Protective coatings that ensure the safety of operating strategically important and hazardous production facilities play an important role in ensuring safety at an industrial enterprise. There is a significant import dependence in this segment. OZ is working to completely replace the existing product line. Against this background, the introduction of economic sanctions and exchange rate differences, on the one hand, threatened the current business, and, on the other hand, challenged their own development.

Résumé :
Dissertação para obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial
Aim: The purpose of this work was to identify and assess safety features on a production line of paper manufacturer called Renova. The assessment includes technical as well as organisational factors. The study was carried out through the evaluation of safety functions (SF), either present or absent in the system analyzed. Methods: The methodology applied was the SFA (Safety Function Analysis), which was developed by Harms-Ringdahl in 2001 and was updated further, in 2011 (draft version). The analytical framework was applied in two processes (raw material loading and transversal cut of log) of a production line (Line H4) of Renova. Results: In the first process analyzed (raw material loading), 47 safety functions (SF) were identified and evaluated, whereas 36 SF were assessed in the second case (transversal cut of log). The evaluation has shown that most of the SF considered are in good condition and being well monitored, therefore they do not need any improvements. In contrast, this work has also identified a number of safety functions that need essential improvements. Conclusions: As a consequence of this SFA analysis, the author proposes a number of specific recommendations to improve safety and the system’s performance in general. Since Renova is a manufacturer of paper products, fire safety is of paramount importance and one of the most relevant recommendations is perhaps the implementation of thermo graphic tests to identify possible hot spots that may originate a fire.

Résumé :
Accident Hazards, dangers, losses and risk are what we would to like to eliminate, minimize or avoid in industry. Modern industries have created many opportunities for these against which man’s primitive instincts offer no protection. In today’s complex industrial environment safety has become major preoccupation, especially after the realization that there is a clear economic incentive to do so. Industrial hazards may cause by human error or by physical or mechanical malfunction, it is very often possible to eliminate the worst consequences of human error by engineering modification. But the modification also needs checking very thoroughly to ensue that it has not introduced some new and unsuspected hazard.

Résumé :
Climate change, digital transformation, political, economic and geopolitical tensions, an increasingly arms-length relation to work: can industrial safety (and in particular, its management) continue to be conceived of, modeled and practiced in the same way as in the past, despite the major changes that have arisen over the past decades? The FonCSI invites interested stakeholders to join a debate on this question, which will involve critical analysis at the academic, industrial and practical levels. To kick off this debate, the current document provides an overview of the significant changes that have occurred since the beginning of the century and analyzes their potential impacts on safety management. These impacts are analyzed at both the conceptual (are the hypotheses and principles that underlie most safety models still valid?) and the practical (what are the implications for safety management professionals?) level. This exercise leads us to propose a number of possible paths forward for reflecting upon and managing safety in our changing world. We will be working with the academic community and interested stakeholders to discuss, improve and develop more practically oriented suggestions for reimagining safety management as a way of living with uncertainty and complexity rather than a commitment to ensuring control.

Résumé :
This “Cahier de la sécurité industrielle” originates from FonCSI’s Strategic analysis “Work and workers in the 2040’s”. This project brought together a core group of academic researchers and scientific experts from industrial companies and organizations sponsoring FonCSI. They met about 15 times with the aim of exploring the impacts on the safety of high-hazard organizations of the megatrends our world and societies are undergoing. This document focuses on the role of humans and their relationship to technology. The fast pace of evolution of digital technologies is shaking up the conventional high-hazard industry landscape, introducing new challenges for safety. This document focuses on the role played by humans in the 2030-2040 timeframe as regards how safety is managed and governed. The results highlight the impact of the implicit framework adopted to appreciate the respective contributions of humans and digital technologies to the safety of high-hazard industries. Whereas a human-centered framework emphasizes specific human capabilities such as empathy, making sense, judgment, as critical to safety, a technology-centered one focuses on computational power and speed as promises to future safety. None of these frameworks opposing humans and digital technologies seems appropriate to account for real situations where they both coexist and are interrelated in more complex ways than just through man-machine interfaces. Furthermore, they are part of a broader social, political, organizational, and cultural context calling for qualifying absolute statements on Technology and Humanity. More generally, high-risk operations are complex. Thinking in terms of dichotomies (e.g., technology/humans; digital/non-digital) is too simplistic to anticipate the safety challenges ahead of us. Exploring the interrelations between humans and digital technologies includes investigating the context in which they evolve to frame possible future safety challenges in a relevant manner. This means involving diverse perspectives and disciplines to bring together humans and technologies in context and reflect the complex reality.

In the article, the authors consider emergency situations at the enterprise of the Joint-Stock Company “Scientific and Production Complex “Alternative Energy” (JSC “NPK “ALTEN”), consider measures to prevent emergency situations at the enterprise, readiness to eliminate them consequences. Compliance with these measures will improve the efficiency of the company’s industrial safety management system. The relevance of the research is aimed at an effective system of organization and management of industrial safety, which allows you to manage risks and helps to ensure favorable working conditions for the health of employees at the enterprise. A mobile emergency and emergency response system was created.
