Résumé :
Introduction. The dynamics of Russian sociology research are analyzed for the period of 1993—2020. Methods. The sources of information for the study were three databases on the Web of Science platform: SSCI, SCI-E, and A&HCI. The main method of research was bibliometric analysis. Results and Discussion. The percentage of publications in sociology among the social sciences in the world as a whole has gradually declined over the 28-year period: from 4.7 % in 1993 to 2.3 % in 2020. The decline in the same indicator for Russian publications began only in 2008. It should be noted that this indicator is significantly higher than that for the world as a whole: the average percentage of publications in sociology for the entire period for the world was 3.2 %, for Russia — 16.4 %. The percentage of the world's Open Access publications in sociology is lower than that for the social sciences as a whole, but the growth rate is very high: 1.7 % in 1993 and 34.1 % in 2020. In the case of Russian sociology publications, the Open Access system has only become relatively active in 2013. In 2020, the total percentage of such publications was 7.9 %. Two approaches were used to define the thematic range of sociology research and the level of sociology's connection to other scientific fields. One is based on identifying publications that are common to two of the scientific fields under study, the other involves on identifying publications that were simultaneously cited in different scientific fields. Application of these approaches demonstrated that the second approach, as compared with the first, allowed to reveal much more extensive thematic connections of sociology with other scientific directions. At the same time, the application of rank correlation methods showed that the results obtained using these two different approaches are characterized by a sufficient degree of consistency. Conclusion. The data obtained on the percentage of publications in sociology in national and world science can be used by various state and public structures in the development of scientific policy in the field of social sciences. Data on sociology's connections with other disciplines and their quantitative characteristics can serve as background material for subsequent qualitative (substantive) analysis of these connections.

Résumé :
This publication is the first Russian translation of Max Weber’s keynote address at the First Conference of the German Sociological Association (DGS) held at the Academy of Social and Commercial Sciences in Frankfurt, Germany, from October 19–22, 1910. At the first session on the morning of October 20, he delivered the business report of the German Sociological Association that had been founded in Berlin the year before. Weber was given the floor as a chairman of the auditing board immediately after the opening speech The Pathways and Objectives of Sociology by the Association’s president, Ferdinand Tönnies. In the conference transcript, Weber’s presentation is referred to as the DGS “Business Report”, though it is essentially the classic’s attempt to delineate a framework research program for the then-institutionalizing German sociology. At the outset, Weber talks about the principles of the Association’s activity as exemplified in its charter. First of all, he refers to the imperative of value neutrality, a central tenet to all Weberian sociology implying a purely scientific focus, i.e., free from political, ethical and other evaluations of scholarly interest in the subject. Additionally, he emphasizes the pragmatic nature of the DGS, since it is not a purely status-based association of academic “nobility”. In the main part of the paper, Weber discusses the specific clusters of topics that the Association has chosen to study as its priorities, including the sociology of the media, the sociology of unions and public associations, and the sociology of key professions in modern society. The scholar concludes by speaking about the DGS financial situation, and its general dependence on promoting a culture of scholarly sponsorship patterned after the American model.

Résumé :
The nineteenth-century founders of sociology were in no doubt that sociology is a predictive discipline. This was a key component of its constitution as a science, in contrast to religious mythology and metaphysics. Comte's formula ‘Savoir pour prévoir et prévoir pour pouvoir’ neatly captures the mood and mission of the sociological enterprise at its foundation. As the twentieth century closes, prediction has become almost a taboo word, connoting an embarrassing affiliation to vulgar positivism, scientism and technocracy. This article argues that many of our current fears about prediction are exaggerated or misplaced. If sociology is to regain its standing in the public domain we need to reclaim prediction as a core element in the sociological project.

Résumé :
Abstract: Sociology of literature is widely used in Indonesian literary criticism since its introduction in 1978 by Sapardi Djoko Damono. However, there is a doubt in recent Indonesian literary criticism to accept feminist literary criticism in some way as part of sociology of literature whilst it is already that feminism deals with social construct and patriarchy practice in society. This article aims to show that sociology of literature in the form of feminist sociology and feminist literary criticism are not contradictory as one claims. This is a systematic literature review. The method of collecting data is extensive close reading on sociology of literature, feminist sociology, and feminist literary criticism. Based on the extensive close reading, there are at least five models can be used in feminist sociologal approach: through reading agenda, using anachronistic reading, on the marketing strategy and endorsement, on the situation of the readers’ activity, and based on writer’s situation and consciousness. This article shows that feminist sociological approach in literature and feminist literary criticism are not in conflict as the two come from feminism.

Résumé :
This paper is a simple account of my teaching experience1, the aim of which is to answer the question: “How can we successfully teach interactionism, labeling theory, grounded theory and other sociological bases related to qualitative methods with the active participation of students?”. Through the examples of sociologists working in the Chicago Tradition, French sociologists working with Pierre Bourdieu, and other examples from American sociology, I show that sociological work is group activity. It is argued in this paper, that to make sociological thinking understandable to students teachers may do well to contextualize key theorists in their narrative/biographical context. The students learn, that sociologists are not magicians or genius individuals who produce attractive theories. Rather, they work in collaboration with other humans to generate knowledge. Moreoever, I demonstrate that sociologists’ contributions are often strongly related to and influenced by their broader life context.

Recent theoretical and methodological advances in urban sociology, including spatially located data, provide new opportunities to consider the joint influence of mobility and place in urban social life. This review defines the concept of activity space, describes its origins in urban sociology, and examines the extent to which activity space approaches advance sociological research in four substantive domains—spatial inequality and segregation, social connectedness and engagement, crime and offending patterns, and health and health-related behavior. It next describes the evolution of methods for location tracking and new approaches that hold promise for maximizing urban mobility and activity space contributions. It then discusses how location data may be augmented to enhance our sociological understanding of the structure, meaning, and implications of the places people visit or traverse in daily life. We close with new directions for activity space research, emphasizing how such work could enable comparative contextual research.

Résumé :
In a Recent Critical review of sociological perspectives on historical problems, Skocpol observed, “Until the 1970s, ‘historical sociology’ was not a phrase one often, if ever, heard in conversations among sociologists in the United States” (Skocpol, 1984: 356). Of course there was a good deal of prior historical work by sociologists, some of which Skocpol herself goes on to cite. Yet, by her phrasing, she has inadvertently raised a question about the place of history in the discipline of sociology. Like almost all sociologists who use historical materials or perspectives, Skocpol sees reason to complain about the failure of sociology to give a larger place to history. But for me, a prior issue, in the spirit of a historically minded sociology, involves discovering what happened to the name “historical sociology.” The naming of an activity, in this case historical sociology, and its performance—historical research and interpretations by sociologists—are quite distinct. The first task is to clarify their relationship.

There is no doubt that the specificity of the country political context of the early 1950s contributed to the delay of the Polish medical sociology development. In 1951 as a result of the political decision, practicing sociology as an official scientific discipline, was prohibited. Its resurgence came after 1956. The growing domestic and international position of the Polish sociology enabled to initiate not only the activity of the general sociology but also the activity of its subdisciplines, including the medical sociology. The process of institutionalization of medical sociology in Poland has started since the beginning of 1960s. Its founder was a prominent medical sociologist Magdalena Sokolowska. Taking into account the existence of the strong connections of the Polish medical sociology both with medicine and the general sociology we can speak about its double identity. That feature of it decided about its specificity in European countries. Magdalena Sokolowska named it "intellectual hybrid". According to the author’s position, modern society and its social determinants have qualitatively new features, which allows identifying the information and digital, electronic and digital, and information and network format of modern civilization characterized by digitalization, networking, mobility, and complexity. The digitalization of the society generated and enriched scientific sociological issues with new terminology. The terms “cybersociology”, “sociology of the Internet”, “sociology of online communities”, and “sociology of cyberculture” appeared. The subject field was supplemented with new interdisciplinary areas such as digital practices, sociological analysis of digital data and digital media, and critical and public digital sociology. Global networking expands the horizons of research in digital sociology, providing sociologists with truly big data that can be studied and interpreted to monitor social communications.

Résumé :
The article analyzes the relevance, factors and prospects of the transformation of modern sociological science. It is noted that digital technologies significantly change the fundamental foundations of social interaction, most everyday social practices, structures and conflicts. This poses a number of serious challenges to sociology as a science. It is emphasized that it is time to think deeply not only about the problem of transformation of what sociology studies, but also about the transformation of sociology itself as a specific intellectual practice. Attention is focused on the need for sociological analysis and interpretation of large-scale and long-term social processes, changes in the traditional way of sociology's participation in the formation of state social policy and the implementation of social reforms. Endogenous factors hindering the leadership of sociological science in the modern public intellectual discourse are identified, namely: fragmentation of sociology, its division into a huge number of directions, particular, local thematizations; lack of research attention of sociologists to the fundamental problems of social life; modern sociology does not form an agenda for public intellectual discourse and scientific research, does not define the problematic field of research and interpretation both at the microsocial level and at the level of societal and global phenomena; it is not socially engaged, does not engage in dialogic interaction with various groups of the public, does not help them to realize their values, interests and problems, to fight for their solution; sociologists do not show activity in related research areas (for example, such as social communications, public relations, advertising, marketing, political consulting, conflict studies), do not use for this a rich arsenal of sociological theoretical concepts, quantitative and qualitative methods; despite the mediatization of social life, sociology is not sufficiently media-based, it is extremely weakly present in the media space. A conclusion is formulated about the need to transform sociological thinking and sociological imagination, the need for serious changes in the educational programs of professional training of students, in particular their practical component, the search for new formats of professional communication.

How can teachers help students understand the importance of gender pronouns for transgender and gender-nonconforming people? This article presents a gender pronoun reversal activity that simulates the experience of being verbally misgendered. Students followed up on the activity by posting reflections on an online class discussion board. The activity promoted empathy among cisgender students for transgender people and reflexivity regarding the social boundaries of gender identity. Empathy and reflexivity were common responses among students enrolled in Sociology of Diversity and Sociology of Gender at a large research university in the northeast. We present the activity, including preparation and follow-up along with an analysis of student responses.

Résumé :
The interest in sociology of the contemporary urbanists and architects, that has come like a new wave, had its heralds. One of them is Leonid Kogan - an urbanist, sociologist and a teacher whose students are scattered around the world. The article continues the topic, that was started at the author’s previous digest “The Contemporary World’s Architecture” comprised the consideration of common views of M. Castells and V. Glazychev to the new structures’ organization of the societal life activity and an increase in the activity of local communities in response to the fall in social significance of places. The works of the three mentioned authors are united, first of all, by the caring of the ordinary citizens’ lives. Their keen civil responsibility and anxiety on the uncontrolled globalization led them out of professional architecture field and made them urbanists, sociologists and politicians, set them at the origins of the new attitude to the city and citizens.

Every sociology rests on representations that are not explicitly thematised, and are in concordance with an atmosphere and cultural formations. These representations correspond to what Panofsky called a mental habit. which is transferable from one field of activity or thought to another. The essay shows how both the themes of individuality and of Bildung play back on G. Simmel's conception and place of the "social" and, consequently, on his sociological view.

Résumé :
The article presents a review of the activities of the scientific school of sociologists of the Urals in the direction of "sociology of youth". The authors note the historical dynamics in the development of youth sociology, its gradual embodiment in the organizational and scientific structure in the form of scientific conferences and Ural sociological readings. The Ural sociological school paid special attention to the problems of youth – the research of this group began in 1973, and ten years later the problem of sociology of youth became one of the most important links of scientific activity of the Ural sociologists. By the end of the 20th century, the problem of the study of youth has become large-scale, began to study a variety of aspects of its activity, and the Committee on Youth Affairs and the Ural Institute of Youth were established in Ekaterinburg. The concept of youth itself is not unambiguous, leading sociologists of the Urals – Yu.R. Vishnevsky, V.T. Shapko point out a number of difficulties in the interpretation of this concept associated with the problems of the integrity of the generation, its systemic quality and diversity of properties of people of this social group. In this regard, various approaches to the study of youth were developed, which allowed to identify their specific features. In this article, the authors dwell upon such aspects of the study of youth sociology as values and value orientations, their relationship to the economic and socio-cultural situation in the country. Dynamics of values of the Ural youth over the period from 1999 to 2016 is monitored. The researchers discuss the phenomenon of the working student, study how the dynamics of full-time student involvement in child labour, its motivational attitudes, communication of work produced with the major obtained in the University, and the problems caused by the combining of these two activities. The study undertaken analyzes the state of modern higher education in its interpretation by leading sociologists of the Ural scientific school. The attention is focused on the school of G.E. Zborovsky, who devoted his science activity to the problems of education, especially higher education in Russia, highlighting a number of problems that allowed to conclude about the lack of a successful system of higher education in Russia.

In France, sociology constitutes a particular case of a contrast between the destiny of the mass of graduates and the very small number of those who are called to exercize the profession, understood as being a member of the world of teaching and research. This article presents the results of an investigation on the academic courses, the conditions of integration and the professional outcomes of a cohort of sociology graduates. The study focuses also on the construction and expression of the professional identity of sociologists. This identity is captured by the distinction between a «professional» definition, wich depends extensively on the professional activity actually exercized and integration in the academic world, and a «cultural» definition, to which many graduates subscribe and which is based on having acquired some specific knowledge and a particular manner of seeing the world.

Résumé :
Objective: to determine the possibility of professional legal activity automation and to identify the limitations that in a democratic society are associated with the use of software capable of generating effective legal solutions in conflict situations. Methods: the conducted empirical research is based on the methodology of social sciences, sociology of law, principles of communicative and communicational theories of law, and formal-legal analysis of legal documents. Results: the paper presents examples of functioning of computer systems that imitate some specific aspects of human intelligence in decision-making. The concept of algorithm and the main characteristics of tasks performed by artificial intelligence systems are defined. The relevance, methods and achievements of sociology of law are outlined, which underlie the systems or computer programs helping to resolve legal conflicts. It is found that the research tools developed as a methodology within the sociology of law since its emergence will be more widely used in the future, due to the growing use of information and communication technologies in legal activities. It is shown that in the administration of justice it is impossible to generate solutions only on the basis of artificial intelligence, since law and the process of making legal decisions on its basis has more complex characteristics in a democratic society. It is emphasized that obtaining the desired legal result is not limited to the processes of algorithmization, categorization or formal exegetics of legal texts. It rather consists in understanding and thinking in accordance with the accepted values, meanings, evaluative criteria, strategies, perspectives, etc.Scientific novelty: the article reveals the significance of the principles of communicative and communicational theories of law under the development of information and communication technologies in legal activity. The main limitations of the use of artificial intelligence in legal activity and, in particular, in justice are identified.Practical significance: the formulated provisions help, while improving legal regulation, to avoid insufficiently justified decisions on the automation of law enforcement, as well as to take into account the increasing importance of the principles of communicative and communicational theories of law in such types of legal activities as creation, interpretation and application of laws.

Despite the growing interest in the therapeutic value of sport, limited attention has been devoted to understanding the meanings that individuals attribute to their use of physical activity as a complementary therapy. In our analysis, we draw on literature in the sociology of lay knowledge in order to better understand the use of physical activity as a health practice among people with HIV/AIDS. Our objective is to move beyond a biomedical focus, and explore the social, cultural, and political dimensions of using sport and physical activity to negotiate illness. The themes that emerge illustrate the diverse significance of physical activity as a complementary approach to health. Our analysis indicates that research in the sociology of sport can make an important contribution to understanding the therapeutics of physical activity and sport for people with health problems.

Résumé :
During the course of this paper we mobilise an ideal typical framework that identifies three waves of reduction within contemporary qualitative inquiry as they relate to key aspects of the sociological tradition. The paper begins with a consideration of one of sociology's key questions; namely how is social organisation possible? The paper aims to demonstrate how this question moves from view as increased specialisation and differentiation in qualitative methodology within sociology and related disciplines results in a fragmentation and decontextualisation of social practices from social orders. Indeed, the extent to which qualitative methods have been detached from sociological principles is considered in relation to the emergence of a reductionist tendency. The paper argues that the first wave is typified by conceptual couplings such as ‘discourse and the subject’, ‘narrative and experience’, ‘space and place’ and the second by ‘activity type couplings’ such as ‘walking and talking’ and ‘making and telling’ and then, finally, the third wave exemplified through auto-ethnography and digital lifelogging. We argue each of these three waves represent a series of steps in qualitative reduction that, whilst representing innovation, need to reconnect with questions of action, order and social organisation as a complex whole as opposed to disparate parts.

Résumé :
This study aimed at investigating, under the perspective of New Institutional Sociology, what factors led to the weakening and abandonment of Activity Based Costing in two companies. The study was based on a qualitative research method through case studies and evaluated the stages of ABC’ adoption, institutionalization stages and variables of deinstitutionalization. As a result, Beta reached the third stage and Gamma reached the second ABC adoption stage. The normative isomorphism encouraged by the recommendation of consulting firms presented a lot of importance in both companies, while the remaining isomorphism, mimetic, coercive and competitive, had smaller relevance. Neither company reached the stage of full institutionalization, reaching only the pre-institutional one. Evaluating the factors of abandonment and deinstitutionalization of ABC, the assumption with highest expression was social pressure, for not bringing informational innovation, not being a requirement of the head quarter, besides the lack of fiscal incentives. In the categorization of the critical points, ten factors were mapped to the abandonment of ABC: six factors of which are not covered by and four that reinforced the current literature. The conclusion highlights the number of findings that allowed the development of a basic structure for academics and practitioners to analyse it before incurring investments and allocation of employees who will not bring the expected financial results due to the discontinuity of the system adopted by the company.

Взгляды М. Кастельса и В.Л. Views of M. Castells and V.L. Glazychev of the new structures’ organization of the societal life activity, expressed by them at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, are currently being developed, their theoretical predictions are being implemented. The thesis, uniting the positions of two scientists, is an increase in the activity of local communities in response to the fall in social significance of places, occurring (according to Castells) due to the shift from the social vital activity to the virtual space of flows. The human experience is represented by the two developing spheres in modern society: one is based on the functional flows associated with the use of new information and computer technologies, and the other is based on the local historical cultural traditions. Their coexistence is in progress. The scientific concepts comparison expressed from the view of a sociologist, economist and cultural scientist, on the one hand, and an architect, city planner, and an active political figure, on the other, is of interest at the forming the fundamentals of the sociology of architecture, as a new section of general sociology.

The learning model can support a learning process. However, teachers often pay little attention to this. So that among others resulted in active learning and student learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were Sociology teachers and students of class XI IPS 2 at SMAN 1 Buru. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of two cycles. The Classroom Action Research Model according to Kurt Lewin consists of two cycles. Each cycle has four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were students of class XI IPS 2 at SMAN 1 Buru for the 2022/2023 academic year, with a total of 26 students. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation and tests. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, it showed an increase in student learning activity seen in pre-action activities (pre-cycle) the percentage obtained was 19%, the percentage obtained in cycle I was 38%, the percentage obtained in cycle II was 54%. Then, the use of the talking stick type of cooperative learning model can also improve the learning outcomes of class XI IPS 2 SMAN 1 Buru in Sociology subjects. This can be seen from the increase in the average score that has been obtained starting from before the action or pre-action, then there is action in cycle I and cycle II. If in pre-action activities the average score obtained was 66 with a completeness percentage of 42%, cycle I obtained an average score of 74 with a completeness percentage of 58% and cycle II the average value obtained was 82 with a completeness percentage of 77%. In cycles I and II, seeing the activity and student learning outcomes increased according to the researcher's target. So it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of the talking stick type in the Sociology subject of class XI IPS 2 SMAN 1 Buru can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students in class XI IPS 2 SMAN 1 Buru.

Résumé :
The sociological imagination is a core component of all introductory sociology courses. A main focus of this perspective is how social forces are related to individual lives. Undergraduates are often socialized to rely on individualistic explanations of public issues. These explanations often blame, dehumanize, and other the victim, thereby inhibiting the understanding and application of structural analyses. A classroom activity that sought to increase empathy by showing video clips of individuals affected by the issues followed by a focused discussion of their experience was developed, implemented, and assessed. Results comparing pretests and posttests of students who engaged in the activity and those who were taught via more traditional methods indicate the exercise reduced victim-blaming and increased understanding of the sociological imagination. The pedagogical implications of these results for teaching introductory sociology are discussed along with the promise of sociology in the current socio-political context.

Résumé :
The article examines the sociological views of B. Kistyakivsky, his place and role in the history of sociological thought. The scientist's life path, formation and evolution of his scientific interests are traced. It is shown that the formation of B. Kistyakivsky's sociological views did not take place in the Russian academic environment, saturated with populist ideals, positivist concepts and, to some extent, the ideas of "legal Marxism", but in the context of the influential trends of Western European sociological thought and social psychology represented by G.Simmel, M.Weber, G. Tarde, W.Wundt, as well as philosophical neo-Kantianism (G.Rickert, W.Windelband), Neo-Kantian philosophical ideas and attitudes, Western European legal doctrines, which Kistyakivsky became familiar with during his studies at German universities determined his fundamental interest in the methodology of social cognition, in the sociology of law, in constitutionalism as the quintessence of democratic legal culture. Under the influence of neo-Kantianism, B.Kistyakivsky delved into the specifics of scientific knowledge of social phenomena, he was one of the first (if not the first) in world sociology to attempt a systemic logical and methodological awareness of social cognition as such and sociological science in particular. The positions of B. Kistiakivskiу regarding various interpretations of the essence and tasks of sociology as a science were analyzed. His contribution to the development of the logical and methodological foundations of sociological knowledge, criticism of subjectivism and naturalism in sociological science, his proposals for overcoming the crisis state of social sciences, and his proposed solution to the problem of combining social necessity and conscious human activity are highlighted. The attitude of B. Kistyakivsky to the Ukrainian question, his dedication to Ukrainian culture, his role in the creation of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences is shown.

Nevskii, Andrei V. « Sociology of volunteering : defining the boundaries of research ». VESTNIK INSTITUTA SOTZIOLOGII 11, no 1 (2020) : 32–48. http://dx.doi.org/10.19181/vis.2020.11.1.624.

Résumé :
The sociological study of volunteerism typically uses a definition which includes all possible types of free, unpaid activities which benefit other people. Such an approach transforms the very phenomenon of volunteerism into an analytical tool for studying various fields of economic and social life: degrees of development of civil society, employment structure, features of a certain economic mode. Regardless, the use of such a definition when researching volunteer movements presents certain problems. Multiple critics point out that such an approach towards understanding volunteerism, on one hand, leads to various types of volunteer activity being excluded from the scope of research, namely those which do not fully comply with the aforementioned criteria of free choice and gratuitousness; on the other hand, it waters down the concept of volunteerism, by merging it with other forms of civil action, such as political activism. Furthermore, most studies exhibit a tendency towards highlighting volunteerism as a special type of action, which possesses persistent intrinsic characteristics regardless of the field in which it is being undertaken. Such an approach results in a complete lack of care for certain essential features of various types of those productive activities which volunteers can partake in. It’s also worth noting that research doesn’t tend to include practices of volunteerism when the main focus of analysis shifts towards studying the socio-demographic characteristics of participants, as well as issues concerning their motivation. Based on analyzing Russian and foreign sources, the article presents an overview of the issues associated with defining the boundaries of the field in question, while discussing the main difficulties when it comes to constructing a general theory of volunteerism, and analyzing the separation of various forms of civil activity which is typically present in foreign literature: volunteerism, grassroots political involvement, civil activism. The article brings forth arguments for limiting the subject of research and for analytical separation between various forms of civil activity.

Résumé :
Family entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon, as a type of employment and economic activity of the Russian family remains a poorly studied issue of sociological analysis and sociology of entrepreneurship. The author of this article guided by the principle of historical continuity analyzes the phenomenon of family entrepreneurship as a type of economic activity from the viewpoint of theoretical positions of J. Schumpeter, N. Kondratiev, F. Knight, F. Haiker and I. Kirzer. At the same time, the author synthesizes an economic approach with a sociological one on four theoretical and methodological grounds: family entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon of economic development; as a type of labor activity; as a form of group economic behavior of a small group and as a type of labor education of children, their integration into the economic activity of the family as a whole. From the conceptual standpoint of gender sociology and the new world order, family entrepreneurship is presented as a type of gender-neutral entrepreneurship in which all family members can participate, regardless of gender, but with varying degrees of involvement into the family business. The empirical data for the analysis is based on the results of applied sociological research of the Scientific School “Gender Economic Sociology” of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, on the one hand, and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the other.

Résumé :
The Community Service (PkM) activities that will be carried out with the Jakarta State University grant for the 2023 fiscal year depart from the road map of the research and community service program as an implementation of the tridarma of higher education at Jakarta State University related to the field of education, especially the development of teacher professionalism and the road map of the Sociology Education study program which aims to assist in writing class action research (PTK) for sociology teachers who are members of the DKI Jakarta subject teacher deliberation (MGMP). Through teacher communities such as MGMP, teachers can use it to improve the quality of teaching from preparation to evaluation and quality improvement through class action research. However, the problem that is currently present is that there are still few teacher communities that utilize the forum to improve their teaching capacity, one of which is experienced by teachers in the DKI Jakarta MGMP Sociology community. Therefore, in this community service activity, training on classroom action research will be carried out to improve the quality of learning by sharing experiences and knowledge related to classroom action research. This community service activity is in partnership with the Education Office and the DKI Jakarta MGMP Sociology Community. The process of activities that will be carried out by this service team with a mentoring system, mentoring activities begins with organizing focus group discussions to explore more deeply related to constraints and mapping the ability of teachers to make class action research. In mentoring, all teachers who are members of the DKI Jakarta Sociology MGMP will participate. It is expected that the output of this activity will result in a mentoring video on YouTube, teacher work, and intellectual property rights from making class action research

Résumé :
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to apply an economic sociology perspective to the activity–resource–actor (ARA) interaction model for business relationships. Interaction has been chosen as a conceptual domain where economic sociology has a particularly high potential to advance business-to-business (B2B) marketing in terms of its future research directions. Design/methodology/approach – The paper provides a structured account of economic sociology through the description of eight key economic sociology concepts and discussion of the structuration theory. This is followed by an overview of the usage of the eight key economic sociology concepts in current B2B marketing research, and concludes with outlining eight specific future research directions which guide future research on interaction in business relationships. Findings – Eight economic sociology concepts are identified: embeddedness, networks, institutions, power, social capital, identity, social structures and cognition. An overview of the application of these constructs within the B2B marketing literature shows how most of them are used as metaphors with a gap in understanding their economic sociology background. Research limitations/implications – Future research directions are described individually, do not include potential interaction effects and are developed within the ARA interaction model framework. Given the conceptual nature of the paper, it does not provide any empirical data and illustrations related to any of the eight key economic sociology concepts. Originality/value – The paper answers a call for a wider integration of economic sociology into the B2B marketing literature. It provides a systematic eight-concept economic sociology framework to be used by B2B marketing theorists and researchers. The paper finishes with eight concrete future research directions through which an economic sociology perspective can help advance B2B marketing theory and business relationship management practice. A brief discussion of managerial implications is also provided at the end.
