Texte intégralIn Micro Optical Electromechanical Systems (MOEMs), functional integration paves the way for miniaturized systems, an increase in the functionality of current optic systems and the emergence of new systems. This integration relies on the design and development of collective, low cost technological processes using microelectronics on silicon. This work consists in miniaturizing a long range and nanometer resolved displacement sensor based on diffractive and interferometric phenomena. First, the interest and feasibility of integration of optic and electronic functions on silicon platform, using conventional CMOS technology is discussed. In the second part, an ultimate level of integration, based on original principle of interferometric detection, is proposed. First, the compatibility of standard CMOS technology with the sensor specifications is demonstrated, in particular in the photodetection domain. Then, we present the study of optoASICs including photodiodes and signal processing. Support card design, the component transfer onto this card and integration of the whole assembly into a compact and functional package are described and a prototype is fabricated

Texte intégralAn analysis of the design methods of energy autonomous microrobots carried out during this thesis highlights the fact that these methods may not be optimal, and that the performance of these microrobots could be improved through a co-design of their energy source and their motion system. This thesis work therefore addressed the following question : « Is there an advantage to using fine models for the design of a microrobot, and in particular for co-design of its battery and its displacement system? ». To answer this question, we have studied an on-board power supplied microrobot for which it is possible to size the battery, of lithium-ion chemistry and coin cell format, and the displacement system, based on the impact-drive inertial principle implemented around an electromagnetic actuator. The study of the co-design of these two components has been carried out using their coupled fine models, which have been validated experimentally during the thesis. We have shown, using these coupled models, that the optimal sizing of the whole system does not correspond to the sum of the optimal sizings of the individual components, but to a compromise difficult or impossible to determine without these coupled models, because of the cross-interactions of the effects of the design parameters. The microrobot studied during thisthesis has thus demonstrated the interest of the method used, which could be used on other microsystems, depending on their characteristics

Texte intégralThis dissertation's purpose is to give an idea, a glimpse of how the future urban storm drainage software look like, insisting on the integration of "pockets" of knowledge or expertise inside. This knowledge helps the designer who uses the software to carry successfully his plans through. So, we will answer to the following questions : - Why a new generation of technical software for urban storm drainage? - What will this new software look like? - What will its functions be? - Which knowledge must be introduced and how? After that, we will concert ourself with two of theses "pockets' and then we will present the two corresponding prototypes in order to verify the feasibility and the pertinence of this kind of tools. These two pockets will be: - a help guiding the user in handling of the software, a goal having been defined; - a help for the choice of hydraulic and hydrological models which advises of models and theirs parameters values to use during networks simulations

Texte intégralIn industrial processes including agro and bioprocess, fouling is considered to be a complex and misunderstood phenomenon. Unit operations (including heat, mass and momentum transfers) are carried out in continuous, batch or fed-batch processes. During these operations, the products may evolve (chemical and biochemical reactions, microorganisms growth and activity, etc.) and fouling may occur with a wide range of kinetics from minutes up to years and dimensions from micrometers up to centimeters. Research issued from INRA led to develop a fouling sensor based on local differential thermal analysis and to patent this system. The device enables on-line and continuous monitoring of fouling propensity. Neosens company acquired an exclusive licence and develop and commercialize the sensor whose operating limits are known. In this work, our scientific and technological objectives are to break new locks through: (i) the realization of a fouling sensor based on microsystems technologies, (ii) the investigation and validation of an alternative thermal working mode and a method for fouling monitoring. Based on the previous work, our research deals with conception, realisation and integration of components based on microsystems technologies, integration of permanent and periodic thermal regimes with on-line data treatment and experimental validation at laboratory, pilot-plant and industrial scales for new geometries and configurations. This work led to metrology improvement and reliability. The resulting microsensor seems to be a complement of previous sensor regarding detection and quantification limits

Texte intégralThis thesis is about teaching French as a foreign language. Our objective is to analyze the utilization of information and communication technologies (ICT) according to a systematic perspective while teaching French as a foreign language in the Jordanian context. We analyze the representations, attitudes and practice on several levels in order to understand the contribution and/or the limits of the new methods in teaching / learning French language. Our research reflects three major dimensions : the engineering dimension, the ideological dimension and the didactic dimension for the purpose of categorizing the learning systems that integrate the digital resources. This research presents an educational approach about the practices and the suggestions that enable the process of the systematic action in order to utilize new methods in a language teaching lesson through training teachers about how to conduct the integration of ICT in a teaching lesson

Texte intégralIn the framework of question-answering systems on the Web, our main goals are to model, develop and evaluate a system which can, from a question in natural language, search for relevant answers on the Web and generate a synthetic answer, even if the search engine selected several candidate answers. We focused on temporal and numerical questions. Our system deals with : - the integration of data from candidate answers by using a knowledge base and knowledge extracted from the Web. This component allows the detection of data inconsistencies and deals with user expectations in order to produce a relevant answer, - the generation of synthetic answers in natural language which are relevant w. R. T users. Indeed, generated answers have to be short, understandable and have to express the cooperative know-how which has been used to solve data inconsistencies. We also propose evaluation methods to evaluate our system from a technical and cognitive point of view

Texte intégralSoftware testing plays a significant role in minimizing software development costs. One of the most important trends for this goal is the use of MBT (Model-Based Testing). MBT consists on automatically generating validation tests from a personalized model describing certain functional aspects of the system under test (SUT). However, a dedicated test model must be created. This process is time and labor consuming and therefore not widely used in the industry. In our work, we present a methodology to facilitate the use of MBT in companies by using project artifacts to automatically create a test model based on the use of SUT (what we call a usage model). In our work, we focus on transforming UML sequence diagrams into a test model. This transformation will be done on the basis of the notion of context, which is the history of previous events on the SUT in order to factorize and obtain a valid usage model. This notion is very important when two events are managed differently by the SUT according to all of the previous inputs of this SUT. An academic case study modeling an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) is presented to describe the need and the associated problems. Then, our methodology is implemented to meet some requirements of the French project Clarity

Texte intégralThe need for new liver support devices is clearly felt to allow keeping alive patients waiting for a transplant. Treatments, based on the use of cells cultured in an adequate environment, may even allow the recovery of some patients suffering from acute liver failure and avoid graft and associated immunosuppressive therapies. A hepatic substitution could also be used to reestablish patients recently transplanted or who had underwent an hepatectomy.. The objective of the thesis was to design, create and validate of a new bioartificial liver with consideration for the regulatory requirements of the Advanced Therapies Medical Product (ATMP). This device has to include fluidized bed bioreactors perfused with plasma and hosting alginate-encapsulated hepatocytes spheroids. Microparticles of glass have been added to weight down alginate beads in order to have an optimal fluidization in pathological plasma without negative effects neither on cells metabolism nor on mechanical properties of the beads. A cellular culture method using non adhesive coating in Petri dish led to the production of a large amount of viable spheroids in vitro. These encapsulated spheroids can be kept alive and metabolically active in a fluidized bed bioreactor during a minimum of four days. To ensure the efficacy of the BAL and the safety of patients, a complex extracorporeal circulation was designed to be compatible with a commercial medical device, the Prismaflex® monitor of the company Gambro, already used in intensive care units. A preclinical study on sheeps has shown that the treatment was well tolerated in terms of hemodynamics considerations. The next step is the establishment of a study in a porcine model of liver failure, before we can proceed to the first clinical trial

Texte intégralThis doctoral research project aims at designing a lithium ion (Li-ion) secondary battery for the autonomous lighting products of the company Novéa Énergies. Nowadays, lead-acid batteries are still mainly used in this kind of systems. However, frequent replacements of the energy storage system are needed due to the limited shelf life of this technology. Thanks to its long lifespan, low cost and enhanced security, Li-ion LFP batteries are studied in this work in order to replace the existing lead-acid storage system. Stress tests conducted on Li-ion LFPcells show the adequacy of this technology with the studied application. Accelerated aging tests also show a clear advantage of this technology compared to valve regulated lead-acid batteries. In order to retain the flexibility of the lead-acid solution, a modular energy storage system built from several Li-ion batteries is studied. However Li-ion batteries need an electronic battery management system (BMS) close to their cells to ensure reliable and safe operation. In order to enable a communication between the various BMS and the main application controller, a new communication system compatible with the CAN protocol and using power line communication over the DC power bus is developed. A prototype is built and allows useful data rates up to 97 kbits/s. This doctoral project was ruled by a contract issued by the CEA, a French government-funded technological research organization. It was conducted under the supervision of the IETR laboratory and in partnership with the company Novéa Énergies

Texte intégralWork presented enters within the framework of the design of mechanical systems and more particularly within the framework of the taking into account of knowledge "trades" in design. Work consisted in analyzing the data and the knowledge of design and machining. On the basis of the technological choices of solutions carried out by the designer, we tried to justify a maximum of the product data by "knowledge". Within this framework, we set up the concepts of QFS and QFR to integrate part of knowledge. We also described a method of design applicable to the bearing assemblies. This one allows to help the designer at the time of the choice of the axial thrusts and of the chains of dimensions. We finally set up functions to bind parameters of the tolerance range, of dimensional quality and roughness in this integration context

Texte intégralBy comparing the labour migration policies in France and Switzerland, the question is how these two countries arrive at a compromise between a liberalism towards more exchange and a legal system aiming at reducing this opening. This comparative study covers the immigration policies in France and Switzerland since World War II up to the latest laws. By starting with the reasons for emigration of migrant workers we must interest ourselves in the dealings with immigration of foreign labour in the host societies through the work permit, resident permit and more generally speaking the "categorisation" of foreigners. The evolution of the characteristics of the migrant workers is also analysed in order to distinguish bettween the different "generations" of migrant workers as well as their integration into the world of work. The issue of integration is treated through a certain number of indicators regarding the workers ans their families : schooling of children, accomodation, social and civic rights; but also through the analysis of the Host Country. Finally, the impact of the communitarisation of the migratory policies is developed in order to display the possibilities for each country to define the persons authorised to enter their territories in a context of globalisation, according to their respective needs

Texte intégralThe prime objective of this doctoral work is to assist geographically neighboring industries to evolve towards becoming an eco-industrial park (EIP). Indeed, circular economy, which is regenerative by design as opposed to the prevailing extractive linear model, is gaining momentum as an answer for migrating towards a sustainable paradigm. Many literature studies were conducted to assess the feasibility of heating networks based on industrial heat recovery and similarly for material reuse and recycling aiming to propose technical options for better energy efficiency and resource use whether on the process scale or on a larger inter-sites level. However reacting conversion systems create new valorization opportunities for the energy or material streams, adjudicated as non-usable by conventional process integration techniques, through converting them into new recoverable products and thus reintroducing them back into the production cycle. In this perspective, two novel conceptual frameworks, for incorporating reacting thermodynamic conversion systems to the material and energy integration problems in both cooperative and non-cooperative schemes, were proposed in this doctoral dissertation. The application of the proposed methodological frameworks on a realistic industrial park demonstrated how to implement conversion processes in a territory that reinsert streams judged to be non-recoverable by conventional on-site and inter-site energy and material integration techniques ensuing substantial operating costs savings and enhancing the park's circular economy. The non-usable stream in the investigated park is woody biomass for which three conversion routes were challenged being the wood to hydrogen, methane production and cogeneration

Texte intégralAfter a long period where automation was the most important focus, the place of the human operators has been revalorized by the modern production system in order to reach higher production agility. In this context, we are interested in the assistance that information technologies could bring to the operators. The goal is to help them in their decisions by providing them information suited to the control of the unit. Indeed, the objective of production requires a complex orchestration of tasks based on overwhelming information for the human brain. To address this issue, we have conceived an interactive assistance system dedicated to these operators. Its duty is to permanently communicate with each operator in order to suggest him/her a limited subset of the most productive tasks according to the current state of the production and to take into account his/her final decisions for real-time computation of an optimized control. Because one of its interesting characteristics is its ability to be adapted to any pre-existent units involving humans, our aim is to set up a generic, efficient and reusable architecture. We have so developed a generic prototype that can be distributed on several networked computers. In this purpose, a simulation approach has been first proposed: it permits to couple the system with an existing unit and to highlight its interoperability. This preliminary study led us to organize the system around the Web Client/Server architecture. Finally, we have evaluated the performances of the system owing to a testing environment, what brought us to consider the criteria of security of the system and to introduce the concept of trust

Texte intégralLn the majority of the current CAD/CAM systems, the telegrams were defined by using graphical representation tools (dimensions, frameworks of tolerances, reference mark, texts. . . ). This syntactic and semantic representation must be correct. The syntax rules are recognized by the software, but not all. It is still possible to write or to create tolerances which are not correct with syntactic and semantic rules. To check that the semantic tolerance is correct, it is necessary to give to the designer an interpretation in accordance with the rules defined by the standards. However, these rules are complex. Until now only a technician, having a thorough knowledge can check if a tolerance on the drawing have a correct semantic. I develop an integrated system into the TopSolid software that can project the tolerances on the drawing tram the part in the 3D model. So, the user will work on a 3D model. After to have defined the toleranced surfaces on the part, the software makes to check the parameters and the choices of the user. The designer will be able to define tolerance datum. Their coherence with the geometrical tolerance will be automatically checked progressively during their design. Then, the software helps the designer to determine which surfaces are able to be taken as tolerance datum and that which must be toleranced. This work will make it possible to define a complete tolerancing with hierarchical functional surfaces. This doctoral thesis proposes to assist the designer in the tolerancing process. I place at his disposal with my work a knowledge transfer tool for tolerancing and a help workshop to the decision-making

Texte intégralThe research work performed in this thesis is in the framework of issues related of renewable energies led by GREAH laboratory. The research work has been funded by Le Havre Municipality Assembly (CODAH). The requirements of power fluctuations in the grid are given by the grid code established by the electricity utilities companies in order to mitigate the impact of the wind power fluctuation on frequency and voltage in electrical grid. As wind energy has a fluctuating behavior, solutions have been proposed in this thesis for the situation where the power produced by an offshore wind power plant exceeds the threshold given by the grid code. Among the solutions, we can quote the ability of the wind power plant to smooth its own power production or integrate storage units. In the first case, the use of power reserve in wind turbines is possible and two methods have been proposed, and their performance evaluated. For the second solution, a methodology to find and to choose out the storage technology has been discussed. Proposals to build offshore wind farms with technologies using direct current (DC) have emerged. To get a coupling which fulfills the requirement of good reliability of power electronic devices used for the design of new wind farms, it has been proposed in this thesis adequate converters and control strategies that ensure their stability

Texte intégralIn the last decade, the use of sensors for measuring various phenomenons has greatly increased. As such, we can now make use of sensors to measure GPS position, temperature and even the heartbeats of a person. Nowadays, the wide diversity of sensor makes them the best tools to gather data. Along with this effervescence, analysis tools have also advanced since the creation of transactional databases, leading to a new category of tools, analysis systems (Business Intelligence (BI)), which respond to the need of the global analysis of the data. Data warehouses and OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) tools, which belong to this category, enable users to analyze big volumes of data, execute time-based requests and build statistic graphs in a few simple mouse clicks. Although the various types of sensor can surely enrich any analysis, such data requires heavy integration processes to be driven into the data warehouse, centerpiece of any decision-making process. The different data types produced by sensors, sensor models and ways to transfer such data are even today significant obstacles to sensors data streams integration in a geo-decisional data warehouse. Also, actual geo-decisional data warehouses are not initially built to welcome new data on a high frequency. Since the performances of a data warehouse are restricted during an update, new data is usually added weekly, monthly, etc. However, some data warehouses, called Real-Time Data Warehouses (RTDW), are able to be updated several times a day without letting its performance diminish during the process. But this technology is not very common, very costly and in most of cases considered as "beta" versions. Therefore, this research aims to develop an approach allowing to publish and normalize real-time sensors data streams and to integrate it into a classic data warehouse. An optimized update strategy has also been developed so the frequent new data can be added to the analysis without affecting the data warehouse performances.

Texte intégralIntegration of disassembly operations during product design is an important issue today. It is estimated that at the earliest stages of product design, the cost of disassembly operations almost represents 30 % of its total cost. Nowadays, disassembly operation simulation of industrial products finds a strong interest in interactive simulations through immersive and real-time schemes. In this context, in the first place, this thesis presents a method for generating the feasible disassembly sequences for selective disassembly. The method is based on the lowest levels of a disassembly product graph. Instead of considering the geometric constraints for each pair of components, the proposed method considers the geometric contact and collision relationships among the components in order to generate the so-called Disassembly Geometry Contacting Graph (DGCG). The latter is then used for disassembly sequence generation thus allowing the number of possible sequences to be reduced by ignoring any components which are unrelated to the target. A simulation framework was developed integrated in a Virtual reality environment thus allowing generating the minimum number of possible disassembly sequences. Secondly, a method for disassembly operation evaluation by 3D geometric removability analysis in a Virtual environment is proposed. It is based on seven new criteria which are: visibility of a part, disassembly angles, number of tools' changes, path orientation changing, sub-assembly stability, neck score and bending score. All criteria are presented by dimensionless coefficients automatically calculated, thus allowing evaluating disassembly sequences complexity. For this purpose, a mixed virtual reality disassembly environment (VRDE) is developed based on Python programming language, utilizing VTK (Visualization Toolkit) and ODE (Open Dynamics Engine) libraries. The framework is based on STEP, WRL and STL exchange formats. The analysis results and findings demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach thus providing significant assistance for the evaluation of disassembly sequences during Product Development Process (PDP). Further consequences of the present work consist in ranking the criteria according to their importance. For this purpose, moderation coefficients may be allocated to each of them thus allowing a more comprehensive evaluating method

Texte intégralAn ethnographic approach of a catholic school and an internal analysis by one of its members. The player's practice is confronted with the institution's position brings to light signs which lead to the disclosure of unvoiced comments. Transcendence, be it on a religious or secular level does no longer feed the educational thinking. One is made to forget the religious frame and its thirst for power over the regional school scene. The running of the authorities which rule every day life in a school was analysed, pointing out its inflexibility and how it stems from an authoritarianism legitimated by its peculiar nature. As a member of the institution he is probing into, the researcher is alsos witness and therefore feels a duty to analyze his self implication

Texte intégralThe digitalization of healthcare is on and multiple e-health projects are unceasingly coming up. In the rare diseases context, a field that has become a public health policy priority in France, e-health could be a solution to improve rare diseases epidemiology and to propose a better care for patients. The national data bank for rare diseases (BNDMR) offers the centralization of these epidemiological studies conduction for all rare diseases and all affected patients followed in the French healthcare system. The BNDMR must grow in a dense and heterogeneous digital landscape. Developing the BNDMR interoperability is the objective of this thesis’ work. How to identify patients, including fetuses? How to federate patients’ identities to avoid duplicates creation? How to link patients’ data to allow studies’ conduction? In response to these questions, we propose a universal method for patients’ identification that meets the requirements of health data protection. Which data should be collected in the national data bank? How to improve and facilitate the development of interoperability between these data and those from the wide range of the existing systems? In response to these questions, we first propose the collection of a standardized minimum data set for all rare diseases. The implementation of international standards provides a first step toward interoperability. We then propose to move towards the discovery of mappings between heterogeneous data sources. Minimizing human intervention by adopting automated alignment techniques and making these alignments’ results reliable and exploitable were the main motivations of our proposal
