Résumé :
Abstract This article studies the relationship between colophons for, and the content of, Dunhuang manuscripts of three indigenous Chinese Buddhist scriptures: the Jiu zhuzhongsheng kunan jing, the Xin pusa jing, and the Quanshan jing. I find that the aspirations for copying these scriptures and the ways of using them are mostly consistent with their content. The patrons or users of these scriptures seem to have largely understood their content. Also, the similarities in the content, and the length of the Jiu zhuzhongsheng kunan jing and the Xin pusa jing should be two factors that account for why these scriptures were frequently copied as one set. Concerns for one’s own family and the relevant instructions in the texts may have led patrons to prefer to copy the Xin pusa jing twice, but the other two scriptures only once as a single scribal act.

Résumé :
In the 1890s Sir Henry Head discovered certain areas of the skin that develop tenderness (allodynia) in the course of visceral disease. These areas were later termed “Head zones”. In addition, he also emphasized the existence of specific points within these zones, that he called “maximum points”, a finding that seems to be almost forgotten today. We hypothesized that two important groups of acupuncture points, the diagnostically relevant Mu and Shu points, spatially and functionally coincide with these maximum points to a large extent. A comparison of Head's papers with the Huang Di Neijing (Yellow Thearch's Inner Classic) and the Zhen Jiu Jia Yi Jing (Systematic Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion), two of the oldest still extant Chinese sources on acupuncture, revealed astonishing parallels between the two concepts regarding both point locations and functional aspects. These findings suggest that the Chinese discovery of viscerocutaneous reflexes preceded the discovery in the West by more than 2000 years. Furthermore, the fact that Chinese medicine uses Mu and Shu points not only diagnostically but also therapeutically may give us new insights into the underlying mechanisms of acupuncture.

Résumé :
The mutual development of airport groups and regions is gradually going global with the economic globalization. There is a contradiction between Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (Jing-Jin-Ji) Airport Group and regional development, which leads to the unbalanced development of aviation enterprises in the region. Therefore, it is of major theoretical and practical significance to analyze the coordinated development relationship between Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group and the region. This paper selects representative index system, establishes the adaptability evaluation model of airport group and regional development, and quantitatively analyzes the adaptability level of Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group and radiation area. Taking New York Airport Group as a reference, the synergy degree between Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group and the region is evaluated by the synergy evaluation model. Analyze the reasons for the development of New York Airport Group, and put forward the measures for the coordinated development of Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group and the region in the future. The results show that the synergy index (SD) of Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group is 0.5381, which is lower than that of New York Airport Group (0.7507), and Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group is barely synergetic. It is necessary to optimize airspace, allocate flight resources, speed up the development of airport economy, and optimize the structure of airport groups. Jing-Jin-Ji Airport Group will be accelerated to enter a high-quality collaborative stage from the aspects of system and resource integration and government leadership.

Résumé :
Benign prostatic hyperplasia and its associated lower urinary tract symptoms seriously affect both the physical and mental health of older men. In order to determine the efficiency of Chinese Qigong Yi Jin Jing on prostate health in older individuals, thirty participants were randomized into either an Yi Jin Jing group (n = 15) or a control group (n = 15). After the 6-month intervention, the Yi Jin Jing group showed a significant decrease in international prostate symptom score and a significant increase in maximal urinary flow rate (compared with the control group p = .005, p = .001, respectively). Also, testosterone level increased and estrogen/testosterone ratio decreased in the Yi Jin Jing group (compared with the baseline p = .004, p = .002, respectively); estrogen level and estrogen/testosterone ratio were lower in the Yi Jin Jing group (compared with the control group p = .029, p = .012, respectively). The results showed that Yi Jin Jing is a promising way to reduce the risk of benign prostatic hyperplasia-lower urinary tract symptoms in older men.

Résumé :
The regional differences in carbon dioxide (CO2) variations from the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (Jing-Jin-Ji) region from 2015 to 2021 are analyzed in this study. This study shows an annual increase and a seasonal cycle; the CO2 annual growth rate was about 2.63 ppm year−1, with the highest value being in spring and the lowest in summer. The spatial distribution is unbalanced, regional differences are prominent, and the CO2 concentration is lower in the north of the Jing-Jin-Ji region (like Zhangjiakou, Chengde, and Qinhuangdao). Land-type structures and population economy distributions are the key factors affecting CO2 concentration. By analyzing the land-type structures over Jing-Jin-Ji in 2020, we find that cropland, woodland, and grassland (CWG) are the main land cover types in Jing-Jin-Ji; the proportion of these three types is about 83.3%. The woodland areas in Zhangjiakou, Chengde, and Qinhuangdao account for about 65% of the total woodland areas in Jing-Jin-Ji; meanwhile, the grassland areas in these three regions account for 62% of the total grassland areas in Jing-Jin-Ji. CO2 concentration variation shows a high negative correlation with CWG land areas (coefficient of determination (R2) > 0.76). The regions with lower population and GDP secondary industry (SI) density also have lower CO2 concentration (like Zhangjiakou, Chengde, and Qinhuangdao), and the regions with higher population and GDP SI density also have higher CO2 concentration (like the southeast of Jing-Jin-Jin).

Résumé :
Late Tang Shi Jing-tang called on Kithan to aid after the rebellion. As a result, Kithan dispatched troops to destroy Late Tang and help Shi Jing-tang to establish Late Jin. Shi Jing-tang gave Yan-yun-shi-liu-zhou to Kithan in return for this support and paid a huge regular payment of property every year. Shi Jing-tang devoted himself to Kithan's Tai-zong through his reign; the provision of supplies was also faithful. Due to this attitude of Shi Jing-tang, no problems occurred between Kithan and Late Jin during his reign. However, change occurred in 942 when Shi Jing-tang died. Late Jin refused to call himself a servant to Kithan. Kithan then angered and decided on the policy of the invasion of Late Jin. Kithan began the invasion in 946 and destroyed Late Jin. In 947, Tai-zong of Kithan entered Kaifeng, the capital of Late Jin. Since then, Tai-zong has also tried to stabilize order immediately. Tai-zong, after stabilizing Kaifeng's situation, performed a ceremony to be crowned emperor. His emperor's ceremony followed thoroughly Chinese conventions. The country's name was also changed to Liao. Tai-zong hoped to be accepted as a Chinese monarch by the people of North China. He was directed toward Chinese domination and Chinese monarchy, but lacked understanding of the principles of Chinese administrative organizations, and thus the domination of Liao caused resentment of the people in various places. In this situation, in March 947, Tai-zong of Kithan abandoned direct rule of North China and returned to the north. The withdrawal of Tai-zong was apparently an arbitrage of failures over North China's rule.

Résumé :
Recently, synergistic monitoring of air pollution prevention and control in Jing-Jin-Ji area is coming up to an important issue in environment protection field under the circumstances of cooperation between Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei region. It is of great concern for government to maintain the effectiveness of monitoring effect so that the prevention and control of air pollution is guaranteed, further the air condition of Jing-Jin-Ji area would be improved. For the purpose of evaluating the synergistic monitoring effectiveness, a evaluation index system for air pollution prevention and control in Jing-Jin-Ji area should be established so as to conduct the evaluation process in a scientific and rational way. By analyzing the general principles of setting up an index system, we summarize six principles for the establishment which includes comprehensiveness, purpose, simplicity, independence, hierarchy and feasibility. On the basis of the principles mentioned above, we further break the evaluation problem into 4 targets and 23 indexes so that the index system is established. Through the index system we proposed, government and enterprises can effectively evaluate the synergistic monitoring effect of air pollution prevention and control in Jing-Jin-Ji area so that scholars and supervisors are capable to further study relative problems.

Résumé :
The relationship between water and energy is extremely close and complex, especially in water use system. However, the energy consumption of water systems has been ignored in water resources management due to the lack of deep understanding of the water-energy nexus. Based on analysis of waterrelated energy in water use, this paper selected Jing-Jin-Ji region of China and California of the United States to conduct a research study and found that the energy consumption of water use systems accounted for about 16% and 20% of the total electricity consumption of Jing-Jin-Ji region and California, respectively, water use has shifted more energy-intensive. This paper systematically quantified the urban water–energy relationship, analyzed the water supply structure and the energy efficiency and energy consumption in different water system sectors, and found that California’s total water use is 3.3 times that of Jing-Jin-Ji region, but the energy consumption of California’s water systems is only 2.3 times that of Jing-Jin-Ji region. This study suggests that water conservation is a cost-effective way to save energy, and it is necessary to quantitatively analyze the water-energy nexus for a more comprehensive and deep understanding of water resources management.

Abstract In view of the complexity of traditional eco-environmental quality evaluation index system and the time-consuming calculation, this paper used remote sensing ecological index (RSEI), combined with MODIS products and GEE platform, to quantitatively evaluate the eco-environmental quality and land use in Jing-Jin-Ji from 2010 to 2020, and analysed the response relationship between eco-environmental quality and ecological land. The results showed that: 1) The eco-environmental quality in Jing-Jin-Ji showed a “V” shaped change trend in the past ten years, with its average value first decreased from 0.51 to 0.46, and then increased to 0.48; 2) The dynamic degree of arable and grass land in Jing-Jin-Ji was negative, while forest land was positive. The average annual increment of construction land was the highest (638.72 km2•y−1); 3) There existed good consistency between the average RSEI value and the change trend of ecological land in Jing-Jin-Ji, but the change rate was not synchronous, which showed that the increased rate of ecological land was higher than the decreased rate, while the increased rate of the average RSEI value was significantly lower than the decreased rate, reflecting that the recovery rate of eco-environmental quality was lower than the degradation rate.

Résumé :
China’s rapid urbanization has caused dramatically increasing energy consumption in the district heating systems of the building sector in the Jing-Jin-Ji urban agglomeration, and this change has led to enormous air pollution issues in this region. However, the drivers and the sustainable development process of the district heating system of the building sector have not been investigated to understand the management of energy conservation and emissions reduction in the Jing-Jin-Ji urban agglomeration. This study investigates the drivers of the district heating energy consumption of the building sector (DHEB) in the Jing-Jin-Ji urban agglomeration between 2004 and 2016 by developing a decomposition framework. The decoupling status between the DHEB and gross domestic product (GDP) is then analyzed based on the Tapio decoupling index. The results show that a weak decoupling effect is mainly found between the DHEB and GDP in the Jing-Jin-Ji urban agglomeration from 2004 to 2016. The increase in the DHEB in 2004–2016 is largely driven by the growth of the district heating area and population, while the heating energy intensity negatively contributes to the increase. Significant differences in the effects of the share of the energy mix and share of heat production technology were found between subregions in response to government policy, which impacted levels in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei in decreasing order.

Résumé :
In China, the regional development policy has been shifting from solely economic orientation to ecologically sound economic growth. Using the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (Jing-Jin-Ji) region as a case study, we evaluated the temporal variations in ecosystem service values (ESVs) associated with land use changes from 1990 to 2015. We analyzed the dynamic relations between ESVs and the economy (indicated by the gross domestic product, GDP) by introducing the elasticity indicator (EI), which reflects the growth synchronism between the two, and the ecosystem service load (ESL), which reflects the ecological efficiency of economic growth. The results showed that the land use changes in Jing-Jin-Ji have been characterized by decreases in water areas, cropland, and grassland and increases in woodland and built-up areas. The ESVs of woodland and water areas contributed to 80% of the total ESV of the region, and the total ESV increased by 13.87% as a result of an area increase in woodland (26.87%). The average EI of Jing-Jin-Ji improved from 0.028 to 0.293 over the study period, indicating that the growth of ESVs was being balanced with the growth in the GDP. The average ESL decreased by 1.24, suggesting a significant improvement in ecological efficiency per unit GDP. Within the Jing-Jin-Ji region, large disparities in EI and ESL were shown to exist among Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei owing to their differences in ecological resources, GDP compositions, and development levels. The study highlights the needs to reinforce woodland and water conservation, adjust economic structures, and balance the intraregional development to achieve the ecological-economic integrity of the region.

ABSTRACT Background: Cervical spondylopathy is a common musculo-articular disorder, multiple exercises are recommended. Chinese fitness exercises are prevalent and used to treat various diseases. Aim: To explore the efficacy of Chinese fitness exercise Yi Jin Jing exercise in intervening the cervical spondylopathy in adolescents. Patients and Methods: The study was conducted in 60 adolescent patients with cervical spondylopathy, with 30 patients in each group. Methods: The study was conducted in 60 adolescent patients with cervical spondylopathy, with 30 patients in each group. The observation group was required to take Yi Jin Jing exercise, and the control group took the brisk walking exercise. The first week was the preparatory period for the patients, and then the participants were required to do exercises three times a week for at least 30 minutes in the later 3 weeks. Before and after treatment, Neck Disability Index (NDI) scores, pain visual analog scale (VAS) scores, and cervical curvature in both groups were observed, and the incidence of adverse events in both groups was recorded during the trial. Results: The NDI and VAS scores in both groups statistically decreased after intervention and mildly increased at follow-up, while the reduction in scores of the Yi Jin Jing group was more significant. Cervical curvature in both groups improved on day 28 compared to day 0. There were no adverse reactions during the evaluation period. Conclusion: The Chinese health-care qigong Yi Jin Jing exercise is more effective than brisk walking in improving the cervical range of motion and relieving pain in adolescents with cervical spondylopathy. Résumé :
In Ying Xian Fogong Si Shijia Ta 應縣佛宮寺釋迦塔 (Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple in Ying County), Shanxi, there are statues set on each floor, and 26 exist in total, with six murals painted on the first floor. The pagoda was designed as a vertically rising Buddhist temple, and the interior space of each floor was customized for the statues. Based on previous research and through surveying and mapping of the architecture and statuary (including the murals on the first floor) combined with geometric design analysis, this paper proposes the following: First, there exists a clear geometric proportion among the interior space and statues on each floor of the pagoda. Second, clear proportional relationships also exist among the statues on each floor, and each of the 26 statues has ‘classical’ proportion rules. Third, the height of the giant Buddha statue on the first floor is the module for not only the height of the statues on each floor but also the construction of the whole pagoda such that the height of the statue on the first floor is 1/6 of the total height of the pagoda (excluding the base). And the ratio of the pagoda’s total height to the first floor’s diameter, the ratio of the total height to the top-story height under the column capital, and all the other geometric proportions are closely related to the architectural modeling. And finally, in the construction of the pagoda, statues, and murals, the scale is deduced to be 1 chi 尺 (Chinese foot) = 29.5 cm. These values give clear scale logics not only to the construction but also to the details of the statues. Accordingly, the most frequently used proportions in the architectural space, statues, and murals of the Pagoda of Fogong Temple are 2, 3:2, 5:3 (or 8:5), and 9:5, which are imbued with cultural messages, like Zhou Bi Suan Jing 周髀算經 (The Mathematical classic of the Zhou shadow-gauging instrument), Ying Zao Fa Shi 營造法式 (Treatise on Architectural Methods or State Building Standards), the ancient Chinese world view—tian yuan di fang 天圜地方 (the dome-shaped heaven and the flat, square earth) reflected from “ yuan fang tu 圓方圖 (rounded-square map)” and “fang yuan tu 方圓圖 (squared-circle map)”, ancient Chinese ideas that ”san tian liang di er yi shu 參天兩地而倚數 (‘three’ is the number of the heaven and ‘two’ is the number of the earth, and all numbers are based on them)” and “jiu wu zhi zun 九五之尊 (nine and five are the numbers of the honorable central position)”, and most probably related to the “mandala” of Esoteric Buddhism and to the Western “Golden Ratio”, which all need further research in depth.

Résumé :
Abstract The Jin X fault block in Jing qiu Oilfield, as the main oil producing area of Huabei Oilfield. At present, there are a total of 141 wells drilled in this block, and 97 wells with damaged casing have been transformed; The casing transformation of wells has led to an increase in abandoned wells in this block, resulting in serious damage to the well network. The JinX fault block has a large number of damaged wells. The number of abandoned wells in this area has increased due to casing deformation, resulting in severe damage to the well network and high degree of casing damage. Among them,71 wells have been severely damaged due to casing deformation, such as scrapping, channeling, and pipe sticking, which have affected production, accounting for 73.2%. This has seriously affected the efficiency of oilfield production in the region.Previous statistics show that most of the casing deformation sections are in the paste salt formation, and the form of casing deformation and casing damage is mainly deformation. In order to investigate the mechanism of casing damage in the casing section, this paper establishes the creep equation of the casing layer in JinX block by conducting microstructure analysis of the casing layer and creep experiments in the casing layer, and then establishes a creep calculation model by using 3D numerical simulation technology, combining geological structure and well type conditions. The creep calculation model is then used to analyze the creep pattern under different conditions through simulation calculations, thus providing a reference for formulating effective casing loss prevention and control measures for the Jin X fault block.

Résumé :
This paper discusses the development of ideas of the ultimate in the thought of Chinese Buddhism in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The concept of ultimate truth is, along with that of conventional truth, a core concept in Mahāyāna Buddhism. During the Sui Dynasty, Chinese Buddhism developed the unique perspective of the Three Truths, the foundation for which was formed during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. This begins with Jie jie Jing 解節經 (in full, Foshuo Jiejie Jing 佛說解節經) by Paramārtha (499–569), which is a partial translation of Saṃdhinirmocanasūtra and presents the theory of ultimate truth (paramārtha) to Chinese Buddhists. Through a comparison of Jiejie Jing with other Chinese and Tibetan translations of Saṃdhinirmocana-sūtra, we establish Paramārtha’s thoughts on the ultimate. The relationship between Paramārtha’s thought on the ultimate and the development of the Three Truths is evaluated in a comparison of Paramārtha’s thoughts on ultimate truth with the thinking of nearly contemporary Chinese monks.

Résumé :
With the past rapid economic development and large population growth, Jing-Jin-Ji District has been undergoing rapid urbanization, which has caused considerable regional weather changes in local regions. In this paper, we used the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model to quantitatively analyze the effects of past urbanization and potential future urbanization on the regional weather in the center of Jing-Jin-Ji District. The hydrometeorological data from two weeks in July 2019 were used to simulate the influence of urbanization on local weather in the Jing-Jin-Ji District at regional scales using a single-layer canopy parameterization scheme. To better quantify the differences in temperature and precipitation induced by urbanization, three simulation scenarios were designed, which were no urban cover (NU), current urbanization cover (CU), and full urban land cover (FU), respectively. The results showed that: (1) Urbanization progress (from NU to CU and from CU to FU) in Jing-Jin-Ji District increased the daytime temperature, night temperature, and temperature difference between day and night, while decreasing the total rainfall and peak rainfall. (2) Compared with NU, the mean temperature of the CU and FU increased 0.3 K and 0.6 K, respectively, and the mean precipitation of CU and FU decreased by approximately 6% and 8.4%, respectively. (3) The main influence of urbanization on weather was reflected by the maximum temperature and peak rainfall, while the other impacts were relatively insignificant. (4) Compared with NU, the maximum temperature of CU and FU increased 0.82 K and 1.35 K, respectively, and the peak rainfall of NU and FU decreased by approximately 9.5% and 19.0%, respectively; The results of this study bring to light the urban management strategies for policy makers.

Résumé :
Abstract. In the 2015 winter month of December, northern China witnessed the most severe air pollution phenomena since the 2013 winter haze events occurred. This triggered the first-ever red alert in the air pollution control history of Beijing, with an instantaneous fine particulate matter (PM2. 5) concentration over 1 mg m−3. Air quality observations reveal large temporal–spatial variations in PM2. 5 concentrations over the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (Jing-Jin-Ji) area between 2014 and 2015. Compared to 2014, the PM2. 5 concentrations over the area decreased significantly in all months except November and December of 2015, with an increase of 36 % in December. Analysis shows that the PM2. 5 concentrations are significantly correlated with the local meteorological parameters in the Jing-Jin-Ji area such as the stable conditions, relative humidity (RH), and wind field. A comparison of two month simulations (December 2014 and 2015) with the same emission data was performed to explore and quantify the meteorological impacts on the PM2. 5 over the Jing-Jin-Ji area. Observation and modeling results show that the worsening meteorological conditions are the main reasons behind this unusual increase of air pollutant concentrations and that the emission control measures taken during this period of time have contributed to mitigate the air pollution ( ∼ 9 %) in the region. This work provides a scientific insight into the emission control measures vs. the meteorology impacts for the period.

The cognitive bases of psychosomatic transformations of masters of "Internal Schools" Wushu are stretched in a range from archaic elements of classical Chinese philosophy and culture to ability of the person in the course of meditation to increase brain potential, developing it functional and any way transforming some of its departments. Such a wide range is explained both by the general purpose dàojiào – achievement of Personal Immortality of a Man, and by the specificity of "Internal Schools" Wushu, that incorporated the Buddhist Qigong systems Yi Jin Jing and Xi Sui Jing into Taoist practice.
