Résumé :
Abstract: Through this project we are trying to prepare the model of a garbage bin in which according to the planning it should detect the garbage and slide the flip of the garbage bin. In this project we have planned to make use of sensors through which the garbage can be detected and accordingly the flip can be slide. Here through this project, we have planned to module the project on the basis of different kind of garbage being usually disposed. In this project the garbage bin is being divided into the basic two types of waste i.e., dry waste and wet waste. Here the sensors will detect not only the garbage but also which kind of garbage is being present there and accordingly open the flip and allow to through the garbage in the bin accordingly.

Résumé :
Living in a technological world that is upgrading day by day, there is one major problem that should be dealt with. Garbage, which is the issue preventing us from developing into a sanitary, clean, and healthy society. In our daily lives, we frequently encounter trash cans that are overflowing with junk. Neither our environment nor our growth benefit from situations like this. Due to the abundance of flies and mosquitoes that breed on the garbage, this issue has a significant negative impact on health. As a result, this project is designed to prevent the trashcan from becoming overfilled by giving it the ability to alert itself when it needs to be cleaned. The smart trash bin system in this project is built on a microcontroller and has ultrasonic sensors on each of the two trash cans to display the garbage's current status on an LCD screen and a smartphone.

Résumé :
Smart Garbage Monitoring System using Arduino and Blynk is an IoT-based project that is integrated with cloud computing service. It was developed specifically to help janitors and residential college representative committee in a public university in Malaysia in monitoring the level of garbage in the dustbin through Blynk application, which makes it easy to empty the dustbin and optimize the garbage collection time. This project uses ultrasonic sensor to measure the level of garbage in the dustbin and the data can be viewed through mobile application, Blynk. It will also notify users through email once the garbage bin capacity is full. Other than notification function, Smart Garbage Monitoring System also consists of automatic open and close lid, track dustbin location and humidity level. The objectives of this project are to design the IoT system that detects the level of the garbage displayed in Blynk and an LCD attached to the dustbin and to validate the user acceptance test for the system. The development of Smart Garbage Monitoring System used the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by implementing the agile model as the methodology. A User Acceptance Testing was conducted with 20 respondents including students from the student representatives’ body and janitors. This testing aimed to determine the acceptance of the system by conducting an evaluation. The results of the User Acceptance Test shows that most of the participants agreed and verified that the system works for them and a suitable solution for their problems. Therefore, based on the features and functionalities offered by the Smart Garbage Monitoring System, it could be concluded that this system is beneficial to all the users, especially the janitors and students of the residential college.

With the continuous innovation of science and technology, the quality of life of Chinese residents has been continuously improved. But behind the growing economy, there is a serious problem of garbage disposal. Aiming at the problems of garbage disposal and recycling, a Raspberry Pi is proposed as the base platform to build an intelligent garbage classification model to realize the design of intelligent garbage classification and recycling. With the help of AI to obtain garbage image recognition, improve the efficiency of garbage sorting, break through the limitation of space, minimize the investment of labor costs, realize smart construction, and have high promotion and application value.

Résumé :
I noticed that the workers had the same itinerary when emptying trashcans, meanwhile trashcans needed urgently to be emptied. Traditionally, ETSU maintenance operate on daily routes to pick trash on designated time, regardless the level of the containers. This leads to overflown trashcan in busy areas or during rush hours in certain areas. This overflown trashcan result in an unclean environment for the community and an unpleasant look of our beautiful campus. The time, resources and labor invested in collecting the trash could be saved. Therefore, I decided to use the Internet of Things (IoT) to create a device that will optimize trash collection, to reduce costs and pollution. The Eco-Smart Can will contain a renewable source of energy such as the solar panel. Furthermore, it will have a compactor as well to decrease the trash volume. The system in the Eco-Smart can will give prior information of the trash level to maintenance facility so that they can empty the trash in a timely manner and preserve the environment.

DOMINIC, ONGERI ABUGA. « REAL-TIME SMART GARBAGE BIN MECHANISM FOR SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN SMART CITIES BASED ON IOT ». Thesis, 2021. http://dspace.dtu.ac.in:8080/jspui/handle/repository/18936.

Résumé :
Unprecedented urbanization and rapid population growth have increased waste generated annually, posing significant challenges to cities globally. The annual World Health Organization reports indicate that we lose many people to preventable diseases because of improper waste disposal and management. The provision of garbage bins is not good enough to manage waste in our smart cities. The major problem is that garbage bins fill up so quickly, and it takes time for municipal workers to notice. This research project focuses on real-time smart garbage bin for solid waste management for smart cities based on IoT (internet of things). Conventional garbage collection and management systems have many shortcomings, such as inaccessibility to actual data required, lack of throughput, and late unloading. The smart garbage bin mechanism proposed accesses real-time information of any garbage bin across the city; this helps resolve the problem of waste overflow from garbage bins. The system ensures that cities are kept clean. Fuzzy logic is applied in the strategic deployment of smart garbage bins across the smart cities. This proposed system will be implemented on Net-logo, which has widely been used in multi-agent modelling environments.

Résumé :
The work is devoted to designing a smart home educational model. The authors analyzed the literature in the field of the Internet of Things and identified the basic requirements for the training model. It contains the following levels: command, communication, management. The authors identify the main subsystems of the training model: communication, signaling, control of lighting, temperature, filling of the garbage container, monitoring of sensor data. The proposed smart home educational model takes into account the economic indicators of resource utilization, which gives the opportunity to save on payment for their consumption. The hardware components for the implementation of the Mini Smart House were selected in the article. It uses a variety of technologies to conveniently manage it and use renewable energy to power it. The model was produced independently by students involved in the STEM project. Research includes sketching, making construction parts, sensor assembly and Arduino boards, programming in the Arduino IDE environment, testing the functioning of the system.
