The literature on far right parties emphasizes the importance of party organization for electoral persistence. Yet, a lot is still unknown about the organizational development of these parties. This article examines the microdynamics of organizational development and explores why some party organizations succeed and others fail. It focuses on the local rather than the national level and analyzes grassroots activities rather than party leadership, institutions, or members. To analyze organizational development, the article uses an original and unique data set of 3594 activities of the Greek Golden Dawn (GD) supplemented by interviews with the GD leadership and activists as well as with evidence from hundreds of newspaper reports. It uses this evidence to trace local party activism and to document variation in local organizational outcomes. To account for why some local party organizations succeed or fail, it suggests that, rather than solely following electoral logic, the organizational development of far right parties also relates to the way they respond to challenges from antifascist groups and state authorities.

Background: ‘Gaming Disorder’ (GD) has received increased medical attention and official recognition from both the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Although these two medical organizations have independently developed promising clinical diagnostic frameworks to assess disordered gaming, little is known about how these frameworks compare at different psychometric levels in terms of producing consistent outcomes in the assessment of GD. Methods: A sample of 1429 German gamers (Meanage = 29.74 years; SD = 12.37 years) completed an online survey including measures on different psychopathological symptoms (depression, loneliness and attention problems), gaming motives and disordered gaming according to the WHO and APA frameworks. Results: The findings suggest the existence of minor discrepancies in the estimation of prevalence rates of GD according among the two frameworks. Nevertheless, both diagnostic frameworks are fairly consistent in the psychometric prediction of GD in relation to gaming motives and psychopathological symptoms. The findings underscore the role of key gaming motives as risk factors and protective factors across both diagnostic frameworks. Finally, the study provides support for the WHO diagnostic framework for GD and its measurement with the German Gaming Disorder Test (GDT). The findings and their implications are further discussed in terms of clinical relevance.

The aims were to develop a scale capable of measuring this basic emergent process and to study the scale’s reliability and construct validity (content, factorial, convergent and criteria). Data concerning the GD, other related processes (<em>entitativity</em> and group identification) and team outputs (group performance and team effectiveness) were gathered from four successive studies (4099 participants belonging to 521 workgroups in 13 organizations). All the studies were carried out using a cross-sectional and correlational design. The results revealed an one-dimensional solution for the proposed measurement scale, which showed adequate reliability and validity. The scale is not only practical (quick and easy to apply) but also useful for group managers and leaders, since it provides them with a tool for determining the </span><span lang="EN-GB">extent</span><span lang="EN-US"> to which their groups are actually functioning as highly developed groups.</span></p>

The relevance of the problem under study is due to the fact that medicine has a special place in the cultural system, and its main task is to preserve people's life and health. The high-quality implementation of the national project "Healthcare", which across the country covers 70 subjects and hundreds of medical organizations of various forms of ownership, calls for the presence in medical organizations of a qualified specialist who meets all modern requirements – a coordinator for working with foreign patients as a link between a team of like-minded people on work with foreign citizens and patients themselves. Today, this knowledge is especially relevant due to the development of international cooperation and establishing contacts in the professional field, the exchange of scientific and practical achievements, strengthening the international reputation of Russian healthcare and the practical application of the principles of humanitarian diplomacy. Therefore, effective communication in the provision of medical services is impossible without knowledge of the cultural characteristics of peoples, which is especially important for medical professionals who must be extremely careful in communicating and providing medical care to foreign patients. Ultimately, the positive experience of a foreign patient has a direct impact on the volume of attracted extrabudgetary financing for the development of exports of medical services. In the contemporary business world, digital transformations have undergone vast and important developments over the last several decades, and they have aided in the development of the virtual team concept, in which geographically dispersed team members work to achieve a common goal. Virtual teams, according to the literature, suffer from process losses more frequently than their face-to-face counterparts. Although just a few studies have looked at the effects of individual differences in virtual teams, this study fills in the gaps by examining the impact of individual differences: age disparity (AD), gender disparity (GD), language competency (LC), and IT competency (ITC) from the management perspective on virtual team adaptation in the Sri Lankan private sector. A survey was used to collect data from a sample of 175 private sector companies in Sri Lanka during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the data was analyzed using partial least squares path modeling (PLS) to test the study’s hypotheses. The results indicated that the hypotheses were statistically significant only in the language competency and IT competency and their effects were in the expected direction. Future research could benefit from the perceptions of employees in public sector organizations.

Reaching the land-related UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and similar goals articulated by the EU Green Deal (GD) by 2030 presents a major challenge and requires a pragmatic approach focused on joint learning by land users (mostly farmers), researchers and other stakeholders in “Living Labs” and system experiments at experimental farms of research organizations. Defining specific indicators and thresholds for ecosystem services in line with land-related SDGs is crucial to establish “Lighthouses” that can act as inspiring examples if they meet the various thresholds. This exploratory paper discusses indicators and thresholds for an arable farm operating on marine, calcareous light clay soils in the Netherlands. Studies of a system experiment are used to discuss and test operational methodology to be widely applied when characterizing many “Living Labs” in future, as planned by the European Union. The important role of soils in contributing to ecosystem services is discussed in terms of soil health. Recommendations are made for innovative methodology to be associated with all land-related SDGs. Satisfying the thresholds of ecosystem services, which will vary by soil type, region and farm type, can be the basis for farm subsidies, such as the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Research on Living Labs and in system experiments has to be judged by different criteria than those associated with traditional linear research. The important contributions of soils to achieve ecosystem services are framed in terms of soil health and are the most effective way to promote soil science in a by now widely desired inter- and transdisciplinary context.

Introduction. The relevance of the problem under study is due to the fact that the medical services market, like any market structure, is regulated on the basis of competition among the involved medical organizations, the interaction of supply and demand, free pricing for various nosologies in the process of selling services. The medical services market has a unique specificity: high dynamism of all processes, relatively fast capital turnover, susceptibility to changes in market conditions, a high level of differentiation of services, and unclear outcomes. In addition, in the conditions of external sanctions pressure, the priority direction of the domestic economy is the development of non-commodity exports, in particular, the export of services, which includes the export of medical services. Since 2022, the Russian Government has been paying special attention to this area. The purpose of the study: to analyze the activities of eight federal districts in the pre-crisis period, contributing to the development of the export of medical services and to identify the leading federal districts that make the greatest contribution to the development of the export of medical services. Results and conclusion. The results of the study of eight federal districts of the Russian Federation in the doskovid period showed the process of formation of exports of medical services, the number of treated foreign citizens in these districts, earned income in millions of US dollars. The Central, Ural, and Northwestern Federal Districts are leading in this process, which is the current model for the rest of the federal districts. The study demonstrates the work of federal districts – in numbers, percentages, monetary terms in conventional units. Also presented are indicators indicating an increase in the volume of exports of medical services by at least 4 times compared to 2017, which amounted to an income of 128.38 million US dollars for 2019. AbstractBackground and aimsThe World Health Organization included gaming disorder (GD) in the eleventh revision of International Classification of Diseases in 2019. Due to the lack of diagnostic tools for GD, a definition has not been adequately applied. Therefore, this study aimed to apply an operationalized definition of GD to treatment-seekers. The relationship between the diagnoses of GD and Internet gaming disorder (IGD) in the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders was also examined. Methods: Study participants comprised 241 treatment-seekers who had engaged in excessive gaming and experienced related problems. Psychiatrists applied the GD diagnostic criteria to the participants using a diagnostic form developed for this study. Information on gaming behavior and functional impairment was obtained through face-to-face interviews conducted by clinical psychologists. Results: In total, 78.4 and 83.0% of the participants fulfilled the GD and IGD diagnostic criteria, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of GD diagnosis were both high when the IGD diagnosis was used as the gold standard. Participants with GD preferred online PC and console games, spent significantly more time gaming, and showed a higher level of functional impairment compared to those who did not fulfill the GD diagnostic criteria. Discussion and Conclusion: The definition of GD can be successfully applied to treatment-seekers with excessive gaming and related problems. A high concordance of GD and IGD diagnoses was found in those participants with relatively severe symptoms. The development and validation of a diagnostic tool for GD should be explored in future studies.

ABSTRACT Glycoprotein B (gB), gC, gD, and gH:L of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) are implicated in virus adsorption and penetration. gB, gD, and gH:L are essential for these processes, and their expression is necessary and sufficient to induce cell fusion. The current view is that these molecules act in concert as a functional complex, and cross-linking studies support this view (C. G. Handler, R. J. Eisenberg, and G. H. Cohen, J. Virol. 70:6067–6075, 1996). We examined the glycoprotein composition, with respect to gB, gC, gD, and gH, of mutant virions lacking individual glycoproteins and the sedimentation characteristics of glycoproteins extracted from these virions. The amounts of gB, gC, gD, or gH detected in virions did not alter when any one of these molecules was absent, and it therefore appears that they are incorporated into the virion independently of each other. The sedimentation characteristics of gB and gD from mutant virions were not different from those of wild-type virions. We confirmed that gB, gC, and gD could be cross-linked to each other on the virion surface but found that the absence of one glycoprotein did not alter the outcome of cross-linking reactions between the remaining molecules. The incorporation and arrangement of these glycoproteins in the virion envelope therefore appear to be independent of the individual molecular species. This is difficult to reconcile with the concept that gB, gC, gD, and gH:L are incorporated as a functional complex into the virion envelope.

The Ni-Mn-In alloy occur martensite reverse phase transitions driven by magnetic field in a certain composition range, resulting in the macroscopic strain, and along with the output of up to 108 MPa stress. However, there are some defects impeded practical application of alloy, such as brittleness and low Curie temperature. So, we will improve its mechanical properties by doping the suitable rare earth Gd elements in Ni-Mn-In alloy in this paper.In this paper, we study the microstructure, martensitic transformation and mechanical properties of Ni45.4Mn41.5-xIn13.1Gdx (x=0,0.2,0.5,1,2) magnetic shape memory alloy by DSC and Compression fracture strength and strain curve, which clarify the influence of Gd doping on martensitic phase transformation and mechanical properties of alloys.The studies have shown that the microstructure of the alloy changes from single organization into a mixed-phase structure of the matrix and the rich-Gd phase with the increasing of rare earth Gd content and martensitic transformation temperature of the alloys increases gradually with the increasing of Gd element content; The fracture strength and fracture strain increases first and then a decreasing trend with increasing the rare earth Gd elements. The result of the improved mechanical properties is the co-action of fine grain strengthening and second phase strengthening.

Il lavoro è stato suddiviso in tre macro-aree. Una prima riguardante un'analisi teorica di come funzionano le intrusioni, di quali software vengono utilizzati per compierle, e di come proteggersi (usando i dispositivi che in termine generico si possono riconoscere come i firewall). Una seconda macro-area che analizza un'intrusione avvenuta dall'esterno verso dei server sensibili di una rete LAN. Questa analisi viene condotta sui file catturati dalle due interfacce di rete configurate in modalità promiscua su una sonda presente nella LAN. Le interfacce sono due per potersi interfacciare a due segmenti di LAN aventi due maschere di sotto-rete differenti. L'attacco viene analizzato mediante vari software. Si può infatti definire una terza parte del lavoro, la parte dove vengono analizzati i file catturati dalle due interfacce con i software che prima si occupano di analizzare i dati di contenuto completo, come Wireshark, poi dei software che si occupano di analizzare i dati di sessione che sono stati trattati con Argus, e infine i dati di tipo statistico che sono stati trattati con Ntop. Il penultimo capitolo, quello prima delle conclusioni, invece tratta l'installazione di Nagios, e la sua configurazione per il monitoraggio attraverso plugin dello spazio di disco rimanente su una macchina agent remota, e sui servizi MySql e DNS. Ovviamente Nagios può essere configurato per monitorare ogni tipo di servizio offerto sulla rete.

The main purpose of the study is to formulate a model plan for KS among the LIS professionals in the selected public and private university libraries of Bangladesh. In accomplishing this purpose, the study advanced by generating three precise objectives and three research questions (RQs) on the basis of the literature reviewed. It also tested several hypotheses to find the answers to the RQs. In conducting this study; survey, quantitative, comparative and exploratory approaches were adopted. A pre-coded questionnaire was used to collect primary data from the sample drawn from the LIS professionals of the selected public and private university libraries through personal visit. The collected data were analyzed by applying frequency distribution, cross tabulation and descriptive statistical tools while the hypotheses were tested by applying Chi-square test and Mann Whitney U test based on the scale of measurement. The major findings of the study were the perceptions of the LIS professionals from the selected university libraries about the prerequisites for KS (intellectual capital, factors influencing KS, and KS skills); facilitators (KS process, KS methods, KS techniques, and KS tools) and barriers to KS; and consequences of KS (influences of KS on learning, feedback, and transferring knowledge after KS). In fact, this study proposed a model plan for KS among the LIS professionals in the selected university libraries of Bangladesh. The study has the potentiality for implementation in the practical field to introduce and/or transform the conventional and unorganized KS practices by a systematic and organized KS culture. The major limitations of the study are the selection of the university libraries situated only in Dhaka city, excluding the university library users from the population and not justifying the proposed model plan. Therefore the study suggested future research by selecting university libraries from different part of the country, including the user category in the population and attempting to justify the model plan.

The evolution of the scientific views concerning the problem of the supplying the libraries’ collections is investigated, and the theoretical elaboration level is revealed. The term system of the researching sphere is improved, the definitions of its basic terms are offered. Main periods of the beginning and the development of the components of the supplying libraries’ collections system are described, conformities to natural laws of development and factors that define the modern condition of functioning of the libraries’ collections supplying system are found out. Foreign experience of the libraries’ collections supplying is generalized. Ways of improving the Ukrainian libraries’ supplying system in the times of forming the national electronic library are scientifically grounded. The theoretical model of Ukrainian libraries’ supplying system is elaborated.

The current research conducted in traditional and digital media in Latin America, evidence that Ecuador, lacks content in terms of the application of the thematic agendas of the media and public opinion that is being generated in the country. In this sense, the present investigation is framed in the analysis of the criteria used by the digital newspaper ecuadorenvivo.com for the selection of the information it disseminates. Information was collected during 5 weeks, using the method of content analysis, applied in fact sheets that collect the most relevant points regarding the journalistic content of the news publications of a medium, in this specific case of digital type. For the analysis, the following variables were considered: origin of the information, nature of the sources and the protagonists, identification of the protagonists of the information, structure of the information and format of the news, treatment of the contents, focus, informational imbalances and the values that are transmitted. In the results of this investigation, the successes and shortcomings of the study medium are reflected, for a later analysis regarding the journalistic practice in Ecuador.

The new environment of digital technology and internet provoke academic libraries in a constant refinement of their role and their decision making mechanisms regarding the kind and the how-to of providing services to their users. The last two decades, the rapid development of technology has led many libraries’ administrations from abroad to a reassessment of their management structure. A great amount of international bibliography in this field highlights the results of teams’ implementation in an organization. As libraries begin to experiment with them and discover that since they have been established work effectively as a managerial tool. Teamwork represents a concept of value and troubleshooting. It is not a panacea, if it is used selectively and enthusiastically, may enable the library to achieve its mission. The present study initially analyzes the role and importance of teams and explores team management aspects of Academic Libraries worldwide and in Greece particularly, examining theoretical and practical issues as well. Furthermore, the main aspects of the empirical investigation for Greek academic libraries regarding a) the recording of group characteristics and b) the identification of staff’s opinion for team operation and administration are documented. Information scientists in Greece when integrated into the appropriate team may be a development force, influencing positively the organization and management of Libraries and Information Services.

In this thesis, the morphology and electronic structure of the self-organized parallel Gd-silicide nanowire arrays on Si (110)-16×2 surface were studied in detail by scanning tunneling microscopy and scanning tunneling spectroscopy. We used Si (110)-16×2 superstructure as a nanotemplate, and Gd metal was deposited onto Si(110)-16�e2 surface at 600℃. After deposition the sample were then annealed at 400℃-600℃ for 20-30 minutes. This process leads to the self- organization of the parallel Gd-silicide nanowire arrays on Si(110)-16×2 surface. The average line width of Gd-silicide nanowire is ~4 nm , the longest length can reach ~360nm and the maximum aspect ratio is ~90. The bias-dependent STM image exhibits Gd-silicide nanowires of filled state alternating with nanowires of empty state, because the large magnetic moment of the Gd 4f electrons creates magnetic coupling within nanowires.

The purpose of this chapter is to examine how gender diversity affects corporate social responsibility disclosure. Considering the socio-economic impact of the deployment of the fourth industry revolution (Industry 4.0), firms have a moral obligation to disclose information on how different stakeholders may be affected by the extensive use of smart technologies in their value-adding activities. The study used multiple regression analysis with 176 publicly traded Indian service sector organizations for the financial year 2020-21. The findings revealed that GD has a negligible impact on CSR filings. By focusing on Indian public firms in the service sector, this study fills a vacuum in the literature. It is the first study to evaluate the impact of women on boards on the scope of CSR reporting in an Indian context. The findings of this study have crucial implications for future board composition as they show that women's representation on boards did not affect CSR disclosures.

Sexual minority and gender-diverse (SM/GD) persons experience depression, anxiety, suicidality, and substance use issues at a disproportionate rate when compared with heterosexuals. Stigma, minority stress, and prejudicial social attitudes and institutional policies are viewed as the reason for this. The disparities in access to health care for SM/GD persons is significant and is perceived as due to lack of access to competent care as well as mistrust of health care professionals on the part of SM/GD persons. SM/GD teens and elders, as well as individuals with low socioeconomic status, those living in rural areas, and those with disabilities, are particularly vulnerable. Recommendations for changes in health care policy, as well as strategies for improving the cultural competence of health care providers and evidence-based treatments, are discussed. Additionally, further research, standardizing health care training to include SM/GD persons, prevention, and inter-organizational advocacy are recommended.

Three-dimensional printing or rapid prototyping has had a significant impact on manufacturing and educational environments. Manufacturing organizations can now cheaply and quickly create prototypes to provide information on sizes, tolerances, tolerance stack-ups, and assembly. Educational institutions may utilize 3-D printers in much the same ways. Students enhance computer-aided design (CAD) learning by actually making the parts they design and checking assembly operations. From a metrology and GD&T perspective, 3-D printers are also employed to enhance the learning of these topics. Reverse engineering projects are conducted where students use metrology tools to measure a part or assembly, model the part on a computer using CAD, print the part using a 3-D printer, and then measuring the printed part for comparison to the original. As part of the process, students are asked to develop a measuring process that could be employed during an actual manufacturing process of the part including determining the critical dimensions and tools required to measure those dimensions. Additionally, students are required to create 5 GD&T specifications for the part and determine the best way to inspect those specifications.

The choice of fitting algorithm in CMM metrology has often been based on mathematical convenience rather than the fundamental GD&T principles dictated by the ASME Y14.5 standard. Algorithms based on the least squares technique are mostly used for GD&T inspection and this wrong choice of fitting algorithm results in errors that are often overlooked and leads to deficiency in the inspection process. The efforts by organizations such as NIST and NPL and many other researchers to evaluate commercial CMM software were concerned with the mathematical correctness of the algorithms and developing efficient and intelligent methods to overcome the inherent difficulties associated with the mathematics of these algorithms. None of these works evaluate the ramifications of the choice of a particular fitting algorithm for a particular tolerance type. To illustrate the errors that can arise out of a wrong choice of fitting algorithm, a case study was done on a simple prismatic part with intentional variations and the algorithms that were employed in the software were reverse engineered. Based on the results of the experiments, a standardization of fitting algorithms is proposed in light of the definition provided in the standard and an interpretation of manual inspection methods. The standardized fitting algorithms developed for substitute feature fitting are then used to develop Inspection maps (i-Maps) for size, orientation and form tolerances that apply to planar feature types. A methodology for Statistical Process Control (SPC) using these i-Maps is developed by fitting the i-Maps for a batch of parts into the parent Tolerance Maps (T-Maps). Different methods of computing the i-Maps for a batch are explored such as the mean, standard deviations, computing the convex hull and doing a principal component analysis of the distribution of the individual parts. The control limits for the process and the SPC and process capability metrics are computed from inspection samples and the resulting i-Maps. Thus, a framework for statistical control of the manufacturing process is developed.

Abstract In the fast-changing world of energy transition, The Subsurface (SS) Flare reduction project in the Gas Directorate (GD) of Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO) was kicked off beginning of 2021 to ensure continuity in growing our business and generating revenue while reducing the carbon footprint of our operations. The two main value drivers of this project were firstly to minimize HSE impact and reduce GHG emissions, in line with PDO goal towards net zero by 2050, and secondly to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. This is a first of a kind project in PDO as the GD is leading the way towards addressing subsurface flaring. We started the journey by mapping out the different flare contributors (post-frac, well testing, Flow Back Loop (FBL) units and Halite Clean out), quantifying their impact and identifying the big actors. Then, we worked with the different teams from Engineering, Well Services and Operations to build a 5-year work plan with a clear roadmap to reduce subsurface flaring by 60% in 5 years. In the first year (2021), we managed to reduce SS flaring by 37%. This reduction was accomplished by introducing two efficiency improvements which included a successful Flareless Halite Cleanout trail with a full-scale implementation plan, and the utilization of test separators in line with SMS units to verify the flared figures. This resulted in a 50% correction factor to the data on hand. Going forward, the focus will be on maturing the new technologies that will further reduce SS flare such as Green Completion, Well Head Compression (WHC) units, mobile flare gas recovery, etc. Given the complex nature of this project and the multidisciplinary efforts from Petroleum Engineers, Operations, Engineering, Well Services and New Technology, constructing a successful working plan to address this issue required effective collaboration and thinking outside of the box to find innovative solutions. As a result, we constructed a funnel of efficiency opportunities with a clear timeline including Green Completion, WHC, pre frac hook up, and mobile flare gas recovery units. Additionally organizational tools for enhancing efficiency were applied such as PPS (practical problem solving) and Goal Deployment methodologies. Such energy efficiency projects that reduce the GHG emissions with a streamlined process and identified involved stakeholders, help to better position the organizations to tackle the climate challenges. Moreover, they help to establish a better understanding of the current impact on climate and keeps an open eye for any new technology opportunity that can be materialized to reduce or eliminate GHG emissions. Three-dimensional Model-Based Engineering (MBE) along with Quality Information Framework (QIF) is an approach to product design, manufacturing, and support where a digital three-dimensional representation of the product serves as the normative source for information communicated throughout the product’s lifecycle and supply chain. MBE simplifies data management and provides a more powerful communication medium than 2D-based environments. This is not just using a model for reference or a visual aid. The model will be the definition for the parts being manufactured, inspected, and built into full engines. The use of two-dimensional prints will be outdated and a culture change will be needed to embrace this change. Many organizations are implementing MBE and are using this technology to produce aerospace products. Manufacturing and inspection functions are dependent on the models from cradle to grave of the product lifecycle. These smart models will have all of the necessary dimensional metrology interoperability, GD&T encoded and product manufacturing information (PMI) data all in a standardized format associated within the model. This will allow for a model that has less errors, more functionality with manufacturing and inspection systems. The information included in the Model Based Definition (MBD) will be part of the QIF. The QIF fully defines quality measurement plans, measurement results, measurement rules, measurement resources, and results analysis. This combined with the PMI for manufacturing will provide a comprehensive MBD that can be used for all of the manufacturing process in the lifecycle of the product. The culture will need to progress from two-dimensional paper prints to smart three-dimensional models that are rich with data. These models will drive the process and be the final word for part acceptance; paper prints will not be needed or produced. These types of models will drive almost all of the military’s new designs and if the organization is not prepared for this change, it will lose many opportunities to be competitive.

Collaboration between engineering and manufacturing can significantly reduce product costs, and increase product quality. The definition, capture and re-use of standard design features, with their associated proven manufacturing processes in the design stage can significantly reduce manufacturing cost and time to market. Today, 3D models are becoming the central repository for more and more of the critical information which is necessary throughout the Product Development Process. Significant process improvements are possible when organizations embrace the idea of a model-centric design approach, where not only geometry and attributes are captured in the 3D CAD model, but also other data relevant downstream data such as GD&T, 3D annotations, and now even manufacturing process information. The strategies for actually machining and producing designs are important assets for companies. Now, existing manufacturing process knowledge can be capture by the manufacturing engineer using XML based template, and through the use of new CAD technology, this knowledge can be attach to design features. The design feature geometry and attributes (along with the embedded process knowledge) can then be made available to the broader organization, through catalogs of company standard design features such as holes, pocket, step, groove, flange, .. etc. During the engineering activities, as the design model evolves, the design engineer is able to re-use these standard features, creating a 3D model that not only includes the geometric definition of the product, but also the validated, proven process by which that geometry can best be produced. Downstream, once the design is handed off to manufacturing, the manufacturing or process engineer has access to tools that will allow him to extract the process information from the 3D model and define rules to automate the creation of the machining process plan for this model. Specific fixtures required for the different steps of the process can be easily developed using the in-process 3D model, which is generated automatically based on stock removal. Multiple scenarios, based on varying machining resources, production quantity and cycle time, can be analyzed, allowing the process engineer to develop and optimized process plan. This model-centric approach, which leverages product and process data re-use, improves product quality and reduces manufacturing process planning and production time. Typical savings are realized in tool design, increased production throughput and savings due to improved process quality from using validated processes prior to production.

Abstract Commercial CAD systems were originally developed to support the generation of 2D engineering drawings, but evolved to support development of 3D product models. Conceptually, the product model replaces 2D engineering drawings as a means for communicating product information such as size, shape, features, datums, tolerances, and other engineering specifications. Because of their history, the software architecture and data models used by commercial CAD systems do not directly represent all the engineering product information contained in 2D engineering drawings. Computer Assisted Engineering (CAE) tools require engineering product specifications as input. When these tools are integrated directly with the CAD system, a database representation of the product model is required for their efficient operation. Without a direct link to the CAD system, information must be transferred using standard format files, or manually entered into the CAE application. To satisfy the requirements for direct integration of CAE applications with CAD systems, the Functional Feature Model (FFM) was developed. By definition, the Functional Feature Model (FFM) contains component geometry, feature definitions, datums, datum features, tolerances and other feature attributes accessed through a standard interface. The FFM was named to distinguish the functional features used by an engineer in the definition of part function, inspection, and assembly from the features employed by CAD systems in construction of geometry. Today, the FFM is used as the basis for CAE tools which perform analysis of product Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D tolerance analysis of assemblies, and CMM programming. Any CAE application which requires the same or similar information as these applications can obtain its input from the FFM. The FFM is a mature, commercially proven prototype for a standard product model, containing the majority of engineering product information typically represented using 2D drawings annotated with Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols. The FFM can be used instead of 2D drawings to supply necessary product information to CAE applications. Using the FFM, there is no need to create the 2D engineering drawing, interpret the GD&T annotation, and enter the interpreted product information into the CAE application. It provides a standard interface (independent of CAD system) for commercial development of CAE applications, and is designed in a fashion which makes it appropriate for use as a basis for emerging product model standards. The FFM provides a prototype for related activities like the Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data (STEP) initiative represented by the Product Data Exchange using STEP (PDES) organization in the USA. Corporate and government consortiums such as the Rapid Response Manufacturing (RRM) or Simulation Assessment Validation Environment (SAVE) initiatives could employ the FFM directly to support their objectives of developing the next generation design and simulation environment.

National Agency for Radioactive Waste — ANDRAD — is in Romania, by law, the competent authority for the disposal administration of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste and for the coordination of the predisposal management of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste, inclusive decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Government Ordinance (GO) No. 11/January 30, 2003 and Government Decision (GD) No. 1601/December 23, 2003 established the ANDRAD’s foundation and organization. In accordance with GO No. 11/2003, republished, on the safe management of the radioactive waste, ANDRAD has the responsibility to endorse the decommissioning documentation issued by the main radioactive waste generators (nuclear installations and other major radiological installations: radioactive waste treatment plants, radioactive waste storage facilities, post irradiation examination laboratories, centres for radioisotopes production etc.). ANDRAD receives for endorsement some of the documentation for decommissioning that is provided by enforced norms for each type of nuclear facility. There are presented the nuclear facilities that must have decommissioning documentation endorsed by ANDRAD, the type of documents submitted by license holder to ANDRAD and the procedure of endorsement in relation with the regulatory body (CNCAN) approval of the decommissioning documents.
