Nell'articolo si affronta il problema del suicidio muovendo dal caso specifico dell'Emilia-Romagna, la regione italiana con il maggior numero di suicidi. La differenza tra i dati nazionali e quelli emiliani denotano, inoltre, una divergenza che conosce nell'ultimo periodo il suo picco massimo: non solo in Emilia-Romagna ci si suicida percentualmente di più, ma con un incremento maggiore rispetto a quello medio del Paese. Per l'analisi del fenomeno, l'Autore indica due percosi: l'exitus e il reditus. Il primo propone alcune interpretazioni di carattere socio logico, psicologico e filosofico. Riprendendo il frame durkheimiano, si nota come il suicidio si accompagni a fenomeni di disgregazione, o di indebolimento, a livello di tutte le diverse comunità in cui la persona vive: familiare, religiosa, sociale, economica, politica. L'analisi della dimensione psicologica rivela l'esistenza di una sindrome presuicidale, caratterizzata da tre aspetti: chiusura esistenziale, autoaggressività repressa, fantasie suicide. La dimensione filosofica favorevole al suicidio è indicata come quella mentalità che attribuisce all'uomo ogni potere sulla propria vita. Il secondo cammino, di reditus, intende disegnare un percorso di uscita, di allontanamento dal suicidio, riandando ai tre livelli- sociale, psicologico e filosofico/religioso - che la prima analisi ha mostrato importanti per la comprensione del fenomeno.

Il presente lavoro rappresenta un primo tentativo di analizzare in chiave spaziale l'efficienza conseguita a livello di governo locale in Italia, utilizzando un database di nuova costruzione, che comprende i 341 comuni della regione Emilia- Romagna. La metodologia d'analisi si basa su una procedura a due stadi. Nel primo stadio, si stimano i punteggi di efficienza attraverso il metodo non parametrico della Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), mentre nel secondo stadio si utilizzano detti punteggi per effettuare un'analisi esplorativa dei dati spaziali (ESDA), basata sulla statistica I di Moran. I risultati mostrano che i comuni considerati sono mediamente inefficienti e che esistono fenomeni di esternalitŕ spaziali, in grado di in- fluenzare positivamente il grado d'efficienza delle amministrazioni comunali. I comuni con un elevato livello d'efficienza, infatti, sono circondati da comuni caratterizzati da un'efficienza altrettanto elevata e viceversa. Parallelamente, si riscontra una non trascurabile evidenza di eterogeneitŕ spaziale. Particolare attenzione č stata posta, sia in fase di costruzione della banca dati sia nel processo di stima, ai problemi di eterogeneitŕ dovuti alla presenza di osservazioni anomale.

L’intervista ha come obiettivo quello di ricostruire la storia della Rete Archivi Udi Emilia-Romagna. Le intervistate hanno ricoperto la presidenza della Rete in fasi e sedi diverse. La Rete, infatti, nasce a Modena alla fine degli anni Ottanta, ed è Rosanna Galli a illustrare come sia nata e come si sia consolidata in Emilia-Romagna. In seguito, nei primi anni Duemila, la sede viene spostata a Ferrara, dove è Micaela Gavioli ad assumerne la responsabilità. Per ultimo, nel 2017 la presidenza è portata a Bologna e Katia Graziosi presenta i progetti che sono stati realizzati in quest’ultimo periodo.

La costituzione del Coordinamento regionale per la valorizzazione degli archivi dell’Udi, avvenuta nel 1988, consentì ai Gruppi Archivio dell’Emilia-Romagna di accedere ad appositi finanziamenti e quindi di affidare incarichi di ordinamento e inventariazione dei propri fondi ad archiviste professioniste. Al confronto di carattere metodologico che ne seguì contribuì anche la Soprintendenza archivistica per l’Emilia-Romagna, che provvide negli stessi anni a effettuare le prime dichiarazioni di interesse culturale di archivi Udi locali.

In recent years, from South Africa to the United States, from Belgium to England, and spreading throughout Europe, various movements arose to remove statues and monuments, perceived as symbols of a past to be left behind. In order to understand these protests, it is necessary to broaden the view, finding analogies and differences with other iconoclastic phases that have occurred in history. While the act of demolishing is similar, intentions may be very different: context and perspective define whether it is vandalism, a demonstration of power or a deeply democratic process of liberation. This dossier is the result of these reflections, anchored in the present debate, trying to identify which elements and peculiar declinations can also be found in the territory of the Emilia-Romagna region.

The present study aims at assessing the innovation strategies adopted within a regional economic system, the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, as it faced the challenges of a changing international scenario. As the strengthening of the regional innovative capabilities is regarded as a keystone to foster a new phase of economic growth, it is important also to understand how the local industrial, institutional, and academic actors have tackled the problem of innovation in the recent past. In this study we explore the approaches to innovation and the strategies adopted by the main regional actors through three different case studies. Chapter 1 provides a general survey of the innovative performance of the regional industries over the past two decades, as it emerges from statistical data and systematic comparisons at the national and European levels. The chapter also discusses the innovation policies that the regional government set up since 2001 in order to strengthen the collaboration among local economic actors, including universities and research centres. As mechanics is the most important regional industry, chapter 2 analyses the combination of knowledge and practices utilized in the period 1960s-1990s in the design of a particular kind of machinery produced by G.D S.p.A., a world-leader in the market of tobacco packaging machines. G.D is based in Bologna, the region’s capital, and is at the centre of the most important Italian packaging district. In chapter 3 the attention turns to the institutional level, focusing on how the local public administrations, and the local, publicly-owned utility companies have dealt with the creation of new telematic networks on the regional territory during the 1990s and 2000s. Finally, chapter 4 assesses the technology transfer carried out by the main university of the region – the University of Bologna – by focusing on the patenting activities involving its research personnel in the period 1960-2010.

La tesi di dottorato La committenza artistica dei Templari e degli Ospitalieri in Emilia Romagna cerca attraverso un approccio metodologico multidisciplinare di ricostruire il patrimonio artistico delle commende dei due ordini religioso cavallereschi in regione. La tesi è stata concepita per riflettere anche a livello strutturale la metodologia d’indagine, così un primo capitolo è dedicato all’analisi storica dei due ordini, con particolare attenzione alla comprensione del rapporto tra gli ordini e il mondo dell’arte. Una secondo capitolo invece è incentrato sulla storiografia artistica relativa e sulle impegnative indagini d’archivio, che, soprattutto attraverso l’utilizzo di una vasta documentazione inedita, hanno permesso di fornire nuovi elementi alla definizione della rete degli insediamenti e della loro decorazione. Lo studio prosegue con la specifica ricostruzione storica e storico artistica delle commende attraverso l’indagine sui singoli insediamenti, dove si è cercato di dar conto delle vicende artistiche e della storia dei suoi protagonisti. Contestualmente alla redazione di questo capitolo, riconoscendo la storia, il senso e l’importanza della scuola stilistico-filologica, si procede alla redazione delle schede di catalogo delle opere superstiti, sia di quelle ancora nelle ex-commende sia di quelle che oggi hanno altre collocazioni. Successivamente, senza necessariamente trarre conclusioni definitive su un lavoro di ricerca che per sua natura è in divenire, si argomentano alcune riflessioni sulla natura, i limiti, i caratteri e l’evoluzione della committenza dei due ordini cavallereschi in regione. Si è così riscoperto un patrimonio artistico vasto e articolato che coniuga capolavori con opere di cultura assai più corsiva, ma comunque sempre capace di raccontare la storia dei suoi artefici (alcuni - come Aristotele Fioravanti, Girolamo da Treviso, Pietro Bembo o Ranuccio Farnese - veri e propri protagonisti del loro tempo), in continuo e sostanziale dialogo con le culture artistiche che hanno attraversato la regione, e non solo, tra Medioevo e Modernità.
The dissertation, titled The art of Templars and Hospitallers' commanderies in Emilia Romagna, tries, through a multidisciplinary approach, to reconstruct the artistic heritage of two monastic and chivalrous Orders in the region. The dissertation was conceived in order to reflect, also in the structural level, the survey methodology: the first chapter was dedicated to an historical analysis of the two Orders, with particular attention to the relation between them and the art-world; the second chapter, instead, was focused on the relating artistic historiography and on a challenging archive investigations, that, above all through the use of an extensive and unpublished documentation, permitted to reveal new elements for a better understanding of the settlements’ net and their decoration. The research continued with the specific historic and artistic reconstruction of the commanderies: through a survey about the specific settlements, I tried to point out the artistic and historic events of its protagonists. Subsequently, without claiming to draw conclusions in a work that necessarily is in becoming, I developed some reflections on the nature, the limits, the characteristics and developments of the artistic patronage. Finally, the card’s stylistic analysis completed my investigation, giving meaning to the historic and documentary surveys. In this way I rediscovered an extensive and articulated artistic heritage that combines masterpieces and more modest works, but in any case capable of delineating the history of their authors (some of them, like Aristotele Fioravanti, Girolamo da Treviso, Pietro Bembo and Ranuccio Farnese, real protagonists of the time), in a continue and substantial dialogue with the artistic cultures that crossed the region, and not only the region, between Middle Age and Early Modernity.

La tesi di dottorato La committenza artistica dei Templari e degli Ospitalieri in Emilia Romagna cerca attraverso un approccio metodologico multidisciplinare di ricostruire il patrimonio artistico delle commende dei due ordini religioso cavallereschi in regione. La tesi è stata concepita per riflettere anche a livello strutturale la metodologia d’indagine, così un primo capitolo è dedicato all’analisi storica dei due ordini, con particolare attenzione alla comprensione del rapporto tra gli ordini e il mondo dell’arte. This doctoral thesis is devoted to the study of the causal effects of the maternal smoking on the delivery cost. The interest of economic consequences of smoking in pregnancy have been studied fairly extensively in the USA, and very little is known in European context. To identify the causal relation between different maternal smoking status and the delivery cost in the Emilia-Romagna region two distinct methods were used. The first - geometric multidimensional - is mainly based on the multivariate approach and involves computing and testing the global imbalance, classifying cases in order to generate well-matched comparison groups, and then computing treatment effects. The second - structural modelling - refers to a general methodological account of model-building and model-testing. The main idea of this approach is to decompose the global mechanism into sub-mechanisms though a recursive decomposition of a multivariate distribution.

L’emigrazione è un fenomeno enormemente studiato, il quale presenta innumerevoli sfaccettature a seconda del periodo storico e del luogo presi in considerazione. Approfondendo lo studio del fenomeno in una regione italiana, come l’Emilia-Romagna si può notare che nel tempo mutano le cause, i mezzi ed anche i soggetti dell’emigrazione. Dalla grande emigrazione del passato, al periodo delle Guerre Mondiali, quando il motore dell’espatrio era il bisogno di sopravvivere, passiamo oggi ad una nuova emigrazione, quella di giovani laureati che decidono di recarsi all’estero per vedere realizzate le loro aspettative nel mondo del lavoro. Sebbene l’emigrazione dall’Emilia-Romagna abbia seguito flussi irregolari nel tempo, la spinta verso l’estero non si è mai del tutto esaurita. Per questo motivo l’ Emilia-Romagna può essere definita una regione di migranti. La consulta degli emiliano - romagnoli nel mondo è l’organismo che si occupa di mantenere i rapporti tra la regione e le varie associazioni di emiliano-romagnoli sparse in 24 paesi. Grazie a questo efficiente organismo gli emigrati e le generazioni successive possono mantenere un saldo legame con la cultura e la tradizione della loro regione italiana d’origine.

Résumé :
Since the Nineties, the process of globalization has caused a sharp increase in the real and financial integration of the worldwide economy, reducing the obstacles to international trade and minimizing the cost of transaction. The entrance of foreign firms in the domestic market has deeply modified the competitive situation of Italian enterprises, which have been forced to change their strategies in order to cope with those of the new competitors. In this scenario, internationalization is no longer one of the different strategic options available for the firm, but it becomes a forced choice to maintain or acquire a competitive advantage sustainable over time. Internationalization strategies of SMEs, however, are hindered by the shortage of financial resources and entrepreneurial skills, therefore this kind of firms tends toward light forms of foreign expansion, like export and subcontracting. Despite this, many studies have demonstrated that the district localisation increases the firms’ productivity and innovative capacity, so their competiveness both at a domestic and international level. The majority of these empirical contributions has focused mainly on the analysis of commercial flows, confirming that district enterprises reach a superior international performance compared to their external competitors. On the contrary, only few works have tried to evaluate the existence of a district effect on the firms’ ability to invest abroad, but the obtained results are not straightforward. One of the reason of these conclusions is that the phenomena has been analysed without taking into account the differences existing between districts in terms of enterprises’ dimension, diffusion of industrial groups and, above all, the sector of productive specialization, because the technological content of production could improve the innovativeness of district firms, allowing them to adopt advanced forms of internationalisation as foreign direct investments (FDI). The aim of the thesis is to further investigate the district effect on internationalisation, trough an econometric analysis of the international strategies carried out by firms localised in three different local system of production characterised by different technological specialization.
