Résumé :
Purpose – This paper highlights the challenges and key arguments for digital copyright protection legislation for creative industries. Design/methodology/approach – This briefing is prepared by independent academics who place the arguments in context based upon literature and market data. Findings – Many of the arguments used against copyright protection laws draw upon flawed analysis. Artistic creators should be treated fairly and their work should be afforded the same protection as other property. Practical implications – Digital legislation warrants review, but not for the frequently cited reasons of “stifling innovation” or “restriction” of others using the work. Rather, artists need better protection for their work and fairer treatment with regards their property rights. Originality/value – The paper provides context and practical insights into the data used to influence policy decision makers, providing a stronger case for legislative review.

Résumé :
The conception of Corporate Social Responsibility has continued to gain a lengthy discussion in all aspects of corporate finance with a particular focus on its contributing to financial performance. Despite its prominence globally, many companies have not embraced the concept, as most of them have remained doubtful about its contribution to corporate financial performance. Several companies have digressed the idea to merely an aspect of charity and cost instead of cost reduction and market creation. The fixed-effect model of panel data analysis was applied for the study period from 2010 to 2019 to measure relationships on CSR’s effect on the financial performance of listed companies in Kenya. The study used panel data for the years 2010–2019. The research used trend analysis for ten years to analyse data using canonical correlations, Logistic Regression analysis and ARIMA models to establish relationships among the variables of the study. Our results offer new evidence on the linearity effect of CSR on financial performance suggest that Corporate Social Responsibilities activities are very vital influencers of firm value, as they have a positive influence on the financial performance of companies.

Résumé :
This study is devoted to the analysis of the current state of legislation of Ukraine and EU countries on copyright protection of works with an unstable form of expression, as well as to determine the features of the legal protection of such objects. The purpose of the article was to explore the existing possibilities in the law of Ukraine and the law of the EU countries for the protection of works with an unstable form of their expression. The article, based on the analysis of international legal acts and national legislation, highlights the elements of protection of works. A significant place in work is devoted to the analysis of theoretical, legislative approaches to the definition of "creativity", "originality", "novelty". It is stated that there is no single waste to the definition of these concepts in the literature and not regulated in the legislation in the field of copyright. A comparative legal analysis of the case-law of the United Kingdom and the United States on the provision of legal protection to works with an unstable form. It is concluded that the normative definition of “creative work”, which is associated exclusively with works of cultural value, is not acceptable for copyright. The article analyses the judicial practice of Ukraine, which has developed in the definition of creative work and illustrates its ambiguity. It is concluded that judges, considering such cases, try to find some stable elements that are inherent in works with an unstable form of expression.

Résumé :
The purpose of the study is to identify the expediency and validity of creating a certain category of Nature Reserve Fund (NRF) in the specific conditions of the urban environment in accordance with the functions and criteria established by the current legislation of Ukraine on the example of Partyzans’ka Slava Regional Landscape Park (RLP) in Kyiv. To achieve this goal, the peculiarities of urban protected areas creation in accordance with the criteria and tasks established are considered. Materials and methods. The following research algorithm is applied to determine the conformity of the Partyzans’ka slava RLP (henceforth: Park) territory to the requirements, according to legislative and regulatory documents. A Digital Elevation Model had been developed and after its filtering, a hypsometric map was constructed. Based on the obtained relief morphometric parameters, collected information, analysis of satellite images and field studies, using the GIS software packages, a landscape structure map of the RLP territory was been created. Main research results. A significant inconsistency of the RLP functioning with the existing requirements and its actual transformation into an ordinary shopping and entertainment complex is revealed. The fulfilment of the main functions of the Park for 25 years from the moment of granting the status of a nature conservation institution of local importance is analysed. Unsatisfactory implementation of the legal objectives of RLP creation, including huge disproportions in the allocation of functional zones is established. Unreasonable Park zoning leads, among other things, to illegal construction, land grabbing and deforestation throughout its territory. In addition, the actual absence of a reserved functional zone in no way contributes to the Park’s fulfilment of its tasks as an institution of the NRF of Ukraine. For a quarter of a century, no special administration has been established in the Park. That means that the RLP does not have a statutory management body. As a result of a governing body absence, Project for its territory organization is not updated and approved in the Park. The species diversity of flora and fauna of the Park turned out to be quite poor. Also, none of the typical and rare plant groups included in the Green Book of Ukraine has been discovered on the Park territory. Due to insufficient provision of the conditions for the population organized rest, uncontrolled recreation violated the integrity of the soil and vegetation, and the whole territory of the RLP is heavily littered. Based on the revealed problems of the RLP functioning, a weak perception of the Park status by the society is substantiated, which contributes to the further degradation of natural complexes and makes it inappropriate to keep its territory as a nature protected institution of the NRF of Ukraine. The scientific novelty of the study is to carry out landscape analysis and to create a map of the Park territory landscape structure for the first time. The analysis of this map allows refuting the idea of high landscape value within the Park. Practical value. Considering that none of the legal functions of the RLP has been performed for a long time, it is proposed to improve the management quality of this protected area by integrating it into the urban infrastructure. It is justified to review the Park’s conservation status and its transfer from the category of NRF institution to a regular urban culture and recreation park with increased access for visitors in order to ensure their daily contact with nature. At the same time, valuable natural objects, in particular centenary trees, must be preserved and protected. According to the concept of nature and the city organic unity, such a park will contribute to the creation of an urbanized space that is comfortable for residents and safe for the environment.

Résumé :
Innovations have the potential to create value by generating rents (primary appropriability), or they can be used as background knowledge for further innovations and value creation (generative appropriability). Because these possibilities exist, organisations need to make strategic decisions on knowledge sharing with their partners in collaborative innovation. In best cases, primary and generative appropriability are complementarities rather than alternatives: Knowledge sharing with partners for new innovation could be made safer using formal and informal isolating appropriability mechanisms that improve controllability, thereby preserving rent generation possibilities and simultaneously allowing safe knowledge exchange. We use a quantitative sample of 209 Finnish firms to examine how different formal and informal appropriability mechanisms relate to value capture and creation, and whether these relationships are affected by the strategic goal to reduce imitation of competitors or to improve safe knowledge sharing to partners.

In this thesis, we have studied the phenomena of value co-creation in IoT ecosystem, while considering the potential impacts of GDPR on IT value co-creation in the IoT ecosystem. IT firms’ ability to create value is an important aspect of their existence and growth in which case they pursuit different and several means to accomplish this task. IT firms that operate within the IoT ecosystem are categorised as Enablers, Engagers, and Enhancers who interact, work together to provide the technology and services needed to both market the IoT and to deploy it for their own business operations. These actors usually deem it necessary to create value through a co-creation process with customers in order to create well needed, tailored and up-to-date IoT solutions. In such case, customers’ data play a significant role in the development process. Through computer analysis, these data can reveal insightful information that can lead to the creation of relevant and appropriate IT solutions. However, the EU new and upcoming General Data Protection Regulation stand to have some impacts on this creative process, by regulating data practices in technological activities, thereby, creating several concerns among the IT community.

Résumé :
This thesis is based on a related set of nine papers I published between 2004 and 2010. Six of these papers are sole authored and I was the lead author for the three joint authored papers. Four underlying themes are identified which underpin the research I have done. Firstly, market entry through the dot com model which was covered in my first published paper (Laffey, 2004). This paper identified my second research theme, network effects in entrepreneurial markets, covered in Laffey (2005.; 2007b) which examined gambling markets and my third theme, the importance of search and paid click concepts, analysed in Laffey (2007a), Laffey and Sharp (2008) and Laffey et al (2009). My third theme of search then led naturalIy to my final theme, the development of online value creation concepts, which was explored through research into comparison websites (Laffey, 2009c, 2010; Laffey and Gandy, 2009b). The thesis shows how these research themes emerged through the selected papers, how they have developed into my current research and how they offer opportunities for further research. Page

Résumé :
This thesis is about creating a better understanding of value creation. It proposes 'the value cube', a new framework to describe, how organisations should align and manage their operations, resources, capabilities and competencies with their value propositions to create value. This thesis started with an exploratory analysis in value; as a result several unsolved issues, inconsistencies and weaknesses of current solutions were identified. Based on those, this research proposed two value dimensions - Hard and Soft Value. The value matrix was created by bringing together the two value dimensions and the propositions from Treacy and Wiersema (1996). As a result, six value propositions emerged, To describe the functionality of each value proposition in greater depth, the value matrix was extended into a cube: 'the value cube'. Empirical evidence provided through eight case studies and a workshop-study validates the value cube, establishes the appropriate unit of analysis an d the value cube's footprints. The five research questions of this research conclude that: (1) Value can be deployed in 'hard value' and 'soft value'. (2) The six value propositions of the value cube are valid and two of them 'simplifiers' and 'socialisors' are novel. Thus, the value propositions of the value cube offer a wider scope and flexibility than current frameworks, to describe and/or classify business performance. (3) The value cube can be applied to 'business unit level' or 'whole organisation'; however the application of the value cube at business unit level seems to be more sensible. (4) Therefore, a single organisation can have more than one value proposition. (5) The value cube provides general guidelines or 'footprints' of value creation for its six value propositions. From the beginning of this research, criteria for the evaluation of the quality of the research were developed. demonstrate that this research has satisfactory fulfilled the criteria. Consequently, this Consequently, this research reached the quality standards of constructive/pure research.

Résumé :
Current marketing literature, regardless of its underlying paradigm/logic, lacks consensus on how to conceptualise value creation, how to define what it entails, along with by whom, how, where and when it is created (Voima et al., 2010). It is no surprise then that the value creation process is often described as a ‘black box’ (Grönroos, 2011b; Leroy et al., 2013). In this doctoral research the customer’s perspective on value creation has been advocated. Research was conducted using mixed methods in the context of digital camera usage. It was found that value creation process consists of inputs (resources, customer and other socio-economic actors), 5 value creation phases (this is actually the content of black box: usage episode initiation, resource selection, resource adjustment, resource integration and evaluation) and outputs (side effects and value-in-use as a mix of instrumental benefits, experiential benefits, symbolic benefits and sacrifices;). Simultaneously to value creation, each consumption episode provides an opportunity for customer’s episodic learning that can result in customer’s augmented or new knowledge, skills and experience. Research found value to be episodic phenomenon, while value creation consistent with Roggeveen et al. (2012), was found to be cyclical and non-linear, showing how unpredictable the unique value creation path of an individual customer can be. This indicates that a value creation episode can evolve in unique ways depending on the sequence of value creation phases, given that customers may revisit already visited value creation phases (unless resources are not destroyed). In this way, while the study acknowledges the idiosyncrasies of individual customers’ approaches, on the other hand, it provides a theoretically structured view of this inherently idiosyncratic process.

Résumé :
Purpose: The aim of the research is to investigate what successful booksellers provide in store that increase interaction and thereby enhance perceived value for the customers. Approach: The study is based on a combination of using both quantitative and qualitative data, collected through questionnaire and through face-to-face interviews. A deductive approach has constituted the paper as the theoretical framework was constructed upon already existing theories. Findings: The investigated booksellers are working with all of the three interaction facilitators; servicescape, shopping event as well as employee competence to create interaction in store that thereafter through relating, communicating and knowing increase the customer perceived value. The success behind the booksellers is based on their niche and personal approach that is thoroughly implemented in their offerings, which will create a community feeling. The personal relationship with the customers gives a structural support for the communication that in the end increase the knowledge. However, the knowledge renewal was more vital for the employees in order to provide personal service. Practical implications: Brick-and-mortar stores should fully acknowledge the importance of interacting with customers, by implementing servicescape, shopping event and employee competence with a personal touch. It is important to be as physical as possible and use the store as a social meeting place. The store should create a unique atmosphere, where like-minded customers socialize. The employee competence is vital for the brick-and-mortar stores in order to provide personal service. Theoretical implications: Grönroos and Voima’s (2012) Value creation sphere-model was extended by integrating Ballantyne and Varey’s (2006) triangulated value-enable-model into the joint sphere of Grönroos and Voima’s (2012) model. Since both of the models were tested empirically the paper supplies empirical evidence for both of the theoretical models.

Résumé :

Background

Historically speaking, marketing and entrepreneurship has been looked upon as something distinct without any clear relationship. However, in recent years studies on the relationship between marketing and entrepreneurship has increased significantly. Marketers are neither innovative nor entrepreneurial enough in their way of thinking and making decisions. All successful entrepreneurial businesses are based on well thought through marketing. Successful businesses are those who manage to engage in entrepreneurial activities and consider marketing as an important part of that success. The key is marketing and not the product or service.

Purpose

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and evaluate the entrepreneurial process of marketing a newly started venture, towards the end customer, and how the entrepreneur views the role and importance of marketing in future success.

Method

In order to fulfil the purpose an analysis has been conducted through a holistic multicase study. The cases included inkClub and Cinnober Financial Technology, Two entrepreneurs and their companies which received the awards Entrepreneur of the year and Super Gazell from Ernst & Young and Dagens Industri. These awards are given to entrepreneurs and companies who are characterized by entrepreneurship and growth.

Conclusion

After analysing the empirical data with regards to the theory conclusions could be drawn. The study showed that through exploiting market opportunities entrepreneurs could market themselves in a way that suits the company as well as the potential customers.

There is also a strong correlation between entrepreneurship and marketing and being able to intertwine these two is the key to finding novel ways of marketing. The study also showed that there are some characteristics that fit all entrepreneurs but it is impossible to find a set of characteristics that fits all.

Résumé :
AbstractTitleValue Creation of Mobile CouponsBackgroundCoupons have been around for years in traditional paper form where they have for instance been found in grocery stores located directly by the product they offer a discount on. Lately, mobile phones have come to play a greater part of our lives where they are also getting integrated into activities we conduct. This has been of interest for the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry where integration of the mobile phone has arisen to a new phenomenon: mobile coupons that can be transmitted to the mobile phone instead of using traditional paper coupons.PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine if and how mobile coupons can create value for Kuponginlösen and its partners.MethodEmpirical data has been collected through interviews, which in turn have been analyzed with a theoretical framework consisting of the Business Model by Amit and Zott (2001).ResultsMobile coupons provide value, not just for Kuponginlösen, but also to its partners consisting of FMCG manufacturers, convenience store chains, food chains, DLF, Mobilab, and GS1. Mobile coupons are an efficient way of distributing offers and complement traditional coupons. Although the popularity of mobile coupons will continue to increase significantly, as for today, they account for a small part of the total coupon market in Sweden.KeywordsMobile coupons, value creation, Kuponginlösen, FMCG industry, m-commerce

In value creating contexts, customers often have to be clear about the roles they are required to perform (Kleinaltenkamp et al., 2012; Bitner et al., 1997), and may be required to develop their knowledge and skills in order to participate (Hibbert et al., 2012). This typically necessitates the ability to use and integrate resources in exchange encounters containing social and economic actors (Kleinaltenkamp et al., 2012; Hibbert et al., 2012; Arnould et al., 2006; Sheth and Uslay, 2007) to co-create value for each other (Vargo and Lusch, 2008; Payne et al., 2008). This research adds to the burgeoning literature on customer resource integration that calls for more insights into the roles of customers in creating their own value (Hibbert et al., 2012; Kleinaltenkamp et al., 2012; Arnould et al., 2006). This can help firms to develop an appreciation of the customer value process and design co-creation activities that can support their customers’ capability to create value (Vargo, 2007; Vargo and Lusch, 2004; 2008; Sheth and Uslay, 2007; Prahalad and Ramaswamy, 2004; Payne et al., 2008; Frow et al., 2010). The research has indicated that customers learning styles in do-it-yourself activities reflected learning styles represented in experiential learning theory (ELT) (Kolb, 1984). ELT stipulates that individuals learn by experiencing, reflecting, thinking, and acting. Knowledge is seen as a transformation of experience along two continua: (1) how individuals best grasp experiences (i.e., concrete experience versus abstract conceptualisation), and (2) how individuals best transform experiences (i.e., reflective observation versus active experimentation). The study identified five distinct learning styles adopted by DIY members, which differ along these two continua and are reflective or active-orientated. Adhering to existing typologies, these were labelled as Diverging, Assimilating, Converging, Accommodating, and Balancing styles and helped shape customers’ learning self-management and self-regulation processes and use of learning resources.

Résumé :
business so that it begins to operate on the principles of sustainability, ensure the implementation of a sustainable development strategy, and contribute to creating value for the organization and society. Searching for options to establish long-term stable businesses in an unstable environment, organizations began exploring the benefits of the concept of sustainable development and ways to integrate it at all levels of government in a relatively short period of time. By deciding to integrate the concept of sustainable development into their business strategies, organizations contribute to the co-creation of value because each individual in the business system acts in such a way as to minimize the harmful impact and maximize the positive impact of business activities on society and the environment. The research examined the contribution of sustainable project management to value creation through project results, which establishes a balance between satisfying the expectations of clients and other stakeholders and achieving economic goals while contributing to social well-being and environmental protection.

Résumé :
Abstract Between January 2015 and early 2021, about 76 of the approximately 2,160 small-to-medium independent companies in the tight oil sector filed for Chapter 11 protection. These filings mostly occurred in 2016 and 2019. These companies were negatively impacted by the low oil prices in these years owing to their lack of financial discipline and poor financial risk assessments. As a result, they declared bankruptcy. News outlets tend to amplify bankruptcy filing announcements in the oil and gas sector. Nevertheless, our analysis shows that these bankruptcy declarations do not imply that the shale oil and gas sector collapsed. The ailing operators in 2019 were responsible for about 8.5% of total tight oil production in the United States. This volume did not disappear from the market because of the Chapter 11 provisions. Instead, the ailing operators either became more efficient and financially disciplined or transferred their assets to more efficient operators. Over 33 independent companies have ultimately emerged from bankruptcy. These companies successfully reached debt restructuring resolutions with their investors, transferred equity ownership to investors or sold or leased their assets to other operators. Companies that failed to adapt exited the oil market through either liquidation or acquisitions by other companies. Going forward, more consolidations are expected in the shale industry, especially among medium-to-large independent producers that accrued large debts in previous years. These producers will either enter bankruptcy owing to financial headwinds and market uncertainty or be acquired by larger companies. This analysis shows that bankruptcies in the tight oil sector may be viewed positively or negatively depending on the situation and perspective. Bankruptcies do incur different types of costs and losses to many parties. However, consolidation that improves the efficiency of resource allocation can be viewed as a positive sign for the economy. Operators, equity owners, debtors-in-possession and the oil and gas industry can therefore view bankruptcies within the industry differently.

Shimbo, Aki, Amna Javed, Hideomi Gokon et Youji Kohda. « Value creation through third-party certification - Case study of phase-free certification for certifying disaster prevention ». Dans 13th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2022). AHFE International, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.54941/ahfe1002557.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
The purpose of this research is to clarify how third-party certification creates value by looking at a case study of third-party certification. An application of the “phase free” concept is discussed as an example of how third-party certification generates value. Disaster prevention is a typical social issue that diverse members of society must proactively confront. It is, however, considered an uncertain cost by many people, wherein preparing for disasters is not an entrenched practice. “Phase free” is a concept originating in Japan that aims to encourage consumers to purchase products and services that are useful in the event of disasters by providing phase-free certification of such products and services. For example, a plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle can be used as a battery when parked. Even though this power storage function is not recognized at normal times, it will be very useful in the event of a disaster. Phase free, thus, refers to the concept of "deriving considerable benefit during times of emergencies from products and services used in everyday life."Generally, third-party certification is considered to bring about a positive effect on eliminating the asymmetry of information, such as by guaranteeing the quality of products and services in the market, by strengthening a company's competitiveness, and by enhancing reliability. However, due to the considerable economic and time burden imposed on producers in complying with strict standards and the lack of understanding among consumers about the value of certification, the use of certification marks has not gained sufficient traction. There are cases, however, in which third-party authentication is considered to have led to the creation of value. For example, non-fungible tokens (NFT) are also seen to be creating new value by allowing third parties to certify (endorse) value using block chain technology. Phase-free certification, like NFT, appears to be successful in creating value. This study elucidates the features of value creation through phase-free certification by looking into the activities of the Phase Free Association (https://phasefree.or.jp/), which carries out third-party certification. The target of the study is the "School Education Initiatives in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture," which was certified by the Phase Free Association in 2021 (Gold Prize winner at the Phase Free Award 2021). An interview with representatives of the Phase Free Association was conducted to clarify how the "value of disaster prevention" is embedded in school education. An analysis was conducted focusing on the benefits that school officials, parents, government officials, and other stakeholders gain from this embedded value of disaster prevention. The study clarifies how balance is achieved between normal-time value (teaching the prescribed school education curriculum) and disaster-time value (protecting children from disasters), as well as investigates the mechanism behind the value-creation process. This study, therefore, contributes to research on third-party certification through analysis of a case of phase-free certification that has succeeded in providing value related to disaster prevention to school education, which is an intangible service.

Résumé :
The creation of artificial linear plants takes a leading role in our country. Linear plants begin to influence crops from the moment they are seeding. The bioproductivity of artificial phytocenoses is influenced by the degree of afforestation of fields, where a close relationship is manifested between the indicator of forest cover of arable land and crop yield. With an afforestation of agroforestry landscapes of 1.50%, the yield of winter wheat is 28.0 c / ha, and with an increase in the number of plantations on arable land to 2.00%, the yield is 32.3 c / ha; 2.50% - 35.6 centners / ha; 3.00% - 36.6 c / ha and 3.50% - 37.0 c / ha. A similar pattern is observed in indicators among forest belts where barley grows. With an afforestation of 1.50%, the yield is 22.8 centners / ha; 2.00% - 27.3 c / ha; 2.50% - 30.0 c / ha; 3.00% - 32.1 c / ha and 3.25% -32.1 c / ha. The average yield increase for every 0.25% of forest cover for winter wheat is 0.4 - 2.4 c / ha, for barley, respectively, 0.6 - 3.6 c / ha. With indicators of 3.2%, statistically distinguishable values are no longer observed. In the Bogucharsky district, the number of preserved protective plantations is 2250 hectares, the forest cover of arable land is 1.87%. Bringing to the calculated optimal value will allow to have 3826 hectares of artificial crops on arable land, and at the same time it is necessary to carry out additional afforestation work on an area of 1576 hectares.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
The multiscale structure of spider silk is widely studied because of its superior mechanical properties. Its high tenacity allows the absorption of the kinetic energy of fast and large preys. The mechanism of sacrificial bonds enhances the stretchability and toughness of spider capture-silk. With this in mind, we fabricate microstructured fibers with sacrificial bonds using the dragged viscous thread instability. A thread of viscous liquid flowing towards a perpendicular moving platform buckles repetitively and creates different periodical patterns. A solution of 25% polylactid acid (PLA) dissolved in the dichloromethane (DCM) is extruded from a 30μm diameter needle onto a moving platform. By decreasing the speed ratio between the thread extrusion speed and the platform moving speed, we obtain different instability patterns: catenary, meandering, alternating (loop falling on alternate sides of the main thread), and coiling (all the loops falling on the same side). The spatial frequency of the periodical patterns linearly increases with the speed ratio until overlapping occurs. When the thread loops on itself, it welds and fuses with itself to form a bond which solidifies as the solvent evaporates and the thread dries. Different fiber patterns are tested in an electromechanical tensile machine and their performance are compared to a straight fiber. Sacrificial bonds require significant energy to break (i.e., ranging between 0 to 110% of the yield value of a straight fiber). Finally by controlling the instability parameters, we are able to tailor the mechanical properties of the resulting fibers such as its breaking strain, rigidity and toughness which could lead to different protective wear applications.

Résumé :
This paper examines the various regimes that are used to protect databases to suggest that the continued progress o' science and technology that has enabled economic prosperity will be fostered by less regulation. The diversity between and within each of these regimes reflects fundamentally different views of intellectual property. Technology, specifically digitalization that has facilitated the creation, replication and easy dissemination of information has changed the value of information and threatens to create a striated society of information "haves" and "have-nots" due to enclosure mechanisms. As technology advances, the laws which we implement to build upon the existing intellectual property infrastructure must be developed with care to preserve the careful balance of the public good and private interest that has maintained the past 200 years of "progress of science and useful arts." The author suggests ways to structure a database to encourage or reward database developers while simultaneously fostering the advancement of science. Web Technology has changed conventional Information Systems (IS) and conventional Information Technology (IT) as we know it. There is no doubt that Web technology will provide the foundation for most future software systems. IS curriculum therefore needs to be brought up to date to reflect this reality. In this paper we update our earlier research leading to the design of a graduate model curriculum for Information Systems and describe a generic web-centric Information Systems Masters curriculum model. It is strong on web-technology and its goal is to produce students who are comfortable with both today's technology and technology of the future. Universities and colleges can adapt this curriculum model to design a new Masters in IS curriculum or simply to bring up to date any existing IS/IT curriculum. The model suggests new core concentration courses, and concentration electives.
