Résumé :
The system analysis of the hierarchical intelligent multi-agent system in general, as well as its main structural unit, the intelligent agent, its major subsystems identified. As part of the analysis of the computer vision subsystem, it was concluded that the considered sources have insufficiently worked out issues related to the processing of occlusions, with the automation of the process of reconstruction of three-dimensional scenes, with the implementation of the processing of an unstructured set of images. The structure of the block for the reconstruction of three-dimensional scenes is proposed, the implementation of which is aimed at eliminating the indicated problems characteristic of the machine vision subsystem. The analysis of the main methods of implementing unsupervised learning is carried out, based on the results of which it is concluded that it is advisable to use reinforcement learning when implementing systems of this type. Such types of reinforcement learning as hierarchical reinforcement learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning are considered. A method for segmentation of macro actions is proposed, based on the implementation of clustering by the method of label propagation, in which the number of transitions is formalized in the form of weight coefficients of edges.

Résumé :
The problem of coscheduling spatial self-organization control processes and distributed data collection processes in a multi-agent system has been considered. The goal of coscheduling is to find and use the possibilities of functional coordination of these processes and increase the efficiency of the multi-agent system due to their parallel execution. An analysis of the main features of spatial self-organization tasks that affect the solution of the problem of coscheduling has been carried out. Variants of the mobile agent robotic platform configuration and the problem of the dependence of spatial self-organization algorithms on the type of robotic platform have been considered. A method of coscheduling of spatial self-organization and distributed data collection by coordinated parallel execution of the corresponding data collection process and the process of controlling mobile agent motion has been proposed. The method of coscheduling is implemented using the interaction protocol of these processes and the algorithm for planning their parallel execution using functional decomposition. The simulation results of the proposed method of coscheduling are given. It is proved that the proposed method of coscheduling provides acceleration of computations in the decision-making module of the mobile agent due to more efficient parallelization. On average, for typical values of parameters of control processes, the proposed method of coscheduling provides acceleration of computations in the decision-making module of the mobile agent by 40.6 %.

Résumé :
Modeling interactions between agents and the Multi-Agent System (MAS) behavior based on role based collaboration among the participating agents are the key factors to design of effective MAS dynamics. In this paper, a High level Multi Agent Petri Net called HMAP has been proposed which is capable of describing, analyzing and modeling dynamics of such MAS which are characterized as asynchronous, distributed, parallel and non-deterministic agent based systems. Proposed HMAP is also effective towards modeling roles, collaborations and interactions among the heterogeneous agents in MAS environment. Moreover the HMAP is useful in formal analysis of several behavioral properties of MAS like, Reachability, Home properties, Boundedness, Liveness and Fairness. The proposed mechanism has been illustrated using a suitable case study of Medical Emergency System. Moreover, to further validate the proposed concepts of HMAP, it has been simulated using Color Petri Net based tool called CPN Tool, with some restriction.

Résumé :
The quality of K-12 education has been a major concern in the nation for years. School systems, just like many other social networks, appear to have a hierarchical structure. Understanding this structure could be the key to better evaluating student performance and improving school quality. Many studies have been focusing on detecting hierarchical structure by using hierarchical clustering algorithms. The authors design an interaction-based similarity measure to accomplish hierarchical clustering in order to detect hierarchical structures in social networks (e.g. school district networks). This method uses a multi-agent system, for it is based on agent interactions. With the network structure detected, they also built a model, which is based on the MAXQ algorithm, to decompose the funding policy task into subtasks and then evaluate these subtasks by using funding distribution policies from past years and looking for possible relationships between student performances and funding policies. For the experiment, the authors used real school data from Bexar county’s 15 school districts in Texas. The first result shows that their interaction-based method is able to generate meaningful clustering and dendrograms for social networks. Additionally the authors’ policy evaluation model is able to evaluate funding policies from the past three years in Bexar County and conclude that increasing funding does not necessarily have a positive impact on student performance and it is generally not the case that the more is spent, the better.

Résumé :
The term "service-oriented architecture" (SOA) refers to a software paradigm for creating systems made up of a variety of services that interact with one another to accomplish a certain task. The communications involve more than just transmitting data back and forth; they also connect two or more services to coordinate the required operations. Cross-platform communication is necessary for the coordinating process when services are spread across several platforms. Several web service standards and specifications are used in the present SOA implementation. Based on the prototype's implementation and simulation, this proposed research study has been validated and evaluated. The suggested cross-platform communications architecture is implemented using NetBeans, JADE, WSIG, and OWL-S. An integrated development environment for Java is offered by Oracle in the form of NetBeans. Telecom Italia's Java Agent DEvelopment Framework (JADE) is an agent software framework that is entirely built in the Java language. Web Service Integration Gateway (WSIG), which helps to facilitate JADE agent services being called by Web service clients. The core fundamental engine of the suggested framework is OWL-S. It is a web ontology language used to describe Semantic Web Services in the Semantic Web's OWL-based framework. A quantitative approach is used in this study's performance analysis and comparative investigation for evaluation and validation. The prototype's major element is the Java agent development framework (JADE), which was used to create a multi-agent system for the agent-based MOM framework that has been presented. The creation of the multi-agent systems was facilitated by the JADE platform. JADE 3.7 was the version that was employed. Two key features of JADE are a FIPA-compliant agent platform and a package for creating Java agents. The implementation results show that the proposed agent-based MOM framework was successful communicate between multiple types of SOA application with a better performance of the average of round-trip time where the proposed framework was successful in responding to all the requests.

Résumé :
Requirements analysis of Multi-Agent Based Intelligent Tutoring SystemsThe agent oriented software engineering research proposes general assumptions for agent oriented software development, while intelligent tutoring system (ITS) research proposes specific ITS architecture and other specific knowledge for ITS development. Both of these views should be taken into consideration while developing multi-agent based ITSs. Thus there is a need for specific approaches for all phases of agent based ITS development which take into consideration main ideas from both agent oriented software engineering and ITS research. In this paper we propose a requirements analysis approach for multi-agent based ITSs. A case study of a simple ITS is included, too. Requirements analysis in the proposed approach consist of two main steps, namely goal modelling and use case modelling. During the goal modelling the main goals of the system are identified and a goal hierarchy for the system is created. During the use case modelling use cases needed to achieve each lower level goal and their descriptions are created. The proposed approach of the requirements analysis is intended to be a part of the full life cycle methodology for multi-agent based ITS development. The developed use case model (especially use case scenarios) is used during the agent interaction design and task definition. Goal hierarchy during the design phase is mainly used for checking, if the results of design achieve all system's goals.

The explosive growth in genomic (and soon, expression and proteomic) data, exemplified by the Human Genome Project, is a fertile domain for the application of multi-agent information gathering technologies. Furthermore, hundreds of smaller-profile, yet still economically important organisms are being studied that require the efficient and inexpensive automated analysis tools that multi-agent approaches can provide. In this paper, we discuss the use of DECAF, a multi-agent system toolkit based on RETSINA and TAEMS, to build reusable information gathering systems for bioinformatics. We will cover why bioinformatics is a classic application for information gathering, how DECAF supports it, and several extensions that support new analysis paths for genomic information.

Résumé :
Distributed cooperative control of multi-agent systems is broadly applied in artificial intelligence in which time delay is of great concern because of its ubiquitous. This paper considers the controllability of leader-follower multi-agent systems with input and communication delays. For the first-order systems with input delay, neighbor-based protocol is adopted to realize the interactions among agents, yielding a system with delay existed in state and control input. New notions of interval controllability and interval structural controllability for the system are defined. Algebraic criterion is established for interval controllability, and graph-theoretic interpretation is put forward for the interval structural controllability. Results imply that input delay of the multi-agent systems has significant influence on the interval controllability and interval structural controllability. Corresponding conclusions are generalized to the first-order systems and the high-order ones with communication delays, respectively. Example is attached to illustrate the work.

In this paper, we adopt D-type and PD-type learning laws with the initial state of iteration to achieve uniform tracking problem of multi-agent systems subjected to impulsive input. For the multi-agent system with impulse, we show that all agents are driven to achieve a given asymptotical consensus as the iteration number increases via the proposed learning laws if the virtual leader has a path to any follower agent. Finally, an example is illustrated to verify the effectiveness by tracking a continuous or piecewise continuous desired trajectory.

Résumé :
Due to the autonomy of individual agents and the use of the concept of distributed planning, multi-agent systems (MAS) represent a promising approach to achieve fault-tolerant self-organizing manufacturing systems. In this article, a basic component of a manufacturing-oriented MAS is presented. The negotiation strategies are formulated in such a way that they, on the one hand, guarantee considerable flexibility of the basic component itself, and, on the other hand, enable the construction of more complex systems built up from several components. On the basis of this single component, it is shown that the dynamics of such systems without appropriate control mechanisms can be chaotic. Such behaviour is, however, unwanted in practice and must therefore be stabilized or avoided. In order to develop appropriate tools for this task, the dynamic behaviour of the system is investigated using concepts and methods of synergetics and the theory of nonlinear dynamical systems.

Résumé :
This paper deals with the predefined-time synchronization for a class of nonlinear multi-agent systems. The notion of passivity is exploited to design the controller for predefined-time synchronization of a nonlinear multi-agent system, where the time of synchronization can be preassigned. Developed control can be used to synchronize large-scale, higher-order multi-agent systems as passivity is an important property in designing control for complex control systems, where the control inputs and outputs are considered in determining the stability of the system in contrast to other approaches, such as state-based Control We introduced the notion of predefined-time passivity and as an application of the exposed stability analysis, static and adaptive predefined-time control algorithms are designed to study the average consensus problem for nonlinear leaderless multiagent systems in predefined-time. We provide a detailed mathematical analysis of the proposed protocol, including convergence proof and stability analysis. We discussed the tracking problem for a single agent, and designed state feedback and adaptive state feedback control scheme to make tracking error predefined-time passive and then showed that in the absence of external input, tracking error reduces to zero in predefined-time. Furthermore, we extended this concept for a nonlinear multi-agent system and designed state feedback and adaptive state feedback control scheme which ensure synchronization of all the agents in predefined-time. To further strengthen the idea, we applied our control scheme to a nonlinear multi-agent system by taking the example of Chua’s circuit. Finally, we compared the result of our developed predefined-time synchronization framework with finite-time synchronization scheme available in literature for the Kuramoto model.

Résumé :
Lots of complexity and uncertainties are existed in drilling process. Further more, one of the possible ways to solve on-site drilling safety accidents is the early-warning through real-time monitoring. Based on the analysis of main hazards during drilling process, considering that most of the hazards are observable and controllable, by using multi agent group (MAG) technology of distributed artificial intelligence (DAI), this paper puts forward a functional schematic model with drilling hazards monitoring multi agent group, which includes real-time monitoring agent, feature extraction agent warning analysis agent, communication agent and user interaction agent. Considering the features of drilling engineering hazard monitoring, a distributed drilling safety monitoring system including the two levels, site-level and base-level, is built.

Résumé :
The recent years have been marked by a rapid growth in the World Wide Web 2.0 applications such as blog posts, forums, mailing lists, and product-review websites. As a result, a special sentiment analysis field has sprung up relevant to the issue of people's responses to the diversity of available subjects. Hence, one might well wonder: how do people feel and react when dealing with certain topics? In this paper, a new automatic sentiment-processing model has been advanced, whereby the current problems faced by the prevalent existing models can be deciphered and more properly treated. The suggested approach consists in developing a multi-agent system based on a thorough linguistic analysis, meanwhile highlighting the major contributions provided by such a study in combination with the syntactic, semantic, and subjective analyses. Actually, the newly-devised framework enables to resolve the ambiguities and complexities of the natural evaluative language and to strengthen, as well as consolidate, the results achieved at the various analysis stages thereof.

Résumé :
We address the challenge of multi-agent system (MAS) design for organisations of agents acting in dynamic and uncertain environments where runtime flexibility is required to enable improvisation through sharing knowledge and adapting behaviour. We identify behavioural features that correspond to runtime improvisation by agents in a MAS organisation and from this analysis describe the OJAzzIC meta-model and an associated design method. We present results from simulation scenarios, varying both problem complexity and the level of organisational support provided in the design, to show that increasing design time guidance in the organisation specification can enable runtime flexibility afforded to agents and improve performance. Hence the results demonstrate the usefulness of the constructs captured in the OJAzzIC meta-model.

Résumé :
In this paper, we describe a comparative analysis of a bus route scheduling problem as part of timetable trips. We consider the current uptake of electric buses as a viable public transportation option that will eventually phase out the diesel-engine-based buses. We note that, with the increasing number of electric buses, the complexity related to the scheduling also increases, especially stemming from the charging requirement and the dedicated infrastructure behind it. The aim of our comparative study is to highlight the brevity with which a multi-agent-system-based scheduling method can be helpful as compared to the classical mixed-integer linear-programming-based approach. The multi-agent approach we design is centralized with asymmetric communication between the master agent, the bus agent, and the depot agent, which makes it possible to solve the multi-depot scheduling problem in almost real time as opposed to the classical optimizer, which sees a multi-depot problem as a combinatorial heuristic NP-hard problem, which, for large system cases, can be computationally inefficient to solve. We test the efficacy of the multi-agent algorithm and also compare the same with the MILP objective designed in harmony with the multi-agent system. We test the comparisons first on a small network and then extend the scheduling application to real data extracted from the public transport of the Maltese Islands.

Résumé :
The issue of creating an information security system is very relevant in the world today. One of the urgent tasks is to solve the issues of effective protection of information from both external and internal threats through the creation and implementation of information security management systems in automated systems of enterprises, which, among other things, requires the formalization of the task of protecting information for its subsequent implementation by software and other means. Now there are security analysis systems, for example, that examine the security elements settings of workstations and servers operating systems, analyze the network topology, look for unprotected network connections, examine the settings of firewalls. The disadvantage of these systems is that they are not suitable for monitoring large volumes of network traffic. The solution to this problem is the use of monitoring tools capable of analyzing large amounts of data in real time. Therefore, a significant place in the article is given to the review of developments based on artificial intelligence technologies, namely multi-agent systems, review of information security models, threat risk assessment in automated systems. The functional architecture of the information security management system based on a multi-agent system has been proposed to search in real time for information security optimal solutions through the selection of such coalitions of protection mechanisms agents that will allow to build the optimal protection of the automated system according to the selected criteria. The model with complete overlapping of threats has been substantiated and adopted as a basis, which allows to analyze the overall situation and choose strategically important decisions directly during the organization of information security. The essence of of multi-agent systems functioning that implement a decentralized control system based on the work of autonomous agents that can be implemented programmatically has been revealed. The role of threat agents, resource agents, agents of protection mechanisms and their functional purpose have been defined. The problem of searching a set of protection mechanisms agents coalition for the current state of the automated system as a problem of optimal search by the criterion of protection cost, taking into account the value of information, has been generalized. Due to the modularity of the multi-agent system, the further work will be aimed at detailing its components and perfection.

Résumé :
The concept of n intelligent agent is a concept that is born from the area of artificial intelligence; in fact, a commonly-accepted definition relates the discipline of artificial intelligence with the analysis and design of autonomous entities capable of exhibitin intelligent behavior. From that perspective, it is assumed that an intelligent agent must be able to perceive its environment, reason about how to achieve its objectives, act towards achieving them through the application of some principle of rationality, and interact with other intelligent agents, being artificial or human [1]. Multi-agent systems are a particular case of a distributed system, and its particularity lies in the fact that the components of the system are autonomous and selfish, seeking to satisfy their own objectives. In addition, these systems also stand out for being open systems without a centralized design [2]. One main reason for the great interest and attention that multi-agent systems have received is that they are seen as an enabling technology for complex applications that require distributed and parallel processing of data and operate autonomously in complex and dynamic domains.

Résumé :
There have been a number of research works that investigate the use of formal optimization techniques for the accurate design of WLAN. Unfortunately, these approaches may not be effectively applied to a large scale WLAN deployment scenario. Consequently, it is necessary to design an algorithm that has more powerful ability of global optimization to solve such problems. The main contribution of the work presented in this paper is designing a multi-agent optimization algorithm based on the local control from agents and global control from system, including the synthetical analysis of the relationship of channel and field strength in WLAN. The results of experiments indicate that our multi-agent optimization algorithm is much more efficient comparing with the present agent-based algorithm for the practical engineering project with low density candidate sites scenarios.

Résumé :
The modern evolution of technological systems from Hierarchical branching structures purposed to centralized transfer and distribution of limited resources to multi-agent interconnected self-organized networks aimed to produce, transport and consumption of resources are considered. The model of multi-agent interconnected self-organized adaptive networking systems is proposed, the network topology is considered, a system functioning model including transient processes is analyzed. A substantial limitation of the traditional reliability paradigm for a novel type of systems is demonstrated. It was assumed, that optimization approaches in the context of “big data” utilization lead to create a quasi-infinite space of non-structured decisions, which can be characterized as “big decisions”. The modified approach based on the “equally defended networked system” paradigm and the corresponding quantitative risk measure is proposed.

Résumé :
With people's increasing awareness of life and the increasing complexity of exploration in unknown environment, a single robot can not meet the increasing demand, including the price, flexibility and efficiency of robots. As a common mechanical control system in industrial production instead of human production, multi manipulator system can be applied in complex environment, multi task and other conditions. In order to settle the coordinated control fault of multi manipulator system, we study adaptive coordinated control strategy with the help of multi-agent research method in this paper, which can simplify the complexity of the problem and design an efficient and feasible system control protocol. The complex items in the multi manipulator system are treated as non affine systems. Using the design idea of non affine algorithm, combined with implicit function theorem and median theorem, the non affine system is transformed into affine systems, the controller is separated, and a distributed adaptive control strategy is designed. The results indicate that manipulator systems can effectively track the active manipulator system in finite time and the significance of the algorithm is proven by MATLAB simulation analysis.
