Abstract The paper focuses on the possibility of evaluating the influence of character of the soil to oscillations velocity induced dynamic loads. Mathematical modeling is used to solve the parametric study. Models are created in software Plaxis 2d based on finite element method. Dynamic load is based on experimental measurements on the stand in the area of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VSB-TUO. Soil properties are determined from the normative indicative characteristics.

Abstract In this contribution, a combined experimental and numerical study to assess the cracking resistance of cement-based materials subjected to desiccation is outlined. Experimentally, the tendency to hygral cracking is determined by means of mortar ring specimens exposed to drying atmosphere. A numerical model based on the nonlinear theory of diffusion and nonlinear fracture mechanics is developed. The relevant hygral and mechanical parameters and laws needed for the model have been determined by means of adequate experiments analyzed by inverse analyses. The hygro-mechanical behaviour of two different types of mortar is studied. Numerical results have been compared to experimental findings. Furthermore, a parametric study has been carried out with the aim to characterize the relevant material parameters influencing shrinkage cracking. It can be concluded that a combination of experimental and numerical methods can play a decisive role in optimizing mortars or concretes with respect to predefined and required material properties. In this way, the durability of concrete structures can be significantly enhanced.

ABSTRAK. Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode Desain Parametrik untuk studi bentuk bangunan bertingkat banyak. Rhinoceros dan Grasshopper digunakan sebagai alat studi bentuk bangunan bertingkat banyak. Desain parametrik dilakukan dengan parameter, yaitu berupa bentuk lantai dasar, jumlah lantai, ketebalan lantai, jarak antar lantai, derajat putar, dan olah bentuk. Eksperimen ditunjukkan dengan jumlah alternatif yang dihasilkan dari mengolah nilai parameter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan gambaran proses mendesain bangunan berlantai banyak menggunakan metode desain parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kreativitas dalam mengolah bentuk dasar menjadi bentuk bangunan bertingkat banyak.Kata kunci: Desain Parametrik, Software Rhinoceros dan Grasshopper, Bangunan Bertingkat Banyak ABSTRACT. The researcher has used the Parametric Design method to do form studies of a multi-story building. The Rhinoceros and Grasshopper software have been used as a design tool. Design parameters were ground floor shapes, number of floors, the thickness of the story, the distance between levels, degree of rotation, and graph mapper. The experimental results are indicated by the number of alternatives generated from processing parameter values. The purpose of this study is to get a description of the process of designing many-story buildings using parametric design methods. Maximum temperature, minimum temperature and rainfall of Anand, Junagadh, Mahuva, Navsari and SK Nagar stations of Gujarat were analyzed on seasonal (winter, summer, monsoon and postmonsoon) and annual time scales using long period data. Linear regression/least squares time series slope (parameteric) and Theil-Sen slope (non-parameteric) were used to investigate the trends of climate va riability. Parametric and non-parametric trend analysis showed fair agreement in result except some cases where the non-parametric approach revealed very high magnitude in slope. During winter season minimum temperature is increasing and maximum temperature is decreasing at Junagadh. At Mahuva minimum temperature is decreasing and maximum temperature is increasing during summer. Only Anand station showed statistically significant increasing annual trend for minimum and maximum temperatures. There was no significant trend for any temperature time series of SK Nagar station. The rainfall of Saurashtra region (Junagadh and Mahuva) showed increasing trend. The impact of increasing temperature on different crops was found negative while decreasing temperature was found positive in most of crop studied.

The aim of this study was to determine whether the pelvic lymph nodes would predict the parametrial status in patients with cervical cancer stages IB1–IIA submitted to radical surgery and pelvic lymphadenectomy. To this end, we evaluated the relationship between positive and negative pelvic lymph nodes and their parametria. Our final purpose was to use this information to recommend the tailoring of the parametrial resection according to the status of pelvic lymph nodes to decrease the morbidity related with radical paratrectomy. From January 1996 to December 2001, 107 consecutive patients with cervical cancer stages IB1 and IIA were primarily treated by radical hysterectomy type III with systematic pelvic lymphadenectomy in a prospective study. Parametria were studied in two sections: the first included the tissue adjacent to the cervix, and the second the distal 2/3. Lymph nodes were routinary processed. Twenty-two patients (20.6%) had positive pelvic nodes and 16 patients (14.9%) had parametrial involvement, mostly by direct extension. Eight patients with positive pelvic nodes (36.4%) had parametrial involvement, whereas among 85 patients with negative pelvic nodes only eight patients (9.4%) had parametrial involvement (P < 0.001), most in internal parametria (62.5%). The sensitivity of pelvic lymph nodes for parametrial involvement was 50% and the positive predictive value was 36.4%, whereas the specificity was 84.6%; and the negative predictive value 90.6%. In the group of negative pelvic lymph nodes, only two patients (2.3%) had parametrial involvement beyond internal parametria. The univariated and multivariated analysis of prognostic factors was always significant but without a significant independent factor for positive parametria. Pelvic lymph nodes appear as good predictors of parametrial status, especially in node-negative patients, and could be used to decrease the paratrectomy in radical surgery.

Tujuan dan Latarbelakang: Kajian ini bertujuan membuat penambahbaikan pengiraan indeks keterangkuman kewangan dengan mengambilkira dimensi teknologi kewangan digital (fintech) dan menggunakan data daripada sebelah penawaran (supply-side) dan permintaan (demand-side) yang melibatkan negara sedang membangun terpilih bagi tahun 2014 dan 2017 (68 buah negara). Metodologi: Untuk mengukur indeks keterangkuman kewangan, kajian ini menggabungkan kaedah bukan-parametrik melalui model ukuran multidimensi dan kaedah parametrik Analisis Komponen Utama (PCA). Dapatan: Keputusan empirik kajian dengan menggunakan analisis PCA mendapati bahawa indeks keterangkuman kewangan yang dikemukakan dengan penambahbaikan dimensi fintech mempunyai kepentingan relatif dan hubungan yang signifikan terhadap tahap keterangkuman kewangan. Kajian ini menunjukkan nilai indeks yang tinggi menggambarkan tahap keterangkuman kewangan yang baik dan inklusif, manakala nilai indeks yang rendah adalah sebaliknya. Sumbangan: Implikasi daripada kajian ini menunjukkan kepentingan penggubal dasar untuk membentuk strategi dalam konteks keterangkuman kewangan di sesebuah negara. Selain itu, akses kepada perkhidmatan teknologi kewangan digital harus diperluaskan untuk meningkatkan tahap kewangan yang lebih inklusif dan mencapai keterangkuman kewangan sempurna. ABSTRACT Background and Purpose: This paper aims to improve the construction of the index of financial inclusion with digital financial technology (fintech) dimensions, using supply-side and demand-side data from selected developing countries for 2014 and 2017 (68 countries). Methodology: To measure the index of financial inclusion, this study combines non-parametric methods through the multidimensional measurement model proposed by Mandira Sarma (2012) and the Principle Component Analysis (PCA) as a parametric method. Findings: The empirical findings of the study using PCA analysis found that improvement on proposed index of financial inclusion using fintech dimensions has a relative importance and significant relationship to the level of financial inclusiveness. This study shows that the higher index value reflecting the more inclusive of financial inclusion, while the lower index value is vice versa. Contributions: This study concludes that it is important for policy makers to shape policies and strategies within the context of financial inclusion in a country. In addition, access to digital financial technology services should be expanded to increase the level of financial inclusiveness and achieve complete financial inclusion. Abstract:. Recent trends and rapid developments in computing gives tremendous impact in many disciplines beside computer science. Architecture is one of disciplines that have undergone an evolution in paradigm as a result of this development. Parametric design is one of the approaches used in architectural design which lead to the advance circumtances in design process. This approach adopts some of designer-friendly programming language where architects can utilize unlimited computation abilities from computers in search of design solutions by designing their parametric definitions or rules. This article will discuss about the parametric approach to the design of multi-storey building buildings. The case study in this research is the design competition of ASEAN Secretariat building (ESAC) organized by Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) Jakarta. The Grasshopper platform is used to explore for building form (form-finding) that maximize the view toward its site. A simple radiation analysis is also conducted in this design process using the plug-in called Ladybug + Honey bee and Multi-Objecive Optimization using Octopus plug-in, to look for minimal radiation that is affected by the location of the building form. Parametrik desain merupakan salah satu pendekatan yang digunakan dalam desain arsitektur. Pendekatan ini mengadopsi bahasa pemrograman dimana arsitek dapat memanfaatkan kemampuan menghitung yang tidak terbatas dari komputer dalam mencari solusi desain dengan merancang definisi parametriknya. Artikel ini akan membahas mengenai pendekatan parametrik pada desain bangunan gedung berlantai banyak. Studi kasus pada penelitian ini adalah sayembara desain gedung sekretariat ASEAN Jakarta yang diselenggarakan Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) Jakarta. Platform Grasshopper digunakan untuk mencari gubahan masa yang dapat memaksimalkan view dan bentuk terhadap tapaknya. Analisa radiasi sederhana juga dilakukan pada proses ini dengan menggunakan plug-in Ladybug + Honey bee dan Multi-Objecive Optimization dengan menggunakan plugin Octopus, untuk mencari radiasi minimal yang dipengaruhi oleh bentuk dan letak bangunan yang didesain. AbstractThe paper is devoted to issues of estimating free surface elevations in rigid cylindrical fluid-filled tanks under external loadings. The possibility of baffles installation is provided. The liquid vibrations caused by lateral and longitudinal harmonic loadings are under consideration. Free, forced and parametrical vibrations are examined. Modes of the free liquid vibrations are considered as basic functions for the analysis of forced and parametric vibrations. The modes of the free liquid vibrations in baffled and un-baffled cylindrical tanks are received by using single-domain and multi-domain boundary element methods. Effects of baffle installation are studied. The problems of forced vibrations are reduced to solving the systems of second order ordinary differential equations. For parametric vibrations the system of Mathieu equations is obtained. The numerical simulation of free surface elevations at different loadings and baffle configurations is accomplished. Beat phenomena effects are considered under lateral harmonic excitations. The phenomenon of parametric resonance is examined under longitudinal harmonic excitations.

Abstrak. Regresi semiparametrik merupakan model regresi yang memuat komponen parametrik dan komponen nonparametrik dalam suatu model. Pada penelitian ini digunakan model regresi semiparametrik spline untuk data longitudinal dengan studi kasus penderita Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) di Rumah Sakit Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar periode bulan Januari sampai bulan Maret 2018. Estimasi model regresi terbaik didapat dari pemilihan titik knot optimal dengan melihat nilai Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) dan Mean Square Error (MSE) yang minimum. Komponen parametrik pada penelitian ini adalah hemoglobin (g/dL) dan umur (tahun), suhu tubuh ( ), trombosit ( ) sebagai komponen nonparametrik dengan nilai GCV minimum sebesar 221,67745153 dicapai pada titik knot yaitu 14,552; 14,987; dan 15,096; nilai MSE sebesar 199,1032; dan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 75,3% yang diperoleh dari model regresi semiparametrik spline linear dengan tiga titik knot..Kata Kunci: regresi semiparametrik, spline, knot, Generalized Cross Validation, Demam Berdarah Dengue.Abstract. Semiparametric regression is a regression model that includes parametric and nonparametric components in it. The regression model in this research is spline semiparametric regression with case studies of patients with Dengue Hemorrahagic Fever (DHF) at University of Hasanuddin Makassar Hospital during the period of January to March 2018. The best regression model estimation is obtained from the selection of optimal knot which has minimum Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) and Mean Square Error (MSE). Parametric component in this research is hemoglobin (g/dL) and age (years), body temperature ( ), platelets ( ) as a nonparametric components. The minimum value of GCV is 221,67745153 achieved at the point 14,552; 14,987; and 15,096 knot; MSE value of 199,1032; and the value of coefficient determination is 75,3% obtained from semiparametric regression model linear spline with third point of knots.Keywords: semiparametric regression, spline, knot, Generalized Cross Validation, Dengue Hemorrahagic Fever.

The quantum version of parametric resonance of the harmonic oscillator is studied in terms of Feynman's propagator method and a discrete map. The eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the Floquet operator are derived explicitly. The solutions follow the general laws: In the regions of parametric resonance the spectrum of the Floquet operator becomes continuous, while it is pointlike in the stable regimes. The Gaussian wave packet undergoes spreading exponentially and linearly in the two regimes, respectively.

Semiparametric regression model estimation is an estimation that combines both parametric and nonparametric regression model. In semiparametric regression, some of the variables are parametrics and the others are nonparametrics. Semiparametric regression is used when relationship pattern between independent and depentdent variables is half known and half unknown. Regression curve smoothing technique in nonparametric components in this study was using uniform kernel function. The optimal semiparametric regression curve estimation was obtained by optimal bandwidth. By choosing optimal bandwidth, we would obtain a smooth regression curve estimation in respect to data pattern. In choosing optimal bandwidth, we use minimum GCV as a criteria.The purpose of this study was to estimate the semiparametric regression function of dengue fever case using uniform kernel estimator. There were 6 independent variables namely age (in years) body temperature (in Celcius), heartbeat (in times/minutes) hematocryte ratio (in percent), amount of trombocyte (× 103/ul) and fever duration ( in days). Age, body temperature, heartbeat, amount of trombosyte and fever duration are parametric components and hematocryte ration is a nonparametric component. The optimal bandwidth (h) which was obtained with minimum GCVwas 0,005. The value of MSE which was obtained by using multiple linear regression analysis was 0,031 and by using semiparametric regression was 0,00437119.

When designing the large crampoon, we use the parametric design method to auto-form the 3D target crampoon model by constructing a interface software protype with which the crampoon demension parameters can be converted into some related program variables. That method not only improves the crampoon design efficiency and accuracy, but also provides some useful referenced experience to parametrical system design of other parts. Parametrization design has a wide application prospect in the field of mechanical parts designing.

This article presents the research results of parametric and non-parametric identification methods of the technological models of well operation using electric submersible pump installations. The use of a hybrid approach is proposed, combining parametric and non-parametric models to obtain accurate models that allow the prediction of well performance parameters. Studies of simulation methods under conditions of interference effect of different level, which are typical for signaling channels of real data management, control systems, and measuring instruments, have been conducted. The combined models proposed have been constructed with the help of the Rosenblatt–Parzen non-parametric regression, parametric models with automatic adaptation of parameters and artificial neural networks. Such combined models have been shown to possess essential generalizing possibilities, allowing for smoothing of parametrical data and the restoration of initial dependences with a significantly smaller error in relation to the disturbing interference. The developed methods and models were implemented for research purposes in the software system, which allows a complex simulation of changes in parameters during well operation using the electric submersible pump installations. To evaluate the results’ statistical significance, methods of statistical processing have been applied using ANOVA. The results demonstrate that for an effective solution to the problem of the process simulation of well operation and to ensure high adaptability of the models, the combined approach is the most effective method. Models on the basis of artificial neural networks after adjustment allow us to improve the efficiency of the solution to the prediction problem and at the same time have necessary flexibility for adaptation of the computational structure under the conditions of changing performance parameters. The parametric block of models allows us to use a priori information about dependences of performance parameters and to identify reasonably accurate the drift of parameters under the conditions of instability of the process under study.

Implementation of parametric design (3ds Max, Cinema4D) related subjects in the study process is in alarming situation because of the University’s and even national policy. Nevertheless, its wide usage, at least in the visual presentation of architectural projects, strongly suggests that graduates need to have knowledge of these technologies as it is often required in the general practice. However, the different concepts of BIM and parametric design modelling practice makes the study load too heavy for the students. Thus, it is vital to find a balanced solution for both of these subjects to be presented equally during architectural studies at the University. The aim of this paper is to analyse the opportunities and challenges of introducing parallel learning of both software.

The cement industry is one of the most intensive energy consumers in the industrial sectors. The energy consumption represents 40% to 60% of production cost. Additionally, the cement industry contributes around 5% to 8% of all man-made CO2 emissions. Physiochemical and thermochemical reactions involved in cement kilns are still not well understood because of their complexity. The reactions have a decisive influence on energy consumption, environmental degradation, and the cost of cement production. There are technical difficulties in achieving direct measurements of critical process variables in kiln systems. Furthermore, process simulation is used for design, development, analysis, and optimization of processes, when experimental tests are difficult to conduct. Moreover, there are several models for the purpose of studying the use of alternative fuels, cement clinker burning process, phase chemistry, and physical parameters. Nonetheless, most of them do not address real inefficiency taking place in the processes, equipment, and the overall system. This paper presents parametric study results of the four-stage preheater dry Rotary Kiln System (RKS) with a planetary cooler. The RKS at the Mbeya Cement Company (MCC) in Tanzania is used as a case study. The study investigated the effects of varying the RKS parameters against system behaviour, process operation, environment, and energy consumptions. Necessary data for the modelling of the RKS at the MCC plant were obtained either by daily operational measurements or laboratory analyses. The steady-state simulation model of the RKS was carried out through the Aspen Plus software. The simulation results were successfully validated using real operating data. Predictions from parametric studies suggest that monitoring and regulating exhaust gases could improve combustion efficiency, which, in turn, leads to conserving fuels and lowering production costs. Composition of exhaust gases also depends both on the type of fuel used and the amount of combustion air. The volume of exit flue gases depends on the amount of combustion air and infiltrating air in the RKS. The results obtained from the study suggest a potential of coal saving at a minimum of about ṁcoal=1263 kg·h−1, which approximates to 76,126 tons per year at the current kiln feed of 58,000 kg·h-1. Thus, this translates to a specific energy saving of about 1849.12 kJ·kgcl-1, with relatively higher clinker throughput. In this vein, process modelling provides effective, safe, and economical ways for assessing the performance of the RKS.

A parametric study presented in this paper has investigated the interactions between structural properties and dynamic response for a guyed tower platform. The finite element method is introduced to simulate the guyed tower motion response under various environmental conditions. The structural parameters which could significantly influence the motion response are the objectives to be investigated. The topside weight, guyline restraints and P-Δ or B-Δ effects are the vital aspects. A number of model tests were conducted to support and verify the theoretical predictions. The analysis concluded that the guyline stiffness is the most important characteristic which determines the guyed tower motion response.

Parametric resonance has been observed, both numerically and experimentally, in various studies of wave energy converters (WECs). Large heave motions induce a periodic variation in the metacentric height of a WEC body and, consequently, cause a harmonic variation in pitch/roll restoring coefficients, which can parametrically excite the pitch/roll modes. Current studies attempt to determine the onset conditions of parametric resonance, by detecting the boundaries between stable and unstable regions in the parameter space. In the literature, some studies aim to make use of parametric resonance for improving power capture. In contrast, some studies try to suppress the effect of parametric resonance, as it can reduce power capture efficiency in the primary degree of freedom. However, how energy transfers from one mode to another is not fully understood. This study aims to analyse energy transfer between heave and pitch/roll modes when parametric resonance occurs. A generic cylindrical point absorber is studied as a WEC floater to consider non-linear wave-structure interaction, including non-linear Froude-Krylov and viscous forces. A heave-pitch-roll three-degree-of-freedom model is derived for numerical study of the energy transfer between different operational modes.

We performed unilateral or bilateral nerve-sparing (UNS or BNS) radical hysterectomies combined with a parametrial excision in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The parametrial excision technique is characterized by a meticulous sharp dissection of the avascular plane outside the visceral fascia of the uterus and vagina under direct vision, providing an en bloc parametria and ensuring that all regional spread of the disease is contained within negative surgical margins. The aim of this study was to describe this surgical technique and to retrospectively evaluate the feasibility and the impact on early bladder function. From February 2005 to November 2006, 32 patients with FIGO stage IB–IIB cervical cancer, who had the tumor of more than 20 mm in diameter, underwent the UNS surgery or BNS surgery. A parametrial excision was performed in all the patients. The surgical procedure was safely completed in all the patients. Though 14 patients had tumor invasion to the parametria, none of the patients had a positive surgical margin in the parametrium. The bladder function of patients in the UNS group immediately after surgery was more damaged than that in the BNS group. However, all the patients in both groups recovered spontaneous voiding with no need of self-catheterization during the perioperative periods. This preliminary study showed that the surgical technique is feasible and safe. For confirmation of the efficacy of this technique, further large prospective studies are needed.

Pada artikel ini penulis fokus pada perhitungan kebutuhan material pondasi. Tujuannya adalah untuk memberikan gambaran yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana sistem yang menjadi proposal kami bekerja. Selain itu, pengembangan kemampuan dari framework sebelumnya juga salah satu hal yang ingin kami dapatkan pada studi ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode parametrik dengan Rhinoceros Educational versi 6, Grasshopper3D versi 1 serta GHPython. Rhinoceros digunakan untuk membuat desain. Grasshopper3D digunakan untuk membuat algoritma serta GHPyhton untuk membuat komponen-komponen Grasshopper yang lebih efisien sesuai dengan studi kasus. Pada artikel ini kami juga menggunakan spreadsheet yaitu Microsoft Excel untuk tabulasi data perhitungan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kemampuan framework berhasil dikembangkan untuk perbandingan alternatif komponen bangunan. Pada kasus ini perbandingan harga material kota Lhokseumawe antara pondasi menerus dan pondasi tapak pada tiga luas bangunan yaitu 55 m2, 16 m2 dan 36 m2. Perbandingan tersebut menunjukkan pondasi tapak lebih murah dalam hal material dibandingkan dengan pondasi menerus. Kemampuan ini dinilai penting untuk efektifitas pengambilan keputusan yang relevan dengan konteks paska bencana di daerah tertentu. Kemampuan membandingkan ini juga memberikan peluang untuk peningkatan kondisi psikologis dari penerima atau masyarakat yang terdampak oleh bencana. Hal ini disebabkan oleh adaptabilitas yang tinggi dari framework sehingga bisa disesuaikan dengan kondisi yang diinginkan. This paper employed a parametric method using Rhinoceros Educational version 6, Grasshopper3D version 1 and GHPython. Rhinoceros was used for design making. Grasshopper3D was used to construct algorithms and GHPython was utilized for optimized Grasshopper3D components for efficient workflow. Further, this work utilized spreadsheet, which was Microsoft Excel, for estimation data tabulation. The result showed the abilities of the framework was succeeded to be developed for a new feature, which was comparison capability for building components alternative. In this study, the material price comparison for Lhokseumawe between a continuous rock (rubble stone) and footplate foundations for 55 m2, 16 m2, and 36 m2 building area. It was discovered that the footplate foundation cheaper compared to the rubble stone. This capability was significant for an effective decision making in a relevant post-disaster context. The comparison ability had open opportunity to improve the psychological condition for users or societies affected by a disaster. ABSTRACT This article presents the results of a comprehensive geotechnical centrifuge experimental program to investigate topographic effects across a series of single-sided slopes. The experimental campaign considered a range of governing factors, including slope inclination and ground-motion amplitude, frequency content, and duration. The testing program was nondestructive, allowing the centrifuge models to be subjected to over 140 different ground motions. Clear evidence of topographic effects, including amplification and deamplification of ground motion, were observed. Topography modified the frequency content and amplitude of the ground motion such that at the slope crest (1) peak ground accelerations ranged from 50% less than to 200% greater than the free-field, and (2) ground-motion mean square frequency shifted by as much as 55%. Higher topographic amplification levels lead to a larger topographic zone of influence, which, on average, spanned a distance equal to the slope height (H) behind and 2H in front of (toward slope) the slope crest. Physical modeling in the centrifuge proved to be a powerful experimental technique for generating empirical data to analyze topographic effects in a systematic and repeatable manner.
