Résumé :
AbstractThe analysis of landslide processes and consequent damages constitutes an important aspect in risk assessment. The potential reach zones of a landslide can be estimated by analyzing the behavior of past events under particular geological, geomorphological, and climatic conditions. Although landslide risk models have been developed for temperate zones, little information is available for tropical countries, so empirical equations are used without validation. In this study, a dataset comprising characteristic parameters for 123 landslides from the Andean region of Colombia was compiled from the digital inventory of the Colombian Geological Survey Mass Movement Information System (SIMMA). Empirical landslide travel-distance models were developed using simple and multiple regression techniques. The results revealed that the volume of the displaced mass, the slope angle, the maximum landslide height, and geomorphological environment were the predominant factors controlling the landslides travel distances in the study area. Similarly, a strong correlation was found between the planimetric area and landslide volume, validating the model of Iverson et al. (1998) (Iverson et al., in Geol Soc Am Bull 110:972–984, 1998). The proposed models show a reasonable fit between the observed and predicted values, and exhibited higher prediction capacity than other models in the literature. An example of application of the prediction equations developed here illustrates the procedure to delineate landslide hazard zones for different exceedance probabilities.

Bacon, Robert. « Optimised Tripping and Drilling Performance Through Drilling Control System Automation to Control Axial Velocity ». Dans International Petroleum Technology Conference. IPTC, 2023. http://dx.doi.org/10.2523/iptc-22969-ms.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
Abstract Objective and Scope The purpose of this paper is to document an ongoing project called "Dual - velocity tubular running" which is being used to optimize the drill-string and casing running speeds, with the view to trip as efficiently and quickly as the rig and geo pressure limitations allow but doing so in a safe manner that prevents nonproductive time, both visible and invisible, and always retains the wells integrity and allows safe operations. Dual speed refers to the ability to target an initial speed to safely break the mud gels, and a second tripping speed permissible once those same gels are broken, and this is illustrated in Figure 1. This ‘dual speed’ optimization approach can be achieved by a more advanced use of mud gel-break and rheology data and a new auto sequence for stepwise axial velocity control. This project is a step change in targeting an autonomous and optimized drilling process, and the impressive results that can be achieved can be seen in figure 2 above. As many authors have noted, such as Cayeux E., E. W. Dvergsnes, F. P. Iversen 2009 there are many factors that contribute to nonproductive time, which include Lost circulation, formation influx, pack-offs and other stuck pipe events which cause delays, problems, lost time, and generally increase risk, and cost of the well, during drilling operations. Each of these has the potential to escalate into serious problems that can result in undesirable technical sidetracks. Couple this with ever more complex wells, (whether they be long horizontal sections, multi-laterals, etc.), and ensuring operations are done safely and efficiently is paramount. Furthermore, the traditional metrics of time and cost, are now further modified by the requirements to reduce the carbon footprint of operations. Anything which allows the well operations to be completed more quickly reduces the carbon footprint of the operation. The solution and concept presented in this paper showcases a modelling approach which allows all these situations to be accurately modelled in a transient setting, to optimize tubular running speeds – be that drill pipe, casing, liners, expandable liners, sand screens or any tubular string run in hole, and then also compared and back modelled using all the available real time high frequency data. This coupled with an automated drilling control system has resulted in safe, record-breaking drilling achievements in the North Sea. The models allow updated safeguards to be applied to the drilling control system to maintain a downhole pressure within the acceptable limits of the open hole formations. It also automatically stops the movement of the drill string in case of abnormal hook loads or surface torques. Since automatic actions can be triggered in case of an unexpected situation, some standard procedures have been fully automated, including friction tests and back-reaming. In prior papers such as Cayeux E., B. Daireaux, E. W. Dvergsnes, 2010," Automation of Mud-Pump Management : Application to Drilling Operations in the North Sea , the peak surge seen when pipe is first moved and gels are ‘broken’ has been used as the limit for safe tripping, however that precluded further optimization that exists once gels are broken, and pipe and fluid is in motion. This optimization process will be discussed in detail in this paper.

Résumé :
This article provides information on the distribution of trematodosis in cattle and small cattle, as well as the European red deer in the Kaliningrad region. A complex of therapeutic and prophylactic veterinary anthelmintic measures is described. The characteristics of domestic anthelmintics used to combat faststoliasis, dicroceliasis and paramphistomatosis are given. Their shortcomings and effectiveness are noted, modern approaches are proposed in the fight against trematodosis in ruminants through the use of new drugs: Fascocid, Iversan, Monizen, Helmicid, which allows for effective therapy and prevention of invasive diseases, avoiding losses of livestock products and increasing milk, meat and antler productivity of ruminants.

Résumé :
Gastrointestinal Strongylata are the most common among all helminths of sheep, the invasion prevalence of which often reaches 90% or more. They cause significant economic damage. Our research purpose is to study the epizootic situation on gastrointestinal strongylatosis in IE Altyn, the Aktobe Region, and to determine the anthelmintic efficacy, in a comparative aspect, of various drugs from different classes of chemical compounds against gastrointestinal strongylatosis of sheep. The invasive rate in animals was determined by the Fulleborn method. The number of helminth eggs was calculated in 1 gram of faeces using a VIGIS camera. The gastrointestinal Strongylata genus in sheep was identified based on the morphological structure of infective larvae after being cultivated according to P. F. Polyakov. The anthelmintic efficacy was determined by a standardized method of the "control test" type. The sheep in IE Altyn were infected with five genera of gastrointestinal strongylates: Nematodirus spр., Ostertagia spр., Cooperia spр., Haemonchus spр., and Trichostrongylus spр. The prevalence in the sheep of gastrointestinal strongylates was 87.7% in average in IE Altyn, and the invasion intensity was 54.3±4.6 eggs/g. The anthelmintic efficacy of Alvet-suspension at a dose of 5 mg/kg, ivermek, 0.2 mg/kg, and levamisole, 7.5 mg/kg, was determined by the AS against strongylatosis of the digestive tract of sheep. Ivermek showed the greatest efficiency.

Résumé :
To develop screening methods and identify nematocidal effects of anthelmintics in vitro, we used the methodology we developed [2]. Our purpose was to find nematocidal properties among well-known pesticides: anthelmintics, acaricides, insecticides, molluscicides, and drugs used in plant protection, veterinary medicine and in medicine. In case nematocidal properties are detected, they can be used in practice to control phytohelminths. In our research, this is a selection to detect nematocidal substances for screening objects. The screening objects are nematodes of different ecological groups, namely Caenorhabditis elegans, Turbatrix aceti, and Ditylenchus destructor. The nematicidity assessment was carried out by comparison with the control and reference options. As a result of the studies, references were determined for in vitro screening methods for nematocidal activity of anthelmintics. Phytoverm, CE (Aversectin C (2g/L)) was taken as a reference. Nematode mortality was determined by the Schneider-Orelli’s formula. Of the tested anthelmintics, nematocidal effect was detected in Albendazole, Decaris, Vermox, Levamisole, Tetramisole, and Iversan. The result of the studies for nematicidity of pesticides and anthelmintics found that the in vitro screening method developed by us was effective in identifying substances with nematocidal properties.

Résumé :
Neuropsychological functioning after mTBI is individualized and dynamic, with no currently known predictors and usually having a trajectory of gradual improvement. It is still a challenge to identify specific cognitive profiles associated with mTBI. One of the causes is the transient character of TBI symptoms as they are not appearing immediately after the injury. Another explanation resides in the individual and group variability of cognitive impairements following mTBI, which also affects the standardisation of the neuropsychological tests to use in mTBI assessment batteries (Iverson et al., 2013; Prince & Bruhns, 2017; Tulsky et al., 2017). Presently concussion has no accepted definition or diagnostic criteria. Also, there is no standard (or gold standard) for screening or properly identifying and diagnosing all population with concussion. (Borg et al., 2004). Patients with mTBI could evolve in a bunch of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms (Permenter et al., 2021) that are usually known as post-concussion syndrome (PCS). In terms of symptoms, we target neuropsychological evaluation of four key domains (“higher-order attention”, “executive function”, “episodic memory”, and “speed of information processing”) implicated in chronic impairment after mTBI. Alternatively, studies on the EEG frequency domain shed new light on the possibility to have a diagnostic marker based on QEEG patterns identified in the mTBI population and some prognostic factors for the PCS syndrome.(Rapp et al., 2015; Thornton & Carmody, 2009). Given the particularities of neuropsychological functioning after mTBI we emphasize the need of a mixed methodology, using both electrophysiological and psychoneurological tools, to provide the best sensitivity and specificity in assessing cognitive and functional deficits and in predicting further PCS.

Résumé :
For almost a decade, there has been a grassroots movement in the country that adopts placemaking in kampungs (Indonesian urban informal settlements) through cultural and contemporary art festivals. The common issues that have been faced by almost every kampung are to maintain their existence in the city where they tend to be excluded, marginalized, and demolished. Placemaking has been held with the hopes of improving the aesthetic appeal of the kampungs, creating new opportunities for the residents to develop creative output relevant to their neighborhood and communities’ specialties, and strengthening the local identity to protect kampungs from the demolishment threat (Kustiawan et al. 2015; Lieshout 2014; Prasetyo and Iverson 2013). Although many pieces of research from a different part of the world have shown that "temporal" place-making through cultural and art festivals provides many social benefits to the individual and their communities, it seems to be unclear from the global South context. Consequently, uncertainties exist whether place-making brings positive impacts on social aspects of residents in the context of developing countries, particularly those who live in problematic areas such as urban informal settlement dwellers. It is indeed an area that has been little explored in the place-making literature (Lew 2017). Therefore, this study will contribute to understanding the implications of place-making towards the public life of informal settlers, particularly in Indonesia. The main purpose of this study was to examine the impacts of place-making on the local capacity in Indonesian kampung. The research was carried out using a sequential mixedmethods in Bustaman, Semarang. Results from multiple regression analysis showed that placemaking through regular "everyday life" and temporal "festivals" have significantly influenced local empowerment. While the qualitative findings further explained that place-making can promote local empowerment by encouraging youth's participation, increasing the organizational and mobilizational capacity of the local community, providing knowledge exchange, and broadening local community’s perspectives about their place and community. This study also demonstrated that different types of place-making bring a different kind of impact towards particular socio-economic groups. Therefore, to achieve a better quality of place-making, the enhancement of relational resources between different age group is necessary. Finally, these findings raise important questions and suggestions for incorporating place-making into neighborhood planning efforts.

Résumé :
ABSTRACT Water as pore fluid is an important factor that influence rock deformation and failure behaviour. This paper presents an experimental study on the effects of water saturation on the failure behaviour of mudstones at high confining pressures. Triaxial compression experiments were performed at confining pressures up to 130 MPa, on dry and water-saturated mudstone samples. Results including stress-strain curves, failure strength, and failure modes, showed that the mudstones experienced brittle, brittle-ductile transition, and ductile failure behaviour as the confining pressure increases. The results also revealed that water significantly weakened the rock, thereby reducing the failure strength and causing the rock to become ductile at lower confining pressure compare to dry conditions. Furthermore, in water-saturated conditions, the brittle-ductile transition behaviour is accompanied by shear band fractures and ductile flow, as opposed to shear fractures to shear band fractures in dry conditions. The findings of this study could provide valuable information for optimizing hydraulic fracturing techniques and improving production efficiency in unconventional oil and gas reservoirs by identifying the conditions and depths of the transition from brittle to ductile failure behavior. INTRODUCTION Crustal rocks typically contain some form of pore fluid, and most of these fluids are water (Price, 1975). Understanding how pore fluids affect the mechanical properties of rocks is crucial in solving a range of problems in geotechnical and geological applications. For example, water's significant impact on the strength and deformability of rocks has been linked to many rock engineering hazards like landslides (Iverson, 2000). Water has been shown in numerous studies to weaken the mechanical strength of various types of rock, including mudstone, sandstone, granitic rocks, and quartzite. (Cai et al., 2019; Lu et al., 2017; Wasantha and Ranjith, 2014). When rocks are saturated with water, they become weaker and more prone to failure. This is because water can act as a lubricant between the individual particles, reducing the frictional forces that hold the particles together. As a result, the rock may experience reduced strength, stiffness, and cohesion, as well as an increased risk of creep, plastic deformation, and failure rates (Brantut et al., 2013; Chen et al., 2019; Wong et al., 2016).
