Abstract Abstract As one of the commodities supporting food security is underdeveloped due to marketing problems. Fluctuating supply and prices of organic rice, weak market information, high transportation costs, organic product certification, and limited capital become the basis for the need for analysis strategy for developing an organic rice market. The purpose of this study are: (1) identify the internal and external environmental factors, (2) formulate the best alternative strategy for the development of the organic rice market in South Lampung Regency. The research was carried out in Candipuro sub-district, based on being a center for organic rice production in South Lampung Regency. The data were analyzed qualitative and quantitative using descriptive analysis, identification of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats using IFE and EFE matrices, to obtain alternative strategies using the IE matrix and SWOT matrix. The results of the analysis show that the main weakness of the organic rice farmer group is the low performance of human resources and the limited number and types of organic products that cause a lack of market share for organic rice. The result of the IE matrix shows that the Mitra Organic Farmer Group is in the position Diversification. This policy needs to be implemented in preparation for broad diversification into various types of business activities that provide opportunities for improving the role of an institution or institution (conglomerate diversification strategy). Alternative strategies formulated based on the SWOT matrix are (1) increasing the number and types of organic products produced/product diversification, and (2) increasing institutional capacity to become cooperatives to optimize the government’s role in market accessibility and funding.

Résumé :
Visible (V), Near Infrared (NIR) and Short Waves Infrared (SWIR) spectroscopy has been indicated as a promising tool in soil studies, especially in the last decade. However, in order to apply this method, it is necessary to develop prediction models with the capacity to capture the intrinsic differences between agricultural areas and incorporate them in the modeling process. High quality estimates are generally obtained when these models are applied to soil samples displaying characteristics similar to the samples used in their construction. However, low quality predictions are noted when applied to samples from new areas presenting different characteristics. One way to solve this problem is by recalibrating the models using selected samples from the area of interest. Based on this premise, the aim of this study was to use the spiking technique and spiking associated with hybridization to expand prediction models and estimate organic matter content in a target area undergoing different uses and management. A total of 425 soil samples were used for the generation of the state model, as well as 200 samples from a target area to select the subsets (10 samples) used for model recalibration. The spectral readings of the samples were obtained in the laboratory using the ASD FieldSpec 3 Jr. Sensor from 350 to 2500 nm. The spectral curves of the samples were then associated to the soil attributes by means of a partial least squares regression (PLSR). The state model obtained better results when recalibrated with samples selected through a cluster analysis. The use of hybrid spectral curves did not generate significant improvements, presenting estimates, in most cases, lower than the state model applied without recalibration. The use of the isolated spiking technique was more effective in comparison with the spiked and hybridized state models, reaching r2, square root of mean prediction error (RMSEP) and ratio of performance to deviation (RPD) values of 0.43, 4.4 g dm−3, and 1.36, respectively.

Abstract: The use of light activated dyes in photomedicine offers the potential to administer to patients an inert compound which can be selectively activated by photoirradiation. Such a process allows for unique control of the photochemotherapeutic process, using techniques to enhance drug targeting and/or selective irradiation of target tissues. Substantial progress has been made iri recent years in developing biologically compatible photosensitizers and in understanding their mechanisms of action. In one field of photcimedicine called Photodynamic Therapy, excitation of the sensitizer leads to the generation of activated oxygen species which then oxidize biological .substrates such as protein and lipids. Since different sensitizers localize in different cell types and in differe-nt subcellular organelles, the mechanisms of cell necrosis may differ. Current research is aimed at better understanding the parameters responsible for these properties of photosensitizers and in expanding the disease indications to which phototherapy can be applied.

Résumé :
Climate problems, the state of the environment, the Covid-19 crisis are the main problems of today that directly affect agricultural production and as a consequence the sustainable development of rural areas. The article analyzes the factors of reorientation of agricultural production to organic production. Emphasis is placed on preserving local agricultural traditions and scientifically sound approaches to organic production to ensure sustainable development of rural areas. Using Forsight research, the relationship between balanced rural development and organic production is predicted. The basic strategies of competition have been identified with the help of the five Porter forces, in order to develop a strategy for successful entry into organic markets and maintaining supply chains during the Covid-19 period. Emphasis is placed on high requirements for agricultural products and compliance with environmental standards in their production, which may be an obstacle to further exports of Ukrainian organic products to the EU market. The relationship between the dynamics of organic production and a set of measures and determinants that determine the natural resources and production and technical conditions of rural development is substantiated using the SMART-method. It is argued that organic production is a resource basis for the development of strategies to increase the production of agricultural products, finished food products and sustainable development of rural areas. The importance of organic production during the COVID-19 crisis is outlined. It is proved that there is practically no alternative to the development of agriculture under the organic scenario in the system of sustainable development of rural areas in the long run.

Résumé :
Glycoproteins and glycopeptides are an interesting focus of research, because of their potential use as therapeutic agents, since they are related to carbohydrate-carbohydrate, carbohydrate-protein, and carbohydrate-lipid interactions, which are commonly involved in biological processes. It has been established that natural glycoconjugates could be an important source of templates for the design and development of molecules with therapeutic applications. However, isolating large quantities of glycoconjugates from biological sources with the required purity is extremely complex, because these molecules are found in heterogeneous environments and in very low concentrations. As an alternative to solving this problem, the chemical synthesis of glycoconjugates has been developed. In this context, several methods for the synthesis of glycopeptides in solution and/or solid-phase have been reported. In most of these methods, glycosylated amino acid derivatives are used as building blocks for both solution and solid-phase synthesis. The synthetic viability of glycoconjugates is a critical parameter for allowing their use as drugs to mitigate the impact of microbial resistance and/or cancer. However, the chemical synthesis of glycoconjugates is a challenge, because these molecules possess multiple reaction sites and have a very specific stereochemistry. Therefore, it is necessary to design and implement synthetic routes, which may involve various protection schemes but can be stereoselective, environmentally friendly, and high-yielding. This review focuses on glycopeptide synthesis by recapitulating the progress made over the last 15 years.

Résumé :
Organic farming is one of the most widely known sustainable models of agricultural production. Success in eco-agriculture also depends greatly on agri-environmental, territorial, economic, social, institutional and spatial conditions. Polish eco-farming is very regionally dispersed and diversified. Regarding the important contribution of organic farming, a better understanding of how this phenomenon develops and which factors affect its spatial distribution can be influential for policymakers in planning strategies that pursue sustainable development objectives in rural areas. This paper assesses the development and analyses the spatial distribution of organic farming in Polish LAU-2. The country’s eco-agriculture was mapped and defined using a synthetic measure, described by 27 sub-measurements of ecological crop cultivation, animal maintenance and eco-production. The local spatial patterns (direction, scale, and range) of organic farming were detected by spatial autocorrelation measurements. The analysis was conducted for the period 2014–2020. Possible external and internal determinants of this spatial dispersion were also defined. The results indicate that the distribution and spread of organic farming in Poland are related to public support, institutional regulations, social considerations, environmental concerns, the local job market and spatial dependencies.

Résumé :
To solve several “inorganic” problems generated recently by community development in China (e.g., waste of social resources, environmental pollution, and decreased economic energy efficiency), focus should be on improving the community traffic organic micro-circulation system. As a historic and mixed functional urban community, the micro-circulation system of Xi'an Railway Bureau exhibits representativeness and complexity. Based on existing research results and years of follow-up investigations, which concentrate on circulation patterns and inherent organic development requirements of the community traffic micro-circulation system, this paper builds an evaluation index system. Value function method was used to implement the index factor quantitative analysis and comprehensive evaluation. Several related strategies were proposed to improve the organic micro-circulation system of the community, which is based on the analysis of the evaluation, in order to adopt the trend in both increasing urban development and stock updating. The analysis results demonstrate that it is necessary to present guiding renewal strategies on community land, road, people, and the environment for those mixed functional communities which use progressive renewed mode. It compensates the problems of overly strong export-oriented system, which is caused by the lack of organic traffic micro-circulation, so as to achieve the selective opening of community external. The study mainly highlights the significance of the systematic analysis of evaluation in influencing strategies on community renewal.

Organic color centers, also known as fluorescent sp3 quantum defects, on single walled carbon nanotubes, have opened exciting opportunities to re-engineer the optical and electronic properties of carbon nanotubes via covalent surface chemistry. Organic color centers produce molecularly tunable fluorescence in the near-infrared, conferring new chemical and optical functionalities that are suitable for biosensing applications. In this talk, we discuss the strategies that enhance the physical stability and optical response of the nanosensors for robust, transient detection of proinflammatory cytokines in biofluids. The sensor technology incorporates functional organic color centers augmented by biodesigned supercharged molecular recognition proteins.

Résumé :
Abstract Despite numerous advantages, applications of conventional microporous metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are hampered by their limited pore sizes, such as in heterogeneous catalysis and guest delivery, which usually involve large molecules. Construction of hierarchically porous MOFs (HP-MOFs) is vital to achieve the controllable augmentation of MOF pore size to mesopores or even macropores, which can enhance the diffusion kinetics of guests and improve the storage capacity. This review article focuses on recent advances in the methodology of HP-MOF synthesis, covering preparation of HP-MOFs with intrinsic hierarchical pores, and modulated, templated and template-free synthetic strategies for HP-MOFs. The key factors which affect the formation of HP-MOF architectures are summarized and discussed, followed by a brief review of their applications in heterogeneous catalysis and guest encapsulation. Overall, this review presents a roadmap that will guide the future design and development of HP-MOF materials with molecular precision and mesoscopic complexity.

Résumé :
One of the concepts explaining the coincidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) is the metaflammation theory. This chronic, low-grade inflammatory state originating from metabolic cells in response to excess nutrients, contributes to the development of T2D by increasing insulin resistance in peripheral tissues (mainly in the liver, muscles, and adipose tissue) and by targeting pancreatic islets and in this way impairing insulin secretion. Given the role of this not related to infection inflammation in the development of both: insulin resistance and insulitis, anti-inflammatory strategies could be helpful not only to control T2D symptoms but also to treat its causes. This review presents current concepts regarding the role of metaflammation in the development of T2D in obese individuals as well as data concerning possible application of different anti-inflammatory strategies (including lifestyle interventions, the extra-glycemic potential of classical antidiabetic compounds, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, immunomodulatory therapies, and bariatric surgery) in the management of T2D.

Résumé :
Organic bioelectronics involves the connection of organic semiconductors with living organisms, organs, tissues, cells, membranes, proteins, and even small molecules. In recent years, this field has received great interest due to the development of all kinds of devices architectures, enabling the detection of several relevant biomarkers, the stimulation and sensing of cells and tissues, and the recording of electrophysiological signals, among others. In this review, we discuss recent functionalization approaches for PEDOT and PEDOT:PSS films with the aim of integrating biomolecules for the fabrication of bioelectronics platforms. As the choice of the strategy is determined by the conducting polymer synthesis method, initially PEDOT and PEDOT:PSS films preparation methods are presented. Later, a wide variety of PEDOT functionalization approaches are discussed, together with bioconjugation techniques to develop efficient organic-biological interfaces. Finally, and by making use of these approaches, the fabrication of different platforms towards organic bioelectronics devices is reviewed.

Résumé :
Development of strategies for molecule functionalization by dearomatization has surged in the last two decades. The benefits of overcoming the resonance stabilization energy outweigh the cost; diverse compounds could be accessed in a short number of steps. One approach that has been of interest in recent years is the dearomatization of indoles and other (hetero)aromatic compounds by migratory insertion. The chiral σ-bond palladium intermediate could be reduced or trapped by a second functionalization. Résumé :
Abstract The demand for organic coffee is increasing in line with increasing competition and consumer preferences for healthier products. On the other hand, the application of organic fertilizers in smallholder coffee plantations is still low. The research aims to map the constraints of organic fertilizers usage and develop strategies to accelerate organic fertilizers application in smallholder coffee plantations. Data analysis was performed using the scoring method. The results showed that farmers applied more inorganic fertilizers. Constraints of organic fertilizers application are related to technical, economic, and institutional aspects. Strategies to optimize the use of organic fertilizers in smallholder coffee plantations include providing capital and financial support with subsidized interest rates and strengthening farmer institutions as the priority. Other strategies include introducing an integrated coffee livestock system and providing local government incentives for promoting and organic certification assistance. Institutions involved in implementing the strategy include local governments, research institutes, financial institutions, coffee processing industries, exporters, extension officers, certification bodies, farmers’ groups, cooperatives, and associations. The strategies are essential to overcome the existing problems and constraints in organic coffee farming development and increase farmers’ interest in applying organic fertilizers.

Résumé :
Critical theory like political ecology and peasant studies point to the insufficiency of adaptation strategies and call for more radical alternatives, such as the abandonment of development strategies based on fossil-fuelled industrialisation and urban-centred economic growth. They favour rural livelihood strategies based on sustainable natural resource management and organic/agro-ecological production, thus combining genuine development with resistance to the hegemony of that neoliberal-driven transformation of fundamental socio-economic structures in developing countries. This is associated with detrimental climatic and ecological consequences. This article offers a theoretical and conceptual framework for understanding the nexus of development, ecology and climate change, and explores significant patterns of community resistance evolving into promising strategies of reactions ‘from below’ against growth-driven development implicating ecocide. Such resistance opposes the regional and global obsession with excessive growth and poses new challenges to the international political system.

Résumé :
Green chemistry plays an important role in the development of sustainable production systems which involves tremendous research efforts on the design of synthetic and analytical techniques through resource-efficient ways. The improvement in synthetic reaction performances encourages the modern society to minimize energy and reagent consumption and waste generation. Explosion of the chemicals are referred as extremely toxic substances and have been allied with major harmful health effects, though no cure has been established due to the lack of curative therapeutic approaches. In view of the facts, green chemistry strategies trigger a new hope in the synthesis of safer biologically active compounds to meet the demands of disease free environment. Here, we highlighted the development of various compounds and greener techniques such as ultrasoundassisted method, microwave-assisted method, green solvent reactions, solvent free reactions, biomolecules and nanoformulations as a new healthy approach.

Résumé :
We present two studies that investigated the adoption of visual/spatial and analytic strategies by individuals at different levels of expertise in the area of organic chemistry, using the Visual Analytic Chemistry Task (VACT). The VACT allows the direct detection of analytic strategy use without drawing inferences about underlying mental processes. The first study examined the psychometric properties of the VACT and revealed a structure consistent with the hypothesis that it consists of two sub-scales: visual/spatial and analytic. The second study investigated the performance of 285 participants with various levels of expertise in organic chemistry on the VACT. The results showed that the adoption of analytic strategies in organic chemistry, and specifically in molecular structure, was difficult and was systematically used only by the more expert participants. The implications of this research for the teaching of chemistry are discussed.
