Aim of present study was to evaluate quality of three collected sets of canola oil containing crude oil, neutralized oil, bleached oil, deodorized oil and canola oil deodorizer distillate (DD) form three different edible oil processing industries. Physiochemical properties such as moisture, color, free fatty acid (FFA), acid value (AV), peroxide value (PV), p-Anisidine value (AV), total oxidative (totox) value, saponification value (SV), iodine value (IV), unsaponifiable matter and soap content were evaluated. The results of the present study indicated that each stage of processing has different impact on the determined quality parameters. Overall processing was well controlled and final product i.e. refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) canola oil was found to be fit for human consumption. Only soap contents should be further controlled during neutralization process to avoid extra processing time and losses in the bleaching process. High FFA contents in DD samples indicated that it could be used as a potential and cheap source for biodiesel production.

Résumé :
- In an environment with increasing competition, the importance of taking care of customers through marketing, high quality service and after sale support has been shown to be crucial for getting competitive advantage. In spite of the clear evidence that technical innovations are not, by themselves, a guarantee of business success, a high number of firms in Italy seem not to pay attention to those factors affecting the level of perceived quality and still invest only in technical change and new equipment. In this paper, taking into account the Swedish experience in terms of industrial policy, we develop an analytical framework useful for a policy toward marketing innovation. Résumé :
Because data is an important factor in the software industry, how to reliably test data is important. This is even more essential for building Industry 4.0 and smart industrial complexes. This study prepares ISO/IEC 25024-based test methods and guidelines and uses them for energy management at the industrial complex level. In order to provide services by collecting energy data from industrial complexes, it is necessary to verify data quality based on data reliability and compatibility of each plant. Data quality technology needs to conform to ISO TC184/SC4/WG13 (industrial data quality standard) based technology. The study defines the data quality evaluation matrix for the energy management system of industrial parks and factories. It defines five categories and maps detailed indicators to each. The category has three detailed items, which are evaluation items for core requirements, interoperability, and conformity to standards. Each data requirement category covers functionality and reliability, usability and efficiency, and portability as data requirements in the system. Core requirements for system operation such as data consistency are basic evaluation items, and interoperability, which is the semantic compatibility of data for integrated operation of multiple sites, is verified. In addition, data quality is evaluated by verifying standard conformance. Through this evaluation system, the requirements for linking the factory energy management system data with the industrial complex energy management system can be evaluated. This can be used to monitor data quality and develop improvement technologies by developing a master data quality management technology standard suitable for industrial sites.

Efficiency is a parameter to measure performance quality of a company or agency, including manufacture industrial. One of tools was used to measure technical efficiency is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). This article attempts to investigate the existence of difference technical efficiency between sub sector in manufacture industry in Indonesia period 1990-2002 using DEA. This estimation result discovered that the generally performance of manufacture sector industrial in Indonesia growth in spanning perception 1990 and 2002 relative stabilize altought have decrease percentage of efficiency in economic crisis. On the contrary, these conditions do not followed by disparity efficiency growth between sub sectors which exactly experience of negative growth at perception period. The fact sign that policy strategy industrialize during the time not improve yet high level productivity, but on the other hand policy strategy industrialize during the time have enough succeeded to develop equity level between sub sector in manufacture industry

Résumé :
AbstractDNA barcoding methods originally developed for the identification of plant specimens have been applied to the authentication of herbal drug materials for industrial quality assurance. These methods are intended to be complementary to current morphological and chemical methods of identification. The adoption of these methods by industry will be accelerated by the introduction of DNA-based identification techniques into regulatory standards and monographs. The introduction of DNA methods into the British Pharmacopoeia is described, along with a reference standard for use as a positive control for DNA extraction and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A general troubleshooting chart is provided to guide the user through the problems that may be encountered during this process. Nevertheless, the nature of the plant materials and the demands of industrial quality control procedures mean that conventional DNA barcoding is not the method of choice for industrial quality control. The design of DNA barcode-targeted quantitative PCR and high resolution melt curve tests is one strategy for developing rapid, robust, and reliable protocols for high-throughput screening of raw materials. The development of authentication tests for wild-harvested Rhodiola rosea L. is used as a case study to exemplify these relatively simple tests. By way of contrast, the application of next-generation sequencing to create a complete profile of all the biological entities in a mixed herbal drug is described and its potential for industrial quality assurance discussed.

Résumé :
A brown sugar process technology [BST] was developed using a simple batch system and a local clarifier at the National Cereals Research Institute [NCRI], Badeggi. The quality characteristics of the brown sugar produced from the technology were studied. Where necessary and feasible the brown sugar quality was compared to industrial brown sugars. The bulk density, solubility, particle size, brix percentage, pH, Pol%, soluble and insoluble fractions, water sorption properties, proximate composition, microbial load and organoleptic properties of the sugar were evaluated. The results showed that the brown sugar had 82.87% solubility as compared to 85.80 and 72.73% of industrial samples. The bulk density was 0.88g/cm3 as compared to 0.82 and 0.95g/cm3. The particle size ranged from 600µm-10mm with 53% passing through 600µm-1.18mm. The moisture sorption studies showed that the brown sugar exhibited a sigmoid shaped structure with monolayer moisture content of 0.63gH20 while the surface area was 0.0036x10M2 /g solid. There was no apparent presence of fibre but ash content was high [10.00%] while protein as expected was very low [0.26%]. The microbial load was low 20x103 cfu/g while feacal pollution was not observed. The NCRI brown sugar was preferred to the industrial samples and had an acceptability score of 4 in a 5-point-hedonic scale.
