LawArt sollecita ad Alberto Sciumè alcune riflessioni su Gabriele D’Annunzio (1863-1938) come ‘legislatore’. Il profilo del grande poeta, romanziere e drammaturgo italiano è proiettato entro l’esperienza della Reggenza italiana e della Carta del Carnaro, carta costituzionale che declina in modo originale il rapporto tra politica e diritto. D’Annunzio, coautore con Alceste de Ambris della Carta, si cala a tutto tondo nell’innovativo progetto. Contribuisce a farne un modello per la creazione di una rete di relazioni tra gli esponenti della cultura italiana determinati a promuovere una rigenerazione delle istituzioni politiche italiane. Una rigenerazione che prende le forme del diritto, muovendo dalla politica e attingendo alla letteratura e alla poesia.

Durante gli anni Venti e Trenta la politica estera fascista fece dell'Albania uno degli obiettivi piů importanti dell'espansione politica, economica e culturale dell'Italia nel Sud-Est dell'Europa. Il saggio, con l'ausilio di molti documenti inediti provenienti dall'Archivio del ministero degli Affari esteri e dall'Archivio Centrale dello Stato, analizza alcune delle principali direttrici della politica estera e della politica culturale italiana nel paese adriatico. Nonostante i tentativi di re Zog di conservare dei margini di autonomia, a partire dalla metŕ degli anni Trenta la pressione italiana non fece altro che aumentare: cospicui prestiti finanziari, aiuti militari, aumento del numero delle scuole italiane, imposizione della lingua italiana quale materia obbligatoria di insegnamento, il ricorso massiccio alla corruzione, che non risparmiň neppure il sovrano albanese e la sua cerchia, furono i metodi che il regime fascista utilizzň per aumentare la propria influenza politica e la capacitŕ di ingerenza negli affari interni albanesi. Il fine apertamente dichiarato da Ciano era quello di ottenere l'annessione del paese vicino quando la situazione internazionale avesse reso possibile l'aggressione

IntroduzioneCome da molte parti è stato sottolineato, e come confermano puntualmente i sondaggi d'opinione, Fattuale fase politica nazionale è marcata da una profonda e crescente disaffezione dei cittadini nei confronti del mondo della politica in generale e di quello partitico in particolare.Tutti i giudizi che vengono formulati dagli italiani in merito alle più rilevanti istituzioni politiche o agli attori politici occupano - nel ranking complessivo delle «fiducie» (riportate in tab. 1) - le posizioni decisamente più basse. Senza particolari distinzioni tra elettori di sinistra o di destra, la popolazione italiana appare unanime nel considerare gravemente insufficienti sia i partiti che i principali organi di rappresentanza politica.

Resumo: O presente trabalho é resultado de extensa pesquisa documental e de entrevistas com descendentes de italianos que imigraram à  época da substituição do trabalho escravo pela mão-de obra assalariada e predominantemente européia, no Brasil, quando da iminência da proclamação da República. Os subsídios teóricos que embasam o desenvolvimento desta dissertação compreendem uma reflexão dialética dos acontecimentos, enfocando os homens e suas ações em assonância com o contexto maior em que se inseriam. Trata-se, pois, de uma análise histórica que relaciona a sociedade, a política e a educação enquanto forças que antagonicamente se atraem, em confluência com o movimento mundial do capital. Neste trabalho, documenta-se e reconstitui-se historicamente a imigração italiana na região de Limeira, estado de São Paulo, no final do século XIX, à época da substituição do trabalho escravo pela mão-de-obra assalariada e européia - a italiana, em especial -, nas fazendas de café locais
Abstract: The present work is resulted of extensive documentary research and interviews with descendants of Italians who had immigrated to the time of the substitution of the enslaved work for the wage-earning and predominantly European man power, in Brazil, when of the imminence of the announcement of the Republic. The theoretical subsidies that base the development of this work understand a reflection dialectic of the events, focusing the men and its action in relationship with the context biggest where if they inserted. It is treated, therefore, of a historical analysis that relates the society, the politics and the education while forces that antagonistically are attracted, in confluence with the world-wide movement of the capital. In this work, it is registered and one reconstituted historically Italian immigration in the regions of Limeira, state of São Paulo, in the end of centuryXIX, to the time of the substitution of the enslaved work for the wage-earning and European man power - the Italian, in special-, in the local farms of coffee

L'industria italiana del mobile, uno dei settori portanti del “Made in Italy”, guarda al mercato russo e alle opportunità offerte dai nuovi modelli di consumo sviluppatisi sulla scia della straordinaria crescita economica. L'obiettivo del lavoro, articolato in tre capitoli, è quello di fornire una panoramica delle tendenze in atto attraverso un'analisi sia di tipo quantitativo che qualitativo, con riferimento agli studi di settore, alla letteratura nazionale ed internazionale e alle statistiche ufficiali relative al commercio estero. Partendo dalla disamina della dimensione economica dell'industria e focalizzando l'attenzione sull'andamento delle esportazioni di mobili verso i più importanti mercati di sbocco, si passa all'inquadramento delle principali leve competitive del sistema italiano dell'arredamento, costituite dal design e dall'internazionalizzazione. La seconda parte dell'elaborato è dedicata, in primo luogo, all'approfondimento delle dinamiche socio-economiche caratterizzanti l'attuale realtà russa e alla conseguente evoluzione dei modelli di consumo, con particolare riferimento al settore arredo-casa; in secondo luogo, vengono presentati gli attori italiani economico-istituzionali presenti sul territorio russo e le modalità di promozione e di presidio del mercato. Nel capitolo conclusivo, infine, sulla base di un'esperienza diretta di formazione in azienda, viene fornito un riscontro concreto alle argomentazioni teoriche attraverso l'analisi delle strategie di approccio al mercato russo adottate dalla realtà aziendale lucana Nicoletti Home, specializzata nella produzione di mobili imbottiti.

La Grande Guerra genera significative instabilità e cambiamenti sistemici all’interno dei paesi coinvolti. Con specifico riferimento all’Italia, l’anormalità della vita economica determina, fra le altre conseguenze, un sensibile deprezzamento della lira soprattutto sul finire del 1917. Nel tentativo di fronteggiare la situazione il ministro del Tesoro Nitti fonda l’Istituto nazionale per i cambi con l’estero (Ince), a cui viene riservato il monopolio del commercio delle valute per la durata della guerra e per i primi sei mesi successivi alla conclusione della pace. Concepito come soluzione di emergenza provvisoria, nel dopoguerra l’Istituto, operando senza interruzioni dal 1918 al 1943, diviene però uno strumento istituzionale permanente per la gestione della politica valutaria italiana. Viene soppresso e posto in liquidazione solo dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, con l'affidamento delle sue funzioni all’Ufficio italiano cambi. Il presente lavoro si pone l’obiettivo di fornire una ricostruzione della storia dell’Ince dalla disfatta di Caporetto – all’indomani della quale viene promossa la costituzione dell’Istcambi – all’avvio della politica economica autarchica, quando l’istituzione del Sottosegretariato per gli scambi e le valute segnerà uno spartiacque nella storia dell’Ince, esautorando di fatto l’Istituto. Quel che emerge da una visione d’insieme è la possibilità di tratteggiare diverse fasi della vita dell’Istcambi, in cui si evidenzia un’evoluzione del suo ruolo sullo sfondo dei mutamenti della politica valutaria italiana negli anni tra le due guerre. Più che di un unico Ince sembrerebbe, dunque, più corretto parlare di differenti Ince, come testimoniato dalle numerose modifiche operative e normative succedutisi nel tempo, che permettono di scorgere in filigrana le difficoltà delle autorità di politica economica nella gestione di un periodo contrassegnato da continue turbolenze.
The First World War, as it is well known, provided significant systemic changes and instability in the economies of the countries involved, such as the exit from the gold standard system. In Italy, among other consequences, it affected the level of the exchange rate, especially at the end of 1917. Urgent measures had to be taken in order to face this situation. So, the government and specifically Francesco Saverio Nitti – as Minister of Treasury – decided to found the so-called INCE (Istituto nazionale per i cambi con l’estero), establishing a monopoly on the exchange rate. At first, the institution was meant to operate for a limited period of time only; indeed, its activities should have stopped six months after the end of the war. Instead, INCE kept on working without interruption in the following years and became, as an emergency solution, an institutional and permanent tool for the management of the Italian currency policy. It was suppressed only in 1945, after the Second World War, when its functions passed into a new public institution. Considering its long-life and functions, “INCE” can be considered an important institution in Italian economic history. However, there are no studies entirely devoted to INCE so far. This Ph.D thesis tries to fill this gap, reconstructing the history and the role played by INCE during WWI and in the interwar years. What emerges is that, after the war, INCE’s role evolved overtime replying to various needs of the economic policy and playing several functions. This evolution was not linear because the institution had more extensive or more limited powers depending on the circumstances. So, rather than a single INCE, it seems more correct to talk about different INCEs, as testified by legislative reorganizations that concerned the institute during its life and that underline the difficulties of the monetary authorities in a very troubled period.

Gli anni che vanno dal 1970 al 1980 possono venir considerati come un momento di svolta nelle vicende politico-economiche mondiali, rappresentando per l’economia Italiana un decennio critico che mise fine a quel “Miracolo Economico” che aveva permesso al paese di risollevarsi dopo il secondo conflitto mondiale. L’Italia si ritrovò impreparata nell’affrontare questi eventi, non essendo riuscita né ad attenuare la propria dipendenza dal petrolio sviluppando tecnologie alternative, come ad esempio quella nucleare, né tanto meno a controllarne l’approvvigionamento alla fonte, dipendendo in questo dalle compagnie estere, inglesi e americane, mentre sul territorio venivano compiuti imponenti investimenti con lo scopo di ampliare la capacità di raffinazione.In questo contesto la situazione politica del paese vedeva aumentare i consensi del Pci, i cui leader abbandonarono la strategia di attacco frontale alla struttura sociale esistente, arrivando persino a riconsiderare la loro contrarietà all’appartenenza del paese alla Nato per poter contribuire alla formazione di un governo. Questa tendenza, testimoniata dalla sconfitta dei cattolici nei referendum su divorzio e aborto, portò lontano dalla questione economica l’attenzione dei vari governi che, limitandosi a politiche di sostegno ai salari finanziate con la spesa pubblica, non riuscirono ad affrontare in un’ottica strutturale la questione energetica.

The theoretical framework in which this study is framed concerns the internationalization of production dynamics of firms abroad. The international literature in this field argues that there is not a conventional definition nor a universally tested theory that can explain all forms of foreign-owned production (see, among others, Dunning, 1988b and 1993a, Ietto-Gillies, 2005 and 2007). In this complex context, a large amount of Italian literature has been published around the theoretical framework of internationalization of production of Italian companies abroad (Tattara, Corò and Volpe, 2006, Mariotti and Mutinelli, 2005, et.al.). Nevertheless, a limited number of quantitative studies are available about the topic of Italian firms “migration” in Romania - as a particular expression of productive internationalization of our companies in this Country (Majocchi, 2002, Unimpresa Romania, 2005 and Antenna Veneto Romania, 2005). Thus, in order to investigate it by an industrial policy perspective a multilevel modelling approach has been applied. In particular, a two level model has been used to determine the effects of Romanian regions (romanian judets) in which Italian manufacturing firms internationalized the production in 2009 on their industrial performance. Based on a business register-based survey a business register of the Italian business community in Romania has been created. The data on Italian manufacturing firms located in Romania in 2009 have been selected from this register. The dataset used for the analysis includes 796 cases of firms internationalized in Romania. Therefore, a two level model has been carried out in order to determine the effects of intra-industry characteristics of these firms (i.e. Firm size and Firm Industrial specialization) on their industrial performance in 2009 both at individual and area level. The model results have shown that: as the firms dimension increase they have to be extremely sensible in the choice of the romanian region in which they want to (de)localize the production. Furthermore, the choice of the romanian region of productive delocalization has to be chosen by firms according to their sectors of activity.

Il tema della politica della razza e della persecuzione contro gli ebrei operata dal fascismo italiano è oggetto di una ricchissima messe di studi e ricerche. Meno approfondita risulta l’attenzione rivolta dalla storiografia internazionale verso questo stesso tema nel contesto della Repubblica Sociale Italiana, nonostante proprio il fascismo repubblicano avesse operato un inasprimento dei provvedimenti antiebraici. Il Congresso di Verona (1943) dichiarò gli ebrei nemici di guerra: non protetti dalle norme del diritto internazionale e requisiti i loro beni, in molti vennero arrestati e deportati nei campi di concentramento. Nella convinzione di un necessario ripensamento critico da un lato dell’esperienza della repubblica sociale, troppo spesso ridotta a regime privo di autonomia decisionale e totalmente sottomesso all’alleato-invasore tedesco, e dall’altro delle rimozioni (non solo) storiografiche sulle responsabilità italiane nella persecuzione antiebraica, questa tesi si propone di studiare la politica della razza a Salò. Dopo un inquadramento del razzismo nel regime fascista e della sua evoluzione (della nascita delle leggi antiebraiche e della persecuzione dei diritti degli ebrei), l’attenzione si focalizza sugli eventi compresi tra il 1943 e la Liberazione, attraverso lo studio degli atti normativi della RSI e dell'istituzione di uno specifico ente, l'Ispettorato per la Razza di Desenzano, per poi analizzare l'antiebraismo attraverso gli strumenti della propaganda visiva e testuale.

Policies of deficit and inflation rate reduction, commonly known as austerity policies, have been dominating the European economic debate for several years. The European Union’s constraints play an important role in determining the content of the economic policies implemented by member countries. Since 1979, Italy has made use of the EU institutions as a vincolo esterno (external constraint) in order to facilitate the liberalization of its economy: a goal that Italy, alone, had not the ability to pursue for many reasons. The aim of the research is to investigate the relationship between the austerity policies and the European constraints. This relationship has been observed through the views expressed by a number of individuals (politicians, journalists, academics, interest groups and others) and reported by the Italian press. The aim is to check whether the support for austerity policies is motivated by the necessity to fulfill the demands of the European institutions. The considered events are the financial crises of 1992 and 2011. The methodology is based on a content analysis of three newspaper articles: “Corriere della Sera”, “la Repubblica”, “l’Unità”. The hypothesis has a match in the empirical analysis: those who express favorable opinions to the European constraints are more oriented than those who do not show such views to support the austerity policies. Another element that determines austerity support positions is the interpretation of the economic situation in terms of emergency, but in this case the relationship is usually less intense. Data also show that there is a widespread consensus about austerity among the parties, the newspapers and the professional categories, but a strong split/gap resists regarding more specific aspects such as single economic measures and the distribution of rebalancing costs within society. The purpose of the article is to investigate the progressive evolution of the Italian policy on international protection and reception system. Following the «refugee crisis» of 2015, various strategies have been tested to «reconfigure» the border and control human mobility, confusing and overlapping the inviolable obligation to protect the right of asylum with security measures aimed at safeguarding public order. The «new mobility control regime» has extended beyond the borders of national states in terms of containment and filtration devices for arriving migrants in search of protection (such as the hotspot approach and border control externalization processes).

The contribution looks at the Italian policies towards Africa in order to attest if and how migration issues influenced the political agenda and the decision-making process both of the government and the parliament, respectively, between 2008 and 2018. This period witnessed the development of an alleged new course for Italian policies vis-à-vis Africa and some African countries in particular. Here we focus on Nigeria and Senegal. An outline of the official visits made by Italian politicians to Africa and the scrutiny of parliamentary debates on African issues allows to assess the divide between the rhetoric of a supposed ‘new course’, with Italy at the forefront of a new Euro-Africa partnership, and the continuity of ‘old’ concerns on matters such as the control of flows and mobility.

The article is devoted to the presentation of political events in Italy in 1861–1862 on the pages of British periodicals. The main focus of the article is on the analysis of the attitude of English contemporaries to the processes of the formation of the Italian Kingdom, the role of prominent Italian political figures at the final stage of the Risorgimento, and the perception of the peculiarities of the national character of the Italians by the British.

This paper focuses its attention on the presence of deonyms – in this case, new words derived from the surnames of foreign heads of state – in presentday journalistic Italian language. The research was conducted by analyzing the historical archive of two of the most relevant newspapers in Italy: la Repubblica and La Stampa. The purpose is to emphasize the main different semantic nuances of the words consisting of politicians’ surnames and Italian suffixes and to demonstrate the language contacts between Italian and other languages. As it can easily be guessed, most of the words investigated in this study were derived from names of American presidents as a result of the influence of American politics on the Italian system.

sufficient amount of foreign research literature has been devoted to the study of such a political phenomenon as euroscepticism; recently, interest in it among the Russian scientific community has intensified due to the strengthening of its positions in the EU countries. Italy after the elections of March 4, 2018 turned into a “show-window” of the success of euroscepticism and populism. The purpose of this article is to determine the sustainability of the new government. The author identifies the causes of the weakening of the position of the Democratic Party in Italy, the coming to power of radical parties, whose leadership until recently was not taken seriously among the EU political establishment. The paper also analyzes the main concepts of the program called “Contract for the government of change” and the prospects for its implementation. To solve these tasks, a historical and chronological method was used, which allowed to track the stages of weakening popular support for traditional parties and the growing popularity of euro skeptics. The research was also used the theoretical research method as an analysis to determine the future prospects of the government in domestic and foreign policy. The author comes to the conclusion that in the coming years Italy will become the leader of all eurosceptic forces with the prospect of creating and heading a similar faction in the European Parliament in May 2019. The conclusion is also formed that the Government’s attitude to cancel anti-Russian sanctions should not be considered too optimistic. Analyzing the declining rhetoric of the Italian leadership on this issue, the author assumes that the Russian issue is just a bargaining chip in knocking out EU preferences on fiscal and migration issues

The paper proposes a new text-based indicator aimed at assessing the impact over time of political debate on economy. Textual data from the plenary verbatim reports of the Italian Parliament are pre-processed and relevant themes, whose temporal evolution allows predicting fluctuations in fundamental macro-economic variables, are estimated via a Correlated Topic Model. Specifically, a Political Debate Index is derived based on a time-varying weighting function of the estimated topic proportions. The capability, in terms of out-of-sample forecasts accuracy, of the proposed approach in improving the predictability of selected economic indicators is evaluated considering different predictors. The reached results seem to support the evidence that qualitative information conveyed by the daily political debate does have an impact on the economic dynamic over time and can be usefully used to improve the economic predictions performance.

Röportaj, İtalyan kökenli G. Filippucci Giustiniani tarafından yapılmıştır. Biz bu mülakata, adı geçen gazetecinin Türkiye ve Yakın Doğu ülkelerine yaptığı seyahatlere ait hatıralarının bulunduğu 1924’te yayınlanan Dieci anni di viaggi politici in Oriente, Dieci anni di viaggi politici in Oriente, Turchia-GreciaEgitto-Palestina-Siria (1914-1924) başlıklı kitabında rastladık. Yazar, Atatürk ile mülakatı 1923’te yaptığını yazmış ve mülakatın sonunda da Corriere Italiano notunu düşmüştür. Corriere Italiano gazetesi, 9 Ağustos 1922-28 Temmuz 1923 tarihleri arasında yayınlanan Il Giornaledi Roma gazetesinin yerine 11 Ağustos 1923’te yayınlanmaya başladı. Mülakatın sonundaki nottan hareketle Il Giornale di Roma ve Corriere Italiano’nun gazetelerinin 1923 ve 1924 yıllarına ait kolleksiyonlarını taradığımız halde bu mülakata rastlayamadık. Giustiniani’nin bu dönemde Türkiye hakkındaki çeşitli yazılarına İtalyan gazetelerinde rastladık. Tahminimiz, bu mülakatın yayınlanmak üzere Corriere Italiano gazetesine gönderildiği fakat yayınlanmadığı yönündedir. Mülakatın ne zaman yapıldığı hakkında kesin bir bilgiye sahip değiliz. Yazar, görüşmenin İzmir’de Göztepe’de yapıldığını not etmiştir. Buradan hareketle, Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın 1923 yılının 27 Temmuz-2 Ağustos günleri arasında Göztepe’de kaldığını bildiğimizden, görüşmenin 27-31 Temmuz 1923’te yapıldığını düşünüyoruz. Mülakatta Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın zaferden sonrasına dönük planları, kurduğu Halk Partisi, demokrasi, yabancılar ve yabancı sermaye hakkındaki düşünceleri ve özellikle kadınlarla ilgili düşüncelerini öğrenmek mümkündür. Yazar Giustiniani, Atatürk ve eşi Latife Hanım hakkında son derce gerçekçi gözlem ve tespitlerde bulunmuştur.

The purpose of this paper is to identify the effects caused by COV­ID-19 on the economic performance of Italian small businesses in the year 2020, with particular regard to the relationships between the determining variables of the operational management profitability. This survey can be useful in guiding the management of the firm, since it allows to intercept the management areas characterized by greater fragility which, as such, must be subjected to closer monitoring. The research considered a sample of 322 small Italian companies. To identify the impact caused by the pandemic on the performance of the selected sample, the research used a Pearson corre­lation analysis applied to the main variables of the operating area and ob­served the five years 2016-2020 in order to understand the main variations that occurred in 2020 compared to previous years. The research showed that in 2020 the core business suffered a general loss of elasticity demon­strated by the presence of a significant reduction in the correlation between revenues and production costs (raw materials, services, employees and de­preciation). The lower reactivity of costs to changes in revenues contributed to the sharp erosion of the net income of the companies in the sample.

Throughout the years, the media, independent journalists, and bloggers—as well as well-known academics and commentators—have struggled to define this “strange political creature.” Some have labeled it a polymorphous “hybrid-party” and others a “movement-party.” The mistake most analysts make when discussing the M5S is that they somehow forget the party’s left-wing origins.

CasaPound Italy is one of the most interesting and ambiguous populist right-wing extremist groups emerged in Europe. Its supporters say they are not ‘racist’ but are against immigration because of its impact on wages and houses; not antisemitic, but anti-Israel vis-à-vis Palestine; not homophobic, but supporters of the ‘traditional family’. Never before there was in Italy an explicitly neo-fascist group enjoying the strategic viability and the marge of political manoeuvre that was secured today by the CasaPound. Although CasaPound remains substantially marginal from an electoral point of view, its visibility in the Italian system is symptomatic of the ability of the extreme right to assimilate populist and alternative agendas in order to increase the attractiveness of their communication campaigns.
