Machine learning and artificial intelligence will be deeply embedded in the intelligent systems humans use to automate tasking, optimize planning, and support decision-making. However, many of these methods can be challenged by dynamic computational contexts, resulting in uncertainty in prediction errors and overall system outputs. Therefore, it will be increasingly important for uncertainties in underlying learning-related computer models to be quantified and communicated. Abstract The uncertainty quantification of aeroelastic wind turbine simulations is an active research topic. This paper presents a dedicated, open-source framework for this purpose. The framework is built around the uncertainpy package, likewise available as open source. Uncertainty quantification is done with a non-intrusive, global and variance-based surrogate model, using PCE (i.e., polynomial chaos expansion). Two methods to handle the uncertain parameter distribution along the blades are presented. The framework is demonstrated on the basis of an aeroelastic stability analysis. A sensitiv

This paper focuses on quantifying the uncertainty in the specific absorption rate values of the brain induced by the uncertain positions of the electroencephalography electrodes placed on the patient’s scalp. We prove that the error in the solution produced by the multiscale method decays independently of the fine scale variation in the data or the computational domain. Studying the dynamics of the palaeoclimate is a challenging problem. Part of the challenge lies in the fact that our understanding must be based on only a single realisation of the climate system. This is the motivation behind this thesis, which explores approaches for uncertainty quantification in problems related to palaeoclimate reconstruction. Résumé :
Abstract: Stochastic computation is a fundamental approach in artificial intelligence (AI) that enables probabilistic reasoning, uncertainty quantification, and robust decision-making in complex environments. This research explores the theoretical foundations, computational techniques, and real-world applications of stochastic methods, focusing on Bayesian inference, Monte Carlo methods, stochastic optimization, and uncertainty-aware AI models. Key topics include probabilistic graphical models, Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), variational inference, stochastic gradient descent (SGD), and Bayes
