Structural engineers and asset managers rely on measurable parameters developed by researchers to predict residual load-bearing capacities of corroding in-service RC structures and to assess repair-effectiveness. Laboratory research that was used to develop these measurable parameters varied between researchers and in most cases, did not represent in-service conditions. As a result, they found different relations between measurable and non-measurable parameters which are unsafe and/or engineers find difficult to apply to in-service structures. A holistic research that emulates in-service conditions was therefore developed. Parameters that were looked at were corrosion crack widths and longitudinal strains together with their derivatives.

The current building design codes are generally based on a strength-based design philosophy. A building designed according to such approaches has unpredictable seismic responses. Performance-based design approaches, which are recognized as advanced design methods for the next generation, allow engineers to design a building with the pre-determined structural performance objectives under varying seismic hazard levels. A key element to a successful performance-based design is an adequately defined framework of performance limit states. In addition, a direct approach to accurately identify the performance limit states of structures with different designs is also necessary when implementing the performance-based design. The object of this article is to propose a model for predicting the displacement demands associated with the performance limit states of RC structural walls. The model is developed using regression analysis on the extensive seismic responses obtained using 3D finite element RC structural wall models. Existing experimental results of RC structural walls under cyclic loading are employed to validate the proposed model. The comparisons between the experimental results and the predicted solutions show good agreements.

We try to find the relationship between GCRA and Leaky Bucket Scheme.Specially, their parameters transformation in ATM layer are of interested.And exactly parameter transformation and approximated methods in different conditions are funded. In ATM network, bursty traffic sources are the main reasons to case traffic jame. RC traffic shaper can shape clumping cells to avoid network congestioneffectively. We implement a performance parameter main window and RC traffic shaper by software to shape and monitor traffic sources. Performance parameter main window can monitor the whole networks, thus they will function well.

This study construct a database of beam-column connections made with normal- and high-strength reinforced concrete. Test data of beam-column connections with transverse beams and slabs are collected. We selected the data with complete story shear versus drift curves and specimen detailing which can be back calculated the connection parameters and evaluated the seismic performance. Based on the database investigation, we conclude: (1) Where the column-to-beam moment strength ratio exceed 2 for interior joints and 4 for exterior joints, the joints would not failed in shear; (2) The shear stress limitation given in ACI code can prevent joint shear failure before beam yielding; (3) The amount of joint transverse reinforcement can be reduced by half in an interior joint confined all four faces, where the joint perform quite well if the shear stress is below the code-specified value; (4) The use of anchorage length in place of column depth for the calculation of joint effective depth could make the data have a higher joint shear stress ratio and a more conservative distribution to exclude joint shear failure before beam yielding; (5) The exterior joint data met the code requirements of anchorage length in the joint and joint shear stress performed well in beam flexure failure mode. The code-specified development length for hooked or headed bars in the joint are conservative. The code requirement of minimum column depth of 20 times bar diameter along the column depth seems to be acceptable for available data. The development length for high-strength reinforcement in the joint should be further studied.

In generally, For most structure, For applying the ambient vibration measurements to conduct the system identification of civil structures, it is most popular to first adopt the random decrement method to transfer an output signal into a free vibration history. Any convenient time-domain method can then be utilized to identify the modal parameters. In this study, using mode shapes concept and multiple random decrement (MRD) method to reach convergence of modal, and numerical example and system modal parameters are knowed by using free ambient vibration to test and verify its utility. Firstly, we makes a prestressed RC beam with rectangular section. And control the different cases of prestress loss by releasing tendons. For applying the vibration measurements to conduct the system identification of beam in different cases of prestress loss and discusses the related dynamic parameter of the modal frequencies and the damping ratio.
