Résumé :
Software quality is a multidimensional concept. Single attribute can’t define the overall quality of the software. Software developer aims to develop software that possesses maximum software quality which depends upon various software quality attributes such as understand ability, flexibility, reusability, effectiveness, extendibility, functionality, and many more. All these software quality attributes are linked with each other and conflicting in nature. Further, these quality attributes depend upon the design properties of the software. During the designing phase of software, developers must optimize the design properties to develop good software quality. To obtain the appropriate value optimization is done. This paper implemented two multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (NSGA-2 and MOEA/D) to optimize software design properties to enhance software quality. While comparing NSGA-2 algorithm with original values it is found that there is a 1.73% improvement in the software quality on the other hand MOEA/D shows a 3.58% improvement in the software quality.

Résumé :
Finding techniques to reduce software developmental effort and produce highly reliable software is an extremely vital goal for software developers. One method that has proven quite useful is the application of software metrics-based classification models. Classification models can be constructed to identify faulty components in a software system with high accuracy. Significant research has been dedicated towards developing methods for improving the quality of software metrics-based classification models. It has been shown in several studies that the accuracy of these models improves when irrelevant attributes are identified and eliminated from the training data set. This study presents a rough set theory approach, based on classical set theory, for identifying and eliminating irrelevant attributes from a training data set. Rough set theory is used to find small groups of attributes, determined by the relationships that exist between the objects in a data set, with comparable discernibility as larger sets of attributes. This allows for the development of simpler classification models that are easy for analyst to understand and explain to others. We built case-based reasoning models in order to evaluate their classification performance on the smaller subsets of attributes selected using rough set theory. The empirical studies demonstrated that by applying a rough set approach to find small subsets of attributes we can build case-based reasoning models with an accuracy comparable to, and in some cases better than, a case-based reasoning model built with a complete set of attributes.

Résumé :
Software trustworthiness is an important research field in software engineering. In order to appropriately evaluate it, some different measurement approaches have been proposed, which have important guiding significance for improving software trustworthiness. Recently, we have investigated attributes-based approaches. That is, how to maximize trustworthy degree of some software satisfying a given threshold by adjusting every attribute value such that the cost is minimal, i.e., the sum of all attribute values is as small as possible. The work is helpful to improve the software quality under the same cost. This paper continues this work and considers a reallocation approach to dealing with the problem that the threshold and the minimal constraints of every attribute values dynamically increase. In this process, the costs of trustworthiness improvement should be ensured to be minimal. For this purpose, we firstly define a reallocation model by mathematical programming. Then we introduce the notion of growth function. Based on this, a polynomial reallocation algorithm is designed to solve the above reallocation model. Finally, we verify our work on spacecraft softwares and the results show that this work is valid.

Résumé :
Purpose The “quality” of any product or service defines the agility of the product and its life cycle in dynamic environment. The demand of high “quality” becomes an imperative concern, when “software” is acting as a product or a service. Since the nature of the software is intangible and more complex, therefore the assurance of providing accurate results is anxiety for companies. The overall quality of the software is based upon many individual factors (or attributes) that makes software reliable, inclined and a long-lasting product in the marketplace. But how these factors can influence each other is significant to identify. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to study the quality aspect of the software and analyse the interrelationship of impactful attributes. Design/methodology/approach The analysis has been done through responses sought from software development teams/clients in India. The questionnaire related to the software quality was administered to the sample population. Interconnection among impactful characteristics has been analysed by using a qualitative technique called interpretive structural modelling (ISM). The driving and dependency of the attributes under consideration has been classified using cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to classification (MICMAC) analysis. The procedure of applying ISM method has been automated and provided it as package “ISM” using R software. Findings In general, it is very complex job to determine the most impactful attribute of software quality. By applying ISM and MICMAC analysis on the set of attributes under consideration, it has been found that “reliability” along with “usability” and “performance” is the most influential attribute of software quality and preferred most. Research limitations/implications Though ISM provides an organized modelling framework yet its results are considered less statistically significant. Therefore, it would be interesting to concatenate the present findings with the findings of any analytical methodology; which gives statistically significant results. Practical implications The present proposal deals with the interpretation of the software quality attributes and their contextual relationship but with more effective and efficient manner. It can help management to understand the complexity of relationship amongst attributes (which are quality attributes here) more accurately and precisely. Since today is an era of automation, the manual part is being substituted so as to reduce the labour cost, improve safety, security and product quality to increase production. This study is, therefore, an effort and a helping hand in making the hassle free calculations for obtaining intermediate matrices and doing eventual calculations. Social implications n numbers of parameters can be selected to analyse the interrelationship of any project/study. Eradication human errors in applying transitivity law or applying any other operation in solving problem. The package created here can save precious time of users. Provides well-formatted and readable excel output files that make interpretation easier. Originality/value Software is one such product/service which plays a significant role in this high-technological world, where each and every firm try their best to be on the top of the list of consumers’ preference. For this purpose, companies reduce manual efforts by converting it into qualitative software that provides deliverables in a systematic manner. Therefore, it becomes imperative to study various interrelated quality attributes of the software. On the similar platform, ISM is a widely used technique and just to provide a helping hand in quantification of the qualitative attributes this paper facilitates the readers with algorithm developed using R software.

Résumé :
In software projects, many points that are overlooked such as time constraints and human factors are causing great problems in the future. By measuring the quality of software projects, problems that may arise in important parameters such as maintenance-repair, functionality and reliability can be eliminated. In this study, metrics that can be used for measuring maintainability quality attribute within the scope of ISO 9126 Quality Standard are examined. In order to perform the study, 40 open source object-oriented software was selected and code complexity analysis was performed. Values of metric sets such as Chidamber and Kemerer (CK), Lorenz and Kidd (LK) and McCabe's complex Suite were determined by the Understand Code Analysis tool. It was determined whether the obtained values exceeded the threshold values indicated in the literature. Frequencies of metrics passing threshold values were determined for 40 open source object-oriented software projects, and the consistency among the metrics was evaluated using WEKA Machine Learning Software and EXCEL Data Analysis Tool. When the results were evaluated, it was observed that in addition to CK metrics such as WMC, CBO, and RFC, which measure the maintainability quality attribute, NOC (CK), NIM (LK), and the ratio of comment/code metrics have been observed to yield significant measurement results.

Résumé :
Software architects cannot avoid the consideration of quality attributes when designing software architecture. Architectural styles such as Layers and Client-Server are often used by architects to describe the overall structure and behavior of software. Although an architectural style affects the achievement of quality attributes, these quality attributes are directly performed by design decisions called architectural tactics. While the implementation of an architectural tactic supports a specific quality attribute, it often enhances or hurts other quality attributes in the software. In this paper, a framework for selecting the most appropriate architectural tactics according to their best achievement of the required levels of quality attributes when developing transaction processing systems is proposed. The proposed framework is based on fuzzy measures using Choquet Integral approach and takes into account the impact of architectural tactics on quality attributes, the preferences of quality attributes and the interactions between them. It can also be used to compare different potential architectures in terms of their supporting of quality attributes. The abilities and the advantages of the proposed framework are clarified via practical experiments using a case study.

Résumé :
The Software quality management system has been developed. The system allows you to determine the state of software quality at each hierarchical level of the management system, taking into account the cost of ensuring the required quality. The system also allows the IT company manager to set the potential costs for the transition of software quality indicators from one state to another. It was found out that software quality is a multifaceted concept that can be adequately expressed by some hierarchical structure of characteristics and attributes, which is called the model of software product quality. To assess the quality of the software, a set of criteria and aggregate indicators were used, which maximally characterise it in terms of functionality and usage options. It is established that the software quality model is the main attribute of the complex system of its assessment. The quality model determines which characteristics of the software product must be taken into account when transiting the control system from one state to another. The level of software quality that meets the stated and indirect needs of various stakeholders and is relevant to them is directly reflected in the quality model of the software product in the form of its properties. The software quality model classifies product properties into characteristics and sub-characteristics. A method for selecting stressful variants of software quality state according to input criteria or aggregate indicators of its current quality has been developed. The method allows to determine the current state of software quality at each hierarchical level according to the corresponding aggregate indicator, taking into account its development cost. A method for selecting the optimal version of the software quality management system from the set of permissible has been developed. The method takes into account the structure of criteria and aggregated indicators of current software quality at each hierarchical level of the management system. It is established that the task of choosing the optimal version of the software quality management system belongs to the tasks of multicriteria optimization. The task takes into account the following criteria: portability of the product and its ease of maintenance, product safety and compatibility, ease of use of the product and reliability of its work, as well as the functional suitability of the product and its efficiency of use. An example of implementation of the software quality management system in both quantitative and cost ratio is given. The example allows us to understand the essence of the method of choosing the optimal variant for the management system, as well as the features of the method of selection of stressful variants of the system state according to two criteria or aggregate indicators.

Résumé :
Seismic attribute computation is one of the most active research and engineering topics in the computational geophysics world. Although numerous algorithms for seismic attribute computation have been developed, relatively little work has been done on scientifically characterizing their quality and accuracy. Seismic attribute characterization effort is largely qualitative and subjective. We have developed a robust and reliable scientific process for functionally comparing similar attributes. Structural seismic attributes are addressed, including discontinuity, dip angle, dip azimuth, and curvature. To establish a common software platform, and collection of data sets for efficient fully automatic evaluation, a stand-alone flexible online web service is designed. It is based on a C#-MATLAB implementation, and it is called A3Mark. The publicly available web service enables the automatic evaluation of individual categories of seismic attributes using customized quality metrics. It can be easily extended to include new algorithms. Several new synthetic data sets covering various structural measurements are also created, including noise, with ground truth, and they are made publicly available through the web service. Finally, a comparative evaluation of some current seismic attribute algorithms is given with quantitative and qualitative results.

In this paper, we propose a mathematical programming approach to allocate the trustworthy degree to each sub-attribute of some software attribute appropriately and then to make the trustworthy degree of this attribute maximize under some constraint conditions. Some sufficient or necessary conditions for analyzing this mathematical programming problem are investigated. Moreover, a polynomial allocation algorithm is given for computing the optimal solution of this mathematical programming. Finally, an example is given in order to show the significance of this work. To improve and guarantee the quality of software, it is very necessary to effectively predicting modules with defects in the software. There are usually more measure attributes in software quality prediction, which often leads to the curse of dimension. To do this, a new algorithm based on ISOMAP was presented to predict software defect, which combined manifold learning algorithms and classification methods. In the model, the high dimensional software metrics attribute data were firstly mapped into the low dimensional space through ISOMAP. Then the low dimensional features were classified with KNN, SVM and NB. Experiments demonstrate that the new model progresses the prediction precision of software defects as well as great improves the efficiency of the algorithm.

Résumé :
To sustain the qualities of a software system during evolution, and to adapt the quality attributes as the requirements evolve, it is necessary to have a clear software architecture that is understood by all developers and to which all changes to the system adheres. This software architecture can be created beforehand, but must also be updated as the domain of the software, and hence the requirements on the software system evolve. Creating a software architecture for a system or part of a system so that the architecture fulfils the desired quality requirements is often hard. In this paper we propose a decision-support method to aid in the understanding of different architecture candidates for a software system. We propose a method that is adaptable with respect to both the set of potential architecture candidates and quality attributes relevant for the system's domain to help in this task. The method creates a support framework, using a multi-criteria decision method, supporting comparison of different software architecture candidates for a specific software quality attribute and vice versa, and then uses this support framework to reach a consensus on the benefits and liabilities of the different software architecture candidates and to increase the confidence in the resulting architecture decision.

Résumé :
Software metrics which are language-dependent are proposed as quantitative measures to assess internal quality factors for both method and class levels like cohesion and complexity. The external quality factors like reliability and maintainability are in general predicted using different metrics of internal attributes. Literature review shows a lack of software metrics which are proposed for reliability measurement and prediction. In this context, a suite of four semantic language-independent metrics was proposed by Mili et al. (2014) to assess program redundancy using Shannon entropy measure. The main objective of these metrics is to monitor program reliability. Despite their important purpose, they are manually computed and only theoretically validated. Therefore, this paper aims to assess the redundancy metrics and empirically validate them as significant reliability indicators. As software reliability is an external attribute that cannot be directly evaluated, we employ other measurable quality factors that represent direct reflections of this attribute. Among these factors, defect density is widely used to measure and predict software reliability based on software metrics. Therefore, a linear regression technique is used to show the usefulness of these metrics as significant indicators of software defect density. A quantitative model is then proposed to predict software defect density based on redundancy metrics in order to monitor software reliability.

To study the problem of multiple attribute decision making in which the decision making information values are triangular fuzzy number, a relative entropy decision making method for software quality evaluation is proposed. Then, according to the concept of the relative entropy, the relative closeness degree is defined to determine the ranking order of all alternatives by calculating the relative entropy to both the fuzzy positive-ideal solution (FPIS) and fuzzy negative-ideal solution (FNIS) simultaneously. At last, a numerical example for software quality evaluation is provided to illustrate the proposed method. The result shows the approach is simple, effective and easy to calculate.

The value of knowledge inferred from information databases is critically dependent on the quality of data. The identification of noisy attributes which can easily corrupt and curtail valuable knowledge and information from a dataset can be very helpful to analysts. We present a novel detection method to identify noisy attributes in datasets of software metrics using multi-resolution transformations based on Discrete Wavelet Transforms. The proposed method has been applied to supervised datasets of scientific full-scale data from NASA's Software Metric Data Program (MDP) and to a military command, control, and communications system (CCCS). Empirical results have been favorably compared to those obtained from the robust Pairwise Attribute Noise Detection Algorithm (PANDA) using the same MDP datasets and with mixed results for the CCCS data. All results were verified with several case studies that included injecting known simulated noise into specific attributes with no class noise.

Résumé :
Abstract Various uncertain influencing factors and incomprehensible mechanisms have posed daunting challenges to the management and treatment of regional surface water environment quality. The unified measures and the “one-size-fits-all” management approach limit the treatment effectiveness. Therefore, considering natural and human activities which are major factors affecting the surface water environment quality, the present study proposed a set of zoning management and control schemes for nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in surface water based on its natural attributes. Selecting DEM, rainfall, vegetation type, soil type, and land use, and employing “grid transformation”, “data extraction”, “attribute superposition” of GIS software and “correlation analysis”, “cluster analysis”, and “principal component analysis” of SPSS software, the Haihe River Basin was divided into the prevention zone, the control zone, and the non-control zone with different natural attribute sets by the correlation coefficient R2 and the nitrogen and phosphorus pollution therein. Based on the nitrogen and phosphorus data of 276 surface water quality monitoring sites, the multiple nonlinear stepwise regression analysis was conducted to construct the relationship between a single water quality indicator and its natural attributes in the three zones. The results are of essential practical significance to surface water environment quality zoning management and survey in the Haihe River Basin. Meanwhile, it provides innovative insights into environmental zoning management in other regions.

The process of calculating the value of cohesion on the design of object-oriented software using Similarity-Based Class Cohesion metrics can be done by identifying the relationship between the three types of possible interaction between those methods, method-attribute, and interaction attribute-attribute. But the existence of such measurements theory is rarely used in the software development industry. This is due to there is no threshold value that is used as the limit of good or bad design. This study aims to determine the threshold of cohesion metric based on the class diagram. The result showed that the threshold of SCC metric is 0.45. 0.45 is the value that has the highest level of agreement with the design expert

Résumé :
This study aims to find the important attributes of local and imported apple. A consumer survey was conducted in Java Island representated by four big cities: Malang, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Bandung. Three categories of purchasing place at each city are supermarket, fruit stall and traditional market. Accidental sampling was done to choose the samples of consumer. The total respondents interviewed was 240 consumers consisting of 120 for each attribute. The data of apple attributes and purchasing place were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis supported by SPSS software. The result suggests that the important quality attributes of local and imported apples are grouped in each two latent factors namely quality and cultivar. Meanwhile, purchasing place is grouped in one latent factor. All quality attributes of local and imported apples have positive correlation with the apple quality, but there is a different fi nding in which apple flavor of local and imported apples are not the most important attribute that ranked fi rst based on consumer assessment. The factor of apple cultivar always associates with the apple size, both on local and imported apples. Rome Beauty (local apple) and Fuji (imported apple) have greater average size than other cultivars. Thus, these attributes are already attached one another. The factor of purchasing place becomes an important part which accompanies the apple’s quality attributes and is considered by consumers in purchasing apple.

Résumé :
Software testing is used to find bugs in the software to provide a quality product to the end users. Test suites are used to detect failures in software but it may be redundant and it takes a lot of time for the execution of software. In this article, an enormous number of test cases are created using combinatorial test design algorithms. Attribute reduction is an important preprocessing task in data mining. Attributes are selected by removing all weak and irrelevant attributes to reduce complexity in data mining. After preprocessing, it is not necessary to test the software with every combination of test cases, since the test cases are large and redundant, the healthier test cases are identified using a data mining techniques algorithm. This is healthier and the final test suite will identify the defects in the software, it will provide better coverage analysis and reduces execution time on the software.

Résumé :
Multimedia authoring is the process of assembling various types of media content such as audio, video, text, images, and animation into a multimedia presentation using tools. Multimedia Authoring Tool is a useful tool that helps authors to create multimedia presentations. Multimedia presentations are very widely used in various fields, such as broadcast digital information delivery, digital visual communication in smart cars, and others. The Multimedia Authoring tool attributes are the factors that determine the quality of a multimedia authoring tool. A multimedia authoring tool needs to have several attributes so that these tools can be used properly. The purpose of this literature review study is to find the advantages of the multimedia authoring tool attribute in each of the existing studies to produce knowledge on how to create a good quality multimedia authoring tool. These attributes are Editing, Services, Performance, and the Formal Verification Model. Editing attribute is an attribute for interfacing with the author. Followed by Service attribute and performance attribute to check and achieve proper multimedia documents. Since 1998, a multimedia modeling tool has been studied, and up to now, there have been many studies that have focused on one or more of these attributes. This article discusses the existing studies to examine the attributes generated from the studies. Multimedia authoring attributes are very important to study because they are the benchmarks of the software requirement specifications of Multimedia Authoring tools. The use of the Petri net model, the Hoare Logic, and the Simple Interactive Multimedia Model as a formal verification model can improve the performance of the Multimedia Authoring Tool. In the questionnaire that was submitted to the users, it was assessed positively by the users with the improvements in the Multimedia Authoring Tool.

Résumé :
High software reliability is an important attribute of high-assurance systems. Software quality models yield timely predictions of quality indicators on a module-by-module basis, enabling one to focus on finding faults early in development. This paper introduces the Classification And Regression Trees (CART) a algorithm to practitioners in high-assurance systems engineering. This paper presents practical lessons learned on building classification trees for software quality modeling, including an innovative way to control the balance between misclassification rates. A case study of a very large telecommunications system used CART to build software quality models. The models predicted whether or not modules would have faults discovered by customers, based on various sets of software product and process metrics as independent variables. We found that a model based on two software product metrics had comparable accuracy to a model based on forty product and process metrics.

Résumé :
The Blockchain (BC) design pattern has many variations and is a concept that is anticipated to lead many implementations in the years to come. The number of choices for a BC implementation continues to increase since new design and implementation patterns and applications are emerging. This increasing number of design patterns enables correspondingly increasing tradeoff opportunities at every evolutionary round of architecture elaboration. Key components of a BC include network nodes, blocks, and consensus methodologies. These components all possess critical characteristics that can be designed and implemented in a variety of different ways. A central thesis here is that the choice of the design methodologies has direct and varying impact with regard to resulting quality attributes such as performance, security, and availability. We describe the use of a tradeoff matrix during the initial design phase of a development cycle that identifies the quality attributes to be evaluated when designing software systems comprising a BC. We hypothesize that consideration of the quality attributes at this initial design stage via the use of the proposed tradeoff matrix enables designers to meet requirements more efficiently and accurately. This hypothesis is tested and the use of the tradeoff matrix is demonstrated by creating a consensus algorithm whose performance is evaluated through a simulation that compares the behaviour in a “bare-metal” versus a Cloud-based environment. This simulation approach drives the usage of one of the quality tradeoff parameters in achieving a more optimal solution.

Résumé :
Maintainability is one of the most important quality attribute that affect the quality of software. There are four factors that affect the maintainability of software which are: analyzability, changeability, stability, and testability. Open source software (OSS) developed by collaborative work done by volunteers through around the world with different management styles. Open source code is updated and modified all the time from the first release. Therefore, there is a need to measure the quality and specifically the maintainability of such code. This paper discusses the maintainability for the three domains of the open source software. The domains are: education, business and game. Moreover, to observe the most effective metrics that directly affects the maintainability of software. Analysis of the results demonstrates that OSS in the education domain is the most maintainable code and cl_stat (number of executable statements) metric has the highest degree of influence on the calculation of maintenance in all three domains.

Résumé :
The basis of the specification for software development is the requirements profile, which takes into account functionality, features, limitations, risks, etc. of future software. The requirements profile is a product of the profiling process and is a taxonomic structure that links together many of the requirements for the software being developed. An indivisible unit of the requirements profile is a separate software requirement. Formally, the software requirement is a set of related requirements, but it is a more complex object, the quality of the software as a whole depends on its quality. The implementation of insufficient quality requirements in software entails resource losses. Existing works related to this issue do not fully propose the presentation of the quality model of a particular requirement. The purpose of this article is to develop a quality model of an individual software requirement. The object of research is the software requirement. The article is devoted to the development of a quality model of an individual software requirement. The idea of developing the designated model came about after analyzing the following standards: ISO / IEC / IEEE 29148: 2011 (E), ISO / IEC / IEEE 29148: 2018 (E) and ISO / IEC 25012: 2008. The provisions that are presented in the designated standards and formed the basis of this article. It considers the requirement as a separate, unrelated element of the software requirements profile. The requirement is represented in the form of elements of facet-hierarchical structures and consists of a semantic classification attribute and a semantic taxon. A five-component model of the quality of an individual software requirement is proposed, it includes structure, properties, attributes, syntax, and semantics requirements. The combination of such elements in one model allows us to formally describe the quality of an individual software requirement. As a result, this article proposes a formal description and presentation of the quality model of an individual software requirement.

Résumé :
In a broad spectrum, software metrics play a vital role in attribute assessment, which successively moves software projects. The metrics measure gives many crucial facets of the system, enhancing the system quality of software developed. Moreover, maintenance is the correction process that works out in the software system once the software is initially made. The noteworthy characteristic of any software is ‘change,’ and as a result, additional concern ought to be taken in developing software. So, the software is expected to be modified effortlessly (maintainable). Predicting software maintainability is still challenging, and accurate prediction models with low error rates are required. Since there are so many modern programming languages on the horizon. To accurately measure software maintainability, new techniques have to been introduced. This paper proposes a maintainability index (MI) by considering various software metrics by which the error gets minimized. It also intends to adopt a renowned optimization algorithm, namely Firefly (FF), for the optimum result. The proposed Base Model-FF is compared to other traditional models like BM-Differential Evolution (BM-DE), BM-Artificial Bee Colony (BM-ABC), BM-Particle Swarm Optimization (BM-PSO), and BM-Genetic Algorithm (BM- GA) in terms of performance metrics like Differential ratio, correlation coefficient, and Random Mean Square Error (RMSE).

Résumé :
The decision to release a software product will become an even more complex and important decision. A decision has strategic value when it has the potential for large prospective financial losses to a software manufacturer or its customers or end-users. A software release decision is a tradeoff between early release to capture the benefits of an earlier market introduction and the deferral of product release to the reliability. If a software product is released too early, the software manufacturer incurs post-release costs of later fixing failures. If a software product is released too late, the additional development cost and the opportunity cost of missing a market window could be substantial. These two attribute reliability and cost need to be combined to determine the optimal release time of software. This paper proposes a new practical method for determining when to stop software testing considering reliability and cost as two factors simultaneously. The proposed new decision model is based on three different weighted combination of utility function in Multi-attribute utility theory.

Résumé :
AbstractThe embedded systems domain has grown exponentially over the past years. The industry is forced by the market to rapidly improve and release new products to beat the competition. Frenetic development rhythms thus shape this domain and give rise to several new challenges for software design and development. One of them is dealing with trade-offs between run-time and design-time quality attributes. To study practices, processes and tools concerning the management of run-time and design-time quality attributes as well as the trade-offs among them from the perspective of embedded systems software engineers. An exploratory case study with two qualitative data collection steps, namely interviews and a focus group, involving six different companies from the embedded systems domain with a total of twenty participants. The interviewed subjects showed a preference for run-time over design-time qualities. Trade-offs between design-time and run-time qualities are very common, but they are often implicit, due to the lack of adequate monitoring tools and practices. Practitioners prefer to deal with trade-offs in the most lightweight way possible, by applying ad-hoc practices, thus avoiding any overhead incurred. Finally, practitioners have elaborated on how they envision the ideal tool support for dealing with trade-offs. Although it is notoriously difficult to deal with trade-offs, constantly monitoring the quality attributes of interest with automated tools is key in making explicit and prudent trade-offs and mitigating the risk of incurring technical debt.
