Résumé :
The tutorial is an introductory course to the study of the basics of geometric modeling for 3D printing using the programming language OpenSCAD and is built on the basis of descriptions of instructions for creating primitives, determining their properties, carrying out transformations and other service operations. It contains a large number of examples with detailed comments and description of the performed actions, which allows you to get basic skills in creating three-dimensional and flat models, exporting and importing graphical data. Meets the requirements of the Federal state educational standards of higher education of the last generation. It can be useful for computer science teachers, students, students and anyone who is interested in three-dimensional modeling and preparation of products for 3D printing.

Cameron, Bob. Illumination and Decoration of Flat Surfaces. CSIRO Publishing, 2009. http://dx.doi.org/10.1071/9780643097124.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
It must be appreciated that no building surface is perfectly flat and that the best that can be expected is the appearance of flatness. Unfortunately, this appearance can easily be destroyed by the effect of glancing light, whether natural or artificial. Illumination and Decoration of Flat Surfaces shows the effect of different light sources on a variety of lining materials and paints so that best results can be achieved. Different types of building surfaces are investigated, including set plaster, fibrous plaster, hardboard and gypsum board with gloss and semi-gloss paint applied. This full-colour edition also discusses new building materials such as cement sheet, polystyrene and various composite panels, as well as new building practices, low embodied energy materials and higher energy efficiency of buildings. Illumination and Decoration of Flat Surfaces is a must-have for people involved in the building industry, both commercial and residential.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
This chapter develops a general theory of extensions of flat functors along geometric morphisms of toposes; the attention is focused in particular on geometric morphisms between presheaf toposes induced by embeddings of categories and on geometric morphisms to the classifying topos of a geometric theory induced by a small category of set-based models of the latter. A number of general results of independent interest are established on the way, including developments on colimits of internal diagrams in toposes and a way of representing flat functors by using a suitable internalized version of the Yoneda lemma. These general results will be instrumental for establishing in Chapter 6 the main theorem characterizing the class of geometric theories classified by a presheaf topos and for applying it.

Résumé :
In his 1927 study, Aspects of the Novel, E.M. Forster divided characters into two categories: ‘flat’ and ‘round’. Shakespeare’s ability to create distinct, memorable characters has long been singled out for praise. Shakespeare’s most memorable creations—such as Bottom, Falstaff, and Malvolio—tend to have a complicating element of sadness, which can knock comedy off course: there is always an element of unease. How does Shakespeare combine complexity with laughter? And make pathos compatible with farce? One answer is that his characters are shape-shifters. Shakespeare adapts their level of self-awareness to the moment so that, dependant on the requirements of the drama, they can be both ‘flat’ and ‘round’.

Résumé :
Even though it is quite clear at this stage what curvature means, its technical definition turns out to be problematic, since it needs a technical assumption. However, this assumption forces a projective structure to be flat, and it becomes necessary to modify the approach adopted so far.

Ruban, Anatoly I. Introduction. Oxford University Press, 2018. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/oso/9780199681754.003.0001.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
This book investigates high-Reynolds number flows, and analyses flows that can be described in the framework of Prandtl’s 1904 classical boundary-layer theory, including Blasius’s boundary layer on a flat plate, Falkner–Skan solutions for the boundary layer on a wedge surface, and other applications of Prandtl’s theory. It then discusses separated flows, and considers the so-called ‘self-induced separation’ in supersonic flow, and which led to the ‘triple-deck model’. It also presents Sychev’s 1972 theory of the boundary-layer separation in an incompressible fluid flow past a circular cylinder. It discusses the triple-deck flow near the trailing edge of a flat plate, and then considers the incipience of the separation at corner points of the body surface in subsonic and supersonic flows. It covers the Marginal Separation theory—a special version of the triple-deck theory—and describes the formation and bursting of short separation bubbles at the leading edge of a thin aerofoil.

Bey, Marquis. Cistem Failure. Duke University Press, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.1215/9781478023036.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
In Cistem Failure Marquis Bey meditates on the antagonistic relationship between blackness and cisgender. Bey asks, What does it mean to have a gender that “matches” one’s sex---that is, to be cisgender---when decades of feminist theory have destroyed the belief that there is some natural way to be a sex? Moving from the The Powerpuff Girls to the greeting “How ya mama’n’em?” to their own gender identity, Bey finds that cisgender is too flat as a category to hold the myriad ways that people who may or may not have undergone gender-affirmative interventions depart from gender alignment. At the same time, blackness, they contend, strikes at the heart of cisgender’s invariable coding as white: just as transness names a non-cis space, blackness implies a non-cis space. By showing how blackness opens up a way to subvert the hegemonic power of the gender binary, Bey makes a case for an antiracist gender abolition project that rejects cisgender as a regulatory apparatus.

Phelps, Nicholas A. Global Production Networks. Oxford University Press, 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/oso/9780199668229.003.0009.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
This chapter outlines the emergence of global production networks (GPNs) from the outsourcing and offshoring processes centred on multinational enterprises. It is important in any relational perspective that understanding of GPNs is not reduced to a flat ontology of a universe of point instants. The territoriality of both the state and the MNE are central to understanding the uneven geography and impacts of GPNs. The chapter underscores the importance of intermediaries to the emergence of GPNs. It then goes on to emphasize how the geography of international trade and production cannot be understood with reference to the network metaphor alone; agglomerations and enclaves persist alongside network forms of economic activity.
