Résumé :
In these proceedings, we review recent theoretical progress on jet substructure at the colliders. Focusing on two observables – jet mass and groomed jet radius, we perform theoretical computations for jets measured in the single inclusive jet production in proton-proton collisions, pp → jet + X. We consider both standard ungroomed jets as well as soft-drop groomed jets. Within the Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET), we establish QCD factorization theorems which allow for the joint resummation of several classes of logarithmic corrections to all orders in the strong coupling constant. We present numerical results and compare with the available data from the LHC.

Résumé :
AbstractWe study the link between parton dynamics in the collinear limit and the logarithmically enhanced terms of the groomed jet mass distribution, for jets groomed with the modified mass-drop tagger (mMDT). While the leading-logarithmic (LL) result is linked to collinear evolution with leading-order splitting kernels, here we derive the NLL structure directly from triple-collinear splitting kernels. The calculation we present is a fixed-order calculation in the triple-collinear limit, independent of resummation ingredients and methods. It therefore constitutes a powerful cross-check of the NLL results previously derived using the SCET formalism and provides much of the insight needed for resummation within the traditional QCD approach.

Résumé :
Abstract Employing the systematic framework of soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) we perform an improved calculation of the leading-power contributions to the double radiative Bd,s-meson decay amplitudes in the heavy quark expansion by including the perturbative resummation of enhanced logarithms of mb/ΛQCD at the next-to-leading-logarithmic accuracy. We then construct the QCD factorization formulae for the subleading power contributions arising from the energetic photon radiation off the constituent light-flavour quark of the bottom meson at tree level. Furthermore, we explore the factorization properties of the subleading power correction from the effective SCET current "Image missing" at $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\alpha}_s^0\right) $$ O α s 0 by virtue of the operator identities due to the classical equations of motion. The higher-twist contributions to the Bd,s→ γγ helicity form factors from the two-particle and three-particle bottom-meson distribution amplitudes are evaluated with the perturbative factorization technique, up to the twist-six accuracy. In addition, the subleading power weak-annihilation contributions from both the current-current and QCD penguin operators are taken into account at the one-loop accuracy. We proceed to apply the operator-production-expansion-controlled dispersion relation for estimating the power-suppressed soft contributions to the double radiative Bd,s-meson decay form factors, which cannot be factorized into the light-cone distribution amplitudes of the heavy-meson and the resolved photon as well as the hard-scattering kernel calculable in perturbation theory canonically. Phenomenological explorations of the radiative Bd,s→ γγ decay observables in the presence of the neutral-meson mixing, including the CP-averaged branching fractions, the polarization fractions and the time-dependent CP asymmetries, are carried out subsequently with an emphasis on the numerical impacts of the newly computed ingredients together with the theory uncertainties from the shape parameters of the HQET bottom-meson distribution amplitudes.

Résumé :
Abstract We present the analytic formula for the Energy-Energy Correlation (EEC) in electron-positron annihilation computed in perturbative QCD to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N3LO) in the back-to-back limit. In particular, we consider the EEC arising from the annihilation of an electron-positron pair into a virtual photon as well as a Higgs boson and their subsequent inclusive decay into hadrons. Our computation is based on a factorization theorem of the EEC formulated within Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) for the back-to-back limit. We obtain the last missing ingredient for our computation — the jet function — from a recent calculation of the transverse-momentum dependent fragmentation function (TMDFF) at N3LO. We combine the newly obtained N3LO jet function with the well known hard and soft function to predict the EEC in the back-to-back limit. The leading transcendental contribution of our analytic formula agrees with previously obtained results in $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. We obtain the N = 2 Mellin moment of the bulk region of the EEC using momentum sum rules. Finally, we obtain the first resummation of the EEC in the back-to-back limit at N3LL′ accuracy, resulting in a factor of ∼ 4 reduction of uncertainties in the peak region compared to N3LL predictions.

Résumé :
The lectures that appear within this chapter provide an introduction to soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). It begins by discussing resummation for soft-photon effects in QED, including soft photons in electron–electron scattering and the expansion of loop integrals and the method of regions event-shape variables. It then covers SCET specifically, including the method of regions for the Sudakov form factor, effective Lagrangians, the vector current in SCET, and resummation by renormalization group (RG) evolution. It covers applications of SCET in jet physics, describes the characteristic feature in jet processes of Sudakov logarithms, and discusses factorization for the event-shape variable thrust and factorization and resummation for jet cross sections.
