Spatio-temporal land-use/ land-cover (<i>LULC</i>) change modeling is important to forecast the future <i>LULC</i> distribution, which may facilitate natural resource management, urban planning, etc. The spatio-temporal change in <i>LULC</i> trend often exhibits non-linear behavior, due to various dynamic factors, such as, human intervention (e.g., urbanization), environmental factors, etc. Hence, proper forecasting of <i>LULC</i> distribution should involve the study and trend modeling of historical data. Existing literatures have reported that the meteorological attributes (e.g., <i>NDVI</i>, <i>LST</i>, <i>MSI</i>), are semantically related to the terrain. Being influenced by the terrestrial dynamics, the temporal changes of these attributes depend on the <i>LULC</i> properties. Hence, incorporating meteorological knowledge into the temporal prediction process may help in developing an accurate forecasting model. This work attempts to study the change in inter-annual <i>LULC</i> pattern and the distribution of different meteorological attributes of a region in Kolkata (a metropolitan city in India) during the years 2000-2010 and forecast the future spread of <i>LULC</i> using <i>semantic kriging</i> (<i>SemK</i>) approach. A new variant of time-series <i>SemK</i> is proposed, namely <i>Rev-SemK</i><sub>ts</sub> to capture the multivariate semantic associations between different attributes. From empirical analysis, it may be observed that the augmentation of semantic knowledge in spatio-temporal modeling of meteorological attributes facilitate more precise forecasting of <i>LULC</i> pattern.

Intestinal mucositis is an important toxic side effect of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) treatment.Saccharomyces boulardiiis known to protect from intestinal injury via an effect on the gastrointestinal microbiota. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect ofS. boulardiion intestinal mucositis induced by 5-FU in a murine model. Mice were divided into saline, saline (control)+5-FU or 5-FU+S. boulardii(16 × 109colony-forming units/kg) treatment groups, and the jejunum and ileum were removed after killing of mice for the evaluation of histopathology, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, and non-protein sulfhydryl group (mainly reduced glutathione; GSH), nitrite and cytokine concentrations. To determine gastric emptying, phenol red was administered orally, mice were killed 20 min after administration, and the absorbance of samples collected from the mice was measured by spectrophotometry. Intestinal permeability was measured by the urinary excretion rate of lactulose and mannitol following oral administration.S. boulardiisignificantly reversed the histopathological changes in intestinal mucositis induced by 5-FU and reduced the inflammatory parameters: neutrophil infiltration (control 1·73 (sem0·37) ultrastructural MPO (UMPO)/mg, 5-FU 7·37 (sem1·77) UMPO/mg and 5-FU+S. boulardii4·15 (sem0·73) UMPO/mg); nitrite concentration (control 37·00 (sem2·39) μm, 5-FU 59·04 (sem11·41) μmand 5-FU+S. boulardii37·90 (sem5·78) μm); GSH concentration (control 477·60 (sem25·25) μg/mg, 5-FU 270·90 (sem38·50) μg/mg and 5-FU+S. boulardii514·00 (sem38·64) μg/mg). Treatment with S.Boulardiisignificantly reduced the concentrations of TNF-α and IL-1β by 48·92 and 32·21 % in the jejunum and 38·92 and 61·79 % in the ileum. In addition,S. boulardiidecreased the concentrations of chemokine (C–X–C motif) ligand 1 by 5-fold in the jejunum and 3-fold in the ileum. Interestingly,S. boulardiireduced the delay in gastric emptying (control 25·21 (sem2·55) %, 5-FU 54·91 (sem3·43) % and 5-FU+S. boulardii31·38 (sem2·80) %) and induced the recovery of intestinal permeability (lactulose:mannitol ratio: control 0·52 (sem0·03), 5-FU 1·38 (sem0·24) and 5-FU+S. boulardii0·62 (sem0·03)). In conclusion,S. boulardiireduces the inflammation and dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract in intestinal mucositis induced by 5-FU.

<p>A novel semi-supervised software defect prediction model FFeSSTri (Filtered Feature Selecting, Sample and Tri-training) is proposed to address the problem that class imbalance and too many irrelevant or redundant features in labelled samples lower the accuracy of semi-supervised software defect prediction. Its innovation lies in that the construction of FFeSSTri integrates an oversampling technique, a new feature selection method, and a Tri-training algorithm, thus it can effectively improve the accuracy. Firstly, the oversampling technique is applied to expand the class of inadequate samples, thus it solves the unbalanced classification of the labelled samples. Secondly, a new filtered feature selection method based on relevance and redundancy is proposed, which can exclude those irrelevant or redundant features from labelled samples. Finally, the Tri-training algorithm is used to learn the labelled training samples to build the defect prediction model FFeSSTri. The experiments conducted on the NASA software defect prediction dataset show that FFeSSTri outperforms the existing four supervised learning methods and one semi-supervised learning method in terms of F-Measure values and AUC values.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

A commercially available vegetable oil containing a high concentration (87 %, w/w) of diacylglycerol (DAG) has been investigated in humans and animals for potential beneficial effects in reducing serum TAG concentrations in fasting and postprandial states. Effects of DAG oil as a sole dietary fat source (25 % metabolisable energy) were evaluated in a feline model of hypertriacylglycerolaemia. Eleven adult (1·5 (sem0·1) years) male cats deficient of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) catalytic activity from a heritable point mutation of theLPLgene were acclimatised to a semi-purified diet containing TAG oil for 21 d. After assignment into two groups, pair-matched by serum TAG concentrations (range 6·1–31·6 mmol/l), the cats were fed the diet with either TAG or DAG oil for 8 d. The dietary fat source was crossed-over and presented for 8 d more. Non-fasting serum concentrations of TAG, cholesterol and NEFA were measured on days 6–8 and days 14–16. Dietary fat source (DAGv.TAG) did not significantly affect food intake (491 (sem16)v.486 (sem14) kJ/kg0·67), body weight or serum concentrations (mmol/l) of TAG (37·1 (sem4·5)v.33·9 (sem3·4)), cholesterol (4·8 (sem0·3)v.4·8 (sem0·2)) and NEFA (1·4 (sem0·2)v.1·4 (sem0·2)). The results show that for a feeding trial of 8 d, DAG oil was well accepted and tolerated by cats but did not reduce hypertriacylglycerolaemia resulting from a deficiency of LPL catalytic activity.

Celem artykułu jest pomiar kapitału społecznego oraz określenie jego oddziaływania na rozwój gospodarczy wybranych gospodarek europejskich w latach 2017–2020. W pracy wykorzystano metodę modelowania równań strukturalnych z wykorzystaniem cząstkowych najmniejszych kwadratów (PLS-SEM), która umożliwia pomiar oraz identyfikację związków pomiędzy zmiennymi ukrytymi (bezpośrednio nieobserwowalnymi). Ustalono, że zaufanie społeczne jest bardziej determinowane przez zaufanie interpersonalne niż przez zaufanie względem organizacji. Ponadto stwierdzono, że zaufanie społeczne jest najważniejszym elementem ogólnej miary kapitału społecznego. Mniej ważnym w formowaniu tej zmiennej okazała się zmienna społecznych interakcji i postaw. Ustalono także, że pomiędzy zmiennymi kapitału społecznego i rozwoju gospodarczego występuje silny dodatni i istotny statystycznie związek.

This article presents two semi - rigid connection models commonly used in behavior analysis of semi - rigid connection steel frames subjected to dynamic loads that is the Richard - Abbott model and the Lui - Chen model. Compare the moment and rotation relationship curves of the same connection according to the Richard - Abbott model and the Lui - Chen model. Propose an algorithm to update the stiffness connection to calculate nonlinear semi - rigid connection steel frames. The proposed algorithm is also verified by comparing the results of calculating the semi-rigid linear steel frame using the ASSF calculation program in Mathlab, which created by the authors, with SAP 2000 software. Provide an example of calculation of a nonlinear semi - rigid connected steel frame subjected to dynamic loads and compare the calculation results between the Richard - Abbott model and the Lui - Chen model and give comments and recommendations.

In this paper, we discuss the compatibility conditions on the surfaces of weak and strong discontinuities propagating in continuous semi-isotropic thermoelastic media. To derive such boundary conditions, the well-known Yugonio–Hadamar theory, substantially developed by G. I. Bykovtsev, and generalized to the case of pseudotensor physical fields, is used. The questions of differentiation with respect to pseudoscalar time and its transformation under mirror reflections and space inversions are considered. First-order geometric and kinematic compatibility conditions are obtained in terms of pseudotensors. Compatibility conditions are derived for weak discontinuities of displacements and microrotations in a hemitropic micropolar continuum. Compatibility conditions are obtained for strong discontinuities in a semi-isotropic thermoelastic continuum. В настоящей работе обсуждаются условия совместности на поверхностях слабых и сильных разрывов, распространяющихся в сплошных полуизотропных термоупругих средах. Для вывода таких граничных условий примняется хорошо известная теория Югонио– Адамара, существенно развитая Г.И. Быковцевым, обобщенная на случай псевдотензорных физических полей. Рассматриваются вопросы дифференцирования по псевдоскалярному времени и его преобразования при зеркальных отражениях и инверсиях пространства. Получены геометрические и кинематические условия совместности первого порядка в терминах псевдотензоров. Выведены условия совместности для слабых разрывов перемещений и микровращений в полуизотропном микрополярном континууме. Получены условия совместности на сильных разрывах в полуизотропном термоупругом континууме.

It has become an important factor of deÖning modernization, and instrumentalin speeding up economic growth by ensuring more transparency. After demonetization andemphasis on cashless transaction, digitalized mode of payment is being prioritized. Accord-ingly, government of India launched several schemes focusing on imparting training on digitalliteracy, but research shows that a section of population is still not adopting this digitaliza-tion process. This study tries to Önd the factors responsible for excluding a section of thepeople, especially the people of rural and semi urban area from this digitalized system. Ac-cordingly, a survey was conducted with the bamboo craft man of Raipur cluster of BarpetaDistrict of Assam, India, who is involved in small enterprises involving bamboo crafting.Direct interaction was being done with the respondents regarding the various problems andinconvenience faced in adapting the new system. A logit regression model has been usedto highlight the impact of various socio-economics factors, level of awareness about the newsystem of digitalization on their adaptability to the digitalized mode of payment

The metabolic syndrome (MetS) is associated with an increased risk of cardiac mortality, as it is characterised by the clustering of multiple cardiovascular risk factors. Studies have shown that capsaicin (red pepper) may be useful as a nutraceutical, ameliorating metabolic profile and cardiovascular function. The aim of the present study was to investigate the cardiovascular and metabolic effects of orally administered capsaicin in rats with the MetS. Neonate spontaneously hypertensive rats were injected with monosodium glutamate and subjected to one of the following three treatments by oral administration for 14 d, between 27 and 30 weeks: low-dose capsaicin (CAP05,n18, synthetic capsaicin powder diluted in a vehicle (10 % ethyl alcohol) plus 0·5 mg/kg body weight (BW) of capsaicin); high-dose capsaicin (CAP1,n19, synthetic capsaicin powder diluted in a vehicle (10 % ethyl alcohol) plus 1 mg/kg BW of capsaicin); control (C,n18, vehicle). Lee's index, lipid/metabolic profile, and cardiovascular parameters with the rats being conscious, including arterial pressure (AP) and heart rate (HR) variability, as well as aortic wall thickness (haematoxylin and eosin staining) and CD68 (cluster of differentiation 68) antibody levels (monocyte/macrophage immunostaining) were evaluated. Weight, Lee's index, and lipid and metabolic parameters, as well as AP and HR and aortic wall thickness, were similar between the groups. Capsaicin determined HR variability improvement (16·0 (sem9·0), 31·0 (sem28·2) and 31·3 (sem19·0) ms2for the C, CAP05 and CAP1 groups, respectively,P= 0·003), increased vascular sympathetic drive (low-frequency component of systolic AP variability: 3·3 (sem2·8), 8·2 (sem7·7) and 12·1 (sem8·8) mmHg2for the C, CAP05 and CAP1 groups, respectively,P< 0·001) and increased α-index (spontaneous baroreflex sensitivity). The present data show that capsaicin did not improve lipid and glucose abnormalities in rats with the MetS. However, beneficial cardiovascular effects were observed with this nutraceutical.

Evaluation of soil erosion by existing models is needed as an important tool for managerial purposes in designation of proper water and soil conservation techniques. The present study aimed to assess the applicability of hillslope erosion model (HEM) as one of the newest erosion models for prediction of storm-wise sediment yield in Khosbijan rangeland with 20% slope steepness by using soil erosion standard plots. In order to run the model, runoff depth, land surface cover, soil texture, slope steepness and length were determined for 16 storm events. The results showed that the uncalibrated HEM did not simulate the observed sediment yields properly. Calibration of soil erodibility parameter and developing regression between observed and estimated data indicated that the model was capable of predicting sediment yield in plots by applying soil erodibility parameter of 0.15 with determination coefficient of 0.64 and estimate error of 40%.&nbsp;

We do theoretically study of Modified Semi-Empirical Mass Formula (SEMF) based on macroscopic approach in liquid drop model by considering isospin effects. Isospin is one of internal symmetry properties in hadron group, particularly the nucleon multiplet, it represented by SU(2) isospin group. Hadron is a group of elementary particles take place in the strong interaction. The role of strong interactions represents homogeneous nuclear force, interactions between proton-proton (Fpp) , proton-neutron (Fpn), and neutron-neutron (Fnn) are same. In other words, protons and neutrons are indistinguishable because mass (energy) between protons and neutrons is almost the same, by removing charge between them (charge independent). The dependence of isospin effects on nuclear symmetry term and odd-even (pairing) term made the formulation of SEMF should be modificated, in order to obtain nuclear mass and binding energy of a nucleus close to the experimental results. We do two accuracy testing. First, by comparing |Mexp - Mth| for nuclei Pb82208 using SEMF before and after being modified, the result shows that using SEMF before modification the value of |Mexp - Mth|≈ 0,0204 u and for modified SEMF we obtained |Mexp - Mth|≈ 0,0203 u at k=12 . The value of |Mexp - Mth| for modified SEMF is smaller than before modification, it indicates that Modified SEMF is a good formula to calculate the mass of nuclei. Second, by comparing Modified SEMF with other models such as FRDM, HFB-14, and HFB-17 using accuracy parameter in the form of rms deviation and number of model parameters ). The results show that rms deviation decrease 21% to 0,516 and number of model parameters ) decrease to 15, consists of 13 macroscopic model parameters and two microscopic model parameters and �). The value of model parameters was obtained by fitting to experimental results, as a reason it is called semi-empiric.

Abstract. Kalman filters are widely used for data assimilation into ocean models. The aim of this study is to discuss the relevance of these filters with high resolution ocean models. This was investigated through the comparison of two advanced Kalman filters: the singular evolutive extended Kalman (SEEK) filter and its ensemble-based variant, called SEIK filter. The two filters were implemented with the Princeton Ocean model (POM) considering a low spatial resolution configuration (Mediterranean sea model) and a very high one (Pagasitikos Gulf coastal model). It is shown that the two filters perform reasonably well when applied with the low resolution model. However, when the high resolution model is considered, the behavior of the SEEK filter seriously degrades because of strong model nonlinearities while the SEIK filter remains remarkably more stable. Based on the assumption of prior Gaussian distributions, the linear analysis step of the latter can still be improved though.

AbstractWe build a theoretical picture of how the light from galaxies evolves across cosmic time. In particular, we predict the evolution of the galaxy spectral energy distribution (SED) by carefully integrating the star formation and metal enrichment histories of semi-analytic model (SAM) galaxies and combining these with stellar population synthesis models which we call mentari. Our SAM combines prescriptions to model the interplay between gas accretion, star formation, feedback process, and chemical enrichment in galaxy evolution. From this, the SED of any simulated galaxy at any point in its history can be constructed and compared with telescope data to reverse engineer the various physical processes that may have led to a particular set of observations. The synthetic SEDs of millions of simulated galaxies from mentari can cover wavelengths from the far UV to infrared, and thus can tell a near complete story of the history of galaxy evolution.
