Introduction. Today, many research endeavors are devoted to the miniaturization of microwave sources. One of the promising approaches is the use of magnetic nanostructures (spintronics elements), providing a wide range of frequency tuning and low power consumption. The main disadvantage of spintronics generators (spintransfer nanoscillators ‒ STNO) is a low output power of generated oscillations (tens of nanowatts and less). A possible solution is to sum up the power of many STNOs in a mutual synchronization mode.Aim. The investigation of noise properties of two connected STNOs with identical and non-identical parameters in a phase synchronization mode.Materials and methods. A model was developed of two STNOs interconnected by spin waves taking into account thermal noises. Spectral power densities of the amplitude and phase noise were obtained by the method of effective linearization.Results. Dependencies were obtained in a general form for attenuation coefficients of the amplitude and phase fluctuations of noise sources for each STNO. Three cases of synchronization were considered: completely identical STNOs, two identical STNOs but with different oscillation frequencies, and two non-identical STNOs, differing in an allowance of self-excitation by frequencies and amplitudes of the oscillations. It was possible to obtain a gain in the amplitude and phase noise for two identical STNOs. In this case, an increase in the allowance of self-excitation led to a decrease in the level of phase and amplitude noise.Conclusion. This analysis of the attenuation coefficients for non-identical STNOs demonstrates the possibility of improving the noise properties of each of the generators. In this case, the best noise value is obtained for an STNO with greater stability in a stand-alone mode.

This paper presents the results of spintronic wireless communication using a new modulation method, spin RF-direct on-off keying modulation using a frequency division multiplex (FDM), which modulates amplitude and frequency simultaneously with a spin torque nano-oscillator (STNO) array. For the new modulation technique, each channel can be assigned to every STNO on the STNO array, and each STNO is simultaneously modulated by on-off keying with digital data directly. These modulation technologies have the advantage of increasing the data transmission rate by the number of operating STNOs. In recent years, efforts to increase the speed of transmission are important as the amount of data it sends increase. The receiver demodulates data on every channel through a band pass filter acquiring the frequency assigned to each channel, respectively. To initially confirm the possibility of realizing spin RF-direct on-off keying modulation using an FDM, we demonstrated the proposed modulation technique with two STNOs in an array, setting one STNO at 3.5 GHz frequency and the other at 4.2 GHz, and communicated wirelessly with a two-channel receiver in the near field. A data rate of up to 4 Mbps is obtained with the new modulation technique under 10 mm distance, and the DC power consumption is 0.18 mW per STNO in transmitter, including logic circuit operation.

Radial vortex-based spin torque nano-oscillators (RV-STNOs) have attracted extensive attention as potential nano microwave signal generators due to their advantages over other topological states, such as their higher oscillation, higher microwave power, and lower power consumption. However, the current driving the oscillation frequency of the STNOs must be limited in a small range of adjustment, which means less data transmission channels. In this paper, a new RV-STNO system is proposed with a multiferroic nanostructure, which consists of an ultrathin magnetic multilayer and a piezoelectric layer. Phase diagrams of oscillation frequency and amplitude with respect to piezostrain and current are obtained through micromagnetic simulation. The results show that the threshold current density of −4000-ppm compressive strain-assisted RV-STNOs is reduced from 2 × 109 A/m2 to 2 × 108 A/m2, showing one order of magnitude lower than that of conventional current-driven nano-oscillators. Meanwhile, the range of oscillation frequency adjustment is significantly enhanced, and there is an increased amplitude at the low oscillation point. Moreover, a promising digital binary frequency-shift key (BFSK) and binary amplitude-shift key (BASK) modulation technique is proposed under the combined action of current pulse and piezostrain pulse. They can transmit bit signals and show good modulation characteristics with a minimal transient state. These results provide a reference for developing the next generation of spintronic nano-oscillators with a wide frequency range and low power consumption, showing potential for future wireless communication applications.

The dynamics of the magnetization of the free layer in a spin-torque nano oscillator (STNO) influenced by a noncollinear alignment between the magnetizations of the free and pinned layers due to an interlayer exchange coupling has been investigated theoretically. The orientations of the magnetization of the free layer with that of the pinned layer have been computed through the macrospin model and they are found to match well with experimental results. The bilinear and biquadratic coupling strengths make the current to switch the magnetization between two states or oscillate steadily. The expressions for the critical currents between which oscillations are possible and the critical bilinear coupling strength below which oscillations are not possible are derived. The frequency of the oscillations is shown to be tuned and increased to or above 300 GHz by the current, which is the largest to date among nanopillar-shaped STNOs.

V našom príspevku sa zaoberáme používaním stanov v stredovekom Uhorsku. V období od 10. do 16. storočia boli stany na skúmanom území využívané Slovanmi, Maďarmi, Kumánmi, Tatármi, Rómami, no i ďalšími tu sídliacimi či prisťahovanými etnikami. Opisujeme ich využitie ako trvalého alebo dočasného obydlia, ako núdzovej náhrady strechy nad hlavou, ako provizórneho prístrešku počas dlhého cestovania, počas vojenských výprav, presunov vojenských oddielov alebo obchodníkov či kupeckých kolón. Pri výskume využívame tri druhy prameňov: archeologické, písomné a ikonografické. Všímame si typológiu stanov, ich konštrukciu, používanú terminológiu a výber materiálov pre ich zhotovenie. Náš výskum je sťažený malým počtom zachovaných historických a archeologických zdrojov, no i minimálnym počtom vedeckých publikácií o problematike stanov v celoeurópskom meradle.

Spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNO) are studied in terms of the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert (LLG) equation. The effect on the limit of detectivity of an STNO concerning externally applied magnetic fields is studied with micromagnetic models by placing adjacent magnetic flux concentrators (MFCs) at different distances from the nanopillar to analyze the effect on the induced auto-oscillations and magnetization dynamics. Perpendicular STNO structures allow for different detectivities with respect to externally applied magnetic fields depending on the distance from the MFCs to the nanopillar. The optimal design of an STNO combined with MFCs is proposed to improve the limit of detectivity, where the STNO consists of two out-of-plane (OP) ferromagnetic (FM) layers separated by a MgO insulating nonmagnetic (NM) thin film, and the MFCs positioned in the vicinity of the STNO are made of permalloy. The time evolution of the free-layer magnetization is governed by the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert (LLG) equation. The auto-oscillations induced within the free-layer averaged magnetization are provoked by externally applied magnetic fields. In addition, the DC current-driven auto-oscillations in the STNO structure are studied as a function of the externally applied magnetic field strength, with and without MFCs. The suppression of the DC current-driven auto-oscillations is observed due to the damping effect generated by the MFCs positioned at varying distances with respect to the STNO. By placing MFCs adjacent to the STNO, the lowest detectable magnetic field strength is enhanced from 10 ( μT) to 10 (nT). Therefore, it is concluded that MFCs improve the sensitivity of STNO to externally applied magnetic fields thanks to the damped magnetization dynamics. The results presented in this work could inspire the optimal design of STNO and MFC-based ultra-low magnetic field sensors based on nanoscale oscillators and spintronic diodes.

Synchronization of spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNOs) by magnetic dipolar interactions in a parallel electrical connection (PC) introduces the technological possibility for an enhancement of output signal. In this study, we consider two identical or nonidentical STNOs in serial electrical connection (SC). By using a pendulum-like approximation model, we analytically predict the dipolar coupling strength, critical current and frequency of phase-locking precession. The numerical calculations of those analytical expressions are confirmed by macrospin simulations, revealing that the dipolar coupling strength responsible for the phase-locking in SC case is three times larger than that in the PC case for the two STNOs with the same separation, which results in the enlarged and symmetric phase-locking window of frequency versus current. These results suggest that the SC of multiple STNOs could be more promising for the enhancement of output power.

Spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNOs) have become one of the emerging and novel microwave devices with the high performance and tunability of GHz range frequency. The nanopillar structure with an out-of-plane (OP) spin polarizer and an in-plane (IP) magnetized free layer (FL) has been considered as a good candidate for the STNOs. Using the local rotational coordinate transformation, a nonstationary process describing magnetization dynamics in the laboratory frame is therefore transformed into a stationary one in the rotating frame. In this way, the state phase diagram of this type of STNOs is well established as a function of an applied current and external field, which is also evidenced by the macrospin simulations. Also, we show that the frequency tunability of the STNOs through electrical current can be well elevated by applying a static magnetic field anti-parallel to the spin-polarizer vector.

Spatiotemporal optical vortex (STOV) wavepacket is a new type of vortex optical field carrying transverse orbital angular momentum (OAM). Due to the presence of imbalanced dispersion and diffraction phase, the STOV pulse undergoes fragmentation during free space propagation, leading to the disappearance of the spatiotemporal vortex phase structure. For practical applications, having a stable long-distance propagation of STOV pulse is critical. Recent work demonstrates the transmission of transverse OAM in few-mode fiber. However, the maximum transmission distance is limited to 100 cm due to excessive group velocity dispersion between modes. In this work, we optimize the transmission of transverse OAM by engineering fiber parameters. By tuning the radius of the fiber core and the relative refractive index difference, the group time delay difference values between the LP01 and LP11 modes and their corresponding group velocity dispersion coefficients are minimized. The simulation results show that the optimized fiber allows the first-order STOV pulse to propagate up to 500 cm, and the second-order STOV pulse up to 300 cm without distorting the spatiotemporal vortex phase structure. Long-distance propagation of STOV pulse can create new opportunities and facilitate applications such as developing novel transverse OAM lasers and telecommunication approaches.

We show that in a cell-free translation system derived from wheat germ, STNV RNA lacking the 600-nucleotide trailer is translated an order of magnitude less efficiently than full-size RNA. Deletion analyses positioned the translational enhancer domain (TED) within a conserved hairpin structure immediately downstream from the coat protein cistron. TED enhances translation when fused to a heterologous mRNA, but the level of enhancement depends on the nature of the 5' untranslated sequence and is maximal in combination with the STNV leader. The STNV leader and TED have two regions of complementarity. One of the complementary regions in TED resembles picornavirus box A, which is involved in cap-independent translation but which is located upstream of the coding region.

AbstractAn axisymmetric model of a spin-transfer nano-oscillator (STNO) under the action of statistically isotropic magnetic-field fluctuations is considered. An expression for the stationary probability-density distribution of the angular coordinates of magnetization vector is analytically derived and used for determining dependences of the mean value and standard deviation of the amplitude and the mean oscillation frequency on the magnitude of current. The phenomenon of noise-induced shifts of the mean values of STNO amplitude and frequency is discovered. The latter effect qualitatively explains the experimentally observed dependences of the generation frequency on the STNO current.

The present study investigated the excitation of the biceps brachii and anterior deltoid during bilateral biceps curl performed using the straight vs. EZ barbell and with or without flexing the arms. Ten competitive bodybuilders performed bilateral biceps curl in non-exhaustive 6-rep sets using 8-RM in four variations: using the straight barbell flexing (STflex) or not flexing the arms (STno-flex) or the EZ barbell flexing (EZflex) or not flexing the arms (EZno-flex). The ascending and descending phases were separately analyzed using the normalized root mean square (nRMS) collected using surface electro-myography. For the biceps brachii, during the ascending phase, a greater nRMS was observed in STno-flex vs. EZno-flex (+1.8%, effect size [ES]: 0.74), in STflex vs. STno-flex (+17.7%, ES: 3.93) and in EZflex vs. EZno-flex (+20.3%, ES: 5.87). During the descending phase, a greater nRMS was observed in STflex vs. EZflex (+3.8%, ES: 1.15), in STno-flex vs. STflex (+2.8%, ES: 0.86) and in EZno-flex vs. EZflex (+8.1%, ES: 1.81). The anterior deltoid showed distinct excitation based on the arm flexion/no-flexion. A slight advantage in biceps brachii excitation appears when using the straight vs. EZ barbell. Flexing or not flexing the arms seems to uniquely excite the biceps brachii and anterior deltoid. Practitioners should consider including different bilateral biceps barbell curls in their routine to vary the neural and mechanical stimuli.

The current-driven magnetization precession dynamics stimulated by Spin-Transfer Torque (STT) in a trilayer spin-valve device (typically Spin-Torque Nanooscillator (STNO)) is numerically investigated by solving the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert–Slonczewski (LLGS) equation. We have devised four STNO devices made of ferromagnetic alloys such as CoPt, CoFeB, Fe[Formula: see text]B[Formula: see text]Ni2 and EuO, which act as free and fixed layers. Here, copper acts as a nonmagnetic spacer for all the devices. In this work, we have introduced the current-induced Oersted field, which is generated when a spin-polarized current passes through the device. The generated Oersted field strength is varied by increasing the diameter of the STNO device. Frequency tunability is achieved in all the four devices, whereas the power of the individual device reduces. The frequency and power of the devices depend entirely on the saturation magnetization of the material, which inherently reflects in the current density and the coherence of the spin-polarized DC. In all devices, the frequency increases, whereas the power decreases by increasing the strength of the Oersted field. Among the four devices, the maximum frequency can be tuned up to 104[Formula: see text]GHz with 40[Formula: see text]nm device diameter, which is obtained for EuO material. This opens a promising source and paves a glittering future for the nanoscale spintronic devices.

Abstract Here, we have devised a heterogeneous-based Tilted Polarizer [TP] Spin Torque Nano Oscillator [STNO] along with the consideration of the Current Induced Oersted Field [CIOF]. The magnetization precession dynamics governed by Spin Transfer Torque [STT] are studied by solving Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert-Slonczewski [LLGS] equation numerically. Here, β refers to an independent tilt angle of the pinned layer, and θ refers to an angle between the free layer magnetization and the easy axis of the device, respectively. The device emits a maximum frequency of about 77.5 GHz and PSD of 1.3 µW/mA2/GHz with 50 kA/m as the strength of CIOF. The author sparks that the modeled OE TP STNO device applies to High-Frequency applications and paves the way for forthcoming spintronic devices in the future.

Abstract In this article, we theoretically investigate the influence of strain on the oscillation frequency characteristics of a skyrmion-based spin-torque nano-oscillator (STNO) using micromagnetic simulations. The system consists of an ultrathin nanopillar magnetic film with interfacial Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interactions and a ring-shaped region to offer a tunable spatial strain source. The applied strain gives rise to an extra effective field in the magnetic film through magnetoelastic coupling and forms a strong confined potential for skyrmion dynamics. Our simulation results show that the operation frequency of the STNO can be effectively modulated by the strain. Furthermore, we introduce a simplified analytical expression of the skyrmion gyration dynamics to explain the micromagnetic simulation results. Our results will be useful in the development of wide-range frequency-tunable microwave emitters and frequency-shift keying for wireless communication.

The amount of transverse orbital angular momentum (OAM) carried by the spatiotemporal optical vortices (STOVs) is being hotly debated. In this contribution I unveil the mystery of the amount of total, intrinsic and extrinsic transverse OAM carried by STOVs. They do not carry any total transverse OAM about a static transverse axis crossing the STOV center. Yet, STOVs carry a transverse OAM about a moving transverse axis crossing the STOV center permanently, which is identified with the intrinsic OAM, and an opposite extrinsic transverse OAM about the fixed axis. These results raise questions about the interpretation of second-harmonic and high-harmonic experiments or simulations with STOVs, and the capability of STOVs to transmit OAM to particles. Other advances such as observation of vortex splitting and topological charge flipping of high-order STOVs in free space and in dispersive media, and the transverse torque exerted by optical elements will be discussed.

The dynamics of the magnetization vector in the free layer of a layered spin-valve structure was simulated. As materials for the free and fixed layers, six magnetically soft ferromagnets with longitudinal anisotropy were considered. The types of magnetization dynamics that are of practical interest for MRAM and HMDD (switching of the magnetization vector), STNO (stable precession of the magnetization vector), and the base element PSL (switching of the magnetization vector with two probable outcomes) were highlighted. The ranges of currents and fields corresponding to these operating modes of the spin valve were calculated. The numerical calculations of the switching time showed that, among the considered materials for the MRAM cell, the most suitable is Co80Gd20 alloy, while for the HMDD read head, it is Fe60Co20B20. As a result of the precession frequency calculations, it was concluded that the Fe60Co20B20 alloy is optimal for the STNO ferromagnetic layers. For the implementation of PSL, the best switching characteristics were demonstrated by the Co93Gd7 alloy.

Eliminating tillage passes is a means to reduce production costs and dust emissions in California's San Joaquin Valley tomato production region. Inserting winter cover crops between summer crops may be a way to add organic matter to the soil and thereby improve soil quality. From 1999, we evaluated conservation tillage (CT) and cover cropping (CC) in a tomato/cotton rotation in Five Points, Calif. During the course of the study, tillage operations were reduced an average of 50% in the CT system relative to the standard tillage (ST) approach. Yields in the CT no cover crop (NO) system matched or exceeded yields in the STNO system in each year. Tomato yields in the CTCC and STCC systems were comparable to the STNO except in the first year, when stand establishment and early season vigor were problems. Weed management and machine harvest efficiency in high surface residue systems are issues requiring additional work in order to make CT adoption more widespread.

In this work, the mode analysis technique of complex networks nonlinear selfoscillatory vortex-based spin-torque nano-oscillattors (STNOs) with nonidentity and nonisochrony is developed. We construct adjacency matrices of different type of networks and calculate the normal modes. After the calculation of normal modes we shift to truncated equations for slowly varying amplitudes and phases in the normal coordinates using generalized quasi-Hamiltonian approach. Finally, we present the phase dynamics based on the Kuramotoapproach and compare different networks to the ability of synchronization.

The vast majority of viruses consist of a nucleic acid surrounded by a protective icosahedral protein shell called the capsid. During viral infection of a host cell, the timing and efficiency of the assembly process is important for ensuring the production of infectious new progeny virus particles. In the class of single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) viruses, the assembly of the capsid takes place in tandem with packaging of the ssRNA genome in a highly cooperative co-assembly process. In simple ssRNA viruses such as the bacteriophage MS2 and small RNA plant viruses such as STNV, this cooperative process results from multiple interactions between the protein shell and sites in the RNA genome which have been termed packaging signals. Using a stochastic assembly algorithm which includes cooperative interactions between the protein shell and packaging signals in the RNA genome, we demonstrate that highly efficient assembly of STNV capsids arises from a set of simple local rules. Altering the local assembly rules results in different nucleation scenarios with varying assembly efficiencies, which in some cases depend strongly on interactions with RNA packaging signals. Our results provide a potential simple explanation based on local assembly rules for the ability of some ssRNA viruses to spontaneously assemble around charged polymers and other non-viral RNAs in vitro.

Abstract We generate a spatiotemporal optical vortex (STOV) with tunable orbital angular momentum (OAM) orientation by a simple lens system. We utilize a cylindrical lens system, which is an astigmatic mode converter, to add longitudinal angular momentum to tilt the purely transverse OAM in an arbitrary direction. The amount of tilt is tunable by adjusting the lens system, and thus the OAM direction is continuously adjustable. STOVs with adjustable OAM directions have been verified theoretically and experimentally. We believe such direction controllable OAMs will enrich future applications.

Satellite tobacco necrosis virus (STNV) is one of the smallest viruses known. Its genome encodes only its coat protein (CP) subunit, relying on the polymerase of its helper virus TNV for replication. The genome has been shown to contain a cryptic set of dispersed assembly signals in the form of stem-loops that each present a minimal CP-binding motif AXXA in the loops. The genomic fragment encompassing nucleotides 1–127 is predicted to contain five such packaging signals (PSs). We have used mutagenesis to determine the critical assembly features in this region. These include the CP-binding motif, the relative placement of PS stem-loops, their number, and their folding propensity. CP binding has an electrostatic contribution, but assembly nucleation is dominated by the recognition of the folded PSs in the RNA fragment. Mutation to remove all AXXA motifs in PSs throughout the genome yields an RNA that is unable to assemble efficiently. In contrast, when a synthetic 127-nt fragment encompassing improved PSs is swapped onto the RNA otherwise lacking CP recognition motifs, assembly is partially restored, although the virus-like particles created are incomplete, implying that PSs outside this region are required for correct assembly. Swapping this improved region into the wild-type STNV1 sequence results in a better assembly substrate than the viral RNA, producing complete capsids and outcompeting the wild-type genome in head-to-head competition. These data confirm details of the PS-mediated assembly mechanism for STNV and identify an efficient approach for production of stable virus-like particles encapsidating nonnative RNAs or other cargoes.

In this work, we present an analysis of skyrmion dynamics considering Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interactions in an STNO device with a double-disk geometry. Three regimes were observed as a function of geometric parameters and the electric current density: (i) the skyrmion is annihilating at the system’s border; (ii) the skyrmion moves in a non-circular trajectory alternating its position between the two disks, and (iii) the skyrmion only rotates inside a one-disk subsystem. For the annihilation state, we found that the transient time decays within a stretched exponential law as a function of the electric current. Our results show a 2D state diagram that can guide new experimental work in order to obtain these specific behaviors for new applications based on skyrmion dynamics.

Introduction. The article presents the results of the study of the degree of influence of paternal origin on economically useful traits of first-born cows of the Simmental breed in organic and conventional herds. Materials and methods of research. The research was conducted in herds of the Simmental breed of PE "Galex-Agro" (organic milk production, n = 272) and STOV "Myroslavel-Agro" (conventional milk production, n = 120) of the Zhytomyr region. The most numerous breeding bulls in terms of the number of daughters were selected for the research in the conditions of organic production of PE "Galex-Agro": Dollar CZ 120158021 (18 daughters), Dustin CZ 500883061 (10 daughters), Incubus CZ 577790071 (20 daughters), Rumgo AT 168213272 (19 daughters), Brilliant CZ 141771694 (11 daughters), Expert CZ 510887061 (18 daughters), Emilik CZ 520019032 (19 daughters); in the conditions of conventional production of the "Myroslavel-Agro" STOV: Bavor CZ 105770664 (10 daughters), Morello CZ 12451683 (11 daughters), Radi CZ 20997683 (16 daughters). Research and methods of research. The data obtained convincingly testify to the genetic influence of breeder bulls on the manifestation of milk productivity, reproductive capacity, and dynamics of live weight of heifers during their rearing in conditions of organic and conventional milk production. We managed to perform intergroup differentiation of breeding bulls according to the milk productivity of daughters and to identify the best ones and confirm their influence on the manifestation of these traits. A statistically significant difference (from P < 0.05 to P < 0.001) in terms of milk productivity between daughters of the best and worst breeders according to these characteristics was found in 100% of cases. The best manifestation of the quantitative signs of milk productivity was characterized by the daughters of the breeding sire Brilliant CZ 141771694, and the worst by Dustin CZ 500883061. A statically significant difference of 0.20% was found in the milk protein content in favor of the daughters of the breeder Dollar CZ 120158021 compared to the daughters of the breeding sire Dustin CZ 500883061. In general, the daughters of breeder bulls represented by Galex-Agro PE were distinguished by higher milk productivity compared to their peers in the conditions of the Myroslavel-Agro farm. Since different breeding bulls were used in organic and conventional milk production, it was not possible to identify prepotent bulls simultaneously in both systems. However, there is a tendency that under the conditions of both farms, the descendants of the Redada line turned out to be the best (Rumgo AT 168213272 – PE "Galex-Agro", Radi CZ 20997683 – STOV "Myroslavel-Agro"). In the conditions of PE "Galex-Agro", it is worth noting the bull Brilliant CZ 141771694, whose daughters had a statistically significant advantage over the peers of other bulls in the vast majority of quantitative signs of milk productivity. The obtained data convincingly testify to the expediency of using the mentioned bulls in the conditions of both farms. The assessment of the reproductive capacity of the daughters of various breeder bulls under conditions of organic production showed that the daughters of all bulls, except for Expert CZ 510887061, were characterized by close to the desired length of biological periods of reproduction. The most desired parameters of reproductive ability were characterized by the daughters of breeding bulls Dollar CZ 120158021 and Rumgo AT 168213272, the least–daughters of Expert CZ 510887061. It is worth noting that when comparing group averages in 84% of cases it was possible to establish a statistically significant level of intergroup difference between the daughters of the best and worst bulls – breeders according to the duration of their biological periods of reproduction. In the conditions of conventional milk production of the "Myroslavel-Agro" dairy farm, a worse manifestation of the reproductive ability of the daughters of breeder bulls was established than in the conditions of the "Galex-Agro" PE. The half-sisters of the sire Radi CZ 20997683 were characterized by a slightly better manifestation of the signs of reproductive ability, and the worse - Bavor CZ 102554690. There was a slight intergroup fluctuation in the average values of the signs of reproductive ability. There is a significant level of intergroup differentiation of half-sisters by the father of different bulls for the live weight of their daughters in the period of their rearing from birth to 18 months of age. It is worth noting that in the conditions of the Galex-Agro PE, in all cases of comparisons based on the signs of milk productivity, it was not possible to establish non-consolidation in the daughters of bulls: Rumgo AT 168213272, Brilliant CZ 141771694, and in the conditions of the Myroslavel-Agro STOV – Rada CZ 20997683, these bulls were also characterized by the highest milk productivity. Therefore, the use of these prepotent improvers for milk productivity will contribute not only to an increase in productivity but also to its consolidation. Conclusions. In the conditions of organic management of the dairy industry (PP "Galex-Agro"), there is a statistically significant effect of sire's origin on the yield in 305 days of lactation, milk fat, protein content in milk, milk protein, total production of fat and protein (Р < 0.01 ). The highest influence of paternal origin among the traits of milk productivity was on the protein content of milk which amounted to 40.5%. As for the conventional farm (STOV "Myroslavel-Agro"), there was no statistically significant effect of paternal origin on most of the milk productivity traits (P > 0.05).

Judging by the future plans expressed in the Census, 410.3 thousand refugees and other war affected persons intend to permanently settle in the FR of Yugoslavia, while approximately 54 thousand persons are planning repatriation. The census results show that the younger, better educated, employed and those with their own apartments, more than others wish to remain in the FR of Yugoslavia. War-affected persons of other than Serb nationality, the elderly, pensioners, the unemployed and those accommodated in collective centers, to a greater extent plan to repatriate. In order to find durable solutions it is important also to analyze the number of war-affected persons and the conditions under which they would return to their previous habitual residence. According to the survey, conducted by the Economic institute, a mere 4.0% of the respondents replied that they would return "regardless of everything, while a further 3.9% would return if they were given guarantees regarding their safety. An important factor for 34.2% of the respondents, in addition to their safety is the existence of appropriate financial conditions, while 57.9% would not return, under any circumstances. Although the future plans of the refugees cannot be considered as being definite, finding durable solutions, especially in the sphere of refugee integration cannot be left to spontaneous processes. Rather this requires the formulation of a programme that must be development oriented and designed so that conflicts with the local population are avoided. A precisely defined legal and institutional framework is necessary for integration. Both in this sphere, and especially in the part which will remain humanitarian in character, international assistance is indispensable.

Rad predstavlja sintezu iskustava populacione politike u svetu u dvadesetom veku. Prezentirane su mortalitetna politika, politika prema fertilitetu, politika prema starima i migratorna politika. Program akcije usvojen na kairskoj konferenciji posmatran je u kontekstu novih pristupa populacionoj politici. Politici u oblasti fertiliteta stanovništva je posvećen najveći deo ovog priloga, pre svega, zbog toga što je ona u najvećoj meri demografska politika i politika sa najviše nedoumica. Specifičnost problema rađanja u Srbiji uslovila je obuhvat iskustava razvijenih i nerazvijenih zemalja. Dat je što konkretniji izraz principa, ciljeva i mera. Obrađeno je i pitanje efikasnosti odnosno razlozi izostavljanja željenih efekata. Analiza je pokazala da osobine i rezultati dosadašnje politike u oblasti fertiliteta stanovništva i mere koje se predlažu za sledeće decenije otkrivaju krupne probleme koji se gotovo graniče sa nemoći i u razvijenim zemljama i u zemljama u razvoju, za razliku od mortalitetne i migratorne politike i političkog odgovora na starenje populacije. Pored nesumnjivog napretka u kvalitativnom smislu - rasprostranjenost, postavljena načela, principi i ciljevi, izgrađen institucionalni okvir - natalitetna politika nije dovoljno efikasna da reši populacioni problem. Akcije u prilog rađanja odnosno njegovog ograničavanja moraju biti intenzivnije, celovitije i istraživačke. Ekonomski razvoj koji bi respektovao demografski faktor u svetu koji se razvija i populaciona edukacija u razvijenom svetu se nameću kao mogući novi pravci politike. Međutim, veliki i možda najsloženiji problem koji populaciona politika treba da savlada nalazi se u sferi svesti - državnoj, političkoj, društvenoj i individualnoj.

Egzodus stručnjaka, poznatiji kao "odliv mozgova", predstavlja masovne migracije visokostručne radne snage koja se iseljava iz nerazvijenih u razvijene zemlje u potrazi za boljim uslovima života i rada. Ova pojava postaje izražena sredinom šezdesetih godina, kada počinje masovno migriranje stručnjaka iz zemalja u razvoju u razvijene zemlje, a taj proces vremenom intenzivira, obubvata sve veći broj zemalja i u njemu učestvuje sve više ljudi. Odliv stručnjaka iz Jugoslavije poslednjih godina poprima dramatične razmere, zajedno sa burnim društvenim previranjima na našem tlu. Uprkos tome, veoma je mali broj autora koji se bavi ovim problemom, pre svega zbog nedostatka elementamih izvora informacija. Proučavanje problematike spoljnih migracija, a naročito migracija radne snage (kako u SFRJ, tako i u SRJ) oduvek se zasnivalo na procenama autoriteta, jer javnosti nikada nisu bili dostupni tačni podaci o broju i strukturi iseljenih. Pored nepotpune statističke evidencije, u radu su izneti rezultati malobrojnih i uglavnom parcijalnih istrazivanja ove pojave, kao i neke procene. Iznošenjem karakteristika zaposlenosti, odnosno nezaposlenosti u našoj zemlji na indirektan način se ukazuje na eventualne razmere emigriranja stručnjaka. Pošto se iseljavanje naučnika i stručnjaka iz naše zemlje uglavnom posmatra iz perspektive društvenog gubitka (koji je neosporan), u ovom radu je načinjen pokušaj da se ukae na zanemareni značaj i legitimitet individualnog prava na lični uspeh. Jugoslovensko društvo je danas opterećeno ne samo otvorenom, već i prikrivenom nezaposlenošću, kao i neadekvatnom zaposlenošću visokoobrazovnih stručnjaka, pa o velikim društvenim gubicima možemo govoriti i u odnosu na visokoobrazovane građane nase zemlje. U situaciji veoma teške društvene krize, u Jugoslaviji postoje dva nivoa "odliva mozgova": jedan se ogleda u emigraciji stručnjaka, a drugi u propadanju postojećih stručnih potencijala.

Već po ustaljenoj tradiciji, razmatranje nekih ključnih metodoloških pitanja popisa stanovništva, pre i posle izvršenih probnih popisa, izaziva pojačanu pažnju stručne javnosti. Nažalost, za većinu tih probnih popisa pa i za probne popise koji su prethodili redovnom popisu 1981. godine, ne može se reći da su ostvarili svoj primarni zadatak koji se sastojao u definisanju sadržaja redovnog popisa i empirijskoj proveri pouzdanosti metodološkog instrumentarija koji će pri njegovoj realizaciji biti primenjen. Sadržinska nepodudarnost probnih i redovnih popisa, kao i korišćenje ad hoc utvrđenih metodoloških rešenja u probnim popisima postaju, sudeći po dosadanjim iskustvima, prepoznatljive karakteristike jugoslovenske statističke prakse. U radu se, takođe, daje osvrt na neka važna metodološka sadržinska pitanja kao što su: 1) kategorizacija stanovništva prema "prisutnosti", 2) potreba za sadržinskom standardizacijom popisa i redukcijom broja pitanja na popisnim obrascima, 3) potreba za izradom adekvatnije statističke klasifikacije (tipologije) naselja, 4) mogućnosti za dobijanje "izvedenih" obeležja, 5) problemi vezani za realizaciju jedinstvenog projekta automatske obrade podataka, 6) utvrđivanje kriterijuma logičke kontrole i njihov uticaj na kvalitet podataka i dr.
