In this paper, the radial and axial vibrations of a rigid shaft supported by a pair of angular contact ball bearings is studied. The effect of bearing running surface waviness on the vibration of the shaft is investigated. A computer program was developed to simulate inner race, outer race, and rolling surface waviness with the results presented in time and frequency domains. Results obtained from the similation programme are quantatively in good aggrement with various authors’ experimental researches.

Background: The factors that may contribute to learners’ perception about the usefulness of Anaesthesia Crisis Resource Management (ACRM) key points are little known. Objectives: We investigated the link between demographic factors and the effect of an ACRM simulation training on anaesthesiologists’ perceived value of ACRM key points. Design: A prospective pre- and post-test survey from December 2017 to December 2019 of 111 anaesthesiologists involved into a combined ACRM-ACLS course in a simulation centre. Methods: Before and after the course participants were asked to indicate which were, in their opinion, the 5 ACRM key points most relevant for managing an anaesthetic emergency. No taxonomy tool of the 15 ACRM key points was used for teaching purposes. Main outcome measures: Pre-/post-course differences in participants’ subjective choices were connected by logistic regression analysis with demographic factors which included age, gender, years of work as anaesthesiologist, the amount of updating exposure, and familiarity with ACRM. Results: In median participants (47 M/64 F) had an age of 42 years (IQR 34-55 years), and 10 years working experience as anaesthesiologists (IQR 4-20 years). Around 20% of them had never heard of ACRM prior to this course. Communication was selected by up to 75% of participants without pre-/post-course differences. Although the other 4 ACRM points remained heterogeneously selected even after the course, we observed post-course vs pre-course increase in the selection rate of the ACRM points that address leadership, correct distribution of workload and utilization of all available resources. Among participants’ characteristics, the lack of familiarity with ACRM was the only significant predictor of the number of pre- to post-course changes in ACRM key points selection (OR=3.03, CI 95% 1.04 -9.09; p=0.0418). Conclusions: The familiarity with ACRM should be considered when planning ACRM training, especially in cases where the ACRM training is not yet part of a formal education in anaesthesia.

This study determined the proposed Learning Action Cell Scheme based on Introduction, Development, Engagement, and Assimilation in relation to the mental health of the ten selected Senior High School Teachers in Plaridel District, Division of Quezon. Using a researcher-made questionnaire distributed through Google form, it sought answers to the level of stress the Senior High School Teachers in Plaridel Quezon had the response level in the Learning Action Cell (I.D.E.A. pattern) in terms of effectivity, time management, and behavioral aspects, the acceptance level of the Learning Action Cell proposed topics and the intervention scheme for Learning Action Cell. Descriptive survey research was used. All respondents were suffering from stress attributed to various intrinsic and extrinsic stresses. Most of the respondents had had the same experiences as they underwent in the L.A.C. session. The topics proposed were useful to manage the stress level of the teachers through L.A.C. sessions and strategic leadership of the school heads.

Computational modeling of the cardiovascular system, promoted by the advance of fluid-structure interaction numerical methods, has made great progress towards the development of patient-specific numerical aids to diagnosis, risk prediction, intervention and clinical treatment. Nevertheless, the reliability of these models is inevitably impacted by rough modeling assumptions. A strong in-tegration of patient-specific data into numerical modeling is therefore needed in order to improve the accuracy of the predictions through the calibration of important physiological parameters. The Bayesian statistical framework to inverse problems is a powerful approach that relies on posterior sampling techniques, such as Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms. The generation of samples re-quires many evaluations of the cardiovascular parameter-to-observable model. In practice, the use of a full cardiovascular numerical model is prohibitively expensive and a computational strategy based on approximations of the system response, or surrogate models, is needed to perform the data as-similation. As the support of the parameters distribution typically concentrates on a small fraction of the initial prior distribution, a worthy improvement consists in gradually adapting the surrogate model to minimize the approximation error for parameter values corresponding to high posterior den-sity. We introduce a novel numerical pathway to construct a series of polynomial surrogate models, by regression, using samples drawn from a sequence of distributions likely to converge to the posterior distribution. The approach yields substantial gains in efficiency and accuracy over direct prior-based surrogate models, as demonstrated via application to pulse wave velocities identification in a human lower limb arterial network.

The problem of modeling of semantic structure of similative phraseological units is described. With the use of formal meta language SESAME invented for the purposes of the conducted semantic analyses (a meaningful acronym of Standard Events and Situations Artificial Meta-language) on the basis of frame-scenario models, the authors made an attempt to analyze the transferred meaning and in particular the degree of modeling potential, the degree of explicitness / implicitness, the degree of semantic dividedness / integrity and the scale of the denotative area of English similative phraseological units. Similative phraseological units under consideration can be comparative, metaphoric or allegoric.

Depuis les premiers travaux de Zadeh et Mamdani sur la commande floue, celle-ci a été appliquée industriellement dans divers domaines dont celui des transports. En effet, depuis 1987, le métro de Sendai (japon) est piloté automatiquement par un algorithme flou. Aussi, le travail présenté dans ce mémoire, et effectue en collaboration avec la RATP, propose une étude de faisabilité d'une commande floue de rame de métro. Plusieurs aspects de la conduite sont pris en compte dans la commande envisagée, en particulier le confort des passagers et la consommation d'énergie. A cette fin, une plate-forme expérimentale reproduisant le système physique est réalisée. Différentes manipulations sont exécutées par trente-deux sujets accomplissant trois taches (suivi de vitesse de consigne, arrêt et conduite) sur trois interstations, fictives et réelles. A partir des données recueillies, le problème consiste à déterminer les meilleurs sujets, qualifiés d'experts, à la lumières de cinq critères (temps de parcours, suivi de consigne de vitesse, précision d'arrêt, confort, consommation d'énergie) pour chacune des tâches et chacune des interstations. Trois solutions sont proposées: l'une floue et les deux autres multicritères. La synthèse de leurs résultats est ensuite effectuée afin de déterminer les experts. Les données brutes relatives à chaque expert sont ensuite exploitées par l'algorithme d'identification floue de Takagi & Sugeno pour déterminer les différents paramètres de deux types de régulateurs flous : simple et double. Une évaluation des performances de ceux-ci est donnée en comparaison des résultats obtenus avec d'autres approches (classiques et floues). Ce mémoire se conclut sur l'apport de tels régulateurs flous dans la conduite automatique d'une rame et présente les différentes perspectives de cette étude de faisabilité
Since the pioneer works achieved by ZADEH and MAMDANI about fuzzy control, this one has been industrially applied in various domains such as transportation. Besides, since 1987, the Sendai subway (Japan) is automatically driven by a fuzzy control algorithm. Thus, the works set out in this report and carried out in collaboration with RATP, intend to evaluate the feasibility of a subway train fuzzy controller. Many aspects of driving are considered in the controller we intend to design, particulary passengers’comfort and energy saving. For that, an experimental platform reproducing the real system is achieved. Different experiments are performed by thirty-two subjects carrying out three tasks (speed traceability, stopping and driving) over three interstations, fictious and actual. From collected data, the problem consists in determining the best subjects, named experts, in the light of five criteria (running time, target speed traceability, stopping accuracy, comfort, energy consumption) for each task and interstation. Three ways are proposed. The former is a fuzzy method, the latter are multicriteria ones. Their results are then synthesized to determine experts. Then data related to each of the experts are treated via TAKAGI & SUGENO fuzzy identification algorithm to fit the different parameters of two kinds of fuzzy controllers : “single” and “double”. An evaluation of these controllers is given by comparing their results to those obtained through other approaches (classical and fuzzy ones). This report ends by a conclusion about the contribution of such fuzzy controllers in automatic subway train driving and introduces the different prospects of this feasibility study

Nous avons développé un nouveau modèle macroscopique capable de prendre en compte ces phénomènes. Ce modèle nous a permis d'analyser l'influence exacte des instabilités de Weibel. A cause de la raideur des équations, nous avons dérivé un nouveau solveur numérique avec lequel des simulations réalistes ont été obtenues et analysées.

A grande quantidade de artigos científicos disponíveis on-line faz com que seja mais fácil para estudantes e pesquisadores reutilizarem texto de outros autores, e torna mais difícil a verificação da originalidade de um determinado texto. Reutilizar texto sem creditar a fonte é considerado plágio. Uma série de estudos relatam a alta prevalência de plágio no meio acadêmico e científico. Como consequência, inúmeras instituições e pesquisadores têm se dedicado à elaboração de sistemas para automatizar o processo de verificação de plágio. A maioria dos trabalhos existentes baseia-se na análise da similaridade do conteúdo textual dos documentos para avaliar a existência de plágio. Mais recentemente, foram propostas métricas de similaridade que desconsideram o texto e analisam apenas as citações e/ou referências bibliográficas compartilhadas entre documentos. Entretanto, casos em que o autor não referencia a fonte original pode passar despercebido pelas métricas baseadas apenas na análise de referências/citações. Neste contexto, a solução proposta é baseada na hipótese de que a combinação de métricas de similaridade de conteúdo e de citações/referências pode melhorar a qualidade da detecção de plágio. Duas formas de combinação são propostas: (i) os escores produzidos pelas métricas de similaridade são utilizados para ranqueamento dos pares de documentos e (ii) os escores das métricas são utilizados para construir vetores de características que serão usados por algoritmos de Aprendizagem de Máquina para classificar os documentos. Os experimentos foram realizados com conjuntos de dados reais de artigos científicos. A avaliação experimental mostra que a hipótese foi confirmada quando a combinação das métricas de similaridade usando Aprendizagem de Máquina é comparada com a combinação simples. Ainda, ambas as combinações apresentaram ganhos quando comparadas com as métricas aplicadas de forma individual.
The large amount of scientific documents available online makes it easier for students and researchers reuse text from other authors, and makes it difficult to verify the originality of a given text. Reusing text without crediting the source is considered plagiarism. A number of studies have reported on the high prevalence of plagiarism in academia. As a result, many institutions and researchers have developed systems that automate the plagiarism detection process. Most of the existing work is based on the analysis of the similarity of the textual content of documents to assess the existence of plagiarism. More recently, similarity metrics that ignore the text and just analyze the citations and/or references shared between documents have been proposed. However, cases in which the author does not reference the original source may go unnoticed by metrics based only on the references/citations analysis. In this context, the proposed solution is based on the hypothesis that the combination of content similarity metrics and references/citations can improve the quality of plagiarism detection. Two forms of combination are proposed: (i) scores produced by the similarity metrics are used to ranking of pairs of documents and (ii) scores of metrics are used to construct feature vectors that are used by algorithms machine learning to classify documents. The experiments were performed with real data sets of papers. The experimental evaluation shows that the hypothesis was confirmed when the combination of the similarity metrics using machine learning is compared with the simple combining. Also, both compounds showed gains when compared with the metrics applied individually.

L'étude de l'émission diffuse galactique est un sujet d'intérêt majeur en astronomie gamma au-delà du GeV pour l'étude des rayonnements cosmiques chargés de notre Galaxie. Face au peu de mesures au-dessus de 10 GeV, nous avons recherché la composante gamma diffuse dans les données hors-source (OFF) de CELESTE, premier télescope à effet Tcherenkov atmosphérique à avoir un seuil en énergie en-dessous de 100 GeV. La production et l'étude de simulations Monte-Carlo de gamma ont permis de valider l'accord entre les simulations et les données, et d'estimer la sensibilité de CELESTE aux gamma diffus. Afin de rechercher le rayonnement gamma diffus, essentiellement localisé aux faibles latitudes galactiques, nous avons entrepris une analyse de lots de données OFF, réalisant ainsi une association par paires OFF / OFF. Une première étape a consisté à vérifier l'absence d'effet systématique significatif en comparant paire par paire deux OFF pris à des dates différentes dans des régions de hautes latitudes galactiques où aucun signal gamma diffus n'était décelable, et sélectionnés selon des critères de stabilité de l'acquisition et de l'atmosphère, pour des pointés identiques. La deuxième étape, visant à rechercher un excès d'événements dans le plan galactique, a consisté à associer en paires les OFF de la nébuleuse du Crabe dont l'un des membres est situé à une latitude |l| < 2°, et l'autre à une latitude |l| = 10°. La soustraction OFF-OFF des données après coupures d'analyse sur des variables construites sur des propriétés géométriques et temporelles du front d'onde Tcherenkov, permettait ainsi la discrimination entre les candidats électromagnétiques et hadroniques. La région sondée était donc celle de l'anticentre galactique. Nous avons obtenu 7 paires, soit 108 min de données. Une limite supérieure à 95 % de niveau de confiance a été établie à 100 GeV, correspondant au flux limite intégral phi (E=100 GeV) = 6,6 x 10^-3 m^-2 s^-1 sr^-1.

Basic ALU consists of arithmetic unit, logic unit and control unit.In order to achieve high performance MAC unit is incorporated in the design of ALU.MAC unit performsmultiplication and accumulation process. Basic MAC unitconsists of multiplier, adder, and accumulator.In the existing MAC unit designed using Dadda Multiplier and adder as Carry Save Adder (CSA). The proposed MAC unit designed using Dadda Multiplier and adder as Carry Increment Adder (CSA).However in the proposed model all traditional full adders are replaced by improved full adder. The performance analysis of MAC unit models in terms of area, delay and power is done.Various MAC unit models are designed using Verilog HDL. Simulation and synthesis are done using Xilinx ISE 12.2 for Virtex-6 family 40nm technology device. The power is calculated using Lattice Diamond Design suite software.

In this thesis, quantum mechanical calculation was employed to simulate the adsorption of CO and O2 on RuO2(110) surface. In addition, CO oxidation mechanisms on the surface also have been characterized by theoretical study. Two cluster models were applied in this work, one contains two adjacent Rucus site and another contains neighbored Rucus site and Rubr site. Reactions on RuO2(110) surface are successfully investigated by DFT calculation using the cluster models, the calculated binding energies and reaction energies are in good agreement with experiment. In the adsorption of CO and O2, the binding energies are strong affected by the bonding environment. There is a significant anti-cooperative effect: the binding energies will be reduced when the neighboring site is occupied by other species, especially when an oxygen atom on neighboring site. For O2 adsorption, the pathways of adsorption mechanism also been characterized. The adsorption energies of oxygen species are very high and RuO2(110) surface shows a good oxygen storage ability. Besides the oxygen species Ocus and Obr on RuO2(110) surface that have been investigated before, 1�� superoxo and bridge superoxo oxygen species were characterized in this work. 1�� superoxo oxygen species is an oxygen molecule adsorbed on Rucus site with one oxygen atom dangled, where the dangled oxygen atom demonstrates a high reaction activity. There are four CO oxidation mechanisms are proposed in this work. In CO oxidation reactions, adsorbed CO molecule reacts with dangled oxygen atom provides a reaction mechanism with lowest barrier of 0.55 eV, which is much lower than other mechanisms that are about 1 eV.

Il campo di ricerca in cui il Progetto si colloca è quello dello studio termodinamico statistico di sistemi uidi complessi, potenzialmente ordinati. Esso ha preso spunto dalle precedenti ricerche svolte presso il laboratorio LX-NMR S.C.An. del Dipartimento di Chimica e Tecnologie Chimiche dell'Università della Calabria dove, da lungo tempo, ci si occupa di problematiche connesse ai Cristalli Liquidi, conducendo studi che potrebbero essere de niti di 'base', miranti cioè alla comprensione delle interessantissime proprietà molecolari di cui godono questi sistemi. La nalità del Progetto implica, come appena detto, uno studio della materia a livello molecolare. Spesso, sulla base dei dati sperimentali raccolti (ad esempio, mediante le competenze NMR del Laboratorio presso il quale ha avuto luogo lo svolgimento del presente Progetto di Dottorato) si rende necessaria una 'interpretazione' dei risultati sperimentali, allo scopo di fornire una chiave di lettura dei fenomeni che avvengono su scala molecolare, in modo da coniugare, possibilmente, aspetti microscopici e macroscopici (provando cioè a fornire una giusti cazione e 'razionalizzazione' microscopica dei comportamenti macroscopici della materia stessa). Storicamente, presso il Gruppo di Ricerca del Laboratorio presso il quale è stato sviluppato Progetto di Dottorato, l'approccio utilizzato è stato di tipo Molecular Field (MF); tuttavia, nell'ultima decade, grazie alla collaborazione con altri gruppi di Ricerca (in particolare, in collaborazione col prof. Giorgio Cinacchi ) ci si è avvicinati allo studio delle problematiche riguardanti le fasi parzialmente ordinate anche per mezzo di simulazioni numeriche (tipicamente Monte Carlo, ma non solo. . . ). Pertanto, nell'ottica di valorizzare sinergicamente quelle che possono essere considerate due importanti chiavi di lettura dei fenomeni a livello molecolare (ai quali, come Chimico-Fisici, siamo interessati), si è pensato di coniugare sinergicamente i due approcci (MF e MC) cui si è appena accennato. Entrambe le metodologie presentano ovviamente pregi e difetti, spesso (fortunatamente. . . ) complementari. Ad esempio, il MF ha il pregio di partire, tipicamente, da una certa 'semplicità' descrittiva, che spesso si origina su basi intuitive (a volte, anche 'elementari'), al ne di cogliere quelle che sono le caratteristiche essenziali dei fenomeni che si stanno investigando. Di contro, come pecca, esso risulta spesso troppo 'a grana grossa'; alle volte anche troppo essenziale nelle linee, tanto da non permettere di cogliere pienamente i dettagli e/o gli aspetti peculiari cui si aspirerebbe. D'altro canto, l'approccio stesso può presentare un aspetto matematico impegnativo, a causa di calcoli di un certo rilievo che richiedono l'utilizzo di software opportuni (spesso originali e/o commerciali), sebbene non sia strettamente necessario disporre di una imponente potenza di calcolo. Nelle simulazioni numeriche, al contrario, l'obiettivo è quello di costruire, partendo dalla modellizzazione delle interazioni molecolari, una 'realtà molecolare virtuale', ovviamente anch'essa in uenzata dalla metodologia utilizzata (Monte Carlo, Molecular Dynamics, ecc. . . ) che getti luce su aspetti magari meno intuitivi del comportamento dei sistemi uidi studiati. Per sperare di ottenere dei dati a dabili e realistici, però, occorre mettere in gioco una quantità di particelle signi cativa che può essere anche imponente (a seconda del fenomeno che si sta investigando), con la possibile conseguente dilatazione dei tempi di calcolo, a volte tali da rendere inattuabili i calcoli stessi. In tale ottica, per cogliere il meglio di entrambe le metodologie, è necessario a nostro avviso, metterle a confronto. Ciò che ci siamo dunque proposti per lo svolgimento del lavoro di Dottorato è stato di provare entrambi gli approcci il più possibile 'in parallelo'. Questa prospettiva risultava alquanto 'intrigante' e ci siamo riproposti di applicarla a quell'Universo ancora nebuloso rappresentato delle a ascinanti fasi termotropiche nematiche biassiali (ma non solo. . . vide infra). L'esistenza di tale mesofase è ancora oggi oggetto di dibattito, in quanto la prova ultima ed inequivocabile dell'osservazione di tali fasi non è stata fornita al di là d'ogni ragionevole dubbio; infatti, negli anni, questa fase ha pienamente meritato l'appellativo di fase 'elusiva e sfuggente', tale da essere de nita da alcuni ricercatori del campo, come il 'Sacro Graal' dei Cristalli Liquidi. Facendo riferimento più in dettaglio al lavoro di Tesi, abbiamo pensato di organizzare il materiale con una Introduzione complessiva, in cui si focalizzano quelle che saranno le nalità del lavoro. Il Capitolo 1, invece, è dedicato ad un'impostazione teorica generale della materia trattata, che farà da supporto anche per i successivi capitoli (senza però dilungarci nell'ennesima e ridondante descrizione dettagliata delle fasi liquido-cristalline, che risulta essere praticamente ubiquitaria, al ne di non appesantire eccessivamente la lettura). Nel Capitolo 2, ci si occupa di una parte consistente dell'attività del Progetto (parte del quale è stato svolto presso l'Università Autonoma di Madrid sotto la supervisione del prof. Giorgio Cinacchi. In tale periodo ci si è dedicati prevalentemente all'apprendimento delle metodologie (con particolare attenzione ai metodi MC), non solo teoricamente. ma anche e soprattutto dal punto di vista pratico. In particolare, abbiamo studiato come le caratteristiche di simme tria delle singole particelle componenti il sistema studiato (dunque, l'appartenenza delle molecole a particolari point groups, quali il D2h, C2h, C2v, ecc. . . ) possano, in linea di principio, originare regioni ove i sistemi acquisiscano, ad es., la caratteristica di essere orientazionalmente biassiali. Procedendo in questa disamina, nel Capitolo 3 è illustrata una particolare applicazione di una metodologia MF (elaborata precedentemente dal prof. Celebre), in scenari molecolari nel cui contesto altri approcci dello stesso tipo denotavano limiti e di coltà. In particolare, sono state investigate le interazioni orientazionali cosiddette 'parzialmente repulsive' tra le molecole, consentendo di 'correlare' direttamente i parametri di biassialità e che compaiono all'interno dell'espressione del potenziale orientazionale, alle propriet à di forma delle particelle (nel caso in questione, schematizzate come mattoncini a simmetria D2h). Ciò può consentire, in linea di principio, di esplorare le conseguenze dell'alterazione dei parametri geometrici molecolari su caratteristiche peculiari del sistema, come le Temperature di transizioni di fase, l'eventuale biassialità delle fasi ecc. Nel corso dello svolgimento del Progetto di Dottorato, è sorta (anche in sinergia con le diverse attività di ricerca all'interno del Laboratorio LX-NMR S.C.An.) una problematica in cui l'apporto delle simulazioni numeriche poteva risultare particolarmente utile. L'interesse era quello di cogliere come sistemi ordinati, composti da particelle elicoidali, potessero impartire un determinato ordine orientazionale a dei piccoli soluti, a loro volta elicoidali, a seconda del senso di avvolgimento delle particelle di solvente. Vista la peculiarità oggettiva (morfologica) delle particelle, i risultati ottenuti potrebbero fungere da banco di prova per un processo di 'enantioriconoscimento' assoluto. Dalle simulazioni abbiamo osservato che talune volte (non sempre. . . ) è possibile discriminare senza ambiguità i due enantiomeri (trattandosi di particelle elicoidali, essi vengono tipicamente individuati mediante i descrittori P ed M), È stato accertato che il veri carsi delle possibilità di enantiodiscriminazione dipende da determinate condizioni (che vengono dettagliatamente discusse nel Capitolo 4). L'idea e le simulazioni numeriche hanno altresì costituito prezioso materiale per un modello MF del fenomeno, in grado di consentire appunto, in linea di principio, la distinzione assoluta dei due enantiomeri (assunta nota l'elicità del solvente). Ciò è reso possibile dalla formulazione di un potenziale orientazionale sensibile alla chiralità, capace di tenere conto del senso di avvolgimento delle particelle elicoidali che si stanno considerando. Il modello elaborato viene presentato e discusso nel Capitolo 5: esso sembra essere particolarmente interessante, avendo anche, a nostro avviso, i requisiti necessari per essere, successivamente, ulteriormente migliorato e 'a nato' per la trattazione di sistemi reali. Per concludere, l'aspetto che maggiormente ci preme sottolineare quale ' loso a' che permea l'intero lavoro di Tesi, è quello di concepire le due metodologie, Molecular Field e Simulazioni Numeriche, come sinergiche (e pertanto non mutuamente esclusive, bensì complementari) una loro corretta applicazione potrebbe condurre il Ricercatore ad ampli carne l'e cacia ed allo stesso tempo aumentare la possibilità di 'innescare' nuove idee sulla base dei dati ottenuti.

Writing is a personalized creative activity. From the perspective of memetics, the collection-conception-expression process in writing behavior is consistent with the as-similation-memory-expression-dissemination process of memes. Compared with the ele-mentary level, the language ability index points of the intermediate level have a large span. Due to the limitation of the Chinese level, the learners cannot realize the equivalence between personal cognitive information and Chinese expression. The lack of willingness of Chinese learners to write in Chinese is the main problem faced by the intermediate writ-ing teaching. Based on the description of medium writing ability in the Chinese proficien-cy level standard, writing teaching helps students build cognitive memes and language memes. In the middle stage, language memes are mainly applied stylistic training to im-prove the accuracy of word expression and the integrity of content Sex is the core mission. In teaching, countermeasures such as strengthening the cultivation of students' cognitive ability, strengthening the cognitive connection between Chinese and students' mother tongue, and improving the accuracy of students' Chinese expression can be adopted.
