In this paper, authors analyzed the semi-rigid road base asphalt pavement of towns and studied the optimum design methods of it, combining characteristics of town roads, considering natural conditions, vehicle axle,materialsupply,construction techniques, maintenance, transportation and so on, referring to design experiences of asphalt pavement in Tian Jin area, through indoor and outdoor experiments, applying math methods. This paper adopts the unique perspective of Confucian aesthetic principles to investigate their profound impact on the interrelationship between “Ren” (benevolence) and spatial design in classical Chinese architecture. Drawing upon core Confucian concepts such as “Ren”, “Tian Ren He Yi” (the unity of man and nature), and “Jin Shan Jin Mei” (the pursuit of perfection), the study meticulously analyzes specific instances of classical architectural layouts and spatial designs, providing a detailed exposition of the manifestation of “Ren”. Subsequently, it elucidates how Confucian aesthetic principles influence classical architecture by inheriting and developing the spirit of benevolence and adeptly applying an aesthetic consciousness of the unity of space and time. Simultaneously, the paper distinctly presents the profound insights of Confucian aesthetic principles on contemporary spatial design and societal development. This influence extends beyond the formal and structural aspects of architecture, permeating deeply into the cultural connotations embedded in architecture. It injects distinctive and valuable design wisdom into contemporary society, contributing not only to the comprehension of the cultural value of ancient architecture but also furnishing a novel framework for contemporary spatial design. In doing so, it offers concrete and far-reaching guidance for the construction of a harmonious society.

We report the continuous argon ions irradiation of itinerant Fe3GeTe2, a two-dimensional ferromagnetic metal, with the modification to its transport properties measured in situ. Our results show that defects generated by argon ions irradiation can significantly weaken the magnetization (M) and coercive field (Hc) of Fe3GeTe2, demonstrating the tunable magnetism of this material. Specifically, at base temperature, we observed a reduction of M and Hc by up to 40% and 62.4%, respectively. After separating the contribution from different mechanisms based on the Tian-Ye-Jin (TYJ) scaling relation, it’s the skew scattering that dominates the contribution to anomalous Hall effect in argon ions irradiated Fe3GeTe2. These findings highlight the potential of in situ transport modification as an effective method for tailoring the magnetic properties of two-dimensional magnetic materials, and provides new insights into the mechanisms underlying the tunable magnetism in Fe3GeTe2.

The study aims to identify the influence of V. Mayakovsky’s satire on Chinese drama. The paper examines the works of Chinese authors created under the influence of V. Mayakovsky’s satirical play “The Bedbug”. In Tian Han’s play “The Ballad of the Ming Tombs Reservoir” and in Jin Shan’s eponymous film, the idea of moving into the future determines the plot and the compositional structure. Meng Jinghui’s drama “The Bedbug” (the 2000, 2013 and 2017 productions) repeats the main plot of V. Mayakovsky’s play and retains many lines from the original work. This is the first staging of Mayakovsky’s play in China. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that Mayakovsky’s influence on Chinese drama is for the first time being considered from the cultural and historical perspective and reflects the dynamics of perception of Mayakovsky’s satire in China starting with a romantic-utopian view, associated with the concept of the “Great Leap Forward” (Tian Han), to a postmodern view (Meng Jinghui). The study of the Chinese-language material on the reception of Mayakovsky’s satire, which remains unexplored in Russia, will make it possible to expand the understanding of the attitude to the creative work of the Russian futurist poet and playwright abroad not only among literary scholars, but also the reading public. The study found that the satirical comedy by the Russian poet of the turn of the 19th-20th centuries in the deconstructed versions reflects the problems of the formation of Chinese society in the 20th-21st centuries.

To accurately describe the deformation characteristics of clay under long-term cyclic load, based on fractional calculus theory, elastoplastic theory and the basic element model, a variable-order fractional dynamic model designed to predict accumulative strain of clay was exhibited. Firstly, the cyclic load was separated into static and alternating load in accordance with cyclic load characteristics, and the strain of clay under static and alternating load was analyzed. Then, on the basis of the variable-order Abel dashpot model, rheological theory and elastoplastic theory, the expressions of the rheological constitutive model and strain response were both obtained. Finally, in combination with the undrained dynamic triaxial testing of Zhan Jiang clay and Tian Jin soft clay, a series of analyses was carried out on the effectiveness and parameter sensitivity of the model when subjected to long-term cyclic loading. By comparing the dynamic constitutive model with pre-existing models, the superiority of the dynamic constitutive model is revealed. The results show that the dynamic constitutive model can characterize properly the deformation characteristics of clay under the action of long-term cyclic loading, especially in its accelerating stage. The parameter sensitivity of the model exhibits a growing trend with the increment of loading duration.

Oracle-bone scholars have long uniformly read the charges (i.e., the portion that mentions the event being divined) of Shang oracle-bone inscriptions as questions. Since the 1970's, many foreign oracle-bone scholars have proposed a new view that the charges are never questions, or at least are generally not questions. Whether or not the charges are actually questions is a very important question bearing not only on oracle bone studies, but also on research on ancient divination and on ancient Chinese grammar. Based on an examination of a great number of Shang oracle-bone inscriptions, the author of this essay believes that charges that can now be determined to be questions are mainly those choice-type charges in early inscriptions that contain the final particles yi and zhi, and true-or-false type charges that contain yi. Charges of the type “V bu V” (such as “rain not rain” [yu bu yu]) and “V bu,” regarded by many as choice-type questions, are actually comprised of the charge and a verification or use notation, the “bu V” being a verification and the “bu” being either a verification or a use notation (similar to the notation bu yong, “do not use”). Charges that can now be determined not to be questions are mainly in those inscriptions with complex charges, such as “this *spring the king ought not ally with Wang Cheng to attack Xia Wei, (for if he does) he will not receive divine assistance” (jin ?chun wang wu bi Wang Cheng fa Xia? Wei, fu qi shou you you, and “On ren we ought not hunt, (for if we do) it will rain” (ren wu tian, qi yu), the syntax of which shows that they cannot be questions.

The first one got a seat by squeezing in beside an ample woman who lifted her child to her lap. His luck pleased him and he started agitating, “You’ll grow tall standin’. Little man like you is.” The big fellow looked hard at the back of the conductor’s head. The conduc-tor was busy rustling papers, obviously getting ready to check out at Monroe.

China developed the notion of life as a sustaining power of living beings, but in contrast to India, did not pursue the idea of transcendence as its source. In contrast to any Gnostic view of flight to a higher reality that we find in India or Greece, China throughout its history has maintained a positive evaluation of life, placing human life within a cosmos. In particular, pre-modern Chinese civilization emphasized harmony in the relationship between heaven (tian), earth (di), and humanity (jen): there should be a ‘unity of heaven and humanity’. Heaven is the source of all things and generally, with some philosophical exceptions, humanity is thought to be perfectible. There is a continuity between the political and natural orders that the chapter examines.

Abstract On 2 September 1948, at the end of a three-week visit to Japan, Chang Jun, a former prime minister of the Republic of China, made an appeal to the Japanese public.1 He welcomed the fact that Japan was following the GHQ’s directives to establish a new order based on democratic principles. However Chang Jun warned that ‘while it is a simple task to bring about revolutionary changes to tangible systems and laws, intangible morals and psyches are not easily altered’. He concluded that ‘Japan needs to undergo an moral revolu¬ tion (shiso kakumei) and to build a new national psyche’. Chang Jun urged the Japanese public to reflect deeply on the mistakes of the pre-war period and the results of those mistakes while bringing about moral and psychological changes to the nation.

“Depend on Heaven for food” (kao tian chi fan, 靠天吃飯) is a well-known Chinese proverb. The presumed author of this expression was Wen Kang (文康), his novel Legend of Heroes and Heroines (儿女英雄傳) Ernü Yingxiong Zhuan first published in late 1870s became very popular. The expression “depend on Heaven for food” is from the 33rd chapter of the novel. Yet, the image under the title Picture Depend on Heaven for Food (kao tian chi fan tu, 靠天吃飯圖) appeared earlier than novel: two stone steles dated 1813 with the same picture, but different commentary text. In the academician Vasyli M. Alekseev’s collection of Chinese popular prints nianhua there are several engravings on this subject, the explanations for which are in the notebooks of the Chinese xiansheng mentors V. M. Alekseev to his collections of folk art (St. Petersburg Branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences, fund 820, inv. 1, files 473, 479a). And finally we can compare xiansheng comments to (kao tian chi fan tu, 靠天吃飯圖) with the essay on the same subject by Lu Xun in his Qie Jie Ting Essay Collection (雜文集: 且介亭雜文二 集, 1935).

ABSTRACT Carbonate reservoirs are very important for the petroleum industry. Acid stimulation is one of the practical techniques for effective development of carbonate reserves. This study is motivated to study the effect of the geomechanical process on the acid stimulation process. In this work, an improved two-scale continuum model describing the mass, momentum, and energy change is used to investigate the acid stimulation process coupling the geomechanical process. Results show that a typical acid stimulation curve of acid consumption volume can also be observed with gemechanical process, in which acid consumption volume obtains a minimum value with a certain acid injection rate. When the acid injection rate changes from this optimum acid injection rate, more acid solution is consumed for achieving a breakthrough. But as for the comparison of the acid consumption volume with and without geomechanical process, no obvious difference is found. Introduction the geomechanical process has little influence on the acid stimulation process. INTRODUCTION Carbonate reservoirs are important in the oil industry as they contain more than 60% of conventional oil reserves and 40% of gas reserves (Jia et al. 2021a). Carbonate rocks are composed of at least 50% carbonate minerals, usually calcite and dolomite. These rocks provide challenging characteristics such as strong heterogeneity and double porosity, which are a result of the formation process. During oil and gas production, particles eroded from the reservoir accumulate near the wellbore region and consequently reduce permeability (Jia et al. 2015, Tian et al. 2018, Tian et al. 2021, Li et al. 2022, Li et al. 2023a, Li et al. 2023b). Acid stimulation is a common technique to increase permeability near the wellbore by injecting acid (usually HCl) to dissolve and create conductive channels called wormholes (Jia et al. 2021c). These wormholes provide high permeability channels that bypass the damaged zone near the wellbore.

Memoirs of participants in hostilities – a popular genre of Slavic memoirs of 17–18th centures, which include, in particular, the Polish „Pamiętniki” of Jan Chrysostom Pasek.

The mechanical properties of TiN films deposited on carbon steel JIS S45C by reactive dc magnetron sputtering under three sputtering gas pressures, 0.5Pa, 0.8Pa, and 1.76Pa were investigated. The residual stress once increased and then decreased with increasing bias voltage at 0.5Pa and 0.8Pa, but increased monotonously at 1.76Pa. These variations could be explained by the variations of the bombarding energy of a sputtered ion at each gas pressure. The variations of hardness and toughness correlated with the variation of residual stress. The variation of adhesive strength also could be explained by the variation of the bombarding energy with a model proposed in this study. A specific wear rate was also investigated, and it was found that to increase not only the hardness but also the adhesive strength is necessary to improve the wear resistance of TiN films.

The long-term creep rupture strength has been investigated for 9 heats of JIS SUS 304HTB (18Cr-8Ni) and for 9 heats of JIS SUS 316HTB (18Cr-12Ni-Mo) steels at 600 to 750 °C, using data in NIMS Creep Data Sheets. The heats with high Al exhibit the significant degradation in creep strength at long times. The formation of AlN and TiN during creep reduces the beneficial effect due to nitrogen. The heat-to-heat variation in time to rupture is analyzed using available nitrogen concentration Nav, which is defined as the concentration of nitrogen free from AlN and TiN, and also using nitrogen to soluble Al ratio (N/sol Al). The Nav clearly explains the observed heat-to-heat variation in time to rupture of 304HTB and 316HTB at long times. The precipitation hardening due to fine NbC carbides and the effect of small amount of Cu cause additional heat-to-heat variation in time to rupture for 304HTB at short times and for 316HTB at long times, respectively. The restriction of soluble Al concentration is proposed to be below 0.038 and 0.033 mass % for 304HTB and 316HTB, respectively, so that the creep rupture strength of 304HTB and 316HTB is larger than the ASME Sec.III-NH values for up to 300,000 h at 650 to 700 °C. At long times above 300,000 h, such as 500,000 h, the concentration of soluble Al should be further lowered.
