Résumé :
An external locus of control (feeling low personal control over one’s life) has been linked with excessive/addictive behaviours, including problematic videogaming. The current study sought to determine whether this is driven by the opportunity for greater control over one’s environment within a videogame. Participants ( n = 252, 59% males) completed a traditional locus of control scale, alongside a modified version assessing in-game feelings of control. Multiple linear regression analyses indicated that feeling less under the control of powerful others in-game than in the real world was a significant predictor of gaming frequency (standardised β = .31, p < .0005), while feeling comparatively more internal control in-game than in real life significantly predicted problematic gaming (standardised β = .17, p = .02). This demonstrates that locus of control in-game can diverge from that experienced in the real world, and the degree of divergence could be a risk factor for frequent and/or problematic gaming in some individuals.

Résumé :
Calculating math problems from memory may seem unrelated to everyday processing of emotions, but they have more in common than one might think. Prior research highlights the importance of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) in executive control, intentional emotion regulation, and experience of dysfunctional mood and anxiety. Although it has been hypothesized that emotion regulation may be related to “cold” (i.e., not emotion-related) executive control, this assertion has not been tested. We address this gap by providing evidence that greater dlPFC activity during cold executive control is associated with increased use of cognitive reappraisal to regulate emotions in everyday life. We then demonstrate that in the presence of increased life stress, increased dlPFC activity is associated with lower mood and anxiety symptoms and clinical diagnoses. Collectively, our results encourage ongoing efforts to understand prefrontal executive control as a possible intervention target for improving emotion regulation in mood and anxiety disorders.

Résumé :
Abstract This paper argues that the “feeling of betrayal” thoroughly entangles feeling and narration into a single subjective impression. When felt by large numbers of citizens in the political realm, it motivates the desire to reassert national control over a realm where such control is perceived to have been lost. Expressions of “feeling betrayed” can be observed in the aftermath of the Great Recession and the consequent populist insurgencies impacting many Western countries, suggesting links between economic insecurity, feelings of betrayal, and the willingness to support non-mainstream political movements which demand a reassertion of national control. The paper attempts to demonstrate these links by analyzing Italy and Greece, two countries which saw a surge in support for populist groups after the Eurozone’s debt crisis.

Résumé :
This research concerns the relation of subjective control and happiness within normal daily experience. Respondents from several nonclinical samples rated their feelings of control at randomly-selected moments during a week in their lives, following the procedures of the Experience Sampling Method. Analyses consider the relation of these ratings to similar ratings of affective states, first, within persons and, second, between persons. The within-person analyses show relatively little moment-to-moment correlation of subjective control and affective states. For many persons there is no correlation at all and on the average people report feeling only slightly more happy at times when feeling in control. The between-persons analyses yield findings that are more in line with explanations of subject control, showing that individuals reporting higher average daily control also experience greater average happiness. The results confirm that a generalized sense of control is important to well being in daily life, but for nondisturbed individuals short-term experiences of discontrol are not accompanied by substantial distress.

Résumé :
Transmissions require a good shift feeling and improved fuel efficiency. In state-of-the-art stepped automated transmissions, the number of gear stages increases, and the lock-up area is expanded to improve fuel efficiency. However, this makes it difficult to obtain a good shift feeling and it takes a large number of calibration man-hours. Therefore, to reduce the number of calibration man-hours and improve the shift feeling, we propose a slip control law between the engine and the clutch, which is composed of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller and a disturbance observer. Moreover, PID gain is adjusted online by installing an automatic tuning method, which does not require a controlled object model. The effects of the proposed method are verified via an experiment using an actual vehicle. The experimental results show that the proposed method is effective for automatically adjusting PID gain and improving the shift feeling of the stepped automated transmission.

Résumé :
This essay argues that the emotional rhetoric of today’s breast cancer discourse—with its emphasis on stoicism and ‘positive thinking’ in the cancer patient, and its use of sympathetic feeling to encourage charitable giving—has its roots in the long 18th century. While cancer had long been connected with the emotions, 18th-century literature saw it associated with both ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ feelings, and metaphors describing jealousy, love and other sentiments as ‘like a cancer’ were used to highlight the danger of allowing feelings—even benevolent or pleasurable feelings—to flourish unchecked. As the century wore on, breast cancer in particular became an important literary device for exploring the dangers of feeling in women, with writers of both moralising treatises and sentimental novels connecting the growth or development of cancer with the indulgence of feeling, and portraying emotional self-control as the only possible form of resistance against the disease. If, as Barbara Ehrenreich suggests, today’s discourse of ‘positive thinking’ has been mobilised to make patients with breast cancer more accepting of their diagnosis and more cooperative with punitive treatment regimens, then 18th-century fictional exhortations to stay cheerful served similarly conservative political and economic purposes, encouraging continued female submission to male prerogatives inside and outside the household.

Résumé :
The aim of this work is to develop a technology that allows a remote operator of construction machine to feel the situations in a real working site to prevent fall accidents. In tele-operated maneuvering construction machine, it is difficult to recognize the tilt of the vehicle using only images from a camera mounted on the remote vehicle. Therefore, this study focuses on transmitting the feeling of the tilt using a controller with tactile stimulation. A gamepad-type tactile controller that performs palm pressurization is utilized to provide the tactile stimulus. The vehicle’s tilt is expressed by the palm pressure, which changes in corresponding to the vehicle’s pitch and roll angle. This study involves an experiment in which 10 subjects operate a vehicle remotely to climb on a slope. The subjects reported the tilt of the slope felt during the operation. The reported tilt is compared with those obtained by camera images only. The experiment results show that the accuracy of the recognized tilt was improved by 31.7% by utilizing a tactile stimulus when compared with the case involving operation using vision only. A subjective evaluation is performed using a five-point scale questionnaire. The results confirmed that the feeling of tilt, which is difficult to transmit using only video, was improved by 34%. This is an effective technology that transmits the feelings experienced in the remote field in real time. The proposed technology is thus expected to be useful for further development of teleworking technologies.

Résumé :
The executive functioning skill set, which includes working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibitory control, begins developing in early life and continues into adulthood. Preschoolers’ abilities to perform those skills may be influenced by diet. The purpose of this study was to explore the acute effects of consuming a low-GI diet compared to the usual childcare diet on preschoolers’ self-reported feelings of hunger and fullness and their performance on learning-associated tasks. This study was a prospective feeding trial in n = 20 children 3–4 years of age, completed in a laboratory setting where children attended “day camps” and consumed two days of usual diet (CON) and two days of low-GI (INT) diet. Learning outcomes were evaluated using select learning assessments including the Kansas Reflection-Impulsivity Scale for Preschoolers (KRISP), Track-it, Peg Tapping, and Happy/Sad. Repeated measures, full-factorial analysis of covariance revealed that diet was significantly related to impulsivity (p > 0.05), and univariate analysis of variance indicated that feelings of hunger and fullness differentially affected cognitive constructs in that feeling full improved impulsivity and attention, while feeling hungry improved inhibitory control. These findings highlight that the connection between diet and learning-related skills of children are independently mediated by both diet composition and feelings of hunger and fullness.

Résumé :
The study examined feelings toward parents among Israeli Jewish adolescents with disabled parents (research group, n = 182) and non-disabled parents (control group, n = 285). It also studied the relationship between the types of parental disability (chronic heart disease, multiple sclerosis, and blindness) and the adolescents' feelings toward their parents. Bipolarity, i.e., coexistence of positive and negative feelings toward parents, was found among all participants. Nevertheless, the intensity of these feelings and a predominance of the positive feelings over the negative were higher in the research group than in the control group. The type of parental disability was significantly correlated with intensity of adolescents' feeling toward their parents. The moderator effect of adolescents' anxiety on the intensity and balance of positive and negative feelings toward parents was found in both the research and control groups. The results of this study underline the importance of examining critical dimensions of family life in cases where the parents have a disability or chronic illness.

Résumé :
This research examined whether feeling powerful can eliminate the deleterious effect of stereotype threat (i.e., concerns about confirming a negative self-relevant stereotype) on women’s math performance. In Experiments 1 and 2, priming women with high power buffered them from reduced math performance in response to stereotype threat instructions, whereas women in the low and control power conditions showed poorer math performance in response to threat. Experiment 3 found that working memory capacity is one mechanism through which power moderates the effect of threat on women’s math performance. In the low and control power conditions, women showed reduced working memory capacity in response to stereotype threat, accounting for threat’s effect on performance. In contrast, women in the high power condition did not show reductions in working memory capacity or math performance in response to threat. This work demonstrates that perceived power moderates stereotype threat–based performance effects and explains why this occurs.

Résumé :
The object of this paper is to give a g guide for designing the human-robot collaborative control system attaching importance to maneuverability of the operator. The operative ""feel"" is quantitatively evaluated using the norm of input-output signal obtained from the sensors during operation. As an example of the human-robot collaborative system, the subjective operative ""feel"" of the operator is qualitatively analyzed during the sine wave following task using 1-link operation arm. In addition, the control performance of the operator is examined from the viewpoint of H∞ control using the measurement data during the collaborative operation. As a result, it was suggested that the operator executes the given task while adequately reforming the sensitivity function and complementary sensitivity function of the closed loop system of the collaborative system. Use of this method enables design of the control system taking into consideration the operative ""feel"" of maneuverability.

Résumé :
Relevance. Th e question of the role of the feelings of guilt in the rehabilitation process of people whose parents were alcohol addicts remains controversial. In cognitive behavioral therapy, the feeling of guilt is associated with taking the responsibility. In the humanistic approach, the feelings of guilt and shame are considered as emotions that hinder the acceptance of responsibility and the search for social support. Th e study of the experience of the feelings of guilt can help formulate the goals of rehabilitation and identify the resource factors of people whose parents were alcohol addicts. Objective. Th e purpose of this study was to study the relationship between the responsibility and the feelings of guilt experienced by people whose parents were alcohol addicts. Methods. Sample: 1) people whose parents were alcohol addicts (N = 52; M age = 24.5); 2) control group (N = 50; M age = 24.2). We used a phenomenological analysis of the statements of the participants in the twelve-step recovery program, “Th e Interpersonal Guilt Questionnaire” (O’Connor, Berry), “Th e GuiltInventory Questionnaire” (Kugler, Jones), “Coping strategies” (Lazarus, Folkman), the content analysis of the family resource factors. Results. People whose parents suff ered from chronic alcoholism characterize the feelings of guilt as a familiar family process, as a result of increased responsibility for other people, as a result of taboo aggression towards their parents and as a result of experiencing a real or expected loss of their parents. An increased feeling of guilt is associated with avoiding fi nding a solution to a problem and is not associated with taking increased responsibility. Resource factors contributing to overcoming the feeling of guilt: keeping a diary, self-observation of negative emotions, communication with friends and healthy relatives, participation in rehabilitation programs. Th e participants in the control group are less inclined to experience the feelings of guilt and shame, and identify the confi dential communication with family and friends, and sport as resource factors. Conclusions. Th e feelings of guilt experienced by people whose parents were alcohol addicts is not associated with the acceptance of increased responsibility for their lives and does not contribute to the acceptance of the social support.

Résumé :
Online-learning is a feasible alternative to in-person attendance during COVID-19 pandemic. In this period, information technologies have allowed sharing experiences, but have also highlighted some limitations compared to traditional learning. Learning is strongly supported by some qualities of consciousness such as flow (intended as the optimal state of absorption and engagement activity) and sense of presence (feeling of exerting control, interacting with and getting immersed into real/virtual environments), behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement, together with the need for social interaction. During online learning, feelings of disconnection, social isolation, distractions, boredom, and lack of control exert a detrimental effect on the ability to reach the state of flow, the feeling of presence, the feeling of social involvement. Since online environments could prevent the rising of these learning–supporting variables, this article aims at describing the role of flow, presence, engagement, and social interactions during online sessions and at characterizing multisensory stimulations as a driver to cope with these issues. We argue that the use of augmented, mixed, or virtual reality can support the above-mentioned domains, and thus counteract the detrimental effects of physical distance. Such support could be further increased by enhancing multisensory stimulation modalities within augmented and virtual environments.

Résumé :
Abstract Objectives Daily variations in control beliefs are associated with developmental outcomes. We predicted that on days when older adults feel more in control than their personal average, they would also report feeling younger, and explored the relationship in younger adults. Method A total of 116 older and 107 younger adults completed a 9-day daily diary study. On Day 1 participants reported on demographic variables. On Days 2–9, participants reported their daily subjective age, daily control beliefs, daily stressors, and daily physical health symptoms. All measures were completed online via Qualtrics. Results were analyzed using multilevel models. Results Controlling for age, gender, education, daily stressors, daily physical health, and average control, there was a significant main effect of daily control beliefs on daily subjective age. Older adults felt significantly younger on days with a greater sense of control than usual, but this effect was absent in younger adults. For younger adults, average exposure to daily stressors and daily fluctuations in physical health were better predictors of daily subjective age. Discussion These findings suggest that higher daily control is associated with younger subjective ages in older adults, whereas other factors may play a more central role in the daily variations of younger adults’ subjective ages.

In order to ensure that pure electric vehicle can accurately identify the road grade, and has a high safety and good feeling, this article proposes a control strategy for slope starting of pure electric vehicle. Slope prediction module can accurately calculate and predict the road grade based on motor speed and vehicle-related parameters. Slope starting strategy allows the vehicle to stop on a small slope, and keep a low speed on a large slope, and can make the feeling of slope starting consistent with the common road. This article completed the offline simulation under MATLAB/Simulink, and simulation results showed that the control strategy not only can accurately identify the road grade, but also has a high safety and good feeling.

With reference to the Russian literary language of the 19th – 21st centuries and some particular facts of jargons, popular language and subdialects, the author studies 4 groups of somatisms, which are the most representative in terms of expression of meanings, which are in the sphere of interest of the author: names of organs of the back of the body (спина, затылок, лопатки, задница, загривок etc.); nominations of the stomach and the inward parts of the body (нутро, живот, брюхо, печенки etc.); names of proper organs of perception (нос, ухо); the words тело, кожа (шкура). The analyzed model is realized in a variety of ways, the most significant of which are verbal-nominal combinations like чуять печенкой, почувствовать задницей, ощущать телом. The paper describes contextual meanings specific to the words studied: ‘premonition of trouble, death’, ‘fine organic feeling (of duty, obligation; profit etc.)’, ‘illogical perception of something which is usually perceived logically’, ‘perceptive synaesthetic feelings’, ‘the feeling of control (sense of chase, the feeling of somebody else's power’) and others. The author analyzes the reasons for appearance of the meanings, which are specific to each group of the vocabulary studied or which connect somatisms belonging to different groups.

Résumé :
To improve the road feeling of the steer-by-wire (SBW) system, a fractional order PID (proportion-integral-derivative) method with a fault tolerant module is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the overall road feeling control strategy of the SBW system is introduced, and then the mathematical model of road feeling control is established. Secondly, a fractional order PID (FOPID) controller is designed to control torque of the road feeling motor. Furthermore, genetic algorithm (GA) is applied to tune the FOPID controller’s parameters. Thirdly, a fault tolerant module aiming at potential failures of the motor’s torque sensor is studied to improve the reliability of the system. Kalman Filter (KF) algorithm is utilized in the fault tolerant module so as to detect failures of the motor’s torque sensor, and then fault tolerant module reconfigures the motor’s torque estimated by KF as a substitute when the torque sensor fails. Finally, simulations based on MATLAB are performed with the proposed control strategy to identify its performance, and the results demonstrate that the proposed control method is feasible and accurate.

Résumé :
ABSTRACTThe promotion of choice and control for older people is a policy priority for social care services in the United Kingdom and is at the heart of recent drives to personalise services. Increasingly, we are seeing a move away from institutionalised care (e.g. in care homes) towards enablement, with more services being delivered in community-based settings. Extra care housing has been promoted as a purpose-built, community-based alternative to residential care for older people. However, whilst accounts of users' experiences in particular service types are plentiful, the use of different instrumentation and measures makes comparison between settings difficult. We combined data from four studies where participants were older people either living in care homes or extra care housing or receiving care at home. All of these studies asked participants to rate their control over daily life, using the Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit (ASCOT). This paper presents the results of an ordinal logistic regression analysis indicating that, after controlling for differences in age, ability to perform activities of daily living and self-rated health, setting had a significant effect on older people's sense of control. Residents in care homes and extra care housing report similar levels of control over daily life but consistently report feeling more in control than older people receiving care at home. Implications for policy and practice are discussed.

Résumé :
Through a combination of aesthetics and game mechanics, casual art games offer unique engagements with trauma, allowing players to practice grief or empathise with the traumatic experiences of others. Both “Spiritfarer” (Thunder Lotus Games 2020) and „Mutazione” (Die Gute Fabrik 2019) utilise similar aesthetics (2D art, pastel colours and calming music) alongside agency-driven gameplay mechanics (choosing when to let spirits go or how to react to a character’s trauma) that create a safe space. This is possible because neither game is competitive, nor does it allow the player to lose. Instead, agency is given to the player through narrative choice and exploration of the beautiful storyworld. We argue that games like “Spiritfarer” and “Mutazione” can be used as models for the further development of casual art games that can be used as art therapy through their emotional connections embedded in both the aesthetics and gameplay.

Résumé :
Early childhood is a time to learn to deal with feelings, whether disappointed, sad, angry when what they want is not fulfilled. That's all a natural and natural feeling. Sometimes without us realizing it we as adults clog an emotion, for example distracting a child. However, if this feeling cannot be expressed by the child, there will be a pile of emotions that can later explode and get out of control, and appear like a tamper tantrum. Expressing emotions with dangerous actions is a form of tantrums so that children get what they want or need. The older the child, the more energy he puts into expressing his emotions. Therefore it is difficult for adults to control and prevent uncontrollable behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of counseling guidance in overcoming children with temper tantrums in RA Anak Salih Suwayuwo, precisely in group A children. Researchers used qualitative methods in their research. Counseling guidance at RA Anak Salih Suwayuwo is carried out through various stages of certain services.

Résumé :
A novel friction compensation control method is proposed to compensate both the dynamic and static friction torque of steering system. The change of EPS assist torque under fixed amplitude friction compensation torque can cause the diver’s steering feeling fuzzy. That is due to the fact that the friction torque felt by driver varies with EPS assist gain. Therefore, a further modified friction compensation control method is proposed based on EPS assist gain to make the driver have similar friction feeling. Finally, computer simulation and vehicle test are performed to verify the effectiveness of adaptation method in the proposed controller. Test results indicate that the proposed controller improved the driver’s steering performance.

Résumé :
Regenerative braking can save energy consumption greatly for electric vehicles. For a series regenerative brake system, it is foundational to make the hydraulic braking torque and braking force decoupled and to provide the same pedal feeling as conventional braking system. In this paper, a high-performance and low-cost solution of series regenerative brake system is designed, which consists of a conventional anti-lock brake system and a motor-driven electromechanical booster (E-booster). Based on the series regenerative brake, a braking force decoupling control scheme without pressure sensor is proposed. First, a dynamic model of vacuum booster is established to calculate the desired brake pedal feeling in real time. Then, a sliding mode observer is used to estimate the load torque of the E-booster so that the expensive pressure sensors are eliminated. Finally, a sliding mode controller is developed to work with a robust threshold–controlled anti-lock brake system hydraulic control unit adjusting the pedal feeling and the wheel cylinder pressure simultaneously. Simulations and experiments were conducted in MATLAB/SIMULINK and on a test bench, respectively. The results show that the tracking ability of wheel cylinder pressure and quality of braking pedal feeling in different conditions are both good, providing a practical method to realize fully series regenerative brake.

Résumé :
The purpose of this study was to assess patient perceptions of the impact of pancreas transplantation on various aspects of life, as well as perceptions of the benefits of and concerns with the procedure. All surviving adult patients who had received a pancreas transplant at a midwestern hospital and were at least 1 year posttransplant at the time of the study (N=138) were sent a self-report questionnaire that included demographic data, questions about life satisfaction, quality of life, symptoms, and health impact. Patients with pancreas graft function reported less pain with healthcare treatment, fewer episodes of feeling physically ill, fewer dietary restrictions, less interference with family life, fewer health limitations in interpersonal relationships and leisure activities, and feeling good about themselves compared with those without graft function. A majority of patients with functioning grafts cited the following benefits: freedom from insulin reactions, normal blood sugars, freedom from insulin injections, freedom from a specialized diet, decreased chance of amputation, feeling better physically, more feelings of hope for the future, and more freedom and control over life. Major concerns posttransplant included side effects and the expense of immunosuppressive medications.

Résumé :
Policies such as America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response Alerts, safe haven laws, Megan’s law, and three-strikes laws have provided the public with a feeling of safety and security. However, research has provided evidence that disputes their effectiveness. These types of laws and policies have become known as “crime control theater” (CCT) because they appear to be effective, serve the public’s best interests, and provide a crime control purpose but are largely ineffective and have unintended negative consequences. Using self-affirmation and emotion theory, this study examines potential explanations as to why individuals might support CCT policies. It also investigates whether support differs based on relevant characteristics (e.g., gender, sample type, and preexisting beliefs about policy effectiveness). Results suggest that females and Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) workers tend to support CCT policies more than males and college students. Further, the relationship between gender and support was mediated by anticipatory guilt, and this effect was stronger for individuals who did not believe in the effectiveness of the policy. Results suggest that individuals who believe the policy is effective will support it more than those who do not, regardless of their anticipated guilt. In contrast, those who doubt the policy only support it if they anticipate feeling guilty; this effect is stronger for women. Results can help explain why people support policies that are largely ineffective and suggest that relevance to the issue can help explain why some groups are more supportive than others.

Résumé :
Background: Marital infidelity damages marriage and increases the tensions between couples. The present study aims to evaluate the effect of group narrative therapy on feeling of inferiority and attachment styles in married women experienced marital infidelity. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest/posttest design using a control group. The study population consists of all women experienced marital infidelity referred to Peidayesh Counseling Center in Mashhad, Iran. Of these, 40 eligible women were selected using a convenience sampling method and assigned into intervention (n=20) and control (n=20) groups. Data collection tools were Hazan and Shaver (1986)’s Adult Attachment Questionnaire and Eysenck (1988)’s Inferiority Questionnaire. Group narrative therapy was performed in the intervention group at 7 sessions while the control group did not receive any intervention. Data analysis was performed by univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance in SPSS software, v. 22. Results: Group narrative therapy had significant effects on feeling of inferiority and all three secure, avoidant and ambivalent attachment styles (P=0.001). Conclusion: Group narrative therapy can reduce feelings of inferiority and avoidant and ambivalent attachments and increase secure attachment in women experienced marital infidelity. This method can be used to improve psychological problems of these women.

Résumé :
Feeling of Rightness (FOR) is a metacognitive experience accompanying people's intuitive answers that predicts the probability of subsequently changing answers (Thompson, Prowse Turner, & Pennycook, 2011). Previous research suggested FOR judgments are influenced by cues such as fluency, i.e., the ease with which an answer comes to mind. In the current paper, we examine the relationship between FOR, fluency, and answer changes; in particular, we were interested in whether answer fluency drives the effect of FOR on subsequent behaviours pertaining to answer changes. Reasoners (N = 64) in each of four experiments were asked to determine the validity of 32 syllogisms that consisted of single-model and multiple-model problems. In addition, each problem was randomly paired with a question containing either a high anchor value (80% or 90%) or a low anchor value (10% or 20%). In the first two experiments, reasoners then provided a FOR rating on a scale from 0 to 100 and indicated whether they would like to attempt to re-answer the question. The last two experiments served as the control experiments in which the FOR judgements were removed. The anchoring manipulation affected FOR judgments but not re-answer choices; it also did not affect answer fluency. Thus influencing FOR without affecting answer fluency had no effect on people's subsequent re-answer choices. In contrast, fluency was a reliable predictor of both FOR and re-answer choices. That is, when answers came to mind slowly, FORs were lower and people were more likely to choose to re-answer the problems. Thus, fluency appears to mediate the relationship between FOR and re-answer choices.

Résumé :
This study examined the relationship between self-efficacy, exercise intensity, and feeling states in a sedentary population during and following an acute bout of exercise. Sixty sedentary participants were randomly assigned to either a moderate-intensity (45-50% age predicted Heart Rate Reserve; HRR), high-intensity exercise (70-75% HRR) group, or a no-exercise attention control group. Participants in both exercise groups experienced changes in feeling states across the course of the exercise bout. The moderate-intensity group reported more positive and fewer negative feeling states both during and after exercise than the high-intensity group. Participants in both exercise conditions were significantly more positively engaged than the attention-control group postexercise. Consistent with social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986, 1997), the reciprocal determined relationship between self-efficacy and feeling states was found to be strongest in the high intensity exercise condition.
