location problems, presents the algorithm for determining the logistic sustainability index (LSI), which affects the integrated development of logistics of the study area of the UDC. Facilities – urban distribution centers. The purpose of the work is to analyze general information on the goals of creation and success factors of the UDCs, problems in finding their location, as well as consideration of the process of evaluating the logistics sustainability index. Research methods – the method of analysis of hierarchies, the method of weighted sum. LSI is an integrated tool that can quantify the overall efficiency of a logistics system according to different criteria and different points of view. Thus, the LSI can jointly assess one or more areas of impact on the UDC allocation and becomes useful when a comparison between the current situation and a potential scenario is required, or when two potential scenarios need to be compared by impact area (eg energy consumption, pollutant emissions). Résumé :
This paper presents effective and efficient solutions for components of urban logistics. The specificity of such logistics and the multiple limitations led to particular solutions. However, they all share one common feature—the flow consolidation in different variants. This study considers the flow consolidation at the boundary of urban congested areas, through horizontal collaboration between logistic platforms. This way, the urban distribution centers (UDCs) receive all the goods according to the orders addressed to each producer (or group in case of “on-going consolidations”). Deliveries are addressed to a single logistic platform. Thus, the flow consolidation is achieved. Each logistic platform receives part of the consumer goods intended for commercialization, but through collaboration between them (freight exchanges), all the warehouses of the producers have all the ordered goods. Dedicated management of logistics platforms and warehouses within each UDC ensures the confidentiality of distributor data. Three scenarios are presented concerning the same pattern of flow addressed to each UDC. These scenarios differ by the accessibility of the logistics platforms and by the connection between them (due to infrastructure development). The methodology of choosing the variants for composing the flow sent from each logistics platform considered the minimization of transfer times to UDC warehouses. Synthetic indicators allow for comparison between the analyzed scenarios.

Résumé :
In the last decade, logistic systems based on small aerial vehicles (drones) have become attractive for urban delivery operations as a sustainable alternative to ground vehicles because they are not affected by the congestion of the road network, thus allowing for faster and more reliable services. Aerial logistic systems, however, require a substantially different approach to operations management and need specifically designed supportive infrastructures. While the research on urban aerial delivery mostly focuses on the optimization vehicle operations, the appropriate design of supportive infrastructures is seldom considered. This paper focuses on the energy efficiency of aerial logistic systems, and proposes a new original methodology to obtain a realistic estimate of the overall energy consumed by a swarm of drones employed for urban delivery, taking into account the extension of the area served and its specific features. The methodology proposed offers relevant information for the decision problems related to the appropriate sizing of the infrastructures, the dimensioning of the swarm of drones and the capacity of the energy storage system. The paper also reports a comparison with ground vehicles in the same scenarios, showing the relevant tradeoffs. The results obtained demonstrate how an appropriate design of the supportive infrastructures for urban aerial logistics may significantly impact the overall efficiency of the delivery system.

Résumé :
The rapid growth of cities significantly impacts the development of transport and logistics infrastructure (TLI), creating substantial challenges for the transport network and quality of life. To enhance the efficiency and sustainability of TLI, various approaches, planning methods, and management strategies are employed at the city or agglomeration level. The objective of this study was to investigate, using graph theory and correlation analysis, the relationship between the polarity and logistic flow of the city’s meso-districts. Based on these findings, recommendations for the development of the city’s transport and logistics infrastructure were proposed. The logistic flow, influenced by social, economic, institutional, and environmental factors, plays a critical role in the planning and operation of transport and logistics infrastructure within each meso-district of the city. The determination of the polarity of meso-districts was conducted based on expert assessments by specialists, while the indicators of logistic flow were derived from the average values of statistical data for the period 2021–2023. The results demonstrated that a reduction in the polarity of meso-districts—characterized by multilateral connections between meso-districts and key indicators of logistic flows—can positively influence the quality and accessibility of the city’s transport and logistic infrastructure. This approach enables the identification of the most problematic meso-districts within the city, the mapping of logistic flow directions, and the determination of strategic development pathways for the city’s transport and logistics infrastructure (TLI). Furthermore, it was established that the polarity of the meso-district graph reflects the state of traffic congestion within the districts and its environmental impact. This correlation provides valuable insights into refining the planning and development of the city’s TLI, ensuring a more sustainable and efficient urban transport system. This study contributed to the development of the city’s transport and logistics infrastructure by proposing a comprehensive model that enhances the understanding and strengthens the interconnections between meso-districts and urban logistics. The findings hold significant implications for urban planning, as they highlight the necessity of a detailed consideration of the role of meso-districts, as well as targeted investments in transport and logistics infrastructure to ensure its sustainable development in the future.

Résumé :
Urban form can be described with fractal dimension, which is a measurement of space filling of urban evolution. However, how to model and understand the fractal dimension growth of urban morphology are still pending questions. This paper is devoted to the research on the fractal dimension curves of urban growth. The principle of squashing function and empirical evidences are employed to demonstrate the following inference: the fractal dimension time series of a city’s spatial form take on a sigmoid curve. Among various sigmoid functions, the logistic function is the most probable selection. The observational data of fractal dimension of different cities from different sources support this logic judgment. A further discovery is that the fractal dimension curves of cities in the developed countries differ from those in the developing countries. A generalized logistic function is thus proposed to model the fractal dimension curves of different types of cities. The general logistic models can be used to predict the missing values and estimate the growth rates of fractal dimension of city development. Moreover, these models can be utilized to analyze when and where there is a fractal of urban form.

Résumé :
The irregularities of evolutionary development, continuous improvement of environmental component into transport and raise many unsolved problem in the fields of transport in logistics systems and material flows management. The city parameters analyses had highlighted connections with transport services technology. Also the distribution stage of the logistic chain, which consists of following market participants: incoming material flow, retailers and Transportation Company (carrier) in different cities has been considered. Transportation service is made by road transport. The paper compares results of transportation servicing in different cities and logistic chains with same technology. As performance indicator net present value has been used. Existing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of distribution of material flows does not sufficiently take into account the time value of money and possible options for investment, so when estimating the performance of servicing of business investment indicators should be used. Paper should elucidate the impact of cities on the transport service efficacy. Practical suggestions on logistics system functioning and transportation service of retailers in urban area have been proposed. Obtained results discovered overall impact of city’s parameters (density of streets and roads network’ irregularity factor; automobilizationlevel; urban square; scheme of road network; city radius) on logistics according to model which include more than 50 parameters and allows finding regularities of changing logistics efficiency on them.

The urban logistic sector is struggling with the following two problems: a particularly high level of traffic and air pollution. For those reasons, small electric vehicles are the perfect technical solution to cope sustainably with the increasing parcel volume in urban areas. To compensate the weight disadvantage of electric drive, a textile lightweight solution for the body of logistics vehicles is examined in this study. Therefore, various textiles and mounting solutions are examined and developed, as well as tested by multiple testing procedures. The result of this work is an ideal combination of a textile and suitable mounting method for a textile lightweight body for last—mile logistic vehicles.

Improving urban mobility is crucial to the sustainable development of a city. Well-managed movement of individuals, goods, and services is essential to increase citizens’ welfare, not only by reducing travel times and congestion levels, but also by minimizing air pollution, noise, accidents, etc. To achieve the desired results, the objectives and scope of the optimization efforts have become broader in recent years. Instead of focusing only on the flows and on the network itself, research and projects have connected various areas of economy to traffic management, such as public health and logistic optimization. Analysis of air samples taken from the dense traffic sections of urban transport of different compositions revealed that the value of NOX, CXHy and CO emitted into the environment by vehicles depend on the traffic flow density and composition. It has been revealed that in those areas of the urban traffic networks where the urban passenger transport prevails in the traffic flow composition, the indicator of traffic–related air pollution is much higher, so the management of the road transport processes by using the logistical arrangements of the traffic flows should be carried out taking into account the environmental safety criteria. The paper dwells on three different levels of management of environmental safety of vehicles as follows: the mega–level of the formation of regional transport; the micro–level of management of passenger routes, and the individual level (driver — vehicle) of traffic management.

Résumé :
This paper estimates global logistic regression and logistic geographically weighted regression (GWR) models of urban growth in the adjacent border cities of Laredo, Texas in the United States and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas in Mexico, for two time periods from 1985 to 2014. Historical land use and land cover patterns were monitored through Landsat imagery from the United States Geological Survey to identify instances of urban growth through land type change. Data on socioeconomic variables related to urban growth were collected from various sources and used as independent variables. In both time periods, the logistic GWR was proven to be a complementary model for the global logistic regression to explore the urban growth effect. In addition, GWR outperformed the global logistic regression model with respect to goodness of fit. These results suggest that local models are complementary to global models to empirically analyze the determinants of urban growth in study areas that contain political borders, presumably because the relationships between socioeconomic factors and urban growth are characterized by spatial heterogeneity in such areas. The spatial variable of the relationship between urban growth and the neighborhood interactions and proximity effect present the idea of complexity and interconnections between the land use change and associated factors.

Résumé :
In recent years, the rapid development of urban and rural logistics system has gradually become a new growth point of the economy under the strategy of new development pattern, which has a great impact on economic development. This paper combines existing research to establish the linkage mechanism between urban-rural logistics system and the new development pattern strategy, and models the mechanism of interaction between the two in the linkage mechanism. Logistic model is used to realize the analysis of economic development under the strategy of new development pattern, and the linkage between urban-rural logistics system and the strategy of new development pattern is explored through gray correlation analysis method and marginal analysis. It is found that the gray correlation between the two is above 0.7, indicating that there is a high linkage between the urban-rural logistics system and the new development pattern strategy. The elasticity coefficient of the urban-rural logistics system to the new development pattern strategy is between 0 and 1.1, which has a significant impact on the economic development under the new development pattern strategy. Meanwhile, the logistics equivalent in the urban-rural logistics system is positively proportional to the change in real GDP, confirming the linkage between the two.

Résumé :
A new phenomenon in tourism in the early 21st century is overtourism, which reflects the acute nature of the problem of managing growing tourist flows, especially in urban areas. The increasing number of urban tourists increases the consumption of natural and tourist resources of cities, exerts socio-cultural influence and exerts pressure on urban infrastructure. Therefore, for urban tourism, it is now an important task to effectively manage the flow of tourists in cities to ensure the sustainability of integrated urban development. Strategies, measures and proposals for sustainable urban tourism development include mandatory consideration of logistical and socio geographical (regional) features of urban tourist destinations.

Résumé :
The sharing economy is fundamentally transforming urban logistics, presenting both opportunities and challenges. This systematic literature review investigates the key research themes and methodologies employed in studying this dynamic field. We conducted a comprehensive search in corpus analysing numbers of peer-reviewed articles to address what is the main topics and challenges explored in urban logistics within the sharing economy and how this research methodologies related to this main topic. The paper discusses the main evidence emerging from a systematic literature review (SLR) on urban logistics. The corpus resulting from the SLR has been used to perform a citation network analysis and a main path analysis that together underpin the identification of the most investigated topics and methodologies in the field. Through the analysis of a corpus of 109 articles, our findings reveal that urban logistics in the sharing economy faces several prominent challenges, including traffic congestion, pollution, and last-mile delivery. Studies consistently emphasize the crucial role of technology in addressing these issues, highlighting innovations such as route optimization, real-time tracking, and alternative delivery methods. Furthermore, we identified the growing importance of policy interventions in promoting sustainable and efficient practices. Studies explored the implementation of measures like congestion pricing and urban logistics zones, reporting positive outcomes such as improved traffic flow, reduced emissions, and optimized use of urban logistics spaces. This systematic review contributes significantly to the field of urban logistics in the sharing economy in identifying key thematic areas and highlighting their specific relevance to the sharing economy context. By doing so, it will offer valuable insights and recommendations for future research, emphasizing the need for further exploration of the long-term impacts of technological innovations and policy interventions, as well as the integration of diverse methodological approaches for a comprehensive understanding of this complex and evolving field.

Résumé :
Fractal dimension curves of urban growth can be modeled with sigmoid functions, including logistic function and quadratic logistic function. Different types of logistic functions indicate different spatial dynamics. The fractal dimension curves of urban growth in Western countries follow the common logistic function, while the fractal dimension growth curves of cities in northern China follow the quadratic logistic function. Now, we want to investigate whether other Chinese cities, especially cities in South China, follow the same rules of urban evolution and attempt to analyze the reasons. This paper is devoted to exploring the fractals and fractal dimension properties of the city of Shenzhen in southern China. The urban region is divided into four subareas using ArcGIS technology, the box-counting method is adopted to extract spatial datasets, and the least squares regression method is employed to estimate fractal parameters. The results show that (1) the urban form of Shenzhen city has a clear fractal structure, but fractal dimension values of different subareas are different; (2) the fractal dimension growth curves of all the four study areas can only be modeled by the common logistic function, and the goodness of fit increases over time; (3) the peak of urban growth in Shenzhen had passed before 1986 and the fractal dimension growth is approaching its maximum capacity. It can be concluded that the urban form of Shenzhen bears characteristics of multifractals and the fractal structure has been becoming better, gradually, through self-organization, but its land resources are reaching the limits of growth. The fractal dimension curves of Shenzhen’s urban growth are similar to those of European and American cities but differ from those of cities in northern China. This suggests that there are subtle different dynamic mechanisms of city development between northern and southern China.

Résumé :
The territorial and logistic aspects of the integrated strategy of sustainable development of urban tourism, based on two concepts – tourism decentralization and reverse logistics are outlined. The first concept is based on the geologistical organization of the tourist space of the city, which includes such components as: geologistical (geographical and logistical) identification of the resource base of urban tourism; geologistical planning of tourist flows and determination of their needs; geologistical design of tourist infrastructure; geologistical design of supply chains of tourist infrastructure. At the same time, the geographical identification of the resource base of urban tourism means geospatial localization of tourist objects in the city. They should be considered as a kind of “tourist magnets”, which attract the flow of tourists to certain parts of the city. Accordingly, the territorial concentration of tourist objects causes a concentration of tourist flows, therefore these considerations should be taken into account when creating and placing new tourist objects in certain parts of the city so that there will be no territorial over-saturation of them. Consequently, instead of the territorial concentration of tourist objects in the central parts of the city, their territorial dispersion, that is, dispersion across the city territory, should be proposed. Logistical identification of the resource base of urban tourism means the definition of the logistic potentials of individual tourist objects, that is, the maximum possible tourist flows, which will not affect the sustainable development of tourism and the state of tourist resources. Geologistical planning of tourist flows and their needs means forecasting the size and structure of tourist flows and their needs, which can be divided into needs of the first and second levels. Geologistical planning of tourist infrastructure is to develop a network of tourism infrastructure objects in order to meet the previously determined needs of tourists of the first and second levels. The geologistical design of supply chains to ensure the functioning of tourism infrastructure objects includes the development of territorial transport and logistic schemes for their supply, taking into account the characteristics of the road network of cities and the locations of the objects themselves. The second concept involves an integrated approach to the recycling of the total amount of urban waste, including tourist one, taking into account their collection and removal from the city, as well as processing at special enterprises. The experience of Ukrainian cities of Lviv and Kyiv in this context is considered. At the same time Kyiv is more efficient in processing municipal waste, including tourist one, and Lviv faces the problem of the removal and recycling of urban waste, including tourist, over which the city now works.

Résumé :
This paper presents a structural microeconomic model of the choice of warehouse location in urban logistics. The model is theoretical and analytical. It brings the focus on operational constraints, their diversity, and their influence on costs. The location decision is modeled as a trade-off between land rents (making it costly to locate close to the center of the urban area) and transport costs (which increase non-linearly when the warehouse moves away from the city center). The influence of various parameters on the optimal warehouse location is analyzed. The following conclusions are drawn. First, increased demand contributes to the explanation of logistic sprawl: when the density of operations (pick-ups and deliveries) increases in a given area, transport is more efficient, making it less necessary for warehouses to be close to the city center. Second, urban logistics is a heterogenous sector and, depending on the operational constraints, will not react homogenously to changes in economic parameters or the implementation of public policies. Third, economies of scale are identified: some implications are discussed. Fourth, the paper briefly discusses how land-use planning regarding, in particular, warehouses, can help internalize some of the externalities of urban logistics.

Résumé :
With the advent of the post-industrial era, the rapid development of e-commerce has propelled the logistics industry to become the lifeline of the national economy, supporting the orderly flow of resource elements between cities. However, the concerning issues of excessive energy consumption and low logistics efficiency in the transportation process have come to the forefront. The introduction of China’s dual-carbon policy goals indicates that enhancing regional logistics’ green and low-carbon efficiency is key to solving the global logistic sustainability problem. Nowadays, the logistics sector’s efficiency in producing green and low-carbon emissions has been quantified using an input-output measurement index. Using data from 2008 to 2020 from the dynamic panel of the logistics sector in the urban agglomerations of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, the three-stage SBM-DEA and Malmquist index quantitative evaluation models are selected to estimate the logistic green and low-carbon development efficiency comprehensively. The analysis discovered that green and low-carbon logistics in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei metropolitan agglomeration are relatively efficient overall, and the urban siphon effect of Beijing and Tianjin is noticeable. Once the impact of environmental variables and random errors is eliminated, it becomes evident that these factors tend to inflate the overall technical efficiency. Technical efficiency levels are the primary factor leading to regional logistics inefficiencies. Additionally, it is essential to note that scale efficiency positively affects urban development, leading to a rebound effect, summarizing the existing problems combined with the visualization map, and putting forward corresponding policy suggestions, which is of great practical significance.

Résumé :
The traffic during rush hour in metropolises is always in heavy congestion, so the wagon trucks of logistic transportation are mostly forbidden during rush hour. In fact, quite a few logistic transportations are fulfilled by converted passenger vehicles. This paper aims to model the logistic companies’ behaviors and see through the effect of their cooperation modes on the companies and on the whole traffic conditions. The logistic companies decide their transportation pricing, warehouse using and route choosing separately or as a group (cooperation) to compete with others. It is also assumed that the heavy freight vehicles, light freight vehicles and the auto vehicles share the same network. Three models based on variational inequalities are proposed to describe the companies’ behaviors when there is no cooperation, simple cooperation and deep cooperation, respectively, and the modified diagonalization method is used to solve these models. The total transportation demand is elastic, which depends on the users’ choice of logistics company and further depends on all the companies’ prices, warehouse and route choices. The goodness of different coalitions to the companies and the whole traffic system is well investigated in the numerical examples.

Résumé :
The article is devoted to the justification of a comprehensive logistics strategy for the development of urban tourism based on studies of Ukrainian and international experience. Findings. It was determined that in the complex structure of tourism logistics, logistics of recreational and tourist resources occupy an important place. The logistics of the tourism resource base can be viewed at various regional levels, ranging from local to the highest, the meta-level. Each tourist site, city, tourist zone, area, region, country, tourist macro-region of the world and the world as a whole have a resource base. The capacity of the resource base determines the tourist market content of a certain territory. The concept of natural resource and recreational resource potential, landscape capacity and recreational resources are interconnected and integrated into a wider category – the logistic potential of recreational tourism resources (RTR) or tourism resource base (RBT), which in the tourism logistics system of a particular region operate along with the logistics potential of the material and technical base of tourism and the logistics potential of the incoming tourist traffic in the region.

Résumé :
In order to improve the transfers inside an Urban Rail Transit (URT) station between different rail transit lines, this research newly develops two Ordinal Logistic Regression (OLR) models to explore effective ways for saving the Perceived Transfer Time (PTT) of URT passengers, taking into account the difficulty of improving the transfer infrastructure. It is validated that the new OLR models are able to rationally explain probabilistically the correlations between PTT and its determinants. Moreover, the modelling analyses in this work have found that PTT will be effectively decreased if the severe transfer walking congestion is released to be acceptable. Furthermore, the congestion on the platform should be completely eliminated for the evident reduction of PTT. In addition, decreasing the actual transfer waiting time of the URT passengers to less than 5 minutes will obviously decrease PTT.

One of the most significant challenges in urban design today is the adaptation of industrial and logistical areas to climate change. These vast hubs are sites with a high degree of vulnerability concerning management of stormwater and heat waves. However, local planning struggles to develop appropriate tools for these essential structures. The lack of tools disregards climate influence on the future economy and the quality and safety of workplaces. Moreover, intervening in such large areas can increase green and blue systems. The research described in this article reflects on their possible evolution in a climate change mitigation and adaptation scenario from a global perspective, helping to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals (8; 9; 11; 13; 15). The study intends to propose the redefinition of the settlement scheme as an adaptation tool. This strategy takes the Industrial Zone of Padova as a test site, and it is developed to reduce risks related to extreme climate events by favouring the action of green infrastructures and, at the same time, exploiting the social and economic opportunities that may emerge from this urban transformation.
