Résumé :
In this paper, we investigate the outage performance of a multiuser two-way relaying system over Nakagami-m fading channels. In particular, we consider the amplify-and-forward (AF) relay system with beamforming at the base station. Furthermore, the base station and mobile users have asymmetric traffic requirements. We fist derive a tight lower bound for the outage probability (OP). Moreover, the asymptotic outage probability expression is derived to shed light on the system's diversity order. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations are conducted to verify the analytical results.

Résumé :
WiMAX is one of the rising communications technology which enables last mile broadband mobile wireless Internet connectivity. IEEE Std 802.16-2009 is the last accepted standard which targets mobile and fixed wireless broadband access. The standard defines two types of stations which are base and mobile stations. A base station has a wired connection to backhaul network and gives broadband wireless service to mobile stations. IEEE 802.16j standard which is an amendment to IEEE 802.16, introduces Multihop Relaying for increasing coverage and throughput. Deployment of relay stations, where the backbone network does not exist, is a cost effective solution. Two modes of operations are defined for relay station: transparent mode and non-transparent mode. Relays in transparent mode, are deployed for improving signal quality, so that mobile stations can use relay link for increasing throughput. In non-transparent mode, relays can send management packets, so that mobile stations, which are not in the direct reach of a base station, can connect to network through relay stations. In domain specific networks main data traffic is caused by the communication between subscribers in same region. In this thesis shortcut routing scheme is proposed as sending packets to destination directly through relay station for data traffic between two subscribers with a common relay. With shortcut routing, network throughput is increased by preventing links at higher layer in topology from becoming bottleneck. Moreover, by traversing fewer hops, latency decreases. We also propose traffic aware path selection method, where a path will more.

Résumé :
The aim of my diploma thesis is to solve vehicle traffic safety and technical conditions on road I/43, research specific dangerous parts, subsequent evaluationandprocessing of individualpoint defects. It´s a 10km long section between Milonice and Krhov, approximately25km north from Brno. In total I found 4 defect points, which should be solved before realization of new motorway project R/43, which will replace existing I/43. The first defect point is in close proximity of Milonice village, there is an inconvenient intersection of I/43 with III/31775. There is a huge traffic intensity on road I/43 and an absence of turning lane on the left side. Second defect point is in village Závist, where is unsuitable connection from MK to I/43 and behind village is big longitudinalinclination, which is not suitable for slow vehicles. Third defect point is concerning the area between Závist and Černá Hora villages. There are unsuitable directional, high-altitude solutions, longitudinal inclinations and a crosswise arranged road. The last defect point is the horizon on road I/43 near village Krhov, this part of the road is the most dangerous section. On the horizon is an unsuitably planned project with a combination of directional, high-altitude solutions and transverse arrangement of roads with non-standard finishes ascending road lanes. I tried to solved defect points in the best possible way and to depict suggested action.

Multiform glioblastoma (GBM) are the most frequent and aggressive tumor of the central nervous system (CNS). The standard treatment therapy for GBM follows the “Stupp protocol”consisting in the most complete surgical resection combined with radio/chemotherapy with temozolomide (TMZ). Despite this heavy first line treatment, patients with GBM display a survival median of only 14.6 months. Even if the resection as large as possible, the diffuse properties of GBM cells leads to a quasi-systematic invasion of the margin of the resection cavity. The healthy brain parenchyma invasion by GBM cells, in margin or at distance of the resection cavity, constitutes a main therapeutic issue. These invasion mechanisms are carried by cell transformations caused by the microenvironment such as hypoxia and angiogenesis responsible for mesenchymal transition (MT) mainly controlled by two transcription factors STATγ and CEBPα which stimulate 70% of secondary mesenchymal genes. Hypoxia associated with MT triggers the expression of chemokine G protein-coupled receptor (GPCRs). The most studied chemotactic GPCR in GBM is CXCR4 which mediates promigratory effects through Gαi/PIγK/PIPγ and Gα13/Rho/ROCK as well as its endocytosis and recycling mediated by β-arrestins. Our team already demonstrated that the UT receptor of the neuropeptide urotensin II (UII) behaves like a chemokine receptor and stimulates GBM directional migrationby Gαi/PIγK/PIPγ and Gα13/Rho/ROCK allowing cell polarization, lamellipodia formation, actin stress fiber polymerization and cell contraction. Thus it appears that the expression and coupling redundancy of chemotactic GPCRs constitute a major brake for the development oftargeted therapy against these systems. Based on these observations, we proposed to identify new protein partners common to these chemokine GPCRs which could then be targeted by future anti-invasive therapies. First, we validated the systematic redundancy of expression of CXCR4/SDF-1α and UT/UII systems by immunohistochemical studies carried in various patient glioma grades (Collaboration with Pr A. Laquerrière, CHU Rouen Hospital). These systems are more strongly co-expressed in pseudopalisadic peri-necrotic hypoxic GBM areas. A two-hybrid screening of a bank of human brain cDNA allowed us to demonstrate that the 332-352 C-terminal amino acid sequence of UT interacts with the repeat D19-D20 domains of a platform protein called Filamin A (FlnA)

Résumé :
Research Doctorate - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
A robust communication infrastructure is the touchstone of a Smart Grid that differentiates it from the conventional electrical grid by transforming it into an intelligent and adaptive energy delivery network. To cope with the rising penetration of renewable energy sources and expected widespread adoption of electric vehicles, the future Smart Grid needs to implement efficient monitoring and control technologies to improve its operational efficiency. However, legacy communication infrastructures in the existing grid are quite insufficient, if not incapable of meeting the diverse communication requirements of the Smart Grid. Being one of the two available 4G technologies in the world, the IEEE 802.16- based WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) networks can significantly extend the reach of a Smart Grid by allowing fast and reliable communications over a wide coverage area. However, the unique characteristics of machine-to-machine (M2M) communications in the Smart Grid pose a number of interesting challenges to the conventional telecommunications networks, including WiMAX. Hence, considerable uncertainties exist about the applicability of WiMAX in a Smart Grid environment. The aim of this thesis is to offer an in-depth study of M2M communications over a WiMAX network in the Smart Grid. To fulfill this aim, it first conducts a detailed, technology agnostic review on the application characteristics and traffic requirements of several major Smart Grid applications and highlights their key communication challenges. Based on this review, it develops a range of traffic models for some key Smart Grid traffic sources, namely, smart meters, synchrophasors, and protective relays. Through a series of simulation studies, it then highlights a number of quality of service (QoS) and capacity issues that these applications may face within a conventional WiMAX network. A key observation from these studies is that the random access plane is the key bottleneck for supporting many of these M2M applications over a conventional WiMAX network. To further analyse the performance of the random access plane, this thesis develops a comprehensive analytical model that incorporates all the key features of the code division multiple access (CDMA) based random access mechanism, such as multi-user multi-code transmission, parallel code detection, and back-off and retransmissions. Through this model, it formulates a number of solutions, such as an enhanced random access scheme to detect a large number of random access codes, a differentiated random access strategy to provide QoS-aware access service to various M2M devices, and an adaptive radio resource management scheme to ensure an efficient utilisation of the random access resources. Moreover, it proposes and investigates a heterogeneous network (HetNet) architecture to reap maximum benefits from aWiMAX network by improving its coverage and allowing flexible data aggregation. Finally, it presents a number of application-specific optimisations to reduce radio resource utilisation and/or improve the performance of a WiMAX-based Smart Grid communications network. Many of the WiMAX specific analyses, results, and solutions in this thesis can be applied to other M2M applications beyond the Smart Grid. In addition, most of the traffic models developed and application-specific optimisations performed are technology agnostic; therefore, they are equally applicable to other wireless technologies, such as the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) based LTE (Long Term Evolution).

Résumé :
This chapter presents cooperative relaying networks that are helpful in Internet of Thing (IoT) applications for fifth-generation (5G) radio networks. It provides reliable connectivity as the wireless device is out of range from cellular network, high throughput gains and enhance the lifetime of wireless networks. These features can be achieved by designing the advanced protocols. The design of advanced protocols plays an important role to combat the effect of channel fading, data packet scheduling at the buffered relay, average delay, and traffic intensity. To achieve our goals, we consider two-way cooperative buffered relay networks and then investigate advanced protocols such as without channel state information (CSI) i.e., buffer state information (BSI) only and with partial transmit CSI i.e., BSI/CSI with the assistance of one dimensional Markov chain and transmission policies in fading environment. The outage probability of consecutive links and outage probability of multi-access and broadcast channels are provided in closed-form. Further, the buffered relay achieves maximum throughput gains in closed-form for all these protocols. The objective function of throughput of the buffered relay is evaluated in fractional programming that is transformed into linear program using standard CVX tool. Numerical results show that our proposed protocols performance better as compared to conventional method studied in the literature. Finally, this chapter provides possible future research directions.

Résumé :
With a lot of advancement in technology, there is an improvement in transportation so as to make the humans comfortable with driving. The idea behind this is the development of Autonomous cars also called as Self driving cars in which driving is similar to humans. The challenges faced in the Autonomous cars are to provide cooperative driving among themselves and collision avoidance between neighbor cars. The Autonomous cars communicate and gather the road information from the Road Side Units (RSU) that is placed along the road. Hence in this paper an efficient data dissemination model is proposed such that instead of making each and every car to communicate with the RSU’s which increases the travel time the autonomous cars moving on the road are formed as clusters based on certain distance limit and the car which is nearer to the RSU is identified as Cluster head. The Cluster head gathers the information from RSU and relays the information to all the other cars in its cluster. As the road information is broadcasted to all the other cars by the cluster head data dissemination becomes faster and travel time of the vehicles can also be reduced to a greater extent. The Cluster head apart from relaying the information of RSU’s can also transmit the information of object detection and traffic signal information to other cars in the cluster.
