David Perlov y José Luis Guerin convergen en lo esencial al pensar el cine no en relación con lo industrial sino en relación con lo artesanal: el cine como un forma de escritura. Pero no es este el único punto de encuentro entre las obras cinematográficas de estos dos directores pudiendo advertirse entre ambas otros puntos de confluencia. En este artículo trataremos, pues, de examinar la obra de sendos cineastas atendiendo a sus paralelismos, esto es rastrear aquellos elementos o rasgos del cine de Perlov que reaparecen en el cine de Guerin, así como de dilucidar la naturaleza de dicha relación.

Este artículo aborda Diario (1983), de David Perlov, como un hito patente en el itinerario latinoamericano que representa la preeminencia del documental como ensayo de las últimas décadas. Analiza la fenomenología del documentalista, las evidencias del entramado —un sistema de signos que entablan un diálogo vinculante con la (auto)puesta en escena— y la estrategia discursiva e intertextual, entre el rodaje y el montaje. Señala la invención asociativa, la yuxtaposición de ángulos y de puntos de vista en relación con la visión del cineasta marcada por la errancia, el deseo identitario y el choque con lo heterogéneo que definen una distancia doble, virtual y poética, generando paradojas y tensiones latentes entre lo visible y lo invisible.

Nesses diários, realizados entre os anos 1970 e 2000, a errância, o trauma, o exílio e o luto são figuras de uma enunciação subjetiva e de uma narrativa em trânsito constante, para as quais o deslocamento, não sendo apenas geográfico, faz a passagem da identidade à alteridade, do singular ao coletivo, do trauma ao luto, do privado ao político.

O texto propõe pensar a condição do exílio na obra Diary 1973-1983 de David Perlov, cineasta brasileiro radicado em Israel, para além de sua concepção usual (a de um recolhimento do cineasta para dentro de seu próprio apartamento, de onde produziria as primeiras imagens de seu diário fílmico). Tomando como ponto de partida o sentimento de estrangeirismo que o cineasta carregava e seu anunciado desejo de documentar o cotidiano (os fatos e nada mais), apresento um exílio de outra natureza que se caracteriza como um recolhimento para detrás da imagem, ou, ainda, para um espaço-tempo metafísico entre imagem e espectadores.

The residual limb within the prosthesis, is often subjected to tensile or fatigue stress with varying temperatures. The fatigue stress and temperatures difference which faced by amputee during his daily activities will produces an environmental media for growth of fungi and bacteria in addition to the damage that occurs in the prosthesis which minimizingthe life of the prosthetic limb and causing disconfirm feeling for the amputee. In this paper, a mechanical and thermal properties of composite materials prosthetic socket made of different lamination for perlon/fiber glass/perlon, are calculated by using tesile test device under varying temperatures ( from 20oC to 60oC), also in this paper a device for measuring rotational bending fatigue stress under varying temperatures was designed, manufactured, and calibrated ( this device is not available in Iraq), to achieve S – N curves for different lamination of perlon/fiber glass/perlon composite materials of prosthetic above knee socket. In this paper, the mechanical and thermal properties set ( E, σy, σult, K, and α ) results of the above composite materials are decreased when the temperatures are increased. The S–N curves results of rotational bending fatigue for these lamination of composite materials are decreased when the temperatures are increased,also the endurance limit stresses (σe) are decreased with the increasing of number of perlon, and increasing temperatures, generaly after about 107 cycles.

This study used the tensile and fatigue test to find the properties of composite material used to fabricate a prosthetic socket with below knee amputation using an excluding air technique. The composite materials consisted of eight layers of carbon-fiber for first socket and eight layers of perlon for second socket of below knee amputation. This study was conducted on a patient have 45years old of height 164cm and weight95kg were measured, and the results showed that the ultimate stress (Ϭult) and yield stress (Ϭy) for eight layers of perlon was39 MPa and 36 MPa, while for eight layers of carbon-fiber was 135 MPa and 121 MPa. The fatigue limit for eight layers of perlon was 15 MPa and for eight layers of carbon-fiber was 90 MPa. The value of pressure on the internal wall of the prosthetic socket was measured by F-socket sensor between stump and socket for four position; this data is anterior =210kPa, lateral=313kPa, posterior=225kPa and medial=180kPa. From mechanical properties and ANSYS workbench 14.5software, the safety factor for below knee socket with eight layers of carbon-fiber is (1.35) which is acceptable for socket design. The safety factor for below knee socket with eight layers of perlon is (0.22) which is failure.

In this process, optimum laminating properties were used in producing prosthesis and orthoses were researched and selected based on high yield, ultimate stresses, stresses of bending and fatigue properties. The process of the optimal selection is the Response Surface Methodology (RSM), which has been used to reach two parameters: reinforcement perlon fiber and percent of multi-strand carbon MWCNT nanotube combined with the matrix resin. The response surface methodology is a combination of mathematician and statistic techniques which are used for experimental model building and analysis of problems. This technique revealed 13 separate laminations samples with a percentage of separate Perlon layers No. and MWCNT Wt %. Tests were conducted for all lamination materials as defined in RSM methods and rendered by vacuum system, including fatigue tests for the ideal laminating material as opposed to laminations developed in the prior study (three Tensile test, Bending test and Fatigue tests according to the ASTM D638 and D790 respectively). Tests from the system version 10.0.2 of Design Expert found lamination (10 perlon layers and 0.75% of MWCNTs) to be the best according to overall yield, ultimate and bending loads in the 12 other laminations. Fatigue eventually revealed that constraints were applied to the stamina tension (2,66, 1,66) for optimum lamination, relative to ten perlon lamination layers and 424 lamination respectively.

The optimum structural characteristics of lamination materials used in the fabrication of prosthetic and orthotic parts were investigated in this work. Optimization was chosen based on high yields, ultimate stresses, and bending stress properties. The ideal materials were determined through the use of an RSM (response surface methodology) which considers three factors: Perlon reinforcement, a layer of glass fiber, and the percentage of titanium nanoparticles combined with the matrix laminating resin. The RSM approach suggests thirteen samples by manipulating two variables: the Ti nano percentage and the number of Perlon layers. Laminating materials, defined by RSM methods and treated with a vacuum system, were submitted to a series of tests. The ideal lamination material was compared with the laminations from the initial study through the use of tensile, flexural, and fatigue testing according to ASTM standards. Tests carried out using version 10.0.2 of Design Expert software showed that, compared with the 12 other laminations, the one with 10 Perlon layers and 0.75 percent Ti nano had the highest overall yield and ultimate and bending loads. Fatigue eventually showed that stamina tension constraints were applied for optimal lamination, compared to ten Perlon lamination layers. We additionally tested the fatigue life of the best material and compared it with the available materials used at prosthetics and orthotics centers.

This research aims to describe the division of the roles of men and women in the ritual procession of the Perlon unggahan of the Blangkhon Islamic community, and to describe the meaning of the division of the roles of men and women in the ritual of the Perlon unggahan of the Blanghon Islamic community. This research uses a qualitative method. Data collection methods were carried out by means of in-depth inter- views, observation, documentation studies, and literature studies. The results of the study show that one of the main values in the ritual of the Perlon unggahan is respect for women, that women are representatives of God because humans are born in the world through female intermedi- aries. This main value shows the existence of gender equality in the ritual of the Perlon unggahan where male followers do not dominate and women are not considered subordinated, because there are unique roles that can- not be performed by men such as women being allowed to purify them- selves and come to Kyai Bonoheling’s grave first, in the past while the men were in charge of coohing. In addition, men and women are treated equally, namely walhing barefoot carrying produce of the earth from the Cilacap Regency area to Pehuncen Village, Banyumas Regency. Both men and women are given the freedom to follow the ritual according to their wishes, without any coercion and social sanctions.

In this research, the use of natural materials like wool and cannabis as intermediate reinforcement for prosthetic limbs due to their comfort, affordability, and local availability was discussed. As part of this study on below-the-knee (BK) prosthetic sockets, two sets of samples were made using a vacuum method. These sets were made of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites with lamination 80:20: group (Y) had 4 perlon, 1 wool 4 perlon, and group (G) had 4 perlon, 1 cannabis 4 perlon. The two groups were compared with a socket made of polypropylene. Tensile testing was used to determine the mechanical characteristics of the socket materials. The Y group has a yield stress of 17 MPs, an ultimate strength of 18.75 MPa, and an elastic modulus of 4.021 GPa, while for the G group, these values are 12.75 MPa, 18.84 MPa, and 4.076 GPa, respectively. The fatigue test was used to evaluate the failure characteristics of the socket. An F-socket was utilized to test the interface compression between both the limb and the socket. For the Tekscan sensor, the calculated pressure in the medial region is 350 K Pa, while it is 330 KPa in the posterior region. Solid Works software was used to draw a prosthetic socket for the numerical study. The failure safety agent for the composite material for group Y was 1.26. The finite element method (ANSYS Workbench 14.5) was used to look at the fatigue characteristics to detect the maximum stress, safety factor, and total deformation.

Perov studied the Banach contraction principle in the framework of a generalized metric space and presented Perov contraction condition where the contractive constant is replaced by a matrix with nonnegative entries and spectral radius less than 1. Azam et al. presented the notion of rectangular cone metric space following the idea of Branciari, Huang and Zhang by replacing the triangular inequality in the cone metric space by rectangular inequality. Motivated by the work of Abbas and Vetro and Radenovi´c, the purpose of this paper is to introduce a new class of Perov type multivalued mappings and present a common fixed point result for such mappings on a complete rectangular cone metric space. Furthermore, an example is also presented to demonstrate the validity of our results. Our results extend, unify and generalize various comparable results in the existing literature.

There are many results in the fixed point theory that were presented as generalizations of Banach theorem and other well-known fixed point theorems, but later proved equivalent to these results. In this article we prove that Perov?s existence result follows from Banach theorem by using renormization of normal cone and obtained metric. The observed estimations of approximate point given by Perov, could not be obtained from consequences of Banach theorem on metric spaces.

Ćirić and Prešić developed the concept of Prešić contraction to Ćirić-Prešić type contractive mappings in the background of a metric space. On the other hand, Altun and Olgun introduced Perov type F-contractions. In this paper, we extend the concept of Ćirić-Prešić contractions to Perov-Ćirić-Prešić type F-contractions. Our results modify some known ones in the literature. To support our main result, an example and an application to nonlinear operator systems are presented.

The area of improper ferroelectrics and potentially multiferroics has recently received significant attention do the prediction that a combination of a–a–c+ tilting and layered ordering of the A site cations along [001]perov in perovskite ABX3 systems or in the even n Ruddlesden Popper (RP) phases (An+1BnX3n+1), leads to non-centrosymmetric structures which are predicted to have significant switchable polarisations. Two practical examples will be discussed: (i) Suitable doping of the RP phase SrLn2Fe2O7 can induce a polar tilted ground state where weak ferromagnetism and magnetocelecricity are induced by the appearance of the polar tilted state. The transition temperatures and phase sucession is dependant on the degree of doping. (ii) The oxide heterostructure [(YFeO3)5(LaFeO3)5]40,which is magnetically ordered and piezoelectric at room temperature, has been constructed from two weak ferromagnetic AFeO3 perovskites with different A cations using RHEED-monitored pulsed laser deposition.1 Here we elaborate a superspace description of cation ordering in tilted perovskites that allows the prediction of the symmetry of arbitrary cation ordered superlattices, along <100>perov, <110>perov and <111>perov and ordering of both A and B cations, of the various tilted perovskites, which also rationalizes the observed domain structures. This approach is expaned to include magnetic symmetry and the potential for finding other suitable structural distortions in non-perovskite systems will be discussed.

This work involves three parts , first part is manufacturing different types of laminated below knee prosthetic socket materials with different classical laminated materials used in Baghdad center for prosthetic and orthotic (4perlon layers+2carbon fiber layer+4 perlon layers) , two suggested laminated materials(3perlon layers+2carbon fiber layer+3 perlon layers) and (3perlon layers+1carbon fiber layer+3 perlon layers) ) in order to choose perfect laminated socket . The second part tests (Impact test) the laminated materials specimens used in socket manufacturing in order to get the impact properties for each socket materials groups using an experimental rig designed especially for this purpose. The interface pressure between the residual leg and prosthetic socket is also measured to cover all the surface area of the B-K prosthetic socket by using piezoelectric sensor in order to estimate the resulting stress according to loading conditions. A male with age, length, mass, and stump length of 42 years, 164 cm, 67 Kg and 13 cm respectively with a right transtibial amputation is chosen to achieve the above mentioned test procedures. The last part suggests a theoretical and analytical models for each group of specimen to find out the absorbed energy behavior and subjected maximum stress for each laminated B-K prosthetic socket materials .

This research is looking for three laminated composite material groups. These three groups were utilized in experimental investigation to find their mechanical properties. These properties have been used to design and manufacture a socket for a partial foot prosthesis using an ANSYS model. This socket was manufactured with a vacuum pressure device to improve its properties. The socket composite material was tested for tensile and fatigue properties; then, its results were used in the ANSYS model. The composite material matrix was laminated in an 80 : 20 ratio, and there were three types of reinforcement lamination material (Perlon, glass fiber, and carbon fiber). The mechanical property results of these tests were found as follows: using only-Perlon reinforcement, the properties are σ y = 33.6 MPa , σ ult = 35.6 MPa , and modulus of elasticity = 1.03 GPa ; using (3Perlon +2carbon fiber +3perlon) layers, the properties were σ y = 65.5 MPa , σ ult = 92.5 MPa , and modulus of elasticity = 1.99 GPa ; and using (3Perlon + 2 glass fiber + 3perlon) layers, the results were σ y = 40 MPa , σ ult = 46.6 MPa , and modulus of elasticity = 1.4 GPa . The ANSYS model used the boundary condition from the measured contact pressure between the socket and the patient’s stump. The MatScan (F-socket) pressure sensor utilized these interface pressure measurements. The maximum values for the pressure were found as follows: 190 kPa and 164 kPa, which are recorded in the posterior and lateral locations, respectively. The calculated factor of safety for the prosthesis that has been made from a selected composite material with the following layers (3 Perlon+2 carbon fiber+3 Perlon) is 1.037 which is safe for design prosthetic applications. From this study, more prosthetic designs can be modelled and manufactured using this approach. Prosthetics and orthotics are usually custom-made for each patient according to its specific requirements. So, it will be very helpful to find a procedure to analyze the prosthetics before manufacturing it.

9065 Background: Although animal laboratory studies attest to opioid tolerance (OT), it can be difficult in clinical practice to determine whether substantive escalation in opioid dose (average of >5% per day between initial daily dose and maximum daily dose to date) is due to disease progression (DP) or decreased opioid responsiveness, which in turn may be due to OT or other factors. Our study aims were to determine (1) the frequency of PERDOC>5%, (2) the correlates and predictors of PERDOC>5% and D1-MEDD. Methods: We retrospectively examined TPCU patient database records for demographics, physician rating of PERDOC in the Edmonton Staging System (ESS) for cancer pain classification, Edmonton Symptom Assessment System (ESAS) scores, and D1-MEDD. Consecutive 1st admission data on patients surviving >3 days were included in the initial analysis. Using complete data, logistic regression and multiple regression models were created with PERDOC>5% and logn D1-MEDD, respectively, as dependent variables. Results: From 1,351 patients who met the initial descriptive analysis eligibility criteria, 1212 (90%) had an ESS rating for PERDOC. The prevalence of PERDOC>5% was 274/1212 (19.3%). Bivariate analysis (N=969, complete data) showed that PERDOC>5% was positively associated (p<0.05) with younger age, neuropathic pain component (NPC), a pathological level of psychological distress (PLPD), substance abuse, higher D1-MEDD, and higher ESAS pain score (ESAS-P). In the multivariate analysis, NPC (Odds ratio: 2.1, 95% confidence interval: 1.5–2.9), PLPD (1.7, 1.2–2.6), and higher D1-MEDD (2.2, 1.03–4.7) were the strongest independent positive predictors, and ESAS-P (1.01, 1.003–1.02) remained as a weaker predictor. In the D1-MEDD regression model, positive predictors (p<0.05) were younger age, NPC, incident pain, PERDOC>5%, PLPD, ESAS-P and ESAS anxiety scores. Conclusions: Aside from OT and DP, the multiple predictors identified for PERDOC>5% and D1-MEDD underscore the need for a systematic multidimensional assessment of cancer pain that incorporates psychological and physical characteristics. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

To initate a datebase on material properties on typical laminations used in belwo knee prosthetic socket (Trans-Tibial). The authors subjected samples of common prosthetic socket laminations to tensile, bending, and fatigue tests. Two varieties of lay up material (fibers) were each laminated separately with common resins (acrylic), resulting in four combinations of fiber/acrylic resin. Fibers made of carbon fiber and perlon fiber were used at different volume fractions. The result showed that socket prosthesis made of carbon fiber and perlon fiber (12 layers) has highest tensile and flexural strenght when compared to other laminations. Material test results indicate that the composite material (12 Layers) have better tensile and fatigue properties than composite material (8 layers). The ultimate tensile strength, and the modulus of elasticity composite material (12 layers) are higher than those of the composite material (8 layers) by 0.124% and 0.072% respectively, and by 0.1% and 0.185 for composite material (8 layers ) with volume fraction of matrix equal 0.72). Vacuum technique is good process and this prevented cavites or defects in specimens

In this paper, two types of fixed point theorems are employed to study the solvability of nonlocal problem for implicit fuzzy fractional differential systems under Caputo gH-fractional differentiability in the framework of generalized metric spaces. First of all, we extend Krasnoselskii?s fixed point theorem to the vector version in the generalized metric space of fuzzy numbers. Under the Lipschitz conditions, we use Perov?s fixed point theorem to prove the global existence of the unique mild fuzzy solution in both types (i) and (ii). When the nonlinearity terms are not Lipschitz, we combine Perov?s fixed point theorem with vector version of Krasnoselskii?s fixed point theorem to prove the existence of mild fuzzy solutions. Based on the advantage of vector-valued metrics and convergent matrix, we attain some properties of mild fuzzy solutions such as the boundedness, the attractivity and the Ulam - Hyers stability. Finally, a computational example is presented to demonstrate the effectivity of our main results.

Tuntutan pasien dan masyarakat akan peningkatan mutu pelayan kefarmasian ,mengharuskan adanya perluasa dari paradigma lama yang berorientasi kepada produk (Drug Oriented) menjadi paradigma baru yang berorientasi pada pasien (Patien Oriented) dengan filosofi pelayanan kefarmasian/Phamaceutical Care (Menkes RI, 2014). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode kuisioner pada responden terpilih yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi di Apotek Perdos Farma Kota Makassar 2021. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Apotik Perdos Farma Kota Makassar pada tanggal Mei-Juni 2021. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua masyarakat yang datang berkunjung ke Apotek Perdos Farma Kota Makassar. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagaian masyarakat yang membeli obat paten di Apotek Perdos Farma Kota Makassar yang memenuhui kriteria inklusi sebanyak 36 0rang. Pengumpulan data berupa data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada masyarakat yang berkunjung di Apotek Perdos Farma Kota Makassar 2021. Salah satu yang mempengaruhi persepsi masyarakat adalah mengenai pengetahuan dari obat paten itu sendiri di mana masyarakat mengetahui tentang obat paten yaitu pada saat mereka berobat ke Rumah sakit dan Apotek. Dari 36 responden terdapat 23 orang (63,9 %) yang mengetahui tentang obat paten, dan 13 orang (36,1 %) yang tidak mengetahui tentang obat paten. Jawaban ini menunjukan bahwa mayoritas responden mengetahui betul tentang obat paten tersebut. Dari segi persepsi masyarakat tentang jenis obat paten yang dikonsumsi tentu perlu kita ketahui obat apa yang akan kita konsumsi, jangan sampai mengkonsumsi obat tapi tidak tahu apa fungsi dari obat tersebut, Masyarakat mengetahui jenis obat paten pada saat mereka membeli obat di Apotek. Dari 35 responden terdapat 22 orang (61,1 %) yang mengetahui jenis obat paten yang pernah dikonsumsi dan 14 orang (38,9 %) yang tidak mengetahuinya. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan terhadap studi persepsi masyarakat tentang obat paten di Apotek Perdos Farma Kota Makassar 2021 maka dapat di simpulkan bahwa dari 36 responden terdapat 24 orang (66.7 %) yang mempunyai persepsi tau terhadap obat paten dan sebanyak 12 orang(33,3%) yang mempunyai persepsi tidak tau terhadap obat paten.

Background: Obstetric violence could be defined as the dehumanized treatment or abuse of health professionals towards the body or reproductive process of women. Some practices associated with obstetric violence have been routinely standardized and do not include the woman in decision making. This type of violence has consequences for the health of both the mother and the baby and that of the professionals who practice or observed it. Methods: A questionnaire consisting of 33 items that measured perception through a Likert scale was developed. Some sociodemographic variables were collected. The instrument was applied to a sample of nursing, medicine and midwifery students to determine its psychometric properties. Results: The final sample consisted of 153 students. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (p = 0.918) and Barlett tests (p ≤ 0.001) allowed for factor analysis, which explained 54.47% of the variance in two factors called protocolized-visible obstetric violence and non-protocolized-invisible obstetric violence. Conclusions: The PercOV-S (Perception of Obstetric Violence in Students) instrument was validated. The distribution and content of the two factors are closely related to obstetric violence against women. The existence of statistically significant relationships between the sociodemographic variables collected and the global measurements, domains and items of the PercOV-S scale highlight the normalization of obstetric violence as a central factor for future studies.

The aims of this article are to examine the reemployment of displaced workers and individual factors that predict reemployment and education, earnings in new jobs, and paths to reemployment. This article is based on a case study of the closing down of the Perlos Ltd plants in North Karelia in eastern Finland. From the 1990s, the Perlos Corporation grew from a Nokia subcontractor into a globally operating limited company with a global workforce of over 13,000 workers and almost 2,000 workers in North Karelia. In 2007, the corporation closed down all its production activities in Finland. In the case study, various data sources were used but this article is based mainly on the questionnaire conducted in 2008 among 1,217 trade union members. Logistic and multinomial regression analyses are used as analysis methods. Against expectations, the fast reemployment of the displaced workers was a surprise, which can be explained by the good demand and hidden need for labor in other firms in this region. However, the demand was specific and differentiated between the workers’ job opportunities. White-collar workers had better chances of reemployment. Gender, next to the occupational status, was an important predictor for reemployment. On the other hand, education, the willingness to move, and family status were not statistically significant explanatory factors for reemployment. The age of the job seekers was one important factor predicting unemployment.

The influence of synthetic Percol 763 and natural chitosan polymers on the granulation rate of suspended anaerobic sludge was studied in laboratory-scale upflow anaerobic sludge bed (UASB)-like reactors. The results showed that supplementation of the reactors with polymers, either natural or synthetic, enhanced the granulation in comparison to control reactors (without the addition of polymers). A greater granulation was, however, obtained with chitosan compared to that with Percol 763. Chitosan yielded a granulation rate as high as 56 m/d compared to 35 m/d Percol 763. The superior granulation performance of chitosan was probably related to its polysaccharidic structure, hence acting similarly to the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in aggregating anaerobic sludge. The granules specific activities were enhanced in the reactors supplemented with both polymers compared to those in control reactors. Overall, the results showed that polymers play a more critical role than microbial trophic groups in enhancing anaerobic granulation in UASB-like reactors.

The third record of the sharpnose seven-gill shark Heptranchias perlo (Selachii: Hexanchidae) north of the Bay of Biscay is reported. The 101 cm total length specimen, which was taken incidentally on a commercial bottom-set longline at a depth of 166 m, was an immature female. In this paper, we prove some Banach fixed point theorems in generalized metric space where the contractive conditions are endowed with the Hadamard product of real symmetric positive definite matrices. Since the condition that a matrix A converges to zero is not needed, this produces stronger results than those of Perov. As an application of our results, we study the existence and uniqueness of the solution for a system of matrix equations.

Detection, localization, and tracking of people in 2D or 3D space using Ultra-wideband (UWB) short-range sensors is a subject of worldwide intensive research. In this paper, we describe a proposal for a novel software called UWB-PerLoc-2D3D. This software has been created in a MATLAB programming environment and designed to process UWB radar signals for the purpose of movement monitoring of human targets in 2D and 3D space. We present an evaluation of the proposed software properties as well as examples of its utilization in practice.

While there is a rich collection of maize germplasm from Italy, it lacks genetic resources from the Aosta Valley, an isolated mountain region where landraces have been preserved in the absence of modern germplasm introductions. These local materials, which are still cultivated mainly at household level, can have high importance from a genetic and historical point of view. In the present study, five landraces named, after the collecting sites, Arnad, Arnad-Crest, Châtillon, Entrebin and Perloz, were sampled in Aosta Valley and subjected to historic, morphologic and genetic characterization. This study provided evidence for the landraces’ long presence in Aosta Valley, a significant genetic variability and differentiation among the investigated landraces. Globally, 67 different alleles were detected ranging from 4 for markers phi127 and p-bnlg176 to 10 for phi031, with a mean of 6.7 alleles per locus. Observed heterozygosity levels were comprised from 0.16 to 0.51 and are generalkly lower than expected heterozigosity supporting fixation at some loci. STRUCTURE analysis revealed clear separation between accessions revealing the presence of four ancestral populations. This may be explained by the long reproductive isolation experienced by these materials. Finally, morphological observations confirm the high diversity between landraces revealing that they generally have flint kernels, variable color from yellow to dark red (Châtillon) while Perloz showed kernels with an apical beak. The present work confirms the importance of mountain areas in conserving biodiversity and increases the rich Italian maize germplasm with materials well adapted to marginal areas. Such new genetic variability may be used to breed new materials for more resilient agriculture.

This study explores how drivers are affected by automation when driving in rested and fatigued conditions. Eighty-nine drivers (45 females, 44 males) aged between 20 and 85 years attended driving experiments on separate days, once in a rested and once in a fatigued condition, in a counterbalanced order. The results show an overall effect of automation to significantly reduce drivers’ workload and effort. The automation had different effects, depending on the drivers’ conditions. Differences between the manual and automated mode were larger for the perceived time pressure and effort in the fatigued condition as compared to the rested condition. Frustration was higher during manual driving when fatigued, but also higher during automated driving when rested. Subjective fatigue and the percentage of eye closure (PERCLOS) were higher in the automated mode compared to manual driving mode. PERCLOS differences between the automated and manual mode were higher in the fatigued condition than in the rested condition. There was a significant interaction effect of age and automation on drivers’ PERCLOS. These results are important for the development of driver-centered automation because they show different benefits for drivers of different ages, depending on their condition (fatigued or rested).

This is the first phase of a three-phase study that examined the effectiveness and reliability of alertness monitoring and warning devices for locomotive engineers. Four university students participated in this initial phase. Two experimental sessions were run for each participant, once during dayshift hours (9am to either 1pm or 5pm) and once during nightshift hours (10pm until 2am or 6am). They completed a series of vigilance performance tasks throughout their 4-hour or 8-hour experimental session. A conventional electro-mechanical alerter commonly found on board a locomotive was used for one of the two sessions, while a novel simple cognitive-based task was used for the other session. The Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT) and percent eye closure (PERCLOS) were used as measures of alertness. As expected, PERCLOS and performance task reaction time (RT) increased throughout the night sessions. Furthermore, it was found that when participants were exposed to the cognitive-based alerter, they had lower PERCLOS values throughout the night sessions and shorter vigilance task RT throughout the day sessions than when they were exposed to the conventional alerter. These results are discussed with respect to adaptive automation and their potential implications.

Tikslas. Išanalizuoti literatūros duomenis apie naujos kartos progestogeninį kontraceptinį preparatą Zlynda. Tyrimo metodai. Litertūros analizė „Pubmed“ domenų bazėje. Rezultatai. Kontraceptinis veiksmingumas, matuojamas Perlo indeksu (0,73), yra aukštas ir gali būti lyginamas su sudėtinėmis kontraceptinėmis tabletėmis. Antsvoris ir nutukimas neturi įtakos preparato poveikiui. Klinikiniuose tyrimuose su 4 mg nemikronizuotu drospirenonu neužfiksuota nė vieno tromboembolijų atvejo. Išvados. Naujas kontraceptinis preparatas be estrogeninio komponento, sudarytas iš 4 mg nemikronizuoto drospirenono yra inovatyvus produktas, turintis daug pranašumų, lyginant su kitais rinkoje esančiais geriamaisiais kontraceptikais.

In this paper, we study a coupled fully hybrid system of (k,Φ)–Hilfer fractional differential equations equipped with non-symmetric (k,Φ)–Riemann-Liouville (RL) integral conditions. To prove the existence and uniqueness results, we use the Krasnoselskii and Perov fixed-point theorems with Lipschitzian matrix in the context of a generalized Banach space (GBS). Moreover, the Ulam–Hyers (UH) stability of the solutions is discussed by using the Urs’s method. Finally, an illustrated example is given to confirm the validity of our results.
