Résumé :
Platinum-based anticancer drugs are most likely the most successful group of bioinorganic compounds. Their apparent disadvantages have led to the development of anticancer compounds of other noble metals, resulting in several ruthenium-based drugs which have entered clinical trials on oncological patients. Besides ruthenium, numerous rhodium complexes have been recently reported as highly potent antiproliferative agents against various human cancer cells, making them potential alternatives to Pt- and Ru-based metallodrugs. In this review, half-sandwich Rh(III) complexes are overviewed. Many representatives show higher in vitro potency than and different mechanisms of action (MoA) from the conventional anticancer metallodrugs (cisplatin in most cases) or clinically studied Ru drug candidates. Furthermore, some of the reviewed Rh(III) arenyl complexes are also anticancer in vivo. Pioneer anticancer organorhodium compounds as well as the recent advances in the field are discussed properly, and adequate attention is paid to their anticancer activity, solution behaviour and various processes connected with their MoA. In summary, this work summarizes the types of compounds and the most important biological results obtained in the field of anticancer half-sandwich Rh complexes.

Résumé :
A series of four novel halosilylsubstitued monocyclopentadienyl titanium complexes; [Si(CH3)2FCp]TiCl3 – FSiTTC, [Si(CH3)F2Cp]TiCl3 F2SiTTC, [Si(CH3)Cl2Cp]TiCl3 - Cl2SiTTC, [Si(CH3)2ClCp]TiCl3 - ClSiTTC was tested as catalytic precursors for polymerization of styrene in toluene. The maximum polymerization activity was achieved after polymerization period of 20 minutes. Activity decreased in order FSiTTC/MAO > F2SiTTC/MAO > Cl2SiTTC/MAO > ClSiTTC /MAO. Prepared polystyrenes were characterized using 13C NMR spectroscopy and DSC analysis. Syndiotacticity index of obtained PSs was determined by means of Soxhlet extraction with butan-2-one as solvent. Syndiotacticity indexes of PSs obtained by investigated catalysts possessed higher values then those obtained by standard catalysts (CpTiCl3 a Cp*TiCl3) at comparable polymerization conditions.

Résumé :
This thesis describes some chemistry of [(mes)RuC12]2, [(Cp)RuCl(CO)2] and [(Cp*)RhCl2]2 complexes and in particular, the reactions with biologically relevant ligands. Chapter one introduces the general chemistry of arene-ruthenium and pentamethylcyclopentadienyl-rhodium from early work described by Winkhaus and Singer in the preparation of half-sandwich arene-rathenium complex [(C6H6)RuCl2(PPh3)] and the contributions on the reactions of [(Cp*)RhCl2]2 reported by Maitlis and co-workers. The second half of the introduction discusses the introduction and uses of inorganic complexes as anti-tumour agents. Chapter two describes the reactions of amino acids with potentially coordinating side chains with [(mes)RuCl2]2 and the characterisation of the amino acidate complexes formed. The crystal structure of the complex [(mes)RuCl(phgly)] has been determined and a high temperature 1H n.m.r. spectrum has been obtained. Chapter three describes the preparation and characterisation of a number of pyranato and pyridinato complexes of arene-ruthenium and Cp*-rhodium. A low temperature 1H n.m.r. spectrum was obtained for the complex [(Cp*)RhCl(etmalt)] and conductivity experiments were obtained which indicate that the complexes exist in water as a mixture of water or chloride co-ordinated species. Chapter four describes the reactions of a number of half-sandwich complexes of ruthenium and rhodium with nucleobases to determine the binding site(s) involved in co-ordination. A set of competition reactions were undertaken to determine any preference of the complex [(mes)RuCl(phgly)] for the various nucleobases. We have found that for this ruthenium complex, guanosine forms the most stable complexes with thymidine and uridine forming the least stable.

Résumé :
The vibrations of and the sound radiation from sandwich beams with truss core are here analyzed. The structure of the core is composed of a sequence of identical unit cells repeating along the beam length and across the core thickness. Each cell is composed of beam elements assembled to form a frame structure. Layouts with honeycomb patterns arranged through the thickness of the core are considered. This design represents an alternative with respect to the traditional application of honeycombs in sandwich construction. The proposed configuration provides sandwich beams with interesting structural as well as acoustic characteristics. A spectral finite element model is developed to evaluate the structural and the acoustic behavior of the considered class of sandwich beams. The spectral model can be easily coupled with a Fourier Transform based analysis of the sound radiated by the fluidloaded structure. The model predicts the performance of beams with various core configurations. The comparison is carried out in terms of vibration and sound radiation in an unbounded acoustic half-plane. Hexagonal and re-entrant honeycomb configurations are considered to study the effects of core geometry on structural response and acoustic radiation.

Résumé :
Abstract Sandwich structures have been widely used as thermal and load-bearing materials in astronautic and aeronautic applications. owing to their advantages of high specific strength and stiffness. Among them, the X-type lattice cored sandwich panel has a superior thermal performance, with a larger pressure drop. In order to solve the disadvantage of higher pressure drop of the X-type lattice, this paper propose a new structure of helix lattice sandwich panel by modifying the structure of the X-type lattice at a similar porosity level. Forced convection of air in the helix lattice sandwich panel was numerically studied based on the validated model in available literature. The flow and heat transfer characteristics between the helix lattice and X-type lattice were compared. Results reveal that the fluid flow pattern of the helix lattice and the X-type lattice have similarities and differences. The similarity is that both of them cause a spiral type of flow and two same type of secondary flow, the difference is that compared with X-type lattice, the smaller blockage of flow area by the ligaments of the helix lattice leads to a large smooth mainstream. Besides, the overall Nusselt number of the helix lattice is slightly lower than that of X-type one with an average value of 6.69% at a certain Reynolds number, the same material thermal conductivity and similar porosity level. Although the flow pattern in the helix lattice is similar to that in X-type lattice, the smooth mainstream in the helix lattice inevitably limited the flow mixing which lead to a lower area-averaged Nusslet number on both the substrates and the ligaments relative to X-type one. However, in terms of pressure drop, the helix lattice is significantly lower than the X-type lattice due to smaller flow area blockage and smooth ligament structure, which is reduced by nearly half. The helix lattice core sandwich panel can maintain a high level heat transfer performance with little loss of pressure drop. For a given pumping power, the helix lattice outperforms X-type lattice by up to 6.65%. Furthermore, as the pumping power increases, the heat transfer performance of the helix lattice will be better than X-type lattice. Therefore, it can be considered that the helix lattice core sandwich panel solves the disadvantage of relatively high pressure drop in the X-type lattice, greatly reduced the pressure drop and the required pumping power with less heat transfer performance loss. The helix lattice core sandwich panel has a superior comprehensive heat transfer performance than X-type one.

Résumé :
FSAE is a competition in which engineering students are asked to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with small, formula style, autocross racing cars ([1]). To give teams the maximum design flexibility and the freedom to express their creativity and imaginations there are very few restrictions on the overall vehicle design. DynamiΣ team (from Politecnico di Milano) has designed and optimized a new leaf spring suspension that allows to significantly reduce the weight and lower the centre of gravity of traditional suspensions that are based on linear dampers and coil springs. In fact, besides being extremely adjustable, the proposed leaf spring suspension weights a half, being made of carbon fiber and aluminum sandwich, and lowers the centre of gravity of the suspension system, being placed below the vehicle frame.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
We present a simple method for characterizing polarization retarders based on the fact that a retarder of a given thickness will have a phase retardation Δϕ that varies with wavelength. In fact, Δϕ is directly proportional to the thickness and birefringence of the material and inversely proportional to the wavelength. If the retarder is placed between two polarizing filters (either parallel or crossed), the transmitted intensity will be colored as a result of this variation. A spectral transmission curve of this sandwich can be obtained from a spectrophotometer, and the resulting data are very easy to interpret. The curve will be sinusoidally varying function of the optical frequency, and the frequency of this variation depends on the retardation. The wavelengths where the transmission is a maximum, a minimum, or one-half, respectively, correspond to the wavelengths at which the retardation has a value of a full wave, a halfwave, or a quarterwave.

Résumé :
The diagnosis of prethrombotic states requires methods which detect products of intravasal activation of the coagulation cascade.Two-side immunoassays for antithrombin complexes with clotting factors were developed (IXi-AT, Xi-AT, IIi- AT). These sandwich assays permit the diagnosis of hypercoagulability in the presence or absence of heparin. The biological half live time of the thrombin-antithrombin-complex was found to be about 15 min. Healthy young men 20-25 years old (n=30) have a thrombin-antithrombin-complex concentration of 0.4 ± 0.2 mU/ml thrombin equivalent (S 2238). Patients with acute myocardial infarction (n=40) showed at the time of admission to the hospital up to 10-fold (n=14), up to 100-fold (n=13) more than 100-fold (n=13) elevated thrombin-antithrombin-complex concentrations. Patients with gastrointestinal cancer showed sometime excessive elevated enzyme-inhibitor complexes. No correlation was found between thromboplastine time (Quick) and complex concentration in patients under anticoagulant therapy with dicumarole. In patients under dialysis as well as in patients under open heart surgery with extracorporal circulation, the biocompatibility can be monitored by inhibitor complex measurement.
