Résumé :
We present the issue of the relationship between a man and a woman, analyze the concept of intrapersonal competence of a woman in a relationship with a man. This concept is considered from the point of view of different researchers. Structural components of intrapersonal competence are given: motivational, cognitive, executive, evaluative, relational and regulatory. The motivational component reflects the woman’s need for self-realization. The cognitive component reveals the reflection and reproduction of images of communication partners and relationships in dyadic interaction. The executive component reflects the strategies of a woman, applied by her in resolving a conflict with a man. The evaluation component reveals the level of satisfaction with relationships, which, in turn, is determined by the psychological maturity of the woman and her choice of adaptive coping strategies in dyadic interaction. The relational component reveals compatibility in the dyadic interaction “woman–man”. The regulatory component is determined by the forms of personal behavior of partners, their complementarity and congruence of assessments in dyadic interaction. Psychological factors are the fundamental reasons for the development of a woman’s intrapersonal competence, which are the source for starting the entire process of developing relations between partners, which determined its result. To optimize the factor solution we use the Varimax rotation method, which maximizes high loads on the factors and minimizes small loads. As a result, 5 factors were identified that explain most of the variability in the answers of the subjects: social emotional competence, competence in interaction with a partner, personal competence (understanding oneself and managing oneself), idealization of the image of a desired partner, tolerance and acceptance of others.

Résumé :
Focusing on gender role theory and the queen bee phenomenon, this study explored the differentiated exchange relationships between leaders and subordinates with different gender composition, and their influence on leader empowering behavior. We collected data from 1,211 subordinates of 286 teams at a Fortune 500 company in China through the questionnaire method. The empirical analysis results showed that the leader-member exchange relationship of the woman leader-woman subordinate composition was lower than that of the man leader-man subordinate composition, which further reduced leader empowering behavior. This study further used man leader-woman subordinate and woman leader-man subordinate compositions as control groups to verify the effectiveness of the queen bee phenomenon. We concluded that the queen bee phenomenon alone does not significantly affect leader empowering behavior, but that the combination of gender stereotypes and queen bee phenomenon has a significant effect.

Résumé :
The study attempted to help shape a fuller and deeper understanding of man-woman relationships and its attendant tensions, complications and intricacies seen and refracted through the feminist perspective and psychoanalytic lens. To achieve this objective, three selected Palanca award winning plays in the Philippines were critically examined to this end: The Chieftain’s Daughter by Felix Clemente, Celadons by Dhelia Racines, and Brisbane by Bobby Flores Villasis. Freudian psychoanalytic criticism and feminist perspective guided the analysis and interpretation of the text. It aimed to identify the type of man-woman conflicts in each play and the literary devices which are employed in the plays. It also aimed to examine the confluence factors which underlie the conflicts and the insights into the man-woman relationship conveyed by the selected plays. Based on the analysis, among the devices used to highlight the conflict were dialectics and symbolism. Some of the underlying factors which affect the conflicts were the pressure of traditional value and practices, greed, and insecurities. Thus, this study unveiled the nature of gender and conflict and the understanding of the man-woman relationships through the intervention or mediation of literature.

Woman always becomes an interesting topic to be discussed in religion. It is because of religion represents the way of life of mankind. It contains direct interconnected teachings with law and orders about the position and life of woman, both in worship and in particular relationship between man and woman, especially in terms of family relationships. During this, most of “the religious elite" are biased in understanding and interpretation of the religious texts in relation to women's issues, because they understand the religious texts literally, it seem to favor men over women. This paper discuss about reproductive rights in Islam. In Islam, woman and man are in the same position. It is stated clearly in both the Qur'an and the hadith.

The main theme of flamenco songs - urban folklore of Andalusia - is the relationship between a man and a woman. Couplets, written in the form of three or quatrains, tell about the evolution of feeling and serve as a source of information about the cultural, ideological and linguistic characteristics of the south of Spain. The authors of the couplets are representatives of an ethnoculturally heterogeneous socially vulnerable stratum of urban society. The purpose of the article is to understand the formation, existence and disintegration of the union of a man and a woman through the prism of a folk song. The material was the collection of A. Machado Alvarez, published in 1881, reflecting the manners and relationships of people of the 19th century.

For this reason, there a compulsion before human beings to live in society and be reliant on the functionality of others for his existence and livelihood. There are varieties of ties and bonds to be maintained with society, family and above all God with the help of connections and communication among individuals and masses. There are emotional bonds although human beings come from numerous cultures, ethnicities, races, nations, and social classes. Some relations are linked through blood but some are there based on emotions, trust, devotion, faith and needs. One of the most substantial human connections is that between a man and a woman. Therefore, the man-woman connection remains the pivotal point of any civilised society. Literature and literary texts capture the concrete and abstract image of human existence, relations, pleasures and pains. The present article brings out the different shades of relationships in the works of Khaled Hosseini. There are themes of expatriate literature in his works as an Afghan based writer having the concerns of diaspora. Asking the question of the emergence of the modern other, the paper explores the inversion of relationships between wife and woman, husband and man in an archeological analysis of a Talmudic reading by Emmanuel Levinas “And God Created Woman.” The theoretical framework of inquiry focuses on the development of relationships between the human on the one hand and the thinking and acting subject on the other. The guiding question is that of defining modern subjectivity by the disappearance of rabbinic discourse from its horizon.

Two short stories from Working Men by the American fiction writer Michael Dorris enact romantic heterosexual relationships in which a woman becomes the mentor who helps carry a man stuck in delayed adolescence into initiated manhood. Dorris's stories update and make accessible the mythical and magical elements that Robert Bly has described in his Iron John as being able to renew a man stuck in his boyhood woundedness. Where Bly discusses the female mentor for men in terms of “meeting the god woman” and the wild woman guarding a sacred pond, Dorris fleshes out his female guides in the form of what Bly calls “instigating wom[en],” contemporary women who possess a certain wisdom. These women play a life-transforming role in establishing a more mature, differentiated identity in men.

It is very interesting to study proverbs and sayings describing the image of a man and a woman in-nonnative Kazakh and English languages. Proverbs and sayings that describe the image of a man which are used in everyday spoken language add value to the theme of the article. In addition, the relevance of the work lies in the examination of cross-comparisons of proverbs and sayings between non-native languages. The article aims at studying proverbs and phrases in English that describe the appearance, character, social characteristics, and position of men in society. Gender is one of the most important parameters of binary opposition and social existence.

Résumé :
Marriages between an older man and a younger woman frequently end in divorce because the couple is unable to negotiate a critical change in the relationship. Such marriages are often based on an implicit contract in which the wife achieves rapid economic and professional advancement by marrying a successful and wealthier man while the husband gets an adoring and submissive wife who accepts his domination. This works only until the wife matures and demands a more equal relationship. This demand is often experienced by the husband as a breach of their contract and a betrayal of the marital agreement. An inability on his part to renegotiate the relationship is generally the precursor to divorce. This article explores the psychodynamics of such relationships as well as the counseling and legal issues raised by these divorces.

Résumé :
The thesis describes a program of research that investigated whether women's perceptions of intergroup conflict between men and women impact upon their interpersonal relationships with men. A series of three studies focus on two groups of women: women who perceive a high amount of gender-based discrimination and women who perceive relatively little gender-based discrimination. Unexpectedly, despite significant differences between the two groups in terms of their social indentities as women and their gender ideologies, there were no differences between them with respect to the nature and extent of their work, platonic, and intimate relationships with men. Two psychological mechanisms that may enable a woman to prevent perceptions of intergroup discrimination from impacting upon her intimate relationships are examined: the exceptional case and dissociative mechanisms. Although no support was found for the dissociative mechanism, strong support was found for the exceptional case mechanism. Women who perceive a high amount of discrimination, compared to those who perceived relatively little, are more likely to view their partners as exceptional in terms of their support of women's issues. Moreover, it was demonstrated in Study 3 that the male partners of these women are actually exceptional in terms of their support, as well as their negotiation, of women's issues.

Résumé :
AbstractThe chapter shows the interconnectedness of nationalism with the construction of the self and close relationships by studying the romantic correspondence of a Finnish nationalist couple in the mid-nineteenth century. Eiranen analyzes personal nationalism by looking at how nationalism was incorporated in the self-narrations of the letters and identifies emotions and gender as central elements in the construction of the national experience. The nationally interpreted male and female ideals formed the basis for the emotional relationship. The cause required gendered sacrifices, partly contradictory to the stereotypes: the man cast himself as an emotional national hero, the woman had to exercise stronger emotional control for his benefit. The chapter argues that the power of nationalism lay in its tight connection to profound, personally experienced meanings and motivations.

Résumé :
Elsie Clews Parsons (1874-1941) and her husband Herbert Parsons (1869-1925) present a very different pattern of conflict and accommodation in a marriage shaped by the wife’s determination to work. Both Elsie and Herbert came from wealthy and prominent New York families. When they married in 1900, after a six-year courtship, Elsie was an atheist, a feminist, and a social rebel who openly challenged female stereotypes and traditional roles. A Ph.D. in sociology, she was teaching at Barnard College and insisted on keeping her job. Herbert, a deeply religious and rather staid man, was a successful lawyer and politician. Although Elsie and Herbert seemed mismatched, I argue, in contrast to other of Elsie’s biographers, that their marriage was a love match. Their troubles began after Herbert was elected to Congress in 1904. Elsie gave up her teaching job, moved to Washington with their two children, and had four more children (two died shortly after birth). When the controversial views she espoused in her first book set off a public furor that offended and embarrassed Herbert, she stopped publishing under her own name. A few years later, she was wracked with jealousy when she thought he had fallen in love with another woman. Elsie and Herbert did not divorce, but they led increasingly separate lives after they returned to New York in 1911. Elsie organized her personal and domestic life around two new careers. After establishing a foothold in the feminist, bohemian intellectual world in Greenwich Village, she became a sought-after, influential social critic, writing for The Masses and The New Republic. Then she connected with Franz Boas’s professional circle and became a highly respected anthropologist, studying indigenous peoples in the American Southwest, the Caribbean, and South America. Elsie had two lengthy love affairs, with the architect Grant LaFarge, and the novelist Robert Herrick. She deliberately chose lovers who – unlike Herbert – were adventurous, interested in her work, and eager to travel with her. In the late teens and twenties, her relationship with Herbert gradually improved, in part because he took on more responsibility for their four surviving children. His unexpected death in 1925, while she was involved with Herrick, was a blow for Elsie. Deeply in love with Elsie, Herrick wrote about her in several novels and short stories in the 1920s. Initially supportive of her work, he became increasingly jealous of her success and deeply angry at being reduced to what he thought was a subordinate role in her life. His last book about her, published in 1932, several years after their affair ended, cruelly disparaged her and her work. Elsie was repeatedly disappointed by the men in her life, but she never stopped trying to implement her feminist vision of a more equitable and intimate relationship grounded in work rather than domestic life.

Résumé :
Abstract It is common to depict men as impregnating women, and thus to equate sex with pregnancy. But because pregnancy is the condition in a woman’s body caused by a fertilized ovum, there are actually two relationships involved in reproduction: a sexual relationship between a man and a woman and a pregnancy relationship between a fetus and a woman. Whereas a man can cause a woman to engage in a sexual relationship with him, a man cannot cause a woman’s body to change from a nonpregnant to a pregnant condition; the only entity that can do that is a fertilized ovum when it implants itself in a woman’s uterus. Thus, although a man and a woman can have a sexual relationship, they cannot, reproductively speaking, have a pregnancy relationship. Concomitantly, although a fetus and a woman can have a pregnancy relationship, they cannot have a sexual relationship. And to state the obvious, a fetus and a man can have neither a sexual nor a pregnancy relationship.

Résumé :
This paper examines gender issues in D. H. Lawrence’s short stories «New Eve and Old Adam», «England, My England», «Sun», «The Woman Who Rode Away», «Tickets, Please», «Monkey Nuts», «Samson and Delilah» and «In Love» which represent the different periods of his work. Changes that took place in the first decade of the 20th century led to a change in personal relationships and the relationship between a man and a woman. Switches of the traditional social roles of a man and a woman are artistically represented in Lawrence’s short prose. The paper is focused on how Lawrence destroyed gender stereotypes, certain rules and conventional boundaries regarding acceptable and established relationships between a man and a woman in the Victorian era. His delicate psychologism and writing craft depict a sensuality and eroticism of the man-woman relationship which was unusual for the English literature of the turn of the century. Lawrence showed how the First World war had affected people’s lives and their attitude towards each other, and how consequences of the war caused a conflict between a man and a woman. Analysed stories are about families living in different conditions and going through different situations, but in each story there are confrontation, emotional tension and real battles between men and women, and a violation of traditional gender roles. It shows what a fine line there is between hatred and love which seem to be woven into one whole. Victorian morality was receding but the new social roles of men and women had not yet been worked out. This situation remained as a characteristic one, apparently, for the entire first half of the 20th century. Sometimes, these new, not yet codified relationships between a man and a woman were defined as a ‘war of the sexes’, but it was not a war aimed at the victory by side but a search for that space in which the personality could be realized. This paper looks at the writer’s emphasis on the psychological aspects of man-woman relationships. The themes in the short stories were not new. What was new was the insight, sophistication and psychologism they were illuminated with. The sensual images of protagonists and the means of their depiction, and the technique of reflecting the subconscious of the characters were new and unusual for most of Lawrence’s readers and contemporaries.

Résumé :
This chapter investigates the seventeenth-century cultural and historical context of Milton's portrayal the relationship of Adam and Eve in Paradise Lost. This approach aims to bring the intellectual, doctrinal, and political debates with which he engaged in his portrayal of the relationship between the sexes. The chapter examines Milton' understanding of the ideas of woman, womanhood, and the cultural debates about the relationship of man and woman in marriage and in the household, and the ways in which these conceptions formed his political and theological outlook. Milton's thoughts on gender and marriage, which were grounded in reformation and seventeenth-century Puritan teachings, in political debates on family and political obligation, and in the ideological and imaginative relationships between politics and gender, formed his prose and poetry on the relationship of man and woman.

The chapter deals with such a difficult phenomenon as Islamic family studies according to the legal issues. Since in Islam marriage is considered sacred, and the family is indestructible, the sanctity of ties between a man and a woman is protected, and the joint life of a man and a woman without marriage is not allowed. The family is considered the main social unit of society, and all relationships, values, and traditions in a given society are associated to some extent with the family. The family is a sacred fortress, contributing to the formation of the younger generation, and has an important place in the society, since its foundation has been of great importance.

Résumé :
In this essay, Marler shows how queer connections and fluid identities served to foster more lasting bonds among the Bloomsberries, making lifelong loving and working partnerships possible where by stricter definitions no such connection could have been made. While the young group of friends may have launched into love triangles experimentally, or as the expected outcome of romantic rivalries, the triangle would often prove to complicate but bolster the original dyads. At a time when sodomy was a felony, primary heterosexual relationships also nicely concealed homosexual relationships. Or the presence of a desirable woman in a triangle sometimes allowed a physical relationship to bloom between a homosexual man (Lytton Strachey or Duncan Grant, say) and a mostly-straight man, such as Ralph Partridge or David Garnett. The Bloomsbury triangle not only rejected Victorian sexual mores but, more radically, placed sexual and celibate love on equal footing.

Résumé :
This chapter explores how, through formal filmic grammar, Banietemad has depicted love and relations between men and women in this film. This chapter also demonstrates how Iranian cinema chastely explores love and expresses its own “Iranian form” regarding relationships between man and woman, through constructing space in the way that traditional Iranian architecture does (external spaces for guests and internal spaces for family and private activities), but also through using stylistic devices reminiscent of classical Persian poetry.

Résumé :
On a theoretical basis, it is known that people with autism face more difficulties and the same is true among university students. According to psychological and pedagogical theories these difficulties are characterized as complex cognitive, emotional and social and can have long-term consequences, such as dropping out of university and unemployment. Understanding the challenges students with autism face can help institutions better support this group while allowing them to take small steps toward adulthood through the opportunities offered by higher education. In the methodology we met fifteen students with autism following the targeted individual structured integration interventions of special education and training they received at the University using the pedagogical principles of Targeted, Individual Structured Integration Interventions of Special Education and Training (TISIPIf [SET]). They participated in semi-structured interviews and discussions about their metacognitive skills and experiences of support in higher education. In the context of the implementation of the Action “Supporting Social Care Interventions for Students of the Agricultural University of Athens, with OPS Code 5045556”, thirteen [13] response protocols were received from [ten men and three women with MA aged 25.8 years]. From the University of Peloponnese, two protocols were completed by a man and a woman with MA aged 23.2 years]. The interviews were subjected to fundamental thematic analysis. In the results from the discussions and interviews of the students with autism, three main themes were identified that were given meaning in the present study as small steps towards adulthood. Relationships with others [1], independence in decision-making [2] and support in their individual study method [3]. While each of these included positive and negative elements, the relationships were described as connecting all data of metacognitive skills leading to adulthood. When relationships with professors and fellow students were supportive, complex cognitive, emotional, and social difficulties were said to be “nonexistent”. But when characterized by stigmatizing attitudes, students faced much greater difficulties at university.

Résumé :
Gender equality means giving equal opportunities to all people, when it comes to some human activity. According to the Law of Sport's Republic of Serbia, both sexes have equal rights to participate in sport. But, if all have equal chances, why do we have fare more man than woman? One explanation are available opportunities: in equality case, all have the same treatment (the same position), while in equity case all have justful treatment (resources for success are compatible with needs of one specific person or group). Equality insists of equal possibilities and conditions on the start line, while equity comes as result, in the end, when all have ensured justful and equal possibilities not at the beginning, but for reaching the goal and success. So, the aim of this study is to investigate relationship between gender equality and gender equity in sport in Serbia. The sample consisted of 1013 athletes: 62.88 % man and 37.12 % woman. The questionnaire consisted of sociodemographic data and gender classification of sports. The results show that there are big differences in representation of woman in some sports, and that 58.33 % of sports are perceived as gender neutral - 62.5 %. There were egal presence of man in neutral and masculine sports, while they were absent from feminine typed sports. So, it might be concluded that the process of sex typing in both sexes is moved toward neutral sports, which supports thesis about equality, but not equity, since the process of sex typing of sports is still more present in men.

Résumé :
The paper deals with couples in de facto unions, especially the ones formed by a man and a woman. It seeks to define cohabitation and differentiate the rights and duties of cohabitees from the ones connected with the status relations between both the opposite-sex couples (marriage) and the same-sex couples (registered partnership). As there are seldom any kinds of agreements between cohabitees, special attention is devoted to the relevant legal rules in all the Books of the Czech Civil Code and their applicability to cohabitees during their relationship and after the break-up or upon the death of one of them. It is stressed that there is no difference between children born out of wedlock and within marriage. Once parenthood is legally established, there is no discrimination of non-married mothers and non-married fathers towards the children. And besides, there are special provisions that protect the weaker party: property claims of the non-married mother from the child´s father for a reasonable time and within adequate limits.

Résumé :
Luosha Haishi 羅殺海市 (Lz 132) is a very emblematic tale of Pu Songling’s (蒲松齡, 1640–1715), as it involves emblematic themes of Liaozhai zhiyi (聊齋誌異): a critical view of society, an adventure into enchanted lands, and a complex relationship to an independent, powerful woman. The tale tells about the journey of a man who, after having been lost at sea, visits two imaginary worlds. Luosha Haishi reveals its originality when comparing both these places. The first one, the Country of Rakshasas, is a state in which physical appearance determines one’s social status. This society is a satirical portrayal mirroring Pu’s vision of Qing China officialdom. Conversely, the City of the Sea, the character’s second place of stay, is a utopian undersea place where the character knows immediate success. Luosha Haishi thus makes the bitter statement of the impossibility to access glory and richness when one does not wish to hide behind appearances, while for it to occur it would require an ideal world that exists only in imagination.

Résumé :
Social media influencer marketing has recently received significant attention. However, this kind of social media influencer marketing has not been fully demonstrated in the context of tourism destination management/marketing. This study developed a research model based on the theory of persuasion, consisting of three influencer attributes and three characterizations as antecedents of revisit intention to destination. Data were collected through an experimental survey for respondents who live in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan. Here, two YouTubers (a man and a woman) created each tourism promotion video about one Kyoto cuisine restaurant in Kyoto. Respondents were assigned to a group to watch one of the videos, and after watching the video, they answered questions about the YouTuber and their intention to visit the tourist destination via a web questionnaire. The study found that PSR (Parasocial relationship) had a significantly positive impact on revisit intentions to destination relative to other characterizations on all groups. But the personal attributes positively related to PSR differed depending on the YouTubers and the respondents' place of residence. Therefore, tourism video marketing strategies utilizing social media influencers in destination marketing need to be fine-tuned based on the influencer's personal attributes, and characterizations considering the targets' place of residence.
