Résumé :
Prestack migration has angle-dependent wavelet stretch effects, which lowers the image resolution at large reflection angles. Most current stretch correction methods operate on the migrated images. We develop a new stretch-free imaging condition, which does a shrink-and-shift operation on the extracted propagation wavelet after extrapolation, but before the imaging condition is applied. The algorithm is illustrated with the excitation amplitude imaging condition; the new images show successful stretch corrections over wide angle apertures, and preserve amplitude and phase.

Résumé :
This paper focuses on the problem of identifying all individual principal rigid body modes and the associated mass or principal inertia of moment, which can be called modal mass, of flexible structures under the free-free boundary condition with fewer multi-location excitations than the number of those modes. The rigid body mass matrix of the structure can be identified by using both the parameters of inertia, which are determined previously by a modal parameter estimation, and the coordinates of measurement points. As all rigid body properties can be obtained from the mass matrix, it becomes possible to simulate the FRFs between any two measurement points with inclusion of the contribution of rigid body motions even by only experimental modal analysis technique. First, the theory is explained. Then, a numerical simulation and two actual identifications for a plate structure and an automotive body component are carried out to demonstrate the validity and the usefulness of the theory.

Résumé :
We define a complexity measure on context-free grammars called end. Roughly speaking, for a context-free grammar G, endG(n) measures the distance of variables from the ends of sentential forms along the derivations of words in L(G) of length n. We prove in a constructive way the regularity of L(G)wheneverendG(n)is constant. Yet, we improve on this by showing that ifL(G)is nonregular thenendG(n) = Ω∞( log n). We establish the optimality of such bound. Finally, we show that, in case of unambiguous context-free grammars, the end lower bound for generating nonregular languages turns out to be linear.

Résumé :
Recent works have successfully extended large-scale text-to-image models to the video domain, producing promising results but at a high computational cost and requiring a large amount of video data. In this work, we introduce ConditionVideo, a training-free approach to text-to-video generation based on the provided condition, video, and input text, by leveraging the power of off-the-shelf text-to-image generation methods (e.g., Stable Diffusion). ConditionVideo generates realistic dynamic videos from random noise or given scene videos. Our method explicitly disentangles the motion representation into condition-guided and scenery motion components. To this end, the ConditionVideo model is designed with a UNet branch and a control branch. To improve temporal coherence, we introduce sparse bi-directional spatial-temporal attention (sBiST-Attn). The 3D control network extends the conventional 2D controlnet model, aiming to strengthen conditional generation accuracy by additionally leveraging the bi-directional frames in the temporal domain. Our method exhibits superior performance in terms of frame consistency, clip score, and conditional accuracy, outperforming other compared methods.

Résumé :
Abstract We consider necessary and sufficient conditions for finite generation and finite presentability for fiber products of free semigroups and free monoids. We give a necessary and sufficient condition on finite fiber quotients for a fiber product of two free monoids to be finitely generated, and show that all such fiber products are also finitely presented. By way of contrast, we show that fiber products of free semigroups over finite fiber quotients are never finitely generated. We then consider fiber products of free semigroups over infinite semigroups, and show that for such a fiber product to be finitely generated, the quotient must be infinite but finitely generated, idempotent-free, and $$\mathcal {J}$$ J -trivial. Finally, we construct automata accepting the indecomposable elements of the fiber product of two free monoids/semigroups over free monoid/semigroup fibers, and give a necessary and sufficient condition for such a product to be finitely generated.

Résumé :
There is a discrepancy between the hearing test results in patients with single-sided deafness (SSD) and their reported outcome measures. This is probably due to the presence of two elements in everyday situations: noise and head movements. We developed a stereo-audiometric test in noise with free head movements to evaluate movements and auditory performance in monaural and binaural conditions in normal hearing volunteers with one occluded ear. Tests were performed in the binaural condition (BIN), with the left ear (LEO) or the right ear occluded (REO). The signal was emitted by one of the seven speakers, placed every 30° in a semicircle, and the noise (cocktail party) by all speakers. Subjects turned their head freely to obtain the most comfortable listening position, then repeated 10 sentences in this position. In monaural conditions, the sums of rotations (head rotations for an optimal hearing position in degrees, random signal azimuth, 1 to 15 signal ad lib signal presentations) were higher (LEO 255 ± 212°, REO 308 ± 208° versus BIN 74 ± 76, p < 0.001, ANOVA) than those in the BIN condition and the discrimination score (out of 10) was lower than that in the BIN condition (LEO 5 ± 1, REO 7 ± 1 versus BIN 8 ± 1, respectively p < 0.001 and p < 0.05 ANOVA). In the monaural condition, total rotation and discrimination in noise were negatively correlated with difficulty (Pearson r = −0.68, p < 0.01 and −0.51, p < 0.05, respectively). Subjects’ behaviors were different in optimizing their hearing in noise via head rotation. The evaluation of head movements seems to be a significant parameter in predicting the difficulty of monaural hearing in noisy environments.

A greener improvement was achieved for the synthesis of diverse N,N-dibenzylated compounds from the reaction of various aromatic amines with benzyl bromide using the ultrasound irradiation in solvent- and catalyst-free conditions. The dibenzylation reactions were carried out in different solvents and solvent-free conditions under ultrasound irradiation at various temperatures. The yields were very low in all applied solvents, while in the solvent-free condition and at room temperature, the yields were excellent. Due to obtaining the high reaction yields, the catalyst was not used.

Résumé :
According to Howard’s proposal of chaining compliance techniques and based on the proximity of interpretation of their effects, this study aimed to test a combination of two paradigms: a door-in-the-face request that makes a high-cost request before the target request and the but-you-are-free request that adds an evocation of freedom to the request. Two experiments were conducted ( N = 120 and 1,292) to promote donations to non-profit organizations. There were four conditions. Participants were approached according to the door-in-the-face procedure, to the but-you-are-free procedure, to a combination of both of them, or directly in a control condition. There was an increase of compliance rates in experimental conditions compared to the control condition and an increase in the average amount donated in the combination condition compared to the control condition in the second study. Results are discussed in terms of responsibility and guilt mechanisms, and future developments are proposed.

Résumé :
We consider spherically symmetric distributions of anisotropic fluids with a central vacuum cavity, evolving under the condition of vanishing expansion scalar. Some analytical solutions are found satisfying Darmois junction conditions on both delimiting boundary surfaces, while some others require the presence of thin shells on either (or both) boundary surfaces. The solutions here obtained model the evolution of the vacuum cavity and the surrounding fluid distribution, emerging after a central explosion, thereby showing the potential of expansion–free condition for the study of that kind of problems. This study complements a previously published work where modeling of the evolution of such kind of systems was achieved through a different kinematical condition.

Résumé :
ABSTRACT Axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) models are useful in studies of magnetized winds and non-linear Alfvén waves in solar and stellar atmospheres. We demonstrate that a condition often used in these models for the determination of a nearly vertical magnetic field is applicable to a radial field instead. A general divergence-free condition in curvilinear coordinates is self-consistently derived and used to obtain the correct condition for the variation of a nearly vertical magnetic field. The obtained general divergence-free condition along with the transfield equation completes the set of MHD equations in curvilinear coordinates for axisymmetric motions and could be useful in studies of magnetized stellar winds and non-linear Alfvén waves.

Résumé :
Industrially the epoxidation of soybean oil utilize peracids as oxidizing agents together with strong mineral acids as catalyst. To avoid the corrosive waste and undesirable epoxy-ring opening as well as polymerization under acidic conditions, new green catalytic processes in acid-free system have been paid great attentions in recent years. In this paper, MoO3/Al2O3 simply prepared by impregnation method and mesoporous TS-1 prepared by one-pot hydrothermal method were evaluated as catalysts for the epoxidation of soybean oil with tert-butyl hydroperoxide. Orthogonal experiment design was used to optimize the reaction conditions for MoO3/Al2O3 and the optimized conditions are as reaction temperature of 80°C, reaction time of 4h, the ratio of double bond to TBHP of 1:1.4, and the ratio of Ti to double bond of 1%. Higher than 55.8% of selectivity would be obtained. The synthesized meso-TS-1 displayed worse performance than expected result, only 27.6% of epoxy selectivity at conversion of 38.7%.

At the same time, microstructure and electrical properties of ceramics were studied and analyzed. In this experiment, citric acid(CA) as metal chelator, ethylene glycol(EG) as esterification and chelating agents. Through a large number of experiments, n(citric acid):n(ethylene glycol)=2:1, n(citric acid):n(Nb5+)=1.5:1 is the best equipped ratio. This ratio can obtained pale yellow transparent solution. Under the experiments condition, PH of the precursor solution and the sintering temperature of powders have great influence on experimental. Experiments confirmed that PH=5-6 and temperature=1100°C is the best preparation condition, in which condition piezoelectric ceramics can obtained excellent structures and piezoelectric properties.

This paper reports on experimental and finite element analysis of the free vibration analysis of three rectangular plates under thermal load. The materials of the three rectangular plates were steel, aluminum and stainless-steel, respectively. The dimension of the plate was 0.1 x 0.1 x 0.002 m. Halogen lamps were used for thermal loading. A PCS (Power Control System) electric control system and a scanning vibrometer (Poly Tech) for frequency response function’s (FRF’s) acquisition were used. The applied temperature conditions were from room temperature to 300oC in 50oC steps. The boundary condition was a free-free condition using bungee cord and one entire side of the plate was heated. ABAQUS was used for FEM analysis. At first, the heat transfer analysis was conducted for each temperature condition and the modal analysis afterwards. The FEM model was verified by comparing experiment and FEM analysis. The FEM model for the modal analysis of thermally loaded plates could be verified.

A nonlinear thermal vibration characteristic of the laminate composite thin shell structures under linear temperature field is investigated by finite element method (FEM). The natural frequencies of the composite laminated thin shell structures with different boundary conditions and stacking sequence are calculated and analyzed. Numerical results show that the natural frequencies of the structure are affected by the temperature, boundary conditions and the stacking sequence; the proper stacking angle can change the natural frequencies; the effect degree on the natural frequencies of symmetric composite structures is different from that of the antisymmetric one. These conclusions can provide some guidance to structure design and heat-resistant design of composite structures.

Résumé :
Summary In [7], [9], [10] we presented a formalization of Kronecker’s construction of a field extension E for a field F in which a given polynomial p ∈ F [X]\F has a root [5], [6], [3]. A drawback of our formalization was that it works only for polynomial-disjoint fields, that is for fields F with F ∩ F [X] = ∅. The main purpose of Kronecker’s construction is that by induction one gets a field extension of F in which p splits into linear factors. For our formalization this means that the constructed field extension E again has to be polynomial-disjoint. In this article, by means of Mizar system [2], [1], we first analyze whether our formalization can be extended that way. Using the field of polynomials over F with degree smaller than the degree of p to construct the field extension E does not work: In this case E is polynomial-disjoint if and only if p is linear. Using F [X]/<p> one can show that for F = ℚ and F = ℤ n the constructed field extension E is again polynomial-disjoint, so that in particular algebraic number fields can be handled. For the general case we then introduce renamings of sets X as injective functions f with dom(f) = X and rng(f) ∩ (X ∪ Z) = ∅ for an arbitrary set Z. This, finally, allows to construct a field extension E of an arbitrary field F in which a given polynomial p ∈ F [X]\F splits into linear factors. Note, however, that to prove the existence of renamings we had to rely on the axiom of choice.
