Résumé :
Amitav Ghosh, in his 2019 novel Gun Island chooses to discourse on the antipathetic relation of human progress and the environment manifested as climate change. In this remarkable novel Ghosh visits two popular Bengali folklores: Manasa Devi – a snake goddess, and Chand Sawdagor – a merchant who was cursed by the snake goddess, and utilizes the stories to re-imagine a past in which certain events take place that eerily parallels the present, especially the issue of climate change. Ghosh’s appropriation of ideas from the epic Manasa Mangal Kabyo – from the canon of Bengali folklore – and shaping them to include pressing contemporary climate issues that oppress individuals, environs, animal habitats, and global major cities around the world, invest the thesis of the novel with global significance. Ghosh transmutes the folklores by reimagining the past, so they come to inform a global scene: dictating and vindicating outcomes all over the world. Ghosh concludes that absence of a globally accepted authority that would negotiate the human-environment interaction for the betterment of both is a dangerous gap.

Hispanic toponymy is common in Manila and the Philippines due to historical reasons. In the following pages, I show the changes of place names present in the historical City of Manila at the end of the Spanish colonial rule in 1898, and the results are analyzed in terms of preservation and linguistic filiation: English, Spanish, Tagalog, and other languages. Defining and proper place names are distinguished, and it is concluded that 54.79% proper place names have disappeared, while 45.21% are preserved. New place names substituting disappeared proper place names tend to be Hispanic eponyms due to cultural, historical, and social reasons.

The present article originates from the effort to answer the following question: is it possible for an organizational structure to steer between organizational routines and Black Swans? (Taleb, 2007). Unexpected, unique and low-frequency events are “unknown variable” that, despite the planning and precautions deployed, catch an organization off-guard, and might have catastrophic consequences. Unexpected events impact organizations, undermining the knowledge and redefining the list of competences that an organization needs in order to be competitive. The main goal of the present article is to shed light on the role and the challenges that firms undertake in their defining moments of adaptation of their organizational assets – the structure –. The rational pattern of adaptation is exemplified by the use of ambidextrous organizational structures, which focus on activities that can be defined as exploration and exploitation. Within the analysis of “the science of complexity”, parallels, paradoxes and metaphors representing a synthesis of a largely shared doctrine will be investigated: firms need to utilize known variables, or sometimes unknown ones, that are inevitably complex, in order to find the right fit, react swiftly to change, successfully compete, and obtain results.

The paper presents and discusses the details of the Spatial Grasp Language (SGL), including its philosophy, methodology, syntax, semantics, and implementation in distributed systems. As a key element of the developed Spatial Grasp Model and Technology, SGL has been used in nu-merous applications and publications, including seven books. This inspired us to devote the cur-rent paper exclusively to the main features of this language and comparison with other lan-guages as a tribute to its impact on the Distributed Management Project at the National Acade-my of Sciences, with strong international participation and support. The comparison with other programming languages shows high level, simplicity, and compactness of the obtained solu-tions, which are explained by the fact that SGL operates directly on distributed networked bod-ies in a holistic, parallel, self-navigation and pattern matching mode. This effectively puts up-side down the established practice and opinion that parallel and distributed computing is essen-tially more complex than sequential programming. In comparison with specialized battle man-agement languages oriented on command and control of military campaigns, the SGL pro-gramming example shows high clarity and efficiency for expressing campaigns with spatial movement and maintenance of the needed resources, also confirming its universal ability for extended applications in similar areas. The relation of SGL to natural languages is shown where globally recursive SGL organization can be directly used for describing and analyzing natural language structures of any volume and complexity, just by adding new rules to the SGL defini-tion. SGL can also effectively substitute natural languages for a high-level and quick definition of complex spatial problems and their solutions due to its power, compactness, and formula-like recursive nature.

All school populations are diverse in many ways. The diversity in South African schools has been compounded since 1994 with the migration of Black learners to former ‘white’ schools. Some schools and their principals have succeeded in coping efficiently with the new social and cultural makeup of their schools, while others have been struggling and even resigned under the pressures of all the conflicting demands from stakeholders. The theoretical and empirical investigation reported in this paper shows that principals and schools could benefit enormously from learning from the experiences of the more successful schools and their principals

The cascading order variability from downstream trumping up the upstream site of the supply chain network indicates the deleterious effect to the performance of the fast moving consumer goods industry. The fundamental likelihood to optimization in this industry requires dexterous flows of quasi-real-time information, as well as reliable product availability. In this context, this study analyzes the challenges of bullwhip effect on the perspective of ingenious optimization strategies, and further contemplates to establish the engineering patterns of interrelationships on the magnitude of pooling the resources to advance supply chain capabilities. The suppression of bullwhip effect on underlying optimization strategies is sought to elevate accelerated responsiveness, improve network demand visibility and reduce volatility in frequencies to inventory replenishment. A rigorous and disciplined quantitative approach afforded the tentatively development of pattern of interrelated supply chain dimensions. The factor analysis method was used on 448 responses and insightful findings were produced from the compelling purposive sampling technique. The findings indicate that the magnitude of better ameliorating bullwhip effect, the value of competitive economic information and strength of selected optimization strategies depend on the model of unified engineering patterns. This paper provides insights to FMCG industry on using innovative strategies and modern technology to enhance supply chain visibility through integrated systems networks.

Flood occured in the end of the year 2014 was known as the ’yellow flood’. The flood caused home and district damaged and also the community area as well. Management of flood is categorized into threee phases, namely the pre condition before flood, the condition during the flood occurs and the post condition after flood occured. However, the issues arose of inaccuracy in determining the collection and distribution of goods donated to the flood victims. It happened between the flood victims themselves and between certain party. Thus, the objectives of this study is to discuss the concept of Indeks Syariah Malaysia and its contribution management approach based on Indeks Syariah Malaysia. The study will evaluate the types of contribution needed according to necessity. A mixed method approach were taken a qualitative and a quantitative via observation, interviews and questionnaires. Furthermore, the documentation reviews using the inductive method through manuals and report management before, during and after the floods. The study found that eight types of emergency kits should be given to the flood victims during the floods which are prayer kit, food kit, health kit, clothing kit, educational kit, shelter kit and storage kit. The study also found that the contribution management of the flood victims needed a specific guideline based on Indeks Syariah Malaysia for the purpose of determining the basic needs and the types of contributions in accordance its priority. The determination of basic needs is very important for creating emergency kits that can produce a guideline to governments, NGOs and volunteers parties in helping flood victims. Further studies related to the determination of basic needs before and after the flood occured is needed to ensure that the victims obtain an assistance as needed. Keywords: Management, Contribution, Requirements, flood, flood victims, Malaysia Shariah Index. Abstrak Bah banjir yang berlaku pada penghujung 2014 dikenali sebagai bah kuning. Bah banjir tersebut mengakibatkan keadaan rumah, kawasan dan sekitar daerah rosak akibat kesan kedatangan banjir tersebut. Pengurusan banjir dikategorikan dengan tiga keadaan iaitu sebelum, semasa dan selepas. Isu ketidaktepatan dalam penentuan kutipan dan agihan barangan sumbangan kepada mangsa banjir sering ditimbulkan oleh mangsa banjir dan pihak-pihak tertentu. Justeru, objektif kajian ini membincangkan konsep Indeks Syariah Malaysia (ISM) dan pendekatan pengurusan sumbangan kepada mangsa banjir berasaskan ISM. Kajian ini juga akan menilai jenis- jenis sumbangan yang diperlukan oleh mangsa banjir semasa berlaku banjir di samping penentuan keperluan asas berasaskan keutamaan. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah secara kualititatif dan kuantitatif iaitu menggunakan kaedah pemerhatian dan temubual serta soal selidik termasuk juga kajian secara dokumentasi yang menggunakan kaedah induktif dengan merujuk manual dan laporan pengurusan sebelum, semasa dan selepas bencana banjir. Hasil kajian mendapati tujuh jenis kit kecemasan yang perlu diberikan kepada mangsa banjir semasa banjir iaitu kit ibadah, kit makanan, kit kesihatan, kit pakaian, kit pendidikan, kit penempatan dan kit simpanan barang berharga. Hasil kajian juga mendapati pengurusan sumbangan mangsa banjir semasa berlaku banjir memerlukan satu garis panduan yang khusus berasaskan ISM bagi tujuan penentuan keperluan asas dan jenis-jenis sumbangan mengikut keutamaan. Penentuan keperluan asas ini amat penting bagi mewujudkan kit-kit kecemasan yang boleh menjadi garis panduan kepada kerajaan, NGO-NGO dan pihak-pihak sukarelawan dalam membantu mangsa banjir. Kajian lanjutan berkaitan penentuan keperluan asas sebelum dan selepas banjir diperlukan bagi memastikan mangsa banjir mendapat bantuan sebagaimana yang diperlukan. The problem of domestic violence (DV) in Malaysia has not yet been completely curbed. A significant increase in DV cases can be seen during the period of the Movement Control Order (MCO). This phenomenon is of great concern as the COVID19 pandemic is not over and the potential for MCO directives on areas with an increase in COVID19 cases is high. This paper aims to discuss the protection afforded to DV victims in Malaysia by the Domestic Violence Act 1994 (Act 521) (AKRT 1994). Using a descriptive approach and library research, the provisions of AKRT 1994 are critically analyzed. The findings of the study show that the amendments to AKRT 1994 in 2017 have improved the existing act. Among the main improvements are the expansion of the scope and definition of KRT as well as the introduction of the Emergency Protection Order (EPO). As a result, at present, not only victims of physical abuse, victims of emotional, psychological, and financial abuse are also eligible for protection under AKRT. In addition, victims can also seek immediate protection through EPO as it does not require the court’s permission which would normally be time-consuming. This 2017 amendment makes AKRT more proactive because it has taken into account the various problems faced by DV victims over the years. However, to make AKRT effective, victims need to have the courage to come forward to seek protection and justice.

Mango is a fruit that is very popular with the community, especially in Semarang. The taste is sweet, refreshing and has a high vitamine content is the reason this fruit has become one of the superior fruit. In the Semarang area there are quite a lot of mango trees with various varieties. These various mango varieties are potential genetic resources that need to be preserved. This study aims to explore the various mango tree varieats that grow in the municipal area of Semarang. Research techniques by exploring in 3 districts are Banyumanik, Tembalang and Gunung Pati. The results showed 14 varieties of mango and the most widely grown varieties by the people in the municipality of Semarang are arum manis and manalagi mango. Some of them are local mangoes, mango cultivation and imported mangoes. Local varieties of mango are only found in very small quantities and have begun to scarce, so it is feared that the supply of mango germplasm is increasingly depleting. Germplasm of local mango plants is important to be preserved as a wealth of genetic resources in the Municipality of Semarang

Primary dysmenorrhea is painful menstruation due to uterine functional origin without any other gynecologic diseases such as endometriosis or adenomyosis. The pain of primary dysmenorrhea is from hyper contraction or high sensitivity to pain. The primary dysmenorrhea has been treated by NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or oral contraceptives from the past. However, primary dysmenorrhea is not controlled in all patients by these treatments. Some patients need more supportive treatment. The many supportive treatment have tried to this condition. The art therapy can also tried for this supportive treatment, so we studied mandala art therapy for primary dysmenorrhea. The purpose of this study is observing the usefulness of art therapy for supportive therapy of primary dysmenorrhea.We estimate the degree of pain by VAS (Visual Analog Scale), and statistically compares the change of pain before and after mandala therapy by χ-square with Fisher’s exact test. We did mandala therapy 2 times/week from menstruation to next menstruation, and we compare the change of pain before and after mandala therapy by VAS score. The result of this study is as follows. We observed the pain change in 10 patients. The four of 10 patients felt no change in pain after therapy, but the 2 of 10 patients felt no pain after therapy. The four of 10 patients felt decreased pain after therapy although not disappear completely. Therefore, the six of 10 patients can be felt decreased pain after mandala therapy (P<0.05). The mandala art therapy can be useful for supportive therapy of primary dysmenorrhea. However, a study of the bigger population is needed to confirm this effect for primary dysmenorrhea

Earnings management (EM, hereafter), which affects the quality of corporate financial information, continues to receive increased attention from practitioners and legislators. The paper deals with this topic and attempts to investigate the EM practices around the tax rate cut following the Tunisian tax reform of 2021. Evidence of EM is examined by focusing on both accounting and real EM. From a sample of 61 Tunisian public offering companies, observed from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2021, the results estimated from the system GMM model argue that this tax rate reduction constitutes a real incentive to shift income from the period of higher tax rate (2020) towards the period of lower tax rate (2021) achieving significant savings for corporations. Furthermore, the results show that Tunisian firms have both accounting and real EM downward in the second half of 2020, and that the former is sharper. For the first half of 2021, the results show a joint use of accruals management and real management upwards, and that the latter is broader. These findings may be useful to tax policy-makers in the application of tax rules put in place to counter aggressive tax evasion. In addition, external auditors and tax auditors should consider the period around the change in the corporation tax rate to be more suspect.

تناولت الدراسة الإجراءات الأمنية المتخذة لإدارة أزمة كورونا في المملكة العربية السعودية؛ وذلك من حيث الأنشطة والأعمال والترتيب الزمني الخاضع للإجراءات الأمنية، وأوضحت الدراسة كذلك تصنيف الإجراءات الأمنية المتخذة لإدارة الأزمة، وكشفت عن الجهود الأمنية المبذولة في متابعة ورصد المخالفات الخاصة بذلك. وقد استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي متمثلًا في أسلوب تحليل المحتوى باستخدام أداة تحليل المحتوى كأداة لجمع المعلومات وقد طُبقت الدراسة على كافة البيانات الصادرة من قبل وزارة الداخلية السعودية للفترة من (2020) إلى (2022) المتعلقة بالإجراءات الأمنية المتخذة في أثناء أزمة كورونا وعددها (123) بيانًا رسميًا. كما خلصت إلى عدة نتائج؛ من أهمها: أن من أبرز الأنشطة والأعمال الخاضعة للإجراءات الأمنية لإدارة أزمة كورونا هو (التجول)، وجاء الربع الثاني من سنة (2020م) أعلى من حيث الترتيب الزمني الذي اتخذت فيه الإجراءات الأمنية لإدارة الأزمة، وأن أبرز إجراء أمني تم اتخاذه لإدارة أزمة كورونا هو إجراء (التعليق ورفع التعليق والحظر الجزئي)، وجاء الربع الأول من سنة (2021م) أعلى رصدًا للمخالفات الخاصة بذلك. وقد أوصت الدراسة؛ بوضع خطط لاستمرارية الأعمال في أثناء الأزمات لكافة المنظمات الحكومية، وبخاصة المنظمات والأجهزة الأمنية، وتطبيق المهام والأعمال الأمنية واستمرارها في أثناء الأزمات، وتوثيق الجهود الأمنية الاستباقية، واستثمار نجاح تجربة الأجهزة الأمنية السعودية في مواجهة وإدارة أزمة كورونا.

Manisa. Alaşehir yöresi bağlarında; Baklacı, Killik, Ilgın ve Kasaplı mevkilerinde toprak ve yaprak analizleri yapılarak, yörede gübrelemenin boyutları, bağların mineral beslenme durumları. (bazı makro ve mikro elementler) ile toprakların fiziksel ve kimyasal özellikleri (toprakların verimlilik düzeyleri) belirlenerek bir veri tabanının oluşturulması hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla 15 adet bağ alanından 0-30 ve 30-60 cm’den toprak numuneleri ve ben düşme döneminde tüm yaprak (yaprak ayası + yaprak sapı) olarak örnekler alınıp analizleri yapılmıştır. Analiz edilen topraklara göre; %97’sinde organik madde miktarı; %83’ünde toplam N; %21’inde alınabilir K; %3’ünde alınabilir Ca ve Mg miktarı çok düşük tespit edilmiştir. Toprak analizleri mikro element içerikleri yönüyle incelendiğinde %20’sinde alınabilir Fe; %43’ünde alınabilir Zn besin elementi açısından noksan olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra toprak analiz sonucuna göre tamamının alınabilir Mn ve Cu açısından yeterli olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca toprak analizi bor sonucuna göre örneklerin %80’inin alınabilir B’un toksite seviyesinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bitki analiz sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde; örneklerin tamamında toplam azot miktarının yeterli ve fazla olduğu, %33’ünde toplam K; %53’ünde toplam Ca miktarının noksan olduğu belirlenmiştir. Analiz edilen yaprakların tamamının alınabilir demir, çinko, mangan ve bakır açısından yeterli beslendiği saptanmıştır. Bitki örneklerinin tamamında toplam bor konsantrasyonunun toksik seviyede olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma sonucunda toprakların genel olarak hafif alkali reaksiyonlu, kireçsiz ya da az kireçli sınıfa girdiği ve bu nedenle incelenen mikro elementlerin (Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu) alınımında olumsuz etkilerin belirlenmediği söylenebilir. Her iki derinlikten alınan toprak örneklerin besin elementi kapsamları arasında önemli ilişkiler belirlenmiştir.

Belbel Colection merupakan salah satu usaha di bidangpenjualan yang mana pada toko ini menjual produk kosmetik. Selama ini dalam proses transaksi dilakukan secara umum, seperti pelanggan datang dan melakukan transaksi secara langsung. Dalam hal mencatatan stok produk juga masih dilakukan secara manual. Hal ini membuat perkembangan penjualannya kurang pesat karena mangsa pemasarannya tidak banyak. Dari masalah tersebut perlu dibuatnya sistem informasi persediaan dan penjualan kosmetik berbasis website dengan menggunakan wordpress. Dengan adanya sistem informasi di harapkan mampu mempermudah dalam pencatatan stok persedian, promosi secara online dan meningkatkan penjualan kosmetik dan memperluas daerah pemasaran.

Bulbochaete thanguensis Manasi Mandal & D. Maity (Oedogoniaceae) sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Sikkim Himalaya. The specimens were collected during a floristic survey in the high mountains of North Sikkim, part of Eastern Himalaya. It is morphologically superficially resembles with B. pygmaea Pringsheim ex Hirn, in having longitudinally costate oospore ornamentation with transverse lines between costae but differs in having straight, larger, dichotomously branched, elongated plant body, narrower and longer vegetative cells with wider upper end and supreme suffultory cell division. Moreover, narrower and longer oospore makes it distinct from B. pygmaea. The new species is also compared with its other two close relatives, B. pygmaea var. erecta Jao and B. tenuis Hirn var. haimensis Jao.

This study aimed to analyze the implementation, support, and inhibiting factors of nucu ngoruh in Dayak Siang traditional weddings. A qualitative method with observation, interviews, and documentation was utilized to get the research finding. The implementation of nucu ngoruh in traditional Dayak Siang marriages in Saripoi Village consisted of two versions. The first version of the wedding procession was making pondong, making lawang sakepeng, making hompong, and the marriage contract process. The second version of the marriage procession was pantan pulut, pali manasai, ngiap or kandan ngiap, second hompong and third hompong, which includes hompong balanga, lawang sakepeng, Manasai dance, hompong human/female, and the bride and groom sat side by side on the Mura gong. The supporting factor for nucu ngoruh was that indigenous peoples highly respected the provisions of social and divine values, so indigenous people adjusted to the provisions for the preparation of traditional goods, and the procession of traditional marriages might also be under customary rules. Finally, there were four inhibiting factors for nucu ngoruh. First, the groom was not ready either physically or mentally. The second was the lack of financial support provided. The third was the absence of people who mastered the art of sculpture was make statues to complete the implementation of the traditional Dayak Siang wedding. Fifth, there was no written text or manual procedure for implementing the traditional Dayak Siang wedding procession.

Este artículo tiene por objetivo presentar la experiencia de una institución de educación superior, a través de los resultados de la implementación de un modelo de dirección estratégica, investigando el impacto que presentan las etapas de análisis, formulación e implementación de este modelo para el periodo 2006-2017, 11 años. Para ello, en primer lugar, se desarrolla el marco teórico y, en segundo lugar, se expone la metodología de estudio de caso con el modelo de dirección implementado, al igual que la hipótesis y variables de investigación sobre las cuales se aplica posteriormente un análisis descriptivo, exploratorio, no experimental y se construye un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales (PLS-SEM). Los resultados de la investigación arrojan valores de R2 de 79,2% y 94,9%, verificando que la etapa de análisis estratégico impacta positivamente en la etapa de formulación e implementación que posee el modelo de dirección utilizado. Finalmente, se concluye que es relevante emplear un modelo que permita guiar a las instituciones de educación superior.
