Résumé :
The article is devoted to the notion of discourse and discursive space and revealing the specifics of e-sports discursive space. The article touches upon some problems of research of the discourse and discursive space in Anglo-American, French, German and Russian linguistic conceptions. The notion of e-sports discursive space is introduced for the first time in the linguistic analysis and is characterized as a hybrid dimension incorporating interplay e-sport discourse, mass media discourse, sport medical discourse and internet-discourse. E-sports discursive space may be exposed as a field structure the kernel link of which appears e-sports interplay discourse, uniting game patches and some commands and orders uttered by the cyber-sportsman in the process of the game. It is compressed, well-packed by terminological nominations and directive speech acts, comprising instructions and recommendations on using the avatars. It nominates the user name as an avatar, its game characteristics (forces, power, dexterity etc) and innovations in the system of a game. The other mentioned types of discourses lay on a periphery of the discursive field. Mass-media discourse advances the e-sports discursive space in the field of media translation giving it liveliness, fancy, imagination, expressiveness and evaluative characteristics opposite to some dryness and laconism of interplay e-sports discourse. Sport-medical discourse concerns and discusses physical, psychological and emotional states of e-sportsmen. Internet discourse is realized in the form of chats, blogs an vlogs of e-sportsmen arguing about qualities of sportsmen, advantages and disadvantages of avatars ans strategies of the game. The uniting link of all the discourses included into the single whole e-sports discursive space proves to be the criterion of integrity that is expressed through the unity of the topic, semantics, structure, time and space and event and situation continuum. A special place and significance in the e-sports discursive space is taken by a discursive personality. E-sports discursive personality is realized in e-sports discursive space heterogeneously: on the first level - as a text personality of the avatar and on the second level - as a language personality of the real e-sportsman avatar carrier. The values underlying the e-sports discursive space correspond to sport discourse values getting a victory and with personal discourse orientation getting maximum success in self-development in the field of physical and mental health, psychological robustness, reaction speed, logical strategies etc. E-sport discursive space may be represented as also a cognitive one where an important place is taken by e-sport terminology.

In the study, we tried to point out, on the basis of comparison conclusions of several research works, how much the psycho-physiological aspects contribute to influencing the conception of sport preparation in terms of the philosophical context of preparation in traditional martial arts. We elucidated the perception of the difference between martial arts and combat sports and emphasized the psychological dimension of training in sports karate in relation to physical training. At the same time, we were looking for relationships that would give us an answer as to which of these aspects are more effective in terms of sports performance. In conclusion, on the basis of a comprehensive content analysis of the findings, we draw attention to the fact that only the mutual correlation of both selected aspects can achieve the desired results in the training of karate practitioners.

Résumé :
The Ethical Duality in Sports: Social and Psychological Aspects of Transgender ParticipationHistorically the notion about the understanding of women has been patriarchal in nature. The postmodern world has an inclination to redefine social mores. The prevailing thought in the 20th and 21st centuries supports the same thesis. The transformation of attitudes appears to be a regular phenomenon in the understanding of the issue at hand, thereby enlivening the motif of unity between the two. Gender, transgender, sexuality, etc., are in a state of transformation, so that to interpret and reinterpret a state of understanding and re-understanding of the issue of participation in sports has multiple significations. Sport in the 21st century constructs inimitable challenges for trans-athletes. A broad spectrum of identities is included under the umbrella of transgender identity. Transsexual or transitioned athletes may pose the greatest challenge to equity in sex-segregated sport competition. The subject under deliberation has a large number of interpretations, all of which center on a need to ‘deconstruct’ the present structuration of acceptance of sex and gender terminology. There is certainly a need to think and contemplate in broader terms about the meanings that assess the well-defined boundaries between disciplines of research. The present thesis highlights a deconstructive stance.

Visually impaired students and non-visually impaired students can excel in sports activities and appreciate themselves in the surrounding environment. This research will reveal the sports achievement profile of visually impaired students and their psychological impact. Survey research was conducted at SLB Negeri A Citeureup, Cimahi. Survey research used a qualitative research strategy. It used open-ended questions through interviews with 6 participants consisting of the principal, physical education teacher, class teacher, and three visually impaired students. The data collection used purposive sampling and applied Nvivo 12 Plus for Windows to analyze the data. The study results indicated that visually impaired students who excel in sports activities such as swimming and athletics positively impact themselves, especially psychologically. The leading indicators of the psychological elements are confidence, motivation and emotional stability. Still, it needs cooperation between school officials and parents to support psychological peace, especially self-confidence, inspiration, and emotional stability of visually impaired students to get a good life in their environment.

Résumé :
This study investigated the perceptions of certified athletic trainers concerning their attitudes, beliefs, and application of a variety of psychological strategies and techniques used in the treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The Athletic Training and Sport Psychology Questionnaire (ATSPQ) was adapted from instruments developed by Wiese, Weiss, and Yukelson (1991) and Brewer, Van Raalte, and Linder (1991). The ATSPQ, a letter of introduction, and a self-addressed stamped envelope were distributed to 1,000 certified athletic trainers randomly selected from the membership database maintained by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). Only 482 (48.2%) of these questionnaires returned were usable. 47% of athletic trainers who responded believe that every injured athlete suffers psychological trauma. 24% reported that they have referred an athlete for counseling for situations related to their injury, and 25% reported that they have a sport psychologist as a member of their sports medicine team. This study concludes that future education of athletic trainers should address the psychological aspects of injury treatment as well as the development of a sport psychology referral network.

Résumé :
<div>The aim of this study was to assess occurrence of sports injuries among professional male soccer players in relation to their psychological characteristics. This prospective cohort study was conducted during the 2013/2014 sports season among all professional players with the first team contract in the first Croatian soccer league. A stratified sample of 182 male soccer players were selected for the assessment. They were surveyed during their preparation period before the beginning of the season and were under monitoring during the season. Seriousness of injuries was assessed depending on the length (one day or more) of players’ non-participation in sports activities. Psychological characteristics were assessed by the General Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), Revised Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, impulsive behaviour scale from the Zuckerman-Kuhlman Personality Questionnaire Cross-Cultural 50-item version and Psychological Skills Inventory for Sports. Majority of players (62.6%) experienced a kind of injury, with the mean number of 1.28 injuries per player, and 30.7% of them contracted severe injuries. Results of the binary regression model suggest that likelihood of being injured is mostly influenced by higher Impulsive Sensation Seeking and GAD-7 scores (OR=1.26 in both cases). In contrast, adequate mental preparation significantly lowers the chance of being injured (OR=0.89).The study adds an insight into proportions, severity, mechanisms and number of sport injuries in the population of Croatian professional soccer players. We propose several variables as important predictors of future injuries. Some scales, commonly used in this field, have been shown to be less useful in injury prediction.</div>

Résumé :
IntroductionCommitment to sports is especially important for well-being in people with disabilities (Malm et al., 2019), although mental health problems are common among Paralympic athletes (Hunt et al., 2019). Importance of representations of and regulation in sport situations was supported for different kind of sports (Moran, 1993, Suinn R., 1982, Hardy et al., 1996) but Paralympic ones.ObjectivesThe aim was to reveal aspects of psychological regulation important for achievement and longer commitment to Paralympic sports comparing to non-Paralympic sports.Methods51 athletes from Paralympic sports (49.1% candidates and masters of sports) filled Questionnaire of Image Representations of Professional Activity of Athletes (Leonov et al., 2020) measuring general importance and self-appraisals of different aspects of image representation and regulation in sport activities: control of temporal, spatial, informational, technical and tactical, energetic aspects, game intelligence, motivational, emotional and social aspects (Cronbach’s alphas .61-.89). Data were compared to 399 athletes without disabilities (48.4% candidates and masters of sports).ResultsComparing to athletes without disabilities, Paralympic athletes higher appraise general importance and their capacities for emotion regulation during sport situation (t=2.26-3.35, p<.01). High-level Paralympic atheletes report marginally better emotion regulation (t=1.74, p<.10). Longer experience in sport in Paralympic athletes is associated with better representations of spatial and social aspects of sport situations and better emotion regulation (r=.25-.29, p<.05).ConclusionsData suggest that improvement of emotion regulation in sport situation in Paralympic athletes could be helpful for longer participation and better achievement. We present the results of a theoretical analysis of the psychological bases of success of athletes. We provide an overview of studies of the factors influencing the success of the activities in the sport. Sports activities are considered as a joint activity of athlete and coach, the success of which is affected by the personal qualities and characteristics of the relationship of its members. We summarize the main approaches to the study of personality and social psychological aspects of successful athletes and coaches. As the main factors in the success of sports activities, we considered individual psychological characteristics of athletes (motives, attitudes, modes of behavior and response), and socio-psychological characteristics of the interaction of coach and athlete (leadership style, the nature of interpersonal relationships and role expectations). We emphasize the importance of mutual role expectations of athlete and coach to achieve high results of sports activity.

Résumé :
We consider some aspects of time experience in sports activity. The relevance of this study is determined by the increase in the level of time experience among the entire population, which together with the time experiences that occurs in sports, is a problem for the athletes preparation from a psychological and pedagogical point of view. The data described in the work are obtained as a result of analysis and generalization of special literature, pedagogical observation of athletes, analysis of TV broadcasts of competitions in different sports. The study was conducted in 2017–2018 on the basis of the Belgorod National Research University, Armavir State Pedagogical University. We established that the problem of time experiencing in sports is actually still little studied and mainly concerns the issues of psychological athletes’ preparation for responsible sports competitions. The study reveal the types of sports time experience depending on the focus on the object and the causes of the experience, the levels of tension of time experience in sports activities, as well as some factors that determine the characteristics of the experience of time by athletes in training and during sports competitions. When considering these issues, it was taken into account that the time experience has life-like features that can become the background for specific experiences of time arising in the training and competitive activities of athletes. These studies develop ideas about the time experience in sports, which has both theoretical and practical application. Prospects of research in this direction are extensive, they may overlap with the problems of sociology, pedagogy, psychology, philosophy of sports and some other areas of knowledge. In particular, a certain interest is, for example, the study of gender features of the time experience in sports, changes in the age dynamics of the time experience by athletes, typological characteristics of the time experience in sports.

Résumé :
This paper seeks to review the literature and address ethical implications of organized contact sports, such as American football and boxing, with significant child or adolescent participation. Child and adolescent sport participation act not only as a leisure activity, but also improves physical health and enhances psychological and social health outcomes. However, playing sports may also have negative physiological effects, such as sports-related concussions (SRCs) - a form of traumatic brain injury (TBI) - which are an emerging public health concern. This paper review and explores ethical implications of contact sports in the scientific literature and demonstrates challenged faced on philosophical deliberation on the ethical implications of SRCs and RHIs due to complexities of these conditions and their identification and treatment involving a wide variety of practical situations, which formal sports rules may not adequately address. Since scholarly literature has yet to arrive at a consensus concerning causal link(s) between contact sports participation and significant concussion-related brain damage, the paper argues in favor of strengthening concussion preventive measures, identification protocols and management procedures in contact sports. This article rejects ethical paternalism on the basis of inconclusive empirical evidence concerning associations between contact sports participation and heightened SRC risk. It also rejects Mill’s argumentation against consensualism and suggests prevention is a better solution over inadequately founded philosophical ethical proposals favoring drastically reforming contact sports.

Résumé :
Objectives The purpose of this qualitative study was to confirm the effects of the absence of sport psychologists in sport clubs from the perspective of the coaches. Furthermore, to investigate the effects of this absence on athlete performance, as well as the reasons for eliminating this specialty at sport clubs. Methods The researcher used a descriptive approach with an inductive method to identify the participants' visions and interpretations. Thematic Analysis, a qualitative data analysis method in descriptive research (Braun & Clarke, 2006), were used to analyze data in this study. NVivo coding, a computer software package for analyzing qualitative data, was used by the researcher to analyze all of the interview texts.. Results Once the data collection is complete, all interviews were thematically identified and categorized into four themes. The following topics were identified as themes: 1) The professional system at sports clubs, 2) The economic component, 3) The prevalent social culture, and 4) The lack of application of governance principles in sports federations and clubs. These were the most prominent themes that emerged from coaches' visions and interpretations based on their experiences in sports clubs. Conclusions Due to a lack of psychological preparation in pre and post-sport competitions, there is a gap in the training process. This results in a decline in both physical and psychological aspects in athletes, as well as the possibility of psychological distress. A lack of psychological preparation may also be an impediment for sports clubs.

Résumé :
A multidimensional scaling analysis was used to investigate the psychological structure underlying college students’ perceptions of 12 practitioners: sport psychologist, clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, coach, psychiatrist, counselor, performance consultant, nutritionist, sports medicine specialist, strength coach, hypnotist, and technical equipment advisor. For this analysis, 200 male and female undergraduates completed 66 scales rating the psychological similarity between all possible pairs of the 12 practitioners. The R2 of .84 and stress value of .17 indicated that a two-dimensional solution was the best fit for the similarity ratings. The first dimension was identified as separating practitioners specializing in the mental aspects of performance from those specializing in the physical aspects of performance. The second dimension separated sport practitioners from nonsport practitioners. Interestingly, subjects perceived sport psychologists as being concerned with mental, nonsport issues. The results are discussed in terms of the relationships among the various practitioners.

This analysis identifies three periods of development in sports psychology: the period of data collection (1949-1970); the period of formation (1970-1990); and the period of development (since 1991). The social aspect of the development of sports psychology in China is related to the activities of the Psychological Society (CPS), which was established by the International Union of Psychological Sciences in 1980, bringing Chinese psychology back to the world stage and the formation of the Chinese Association of Social Psychology (CASP). Emphasis is placed on the social direction of sports psychology development in China and the need to further improve the competence of Chinese sports psychology practitioners in training in psychology and psychological counselling, as well as for better psychological support for Chinese athletes. The use of sports psychology in competitive sports in China is for diagnosis, monitoring, training, all of which contribute to the effective solution of athletes’ psychological problems, improves their ability to make psychological adaptations, and lays the foundation for excellent sports results. Psychological counselling includes various aspects of athletes’ mental training, including stimulating motivation, maintaining confidence, controlling emotions, avoiding difficulties, attention and concentration, overcoming accidents during training and performances, setting competition goals, adaptability, desire and team cohesion. Chinese sports psychologists have developed research into practice of participants in three directions: the psychology of competition, the psychology of exercise and the psychology of physical education.

Résumé :
Abstract Drug abuse among athletes is a current and very important issue, both ethically and in terms of health risks. In addition to the drugs prescribed for the treatment of some diseases, athletes can also use substances that artificially increase their performance, such as: stimulants, anabolics, opioids, erythropoietin, diuretics as well as substances used to mask the prohibited substances. The aim of this study is to review the data from the literature about the use of various drugs by athletes, for therapeutic purposes, or to increase sports performance. Methods: We identified several studies using the on-line databases, and the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Searches were limited to full-text English-language journal articles published between 2003 and 2014. Results: After the primary analyses we selected a total of 30 relevant studies on this topic. Even if there is progress in detecting prohibited substances that increase sports performance, doping prevalence persists in sport. Conclusion: In order to prevent and disrupt drug abuse, appropriate measures should be taken by physicians and coaches, such as warning about the risks of doping, appropriate training, appropriate nutrition and an appropriate psychological approach.

Résumé :
The analysis of scientific and methodological literature revealed very few works on the neurophysiology and development of physical qualities in kickboxers. Papers of recent years focus on high-level athletes. However, the structural-functional and neurophysiological features of kickboxers’ sports activities in the process of perfecting their skills remain insufficiently studied. For kickboxers, the key physical abilities playing an important role in fulfilling sports potential and achieving high results include strength, speedstrength, technical-tactical, and psychological abilities, as well as endurance. In scientific literature, the psychophysiological status of a combat athlete is determined based on the methods evaluating sensorimotor reactions of different modalities and complexity. As kickboxers reach higher levels in their sport, we observe optimization and economization of structural and functional adaptation mechanisms in the nervous, neuromuscular, and sensorimotor systems. Studies on neurophysiological adaptive changes in response to physical loads in combat athletes (including kickboxers) reflect multidirectional results. For instance, it has been established that the activity of the sympathetic nervous system in combat athletes increases at normotonia during the competitive, while at sympathicotonia, during the preparatory period. Other studies demonstrate that this group of athletes has optimal adaptive reserves and higher adaptive capacity of the heart compared to representatives of other sports. A personalized training process with specialization in kickboxing should be organized taking into account athletes’ individual neurophysiological profiles in order to choose the means, methods and level of the training and competitive loads to achieve the goals set.

Résumé :
Injuries contrast with the overwhelmingly positive benefits of sports participation for female athletes, with estimates of a third or more of all female athletes sustaining injury in any given season. Media headlines convey the impression that female athletes are more vulnerable to sports injuries than male athletes are. This observation led to our first purpose, which was to use evidence from the sports injury surveillance literature to examine the facts about female athlete risks of injury and compare these risks to those of male athletes. In light of Gill and Kamphoff’s (2010) observation that we largely ignore or underrepresent female experiences in the sport and exercise psychology literature, our second purpose was to highlight examples of the psychological, behavioral, and social aspects of female athletes’ injury experiences, and provide comparisons to male experiences within this realm of sports medicine psychology. These evidence-based observations guide our concluding recommendations for injury reporting, prevention, and rehabilitation roles of those in the media and sports professions.

Résumé :
Football is one of the most popular sports in the world. As the popularity of football continues to grow worldwide, so does the number of incidents of violence on the pitch. Today, doping, match fixing, black whistles, and football hooliganism are ranked as the four most toxic aspects of sport. How to study the factors that cause aggressive behaviour of fans from a psychological perspective has become a key issue in the field of sports. Therefore, this study proposes a method for mining the psychological factors of sport fan community members based on machine learning clustering. Firstly, three different members of a large fan community, i.e., university students, office workers, and unemployed people, are used as research subjects to investigate the psychological factors influencing fans’ aggressive behaviour using a questionnaire method. Secondly, the data obtained were mined and analysed using the K-means clustering algorithm in machine learning techniques. At the same time, a K-means initial clustering centre optimization algorithm based on principal component analysis (PCA) was proposed for the data characteristics of the interaction of psychological factors. The results show that the new algorithm significantly improves the quality of clustering compared with other optimization algorithms and accurately identifies the multiple factors that contribute to the occurrence of fan attacks.

Résumé :
The general development of the sports world has guided researchers in sports science to study excellence in sports performance, namely, the study of the characteristics and requirements specific to each sport. However, in order to meet these requirements, each individual must have a set of specific characteristics similar to those of the group to which he/she belongs. The variables in the study are related to the psychomotor abilities and psychological aspects that could influence the overall performance of junior III handball players. The main work instruments are related to field testing and psychological characteristics measurement. For psychomotor abilities, we used means such as the TReactionCo software (eye–hand coordination), Just Jump platform (dynamic balance), Tractronix system (general dynamic coordination), and Illinois test (spatial-temporal orientation), and for the psychological characteristics, we used the Motivational Persistence Questionnaire. In addition, the result of the study is represented by new software that we created in order to better observe the level of development of these characteristics in junior handball players. From a statistical point of view, we calculated the correlations between psychomotor abilities and psychological characteristics using ANOVA in order to see field position differences and performed linear regression for the variables of this study.

Résumé :
This article, via discussing various psychological manifestations among Chinese elite athletes, illustrates sociocultural “meridians” in Chinese elite sports including (a) “Whole-Nation system,” (b) Chinese culture, and (c) their interaction. We propose that the sociocultural characteristics be integrated in athletes’ psychological training and further discuss the aspects of (a) cultural inheritance and (b) traditional beliefs, including “harmony with differences,” “doing the best and following the fate,” “Ah Q spirit,” “all are Buddha,” and the balance between Confucianism and Taoism. We suggest that the ultimate goal of sport psychologists is to facilitate the athlete’s overall development, with such a maturing process only achieved by integrating the above factors into athletes’ sociocultural contexts.

Résumé :
Psychological troubles in training competitions mainly include worry about mistakes, long-term lack of improvement in sports performance, and lack of confidence in competitions. The main troubles in daily study and life are future career development and life planning, injury and illness, insomnia, and poor emotional control. Athletes are interested in psychological skills training, hobby training, interpersonal communication and other coaching content to improve sports performance. Athletes tend to prefer one-to-one psychological counseling and group counseling activities; there are differences in the psychological distress, coping styles and expected psychological counseling content of athletes in different age groups and events. This paper firstly introduces the important role of psychological quality education in modern competitive sports. The influencing factors of athletes’ psychological quality were analyzed. At the same time, combined with relevant practical experience, it starts from various perspectives and aspects such as improving the scientific literacy of coaches and building a harmonious atmosphere for training and competition. This paper puts forward some effective strategies to strengthen athletes’ psychological quality education and improve sports performance. In addition, it expounds the author’s understanding of this, hoping to contribute to the practice of athletes’ psychological quality education.

Increasing concern has been expressed about the possible detrimental effects of competitive youth sports upon aspects of psychological development, especially concerning aggression, anxiety, and poor self-concept. This study examined the self-concepts of 208 participants and nonparticipants in third and sixth grade youth team spores from urban, middle, and lower middle-class backgrounds. A three-factor (participation × grade × sex) analysis of variance applied to self-concept data yielded a significant main effect with participants higher in self-concept than nonparticipants. Significant interactions indicated that differences were not uniform. Perhaps at different ages (grades) participation and nonparticipation in youth team sports may provide different social reinforcement for boys and girls.

Résumé :
In the context of physical activity and sport, perfectionism and the regular practice of physical activity are related to psychological well-being and the regulation of psychological resources necessary for adaptation to effort and satisfaction. At the same time, the most active students are also those who show greater appetites for physical education classes. The goal of this work was to identify the influence of perfectionist beliefs and the regularity of the practice of physical exercise on psychological well-being. The participants were adolescents (n = 436) aged between 14 and 19 years (M = 16.80, SD = .77). They were administered the Multidimensional Perfection Scale, the Psychological Wellbeing Scale, the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQv2), and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The results showed, under a non-random and transversal design, that the participants gave important value to physical exercise because they feel both active and vigorous. Regarding perfectionism, the functional aspects of perfectionism (expectations of achievement and organization) correlated positively, while the dysfunctional aspects (fear of committing errors and external expectations) did so negatively with the importance given to physical exercise performed by adolescents; this in turn positively predicted psychological well-being. In this way, the hypothesized model contemplated the relevance of the included variables and reflected the mediation of the degree of importance given to the practice of physical exercise on perfectionist beliefs and psychological well-being. Currently, most physical activity practice proposals for adolescents focus on federated and structured environments for competition, and those that deal with recreational and health-oriented sports are far less common. Hence, "the perfect way of doing sports" for a teenager should be accompanied by cognitive schemes aimed at strengthening psychological resources that allow the regulation of beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors.

Résumé :
The urgency of the problem is determined by the danger of drug addiction among Ukrainian adolescents, the lack of attention paid by parents to the study of this problem, and the lack of proper attention to this issue in most Ukrainian schools. Research in this area is driven by the need to identify the main social and psychological aspects that motivate adolescents to use drugs, in order to create conditions in society that prevent the spread of drugs among the youngest populations. Aim of the work is to determine the dominant psychological and social factors that motivate adolescents to start using drugs. Material and Methods. Analytical and logical research methods, systematic and comparative analysis were used to comprehensively consider and describe the factors that motivate adolescents to use drugs, despite the danger to their health and life. Results and Discussions. A high degree of risk of adolescent drug addiction has been established, which is accompanied by a significant decrease in the average age of adolescents taking drugs for the first time. The issues of social and psychological aspects of adolescent drug addiction, problems of relations in society and families, where adolescents start using drugs are considered. The types of family relations and the nature of intra-family relations, in which adolescent drug use begins, were studied. The main social and psychological factors that push modern youth to take drugs have been identified. Conclusions. Adolescent drug addiction in Ukraine remains a serious problem that requires proper attention and assessment by modern society. Effective measures to combat the dangerous phenomenon are: introduction of a system of preventive talks to explain the nature of drug addiction and the dangerous consequences of drug use for life and health; joining student youth to sports and a healthy lifestyle by reviving the system of intra-school, district, regional competitions in various sports; transformation of adolescents' consciousness towards their own development as opposed to the prospect of their drug degradation. Abstract The aim of the article is to conduct a literature review in relation to the psychological aspects of diving. The acquired knowledge can currently be qualified as belonging to various branches of applied psychology, as well as underwater medicine, sports medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy. The literature on this subject matter raises two main issues of the psychological perspective: the degree of psychological adaptation of an individual to the underwater environment, and the psychophysical condition of a man involved in a specific type of diving and the resulting skills/competences to perform underwater tasks. The article presents selected reports from around the world related to diving psychology resulting from the applied structure/classification of psychological theories, explaining various mechanisms of psychological functioning underwater. The paper presents studies from the perspective of psychodynamics, psychology of health/stress, psychology of individual differences and personality. The main conclusions indicate that in addition to the main problem of an optimal/lack of adaptation of humans to the underwater environment, there is insufficient psychological knowledge (including Polish reports) in the area of personality differences between various types of divers, their social functioning, mental health and psychoeducation with regard to underwater exposures.

Résumé :
Sport is still understood as a traditional bastion of masculinity that exalts physical qualities such as strength and speed, and psychological traits such as aggression and perseverance, deeming women’s participation undesirable and unnecessary. Nevertheless, women for decades, in strict separation from men or within so-called “women’s sports”, were achieving results worthy of the attention of even the fiercest sceptics. Because of its nature founded in physicality, sport is still relatively seldom the area of political struggle for gender equality, although female athletes have occasionally done more for positive outcomes of that struggle than is acknowledged. In this paper, I discuss the ambivalent nature of sport contributing, on the one hand, to the essentialisation of genders in their differences and the petrification of power relations between them, and containing, on the other, indications of destruction or at least of corruption of the traditional, hierarchically established gender norms. The paper consists of four parts. In the first introductory part, I explain the reasons for concentrating my discussion on formalised competitive sports and approaches I am using. While emphasising the biopolitical aspects of the subject, I start my analysis with the description of a proclaimed guiding principles of contemporary sports contained in the spirit of Olympism. In the second part, I discuss the ontology of sport contained in the ideas of the founder of the modern Olympic Games Baron Pierre de Coubertin and the consequential factors influencing women ‘s participation in sports. These range from the perception of women’s allegedly debilitating physical and psychological traits, through hypersexualisation of female athletes’ body, or the attitude that it is not feminine enough, to the accusations that female athletes harm their health jeopardising, for example, the basic feminine duty – that of motherhood. In the third part, I put de Coubertin’s arguments in the contemporary context emphasising the relevance the concept of hegemonic masculinity has on the contemporary understanding of masculinity and the role of sport in maintaining it. In the last, fourth part, I discuss emancipatory aspects of sports, concluding on their ability to disrupt both essentialised femininity and essentialised masculinity.

Abstract Most athletes are subject to intense mental and physical pressure not only during competition but also during practice. An important variable which may influence athletes′ performance is coaching behavior. The aim of the present study is to investigate if coaching behavior and its antecedents differentiate athletes according to their gender, type of sport, competition experience and weekly practice-time. The sample consisted of 367 male and female athletes who participated in both individual and team sports. They completed the Greek version of the “Coaching Behavior Questionnaire” (CBQ). Results indicated that coaching behavior differentiated athletes of individual sports, and athletes of team sports and experienced women with experienced men. Furthermore, coaches’ behavior contributed to the differentiation on athletes who practice more than those who practice less. In conclusion, these results could help athletes, coaches and sport professionals become more familiar with psychological aspects that influence athletes′ behavior.

Résumé :
The problem of sports psychological fatigue has become one of the focal points of common concern among scholars at home and abroad. Athletes will face many problems and challenges in competition or training, and if they are not handled properly, they will have negative experiences, which will affect the training benefits and develop psychological fatigue. Transcranial electrical stimulation (TES), which contains transcranial direct current stimulation, transcranial alternating current stimulation, and transcranial random noise stimulation, is a noninvasive brain stimulation method. By applying specific patterns of low-intensity electrical currents to specific brain regions through electrodes of different sizes, it modulates cortical neural activity and/or excitability and enhances the connections between the brain and nerves and muscles to achieve improved motor performance. TES technology is currently making the transition from laboratory research to applied research in sports science. In this paper, we first describe the neural mechanisms of TES action on the cerebral cortex, including five aspects of body balance, endurance performance, exercise fatigue, muscle strength, and motor learning ability; then, we review the relevant studies on the application of TES in functional connectivity of brain networks and explore the importance of this field for TES to improve athletic performance. This research provides a machine learning-based and transcranial electrical stimulation model for the locomotor psychological fatigue problem in rock climbers since rock climbing is a sport that places great demands on athletes’ psychological quality. The research on the factors influencing the psychological fatigue of climbers and the intervention measures is beneficial to the early diagnosis and the prevention and intervention of it.
