Résumé :

Artikkelens hensikt er å vise teaterhistoriens verdi og betydning. Med avsett i et hermeneutisk historiesyn beskrives teaterhistorien som et erkjennelsesmessig samspill mellom samtid og fortid. Begrepet om «historisk bevissthet» diskuteres som et akademisk-historiografisk begrep og som begrepsliggjøring av en nødvendig historisk bevissthet i og rundt samtidsteateret. Med utgangspunkt i en hermeneutisk forståelse av den teaterhistoriske bevisstheten vises det hvordan teatervitenskapen og den teaterhistoriske forskningen i det 20. århundre oppsto og utviklet seg i nært samspill med samtidens teater. Avslutningsvis argumenterer artikkelen for den generelle samfunnsmessige verdien og betydningen av teaterhistorisk forskning og skriving. The purpose of this article is to call attention to the value and significance of theater history. The writing of theater history is described as a hermeneutic inter-play between contemporary and past horizons. The concept of ”historical consciousness” is discussed as an academic historiographical concept and as a conceptualization of a necessary historical consciousness in and around contemporary theater. It is, shown how theatre studies, and especially theatre historiography, in the 20th century, was developed in close interaction with the contemporary theater. In the concluding section, the article argues for a general societal value and significance of theatre historiography.

Grønlands Teaterhistorie – på vej For første gang foreligger der med denne publikation et bud på en afdækning af Grønlands teaterhistorie. Grønlands teaterhistorie er meget omfattende og kan dateres tilbage til 1820rne. Landets teaterhistorie tegnes af såvel skrevne som mundtlige kilder. Ligeledes består Grønlands teaterhistorie af en udbredt praksis med performativ fortællekultur. De involverede skuespillere og performere, amatører såvel som professionelle, udgør samlet set en form for kompleks tradition, hvis repertoire fortsætter i nyere tid. I Grønlands Teaterhistorie – på vej præsenterer redaktionsgruppen, som kommer fra Norge, Danmark og Grønland, sammen med flere andre bidragsydere forskellige sider ved grønlandsk teater- og performance. Med vægt på en historiografisk fremstilling af den grønlandske teaterhistorie søger udgivelsen at rette en større opmærksomhed på dette kæmpe kultur- og kunstlandskab, som gennem 200 år har bidraget til styrkelse af den grønlandske kultur.

Artiklen handler om den internationalt velkendte grønlandske multikunstner, Hans Lynges (1906-1988) væsentlige rolle i den grønlandske teaterhistorie. Han opfattede blandt andet teaterscenen som platform for at bringe samtidige sociale og politiske emner op på en måde, der kunne bringe mere røre i den grønlandsk/danske befolkning end en politisk tale ville kunne formå.The article is about the internationally renowned Greenlandic multi-artist, Hans Lynges (1906-1988) important role in Greenlandic theater history. He perceived, among other things, the theater scene as a platform for bringing up contemporary social and political issues in a way that could bring more touches in the Greenlandic / Danish population than a political speech could achieve.

Résumé :

Forsøgsscenen (1929-31) undersøges i denne artikel som et historisk tidligt eksempel på en fællesskabsorganiserende kunstnerisk praksis. Ved at analysere Forsøgsscenen ud fra ‘analyseobjekterne’ tidsskriftproduktion, distributionspolitik og infrastrukturel performance flyttes interessen fra receptionen af kunstværket i teaterhistorien og nærmere en materialistisk forståelse af Forsøgsscenens produktionsæstetiske bidrag i avantgardehistorien. Historiografisk anlægges en komparativistisk optik, der finder slægtskab både mellem kollektive organiseringer i 1930erne og slægtskab med samtidskoncepter om selv-institutionalisering som modkultur: redistribuerende, politiske og institutionsdannende praksisser, der udfolder sig som respons på de gængse kunstinstitutioner i senkapitalismen.

Denne oppgaven undersøker mulige psykososiale helseeffekter hos palestinsk ungdom etter deltakelse i teaterprosjekt. Oppgaven ser på hvilke ulike muligheter og naturlige tråder som mer eller mindre kan knyttes mellom drama- og teaterfagfeltet og ny psykologisk forskning med menneskets tanker, erfaringer, reaksjoner og psykososiale helse i fokus. Forskningsprosjektet opererer på to nivåer. Jeg har brukt innhentet empiri fra et feltarbeidsopphold ved Ashtarteater i Ramallah i Palestina og jeg har tilnærmet meg ulike typer teori. Analysen er delt inn i fire underkategorier basert på mine empiriske funn: det samfunnspolitiske og kommunikative aspektet, det sosiale, det emosjonelle og mentale og det fysiske. Etter endt analyse står jeg igjen med at teater som en likeverdig, tilrettelagt og konstruktiv arena kan tilføre ungdom tryggheten og erfaringene de trenger for å kunne oppleve en form for positivselv transformasjon og videre posttraumatisk vekst.
This thesis examines the possible psychosocial health effects on Palestinian youth after participation in a theatre project. The thesis looks at the various options and natural threads that more or less can be seen between drama and theatre studies and new psychological research with human thoughts, experiences, reactions and psychosocial health in focus. The research operate son two levels. I have used empirical data obtained from a stay at Ashtar Theatre in Ramallah in Palestine and I have approached various theories. The analysis is divided into four subcategories based on my empirical findings: the socio-political and communicative, the social, the emotional and mental and the physical aspect. By summarizing the analysis, I find that theatre as an equal, accessible and constructive arena can provide youth confidence and experience that enables them to experience a form of positive self-transformation and posttraumatic growth.

The purpose of this study - Actors, costumes and agreements - is to highlight an almost forgotten part of the history of theatre costume and theatre history. During at least two hundred years actors in Sweden were expected to contribute to the performance by their costumes. The study is divided into three parts: agreements, memoirs and conversation. Nine agreements between theatres and actors from 1778 to 1971 will be analyzed with focus on costumes. What do they express about the period, fashion and repertoire, audience? The theatres demand of the actors could be very detailed and shifting. Three memoire books and conversation with seven actors represent the actors view. Questions arise about actors poor economy, theatre culture and gender. The study will also show periods with connection between fashion and theatre costume.

The issue of this thesis concerns a selection of historical debates in which new Swedish drama is under discussion. The studied debates take place in the cultural and political fields and within the fields of theater and literature and deal with a recurring assumption in Swedish theatre history – that new Swedish drama is insufficient. The primary object of this thesis is to find explanations to: why is the Swedish new drama so often described as defective? The following questions, guiding the analysis, are: How are the crises described? What are the stakes? How has the dramatic text been influenced by being judged either as literary product or a product for the stage? How is the playwright’s role described, and perhaps changed, in the crises? The aim of the analysis is to understand how traditions and conventions are shaping the debates and contribute to perpetrate the myth of the malfunctioning Swedish new play. In a historical perspective several attempts have been made to govern new Swedish drama by legislative and political power. New Swedish drama has, for example, been viewed as a possible expression of the nation, as part of shaping the Swedish Welfare state or creating interactive communication with the audience. Despite its many uses, new Swedish drama continues to be describes as flawed. The study starts with King Gustav III:s Swedish theatre where the purpose was to produce Swedish original plays. The study ends with an analysis of a new government grant for new Swedish drama, which was installed in 1999. The chosen debates are analyzed with the help of concepts borrowed from the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, looking at each historical situation as a possible moment for the establishment of the field ”new Swedish drama”. The survey ends with eight interviews with playwrights, who are active today. The conditions for the new Swedish drama are the guiding line in this thesis. These conditions are found in the cultural, social and historical contexts that cooperate when a taste or convention is being shaped. They are part of the discourses in the field, where criteria for the new Swedish drama is formulated. In order to understand the significance of, for example, the expression, ”the newly written Swedish drama” research has been pursued in biographical material, historical surveys, and debates in the daily press and in professional journals. Without being a full bourdieuan analysis, the thesis is using concepts from Bourdieu. The work of British feminist theatre historian Tracy C Davis inspires the critical historic perspective.
