Résumé :
In this modern era, Muslimah fashion in Indonesia has become one of the fastest-growing sectors, making many consumers look for Muslimah fashion to follow this fashion trend. Muslim women in Indonesia have various tastes in wearing Muslim clothing. Muslim clothing known as the hijab now has many views with an interesting variety of creativity, so this has caused many Muslim women in various circles in Indonesia to wear the hijab for their daily clothes. This hijab business is a business that has a very small loss potential because the hijab is a product that is not easily damaged and does not spoil. Correct storage and skills in creating new variations and combining clothes and hijab with trendy styles will make the hijab sell well. The target market is not only adult women but various groups, ages, and social statuses because the modern hijab is now more flexible and can be combined with everyday clothes.

Résumé :
Functional complexity is a widespread and underresearched phenomenon in Web sites. This article explores a specific case of functional complexity by analyzing the content of UNESCO World Heritage Web sites, which have to meet demands from both World Heritage and tourism perspectives. Based on a functional analysis, a content checklist was developed and used to evaluate a sample of 30 World Heritage Web sites. The results show that World Heritage Web sites generally fall short in all content categories. A cluster analysis reveals three types of World Heritage Web sites based on their emphasis on World Heritage content versus tourism content: (a) less well-developed Web sites (no emphasis), (b) Web sites of World Heritage Sites with touristic possibilities (emphasis on World Heritage), and (c) Web sites of touristic attractions with outstanding cultural or natural value (emphasis on tourism). In all, the findings show that functional complexity poses serious threats to the exhaustiveness of a Web site’s information and that evaluation approaches based on functional analysis can be useful in detecting blindspots in the content provided.

Although corporate Web sites play many important roles in the modern business world, there is a surprising lack of empirical studies on their user interface. This study collected data from 50 Web sites owned by large international organizations. Analysis of the study's data: (1) provides an overview of the trends in corporate Web site design, (2) shows that many Web developers voluntarily adopt certain design conventions, and (3) indicates that most corporate Web sites do not make good use of multimedia capability. It further shows that, although some usability principles have been implemented, there is much room for improvement.

On the current scale of the Internet, the single web crawler is unable to visit the entire web in an effective time-frame. So, we develop a distributed web crawler system to deal with it. In our distribution design, we mainly consider two facets of parallel. One is the multi-thread in the internal nodes; the other is distributed parallel among the nodes. We focus on the distribution and parallel between nodes. We address two issues of the distributed web crawler which include the crawl strategy and dynamic configuration. The results of experiment show that the hash function based on the web site achieves the goal of the distributed web crawler. At the same time, we pursue the load balance of the system, we also should reduce the communication and management spending as much as possible.

We describe a general stochastic processes-based approach to modeling user-contributory web sites, where users create, rate and share content. These models describe aggregate measures of activity and how they arise from simple models of individual users. This approach provides a tractable method to understand user activity on the web site and how this activity depends on web site design choices, especially the choice of what information about other users' behaviors is shown to each user. We illustrate this modeling approach in the context of user-created content on the news rating site Digg.

Résumé :
This study reports the results of an experiment that examined alternative forms of web assurance for “B2C” e-commerce. Specifically, using a repeated measures design, variations in purchase intent were examined across four within-subjects web site conditions (two MP3 players and two digital cameras from different web sites) and five between-subjects assurance conditions (undirected or directed retailer disclosures, VISA, TRUSTe, and WebTrust™). The effects of assurance (present vs. absent) on purchase intent were studied relative to the roles of retailer disclosures, information risk (security, disclosure, and product risk), and familiarity (with the retailer and product). Control variables encompassing previous Internet and online purchase experiences, general intent to buy online, and web site design were also incorporated in the study. No differences in intent to purchase were found for the three assurance conditions and they were combined for further data analysis. Results indicate that higher intent to purchase is associated only with web assurance when consumers did not observe retailer disclosures and product familiarity was lower. When consumers did observe retailer disclosures, intent to purchase was not significantly associated with web assurance. Results also indicate that familiarity with vendor and information risk were not associated with intent to purchase. However, several of the control variables, including comfort with the Internet, general intent to buy online, and web site design, were significantly associated with higher intent to purchase.

Résumé :
This paper presents the Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE) approach for usability testing of a web-site based on ISO 9241-11 usability guidance to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. Usability testing is a technique used to evaluate a product by testing it on users. A particular type of website i.e. university web site was chosen and segmented in different components in modular forms according to the purpose of that component. Then component wise tasks as per ISO 9241-11 usability guidance were prepared to carry out the usability testing for evaluating the test web-site. After analyzing the results of component based usability testing, a proto-type version of the test web-site was designed in a limited form including all the feedback of test results. Finally, the proto-type web-site was re-evaluated for establishing the effectiveness of component based web usability method with the same tasks. The proposed component based usability testing method is expected to improve the design/content issues of web-site resulting the web-site much more user friendly, effective and less time and cost consuming.

Résumé :
"Traditionally, reading of energy meters is done by human operators who move from house to house collecting readings. This exercise requires huge labor operator numbers and a lot of time to achieve complete reading of meters in a particular area. This paper endeavors to do away with this problem by using a telemetering system. With this system, power can be measured from a remote site. To achieve this, readings from an energy meter on site are processed by a microcontroller device that then sends the energy consumption information to a Global System Mobile (GSM) module. The GSM module then sends this information using microwaves to a particular mobile subscriber who receives it in the form of an Short Message Service (SMS). The reading is also transmitted to a web based telemetering system through a server. In the remote site, a remote computer which can access the internet is able to obtain data from the server through the internet. The microcontroller is developed in such a way that it achieves communication between the energy meter and the particular server using Transmission Control Protocol(TCP) protocol. Software programs are also developed to facilitate transfer of data to the user at remote site. With the web based telemetering system connected to the internet, electrical energy measurements can be accessed globally. The efficiency of the transmission channel is important for the success of both SMS and web based telemetering systems. Keywords: Telemetering system, remote sites, GSM "

Résumé :
Over the years, human dependence on the Internet has increased dramatically. A large amount of information is placed on the Internet and retrieved from it daily, which makes web security in terms of online information a major concern. In recent years, the most problematic issues in web security have been e-mail address leakage and SQL injection attacks. There are many possible causes of information leakage, such as inadequate precautions during the programming process, which lead to the leakage of e-mail addresses entered online or insufficient protection of database information, a loophole that enables malicious users to steal online content. In this paper, we implement a crawler mining system that is equipped with SQL injection vulnerability detection, by means of an algorithm developed for the web crawler. In addition, we analyze portal sites of the governments of various countries or regions in order to investigate the information leaking status of each site. Subsequently, we analyze the database structure and content of each site, using the data collected. Thus, we make use of practical verification in order to focus on information security and privacy through black-box testing.

Résumé :
Purpose – Lesson study in the USA provides a space for teachers to discuss classroom teaching with a goal of improving student learning. In general, US teachers’ professional lives are constrained by a lack of time for planning and observation. Within a lesson study context, we designed and utilized a web site to support and extend collaboration among teachers of mathematics at 26 school sites across two school districts. The purpose of this paper is to describe the lesson study context and share results of the investigation and affordances of the web site. Design/methodology/approach – Through the use of a survey, discourse analysis, and grounded theory, we examined how teachers used the web site and how best to foster regular and inclusive participation. Findings – The results reveal the web site spans time and distance. A significant percentage of the teachers used the web site for accessing resources, while a smaller fraction of teachers used the web site to discuss pedagogy and students’ mathematical thinking. Originality/value – The work expands the descriptive knowledge base of lesson study efforts in the US with the hybrid lesson study model that addresses the time constraints of US teachers. Also, the work addresses the challenge of geographical distance associated with facilitating communication among teachers from multiple sites.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the extent to which accessibility is taken into account in the assessment and ranking of e-government web sites through the lens of a specific study related to Dubai e-government. Design/methodology/approach – The paper considers a case study related to Dubai e-government and it evaluates the accessibility of each of the 21 Dubai e-government web sites, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and using an automated accessibility testing tool. A bivariate correlation analysis is performed to assess the correlation between web site ranking and accessibility score. Findings – The research reveals that contrary to common intuition and some earlier studies, there is a weak correlation between e-government web site ranking score and web site accessibility. Research limitations/implications – The paper uses an accessibility metric that is a proxy indicator of web accessibility and is not a real assessment of accessibility as experienced by a person with disability. Practical implications – When re-examined through the lens of Rawls's moral theory, this research suggests that accessibility should be given a higher priority in the general evaluation and ranking of e-government web sites. Social implications – The paper promotes universal accessibility to e-government information and services. Originality/value – The paper uses ethical arguments to highlight the need to comprehensively consider accessibility as a major criterion in the assessment and ranking of e-government web sites.

This study aimed to analyze the effects arising from the e-store design and e-store content on impulse buying from OLX Indonesia users. This is due to the fact that there is a decrease of rating of Indonesia’s e-commerce sites and increase of OLX Indonesia user complaints. According to data Nusaresearch, popular brand index (PBI) e-commerce site in Indonesia from 2015 until 2017 continues to change. One of the e-commerce that experienced a noticeable drop was OLX Indonesia. Alexa.com's data also shows that OLX Indonesia's website traffic rankings continue to decline from 2014 to 2017. The variables used in this study is e-store design and e-store content as an independent variable, pleasure as an intervening variable and impulse buying as an dependent variable. The sample in this study were 206 respondents that came from the users of OLX Indonesia. The method used is purposive sampling by distributing questionnaires to the respondents (user). Based on the research of data processing using SEM, the result found that e-store design has positive and significant influence on users pleasure (as an intervening variable), e-store content has no influence on users pleasure (as an intervening variable) and pleasure has positive and significant influence on impulse buying.

Résumé :
Purpose – This paper aims to understand the interrelationships between the various factors that affect the use of course Web sites by university students in a developing country. The factors considered for the purpose of studying these interrelationships include perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived Web site credibility and Web site learning acceptance and satisfaction. Furthermore, a comparative study of the potential differences in perceptions between Indian and Omani students with respect to the aforementioned factors is also presented. Design/methodology/approach – A survey instrument was used to collect data from students. Based on an extensive literature review, this paper uses empirical research to analyze student satisfaction in relation to learning through course Websites. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, structural equation modeling and a t-test. Findings – Under the newly proposed construct, Web site credibility was found to be an important predictor of Web site learning acceptance and satisfaction, whereas perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were mediating variables. In the extended study that compared the relative perceptions of Indian and Omani students, a statistically significant difference in Indian and Omani students was observed for Web site learning acceptance and satisfaction. Practical implications – This study can provide valuable insights for decision-makers that will aid the development of more user-friendly course Web sites for higher education institutions and also promote higher levels of learning, satisfaction and greater course web site usage. Originality/value – This study is probably the first attempt made to observe students’ perceptions of learning via course Web sites in Oman. Furthermore, the use of perceived Web site credibility as a factor in understanding perceptions regarding course Web site learning is a unique feature presented by this paper that is seldom seen in the existing research literature.

Résumé :
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to improve the general operationalization of an “active patient,” by examining the specific activities and skills expected of active patients. Design/methodology/approach – Expected activities and necessary skills were studied through a qualitative case study into the development and use of an assistive technology (i.e. web site) aimed at stimulating active patient-ship. Interviews, observations and document analysis were used to capture and explore designers’ inscribing practices and their consequences regarding expected competences and activities of patients using the web site. Findings – Designers inscribed two “co-design roles” that active patients were expected to perform on the web site (co-designing their own healthcare and co-designing the healthcare of peers), for which at least eight different competencies were needed. The absence of skills or facilities to apply these skills resulted in incomplete use, a different use than intended by designers and non-use of the web site. Practical implications – Technological choices and inscribing processes determine who is able or facilitated to become active and who is not. Due to inscribed co-design roles, it also influences the extent to which already active peers are able to perform health-related activities. Different users with different conditions should be taken into account in the design as specific group characteristics can influence level of individual activity. Originality/value – This study is, as far as the authors know, the first that examines the “active patient” concept by studying an assistive technology and using scripting literature, resulting in an improved understanding of what it means to become “active” in terms of skills and activities.

Résumé :
Ongoing and methodologically rigorous management of resources in the information and library web-environment affects its efficient advance. The author examines the problems of the new stage of management in the area. She provides general characteristics and definition of the term “iManagement” (Internet-management), substantiates the scholarly and applied potential of analytical instruments of library web-resources. She also emphasizes that the competent use of the analytical instruments facilitates efficient analysis of web-resources in the digital environment. The selection of analytical instruments depends upon the resource type (official www-site, account, blog, conference www-site or library event web-page, etc.) and upon the target goals. Acquiring and analyzing webometrics with analytical instruments make one of the basic reorganization methods. The paper goal is to study ways of managing www-site contents with webometrical indicators and to design the generic cycle for managing library web-resources. The advantages of the single system of library web-resources management are identified. The stages of management cycle are characterized in brief, as well as their sequence, i. e. goal setting, monitoring, analysis, planning, control, and decision making.

Résumé :
ABSTRACT Providing accurate and timely information to the public following an oil spill event can be a challenging exercise for oil spill responders. In an event that generates a great deal of media and public interest, it is important to use a variety of communications tools to ensure the best and most credible response is given to interested parties including the general public, regulators, politicians, news media, local officials, and company shareholders and employees. In addition to timely and accurate company news releases, one of the most effective new tools that can be used to facilitate effective and efficient communication in any emergency including an oil spill event is the use of an event-specific Web site. Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has demonstrated the use of an oil spill Web site as part of its annual corporate oil spill drills and has received positive feedback from response partners at the state and federal level. In its demonstrations, FPL has been able to post near real-time communications that would contribute to the public's understanding of a spill event and response. The way that FPL uses its Web site is as part of a joint news center, operated in support of FPL's Incident Command System (ICS). The news center develops and disseminates oil spill response and recovery information using a variety of tools, of which the Web-based news center is the most recent addition. Using a joint news center—including an event-specific Web site—also minimizes the likelihood of potentially conflicting information by providing a common location for all the parties to prepare, review, and issue news related to an event. This paper identifies what the authors believe are the key elements necessary to set up and maintain an oil spill response Web site, including a description of ICS benefits, content, and design requirements and resources. Specific Web site ingredients also are noted including the posting of news releases, maps, photos, media advisories and fact sheets, environmental reports, and links to other relevant Web sites.

Résumé :
Abstract Context.—There are numerous customers for pathology departmental Web sites, including pathology department staff, clinical staff, residency applicants, job seekers, and other individuals outside the department seeking department information. Despite the increasing importance of departmental Web sites as a means of distributing information, no analysis has been done to date of the content and usage of pathology department Web sites. Objective.—In this study, we analyzed pathology department Web sites to examine the elements present on each site and to evaluate the use of search technology on these sites. Further, we examined the usage patterns of our own departmental Internet and intranet Web sites to better understand the users of pathology Web sites. Design.—We reviewed selected departmental pathology Web sites and analyzed their content and functionality. Our institution's departmental pathology Web sites were modified to enable detailed information to be stored regarding users and usage patterns, and that information was analyzed. Results.—We demonstrate considerable heterogeneity in departmental Web sites with many sites lacking basic content and search features. In addition, we demonstrate that increasing the traffic of a department's informational Web sites may result in reduced phone inquiries to the laboratory. We propose recommendations for pathology department Web sites to maximize promotion of a department's mission. Conclusions.—A departmental pathology Web site is an essential communication tool for all pathology departments, and attention to the users and content of the site can have operational impact.

The January 6, 2020 insurrection at the United States Capitol Building confirmed and challenged many people’s assumptions about how religion functions in society. As the events of that day continue to be reviewed by government officials, scholars, and public audiences, the Uncivil Religion Project has become an invaluable resource in those endeavors. Spearheaded by Prof. Mike Altman at the University of Alabama and Jerome Copulsky and Peter Manseau from the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, the collaborative web project is both a media-rich digital archive and scholarly anthology on this pivotal historical moment. Altman led a team of graduate students in the University of Alabama’s Religion in Culture MA program in the development of the site. Bulletin editorial assistant Erica Bennet interviewed Ciara Eichorst, Katie Johnson, and Phoebe Duke-Mosier to learn how this project not only took shape, but also impacted their education in the academic study of religion.

Résumé :
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the cross-effects of on-site sponsorship on online sponsorship effectiveness in communities. The research evaluates how members’ commitment to a sports-oriented community and attitude to brands providing sponsorship developed through sponsorship on-site, and sponsor-community fit, influence the effectiveness of online sponsorship measured as the intention to purchase the same brands online through sponsoring banners displayed on the community web site. Design/methodology/approach – Data were collected through a web-survey from a self-selected sample of 272 respondents belonging to non-professional sports communities. By drawing on the principal tenets of the theory of reasoned action, the authors developed a theoretical framework and tested it through a structural equation model to evaluate the role of attitude to sponsor brands developed through sponsorship on-site, and its antecedents, on the intention to purchase the same brands online through sponsoring banners exposed on the community web site. Findings – The attitude to sponsor brands developed through sponsorship on-site affects the intention to make online purchases of the same brands through sponsoring banners exposed on the web sites of non-professional communities. On the other hand, antecedents of sponsorship on-site, that is, sponsor-community fit and commitment to the community, affect the intention to purchase the same brands online through sponsor banners displayed on the community web site, with attitude playing a different mediating role. Practical implications – The research contributes to sponsorship literature by establishing the existence of cross-effects of on-site sponsorship on online sponsorship effectiveness and providing insights into the central role of commitment and attitude developed on-site. Managerially, non-professional communities emerge as attractive targets for multiple sponsorship investment owing to their on-site and online social interaction that offers managers an opportunity to exploit sponsorship cross-effects. Originality/value – The study contributes to the scant body of knowledge on the cross-effects of on-site sponsorship on online sponsorship and provides insights into the importance of communities as a beneficial target of sponsorship investment.

Résumé :
Abstract. The present article reviews web-based research in psychology. It captures principles, learnings, and trends in several types of web-based research that show similar developments related to web technology and its major shifts (e.g., appearance of search engines, browser wars, deep web, commercialization, web services, HTML5…) as well as distinct challenges. The types of web-based research discussed are web surveys and questionnaire research, web-based tests, web experiments, Mobile Experience Sampling, and non-reactive web research, including big data. A number of web-based methods are presented and discussed that turned out to become important in research methodology. These are one-item-one-screen design, seriousness check, instruction manipulation and other attention checks, multiple site entry technique, subsampling technique, warm-up technique, and web-based measurement. Pitfalls and best practices are described then, especially regarding dropout and other non-response, recruitment of participants, and interaction between technology and psychological factors. The review concludes with a discussion of important concepts that have developed over 25 years and an outlook on future developments in web-based research.
