Résumé :
The relationship between employee readiness and turnover intentions was investigated among (N = 48) supervisors and (N = 192) subordinates, men and women between the ages 18 to 65, randomly selected from four randomly selected hospitals within the southern region of the United States. Instrumentation for the study included the Blanchard, Hersey, and Hambleton (1977) Readiness Scale, the Jackofsky and Slocum’s (1987) Turnover Intent Scale, and Demographic questionnaire. Statistical analysis using SPSS 24 software included Pearson correlation, Paired t – test, Independent t – test, and Descriptive statistics. Results of the paired t-test failed to show any significant differences between Staff Rated Total Readiness (SRTR) and Supervisor Rated Total Readiness (SRTR). However, an independent sample t - test revealed a statistically significant difference between the mean scores in Total Readiness (TR) for clinical and nonclinical staff. A Pearson correlation matrix for Staff Rated Job Readiness (SRJR), Staff Rated Psychological Readiness (SRPR), and Staff Rated Total readiness (SRTR); and Supervisor Rated Staff Job Readiness (SSRJR), Supervisor Rated Psychological Readiness (SSRPR), and Supervisor Rated Total Readiness (SSRTR), and Turnover Intentions (TI) revealed sufficient evidence of a significant positive correlation between Staff Self-Rated Job Readiness (SRJR) and Staff Self-Rated Psychological Readiness (SRPR) ( r = .837, p = .000; Supervisor Rated Staff Job Readiness (SRSJR) and Supervisor Rated Psychological Readiness (SRPR) r = .843, p = .000; Staff Self-Rated Job Readiness (SRJR) and Supervisor Rated Staff Psychological Readiness (SRPR) r = .832, p = .000. In terms of turnover intent, there was significant negative correlation between Job Readiness, Psychological Readiness, Total Readiness and Turnover Intent [TI – SRJR (r = –.143, p = .026), TI – SRPR (r = – .133, p = .040), TI – SSRJR (r = –.140, p = .030), TI – SSRPR (r = –.137, p = .034)] among employees.

Résumé :
Unemployed individuals of pre-retirement age face significant challenges in finding a new job. This may be partly due to their lack of psychological readiness to go through a job interview. We view psychological readiness as one of the psychological attitude components. It is an active conscious readiness to interact with a certain aspect of reality, based on previously acquired experience. It includes a persons’ special competence to manage their activities and cope with anxiety. We created Job Interview Simulation Training (JIST) – a computer-based simulator, which allowed unemployed job seekers to practice interviewing repeatedly in a stress-free environment. We hypothesized that completion of JIST would be related to increase in pre-retirement job seekers’ psychological readiness for job interviewing in real life. Participants were randomized into control (n = 18) and experimental (n = 21) conditions. Both groups completed pre- and post-intervention job interview role-plays and self-reporting forms of psychological readiness for job interviewing. JIST consisted of 5 sessions of a simulated job interview, and the experimental group found it easy to use and navigate as well as helpful to prepare for interviewing. After finishing JIST-sessions the experimental group had significant decrease in heart rate during the post-intervention role-play and demonstrated significant increase in their self-rated psychological readiness, whereas the control group did not have changes in these variables. Future research may help clarify whether JIST is related to an increase in re-employment of pre-retirement job seekers.

Résumé :
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the linkages between leadership and satisfaction models with neural networks to epistemologically explore both the theoretical and practical basis of these paradigms to analyze the effect employee readiness has on job satisfaction. A review of the literature indicates an absence of a paradigmatic precursor to the satisfaction-performance dyadic. Revisiting theoretical frameworks builds a reconceptualized prism that amalgamates leadership and job satisfaction constituents to form a theoretical scaffold and linkage between employee readiness and job satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach Reviewing the literature explores a theoretical existence of a readiness model preceding the satisfaction-performance paradigm that measures how the amalgam of readiness variables affects job satisfaction. This conceived theory uses a unidirectional model that extends the linear progression and institutes a backwards propagation linkage to the satisfaction-performance linkage using the following unidirectional correlation: readiness-satisfaction→ satisfaction-performance. Using a neural network approach, a total of 160 companies are integrated into a simulation using leadership, satisfaction and readiness variables, with an emphasize on high relationship, to ascertain the effect of readiness on job satisfaction. Findings While there are studies that interchangeably link satisfaction and performance, revisiting the literature provides theoretical insight that validates the formation of a preceding construct that converges leadership and satisfaction constituencies to form a dyadic relationship between readiness and satisfaction. Research has tirelessly attempted to discover variable correlation between job performance and job satisfaction. However, these attempts are met with contradictory results. To truly link employee readiness to the job satisfaction/job performance dyad, a neural network is created, which deduces that random probabilities confirm the continuous exactitude of a positive correlation between readiness and job satisfaction. This, in turn, confirms an existent theoretical precursor to the satisfaction-performance paradigm. The implications of not linking job readiness to satisfaction and performance can potentially leave managers amiss when triangulating performance decline. Reclassifying the satisfaction-performance dyadic corroborates Judge et al.’s (2001) theory that reinventions of this impression should be researched, and Graen and Uhl-Bien’s (1991) conclusive remarks that an evaluation beyond “trait-like” individual differences of leaders is necessary to recognize the leadership paradigm loop, which is inclusive of the leader, the follower and the dyadic relationship. Originality/value This research paper is useful for practitioners and academics to refer as the comparative and intersecting explanation of leadership and job satisfaction models, as it peripherally conveys a legitimate view of a preceding relational construct that will add value to the relevance of employee readiness as it affects job satisfaction. In addition, the neural network approach is a sound and unique method to algorithmically validate the correlation between job satisfaction models and leadership. Through codifying, the environmental variables comprised Herzberg et al.’s (1959) motivation and hygiene factors that are directly related to a leader-member exchange function, an evidentiary linkage validates the literature works of Hersey and Blanchard (2001) and directly links it to job satisfaction precursors.

Résumé :
Any organization’s innovation is the key factor for gaining sustained competitive advantage. In achieving the innovation, change is an important factor and to bring about the change, employees’ change readiness is indispensable. So, creating employees’ change readiness largely avoids the resistance to change. This study mainly attempts to explore the positions of employees’ job satisfaction and to analyze the impact of job satisfaction on change readiness. To explore the position, cross sectional research under descriptive research design and casual research design have been adopted respectively. Based on the primary data collected from branch managers of Global IME Bank, the researcher explored the impact of job satisfaction on change readiness. Under the descriptive statistics, minimum, maximum, mean and standard deviation have been used to describe the position of managers’ job satisfaction. Under the casual analysis, Karl Pearson’s correlation and regression analysis have been adopted to analyze the impact of job satisfaction on change readiness and test first hypothesis. Under the inferential statistics, independent sample t-test and analysis of variance have been adopted to test the second hypothesis. Cronbach’s Alpha has been calculated to test the reliability of data. The position of managers’ job satisfaction was found to be above to the average in investigated banks. It was also identified significant positive relationship between job satisfaction and change readiness and no significant difference in change readiness in different groups of gender, age, level of education and length of employment. This study proposes that managers should increase employees’ job satisfaction level to create employees’ change readiness so as to reduce the change resistance significantly and introduce the change successfully.

Résumé :
Online professional networking platforms are widely used and may help workers to search for and obtain jobs. We run the first randomized evaluation of training work seekers to join and use one of the largest platforms, LinkedIn. Training increases the end-of-program employment rate by 10 percent (7 percentage points), and this effect persists for at least 12 months. The available employment, platform use, and job search data suggest that employment effects are explained by work seekers using the platform to acquire information about prospective employers and perhaps by work seekers accessing referrals and conveying information to prospective employers on the platform. Résumé :
Graduate recruitment and selection differs from other contexts in that graduate applicants generally lack job-related experience. Recent research has highlighted that employers are placing increasing value on graduates being work ready. Work readiness is believed to be indicative of graduate potential in terms of long term job performance and career advancement. A review of the literature has found that current graduate recruitment and selection practices lack the rigour and construct validity to effectively assess work readiness. In addition, the variety of interchangeable terms and definitions articulated by employers and academics on what constitutes work readiness suggests the need to further refine this construct. This paper argues that work readiness is an important selection criterion, and should be examined systematically in the graduate assessment process, as a construct in itself. The ineffectiveness of current assessment methods in being able to measure work readiness supports the need to develop a specific measure of work readiness that will allow more effective decision practices and potentially predict long term job capacity and performance.

Résumé :
The subject of stimulating employees toward digital transformation has always been one of the most significant topics, attracting the interests of scientists and decision-makers. This study analyzes the impact of critical factors, including self-efficacy, attitude, leadership, and employee characteristics on employee readiness for digital transformation and job performance. The variables were selected based on the extended theory of planned behavior and personal resource adaption models. To achieve the research objective, partial least squares structural equation modeling was employed. Data were collected from a survey of 302 employees of SMEs in Vietnam. Research findings showed that employees attitude (β = 0.1148; p < 0.05), self-efficacy (β = 0.3737; p < 0.05), and characteristics (β = 0.3328; p < 0.05) affected their readiness for digital transformation. Employees self-efficacy and characteristics also demonstrated direct impacts on job performance. Meanwhile, leadership showed no direct impact (p = 0.6430) but an indirect impact on job performance through readiness (β = 0.1360, p < 0.05). Additionally, among the factors, employee readiness is the most substantial predictor of job performance (β = 0.5152). The findings can benefit Vietnamese SME managers and policymakers, as they can better understand employees and develop effective strategies and measures to promote employee readiness and job performance in a digital transformation context. Résumé :
Purpose: This study attempted to help manage nursing manpower by identifying nursing practice readiness, job stress, and self-efficacy that affect the job satisfaction of novice nurses in a different working environment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: The data collection period was from January 03 to July 31, 2022. The subjects of this study were 203 clinical nurses who had been working at tertiary general hospitals and general hospitals for 6~24 months among subscribers of a portal site specializing in nurse employment and information sharing. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS/Win 25.0 and frequency percentage, mean, and standard deviation were calculated, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were performed, and the variable selection method was set as stepwise. Results: The subjects' nursing practice readiness was a mean score of 3.05 (out of 4 points), job stress was a mean score of 3.45 (out of 5 points), self-efficacy was a mean score of 3.69 (out of 5 points), and job satisfaction was a mean score of 3.38 (out of 5 points). Nursing practice readiness, job stress, self-efficacy and job satisfaction in work-life balance showed a significant difference. The subjects' job satisfaction was positively correlated with nursing practice readiness(r=.67, p<.001) and self-efficacy(r=.65, p<.001), and job stress (r=-.25, p<.001) showed a negative correlation. Factors influencing job satisfaction include self-efficacy(β=.40, p<.001), nursing practice readiness (β=.33, p<.001), and work-life balance(β=.17, p<.001) and the explanatory power for job satisfaction was 59.0%. Conclusion: In order to increase the job satisfaction of novice nurses, it is necessary to increase self-efficacy so that they can actively cope with various nursing tasks in the clinical field. Confidence in being able to faithfully perform nursing duties as a professional should be enhanced. In addition, it is necessary to identify the level of individual nursing practice readiness of novice nurses in advance and educate them in nursing practice readiness appropriate to the level. They should be trained to have clinical judgment, nursing practice, and professional values and attitudes. It is important to provide high-quality nursing services to patients by creating a working environment and properly distributing nursing tasks so that novice nurses can maintain a balance between work and life. Since the subjects of this study were only those who signed up for a portal site specializing in nurse recruitment information, there is a limit to generalization. Therefore, after the end of COVID-19, comparative studies are needed targeting various regions and medical institutions.

This study aims to determine the effect of work stress on readiness to change with coping strategies as a moderating variable. We used a cross-sectional survey design for 124 archivists, 58 men, and 66 women. For data analysis, we conducted regression and moderation analysis. We collected data using a questionnaire consisting of three measuring tools: Job Stress Scale (JSS), Readiness for Change Scale, and Brief-Cope. The results showed that work stress significantly affected readiness to change, with a coefficient of determination of 86.4%. Adaptive coping strategies act as moderators and strengthen the effect of work stress on readiness to change with an increase in the coefficient of determination to 87.9% and a beta coefficient of .020. However, maladaptive coping strategies cannot act as a moderator in the effect of job stress on readiness to change.

Résumé :
The article describes the procedure of development and validation of a new questionnaire which measures the level of psychological executor’s readiness for transition to management. In understanding the structure of readiness, we proceed from the idea that the psychological readiness is a consequence of the unfolding process of managerial self-determination, which means that personalistic sense of management and worker’s own estimates as a leader and a Manager are measurable components of psychological executor’s readiness to transition to management. The peculiarity of the questionnaire is a direct measurement of readiness, readiness is not understood as a personal trait, but as an attitude or a mood. The questionnaire showed the presence of construct validity and high reliability, both for internal consistency and retest. This fact allows to use it as a psychodiagnostic tool, which is applicable in the practical work of the organizational psychologist.

Transformation toward digitalization requires employees’ readiness to adapt to the new job structure. Adaptability is the employees’ ability to adapt to changes. Employees with adaptive performance can solve problems creatively, manage volatile situations and handle pressure effectively. Adaptive performance can be enhanced when employees are ready to adopt the utilization of digital technology or technology readiness. Technology readiness is the tendency of employees to use new technology to achieve goals related to their lives and work. However, an individual’s tendency to utilize digital technology varies depending on their perception of their job’s meaningfulness and the personality that the person has. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between employees’ technology readiness and adaptive performance, and to examine the role of job meaningfulness as a mediator and proactive personality as a moderator. Data was analyzed using the PLS-SEM. The results showed that employees with the tendency to utilize technology in their jobs have higher adaptive performance. Furthermore, the relationship is mediated by job meaningfulness and is enhanced by employees with highly proactive personalities. The findings from this study can drive organizations to motivate their employees and provide a flexible job structure to encourage the employees to utilize technology more effectively.

Résumé :
The analysis of students' perceptions of job readiness was conducted using the Pareto analysis method. The results showed that interpersonal skills were the main factor that most influenced students' perceptions of job readiness, with a frequency of 40%. Hard skills had a frequency of 37%, while soft skills had a frequency of 23%. Interpersonal skills are necessary for building good relationships between employees and superiors, colleagues, and customers. Hard skills determine whether employees have the technical skills required in their field of work, while soft skills are essential in problem-solving and making the right decisions in the workplace. Therefore, students need to improve their interpersonal skills by training skills such as communication, leadership, collaboration, and empathy. Hard skills can be improved by increasing technical knowledge and direct practice in the desired field of work. Soft skills can be honed through exercises in creativity, innovation, data analysis, and conflict resolution. Students also need to understand the importance of having a balanced set of interpersonal, hard, and soft skills to prepare themselves well for the job market. They should take advantage of opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, internships, or relevant training and certification courses. By improving their interpersonal, hard, and soft skills, students will be able to strengthen their perception of job readiness and increase their chances of getting good jobs and succeeding in the future. Furthermore, companies can obtain more qualified and productive employees, helping them to achieve their business goals more effectively. Keywords: Student Perceptions, Job Readiness, Interpersonal Skills, Hard Skills, Soft Skills, Pareto, Gaps
