Texte intégralThe present research envisages a theoretical section that recognizes previous studies carried out on Primary Teacher Education and on on-campus laboratories (LPD pedagogical-didactical laboratories). The second section is empiric and relates to a naturalistic case-study, based both on the phenomenological method and on the Grounded Theory. The experience of Milano-Bicocca involved teachers from four curriculum areas (psycho-pedagogical, scientific-mathematical, historical-geographical, motor-artistic and musical), 16 graduating or newly graduated students and 8 former-student teachers, that have all been involved in broad semi-structured interviews. The aim of the research is to verify the effectiveness, already proved through different studies, of on-campus laboratories, and fully understand their methodology, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. Experiental Learning is used in the LPD (pedagogical-didactical laboratories) in order to comprehend curricular subject matters and a teaching method, to improve reflexivity and didactic based on social-constructivism. Core criteria of this approach are learning from one’s own experience, learning by doing and by reflecting on new pedagogical methodologies. The expertise to be gained is: learning to understand ourselves and our childhood representation, teaching and learning, listening and observing. Students have pointed out two types of laboratories: ‘theoretical’ and ‘practical’; the former are considered ‘useless’ because theories are not linked to practice; the latter are useful and reflect the teachers’ approach. In order to run a high quality laboratory the role of the person in charge is key. A skilled laboratory leader is capable of managing experimental learning situations and of linking ‘practice’ to ‘theory’. During apprenticeship or at the beginning of one’s professional career, a specific issue emerges: the actual real school is completely different from the ideal one. The real school seldom teaches through laboratory where small cooperating groups learn by researching. These issues open up new paths of research on LPD education leaders and on training devices aimed at better connecting schools and Universities.

Texte intégralTypical of industrialized societies, the emerging adulthood’s lifecycle phase (from 19 to 28/30 years old) is defined by Arnett (2004) as a self-focused age, characterized by identity exploration, instability, possibilities and a sensation of feeling in between adolescence and adulthood. The psychodynamic Counseling Service of the University of Milano-Bicocca will be described. The profile of the Service’s users is characterized by some risk factors, such as the presence of symptomatology, insecurity in attachment, low life satisfaction and adverse childhood experiences. The effectiveness of the proposed psychodynamic counseling intervention will be highlighted, both in the short term, leading to a decrease in symptom levels, and in the long term, keeping the achieved improvements stable over time. The effectiveness of the intervention also emerges in the study with a control group in the waiting list, who does not show improvements with respect to the students who carry out the counseling intervention. Finally, in the exploratory comparison study between students of the University of Milano-Bicocca and students of the Rupert Karl University of Heidelberg, similarities emerge between the two groups, such as same reasons behind the request for help and similar symptom levels, while there are differences with respect to attachment styles and life satisfaction. The data highlights the important protective role of secure attachment with respect to psychopathology and life satisfaction, unlike insecure attachment that is configured as a potential risk factor, regardless of the students’ country of origin.
BERGAMO, SONIA. « La scena aperta del consumo di Milano Rogoredo : contesto e pratiche in dialogo ». Doctoral thesis, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/10281/306490.
Texte intégralPurpose: In most recent drug research, context is still treated as a product of broad structural processes, reducing the chances for a more finely-grained understanding of time and place of consumption. At the time of the field work, Milano Rogoredo was the biggest urban open drug scene in northern Italy. Starting form this case study, the goal of the present work is to document how the specific context is produced through the activity of drug use and how the so constructed context intervenes in the modulation of drug use itself. Methodology: In the research, the case study methodology is implied in order to collect and put into dialogue data of different nature. Analysis was conducted through an ethnographic approach which includes in-depth and semi-structured interviews (42), participant observation (70 days), news articles and use of maps and photos. Drawing on a post-structural theoretical framework, the methodology is based on the analytical elements proposed by Duff (2007): space, embodiment and practices. Findings: Drug use practices embedded in the Milano Rogoredo open drug scene impact on space representations creating a place of resistance in the narcotic city. The so-called drug related nuisance tends to result in a claim for social and spatial purification from citizens. The resistance zone that develops within the open drug scene allows the emergence of community bonds and fosters the spread of drug use practices that involve specific skills. The social object of the syringe reproduces social worlds, social divisions and generational differences. Violence permeates the every-day routines and practices which include drug related sex work and beggary. The lack of structured harm reduction interventions reduces the space to negotiate this violence. Research limitations/implications: The results are specific of the context in which the study was conducted. Contacts and data were mainly gained starting from harm reduction interventions, since these organisations provide the most accessible contact with drug users. Given the recruitment strategy adopted, individuals who are part of the study cannot be considered as representative of the drug using population as a whole. Value/practical implications: Despite a wide international literature, Italy shows a lack of sociological accounts of open drug scenes, particularly regarding the impact of context on local drug use practices. This research gives visibility to the effect of the local setting on drug use practices in a long-lasting ODS in Milan (Italy). In the effort to make interventions always more effective, results can orient harm reduction strategies and provide initial evidence on the impact of institutional measures to face ODS. Along with punctual aspects, outcomes can also orient future research on drug consumption practices and context relevance in drug use settings.
Cunha, Marion Machado.
Texte intégralThe route of my PhD consisted in: • an initial study of the relevant legislation about health and safety of workers and management systems of quality and safety; • a study regarding the application of regulations concerning safety at Italian Universities and analysis of the university context; • the testing of a Safety Management System (SMS) in two Sections of the University of Verona. Specifically, a survey has been on the evolution of legislation on health and safety at work from its origins to the D.Lgs. 106/09, which introduced a new vision of the subject, based on organizational behavior of security within the enterprise system. Aspects that are still lacking in the organization of safety provided by D.Lgs. 106/09, however, are: • verification and performance measurement of health and safety company, in connection with the evaluation of risks; • providing for periodic audits to verify compliance with decisions planned for safety management; • compliance with the policy and the achievement of safety targets set by management. The way to overcome these deficiencies, however, is delineated by the law itself which indicates the models of business organization, in accordance with the Guidelines for SGSL INAIL-UNI (2001), or to BS OHSAS 18001:2007, as models suitable to have effect on the administrative liability of legal persons, companies and associations. Given that, to succeed a SMS should be part of the system of organization, I proceeded to make comparisons between D.Lgs. 81/08, OHSAS 18001:2007, Guidelines for UNI-INAIL SGSL and standard ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management Systems. This comparison revealed that it would be a great saving of energy resources to implement an integrated management system of Safety and Quality. As regards the application of safety standards in Universities, I quoted a survey conducted by CRUI in 2005. This study showed that almost all Italian universities said had formalized the systemic approach in a regulation, but that there isn’t a good match between formal actions and effective implementation of operational and managerial actions, yet. Moreover, the main technical deficiencies were found in: fire prevention, electrical systems, heating systems and architectural barriers. In general, we have seen that university must combine prevention organization with a very complex and flexible organizational reality, given the autonomy and freedom of research and teaching and the high turnover of staff. In the University of Verona, has developed a "Rules for the management of health and safety at work at the University of Verona," in which procedures for identifying responsibilities, procedures, processes and resources for policy implementation for the prevention of the University, in compliance with health and safety regulations, are defined; there are, however, some difficulties to take over a full SMS, which should be whised by senior management and shared in the spirit and objectives by all university constituents. For this reason it was decided to adopt local SMS. In particular, in the Section of Biological Chemistry, we defined first the organization, identifying the roles of all the figures according to the D.Lgs. 81/08. Then, we built a list of all the activities carried out by each research group, and finally we collected: o the list of biological agents and genetically modified microorganisms used o the list of chemicals o the list of equipment and instruments o the list of exposed to risk carcinogens and mutagens o the Section planimetry, with the intended use of the rooms. With this information, the Direction of the Section is able to define: • Policy Section for the health and safety of workers; • objectives and improvement plans; • Management Procedures; • Procedures and Safety Operating Instructions; • aspects to be checked periodically, with planned audits; • the rules for carrying out through periodic "review management”, to ensure continued suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the Management System. Unfortunately, work in the Section of Biological Chemistry was hampered only by a formal adherence to the trial by the Head of Section. This has led to a non-involvement of most staff and the total absence of the key elements of management systems. Therefore, we tried to work through successive approximations, first by implementing the procedures necessary to meet the mandatory regulatory requirements, then we would implement procedures of common interest and then Procedures / Operating Instructions related to individual processes / activities, relying on a growing interest from all research groups. The following step will be to take into consideration all the laboratory methods and turn them into proper operating instructions, which also contain safety information. This collection of operative instruction would be an important starting point for a quality management system that could be eventually implemented in the future. University Laboratories for Medical Research (LURM) has faced the problem of identifying the academic and hospital components, as in the structure, which is headed by university staff, operate 23 research groups applying to 5 Departments of University Hospital Integrated - Verona. After having defined tasks and responsibilities of all the figures involved in LURM, we drew the organization chart of the structure. Then we gathered information in a way similar to the one which has been done for the Section of Biological Chemistry. To assist the Director of LURM in the task of promotion and supervision of compliance relating to the prevention measures to be taken, a database containing all the information above was implemented. This DB appears to be a powerful tool around which to build most of the procedures of SMS, especially in the case that the DB will be supplemented with the following information: • the risk profile of each employee; • the Personal Protective Equipment delivered to the individual worker; • training on safety held by each employee; • recording of accidents occurring; • recording of accidents or near misses occurred within research groups. Thank to this tool one can define the rules by which to run all information pertaining to safety, from the Supervisors to the Directors of Departments and of LURM and vice versa, and moreover to the Prevention and Protection Service, the Health Monitoring Service, the Radioprotection Service, the representatives of workers' safety. Once implemented an SMS based on the core of OHSAS 18001:2007, one can integrate procedures already developed for the SMS with the requirements of the QMS, and take a path of Quality System Certification. The two experiments carried out showed that the push by the proactive management is essential to design a policy for the safety of the section, set goals, engage staff in the spirit and in the belief of the importance of the Safety Management System implementation, in order to obtain better working conditions.
GALLUPPO, Francesca. « Il Sistema di Gestione integrato della Sicurezza e della Qualità nelle Università e negli Enti di Ricerca : l’esperienza della Sezione di Immunologia e della Sezione di Anatomia e Istologia Umana dell’Università degli Studi di Verona ». Doctoral thesis, Università degli Studi di Verona, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/11562/343863.
Texte intégralThe aim of the thesis is the implementation of a Safety and Quality Integrated Management System in two sections of the University of Verona: the section of Immunology and the section of Anatomy and Human Histology. The Immunology section carries out both research and diagnostic activities, as part of the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata-Verona (AOUI). Under this agreement, the Immunology section is identified as “Clinical Immunology Unit” and it is certified UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 since 2002; the part of the section that is exclusively committed to research is not covered by any type of certification. The Anatomy and Human Histology section carries out only research activities and is not covered by any type of certification for the Safety and Quality Management System. In the Clinical Immunology Unit we integrated information about safety into the documentation of the Quality Management System. This was the first step aiming to an integration of Quality and Safety Management System. This integrated system will be developed through the following steps: definition of policy and objectives for the health and safety of workers in the Unit; identification of specific indicators related to safety; drafting of specific procedures for safety, such as: o management of accidents o management of emergencies periodical integrated monitoring of the critical aspects and achievements of the objectives for both Quality and Safety; management review and replanning of the objectives aiming to a continual improvement of the system. As regards the University component of the Immunology Section the goal was to implement a common Quality and Safety Management System with the Management System of the Clinical Immunology Unit; however, from the analysis of the above mentioned organization, it emerged that it is not possible to identify common liabilities for Safety Management according to D.Lgs. 81/08 and thus it is impossible to build a shared organization chart and univocally define tasks and responsibilities. For this reason, the initial objective was to work out a Safety Management System in the Immunology Section, in order to meet the rules stated in the D.Lgs. 106/09, integrating it later with the specific contents of the Quality Management System and to finally reaching the initial objective of sharing as many as possible integrated documents on Quality and Safety between the two parts of the Section. As regards the Anatomy and Human Histology Section, we tried to raise awareness in the Director and staff of the Section in order to reach, as a first step, the implementation of a Safety Management System and then a Quality and Safety Integrated Management System. The actions carried out during this study were the following: Collection and update of the Section planimetry Elaboration of the organization chart for the staff of the section Elaboration of a database with the description of the elements in the staff, position covered, activities, exposure to toxic/carcinogenic substances, evaluation of the risk in which all processes are carried out. The work carried out in the Anatomy and Human Histology Section was concluded at this stage of data collection; this phase should be followed by the drawing of the procedures. A clear evidence, which emerged from what has been related above, is that the two contexts considered in this study show wide differences in the way the Management systems have been approached and in the way the staff has been involved. The different sensitivity to the issues considered originates from the course taken so far, which showed a scarce interest of the academic world in the certified management systems that, over the last few years, have gained ground in the working environment worldwide. At an operational level, in the Clinical Immunology Unit, further to implementing all the documentation for the Quality Management System which is already partially integrated with Safety guidelines, the staff showed awareness and felt involved in the implementation of the System. As a consequence, the process of integration with the Safety Management System was felt as a natural evolution of the work so far carried out. All the staff of the Section/Unit of Immunology proved more willing to adopt the new integrated procedures for Quality and Safety. Only a small portion of the staff in this Section is only academic, and is thus not yet primed with all the Quality guidelines put in place in the Unit, yet, in a context in which most of the workers are already trained and involved in the process of implementation of the Management System, the goal of extending this knowledge to 100% of the staff seems to be easily attainable. The shared hope is that this will eventually drag the university staff in a stepwise path that, starting from the implementation of a Management System for Safety which grants the fulfilment of all the regulatory requisitions, will allow the final integration with a Quality Management System. Awareness towards the Management Systems is an issue that was more heavily felt within the Anatomy and Human Histology Section, where a good portion of the efforts were spent in activities aimed at involving the staff and explaining the principles standing at the base of the Management Systems. The study could not therefore go beyond the definition of roles, tasks and the identification of all activities being carried out within the Section. The path towards the implementation of a Safety Management System implies not only the definition of a Policy, Objectives, Improvement Plan, Check and Management Review, but also the drafting up of organizational and technical procedures.

Created in 1987 by the European Union, the project Erasmus is an exchange program of students and teachers that aims to cultivate them educationally, linguistically and culturally. Based on the learning experience in other European countries, this program also promotes cooperation between European institutions, in order to enrich the teaching methods and learning environments. Therefore, it is critical to conduct an assessment of the information acquired by students in mobility that return with relevant data to this educational enrichment. This report aims to objectively compare the medical teaching at the University of Perugia to the University of Coimbra, trying to identify its divergent points. It will address issues such as the proportion of theoretical and practical lessons in the curriculum units, the existence of compulsory practical training outside the school’s term, the rating scale, the type of assessments most advocated, the number of opportunities to carry out exams, the final average of studies, the average duration for its completion and, finally, the presence of a tutoring system. Thus, comparing different realities that seek to achieve the same educational objective we may improve medical education in Portugal
