Résumé Apparemment simple à première vue, la traduction des toponymes pose un certain nombre de problèmes relevant à la fois de la linguistique et de la culture au sens large. Tout d’abord, il n’est pas tout à fait évident de circonscrire ce qu’on appelle un toponyme si ce n’est en lui appliquant le trait [locatif] ; il apparaît alors de nouvelles classes de toponymes comme les objets célestes (der Halleysche Komet = la comète de Halley), les bâtiments (der Pariser Triumphbogen = l’Arc de triomphe) ou les lieux mythiques ou fictifs (Utopia = Utopie) qui ne sont pas celles de l’onomastique traditionnelle. En deuxième lieu, on constate des différences morphosyntaxiques, telle la détermination qui peut être présente en allemand et pas en français ou vice versa (Sachsen = la Saxe ; der Mars = Mars). Pour le même toponyme, la référence peut aussi changer (der Genfer See = le lac Léman, der Aralsee = la mer d’Aral et non *le lac d’Aral). S’ajoute à ces phénomènes une dimension qu’on peut qualifier de « poids de l’histoire » : la traduction étant une appropriation, plus un toponyme étranger aura de liens historiques avec une culture donnée, plus on aura tendance à le traduire et inversement. Ceci en dépit des recommandations des Nations Unies en matière de traduction des toponymes.

Résumé Il serait sûrement abusif de compter des savants comme Halley, Huygens, ou Leibniz, au nombre des premiers démographes. La discipline n'existait pas encore, et ce sont d'autres préoccupations qui les ont conduits à s'intéresser au calcul des durées de vie. Il y avait d'abord la demande actuarielle : des systèmes « d'assurance vie » se mettaient en place, et leur fonctionnement supposait de connaître les risques de décès à chaque âge et de les combiner entre eux. Les plus mathématiciens y voyaient aussi une occasion intéressante de développer les notions et les calculs de probabilités ; les échanges entre les frères Huygens, en 1669, se situent dans ce cadre, et ils sont analysés ici par Jean-Marc Rohrbasser et Jacques Véron. Ce sont finalement les notions d'espérance de vie (durée de vie moyenne) et de « vie probable » (espérance de vie médiane) qui se trouvent définies. Malheureusement, ces travaux resteront inédits, tout comme ceux de Leibniz sur le même sujet quelques années plus tard.

Abstract. Major trends in society like flexibilisation, blurring of boundaries between life spheres and subjectification of labour come along with new requirements in individual's everyday life. In the scientific debate it has in contrast hardly been discussed how these trends affect different levels of society beyond social strata like the creative class. Referring to the concepts of reflexive modernity and time-geography the focus of this article is on temporal and spatial aspects of societal change and its effects on everyday life. Based on in-depth interviews and a household survey carried out in different residential areas in the region of Halle-Leipzig the paper points out how blurred borders between "work'' and "life'' affect individuals' space-time activities between new opportunities and new constraints. Here an inner-city neighbourhood and a community in the urban sprawl between Halle and Leipzig are under consideration to highlight different strategies to deal with weakening associations between activities, place and time emerging in different settlement structures.

Résumé La première table de mortalité, celle de Halley, supposait la population de Breslau stationnaire ; la démographie recourt donc aux modèles depuis ses débuts. Louis Henry définissait ceux-ci « comme l'étude de relations numériques en vue de déceler les causes, de s'y retrouver dans la complexité d'un ensemble de données non indépendantes, de justifier des méthodes de mesures ou des procédés de corrections d'erreurs... Ils remplacent dans bien des cas des expériences impossibles ou des observations inaccessibles... Ils éclairent l'enchaînement des phénomènes dans des conditions bien déterminées et facilitent la recherche des causes. » Mais si l'on excepte la théorie de Lotka, élaborée dans l'entre-deux-guerres, les modèles ne prennent leur essor et une certaine autonomie qu'au cours de ce demi-siècle. Jane Menken, Ansley J. Coale et Patrick Heuveline retracent ici l'histoire des modèles démographiques en replaçant les articles de Population dans l'ensemble de la production sur ce sujet.

Gli scienziati occidentali incontravano i "colleghi" del blocco sovietico. L'obiettivo politico-diplomatico era mostrare disponibilità al dialogo, quello ovvio avere canali alternativi di informazione sui progressi sovietici. Questi contatti dovevano avvenire nel quadro di una collaborazione occidentale in funzione della traiettoria impressa allo sviluppo tecno-scientifico statunitense. Vennero tuttavia delineandosi negli anni Sessanta quei caratteri di una competizione/cooperazione euro-atlantica giunti fino ai giorni nostri, senza che il processo di costruzione europea ne intaccasse gli ambiti più strategici. Come in questo contesto rapportarsi con il mondo sovietico? E che immagine trarne? Nuove evidenze sembrano emergere grazie all'incrocio di diversi archivi tratti dall'esperienza più indicativa, quella francese, dalle commissioni scientifiche franco-sovietiche alla "cooperazione" spaziale con le missioni dello spationaute Jean-Luc Chrétien nel 1982 e nel 1988, e poi con la fase di maggior cooperazione durante le missioni Vega 1 e 2 nell'Armata Halley per far intercettare la cometa dalla sonda ESA Giotto nel marzo 1986.

AbstractMost cometary parent molecules do not strongly fluoresce at ultraviolet and visible wavelengths, and some do not possess permanent electric dipole moments, preventing their study in the radio region as well. However, many of these molecules have strong ro-vibrational transitions in the near infrared (λ ∼ 2 – 5 μm). Since the solar flux at these wavelengths is quite strong, parent molecules in cometary comae can be probed directly via fluorescence in these infrared transitions. The feasibility of this approach was convincingly demonstrated by the detection of H2O in comet Halley (1986 III) from the Kuiper Airborne Observatory and by the detection of H2O, CO2, and H2CO using an infrared spectrometer (IKS) on VEGA. Tentative detections of near infrared lines of CH4 were also reported during ground-based and airborne observations of comets Halley and Wilson (1987 VII). High resolution spectroscopy of the infrared water transitions has yielded a wealth of new information on cometary physics: the absolute line intensities and spatial brightness profiles are used to determine water production rates and lifetimes, the relative line intensities probe the kinetic temperature profile in the coma, the line widths and line positions shed light on coma outflow dynamics, and the temporal variability in the lines provides information on the structure of the nucleus. These observations also allow the determination of the water ortho-to-para ratio, which may provide fundamental insight into the origin and/or evolutionary history of cometary nuclei. Similar observations of other molecules (those mentioned above plus others) will provide important complementary data and will also allow us to compile a volatile inventory for cometary nuclei, but such observations are extremely difficult due to the low abundances of these molecules (≤10% relative to water) and the limitations of present infrared facilities. Recent advances in infrared instrumentation promise to extend sensitivities for parent molecule searches to relative abundances well below 1%, especially if cooled, Earth-orbiting facilities are available.

Riassunto Agli antipodi della rappresentazione di Dante come precursore dell’unità nazionale, elaborata dalla filologia erudita italiana, Karl Witte, il più importante dantista di lingua tedesca del XIX secolo, costruì l’immagine di un Dante mistico e antirazionalista, cattolico e conservatore. Il presente articolo analizza, in primo luogo, il progetto intellettuale di Witte a partire dalle reti di relazioni sociali da lui intrattenute, dalle università prussiane sino alla Roma dei pittori ›nazareni‹, per giungere all’università di Halle, dove Witte occupò la cattedra di diritto romano per un periodo di quasi cinquant’anni. In un secondo momento, il contributo si sofferma sulla ricezione delle interpretazioni di Witte, e in particolare della sua lettura riduttiva del Convivio e della filosofia che in esso si esprime. L’articolo mostra come i dibattiti suscitati dai lavori di Witte abbiano infine ecceduto le aspettative del suo stesso autore per dar luogo a una vasta discussione sulla natura e sul valore della scolastica.

For years, phoneticians have tried to simplify pronunciation for EFL/ESL learners. Some have identified four degrees of primary, secondary, tertiary, and weak stress, and others only three degrees: primary, secondary, and weak. Still others have concentrated on two stress levels: accented versus unaccented, or stressed versus unstressed (Bowen, 1975; Stageberg, 1964; Chomsky & Halle, 1968). None, however, has followed an orthography-based approach to English accent. Because orthography is the most static way of representing words in English, spelling- or orthography-based rules of accent/stress placement may come as a relief to ESL/EFL learners. In this article I present four spelling-based rules for stress placement to help EFL/ESL learners master pronunciation.

Dans le Modèle ludique (Ferland, 1994a), le jeu est perçu comme la voie privilégiée pour développer la capacité d'agir de l'enfant avec déficience physique, concept qui présente des liens avec celui de la capacité fonctionnelle. Afin d'analyser les relations existant entre le comportement ludique de l'enfant (intérêt, action et attitude de jeu) et sa capacité fonctionnelle, une étude de type exploratoire fut menée auprès de 30 enfants d'âge préscolaire ayant une déficience motrice cérébrale. L'Évaluation du comportement ludique (Ferland, 1994b) et le Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (Haley, Coster, Ludlow, Haltiwanger & Andrellos, 1992) ont été utilisés. Les résultats indiquent, entre autres, que les relations entre les deux concepts étudiés sont principalement établies par les capacités ludiques. L'intérêt et l'attitude ludiques s'avèrent, pour leur part, des dimensions disctinctes et complémentaires.

Riassunto Il contributo esamina la tesi di Olaf Rader, secondo cui l’imperatore Federico II, nato in Italia e cresciuto in Sicilia, sarebbe stato „durch und durch Sizilianer“ (del tutto siciliano), come aveva sostenuto nella seconda meta del sec. XIX Leopold von Ranke e di conseguenza „il primo straniero sul trono tedesco“, come scrisse poi Johannes Haller nella prima meta del Novecento. Secondo tale interpretazione, egli avrebbe dato priorita al regno di Sicilia, ereditato dalla madre Costanza d’Altavilla, e trascurato invece l’impero romano-tedesco, diversamente da suo nonno Federico I Barbarossa. Questa tesi risulta poco convincente perche attribuendo a Federico II una chiara identita siciliana si trascura il fatto che egli, trasferitosi in Germania all’eta di 17 anni e rimanendovi per otto, si immerse in un contesto del tutto tedesco, riappropriandosi delle sue radici sveve. Inoltre Federico II difese accanitamente gli interessi dell’impero romano-tedesco contro il papato e i comuni settentrionali, mettendo le ingenti risorse economiche del regno di Sicilia al servizio delle sue azioni militari. Essendo a quell’epoca particolarmente importante la presenza fisica del sovrano per l’azione di governo, Federico ovvio alla sua assenza nelle zone d’oltralpe, prive di strutture amministrative paragonabili a quelle italiane, delegando i suoi figli - Enrico (VII) prima e Corrado IV poi - a rappresentarlo in Germania. La tesi di un Federico II come „il siciliano sul trono imperiale“ non convince perche e basata su concetti ottoe novecenteschi quali popolo, nazione e identita nazionali che mal si adattano al Medioevo.

L’anonima chantefable Aucassin et Nicolette, fondata sulla parodia, ha una controversa datazione. Tuttavia la presenza di l’autrier – marca lessicale identificativa del genere pastorella –, e una serie di allusioni erotiche autorizzano a rileggere con maggiore attenzione il cap. XI, e inparticolare il v. 21 che riproduce il v. 12 del prologo, a conferma della centralità della scena rappresentata, in connessione sia con la lirica del gattorosso di Guglielmo IX, sia con la pastorella maggiore di Marcabruno ad essa connessa. Non solo, ma l’analisi lessicale di un altro vocabolo dello stesso capitolo consente di cogliere un ulteriore gioco intertestuale con le Jeu de la Feuillée di Adam de la Halle, che fornisce il 1276 come terminus post quem per la datazione della chantefable e di porre la sua composizione nell’ambiente borghese di Arras, di cui condivide le istanze sociali e culturali declinate attraverso il ricorso alla parodia.

L’arte del costruire (Baukunst) del nostro tempo trova fondamento nella ricerca di una nuova forma di composizione dei differenti autonomi elementi costruttivo/figurativi, nei quali risulta originariamente frammentata e stratificata: l’elemento plastico murario, che si occupa della fondazione del suolo, come massa stereotomica topograficamente modellata in rapporto alla conformazione del luogo; l’elemento propriamente tettonico della struttura di sostegno del riparo, strettamente riferibile ai procedimenti di montaggio di elementi finiti; l’elemento, portatore di motivi tessili, dell’involucro che dà forma allo spazio interno: pura superficie di rivestimento (Bekleidung) tendente alla smaterializzazione. Questi elementi si sono definiti attraverso un lungo processo di formazione, a partire dalla radicale revisione teorica delle tradizionali categorie tettoniche, nel corso dell’Ottocento. Essi sembrano trovare compimento nell’ultima fase della ricerca miesiana della “nuova” arte del costruire, nel progetto della Halle monumentale per Cuba/Berlin (1957-68).KEYWORDS: Mies van der Rohe; tettonica; spazio; struttura; costruzione; Baukunst.The art of building (Baukunst) of our time is founded on the search of a new kind of composition of different autonomous elements, in which it was originally fragmented and stratified: the plastic masonry element of the earthwork, as a stereotomic, topographic mass, closely related to the specific site; the properly tectonic element of the light carpentry framework/roofwork, largely connected to the rational modularity of assembly technique; the dematerialized element of spatial enclosure, as textile cladding surface: the pure dressing (Bekleidung). These elements have been defined through a long form-giving process, started with the radical nineteenth-century theoretical review of traditional tectonic categories. The same elements seem to reach their fulfillment in the last phase of Mies’ research on the “new” art of building: the project for a monumental Halle in Santiago de Cuba, finally built in Berlin (1957-68).KEYWORDS: Mies van der Rohe; tectonics; space; structure; construction; Baukunst.

Cette contribution s’intéresse aux vestiges de la Basilica Aemilia de Rome et de ses prédécesseurs. Les deux dernières tentatives de restitution de la Basilica Fulvia et Aemilia , manifestement fautives, sont confrontées à une nouvelle proposition qui correspond davantage à l’image d’une architecture romaine marquée par l’hellénisme. L’imposante construction érigée en 179 av. J.-C. sur le Forum piscarium a remplaçé une salle hypostyle à un seul niveau construite sur une trame très comparable à celle de la Salle hypostyle de Délos. Selon Tite-Live, l’édifice, qui fut le premier à recevoir le nom de basilica , avait été réalisé à la hâte pour remplacer provisoirement l’ Atrium regium , incendié en 210 av. J.-C. Le bâtiment détruit correspondait à la βασιλικὴ αὐλή de l’administration financière ptolémaïque. Comme elle, il servait de bourse pour le grand commerce. Les dénominations latines Atrium regium et Basilica s’appliquaient à deux bâtiments différents situés au même endroit à Rome. Lors de sa latinisation, le terme Basilica a été créé pour désigner la fonction du bâtiment. L’impressionnante halle de 179 av. J.-C., avec son espace intérieur couvert sans piliers, devait devenir, sous le nom de Basilica Aemilia , le prototype de la forme architecturale canonique de la basilique romaine décrite par Vitruve, qui a durablement marqué l’histoire de l’architecture en Occident. L’étude se termine par un plaidoyer en faveur d’un inventaire minutieux des vestiges architecturaux comme condition préalable à la détermination de la valeur antique du pied comme unité de mesure utilisée lors de la conception et de la réalisation d’un édifice antique. Seule cette mesure peut permettre d’accéder aux intentions planimétriques d’un maître d’œuvre antique.

Côte d’Ivoire, like many countries in Africa, has experienced a decade of crises that has not been without consequences for the natural formations in general and protected areas in particular. The objective of this study is to evaluate the floristic diversity and structure of forest fragments Southwest of National Park of Comoé after conflicts. The sampling methodology was to inventory all taxa along 500 meters long and a width of 10 m (5 m either side of the main line) installed in each forest fragment. In addition to the inventory of taxa, we measured the circumference of all trees at least 30 cm with their corresponding pitch. A total of 12 transects were sampled in 12 fragments of forest. Following these inventories, 256 plant species have been identified, the most abundant belong to the families of Rubiaceae and Fabaceae. 23 species have been recognized as having a special status, including Salacia miegei N. Halle and Uvaria tortilis A. Chev. Ex Hutch. & Dalziel are endemic to the Côte d’Ivoire. Nine (9) others species have been identified as species of high commercial value for the quality of their wood. The forest formations are very dense with more than 550 trees / ha. It appears that the fragments contain few large trees. Despite the successive crises, it appears that forest fragments Southwest National Park Comoé still have good potential floristic.

Résumé La théorie du jugement était une des préoccupations de Husserl depuis la toute première période de sa carrière. Ses premières recherches dans ce domaine se trouvent dans deux manuscrits rédigés en 1893 et 1893-1894 et publiés dans le volume XL des Husserliana (Texte no 1 et 2). Dans cet article, j’examinerai la théorie du jugement dans ces manuscrits en relation aux questions suivantes : 1) les jugements en relation aux représentations ; 2) les assomptions comme des actes qui se déroulent parallèlement aux jugements ; 3) les jugements impropres en tant que distincts des jugements propres ; 4) les jugements objectifs ; 5) les états de choses en tant que corrélatifs des actes de juger. Nous verrons que, tandis que Husserl se libère à maints égards de la théorie du jugement de Brentano qu’il avait apprise à Vienne puis (de Stumpf) à Halle, ses positions sont en même temps tout à fait représentatives de la phénoménologie autrichienne dans la mesure où elles impliquent à la fois une psychologie descriptive et une théorie de l’objet, bien que sans aucune prétention d’établir une nouvelle méthode en philosophie.

Résumé L’un des problèmes auxquels ont été confrontées nombre d’études sur le parler de Damas est l’effacement de schwa en position accentuellement faible. Dans le cadre de la théorie standard, l’analyse de ce phénomène devait recourir, d’une part, à l’application cyclique de la règle d’accentuation et, d’autre part, à une règle d’effacement « à mémoire », c’est-à-dire « se souvenant » qu’un schwa ait été accentué ou non dans un cycle antérieur. Dans cet article, nous présentons une analyse révisée de ce phénomène, à l’intérieur du cadre théorique proposé par Halle et Vergnaud (1985). À l’instar des phénomènes tonaux dans une phonologie autosegmentale, cette théorie réserve aux phénomènes d’accent un plan autonome, le plan accentuel, lequel se divise en divers niveaux pour former une grille métrique. Notre analyse permet ainsi de rendre compte directement de la règle d’effacement et de la capacité de celle-ci à distinguer une voyelle accentuée dans un cycle antérieur et ce, sans recourir à un type de règle sans doute trop puissant comme les règles « à mémoire ».

On 29 November 2023, the Court of Appeal held in James Churchill v Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, that the courts of England and Wales are entitled lawfully to order parties to engage in non-court-based dispute resolution processes. This important decision should not come as a surprise. This article will argue by reference to case law, judicial commentary and the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) that this decision is the most recent expression of an impulse the courts have long maintained: that a case can be dealt with justly by moving (by various means) litigants away from the judgment seat to one of negotiated, consensual outcomes. The decision corrects an anomaly within the CPR that obliges parties to further the overriding objective by considering alternative dispute resolution but deprives the court of a particular remedy to enforce that obligation. This article will trace the roots of the Court of Appeal decision and identify to what extent it is the natural progression in judicial thinking, and it truly breaks new ground. Early printed books from the Krakow Town Archives of Former Records in the resources of the National Archives in Krakow. Initial investigation, provenance analysis The collection of early printed books stored in the National Archives in Krakow has not been processed so far. This article aims to approximate the current state of knowledge regarding the contents of the collection. The historic book collection of the Archives, represented by both Polish and foreign printed books covering various subjects, numbers slightly over 650 works issued before 1801. Included in this number are 28 early printed books from the 16th century, 210 from the 17th century and 413 from the 18th century. The oldest one – Liber horarum canonicarum secundum veram rubricam sive notulam ecclesiae Cracoviensis – was issued in 1508 by the publishing house of Jan Haller in Krakow. The origins of the early printed books vary – they come from donations, acquisitions of archival materials as well as purchases. The greatest number come from donations, with the following donors worthy of special mention: Ambroży Grabowski, Józef Seruga and Franciszek Biesiadecki, as well as Józef Muczkowski, Karol Estreicher and others. An invaluable part of the collection (61 works) are the printed books from the library of Hieronim Pinocci (1612–1676), a merchant, royal secretary and diplomat, acquired from the town archives at the end of the 19th century. Many works, especially those concerning the history of Krakow, were also purchased using the funds of the Archives. The early printed books gathered in the library of the National Archives in Krakow create a particularly valuable collection, which may also be a source of information concerning provenance.

L’influence de Pierre Poiret sur le milieu piétiste en Allemagne est très hétérogène. Il a lui-même découvert les idées d’Antoinette Bourignon à Francfort et s’est chargé de diffuser ses enseignements à travers les groupes piétistes, notamment les « piétistes radicaux ». Les idées millénaristes de J. W. et J. E. Petersen sont assez comparables à celles de Poiret. La Kirchen- und Ketzerhistorie de G. Arnold a mieux fait connaître l’importance de Poiret à propos du franchissement des frontières entre les confessions religieuses. Les piétistes du Wurtemberg comme J. A. Bengel et Chr. F. Oetinger ont été influencés par le projet théologique de Poiret tel qu’il est esquissé dans l’Œconomie divine. Dans l’orphelinat de Halle, les écrits de Poiret sont publiés par A. H. Francke et A. W. Böhme. En même temps, Poiret est fortement critiqué par Ph. J. Spener, J. W. Jäger et J. Lange. Il fait enfin connaître la piété mystique par les biographies de plusieurs auteurs mystiques de la fin du Moyen Âge. Via G. Tersteegen, ces biographies sont mieux connues en Allemagne. Les dirigeants du mouvement de réveil (catholique) de l’Allgäu (début du XIXe siècle) ainsi que Hedwig von Redern, écrivain de la Gemeinschaftsbewegung (fin du XIXe siècle) ont repris ces biographies mystiques dans leur enseignement de la vie pieuse.

Le présent ouvrage propose une traduction annotée et précédée d’une longue Présentation (33 pages) de deux textes complémentaires, qui marquèrent, bien qu’à divers titres, la philosophie pratico-morale allemande du milieu du XVIIIe siècle - les Réflexions sur la philosophie morale de Kant et les Principes de la philosophie pratique première de Baumgarten - par Luc Langlois, en collaboration avec Mathieu Robitaille (pour la traduction des Réflexions) et Emilie Jade-Poliquin (pour la traduction des Principes). Les Réflexions de Kant ne constituent pas un ouvrage à proprement parler, mais un ensemble de notes et remarques rédigées par Kant, en lien avec son enseignement en philosophie morale qui s’étala sur plus de 30 ans, souvent inscrites dans les marges (ou sur des feuillets séparés) du principal manuel que Kant utilisait comme fil directeur de ses cours de philosophie morale à l’Université de Königsberg, à savoir les Initia philosophiae practicae primae d’Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten (Halle, édition de 1760). Ces deux textes sont donc inséparables dans la mesure où le premier, reflet direct des enseignements de morale de Kant, s’inspire largement du second, dont il propose de larges commentaires. La présentation concomitante de ces deux textes permet à la fois d’apprécier l’influence des Principes de Baumgarten sur Kant et la manière dont Kant intègre, en se les réappropriant et en les infléchissant, à sa propre philosophie morale des thèmes empruntés à Baumgarten.

RationnelLa méthadone est prescrite comme traitement de substitution de la dépendance aux opiaces depuis les années 1960 . Néanmoins, l’expérience des cliniciens montre que la réponse thérapeutique est obtenue à des doses extrêmement variables d’un patient à l’autre et qu’il est également difficile de prédire les effets secondaires.MéthodeEn collaboration avec plusieurs centres de soins d’Île-de-France (CSAPA Espace Murger, AP–HP, hôpital Fernand-Widal, Dr Gaël Dupuy ; clinique Liberté, hôpital Paul-Guiraud, Dr Didier Touzeau ; CSAPA Moreau de Tours, centre hospitalier Sainte-Anne, Dr Xavier Laqueille ; CSAPA Monte Cristo, AP–HP, HEGP, Dr Cyrille Orizet ; CSAPA EGO, association Aurore, Dr Philippe Coeuru ; ECIMUD, AP–HP, hôpital Louis-Mourier, Dr Anne-Marie Simonpoli ; CSAPA 110 Les Halles, PSA 75, Dr Pierrre Polomeni ; Bus Méthadone Gaia, Dr Elisabeth Avril) nous avons conduit une étude recueillant des données cliniques et génétiques chez des patients héroïnomanes stabilisés sous traitement par méthadone.RésultatsDeux cent seize patients ont été inclus entre 2008 et 2013. Nous présenterons ici des résultats concernant la prédiction des doses nécessaires à l’équilibre thérapeutique chez 80 patients ayant complété une hospitalisation de jour comprenant une exploration fonctionnelle du métabolisme hépatique . Nous présenterons également des résultats sur 161 patients ayant bénéficié d’une mesure de l’espace Qt par un cardiologue et du recueil de facteurs de risque cliniques et génétiques de Torsades de pointes, complétant des données préliminaires que nous avons publié . Ces résultats permettront de discuter les données à recueillir pour une prescription optimisée de méthadone à l’heure de la médecine personnalisée.

ABSTRACT Objective We have come through a long time since the partograph has been introduced and endorsed by World Health Organization (WHO) for the monitoring of the progress of labor. The aim of the present study was to review the status of its usage in the tertiary center and find out the reasons behind its irregular implementation. Materials and methods The study was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Malda Medical College, Malda, West Bengal, from January to June 2015. The case sheets of 6250 women admitted in active labor in the labor room was included in the study. A structured questionnaire was given to all the doctors and nursing staff who were on labor room duty in different shifts to enquire about the reasons behind the irregular and incomplete usage of partograph. Results Out of the 6250 case sheets studied partograph was done, only in 507 (8.11%) of cases and out of these it was correctly and completely done only in 40.03% cases. The reasons behind the lack of proper utilization were shortage of staff and negative attitude. Conclusion In spite of the fact that the importance of the role of partograph has been proved beyond doubt by the evidencebased studies, the proper utilization is yet to reach a standard. Context. Detection of abundant O2 at 1–10% relative to H2O ice in the comae of comets 1P/Halley and 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko has motivated attempts to explain the origin of the high O2 ice abundance. Recent chemical modelling of the outer, colder regions of a protoplanetary disk midplane has shown production of O2 ice at the same abundance as that measured in the comet. Aims. We aim to carry out a thorough investigation to constrain the conditions under which O2 ice could have been produced through kinetic chemistry in the pre-solar nebula midplane. Methods. We have utilised an updated chemical kinetics code to evolve chemistry under pre-solar nebula midplane conditions. Four different chemical starting conditions and the effects of various chemical parameters have been tested. Results. Using the fiducial network, and for either reset conditions (atomic initial abundances) or atomic oxygen only conditions, the abundance level of O2 ice measured in the comets can be reproduced at an intermediate time, after 0.1–2 Myr of evolution, depending on ionisation level. When including O3 chemistry, the abundance of O2 ice is much lower than the cometary abundance (by several orders of magnitude). We find that H2O2 and O3 ices are abundantly produced (at around the level of O2 ice) in disagreement with their respective abundances or upper limits from observations of comet 67P. Upon closer investigation of the parameter space, and varying parameters for grain–surface chemistry, it is found that for temperatures 15–25 K, densities of 109−1010 cm−3, and a barrier for quantum tunnelling set to 2 Å, the measured level of O2 ice can be reproduced with the new chemical network, including an updated binding energy for atomic oxygen (1660 K). However, the abundances of H2O2 and O3 ices still disagree with the observations. A larger activation energy for the O + O2 → O3 reaction (Eact > 1000 K) helps to reproduce the non-detection of O3 ice in the comet, as well as reproducing the observed abundances of H2O2 and O2 ices. The only other case in which the O2 ice matches the observed abundance, and O3 and H2O2 ice are lower, is the case when starting with an appreciable amount of oxygen locked in O2. Conclusions. The parameter space investigation revealed a sweet spot for production of O2 ice at an abundance matching those in 67P and 1P, and O3 and H2O2 ice abundances matching those in 67P. This means that there is a radial region in the pre-solar nebula from 120–150 AU, within which O2 could have been produced in situ via ice chemistry on grain surfaces. However, it is apparent that there is a high degree of sensitivity of the chemistry to the assumed chemical parameters (e.g. binding energy, activation barrier width, and quantum tunnelling barrier). Hence, because the more likely scenario starting with a percentage of elemental oxygen locked in O2 also reproduces the O2 ice abundance in 67P at early stages, this supports previous suggestions that the cometary O2 ice could have a primordial origin.

This article is result of library research with a normative legal approach. Legal materials and data were obtained from Islamic legal norms regarding inheritance and khuntsa obtained from the texts of the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as the opinions of the jurists. This thesis discusses the distribution of khuntsa inheritance based on the opinion of Imam Ali As-Shobuni and Imam Abu Hanifah. People who do not have a clear gender status, not male and not female, are called khuntsa in Islamic law. One of the problems of khuntsa is in determining the right of inheritance. The Qur'an does not clearly state the portion of khuntha inheritance. This study concludes that in the unclear gender of khuntsa, it can be determined by two things, namely first, signs of maturity and second, where does urine come from. This argument is put forward using the istidlal theory used by Imam Ali As-Shobuni and Imam Abu Hanifah. If a khuntsa has a clear gender status, then this status follows the law of inheritance

AbstractCommencing in 1956, observations made at Halley Research Station, Antarctica provide one of the longest continuous series of near-surface temperature observations from the Antarctic continent. Since few other records of comparable length are available, the Halley record has been used extensively in studies of long-term Antarctic climate variability and change. The record does not, however, come from a single location but is a composite of observations from a sequence of seven stations, all situated on the Brunt Ice Shelf, that range from around 10 km to 50 km distance from the coast. Until now, it has generally been assumed that temperature data from all of these stations could be combined into a single composite record with no adjustment. Here, we examine this assumption of homogeneity. Application of a statistical change point algorithm to the composite record detects a sudden cooling associated with the move from Halley IV to Halley V station in 1992. We show that this temperature step is consistent with local temperature gradients measured by a network of automatic weather stations and with those simulated by a high-resolution atmospheric model. These temperature gradients are strongest in the coastal region and result from the onshore advection of maritime air. The detected inhomogeneity could account for the weak cooling trend seen in the uncorrected composite record. In future, studies that make use of the Halley record will need to account for its inhomogeneity.

Edmond Halley was a Londoner born and bred, he married into a London family and lived most of his life in or near London: London made his life and work possible. Halley’s public life is generally well known and documented, yet there are important gaps in the record. One was his survey and fortification of harbours in Dalmatia in 1703, at the direct command of Queen Anne, and his consequent election to the Savilian chair of geometry in 1704. 1 More generally, it has been recognized that Halley could not have done many of the things he did without influential support from powerful patrons. 2 In this article I suggest that the source of his patronage is to be found in his London connections. Halley moved in very influential circles from his schooldays at St Paul’s. He was in the party that chose the site of the Royal Observatory at Greenwich in 1675. 3 King Charles II himself promoted his expedition to St Helena and, on his return, Halley received the AM degree from Oxford at the command of Charles. It was Halley, rather than Pepys, the close associate of James II and President of the Royal Society, who presented Principia to the King. Halley seems at first to have come under suspicion from William III but had the support of Queen Mary for his later Atlantic and Channel cruises, on which, although a civilian, he was in command of Paramore and commissioned as a post-captain in the Royal Navy. His Adriatic surveys were at the direct command of Queen Anne. I believe that to understand how Halley could rely on such support we must look at his London background and connections, and in this article I consider his extended family, his links with the Tower and his associations with the London trading companies, in the early part of his life before he went to Oxford in 1704.

AbstractA comet is a highly dynamic object, undergoing a permanent state of change. These changes have to be carefully classified and considered according to their intrinsic temporal and spatial scales. The Rosetta mission has, through its contiguous in-situ and remote sensing coverage of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (hereafter 67P) over the time span of August 2014 to September 2016, monitored the emergence, culmination, and winding down of the gas and dust comae. This provided an unprecedented data set and has spurred a large effort to connect in-situ and remote sensing measurements to the surface. In this review, we address our current understanding of cometary activity and the challenges involved when linking comae data to the surface. We give the current state of research by describing what we know about the physical processes involved from the surface to a few tens of kilometres above it with respect to the gas and dust emission from cometary nuclei. Further, we describe how complex multidimensional cometary gas and dust models have developed from the Halley encounter of 1986 to today. This includes the study of inhomogeneous outgassing and determination of the gas and dust production rates. Additionally, the different approaches used and results obtained to link coma data to the surface will be discussed. We discuss forward and inversion models and we describe the limitations of the respective approaches. The current literature suggests that there does not seem to be a single uniform process behind cometary activity. Rather, activity seems to be the consequence of a variety of erosion processes, including the sublimation of both water ice and more volatile material, but possibly also more exotic processes such as fracture and cliff erosion under thermal and mechanical stress, sub-surface heat storage, and a complex interplay of these processes. Seasons and the nucleus shape are key factors for the distribution and temporal evolution of activity and imply that the heliocentric evolution of activity can be highly individual for every comet, and generalisations can be misleading.

ADVISING individuals with diseases of the heart on what types and intensities of sport to participate in is not a practice cardiologists typically have official guidelines on. A taskforce from ESC has now come together and created guidelines, the first of their kind, on exercise and sports participation in patients with cardiovascular disease. The guidelines were presented at the ESC Congress 2020 in a session chaired by Prof Antonio Pelliccia, Scientific Director of the Institute of Sports Medicine & Science from Rome, Italy. Pelliccia was joined by Prof Martin Halle, President of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC), Munich, Germany, and Prof Matthias Wilhem, Head of the Centre for Preventive Cardiology, Sports Medicine, Department of Cardiology at the Inselspital, University Hospital of Bern, Switzerland. The guidelines derived from the need to assist patients who had experienced cardiovascular events and were questioning their limits of sports participation. Prof Halle commented on his experience in the taskforce: “The level of evidence is rather low, so it is very much the personal perspective and the experience of the experts which made us come to that one conclusion in the guidelines. It is something that should be developed in years to come.” A series of videos were shown, presented by specialists who were invited to discuss some of the most relevant topics of the guidelines.

Three centuries ago Christiaan Huygens (then 58 years old) read Isaac Newton’s Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica . Since 1681 the Dutch scientist had lived and worked in the relative solitude of his residence at The Hague and in the family’s country-house Hofwijckat Voorburg near that city. Newton’s Principia had been published by 5 July 1687, when the astronomer Edmond Halley announced to Newton that the printing had been completed and that copies were being distributed (1). In June 1687 Huygens had learned about the forthcoming book through his young friend, the Swiss mathematician Nicolas Fatio de Duillier (1664—1753) (2). On 11 July 1687 he wrote to Fatio that he looked forward to seeing the book. Huygens did not care that Newton was not a Cartesian ‘pourveu qu’il ne nous fasse pas des suppositions comme celle de l’attraction’ (3).

Soumission à Epi-revel Six mois après que le président Trump ait pris ses fonctions à la Maison Blanche, peut-on constater une évolution de la politique étrangère américaine à travers les votes et les débats au Conseil de sécurité ? Il est sans doute trop tôt pour se prononcer car la mise en place de l’administration et en particulier du secrétariat d’Etat se révèle difficile. En effet, le Secrétaire d’Etat ne donne pas une véritable impulsion à la politique étrangère et se borne plutôt à l’administration du secrétariat alors que le rôle direct de l’entourage du président est considérable. Avec la nomination de Mme N.Haley comme représentant permanent des Etats Unis au Conseil de sécurité, quelques tendances semblent néanmoins se dessiner mais elles ne sont pas très originales. Entre le 20 janvier et le 30 juin 2017, le Conseil de sécurité a adopté 28 résolutions à l’unanimité et parfois sans véritable débat. Seuls deux projets de résolution, présentés entre autres par les Etats-Unis, n’ont pas été adoptés du fait du vote contre de la Russie. Ils concernaient tous les deux la situation en Syrie sur laquelle les positions des occidentaux et de la Russie sont pour l’instant inconciliables. Par contre, l’unanimité a été obtenue sur la lutte contre le terrorisme, sur les opérations de paix que les Etats-Unis souhaitent beaucoup plus efficaces mais également sur la question nucléaire posée par la Corée du Nord, même si Washington souhaite un engagement beaucoup plus important de la Chine. Alors que le président Trump mais également Mme Haley ont envisagé à plusieurs reprises la possibilité pour les Etats-Unis d’agir unilatéralement avec des moyens militaires, il semble cependant que le choix entre unilatéralisme et multilatéralisme mais également diplomatie et emploi de la force ne soit pas tranché. En Belgique, il a été l’aiguillon des amendements successifs aux règles de partage des compétences et de financement apportés depuis l’adoption de la Loi spéciale de financement des entités fédérées en janvier 1989. La prochaine réforme institutionnelle, qui portera sur les thèmes de l’heure, tels l’organisation du marché du travail, l’arrondissement Bruxelles-Halle-Vilvorde et les normes de bruit, devra aussi revoir le financement de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale, perçu aujourd’hui comme structurellement insuffisant. L’anticipation des difficultés budgétaires de la Région bruxelloise pourra être à la fois une raison pour accepter une nouvelle discussion institutionnelle et une source de compensations potentielles pour faciliter celle-ci. Derrière l’aridité du sujet et la modicité relative des sommes en jeu, les finances publiques bruxelloises sont donc de première importance dans le contexte politique actuel et donc pour l’avenir du fédéralisme belge.
 Le financement actuel de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale peut être vu commeinsuffisant en regard des besoins de la ville et de ses communes, notamment en matière d’intégration sociale, de formation, de rénovation urbaine et de transports en commun. Il peut aussi être vu comme insuffisant en regard des potentialités qu’un financement plus large permettrait d’exploiter pour tirer pleinement parti de la force d’attraction des villes dans un monde où la globalisation et le progrès technologique accentuent le rôle économique des villes. Octroyer plus de moyens à la Région bruxelloise servirait donc les causes sociale et environnementale et les intérêts financiers bien compris des autres Régions.
 Par ailleurs, les mécanismes de financement de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale sont aussi parfois considérés comme injustes. En effet, la ventilation entre Régions de la part qui leur est attribuée des recettes de l’IPP se base sur le lieu de résidence et non sur le lieu de génération de la base taxable. Bruxelles souffre également de divers manques à gagner importants (immunisation en matière de taxe immobilière des bâtiments des institutions internationales, fédérales et communautaires et non-assujettissement des fonctionnaires internationaux actifs à Bruxelles). De plus, Bruxelles doit faire face à des surcoûts associés au statut de grande ville, de capitale et d'Etat-Région, très imparfaitement compensés par les mécanismes correctifs actuels. Dès lors, il semble légitime que le financement de Bruxelles et ses communes soit revu ou, à tout le moins, que les mécanismes correctifs soient significativement intensifiés.
 Toutefois, une révision en profondeur du mode de financement de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale exigerait d’opérer un rééquilibrage dans les moyens de financement transférés aux Régions en faveur de Bruxelles. Outre la perte de moyens budgétaires pour les deux autres Régions, l’opposition à un meilleur financement de Bruxelles sera aussi politique puisque ce dernier accroîtrait structurellement l’autonomie de la troisième Région. Avec des finances étriquées, il est difficile pour Bruxelles de donner une image de Région bien gérée et de résister à un donnant-donnant, où des concessions politiques doivent être octroyées en échange de ballons d’oxygène budgétaires.
 En lieu et place d’un refinancement structurel au prix institutionnel potentiellement élevé, il faut envisager une alternative combinant une amélioration des mécanismes particuliers actuels de financement (accord Beliris, mainmorte, intervention de solidarité nationale, échevins flamands, politique des grandes villes) et une meilleure gestion de la Région, caractérisée notamment par des communes, une administration régionale et des institutions parapubliques à l’efficacité contestée. En matière de recettes, il faut également revoir les impôts régionaux et communaux pour en améliorer tant l’efficacité que l’équité (réduction des additionnels IPP, actualisation des revenus cadastraux, ajustement du précompte immobilier, portabilité des droits d'enregistrement, stimulants environnementaux, …).
 La Région de Bruxelles-Capitale est, dans une mesure significative, maîtresse de sa propre destinée. Même si elle reçoit des moyens structurellement inférieurs à ceux auxquels elle pourrait prétendre, la Région dispose de suffisamment de marge de manœuvre pour ne pas être condamnée à payer un refinancement structurel au prix d’une réforme institutionnelle qui entamerait l’autonomie de la troisième Région, ce qui desservirait non seulement ses habitants mais aussi rongerait la pierre angulaire du fédéralisme belge qu’est la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale.

Abstract Background Multidrug-resistant infections are challenging to treat, due to underlying patient conditions, pathogen characteristics, and high resistance rates to antibiotic treatments. Ceftazidime/avibactam (CAZ-AVI, approved in 2015) is approved to treat complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia, and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia. As newer antibiotic therapies come to market, limited data exist about their use in real-world practice. Therefore, we sought to describe the utilization of CAZ-AVI in clinical practice. Methods This national retrospective cohort study included hospitalized VA patients receiving CAZ-AVI from 2015 through 2021. Cultures, infection diagnoses, demographics, comorbidities, treatments, and clinical outcomes were assessed in this cohort. Results During the study period, 1,048 unique patients received CAZ-AVI, with a mean age of 71.5 (±11.9) years. The study cohort was predominantly male (98.3%) and White (66.2%, Black 27.7%). The most common organism-culture site combinations were Klebsiella-urine (19.6%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa-respiratory (14.0%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa-urine (10.1%), Escherichia coli-urine (6.9%) and Klebsiella-blood (6.9%). The median time to CAZ-AVI initiation from admission was 6 days, with a subsequent median 14-day hospital stay. Median length of CAZ-AVI therapy was 8 days. Most patients changed antibiotic therapy 3 times before starting CAZ-AVI. Treatment heterogeneity was high both prior to CAZ-AVI initiation (89.6%) and during CAZ-AVI treatment (85.6%). The most common concomitant antibiotic therapies during CAZ-AVI treatment were vancomycin (41.4%), meropenem (24.1%), cefepime (15.2%), and piperacillin/tazobactam (15.2%). Inpatient mortality in this cohort was 23.6%, and about one-third of patients had a subsequent hospitalization with CAZ-AVI treatment (35.1% in 2021). Conclusion Utilization of CAZ-AVI increased from 2015 to 2018 and has since stabilized in the national VA Healthcare System. CAZ-AVI has been utilized in complex, difficult-to-treat patients with substantial treatment heterogeneity and variation in causative organism-culture site. Disclosures Aisling R. Dress, clothes, and accessories receive and give meaning through their nearness to the human body. As P. Stallybrass writes: “Bodies come and go: the clothes that have received those bodies survive.” It is through the close interaction between dress and person that they both receive their meaning. Clothes shape the human body, and we in return shape our clothes. Dress communicates class, gender, nationality, and marital status, and we leave behind parts of us in its smell, wrinkles, wear, and tear: “Clothes receive the human imprint.” Archaeological and historical dress — no matter how ancient — remain intrinsically linked to their wearers. These are objects of use, affection, value, and memory, and through the study of the dress of past people, we may wear their habits and inhabit their spaces however briefly. The visual appearance of people, in more recent times as well as throughout history, is a clear marker of identity and an important communication medium. For this reason, costume and jewelry serve as an “anchor point” to involve people of the 21st century in studies of the life of prehistoric and ancient societies. This is worth considering, as archaeological textile research needs a strong commitment to public outreach and education, as well as to be integrated into the challenges of our time and to participate in current debates. Through the lens of deep history, it can inspire people to think about such questions as identity, resource use, and shared heritage, among others. Dissemination of textiles and clothing for the broader public in museums is realized through various channels. These range from the exhibition of individual objects, such as textiles, garments, jewelry, and dress accessories, to virtual recreations, and encompasses workshops, citizen science projects for the recreation of historical garments, media-effective historical fashion shows, and reinterpretations of aspects of historical garments through contemporary fashion. This remains an ongoing process, since the interpretation of the past will never be complete, and every generation formulates new approaches. The EuroWeb COST Action (2020–2024) serves as an innovative hub to gain understanding of historical as well as recent dress identities. For this contribution, different aspects of the history of fashion from various museums have been selected as case studies, to demonstrate the wide span of possibilities for displaying and experiencing Dress Identities. Our journey starts with Etruscan jewelry as displayed at the Staatliche Antikensammlungen in Munich (Germany), leading to Early Medieval dress, recreated from various sources as a physical dress ensemble as well as a virtual one, and used for science communication at the Natural History Museum Vienna (Austria) and Halle an der Saale (Germany). As both of the first examples derive from archaeological contexts, we do not have complete garments. This was why we also wanted to explore the possibilities for dissemination of “folk historic costumes”, like a traditional mourning dress as displayed at the Museum Amager (Denmark).

Israël est un pays complexe et les anthropologues qui en font l’étude le savent bien (Dominguez 1989; Marx 1980; Motzafi-Haller 2018). La plus grande partie de l’anthropologie en Israël a jusqu’à présent été réalisée par des anthropologues juifs, hommes et femmes, ashkénazes (principalement d’ascendance européenne du nord et de l’est d’Europe) et mizrachi (principalement d’origine nord-africaine, ibérique et du Moyen-Orient). Les juifs ashkénazes ont largement prédominé dans les domaines politique, universitaire, économique et artistique au cours des premières décennies qui ont suivi la création de l'État d'Israël, ce pays qui vient de fêter ses 70 ans. Il n'est donc pas surprenant qu’on y retrouve beaucoup plus d'anthropologues juifs ashkénazes que d’anthropologues juifs Mizrachim ou d’anthropologues palestiniens. La plupart des anthropologues en Israël sont des anthropologues sociaux ou socioculturels (Abuhav 2015). Certains d’entre eux sont des anthropologues praticiens / appliqués qui travaillent dans les ministères de l’éducation, de la santé et de l’absorption des immigrants juifs et qui ont font partie d’une association d’anthropologie appliquée. Mais beaucoup n’adhèrent à aucune association. L'archéologie, partie des quatre champs de l’anthropologie selon la conception américaine de cette dernière, n'est pas considérée comme une carrière anthropologique en Israël, même si elle y est considérée comme une discipline visible et importante. On trouve la présence d’anthropologues médicaux et biologiques en Israël, mais ils ne sont certainement pas la majorité et ils sont rarement embauchés par les départements de l'université ou du collège dans lesquels travaillent la plupart des anthropologues universitaires. Jusqu'à récemment, tous ces départements étaient dans les faits des départements de sociologie et d'anthropologie, composés d’une majorité de sociologues. Ce n'est que depuis 5 ans qu'un département entièrement composé d’anthropologues a vu le jour, soit le département de l'Université de Haïfa qui se consacre au niveaux supérieurs de formation. L’association d’anthropologie d’Israël ((HaAguda HaAntropologit HaYisraelit)) remonte au début des années 1970 et n’a compté jusqu’à présent que des anthropologues juifs comme chefs ou présidents. Des efforts ont été faits pour changer cette situation au fil des ans, car tous les membres de l’Association ne sont pas juifs et certains d’entre eux croient fermement qu’ils ne doivent pas tous être juifs. Cette question demeure délicate pour certains des membres les plus en vue de la communauté anthropologique en Israël, citoyens d’Israël mais également Palestiniens (Kanaaneh 2002; Sa’ar 2016). Alors que l’association d’anthropologie d’Israël s'oppose largement à l'occupation de la Cisjordanie et à toute forme de discrimination à l'encontre des Palestiniens, en particulier de ses concitoyens, cette organisation est toujours israélienne et a toujours été une association fortement juive. En fait, ce n’est que récemment que la plupart des départements universitaires israéliens ont engagé des Arabes, des Palestiniens, voire des musulmans, en tant que membres du corps enseignant. Pour les quelques Palestiniens qui occupent actuellement ces postes dans des universités ou des collèges israéliens, les postes de direction de l'association anthropologique israélienne les laisseraient ouverts à la critique selon lesquelles ils seraient simplement des collaborateurs ou des complices des sionistes israéliens qui considèrent Israël comme un pays réservé aux juifs et un pays réalisé par les juifs dont les valeurs morales l'obligent à être tolérant envers les non-Juifs parmi eux. Ainsi, une nouvelle association appelée Insaniyyat a simplement été créée ces dernières années pour et par des anthropologues palestiniens Pendant des années et avant la date de la fondation de l’association (1973) l’anthropologie a été enseignée aux niveaux universitaire dans toutes les grandes universités israéliennes et les étudiants ont obtenu un baccalauréat en sociologie et en anthropologie, une maîtrise en anthropologie et un doctorat en anthropologie en Israël. Le corps professoral et les étudiants israéliens font des recherches, présentent leurs travaux lors de conférences et pratiquent périodiquement des activités d'anthropologie engagée ou de plaidoyer. La qualité de leurs recherches et de leurs publications est généralement élevée, et les universités s'attendent à de nombreuses publications dans des revues savantes internationales de haute qualité destinées à toute personne considérée pour une promotion et une permanence. Pendant des années aussi, l'anglais a été fortement enseigné et fortement favorisé à la fois dans la communauté universitaire en général en Israël et dans la communauté anthropologique israélienne en particulier. En fait, la publication en hébreu dans des revues israéliennes n'a pas autant de valeur que celle dans des revues de langue anglaise au Royaume-Uni, aux États-Unis, en Australie ou au Canada. Une partie de cette tendance est valable pour les universités israéliennes en général, mais une autre est spécifique à l'anthropologie en Israël. Au fil des ans, plusieurs influences ont marqué l'anthropologie en Israël. Le regretté professeur Shmuel Eisenstadt (1967), qui a marqué la sociologie et l'anthropologie en Israël, en particulier dans son département d'origine à l'Université hébraïque de Jérusalem, compte parmi celles-la. Pendant bon nombre d'années, ce professeur a été nommé à Harvard (pendant six mois) alors qu'il était également à l'Université hébraïque de Jérusalem. Ce professeur se croyait autant anthropologue que sociologue et considérait l'anthropologie comme une branche de la sociologie, cela bien que ce n’était généralement pas l’opinion des anthropologues qu’il était disposé à engager comme professeurs dans ce même département. Sa connexion à Harvard était importante. C’est vers les États-Unis qu’il s’est tourné en ses qualités de sociologue et d’anthropologue, mais aussi que sur l’organisation de l’enseignement supérieur en Israël. Ce n’était pas l’Allemagne, la Pologne, la France, l’Italie ou tout autre pays imaginable. Ce n’est donc pas un hasard si ce chercheur a privilégié les publications en anglais et plus particulièrement aux États-Unis. La deuxième influence importante qui a marqué l’anthropologie israélienne a été celle de la Manchester School dirigée par Max Gluckman, un juif sud-africain émigré en Angleterre à l’origine de ce puissant département d'anthropologie à l'Université de Manchester en Angleterre. Gluckman a formé des anthropologues à Manchester pour effectuer des travaux d'anthropologie sociale en Israël, et certains de ses plus importants étudiants sont restés en Israël et y sont devenus professeurs d'anthropologie sociale. Une troisième influence sur le développement de l'anthropologie en Israël fut le sionisme travailliste lui-même. Des juifs d'autres pays sont venus s'installer en Israël pour participer au développement d'un Israël à tendance socialiste dans les années 1950 et 1960. Certains d'entre eux étaient des anthropologues titulaires d'un doctorat de pays anglophones (ou dominants anglophones), comme les États-Unis, le Royaume-Uni, Canada, l’Australie, l’Afrique du Sud et la Nouvelle-Zélande. Pendant de nombreuses années, peu de postes de professeur d’anthropologie dans des universités israéliennes ont été occupés par des Israéliens nés dans le pays, et certainement pas par des anthropologues n’ayant jamais étudié dans un pays anglophone, suivi une formation postuniversitaire dans un pays anglophone ou encore terminé au moins un postdoc dans un pays anglophone. Quand des collègues qui sont des rédacteurs de revues anglophones en anthropologie aux États-Unis, au Royaume-Uni ou au Canada font une remarque sur le nombre de manuscrits qu’ils reçoivent d’anthropologues israéliens et sur leur qualité, je souris. Les anthropologues israéliens publient en dehors d’Israël parce que leur université accorde plus d’importance, en particulier dans les articles de revues, et que leurs textes sont bons (c’est-à-dire que leurs problèmes sont familiers et qu’ils respectent les normes des articles de journaux aux États-Unis), car ils ont en grande partie été formés et par des anthropologues anglophones. Une génération plus jeune est maintenant moins à l'aise de publier ou de présenter ses recherches en anglais, parce que l'anglais n'est pas la langue maternelle des anthropologues israéliens, mais le fait demeure qu'ils lisent des livres et des articles en anglais tout au long de leurs études universitaires. Il faut mentionner que peu de livres ou d'articles académiques sont traduits de l’anglais vers l’hébreu. Quoi que les conférences et conversations universitaires soient en hébreu, de nombreux livres et articles qu'ils sont censés lire sont en anglais. Quels sont les champs et thèmes de recherche privilégiés par ces anthropologues ? Sans surprise, ils travaillent sur une variétés de sujets, mais aussi, sans surprise, on note quelques changements au fil des ans (Feldman 2008; Levy et Weingrod 2004; Markowitz 2013). Les premières vagues d'anthropologues en Israël avaient tendance à travailler sur des groupes d'immigrants juifs non ashkénazes en Israël ou sur des communautés non juives vivant en Israël. Pour la plupart, ils ont étudié les kibboutzim et les moshavim ou villes de développement en Israël. Cette tendance s’est partiellement modifiée dans les années 1980 et 1990, mais la plupart des anthropologues israéliens travaillent encore largement sur le terrain en Israël et non en dehors d’Israël. L'adaptation et l'intégration des nouveaux arrivants ne sont plus des thèmes dominants. D’autres thèmes de recherche apparaissent tels que les LGBTQ, les New Agers en Israël, certains se penchent sur la science et la technologie en Israël, d’autres sur la reproduction et sa politique en Israël, sur le néolibéralisme en Israël ou encore les tribunaux de conversion en Israël. Les autres sujets prédominants sont l'anthropologie médicale et psychologique, la jeunesse, le féminisme et le genre, et ainsi que les études environnementales. L'anthropologie israélienne interroge de nombreux aspects de la vie en Israël. Elle se considérait de gauche dans les premières décennies d’Israël (quand Israël avait un gouvernement à tendance socialiste) comme c’est toujours le cas aujourd’hui (malgré le mouvement connu d’Israël vers la droite) (voir Lomsky-Feder et Ben-Ari 2000). L'anthropologie israélienne a longtemps été influencée par l'anthropologie dans le monde anglophone et aucun signe n’indique que cela soit en train de changer. L’anthropologie israélienne a longtemps été centrée sur la vie en Israël (juive et arabe) ; bien que les thèmes de recherche aient tendance à se diversifier, et encore là tout indique que cette tendance se poursuit, même si davantage d’anthropologues israéliens travaillent dorénavant sur terrains en dehors d’Israël. Les anthropologues israéliens ont reçu une formation rigoureuse à tous les niveaux de leurs études universitaires, et je vois que cela continue. Reste à savoir si les juifs et les palestiniens trouveront davantage de collaborations que ce que l’on constate aujourd’hui. Lorsque la communauté anthropologique américaine a sérieusement envisagé le mouvement BDS (mouvement britannique de boycott, désinvestissement et sanction face à Israël) (voir Redden 2016) les anthropologues israéliens se sont préparés au boycott qu'ils attendaient des départements, revues et maisons d'édition anthropologiques américains. Ils ont également subi un peu de pression (de leurs universités et de leurs collègues) pour combattre le BDS. Beaucoup s'inquiètent de l'impact du BDS sur la communauté anthropologique israélienne. Rétrospectivement, c’est un signe vraiment visible de la manière dont la communauté anthropologique israélienne a été liée - et continue de l’être - à la communauté anthropologique américaine. Certains[DVR1] [DVR2] [DVR3] [DVR4] anthropologues israéliens de la première génération craignent que la jeune génération ne fasse plus de travail sur le terrain en immersion totale et, partant, que l'anthropologie disparaisse bientôt de la vie et du monde universitaire israéliens, mais je vois des continuités tout autant que des changements dans l'anthropologie israélienne, et je ne pense pas que l'anthropologie est susceptible de disparaître en Israël.

Es verpflichtet Informationseinrichtungen, den aktuellen Entwicklungen und der Zeit auf den Fersen zu bleiben. Was bedeutet dies auf der alltäglich pragmatischen Ebene für eine überschaubare Fachhochschulbibliothek? Eine, die mit wenigen Ressourcen ausgestattet als Showcase, repräsentativer Raum, Boutique sich gut „verkaufen“ muss, um en vogue oder einfach nur relevant und interessant für Stakeholder, Nutzer sowie Mitarbeiter zu bleiben? Auf dem Campus der berlinnahen Informationseinrichtung wird seit dem Neubezug einer denkmalgeschützten Verladehalle 2007 versucht, dem gewinnenden Charme und anmutigen Ambiente des Porticus auch eine herausragende Rolle als Innovations-Hub für die Hochschule und Bibliotheken im Allgmeinen über gelebte neue Ideen abzugewinnen. Sie betreffen sowohl technische Lösungen in Bezug auf RFID, Visualisierung, Automatisierung und Software, aber auch Formate für Veranstaltungen und Weiterbildung. Was ist aber hierfür nötig, um das Neue, gekauft oder selbst gezimmert, immer wieder einfliessen zu lassen und sich mit dem Profil der tatkräftigen und kreativen Avantgarde zu identifizieren? Der Beitrag wird versuchen, das Umfeld dafür zu beleuchten, um Innovationen als selbstverständliche Erwartungshaltung reifen zu lassen. Der deskriptive Ansatz soll nach keineswegs vollständiger Reflexion eigener Bemühungen prima facie Anregung geben dazu, wie im öffentlichen Dienst und ohne direkte Tuchfühlung zu „schwarzen Zahlen“ eine Firmenkultur Einzug halten kann, die bei entsprechender Erwartungshaltung das Unvorhersehbare für sich höher einschätzt als das Vertraute. Es ist ein Plädoyer für das offene System, ein Hoch auf Veränderung und Neues, ohne damit in eine willkürliche Vielfalt zu geraten. Warum kann das werbende Motto der FH Münster „Bei uns dürfen Sie spielen“ nicht auch für Informationseinrichtungen greifen?The mantra of service development and customer orientation on the one hand and a commitment to effectiveness and efficiency in managing all business workflows on the other hand have become commonplace. It forces information institutions to remain up-to-date concerning the latest developments. What does this mean for a manageable technical college library or a typical library of a technical university of applied sciences on an everyday pragmatic level? How can an understaffed department library sell itself as showcase, representative space or even boutique to its target groups (stakeholders, users as well as employees) to remain en vogue or simply remain relevant and attractive for them. On the campus of the Brandenburgische Hochschulbibliothek that is located nearby Berlin, efforts are being put into not only taking account of the appealing charm and graceful ambience of the portico of the loading facility, a listed building that the library moved into in 2007, but also establishing the library as a leading innovation hub for the whole campus and library network where ideas and visions become reality. This includes both technical solutions (regarding subjects such as RFID, visualization, automation and software), as well as formats for events and advanced training. However, what is needed to constantly implement new products – developed in-house or bought – and identify oneself with the profile of energetic and creative avant-garde? This contribution will attempt to illuminate the environment that naturally facilitates and promotes innovation efforts. The descriptive approach chosen here shall illustrate how a corporate culture that places greater value on the unforeseeable and new than on familiar routines can be implemented into public service in order to transform the latter into an institution that takes risks and enables innovations and new outcomes. This contribution is a plea for an open system, a praise for changes and innovations without falling prey to random transformations. It is thus ultimately a call for the staff of information institutions to take to heart the advertising slogan of the UAS Münster: Feel free to play (Bei uns dürfen Sie spielen).Le mantra du développement du service et de l’orientation à la clientèle, ainsi que l’obligation d’efficacité de la marche ordinaire des affaires est devenu un lieu commun. Cela contraint les institutions de l’information à être à la hauteur des développements actuels. Qu’est-ce cela signifie au niveau pragmatique pour une bibliothèque d’une haute école spécialisée? Une bibliothèque disposant de peu de ressources, devant se « vendre » comme showcase, espace représentatif, boutique, pour être en vogue ou simplement rester pertinente et intéressante pour les stakeholders, les utilisateurs et les employés? Cela, sur le campus d’une institution de l’information se trouvant près de Berlin, installée depuis 2007 dans une halle de chargement classée monument historique, signifie essayer de conjuguer le charme attrayant et l’ambiance légère de l’endroit avec des projets innovateurs et jouer un rôle de premier plan pour permettre à des idées nouvelles de se développer dans la haute école spécialisée et dans la bibliothèque. Cela concerne aussi bien des solutions techniques en rapport avec RFID, la visualisation, l’automation, les logiciels que les formats pour des manifestations et la formation continue. Qu’est-ce qui est dans ce cas nécessaire pour que le nouveau, acheté ou élaboré soi-même, puisse sans cesse s’imposer et s’identifier au profil d’une avant-garde créative et dynamique? Cette contribution essaie d’éclairer l’environnement nécessaire pour que l’innovation soit ressentie comme une attitude d’attente évidente. L’approche descriptive propose des pistes de réflexion sur la culture d’entreprise dans le service public qui n’est pas en contact direct avec des « chiffres noirs », sur les tentatives de stimuler une culture qui estime plus le risque et l’imprévisible que le quotidien. C’est un plaidoyer pour un système ouvert, une invitation au changement sans pour autant tomber dans une diversité arbitraire. Pourquoi la devise de la haute école spécialisée de Munster, « chez nous vous pouvez jouer », ne s’appliquerait-elle pas aux institutions de l’information?
