Résumé :

The crystallographic structures of some phases present as precipitates in Al–Li–Cu–Mg alloys are not perfectly resolved. In particular, several structural models have been proposed for the S′ phase, and this controversy is not yet resolved. New x-ray powder diffraction measurements have been performed to compare the theoretical powder diffraction patterns associated with each proposed model with the measured spectra obtained from two different kinds of alloys. The structural model of the S′ phase described by Mondolfo [L. F. Mondolfo, Aluminum Alloys Structure and Properties (Butterworths, London, 1976)] agrees with the experimental results and allows us to reject the two other proposed crystallographic models.

Resumen: En este trabajo me propongo analizar, comentar y discutir algunas opcio- nes traductoras adoptadas por F. Duque en su monumental edición de la Ciencia de la lógica. Concretamente, me centraré en la traducción de los términos alemanes: “Daseyn”, “Unwesen”, “Auslegung” y “ausgeführte [Zweck]”, que cotejaré puntual- mente con las principales traducciones extranjeras, así como con la castellana de R. Mondolfo, no tanto para retomar su terminología, cuanto para valorar y calibrar mejor la de Duque, en la idea de que esta retrospectiva permite explorar otras posibilidades. Abstract: In this paper I work up to analyze, comment and discuss some translation options adopted by F. Duque in his monumental edition of the Science of Logic. Specifically, I will focus on the translation of the german terms: “Daseyn”, “Unwesen”, “Auslegung” and “ausgeführte [Zweck]”, which I will compare promptly with the main foreign translations, as well as with the one of R. Mondolfo, not so much to resume its terminology, as to assess and calibrate Duque's better, in the idea that this retrospective allows to explore other possibilities. Summary: Reflecting on the role humans take into nowadays society, should be of interest in all our social reflections, even for those that refer to the field of law. Any human indifferent and unconscious of the social role that he ought to play within society, as a member of it, is an irresponsible human detached from everything that surrounds him, regarding matters and other humans. Trying to isolate in an irresponsible, passive and comfortable attitude, means, after all, denying oneself, denying our nature, as the social being every human is. This is the reflection that this academic work entitles, the one made from the point of view of the Italian philosopher Rodolfo Mondolfo. From a descriptive development, starting from this renowned author, I will develop ideas that will warn the importance that human protagonism have, in this human product so call society. From a descriptive development, from this well-known author, I will be prescribing ideas that will warn the importance of the protagonism that all human beings have, in that human product that we call society. I have used the descriptive method to approach the positions of the Italian humanist philosopher and, for my assessments, I have used the prescriptive method from an eminently critical and deductive procedural position. My goal is to demonstrate, from the humanist postulates of Rodolfo Mondolfo, the hypothesis about the leading, decision-making and determining role that the human being has within society. I understand, to have reached the demonstration of the aforementioned hypothesis, because, after the analyzed, there is no doubt, that the human being is not one more existence in the development of societies; its role is decisive in determining the human present and the future that will house the next societies and generations of our historical future.

Résumé :

Glass frogs (Centrolenidae) are widely distributed in the Neotropics. This study presents novel data on two centrolenid species of the genus Hyalinobatrachium Ruiz-Carranza & Lynch, 1991 collected during herpetofaunal surveys carried out in Brazilian Amazonia of the state of Amapá. Here we report the first record of Hyalinobatrachium cappellei (van Lidth de Jeude, 1904) and H. mondolfii Señaris & Ayarzagüena, 2001, extending the known distribution of H. mondolfii 264 km east and filing gaps in the distribution range of H. cappellei in eastern Amazonia.

Résumé :

Basic information about the taxonomy, biology and distribution of Hyalinobatrachium glassfrogs of the Guiana Shield (GS) is scarce, ambiguous, and in many cases even contradictory. In this review we aim to clarify the current taxonomic status of this group by means of phenotypic (morphology, morphometrics and bioacoustics) and molecular (mitochondrial DNA sequences) comparisons. Eight species have previously been recognized for the GS: H. crurifasciatum, H. eccentricum, H. fleischmanni (initially described as Hylella cappellei in the GS), H. iaspidiense (with the putative synonym H. nouraguense), H. ignioculus, H. mesai, H. mondolfii, and H. taylori. Our data support the resurrection of H . cappellei from its synonymy with H. fleischmanni. Hyalinobatrachium crurifasciatum, H. eccentricum, and H. ignioculus are proposed as junior synonyms of H. cappellei. We show that none of the four paratypes of H. taylori belong to this species and we assign two to H. cappellei and two to H. mondolfii. Additional specimens previously identified as H. taylori are reassigned to H. cappellei, and hence H. taylori is redefined. Hyalinobatrachium nouraguense is confirmed as a junior syn-onym of H. iaspidiense. We also describe two new species of Hyalinobatrachium from French Guiana: Hyalinobatrachium kawense sp. nov. and Hyalinobatrachium tricolor sp. nov. In addition, and in concordance with the new taxonomic rearrangements, we provide diagnostic characters for all species, known distributions and main sources of references for their biology. We also report new distribution records for H. iaspidiense and H. mondolfii, and describe the formerly unknown tadpole of the later. Consequently, we recognize seven species of Hyalinobatrachium for the Guiana Shield: H. cappellei, H. iaspidiense, H. kawense sp. nov., H. mesai, H. mondolfii, H. taylori, and H. tricolor sp. nov. We discuss the suitability of integrative taxonomy as an approach to identify taxonomic uncertainty and consider its significance for conservation purposes. We also address the implications of our results to understand phylogeographic patterns in this area.

Abstract Dasypus sabanicola Mondolfi, 1968, commonly known as Llanos long-nosed armadillo, is the second smallest armadillo of the genus Dasypus. It is a diurnal-nocturnal insectivorous species endemic to the Orinoco Region of Colombia and Venezuela, where it inhabits natural savannas and riparian forests. D. sabanicola is listed as “Near Threatened” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources due to its restricted distribution to the floodplains (llanos), an ecosystem that is severely affected by continuing habitat conversion. It is also hunted in several parts of its range.

Chrome (VI) has a high level of toxicity. Formaldehyde is potential to be developed as a substitute of chrome tanning agent. The aims of this study are to explain the amount of formaldehyde bound, shrinkage temperature, tensile strength, and tear strength on Mondol stingray (Himantura gerrardi) leather. Pickled mondol stingray has been used as raw material. The study was divided into 4 treatments, that is P.I (formaldehyde 2%), P.II (formaldehyde 4%), P.III (formaldehyde 6%), and P.IV (formaldehyde 8%). The method used is drum tanning. Shrinkage temperatures, tensile strength and tear strength of P.I and P.II are significantly different from P.III and P.IV, but P.I is not significantly different from P.II, whereas P.III is not significantly different from P.IV. P.III is shown to improve the quality of leather stingray more than P.I and P.II, and has fulfilled the requirements of leather stingray according to SNI. 06-6121-1999. It can be concluded that the optimal level of formaldehyde tanning agent that can be used as a chrome tanning agent substitute in tanning Mondol stingray skin is formaldehyde 8% (P.III).

Résumé :

We report the first confirmed occurrence of the Guianan White-eared Opposum Didelphis imperfecta Mondolfi & Pérez-Hernéndez, 1984 (Didelphimorphia: Didelphidae) from Colombia. The individual was captured in a tropical lowland rain forest in the easternmost portion of the Colombian Orinoco Llanos region. The species is endemic of the Guiana Shield and has the smallest distribution area among the species of the genus. Our record shows that the Orinoco river does not constitute a biogeographical barrier for the species. To date, only two species of the genus Didelphis Linnaeus, 1758 have been recorded in Colombia, our results increase the reported number of records for this genus.

Three new species of Syndicus Motschulsky, 1851 are described: S. (s. str.) phangngaensis sp. n. (Thailand: Phang Nga), S. (s. str.) kampucheanus sp. n. (Cambodia: Mondol Kiri), and S. (Semisyndicus) schuelkei sp. n. (China: Yunnan). New distributional records are presented for S. paeninsularis bilobatus Jałoszyński, 2004 (from Laos: Bolikhamsai and Cambodia: Mondol Kiri), S. (s. str.) echinatus Jałoszyński, 2004 (from W Malaysia: Selangor), S. (s. str.) difficilis Jałoszyński, 2004 (from Thailand: Chiang Mai), S. (s. str.) himalayanus Franz, 1975 (from Nepal: Chitwan), and S. (Semisyndicus) leai leai Franz, 1971 (from W Malaysia: Selangor). The female of S. paeninsularis bilobatus is described for the first time; this species and S. kampucheanus are the first Scydmaeninae reported to occur in Cambodia.

O Taekwondo é uma arte marcial milenar e, oficialmente, desde o ano 2000, está incluído no programa olímpico. O TKD, como também é conhecido, é um esporte que apresenta muito dinamismo em seus golpes, o que possibilita a existência de análises com a utilização da Física. Sendo assim, este trabalho teve como objetivo utilizar conceitos da mecânica na análise de golpes executados na modalidade esportiva Taekwondo, com o intuito de ser um auxílio nas práticas de ensino de Física no ensino médio. Foram utilizadas as grandezas físicas aceleração, força, impulso, velocidade angular e momento angular na análise de quatro importantes chutes (ap tchagui, bandal tchagui, timio yop tchagui e mondolio tchagui). A linguagem e o formalismo adotados na elaboração do texto apresentam adequação em relação ao público alvo.

ABSTRAK Penyamakan kulit ikan Pari umumnya menggunakan minyak sintetis pada proses peminyakan. Kulit ikan Pari tersamak yang kaku membatasi pembentukan model aksesoris, sehingga perlu adanya alternative penggunaan minyak non sintetis, salah satunya minyak ikan tersulfit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan minyak ikan tersulfit terhadap nilai kelemasan dan kualitas kulit ikan Pari Mondol tersamak. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental laboratoris. Percobaan dirancang dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan konsentrasi minyak ikan tersulfit yang berbeda, yaitu 14%, 16%, 18%, dan kontrol (15% minyak sintetis). Variabel kualitas produk yang diamati adalah kelemasan, kekuatan tarik, kemuluran, kekuatan sobek, ketebalan, ketahanan bengkuk, kadar air, kadar lemak, dan pH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan minyak ikan tersulfit pada proses peminyakan kulit ikan Pari Mondol tersamak berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai kelemasan, kemuluran, kekuatan sobek, dan kadar lemak. Kualitas produkkulit ikan pari tersamak terbaik yaitu produk yang menggunakan minyak ikan tersulfit dengan konsentrasi 16%. Produk tersebut menghasilkan nilai kelemasan yang memenuhi persyaratan ISO dan kualitasnya memenuhi persyaratan mutu Kulit Ikan Pari Tersamak menurut SNI. Kata kunci: Kulit Ikan Pari Mondol Tersamak, Minyak Ikan Tersulfit, Nilai Kelemasan, Kualitas ABSTRACT Tannery of Stingray usually uses synthetic oil in fatliquoring process. Tanned Stingray leather is rigid, as of limiting the modeling accessories formation. so the need for alternative use of non-synthetic oil, sulfited fish oil one. This study aims to determine the effect of sulfited fish oil against softness value and quality of fish Pari Mondol tanned skin. The study was conducted with laboratory experimental method. The experiments are designed with completely randomized design (CRD) by treatment with sulfitted fish oil different concentration, namely 14%, 16%, 18%, and controls (15% synthetic oil). The variable quality of the products observed were softness, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, thickness, crooked durability, moisture content, fat content, and pH. The results showed that the use of sulfited fish oil in the process of tanned stingray leather significantly affect the value of softness, elongation, tear strength, and fat content. The best quality of tanned stingray tanned leather was tanned stingray leather with sulfited fish oil 16%. The product produced softness value that fulfill the requirements of ISO and the quality requirements tanned stingray leather by SNI.. The modification level of Al-Si alloys is generally evaluated by the depression of the (Al)-Si eutectic temperature which can be recorded by thermal analysis. However, this method requires a reference temperature which should be the eutectic temperature evaluated on the relevant phase diagram. Various methods proposed to account for the effect of low level alloying elements on this reference temperature are reviewed and emphasis is put on the so-called Mondolfo's equation which is updated. Predictions are compared to experimental information from literature.

ABSTRAK Usaha penyamakan kulit ikan Pari umumnya dilakukan oleh usaha kecil menengah dan hanya menggunakan metode aldehid dengan bahan samak formalin, Selain itu juga belum diketahui kualitas kulit ikan Pari Mondol tersamak yang menggunakan bahan samak krom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan penggunaan jenis bahan penyamak terhadap kualitas fisik dan kimiawi kulit ikan Pari Mondol tersamak. Materi penelitian berupa kulit ikan Pari Mondol (Himantura gerrardi) dan bahan samak. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental laboratoris. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan perlakuan bahan samak yang berbeda, yaitu formalin, krom, dan kombinasi. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Variabel mutu yang diamati adalah kekuatan tarik, kemuluran, kekuatan sobek, ketebalan, suhu kerut, ketahanan bengkuk (bengkok), pH dan kadar air. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan perbedaan diantara perlakuan diuji dengan Uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan bahan penyamak menyebabkan pengaruh nyata terhadap nilai kekuatan tarik, kekuatan sobek dan ketebalan tetapi tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap nilai pH, kadar air dan ketahanan bengkuk. Produk yang terbaik yaitu kulit ikan Pari Mondol yang disamak dengan bahan samak kombinasi antara krom dan mimosa, yang sebagian persyaratan mutunya sudah memenuhi persyaratan mutu kulit ikan Pari tersamak menurut SNI 06-6121-1999. This research aims to determine the effect of different types used tannin materials towards physical and chemical quality of Stingray leather quality. The experiments was designed according to the Randomized Block Design with different tanning materials (formalin, chrome, and chrome-combination). Each treatment was done with in triplicate. The quality variables that measured were tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, thickness, shrinkage temperature, bent resistance, pH and moisture content. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance. To find the difference between treatments, the data were tested with Honestly Significant Difference Test . The results showed that various of tannin materials gave significant effects to the values of tensile strength, tear strength and thickness however there was not any significant effect on bent resistance, moisture content and pH value. The best product were Stingray tanned leather with chrome-combination tannin material, which partially quality requirements has been comply with Stingray tanned leather quality requirements according to SNI. This article presents diachronic corpus analyses of causative bring (bringcaus) which provide new insights into a fairly novel research paradigm in language change: the role of ‘Moderate Transitivity Contexts’ (MTCs) as a refuge for waning verbs and as a breeding ground for waxing verbs (see Mondorf 2010, 2011, 2016; Rohdenburg 2014b; Schneider & Mondorf 2015). It argues that the modulation of transitivity serves as a support strategy for a formerly well-established verb that is leaving the language.The potential of semantic transitivity for the development of explanatory principles in language change has been hinted at by Hopper & Thompson (1980: 279). Empirically investigating the diachronic stages of detransitivisation for a recessive English verb we gain first systematic, empirically validated insights into the link between transitivity and language change.This article adduces support for the claim that bringcaus + to-infinitive has (almost completely) lost its ability to take fully fledged direct objects. There are, however, at least three, partly overlapping contexts, in which this verb can stand its ground: with reflexives, modals and negation. What these contexts have in common is that they reduce the clause's transitivity, defined by Hopper & Thompson (1980: 251) as ‘the effectiveness with which the verbal action takes place’. Assuming that the higher the transitivity, the stronger the effect of the verbal action is on the object, these detransitivised contexts can be interpreted as alleviating the effect of the verbal action.

Introducción: La biomecánica como ciencia apoyada en principios y leyes de la física permite el estudio de los mecanismos biológicos, dónde el análisis de la técnica juega un papel preponderante para alcanzar altos rendimientos deportivos, incluido en el taekwondo de cualquier categoría. Objetivo: Analizar diferentes factores que inciden en la correcta ejecución de la patada de taekwondo Mondolyo Furyo Chagui entre deportistas clasificados y novatos. Métodos: Se estudia una población de 20 deportistas varones del club Team Vencedores Taekwondo, conformando dos grupos independientes (Grupo 1 Novatos: 10 sujetos; Grupo 2 Clasificados: 10 sujetos) de la categoría prejuvenil (16-17 años), estudiando cinco variables de interés de la técnica mencionada. Resultados: Se evidencia las diferencias existentes en las cinco variables técnicas estudiadas (todas a favor del grupo 2) al presentarse mejores rangos promedios, donde solamente existió una variable significativamente diferente (promedio del tiempo de ejecución de la patada, desde el despegue del talón posterior hasta el impacto) según la U de Mann-Whitney (p=0,023). Conclusiones: Se recomienda establecer mayores análisis para implementar prospectivamente una metodología de perfeccionamiento técnico-táctico que optimice el proceso de preparación deportiva de los taekwondocas estudiados.

We used an integrative taxonomy approach to investigate the taxonomic identity of several populations of glassfrogs from Peru, which are notoriously challenging to identify due to their overall similarity in morphology and coloration. We relied on comparisons of morphology, bioacoustics, and partial fragments of 16S rRNA DNA sequences. We report for the first time the presence of Hyalinobatrachium mondolfii in Peru, being this the southernmost locality known for the species. Likewise, we update and extend the distribution ranges of Rulyrana spiculata and Cochranella nola in the Andes of Peru, provide a 16S sequence of a topotype of R. spiculata, and confirm its presence in Bolivia. For all three species, we increase the current knowledge on their geographic distribution and genetic and phenotypic variation.

Kulit ikan pari dapat diolah menjadi produk komersial bernilai tinggi karena memiliki mutiara yang indah di permukaan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji nilai tambah, preferensi konsumen dan kelayakan finansial usaha produk kulit pari komersial. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan metode kuantitatif dan deskriptif. Analisis nilai tambah menggunakan konsep harga bahan baku dan produk akhir; analisis preferensi konsumen menggunakan pendekatan kesukaan dengan atribut model, harga dan warna produk; analisis kelayakan menggunakan indikator pendapatan, R/C ratio, PBP dan BEP pada usaha mikro-kecil Fanri Collection Yogyakarta . Produk kulit ikan pari mondol dan pari duri diolah menjadi produk utama (dompet W/P tipe 3-in-1 dan tipe 2-in-1) serta produk turunan (gantungan kunci dan gelang mutiara/manik-manik) yang digunakan untuk analisis nilai tambah. Nilai tambah dari kulit ikan pari mondol yaitu sebesar Rp920.000 (1.249,9%) serta kulit ikan pari duri sebesar Rp955.000 (816,7%). Konsumen paling menyukai produk kulit yang berwarna merah marun dibandingkan merah cerah, cokelat dan hijau lumut serta tertarik untuk membeli produk berdasarkan model dan harga. Pendapatan Fanri Collection sebesar Rp134.113.500 per tahun; nilai R/C ratio>1,0 (layak); nilai PBP pada kurun waktu 1 tahun, 7 bulan dan 7 hari; nilai BEP sebesar Rp309.775.383 atau penjualan produk sebanyak 1.936 barang per tahun. Produk yang diminati konsumen adalah gantungan kunci dan dompet W/P (wanita dan pria) tipe 3-in-1.

We collected two specimens of the genus Hyalinobatrachium during fieldwork expeditions to the Departamento Pando—the northernmost region of Bolivia situated in the south-western Amazonian basin, within the zone of tall evergreen lowland rainforest. The specimens are deposited in the Colección Boliviana de Fauna, La Paz (CBF 6453) and in the National Museum, Prague (NMP6V 74059). Because species identification within Hyalinobatrachium based only on morphological characters is in many cases problematic (Kok & Castroviejo-Fisher 2008; Castroviejo-Fisher et al. 2009), we took advantage of published sequences of Hyalinobatrachium to identify our samples. Our results show that each specimen belongs to a different species (H. mondolfii and H. munozorum), none of them previously known to occur in Bolivia. The taxonomic implications of our discovery are briefly discussed.

We describe two new species of the genus Pristimantis from the western margin of the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia. The species have a sympatric distribution and are found in the humid tropical forests of the lower part of the Tamá National Natural Park (PNN Tamá) and its buffer zone. The new species were described from morphological comparisons and phylogenetic reconstruction from the sequencing of three mitochondrial and two nuclear genes. With these two new species, the number of Pristimantis species known in the department of Norte de Santander has increased to 10. In addition, we included new sequences for the species P. anolirex, P. nicefori, P. mondolfii, and P. yukpa. Our explorations in the last decade indicate that there are probably between five and 10 species that have not been described in the northeastern part of Colombia, especially in areas where the armed conflict has predominated in the last five decades.

Abstract This study looks at the variable use of two related forms, namely the reflexive construction (The defendant talked himself into trouble) and the way construction (The actress danced her way to stardom). Despite their differences, the two constructions are often used in ways that can be described as one taking over the other’s expressive functions. Following Mondorf (2011), I assume that the variation results in part from the historical competition between the two, and from the fact that the process of specialization is not yet complete. I present another factor responsible for the overlap, which may keep the specialization from ever being concluded. It involves specific uses of a construction chunked into formulaic phrases (like talk oneself into trouble) which are used reversively (talk oneself out of trouble) against the specifications of the construction they are based on. That is, the kind of variation discussed here is set in motion by the same mechanism observed in novelty motivated through local analogies with specific expressions and low-level instances of a construction.

Some English adjectives accept both synthetic and analytic comparative and superlative forms (e.g. thicker vs more thick, happiest vs most happy). As many as 20+ variables have been claimed to affect this choice (see Leech & Culpeper 1997; Lindquist 2000; Mondorf 2003, 2009). However, many studies consider one variable at a time without systematically controlling for other variables (i.e. they take a monofactorial approach). Further, very little research has been done on superlatives. Following Hilpert's (2008) multifactorial study, we investigate the simultaneous contribution of 17 variables towards comparative and superlative alternation and further measure the strength(s) of the predictors. On the whole, phonological predictors are much more important than syntactic and frequency-related predictors. The predictors of the number of syllables and final segments in <-y> consistently outrank other predictors in both models. Important differences have also been identified. Many syntactic variables, such as predicative position and presence of complements, are weak or non-significant in the comparative model but have stronger effects in the superlative model. Further, higher frequency of an adjective leads to a preference for the synthetic -er variant in comparatives but the analytic most variant in superlatives. The study shows that generalizations about comparatives do not straightforwardly carry over to superlatives.

Why is semantic change in grammaticalization typically unidirectional? It is a well-established finding that in grammaticalizing constructions, more concrete meanings tend to evolve into more schematic meanings. Jäger & Rosenbach (2008) appeal to the psychological phenomenon of asymmetric priming in order to explain this tendency. This article aims to evaluate their proposal on the basis of experimental psycholinguistic evidence. Asymmetric priming is a pattern of cognitive association in which one idea strongly evokes another (i.e. paddle strongly evokes water), while that second idea does not evoke the first one with the same force (water only weakly evokes paddle). Asymmetric priming would elegantly explain why semantic change in grammaticalization tends to be unidirectional, as in the case of English be going to, which has evolved out of the lexical verb go. As yet, empirical engagement with Jäger & Rosenbach's hypothesis has been limited. We present experimental evidence from a maze task (Forster et al.2009), in which we test whether asymmetric priming obtains between lexical forms (such as go) and their grammaticalized counterparts (be going to). On the asymmetric priming hypothesis, the former should prime the latter, but not vice versa. Contrary to the hypothesis, we observe a negative priming effect: speakers who have recently been exposed to a lexical element are significantly slower to process its grammaticalized variant. We interpret this observation as a horror aequi phenomenon (Rohdenburg & Mondorf 2003).
