Résumé :
This article reveals that ecological humanism has the status of a universal spiritual and moral value. Its content is based on the concretization of universal: social, economic, political, spiritual, ideological ecological relations. In the context of the ecological crisis, the issue of improving environmental thinking is put forward by placing the problem of humanism in the spotlight of the scientific community.

Résumé :
This paper addresses the question of what value pluralism tells us about the pursuit of moral coherence as a method of moral reasoning. I focus on the status of the norm of ‘systematicity, ’ or the demand that our principles be as few and as simple as possible. I argue that, given certain descriptive facts about the pluralistic ways we value, epistemic ways of supporting a systematicity norm do not succeed. Because it is sometimes suggested that coherence functions in moral reasoning as it does in scientific reasoning, my argument considers analogies and disanalogies between moral reasoning and scientific reasoning.

Résumé :
If we were required to sacrifice our own interests whenever doing so was best overall, or prohibited from doing so unless it was optimal, then we would be mere sites for the realization of value. Our interests, not ourselves, would wholly determine what we ought to do. We are not mere sites for the realization of value – instead we, ourselves, matter unconditionally. So we have options to act suboptimally. These options have limits, grounded in the very same considerations. Though not merely such sites, you and I are also sites for the realization of value, and our interests (and ourselves) must therefore sometimes determine what others ought to do, in particular requiring them to bear reasonable costs for our sake. Likewise, just as my moral status grounds a requirement that others show me appropriate respect, so must I do to myself.

Résumé :
Kant’s doctrine of the “categorical imperative” with respect to ratiocentrism needs to be examined for its implications for environmental ethics. Kant’s argument is that moral actions must be categorical or unqualified imperatives that reflect the sovereignty of moral obligations that all rational moral agents could figure out by virtue of their rationality. For Kant, humans have no direct moral obligations to non-rational, nonhuman nature: only rational beings, i.e., humans, are worthy of moral consideration. I argue that this position is excessively anthropocentric and ratiocentric in excluding the nonhuman natural world from moral consideration. While conceding that nonhuman nature is instrumentally valuable owing to some inevitable existential, ontological considerations, moral obligation should be extended to the natural world in order to achieve environmental wholeness.

Résumé :
This paper presents three theoretical accounts developed to assess the moral value and legal status of acts designed to promote commercial gain in the thought of major classical Muslim scholars. There has been an increased interest in Islamic commercial law and ethics in recent years. Much of the recent scholarship consists of practically inclined studies that tend to lump the Islamic tradition of evaluation of commerce under the principles of social justice and avoidance of harm. Our study of three selected scholars will reveal distinct approaches that are characteristic of classical Islamic ethical discussions: anchoring moral value in this world, attributing moral goodness to salvation in the next world, and finding a balance between these two approaches. Counterintuitively, we will see that the naturalistic view that ascribes moral values to things and actions was the most restrictive, whereas the dualistic model that focuses on salvation in the next world was markedly more permissive of commercial transactions.

Résumé :
This paper addresses the question: Who or what can have a moral status in the sense that we have direct moral duties to them? It argues for a biocentric answer which ascribes inherent moral status value to all individual living organisms. This position must be defended against an anthropocentric position. The argument from marginal cases propounded by Tom Regan and Peter Singer for this purpose is criticised as defective, and a different argument is proposed. The biocentric position developed here is related to that of Albert Schweitzer and Paul F. Taylor, but rejects their assumption of equal inherent value for all living organisms. It argues instead for equal moral status value for moral persons and agents, and gradual moral status value for nonpersons, depending on their degree of similarity with moral persons. Mary Ann Warren's recent book on Moral Status is also discussed. The argument is constructed as a casuistic argument, proceeding by analogical extension from persons to non-persons. The meta-ethical question of its pragmatic validity is discussed.

Résumé :
Christopher Grau argues that the genetic basis for moral agency account of rightholding is problematic because it fails to grant all human beings the moral status of rightholding; it grants the status of rightholding to entities that do not intuitively deserve such status; and it assumes that the genetic basis for moral agency has intrinsic/final value, but the genetic basis for moral agency only has instrumental value. Grau also argues that those who are inclined to hold that all human beings are rightholders should reconsider speciesism. In this paper, I argue that Grau’s objections do not undermine the genetic basis for moral agency account of rightholding, and I also offer criticisms of Grau’s defense of speciesism.

Résumé :
This thesis is an analysis of the media attention concerning the artist Anna Odell and her artwork Okänd, kvinna 2009 – 349701. The main materials I have used come from newspapers and articles where critics discuss Odell´s artwork in the period 2009 to 2015. The theoretical and methodological framework is based on Arthur C. Danto, George Dickie and Howard Beckers understanding of the art world and how artwork and artist receive their status. Another theoretical tool I have used is a discourse theory of Mara Lee. Lee helped me to understand the language and the relations between power and institutions. My aim with this thesis has been to understand how Okänd, kvinna 2009 – 349701 achieved its value and its transformation from a bad to a good evaluation. Why did Odell, in the beginning, get blamed for using tax money, tricking people in to believing that she was mentally ill resulting to the attention of the police, but in the end became an appreciated artist for this very same action? Odell was criticized for her behavior and was accused of stepping over a line for using art in a questionable way. A discussion started about the question of what art is. And what the purpose of art in society is. A few years later, in 2015, Odell was called one of the most interesting artists in Sweden by art critics when they wrote about Okänd, kvinna 2009 – 349701. What changed in the eyes of the critics? What is artistic quality and how can we understand the transformation that Odell´s artwork underwent? My analysis shows that esthetic quality depends on the situation and in ethics and morality. At the beginning the critics compared Okänd, kvinna 2009 – 349701 and the profession of psychiatry and in that comparison the psychiatry profession is more important than art. People attributed more confidence to a doctor than to a student of art regarding the truth about what happened at the psychiatric institution of St: Göran´s on the 21th of January 2009.

Résumé :
Thesis (Ph. D.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Linguistics and Philosophy, 2003.
Includes bibliographical references.
Chapters One through Three present the following view: (i) I explain moral status as follows: something has moral status just in case we have reasons not to cause harms to it simply in virtue of the badness of the harms for it. (ii) Moral status is not a matter of degree. (iii) A living thing has moral status just in case it is ever conscious. (iv) If something has moral status, then the strength of a moral reason not to harm it is proportional to the severity of the harm. In this view, all humans and animals that are ever conscious have moral status. Future consciousness is sufficient for present moral status. An embryo of any species that will actually be conscious in the future, presently has moral status. Living humans who were conscious but are not and never will be again do have moral status. Any being that dies before it is ever conscious lacks moral status, regardless of its potential. Mere potentiality to be a person is not sufficient for moral status. However, a being's potential future affects the severity of certain harms. There are stronger reasons to avoid causing the deaths of humans than to avoid causing the deaths of cats, because humans lose more in death than cats do. Chapters One through Three present the above view. I argue that this view can resolve certain apparent tensions within two different attractive combinations of views, and on this basis I argue that the above view should be adopted.
(cont.) Chapter Four, "Can We Harm and Benefit in Creating?" proposes a solution to the puzzle of actions that appear to be wrong in virtue of harming a particular individual, but where the individual would not have existed if the action had not been performed, so the individual is not made worse off by the action. Chapter Five, "Ethics Without Ethical Theory," defends part of the methodology of Chapters One through Four by defending the view that we can justifiably reach important substantive ethical conclusions without commitment to a particular ethical theory, or to a particular meta-ethical view.

Résumé :
Debate concerning the relationship between ethics and aesthetics has re-emerged in contemporary aesthetic literature. All of the major contemporary positions, I argue, treat this relationship as existing between the "moral value" of art and its aesthetic value. Throughout this thesis I analyse the various "value- based" positions (ethicism, moderate moralism, and contextualism) and examine whether their accounts of this relationship hold. My aim is to explore whether an alternative account - in which the aesthetic value of art can be enhanced or negated through its "moral significance", rather than its "moral value" - is plausible. I argue, that given the failure of these value- based positions we should favour a "significance- based contexutalist" approach that is better equipped to account for the complexity of both our engagement with art, and the moral reflection that it invites.

Résumé :
This dissertation examines the moral character of civil disobedience. The discussion begins with a conceptual analysis of civil disobedience which eschews standard definitions in favour of a paradigm case approach, highlighting a parallel between the communicative aspects of civil disobedience and the communicative aspects of lawful punishment by the state. Foundations for a moral evaluation of civil disobedience are then laid down through, first, an examination of the nature of wrongdoing and justification, and second, a critique of contemporary defences of political obligation. The absence of political obligation, it is argued, does not immediately justify civil disobedience even in reprehensible regimes because, in all contexts, adherence to the law and disobedience of the law must be judged on the basis of their character and consequences. Various considerations relevant to the justifiability of civil disobedience are then examined before the discussion turns to the three principal claims defended in this thesis. The first is that people have a moral right to engage in civil disobedience irrespective of both the political regime and the merits of their cause. The second is that the reasons for which people engage in civil disobedience may be understood in terms of a pursuit of ideals. When motivated by a deep commitment to the genuine ideals of their society, disobedients may be said to demonstrate responsible citizenship. The third claim is that the law should treat disobedients differently from other offenders. When civil disobedience is morally justified, and sometimes when it is not, the law has reason to be lenient to its practitioners. In defending these claims, this discussion critiques not only the 'classical' narrow conception of civil disobedience as a public, non-violent, conscientious breach of law for which disobedients are willing to be punished, but also broader conceptions of civil disobedience which take a modest view of its justifiability and accord it limited status as a moral right.

Résumé :
Although moral individualism is sufficient for making fair moral decisions, it is itself supported by our implicit moral commitments; Rawls (and consequently Rowlands) uses the original position as a method for making moral decisions that are both fair and consistent without proposing a normative moral code, and DeGrazia adds content to this method by spelling out what interests are and which individuals are capable of having interests - and thus being morally considerable. Rawls does not go far enough in the process of bracketing off undeserved, unearned properties; he fails to see that properties such as rationality and species are undeserved.

Using Rowlands' interpretation of Rawls, I argue that the revised intuitive equality argument provides the justification for the social contract argument - that is, for bracketing off the properties that are arbitrary. I use DeGrazia to make the case for sentience as being essential for moral consideration. Sentience is necessary and sufficient for having interests, and having interests is sufficient for being worthy of moral consideration. From this, I conclude that because there are many sentient nonhuman animals, there are many nonhuman animals that are worthy of moral consideration. Being morally considerable is not equivalent to having substantial moral status.

Rachels' moral individualism allows us to make moral decisions based upon the properties or characteristics of the individual, and this is particularly useful for pinpointing our treatment of humans and our justification for doing so and then simply extending this line of thought to nonhumans. This method allows us to isolate what is indeed relevant to the situation at hand and to consider if both individuals under consideration share it. In the case of moral status, sentience will play an important role because it is a property shared by humans and at least some nonhuman animals. Using Rawls, Rowlands, DeGrazia and Rachels as support, I conclude that at least some animals have significant moral status.

Résumé :
Abstract The most important of the assumptions entering into the foregoing argument is that, if a class such as Beta-plus cannot resolve its status incongruity through its incorporation into Alpha, then it will attempt to delegitimate the existing status hierarchy by promoting a counter value system. This assumption is vital to the explanation of declassification as moral polarization. In the literature on social stratification it seems to be fairly well accepted that chronic relative deprivation resulting from unresolved status incongruity is a structural precondition of the mobilization of disaffected groups around a new set of values and beliefs that undermines the legitimacy of the status order.

Résumé :
The minds of biological creatures occupy a small corner of a much larger space of possible minds that could be created once we master the technology of artificial intelligence. Yet many of our moral intuitions and practices are based on assumptions about human nature that need not hold for digital minds. This points to the need for moral reflection as we approach the era of advanced machine intelligence. This chapter focuses on one set of issues, which arise from the prospect of digital minds with superhumanly strong claims to resources and influence. These could arise from the vast collective benefits that mass-produced digital minds could derive from relatively small amounts of resources. Alternatively, they could arise from individual digital minds with superhuman moral status or ability to benefit from resources. Such beings could contribute immense value to the world, and failing to respect their interests could produce a moral catastrophe, while a naive way of respecting them could be disastrous for humanity. A sensible approach requires reforms of our moral norms and institutions along with advance planning regarding what kinds of digital minds we bring into existence.

Résumé :
Moral values are the basis for the functioning of every society. The criteria of good and bad, as essential elements of moral consciousness, are built through the life and experience of many generations as shared values for the whole society. In states that qualify as free, democratic, and legal, which do not recognize state religion and have a plurality of religious and ideological values, particular emphasis is placed on the need for a rationally based morality. To perceive people's beliefs about good and bad in society represents a challenge. This challenge is especially intriguing for a society like ours, which has undergone serious changes in the political, economic, and cultural segments. The subjective feeling that something is happening with the moral value system in our country has been around for a long time. Unfortunately, subjective feeling is that moral values barely exist. Practically, the main purpose of this paper is precisely to examine the moral values of individuals by applying appropriate methodological procedures and to understand the moral attitudes of a group of persons. Also, in this paper the questions of what morality is and what the moral values of a society depend on will be elaborated. To achieve the purpose of this research, the historical and sociological methods will be applied, as well as the survey and the method of content analysis. Keywords: morality, moral attitudes, moral values.

Résumé :
ABSTRACT The general goal of family and educational environment is to prepare the rising generation for public practice by gaining social experience and building a moral culture of behavior. Although they are different, both institutions are responsible for the upbringing of children. Part of the extracurricular work in physical education and sport are also sports activities organized and conducted by sports clubs in a certain type of sport. The article conducts a study on the impact of training and sports competition activities on the formation of morally responsible behavior in adolescent football players. Certain indicators are derived from each criterion being analyzed in order to determine the moral status of the contestants. The methods of pedagogical research discourse, inquiry, and expert evaluation, applied to two age groups (total respondents – 280 competitors, 22 coaches, 18 referees, and 4 football delegates) during the football championship 7 of the 2021/22 sports competition year in Stara Zagora region. The opinion of the coaches and delegates, the actions of the referees regarding disciplinary control, the behavior of the players before the start, during, and after the end of football matches, numbering 300, have been examined. The statistical methods for processing empirical data for the purpose of analyzing and presenting the results of the study are variational, cor-relational, comparative, and descriptive analyses, Van der Waerden test, and processing of textual information from matches played. The results obtained found positive and statistically analyzed changes in the behavior of the contestants according to the criteria and indicators studied and prove the formative impact of active sports activity on the moral culture of the personality. The inquiry analysis carried out by place of residence shows that the research effect on the behavior of contestants has greater values for those living in larger cities.

Résumé :
There is no doubt that the world today is more interested than ever in the discourse of human rights that sheds light on the covenants and legal charters that govern this domain. Besides that, women are the pivotal pillar of the society; consequently, they are the primary concern in the human rights discourse of different generations. Subsequently, their personal, cultural, political, financial and social rights are recognized; furthermore, their rights are strengthened by official charters . Despite the fact that no one can deny the positive aspects of the human rights discourse related to the role and the status of women in society by spreading human rights awareness and building a strong relationship between men and women based on human considerations; nevertheless, real life is another world, it is paradoxical, declarations and covenants advocate for women’s rights, at the same time women suffer from violence, disrespect, and discrimination. In the era of rights, cultural openness, technological revolution and economic development, women are threatened more than ever by other ways of violence that directly target the natural instinct and the moral values by spreading abnormalities such as homosexuality and gender reassignment. These acts can also be seen in official discourses and adopted by official organizations and governments profiting from the lack of the moral discourse that should be undertaken by the monotheistic religions especially the Islam. Moreover, the human rights discourse accuses the religious discourse of violating women’s rights and raises a number of suspicions around it. This leads us to question the credibility and the effectiveness of the human rights discourse? And to look for the alternatives that the Islamic discourse can offer in order to remove all the suspicions raised around it. These are questions that I try to answer through this article by elucidating the essence of the Islamic discourse that works for spreading values and also to reply on the suspicions that have been raised about the status of women in the Islam. I decided to follow these steps: Introduction: defining the problem and determining the outlines. First: Instinct is a guide to family values and drawing up the relationship between men and women. Second: Polygamy. Third: Guardianship and Alimony responsibility for the family. Fourth: Guardianship in the Islamic marriage contract. Fifth: Females decrease in religion and mind. Sixth: The male has the equal of the portion of two females. Conclusion.

Résumé :
The rise of the Internet and big data has realized the digitization of the cultural industry, accelerated the promotion of cultural and literary works on the Internet, and expanded its scope of influence. At the same time, its development has also aggravated the long-standing moral issues in the cultural industry, such as privacy leakage, data theft, copyright infringement, etc., which seriously hinder the healthy development of the cultural industry. Based on the Internet, multi-node composition and decentralization, the blockchain, as a distributed ledger system, has the characteristics of “decentralization”, equal node status, de-third-party trust, and difficult data tampering and forgery. Its application will bring great value in cultural industry management. At the same time, as a new type of technical structure combination, the application of blockchain in the field of cultural industry is not achieved overnight, and there are certain technical obstacles in itself, and the relevant regulations have not yet been constructed, which need to be studied and solved urgently. Based on the dilemma of the network cultural products dissemination protection, this paper introduces the blockchain certificate technology, hoping to realize the new trend of the protection of network cultural products dissemination by building an excellent blockchain network cultural product protection model, technical approach, regulatory system and rule system.

Résumé :
The article presents an analysis of the historical and contemporary context of girls’ plays with dolls and doll-houses. The anthropological materials about children's plays with dolls and doll-houses help to recreate the doll context as a cultural represent of evolutional development. The archaic functions of the doll used in rituals and traditional ceremonies objectivize the historically inherent cultural status of the doll. In traditional cultures, through dolls plays children who play with their peers and older children, receive relevant information about their natural and social environment, social relationships, symbols, values and ideals of adults’ world. Dolls plays enhance mastering ethical and the moral values handed down from generation to generation. Another aspect of the analysis is connected with the traditional “school” of play replacement of an object. It is illustrated by the material about manufacturing and use of a ‘simple’ doll in many traditional world cultures. Dolls plays reflect socially significant images and senses of idealized adult life. The development of the sign world of dolls is closely connected with the interpretation of the doll image as a sign of humans taken in their social and cultural context.

Résumé :
Islam did not limit the status and role of women in society. On the contrary ، it preserved her status and dignity in the Islamic society. And he hears her complaint about her husband to our Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in Surat Al-Mujadalah: ((Allah indeed knows the plea of her who pleads with you about her husband and complains to Allah ، and Allah knows the contentions of both of you; surely Allah is Hearing, Seeing)). Our history is replete with the names of many women who influenced various social, political, scientific and even military fields, and the figures are multiple and unbroken in Islamic history. Texte intégral
Résumé :
The article considers relativism as a philosophical principle and the moral standpoint of a journalist. In particular, the main argumentation of Roberto de Mattei’s work «Dictatorship of Relativism» is analyzed. Like Ratzinger, the Italian publicist describes modern life as ruled by a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as definitive and whose ultimate goal consists solely of satisfying «the desires of one’s own ego». In his view, the boundaries of the main conflict of modernity lie between two visions of the world: one that believes in the existence of immutable, absolute values, and one that argues that there is nothing stable, that everything is conditional, time-dependent and can be discussed in the media. The markers of this conflict are our attitude to the famous statement of Protagoras about «man as a measure of all things: of the things that are, that they are, of the things that are not, that they are not», as well as to the non-debatable values, the status of natural and positive law, the worldview neutrality, the dehierarchization and multiplicity of truths, the equalization of all worldviews and axiological standpoint in foreign and Ukrainian media. A special attention in the article is paid to the ideological program of media-relativism, as well as to the postmodern and post-communist contexts of the issue of the penetration of relativism into the journalistic values.

Résumé :
In the article, advertising communication is explored in the context of socio-political, socio-economic, and cultural-legal processes in Eastern Galicia (1919–1939); The ideological and educational concept of advertising materials is outlined, and the features of shaping Ukrainian civic-state consciousness, national and universal moral-spiritual values, interethnic mutual respect, and tolerance under the influence of press advertising are characterized. In the four chapters of the monograph, a comprehensive study of the essence of Ukrainian press advertising communication in Eastern Galicia is conducted for the first time in the field of journalism science. Iryna Nironovych introduced documents and unpublished materials from eight Ukrainian and Polish archival funds into scientific circulation that are directly related to the development of advertising in Western Ukrainian press. The monograph characterizes the national dominant of press advertising discourse in the conditions of Ukrainian nation’s statelessness. After analyzing advertising in 23 newspapers and magazines, the author of the monograph revealed the specific features of creating information-rich, morally ethical advertising content based on Ukrainian ethnonational principles within the territory of the Polish state. The author also justified the necessity of advertising communication as a means of promoting social solidarity and shaping high moral and spiritual values, as well as humanistic worldview and national beliefs among advertisers and consumers. The monograph characterizes not only the content of information about products and services (verbal and non-verbal parameters) but also the mental traits that, in the conditions of the Polish state, contributed to the promotion of Ukrainian moral and spiritual values. Advertising serves a complex of functions that are essential for meeting the economic, social, cultural, and moral-spiritual needs of the human community. In the conditions of the Second Polish Republic, the situation of Ukrainians motivated advertisers to seek a special socio-psychological, educational, regulatory, and ideological approach to creating advertising. The article emphasizes that advertising announcements with elements of national-patriotic coloring encompassed two components – informational and ideological. Advertising for Ukrainian books on historical topics, magazines, and public organizations carried an enlightening and educational, as well as an emotionally informative character. Press advertising communication in the fields of industrial and agricultural production, trade, household services, and cultural and artistic life served as an emotionally rational factor in strengthening the information-psychological structure of the Ukrainian national community.

Résumé :
What motivates property owners to pay taxes in places where state enforcement is weak? Using an online experiment among property owners in Lagos, Nigeria, we evaluate the extent to which different appeals increase respondents’ tax morale, their willingness to pay taxes if there is no enforcement, and attitudes about government enforcement of tax collection. Respondents were randomly assigned to read either a vignette emphasising the role of property tax revenue in contributing to economic growth and increased property values, or one highlighting that tax revenue is used for public goods and services benefiting all residents. The growth message made respondents significantly more favourable towards enforcement of tax collection, but there was no difference in willingness to pay between the two treatment conditions. We also look at heterogeneity across class identification and attitudes toward redistribution, and find that support for a more equal society reduces the advantage of the growth appeal.

The author characterized the Ukrainian national values, national interests and national goals. It is emphasized that national values are conceptual, ideological bases, consolidating factors, important life guidelines on the way to effective protection of Ukraine from Russian aggression and building a democratic, united Ukrainian state. Author analyzes the functioning of the mass media in the context of educational propaganda of individual, social and state values, the dominant core of which are patriotism, human rights and freedoms, social justice, material and spiritual wealth of Ukrainians, natural resources, morality, peace, religiosity, benevolence, national security, constitutional order. These key national values are a strong moral and civic core, a life-giving element, a self-affirming synergy, which on the basis of homogeneity binds the current Ukrainian society with the ancestors and their centuries-old material and spiritual heritage. Attention is focused on the fact that the current problem of building the Ukrainian state and protecting it from the brutal Moscow invaders is directly dependent on the awareness of all citizens of the essence of national values, national interests, national goals and filling them with the meaning of life, charitable socio-political life. It is emphasized that the missionary vocation of journalists to orient readers and listeners to the meaningful choice of basic national values, on the basis of which Ukrainian citizens, regardless of nationality together they will overcome the external Moscow and internal aggression of the pro-Russian fifth column, achieve peace, return the Ukrainian territories seized by the Kremlin imperialists and, in agreement will build Ukrainian Ukraine.
