Résumé :
The goal of the paper is to present spatial diversity in the use of flexible forms of employment with special emphasis on part-time work among women and men aged 50+ in the European Union. Demographic changes, including the ageing of the EU population, show the necessity of rationally utilizing available labour resources. Because the level of occupational activity is declining with age, while the share of people aged 50+ in the population is growing, the possibility of doing parttime work that allows reconciliation between occupational life and non-occupational life seems important. This form of employment can also constitute an important transitional stage between occupational activity and retirement. The analyses presented in the paper are based on data from Eurostat and include the years between 2003 and 2017. The conducted studies show significantdifferences in the utilization of part-time work in EU countries especially when age and gender are taken into consideration.

Résumé :
The Professional Development for Special Educators program was first developed in 1986 as a response to a need within the Archdiocese of Canberra-Goulburn. At that time the Archdiocese employed approximately 40 full-time and/or parttime Special Education Resource Teachers to work in regular primary schools. In the preceding years the following had become apparent: •the nature of the role of the special educator in the regular school was changing;•the expectations of the special educator, held by classroom teachers and principals, were diverse and at times unclear;•the special educator was often unsure of his/her role and of how best to respond to the needs within the school;•the level of expertise and experience of the special educators varied greatly.

Résumé :
Purpose – The commitment of service employees to an organization is a critical concern that affects the success of an organization. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether the social bonds between the supervisor and the employee, and among employees, foster organizational commitment in employees. The study subsequently explored the moderating role of work status (full-time vs parttime) and employee individualistic values in the relationship between social bonding and commitment. Design/methodology/approach – Empirical data were collected from the frontline employees of restaurants in Taiwan (n=395). Hierarchical moderated regression analysis was used to examine the relationship between social bonds and relationship commitment and the moderating effect of work status and individualistic values on the social bonding-commitment relationship. Findings – The results show that social bonding is an antecedent to organizational commitment, and work status and individualistic values moderate the social bonding-commitment relationship. The effect of social bonding on organizational commitment is stronger for full-time and less individualistic employees than for part-time and more individualistic employees. Originality/value – This research contributes to knowledge of the effect of social bonding on employee organizational commitment, and provides evidence showing that work status and employee values affect the social bonding-commitment relationship.

Résumé :
ABSTRACTThe article highlights the discordance between the reality and the perception of women's independence and equality. The changes in legislation and increased female participation in the labour market since the 1960s give the impression of considerable progress. Equal treatment of men and women has been proposed. Evidence from national survey data however, shows that women's income is still lower than men's with no matching increase with age and career. Social security policy has always been based on labour market participation but women's labour market participation is quite different from that of men. Because of childcare responsibilities many women work parttime at some time in their working lives. Equal pay legislation has had little influence on the incomes from part-time work. The failure of real income from part-time work to rise over time has been a major cause along with job segregation and the segmentation of the labour market in maintaining the difference between men's and women's incomes. Women's continued lack of personal income has consequences for the support for women and children, particularly evident in the case of lone mothers. The incomes available to a woman are unlikely to be high enough to provide an adequate independent living standard for herself and any dependent children.

Résumé :
For decades and centuries, spontaneous combustion of minerals occurs, which leads to significant material, economic and environmental damage. Under anthropogenic impact on the subsoil, conditions are created for the active development and opening of cracks as a result of deformation of the rock mass, under the influence of its open and underground parttime work. as a result, the emergence of conditions for the active penetration of atmospheric oxygen from the mine ventilation system and the surface atmosphere along the cracks formed as a result of deformation to sulfur-containing minerals of ores and rocks, prone to oxidation and spontaneous combustion. The mechanism of spontaneous combustion of pyritic rocks in the rock mass during the development of deposits is analyzed. It is proved that in the combined development of pyrite ore deposits, exogenous physicochemical processes must be considered in conjunction with geomechanical processes due to the development of mining operations beyond the open pit contour, aerogasdynamic determined by the method, scheme and ventilation system of an underground mine, as well as thermo-physical processes occurring as a result of exothermic oxidation of sulfides...

Résumé :
Computerization and digitization are effects and the engines of development at the same time. Computers surround both work activities and beyond. There are several benefits available, including the faster, easier, and cheaper way of managing our tasks. However, there are undesirable health impacts to consider, but these are less pronounced. Exploring these impacts and preventing the occurrence is essential for improving the efficiency of computerization. The study focuses on the effects of computer work by analyzing its exhausting characteristics and the tiredness or pain in different body parts. The research method uses a survey of full-time and parttime higher education students. The sample consists of 200 randomly selected responses collected between 2018 and 2019. It allows analyzing the differences of perceptions between respondents with and without job experience. Beyond descriptive statistics, ANOVA and correlation analysis was conducted for exploring the relations. Data analysis was supported by IBM SPSS version 25. The results show that the perceived undesirable health impacts are timeless and ageless. Eye-related problems, as well as back and shoulder, are considered the most critical by the respondents. The main implication of the study is that more attention must be paid to the field, appearing in regulations and developing training programs for computer users. The results presented in this paper aim to highlight the importance of the prevention of harmful symptoms of computer work, which are not in the mainstream right now.

Résumé :
In New Zealand, as in many other western societies, the higher education system has become an increasingly less secure place in which to work, and over 40 per cent of those teaching in New Zealand higher education are sessional staff of some kind. Our university in New Zealand has long relied on parttime paid tutors, many of whom are students themselves, to deliver part of the teaching in large courses. These tutors work with groups of students facilitating their learning in workshops, seminars, laboratories and a variety of other teaching environments. We have tracked the experiences of tutors over a significant period of time, and surveys of tutors’ experiences since 2007 reveal that the majority of respondents hold tight to the hope of a future academic career. They regard tutoring as good preparation for an academic career, and many report being even more committed to pursuing an academic career since beginning tutoring. How can we best support tutors to navigate their way into an academic career that might look somewhat different from the one they set out to pursue? This paper shares data and insights from our longitudinal research with tutors, and encourages those supporting sessional staff to think about how to enable tutors to take a scholarly approach to their teaching, regardless of the career path they eventually take.

Résumé :
The current labour market has many forms of employment relations that differ from full-time employment. "Atypical," "non-standard," or even "marginal" are terms used to describe these new workers and include, amongst others, parttime work, contract work, self-employment, temporary, fixed-term, seasonal, casual, piece-rate work, employees supplied by employment agencies, home workers and those employed in the informal economy. These workers are often paid for results rather than time. Their vulnerability is linked in many instances to the absence of an employment relationship or the existence of a flimsy one. Most of these workers are unskilled or work in sectors with limited trade union organisation and limited coverage by collective bargaining, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation. They should, in theory, have the protection of current South African labour legislation, but in practice the unusual circumstances of their employment render the enforcement of their rights problematic. The majority of non-standard workers in South Africa are those previously disadvantaged by the apartheid regime, compromising women and unskilled black workers. The exclusion of these workers from labour legislation can be seen as discrimination, which is prohibited by almost all labour legislation in South Africa. This contribution illustrates how the concept of indirect discrimination can be an important tool used to provide labour protection to these workers. The purpose of this article is to explore the scope of the extension of labour rights to non-standard workers in the context of South African labour laws and the international framework.

Résumé :
The aim of this study is to assess the relationship between temporary part-time employment and the wages male employees receive in subsequent full-time employment within the first five and the first ten years from the date of starting their full-time employment. The study uses data from the German labour market, obtained from the Socio-Economic Panel for the years 1984–2014. The fixed effects estimator, which solves the unobserved heterogeneity issue by removing time-invariant individual effects by a ‘within’ transformation, was applied in the empirical analysis. The results indicate that having experience as a part-time worker is associated with lower future wages – a one-year increase in the number of years in part-time work in the last two to five years leads to a reduction in future wages in a full-time job by 4.4% on average, compared to having solely a full-time job experience. However, this relationship becomes statistically insignificant after five years of being employed full-time. The results are robust to different specifications and it is indicated that an inverse relationship between working below regular hours and future wages in full-time employment is related to working parttime in low- and medium-skilled occupations. At the same time, working part-time is less detrimental to future wages than periods of unemployment.

Résumé :
Managing stocks in crisis is an effective method of providing sustainable functioning of the company and maintaining sales on the necessary level. To arrange this process it is essential to identify groups of products bringing high profit, products being in demand and products, which should be denied, as their sales are no higher than 2% of the total sales. The authors consider management of finished commodity stocks as a method to provide sustainability in crisis, in particular, pandemic. At the same time they highlight the key factors of stock monitoring, including possibility to build-up moderate stocks of free cash, methods of building-up and gaining commodity stocks, keep the balance between stock costs and costs of their maintenance, etc. To raise the efficiency of stock management the authors propose the following solutions for accumulating cash: crediting as the easiest way of raising funds to get stocks, which can affect negatively the finance sustainability of the organization; emergency meeting of proprietors and informing them about the strategy of crisis counteracting, including delay of paying dividends; building-up the urgent reserve and discharging unnecessary employees or transferring them on parttime work; discounts and sales, which can clear stock-houses and get needed funds. The article gives classification of products proceeding from 5 groups: leading products, accompanying products, substitutes, complex products and status products, each of the groups was characterized.

Résumé :
The desire to control health care costs in Canada has led to reductions in postgraduate training posts and physician immigration. To determine the possible effects of these cutbacks on pediatric manpower, a country-wide study was conducted to assess the practice patterns and productivity of Canadian pediatricians. Of the 1960 pediatricians in Canada, 69% completed and returned our questionnaire. Practice descriptions were as follows: 37% practice primary, 25% secondary, and 38% tertiary care. A total of 70% of Canadian pediatricians are men, although this will change with time because 49% of pediatricians younger than 35 years of age are women. Clinical productivity was assessed by five indices: number of clinical hours, patients seen, consultations provided, and hours on call per week, and number of hospital admissions per year. Younger pediatricians were significantly less clinically productive than older pediatricians. Age-matched groups of female pediatricians were significantly less clinically productive than their male counterparts in three of the five indices assessed. Overall, female pediatricians were significantly more likely to work part-time than were male pediatricians (22% vs 16%, P < .05). When the clinical productivity of parttime pediatricians was assessed, there was no male to female difference noted. However, among full-time pediatricians, men worked significantly more clinical hours per week and saw significantly more patients than did women (P < .05). According to results, women pediatricians were more satisfied with their practice now than when starting practice than were men (47% vs 41%). A dramatic decline has been projected in the number of tertiary care pediatricians in the province of Ontario during the next two decades as a result of government cutbacks in pediatric trainees and reduced physician immigration. When coupled to a slightly lesser clinical productivity, a sharp decline in accessibility of subspecialty care for Canadian children in the future is likely to occur.

Résumé :
Analysis of some practical and theoretical issues of administrative responsibility for violation of limitations on part-time job and combination of duties with different types of activity was made. Research on certain features of current corruption-related offenses was done. Prominent existing issues of current administrative legislation provisions on definition of constitutive signs of violation of limitations on part-time job and combination of duties with different types of activity were detected. Fight against corruption is a tight, combined and long-lasting case that can be solved in case of compliance of legislation which determine an order, as well as of successful operation of authorities responsible for anticorruption and judicial sphere. One of the reasonable steps to consolidate state control on activity of official, who performs functions of state or local government was to provide liability for violation of limitations on parttime job and combination of duties with different activity. Given this, to assure other law subjects to exactly applicate similar law there is a need to have a clear and expressive legislative concept. It was determined that some basic features of concepts of part-time job and combination of duties are of joint nature and some of features vary. Administrative law provisions theoretical aspect and Ukrainian legislation that defines part-time job and combination of duties concepts were analyzed. In conclusion, part-time job and combination of duties mainly differs in that that: during combination of duties person can work in different occupation, post, unlike part-time job; extra job is performed during combination at the same firm, agency or institution, when part-time job can be performed at another agency or institution;during combination of duties performance of different duties should be on the regular basis; combination of duties is realizable only in free from main job time, unlike part-time job; during part-time job payment for other job is individual, unlike combination of duties, where for combination of duties of certain position (post), as well as of temporarily absent worker only additional pay is provided to the salary on the main post.

Résumé :
Analysis based on state statistics and survey data of RLMS for 2016 on 30–39-year-olds with higher education, who completed part-time and completed full-time education in universities, allows to detect the degree of commonality/differences in their socio-demographic characteristics, educational path, employment status and subjective evaluations. “Part-timers” are older, among them the proportion of women, residents of villages and settlements, who are married and have children, is higher. They study more often in rural schools and graduate from 9 rather than 11 grades; more than a half go to university after receiving a secondary vocational education. “Part-timers” are very slightly different from “Full-timers” in main indicators of labor activity: share of employed is slightly higher, one of the unemployed is lower; more often work in formally organized jobs. The first ones are distributed on somewhat lower statuses: the share of highly qualified specialists (which is formally provided by diploma) is lower and the share of workers is slightly higher. There is much more unity than differences in subjective assessments of their work by “Parttimers” and “Full-timers “. Almost three quarters are satisfied with working conditions and 7–10% are not; the ratio of satisfied to unsatisfied wages is 45 to 30%. At the same time, “Part-timers” have a small margin of positive ratings. Ideas about their place in some social hierarchies are also very close in both groups.

Résumé :
Substantial gender disparities in career advancement are still apparent, for instance in the gender pay gap, the overrepresentation of women in parttime work, and the underrepresentation of women in managerial positions. Regarding the developmental origins of these gender disparities, the current study examined whether children’s views about future career and family involvement were associated with children’s own gender schemas (gender stereotypes, gender identity) and parents’ career- and family-related gender roles. Participants were 142 Dutch families with a child between the ages of 6 and 12 years old (M = 9.80, SD = 1.48, 60% girls). The families had different compositions (1 parent, 2 parents, 1 to 3 children). Children completed a computer task assessing gender stereotypes about toys and questionnaires on gender identity (i.e., felt similarity to same- and other-gender children) and their views about future career and family involvement. Parents reported their occupation, work hours, and task division in the home, which were combined in a composite variable reflecting gender-typicality of career and family involvement. Generalized estimation equations were used to take into account dependency between family members. Results revealed that parents’, and especially mothers’, gender-typical career and family involvement was associated with children’s gender-typical views about future career and family involvement. In addition, children’s felt similarity to the same gender was associated with children’s gender-typical expectations about career and family involvement. These findings suggest that parents’ career, work hours, and task division in the home, together play an important role in how their children envision their future work and family roles. Children themselves also play an active role in developing this vision for the future by their own gender identity, specifically by how similar they feel to individuals of the same gender. To reduce gender disparities in the occupational and domestic domain, programs need to be designed that focus on parental role modeling in the family as well as children’s gender identity development.

Résumé :
Abstract Background According to the Italian Ministry of Health, the presence of women in the National Health System has increased. While women now represent the majority (69%) of healthcare workers (HCW) in Italy, and females make up 50% of medical doctors, only 18% of health unit directors are women. In Tuscany, there are 56.207 HCW, 72% of which are women. The objective of this study was to investigate the role of gender in the healthcare workforce, taking into account the issues of sharing caring responsibilities. Methods Between January and February 2022, the Tuscany Regional Institute for Economic Planning conducted a cross-sectional study among its HCW. An internally validated questionnaire was sent to the HCW to investigate working life, in particular schedule shift (fulltime or parttime) and night shifts; data were collected online anonymously and then analyzed with STATA. We performed logistic regression adjusting for age, gender, having children (<14 yo) and caring for a family member. Results 15.631 HCW answered the questionnaire: 76% were female, 23% were male and 1% preferred to not specify their sex. 73% of women and 65% of men have at least one child. 18% of women and 13% of men have at least one child and care for a family member. Those who have at least one child (adjOR=1.52 95%CI 1.26-1.83) or care for a family member (aOR 1.49 1.27-1.75) are more likely to work part-time, especially women (aOR 2.33 1.87-2.91). Moreover, those who have at least one child (aOR=0.90 0.83-0.97) or care for a family member (aOR 0.89 0.82-0.96) are less likely to work the night shifts, especially women (aOR 0.90 0.83-0.98). Conclusions Our analysis shows that under the same conditions, women end up sacrificing their work more than their male colleagues. It is necessary to implement policies that encourage equitable sharing of caring responsibilities, fostering fairer work opportunities for women in the health system, including in positions of leadership, to overcome the gender gap. Key messages • The gender gap persists in the health personnel system. • It is necessary to encourage equitable sharing of caring responsibilities, ensuring women hold leadership positions.

Trefwoorden: professionele relatie, pedagogisch, hulpverlening, onderwijs, professionele kennis Abstract The involvement and connection of professional educators and care providers with children, adolescents and adults in a position of dependence, is of obvious importance. Besides a warm heart, dealing with relationships also requires professional knowledge and skills to lay a solid foundation for further professional practice. This is in the client’s interest, but also in that of the professional educator. Too often it is assumed that relational competencies can be reduced to a general human skill that is already there. However, relational work requires specific education and professional training. This, in turn, asks for well-developed theory about the professional relationship between care provider and client, including empirical support, which is conspicuously lacking in many fields of care. This article explores what conceptualization and research on affective teacher-student relationships based on attachment theory, and its elaboration in measuring instruments and relationship interventions could mean for other fields.
Informal caregivers in Europe: The role of paid work, generosity of formal health care and national care norms Informal caregivers in Europe: The role of paid work, generosity of formal health care and national care norms This study answers the question why some individuals are informal caregivers and others are not, and why some informal caregivers spend more hours on their caregiving task than others. In particular, it studies the role of paid work, generosity of formal health care and the presence of a strong care norm in the country. Results were based on multilevel analyses on the European Quality of Life Survey 2012 (30,999 respondents of whom 4,377 were informal caregivers). On average, 14.6% of the population aged 18 to 65 in European countries were informal caregivers, and they spent on average 12.3 hours a week on informal caregiving. Generally, paid work was negatively related to (intensive) informal caregiving. Fulltimers were found to be informal caregiver less often than parttimers and housewives, but equally often as retired, unemployed, disabled people. Within the group of informal caregivers, fulltimers spent fewer hours on caregiving than parttimers; housewives and retired people spent most hours on caregiving. A generous health care system and a strong family norm in a country did not correlate with the odds of being an informal caregiver, but were significantly related to intensity of informal caregiving: generosity of health care related negatively and a strong family norm related positively with the intensity of informal caregiving.

Résumé :
Employment is such kind of a very rare opportunity for the poors unable to attend formal schoolings. This research is examining the implementation effectiveness of skills based education program designed by the government through grant and scholarship to reduce the poverty and unemployment. It also tries to compare the design and its result to find whether the program was effectivey implemented or not. This research uses qualitative method through CIPP evaluation model. The research found that in a policy layer, context and input evaluation steps, the life skills education program is comprehensively thought and considered as it covers aspects including the regulation, the program guidance, the fund aids, the curriculla, the guide for selected institutions ,the report mechanism. While at the process and product evalauation steps, the reserach found that there were huge gaps in implementation especially at the placement at the industries. There were only less than 10% of participants entering to work fields while most of its program participants work only as a parttimers which don’t provide reguler income,.So the target of decreasing the poverty and reducing the unemployment was not well measured.
