Abstract Introduction The World Health Organization recommends that infants be exclusively breastfed for at least the first 6 months of life, and then partially breastfed until 2 years of age and onward, if preferred. However, the choice to breastfeed an infant is influenced by cultural, biological, and social factors. For instance, factors which may promote breastfeeding include bedsharing, but the current literature requires more longitudinal examinations and follow-ups. The current project aims to investigate the associations between bedsharing at 6 months and the duration of breastfeeding. Methods The analysis included data from 294 mother-infant dyads (52 bedshared) from the Maternal Adversity, Vulnerability and Neurodevelopment cohort. Maternal reports of their infant’s sleep location were reported at 6 months of infancy. Infants who shared a bed with their mother were considered to bedshare, whereas those who slept in the same room as their mother, in their own room alone, or in their own room with someone else where not considered to bedshare. A retroactive measure of breastfeeding was given to mothers (until infants were 24 months), in which they were asked how old the infant was when they stopped breastfeeding. An independent samples t-test was conducted to compare breastfeeding duration between infants who bedshare and those who do not. Results Bedsharing infants were breastfed for a longer period (in months; M=12.87, SD=5.21) than infants who did not bedshare (M=10.64, SD=3.97; t(292)=-3.48, p=<.001). Conclusion These results show that infants who bedshare with their mother are likely to be breastfed for about 2 months more. These results provide support for the protective nature of bedsharing at 6 months on breastfeeding duration. Given these potential benefits, these results highlight the need for clear recommendations for parents to safely practice bed sharing if they are willing to use this sleeping arrangement. Self-regulation for pre-school children is very important to support children’s adjustments in all situations and conditions. The current problem is the instrument of self-regulation is more focused on regulation in learning which is not suitable for young children. This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of Preschool Self-Regulation Assessment (PSRA) in Indonesia by modifying several children self-regulation theories. The instrument was translated from English into Indonesian and it retranslated into the native language by linguists. The questions, then, were validated through a process of professional judgment and cognitive de-briefing. The study was carried out to 179 children aged 6 to 7 years old. Data were analyzed by using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). It showed that there are 5 dimensions of children's self-regulation, namely: attentional focus, behavioral control, self-motivated, self-autonomy and emotional control. The result showed that the five-dimensional model is agreed with the data and prove to measure children’s self-regulation. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient value was 0.899, indicating high scale reliability. Thus, the pre-school children’s self-regulation assessment has well psychometric for further use. This brief review assesses a dynamic virtual exhibition that has been curated by the University of Malta and Heritage Malta, with the support of the Malta Tourist Authority and the backing of the Ministry of Tourism and Consumer Protection, Malta. The exhibition, Underwater Malta (https://underwatermalta.org/map/), aims, through a virtual platform, to explore 17 wrecks ranging in date from a 2700-year-old Phoenician shipwreck found off Gozo to a submarine and numerous ships that sank in the Second World War, and a Victorian gun (cannon) site. The most numerous wreck type is aircraft, with nine that were active in the Second World War (Figure 1). While the wrecks are unified by their underwater resting place, the material, their chronologies and the depths at which they are located on the seabed vary considerably, the deepest being the Phoenician shipwreck that lies beneath 110m of water.

Abstract If there ever was a public health problem where we could learn a lot about public health research, practice, policy and communication, it is the COVID-19 pandemic. With increased knowledge about the spread, the prevention measures, treatment and vaccination, a lot of research on COVID-19 has been and is being published. Looking for COVID-19 articles on google scholar leads to over 3.6 million articles found. Nearly all research published on COVID-19 has been made publicly accessible to allow the latest research to be available for politicians, policymakers, practitioners and laymen. The quality of the research is sometimes good, sometimes less good (see our recent viewpoints https://academic.oup.com/eurpub/issue/30/5?browseBy=volume). But with the increase in research, it becomes more difficult to find which research is old, outdated and which is new. Furthermore, all sorts of media have covered the pandemic extensively, in many journals one can find very good reviews and articles by serious journalists, but in many cases, also rumours, guesses and fake news. On top of becoming tired of information overload, it is also more and more difficult to keep track of the development of the research. EUPHA - therefore - decided to publish a supplement to the European Journal of Public Health looking at specific health issues and specific groups that were affected by the pandemic. The supplement aims to present short summaries and updates on some key issues of public health relevance. Topics included range from environment, mental health, legal and ethical issues, health workforce, health inequalities, accountability, opening up the economy and such. In this Round Table, we will have a number of authors from the EJPH supplement to discuss their findings and find some common grounds on what we have learned from COVID-19 and how to move forward. Abstract Background Gastroblastoma is a rare gastric tumor composed of epithelial and spindle cell components. The characteristic MALAT–GLI1 fusion gene has only been identified in 5 reported cases. We report the morphological characterization of gastroblastoma with the MALAT1–GLI1 fusion gene in a young Japanese woman. Case presentation A 29-year-old Japanese woman visited Iwate Medical University Hospital with upper abdominal pain. Computed tomography revealed a tumor in expansive lesions involving the gastric antrum. Histologically, we observed a biphasic morphology composed of epithelial and spindle cell components. The epithelial components appeared as slit-like glandular structures with tubular or rosette-like differentiation. The spindle cell components consisted of short spindle-shaped oval cells. Immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis revealed that the spindle cell component was positive for vimentin, CD10, CD56, GLI1, and HDAC2, and focally positive for PD-L1. The epithelial component was positive for CK AE1/AE3, CAM5.2, and CK7, and negative for CK20 and EMA. Both components were negative for KIT, CD34, DOG1, SMA, desmin, S100 protein, chromogranin A, synaptophysin, CDX2, and SS18-SSX. The MALAT-GLI1 fusion gene was detected molecularly. Conclusions We report the following new findings with this case: (i) gastric tumors mimic the gastrointestinal mesenchyme in the embryonic period; (ii) nuclear expression of PD-L1 and HDAC2 were observed in the spindle cell component of a gastroblastoma. We speculate that histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors may offer a promising treatment option for gastroblastoma.

The book Approaches to Death and Dying: Bioethical and Cultural Perspectives, edited by Marta Szabat and Jan Piasecki, is part of a still too narrow catalogue of works devoted to end-of-life themes. The volume consists of eleven articles arranged in four parts corresponding to a broad range of issues: law, ethics, philosophy, and cultural studies. The arrangement of the book is thus constructed around various perspectives upon which any reflection on death and dying must be based. This is perhaps indicative of how difficult it is to adopt an unambiguous attitude towards death–modernity, which introduces a multitude of possible choices and decisions regarding our own bodies, has enhanced individualism but at the same time done away with the order provided by old customs, cultural arrangements, strategies towards the inevitable and the power exerted by that order. Addressing the issue of death and dying in the suggested contexts conjures up a number of meanings and problems that require reflection and even solutions. I am delighted to say that I have no hesitation in recommending the publication of Approaches to Death and Dying: Bioethical and Cultural Perspectives, an impeccably edited volume of considerable intellectual substance. The book demonstrates the importance of collective works integrating the research of various scientific communities, provided, however, that the selection of both the topic and the writers is not governed by chance, but rather by a carefully thought-out and faultlessly explored idea of more general resonance. And this is the case here, for which congratulations and respect are deserved. I am convinced that this opinion will be shared by the readers of this publication.
