The Stripe-headed Round-eared bat, Tonatia saurophila, includes three subspecies: Tonatia saurophila saurophila (known only from subfossil records in Jamaica), Tonatia saurophila bakeri (distributed from southeastern Mexico to northern Colombia, Venezuela west and north of the Cordillera de Mérida, and northwestern Ecuador), and Tonatia saurophila maresi (distributed in Venezuela east and south of the Cordillera de Mérida, the Guianas, Trinidad and Tobago, northeastern Brazil, and along the upper Amazon basin in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia). The last two subspecies are an attractive example to test predictions about the historical role of the Andes in mammalian diversification. Based on morphological descriptions, morphometric analyses, and phylogenetic reconstruction using the mitochondrial gene Cyt-b and the nuclear exon RAG2, this study evaluates the intraspecific relationships within Tonatia saurophila and the taxonomic status of the taxon. The three subspecies of T. saurophila are recognizable as full species: Tonatia bakeri, Tonatia maresi, and Tonatia saurophila. The latter is restricted to its type locality and possibly is extinct. Tonatia bakeri, in addition to being larger than T. maresi, is morphologically distinguishable by possessing an acute apex at the posterior edge of the skull, a well-developed clinoid process, and relatively robust mandibular condyles, and by lacking a diastema between the canine and the first lower premolar. The genetic distance between T. bakeri and T. maresi is 7.65%.

The study to calculate the water quality index was conducted in the Gulf of Tonkin at the surface water in August 2018. The calculation results showed that out of 48 surveyed points, there was 1 point in the Northeast area at poor water quality, 15 points in the Northeast and coastal areas from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue at medium water quality, 14 points in the Gulf of Tonkin, Northeast and Con Co Island at good water quality, the remaining 18 points in the Gulf of Tonkin and Bach Long Vi Island at excellent water quality. Overall, the average water quality of the whole region was good (average WQI = 79). Considering each area, the Gulf of Tonkin area had good and excellent water quality, the Northeast had water quality from poor to good level, the coastal areas from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue had medium water quality, Con Co Island area had good water quality, Bach Long Vi Island area had excellent water quality.

In 1890, Qing authorities in Yunnan Province found themselves faced with a rebellion led by Ngụy Danh Cao, the leader of a group of refugees from northern Tonkin. Proclaiming himself a former commander in the Black Flag Army, and thus an ally of the Qing government, Ngụy Danh Cao led several thousand refugees into Muäng La, a Tai area bordering the newly delineated Tonkin Protectorate. Within six months, he attempted to seize control of Muäng La. His failed rebellion and eventual capture revealed not only the plasticity of the Tonkin-China borderline, but also the Protectorate's reliance on personal networks in its projection of authority.

Neste estudo, investigamos os eventos tonais do contorno pré-nuclear de declarativas e interrogativas neutras do português angolano do Libolo em dados de fala semiespontânea. A partir de uma análise autossegmental-métrica da entoação (LADD, 2008), conjuntamente a pressupostos da Fonologia Prosódica (NESPOR; VOGEL, 1986), observamos uma frequente associação de acentos tonais às palavras fonológicas pré-nucleares das sentenças. Além disso, a fronteira entre os dois sintagmas prosódicos finais em declarativas e interrogativas parciais pode ser marcada por um aparente acento frasal baixo. Concluímos, assim, que os aspectos tonais pré-nucleares do português libolense são, no geral, similares aos já descritos para outras variedades de português europeu, brasileiro, guineense e santomense, embora haja maior similaridade com as três últimas.

Introduction. The article researches Tonkin – Cochinchina Civil War (in Vietnamese history, also known as Dang Trong – Dang Ngoai War or Trinh – Nguyen War) that took place from the early 17th century to the late 18th century in Vietnam. Methods and Materials. When researching this matter, the author used Western materials, including writings, reports, correspondences, diaries, etc., of Western missionaries, merchants, and travellers used to operate in Vietnam in the 17th and 18th centuries. The author combines two main research methods of historical science (historical method and logical method) with other research methods (system, analysis, synthesis, comparison, etc.) to clarify the article’s contents. Analysis. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the struggle for political power between two powers: Trinh Lord in Tonkin and Nguyen Lord in Cochinchina, caused Vietnam to undergo a fierce civil war that lasted for more than a century. This civil war was scattered mentioned in Western missionaries, merchants, and travellers’ materials (including writings, reports, correspondences and diaries), operating in Vietnam during this period. The cause of the civil war outbreak, force correlation between two sides, happening of some battles and using foreign resources of Trinh Lord and Nguyen Lord to defeat the enemy, those were the contents recorded by Westerners. Despite not much adequate, researchers also have a basic visualization of Tonkin – Cochinchina Civil War’s panorama taking place in Vietnam in the 17th and 18th centuries. Results. Based on researching several contents related to Tonkin – Cochinchina Civil War, mentioned in writings, reports, correspondences, and diaries of Westerners present in Vietnam in the 17th and 18th centuries, the author analyzed to draw out the advantages and limitations of these materials. On that basis, the author initially clarifies its value for the research and assessment of Tonkin – Cochinchina Civil War of Vietnamese scholars at present and in the future.

Propomos uma revisão e adaptação da teoria de harmonia tonal de SCHOENBERG (1999, 2004) como ferramenta de análise, realização e composição, a partir da lead sheet. Tontine insurance is tied to life insurance. This type of insurance is also a type of mutual insurance. However, we must look at tontines separately, having in mind its origin and goal. Tontine insurance originated in the 17th century and was developed in England and the United States, until the beginning of the 20th century, when it became banned. Tontine insurance at an early stage contained elements of group annuity insurance, group life insurance and lottery. Today, tontine insurance is a type of fund within which policyholders, i.e., members, agree to jointly capitalize, i.e., finance their contributions to the fund and to divide the capitalized assets between those policyholders who reach a certain age and the heirs of the deceased insured. The Act on Insurance of the Republic of Serbia also regulates tontine insurance. The author pays attention to the provisions of EU law in this area.

INTRODUÇÃO: Testes de reconhecimento de sentenças no silêncio ainda são pouco utilizados na rotina clínica audiológica e até mesmo em pesquisas. Por isso, muitas vezes, ao realizar esta avaliação, o clínico não possui parâmetros para interpretar ou classificar os resultados. OBJETIVO: Assim, este estudo teve por objetivo investigar a correlação entre o limiar de reconhecimento de sentenças no silêncio (LRSS) e a média dos limiares tonais nas freqüências de 0,5, 1 e 2 kHz. MÉTODOS: Foram examinadas 200 orelhas de indivíduos normo-ouvintes, 50 homens e 50 mulheres (média 34,61 anos). Inicialmente, realizou-se anamnese, meatoscopia, audiometria tonal liminar e pesquisa do limiar de reconhecimento de fala e do índice percentual de reconhecimento de fala. Posteriormente, utilizando o teste Listas de Sentenças em Português, realizou-se a pesquisa dos LRSS. RESULTADOS: O LRSS médio obtido nas 200 orelhas examinadas foi 6,15 dBNA e a média dos limiares tonais para as freqüências de 0,5, 1 e 2 kHz foi de 8,55 dBNA. A análise estatística evidenciou correlação significante entre as variáveis em estudo. CONCLUSÕES: A média dos limiares tonais nas freqüências de 0,5, 1 e 2 kHz pode ser usada como referência para a análise dos resultados obtidos na pesquisa do LRSS. Além disso, pode-se esperar que os valores dos LRSS sejam melhores que os valores obtidos a partir das médias dos limiares tonais, pois as sentenças fornecem pistas acústicas e lingüísticas com significado.

Este estudo tem como tema o teste de padrão de frequência e de duração no Brasil e como objetivo revisar e explanar sobre a avaliação do processamento auditivo temporal no Brasil, mais especificamente sobre os testes tonais de ordenação temporal (teste de padrão de frequência e duração). Para atingir tal objetivo foi realizado um trabalho de revisão sistemática da literatura em periódicos nacionais, acessados eletronicamente na base de dado Scielo e Lilacs, sem restrição ao ano de publicação. A pesquisa foi estruturada por meio dos descritores: processamento temporal, processamento auditivo temporal, testes temporais, testes tonais de padrão de frequência e testes tonais de padrão de duração, percepção auditiva e testes auditivos. A pesquisa retornou 33 publicações nacionais sendo 28 artigos de periódicos, uma dissertação de mestrado e quatro teses de doutorado. Com isso, pode-se perceber que a utilização de testes que avaliem a habilidade de ordenação temporal no Brasil é recente, sendo notável o aumento significante das publicações nos últimos cinco anos. Desta forma, o emergente conhecimento possibilitado pelo acesso aos testes no Brasil permite ampliar um campo de pesquisa a todos os profissionais comprometidos com este tema.

Os morcegos da família Phyllostomidae diversificaram-se 11 subfamílias distintas e com elevada variação cariotípica. A espécie Tonatia saurophilla pertence à subfamília Phyllostominae, que possui variação cariotípica entre espécies de 2n=16, NF=20 à 2n=34, FN=62. As técnicas citogenéticas, como mapeamento de sequências de DNA de múltiplas cópias, e bandeamentos cromossômicos, são ferramentas valiosas e ajudam na compreensão de mecanismos evolutivos, estrutura genômica e diferenciação de cariótipos. Neste sentido, foi analisado o cariótipo de Tonatia saurophila, por meio de coloração convencional, bandeamento G, coloração AgNor, e a distribuição cromossômica de 4 microsatélites: GAA, GAG,TA e CAC, por meio da Hibridação In Situ Fluorescente (FISH). A espécie foi coletada na cidade de Abaetetuba, (PA, Brasil), e as preparações citológicas foram obtidas por meio da cultura de fibroblastos. Nossos resultados demonstraram que, Tonatia saurophila apresenta um número diploide 2n = 16, e NF = 20, no complemento autossômico, o par 1 é um metacêntrico grande; os pares 2, 3, 4 e 7 são acrocêntricos; os pares 5 e 6 submetacêntricos; e o cromossomo X é um metacêntrico médio. A NOR foi identificada na porção distal do braço curto de apenas um par de cromossomo. As análises de sequências repetitivas de microssatélites, apresentaram marcações dispersas no genoma e sua maioria coincidente com as regiões G-negativas. Porém, alguns sinais apresentaram-se mais evidentes do que outros. As sequências GAA, TA e CAC mostraram-se mais discretas do que as sequências GAG. A sequência GAA evidenciou uma marcação pericentromérica no cromossomo X. Sequências de DNA repetitivo ocupam uma grande proporção do genoma de Tonatia saurophilla, e provavelmente essa classe de DNA teria tido um papel importante na reorganização genômica desta espécie, que apresenta um dos cariótipos mais rearranjados dentro de Phyllostomidae, considerando que sequências repetitivas são consideradas hotspots para ocorrência de rearranjos, impulsionando assim a diversidade cromossômica.

O estudo prosódico das variedades de português tem mostrado comportamentos distintos referentes à associação de eventos tonais ao contorno entoacional, aproximando variedades ao mesmo tempo em que distancia outras. Neste artigo, descrevemos e analisamos o contorno entoacional associado às sentenças declarativas neutras do português santomense (PST) à luz da Fonologia Entoacional integrada à Fonologia Prosódica. Comparamos os resultados obtidos da análise desta variedade africana de português com os descritos para variedades de português europeu, brasileiro e guineense, estudadas pela mesma perspectiva teórica. Embora em São Tomé e Príncipe a variedade lusitana (especialmente a falada em Lisboa) seja considerada como padrão, ao analisarmos o comportamento entoacional das sentenças declarativas neutras de PST, deparamo-nos com: alta densidade tonal, caracterizada pela associação de acentos tonais a todas as palavras prosódicas de um contorno entoacional; a palavra prosódica como domínio relevante para associação de acentos tonais; contorno nuclear baixo (L* L%); e possibilidade de associação de acento frasal à fronteira direita de sintagmas fonológicos não finais de um sintagma entoacional. Tais características entoacionais são distintas daquelas atestadas para a variedade lisboeta, o que permite-nos assumir o PST como uma variedade detentora de uma gramática entoacional própria, e não uma variedade defectiva do português europeu.

AbstractPalynological records in cores C4 and B106 from the Gulf of Tonkin reveal signals of paleo-monsoon and paleoenvironmental change during the late Pleistocene and Holocene. Before ∼ 13.4 cal kyr BP, the Gulf of Tonkin was exposed to the atmosphere and covered by grassland. Starting at ∼ 11.7 cal kyr BP, the Gulf of Tonkin was inundated by brackish water, indicated by the appearance of the brackish algae Cleistosphaeridium, Sentusidinium and Spiniferites, a decrease of herb content, and an increase of Pinus. After Hainan Island was completely separated from the Leizhou Peninsula by Qiongzhou Strait at ∼ 8.5 cal kyr BP, a continuous marine sedimentary environment was found. The current patterns were similar to those of the present, with a general trend of current homogenization reflected by gradually decreasing quantities of Quercus pollen and a narrowing gap between the palynological concentrations of the southern and northern parts of the region. The data suggest that three short periods of strengthened winter monsoons and currents were centered at ∼ 6.0 cal kyr BP, ∼ 2.7 cal kyr BP and ∼ 0.2 cal kyr BP and that two short periods of strengthened summer monsoons and currents were centered at ∼ 7.5 cal kyr BP and ∼ 3.4 cal kyr BP.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, a locally produced program on community television took the GLBTIQ community by storm. Running for seven years on channel Briz31, Tamara Tonite appeared in, and produced, 365 episodes, interviewing many locally based and national personalities. The success of the show has not been matched by any other privately produced show on community television in Australia. Tamara initially took on the show to promote her own ‘dial a drag queen’ business, but TamaraTonite took on a form of its own towards the end of 1997. While the show drew a few detractors — with some charismatic church leaders calling her an ‘evil cross-dressing transvestite’ using airwaves to spread her wicked message — Tamara remembers being absolutely floored when she threw the show open to a studio audience one night. Over 60 people turned up, and some had to huddle around TV cameras due to a lack of space.

Esse trabalho apresenta o C-ORAL-ESQ, corpus oral de pacientes brasileiros com esquizofrenia. O corpus documentará 40 sessões de atendimento psicoterapêutico a pacientes de ambos os sexos, com faixa etária e nível de escolaridade variados. O C-ORAL-ESQ será segmentado em enunciados e unidades tonais a partir de um critério prosódico e pragmático, o qual concebe os enunciados como atos de fala (AUSTIN, 1962), ou seja, sequências com autonomia prosódica e pragmática (CRESTI, 2000). Além disso, o artigo reporta estudos de Cresti, Dovetto e Rocha sobre a estrutura informacional da fala de pacientes italianos com esquizofrenia (CRESTI; DOVETTO; ROCHA, 2015). Os autores notam em alguns pacientes uma tendência para produzir enunciados com menor variação de tipos ilocucionários e de unidades tonais não ilocucionárias.

O objetivo do estudo foi estimar a prevalência de sintomas auditivos e vestibulares em trabalhadores expostos a ruído ocupacional. Foram analisados os prontuários de 175 trabalhadores com perda auditiva induzida por ruído, atendidos em um centro de referência de saúde ocupacional de Campinas, SP, de 1997 a 2003. As variáveis estudadas foram freqüência dos sintomas de hipoacusia, zumbido e vertigem. As associações com idade, tempo de exposição ao ruído e limiares auditivos tonais foram analisadas utilizando-se os testes estatísticos qui-quadrado e exato de Fisher. Foram relatados hipoacusia em 74% dos casos, zumbidos em 81% e vertigem em 13,2 %. Verificou-se associação entre hipoacusia e idade, tempo de exposição ao ruído e limiares auditivos tonais e entre vertigem e tempo de exposição ao ruído, não sendo encontradas outras associações significativas.

Héritiers des détachements aériens d’observation d’artillerie de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, trois groupes aériens d’observation d’artillerie (GAOA) sont employés durant la guerre d’Indochine. Il s’agit des 1 er puis 21 e GAOA, 2 e puis 22 e GAOA, 3 e puis 23 e GAOA, stationnés respectivement en Cochinchine, en Annam et au Tonkin ; seuls des détachements appartenant à ces unités servent au Laos et au Cambodge. Les missions confiées à ces groupes sont multiples, l’accompagnement des troupes et la reconnaissance à vue en sont les principales, où durant lesquelles, de nombreux réglages d’artilleries sont effectués renforçant la spécificité des GAOA : l’observation aérienne d’artillerie. Véritable observatoire aérien, « œil du commandement » , l’avion d’observation va être engagé dans toutes les opérations du conflit indochinois, et principalement dans la zone opérationnelle du Tonkin.

Dari inklusi fluida daerah penelitian di Desa Brambang Pulau Lombok Nusa Tenggara Barat ditafsirkan tipe endapan emas di Daerah tersebut. Tipe endapan emas ini sangat penting untuk diketahui karena sangat berkaitan dengan potensi endapan emas di Daerah ini. Satuan litologi daerah Brambang dapat dibagi menjadi beberapa satuan batuan dengan mempertimbangkan dominasi litologinya yaitu: satuan tuf lapilli, satuan diorite, satuan tonalit dan satuan breksi diatreme. Ada tiga tipe urat yang diamati dimana terdapat inklusi fluida yaitu tipe urat A, B dan C yang diambil dari zona urat pada batuan tonalit. Hasil pengukuran salinity menunjukan dua grup temperatur yang dapat disesuaikan dengan tipe urat A-B untuk temperatur ~550 oC dan tipe urat C untuk temperatur ~250 oC, besaran temperature tersebut mengindikasikan tipe mineralisasi porfiri yang berasosiasi dengan logam dasar.

Sino-French war of 1884–1885 on land and at sea was significant as the beginning of a new stage of active French colonial policy in the Far East. It was a continuation of the Second French-Vietnamese war of 1883–1886, more known as “Tonkin Campaign”. France wanted to occupy Tonkin (northern Vietnam) and entrench a protectorate there. Tonkin belonged to Chinese sphere of interest because of Hong (Red) river which connected China’s southern provinces with the sea as an important trade route. Armed Conflict between France and China became inevitable. Military operations of the Far East squadron under the command of Admiral Amédée Courbet (1827–1885) become an important part of the campaign: Defeat of Chinese fleet in the Battle of Fuzhou, capture of Keelung, blockade of Taiwan’s ports, occupation of the Pescadores. This article for the first time introduces in the Russian language the “letters of sea cadet Jean” — letters from a sea cadet of Courbet’s squadron who depicted different episodes of the campaign, including landing and stay at Taiwan, relations with local authorities and population, Chinese and aborigines. For the first time the letters were published in 1890/91 in French and re-published with some notes in 2005; there is no translation into any foreign language so far. Written by a young seaman under a culture shock from a completely new and surprising world these letters are valuable for the sincerity of the story, freshness of the impressions and certain literary merits.

The purpose of this paper is to present 3-D numerical simulation of the tidal circulation in the Gulf of Tonkin. A sigma-coordinate system transformation is used to make possible a total fitting between the computing point-grid and the bottom topography as well as the free water surface. A turbulence-closure sub-model K-L which permits the parameterization of the turbulence mixing is also included. The studied domain, the whole Gulf of Tonkin, extends from the coastal zone of Quang-Ninh into Thua Thien Hue province and as far as Hai-Nam (China) island seawards. The model have been calibrated and verified by the observed data at six different stations for a three and seven-day periods. The results are in good agreement with the observed data. The kinetic energy distribution was considered.

TEMA: o teste Gaps-in-Noise (GIN) avalia a habilidade auditiva de resolução temporal. Estudos têm mostrado o teste GIN como um instrumento de fácil aplicação, com boa sensibilidade e especificidade. OBJETIVO: comparar os resultados do teste GIN em ouvintes normais com e sem zumbido e fazer a correlação entre os resultados deste, os limiares tonais e idade. MÉTODO: foram avaliados 44 adultos (limiares tonais 25 dBNA nas freqüências de 0,25 a 8 kHz), formando 2 grupos: Grupo Controle composto por 23 sujeitos, 8 homens e 15 mulheres, sem queixa de zumbido, idade entre 22 e 40 anos (média 29,7); Grupo Pesquisa formado por 18 indivíduos, 3 homens e 15 mulheres, com queixa de zumbido, idade entre 21 e 45 anos (média 31,3). Os sujeitos foram submetidos à audiometria tonal e vocal, imitanciometria e ao teste GIN. Para a análise estatística foi adotado nível de significância de 0.05. RESULTADOS: na audiometria tonal, a média global dos limiares tonais foi mais elevada para o Grupo Pesquisa, comparado ao Grupo Controle (p = 0,001). A comparação do desempenho no teste GIN mostrou que o Grupo Controle detectou intervalos de silêncio em média com intervalo de tempo menor que o Grupo Pesquisa (p < 0,001). Não houve correlação entre a idade dos sujeitos e o limiar do GIN. CONCLUSÃO: o teste GIN identificou prejuízo na habilidade auditiva de resolução temporal nos indivíduos com zumbido. Na faixa etária pesquisada (entre 21 e 45 anos) não houve correlação entre a idade e os resultados do teste GIN.

OBJETIVO: avaliar o perfil audiométrico e de emissões otoacústicas evocadas por produto de distorção em gestores de trânsito, expostos a monóxido de carbono e ruído, bem como constatar a presença de ambos agentes nos postos de trabalho. MÉTODO:estudo transversal, descritivo, com 37 gestores do trânsito, submetidos a anamnese, meatoscopia, audiometria tonal e emissões otoacústicas, distribuídos em: G1, composto por 18 indivíduos sem histórico de exposição concomitante a monóxido de carbono e ruído; e, G2, formado por 19 trabalhadores expostos simultaneamente aos dois agentes. Para pesquisa da presença dos agentes no ambiente foram utilizadas audiodosímetrias e avaliações de curta duração com medidor instantâneo. As variáveis de anamnese foram analisadas segundo o teste t Student e Mann-Whitney. Para as medidas de otoemissões acústicas e de limiares tonais utilizou-se testes de qui-quadrado (χ2) ou exato de Fisher e dos postos sinalizados de Wilcoxon com significância de 5%. RESULTADOS: foi constatada presença de monóxido de carbono e ruído durante a atividade dos trabalhadores. Não foi observada diferença significante na idade e tempo de função. O G2 obteve média de limiares tonais maior que G1, para orelha direita, em 1KHz (p=0,050) e para orelha esquerda em 3KHz (p=0,016) e 4KHz (p=0,028); e, comparados os limiares tonais alterados G2 apresentou diferença maior em 3KHz na orelha esquerda (p=0,003). Nas emissões otoacústicas, G2 apresentou maior ausência de respostas que G1 em 2.730Hz e 3.218Hz (p=0.016) para orelha direita. CONCLUSÃO: trabalhadores expostos a monóxido de carbono e ruído apresentaram piores resultados audiométricos e nas emissões otoacústicas quando comparado ao grupo de não expostos.

Background: Schwannoma is mostly benign lesion that originates from the Schwannoma cells that cover the myelinated nerve fibers. Schwannoma arising from the tonsil are very rare. In head and neck region the incidence rate of schwannoma is between 25 to 45%. In most of the cases vestibular nerve followed by a parapharyngeal space is involved. It is also known as neurilemmoma. Objective: To diagnoses and manage the case of a Schwannoma of Tonsil. Findings: A case of tonsillar schwannoma in a 42 years old males was reported. The patient presented with unilateral enlargement of left tonsil with congested pharyngeal mucosa. AbstractBackground:The surgical trainee has to acquire surgical skills in an era of reduced training hours and greater demands for efficient use of operating theatre time. Many surgical specialties are utilising model and simulation-based training to provide safe, low-pressure training opportunities for today's trainee.Method and results:This paper describes a simple, relatively inexpensive tonsillectomy model that enables the practice of tonsil removal and ligation of bleeding vessels. The model is beneficial for the patient, trainee and trainer.Conclusion:The pseudo mouth and active bleeding components of this model provide the trainee with a relatively inexpensive, realistic model with which to gain confidence and competence in the skill of ligating tonsillar blood vessels with a tonsil tie.
