Background:Despite earlier diagnosis and improved management of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs), a work participation gap remains when compared to the general population. To bridge this work participation gap, EULAR’s current strategy states that ‘by 2023, EULAR’s activities and related advocacy will have increased participation in work by people with RMDs’. To achieve this goal, guidance is needed how to support people with RMDs to remain in paid work or (re)-enter the labour force. Objectives:To develop Points to Consider (PtC) when supporting people with RMD to participate in healthy and sustainable paid work. Methods:An international expert group, established by Eular in 2019, convened twice to agree on a protocol for the development of PtC. EULAR’s standard operating procedures were followed. The group (a) defined the target audience, (b) identified areas from which knowledge should be derived to enable formulation of the PtC, (c) agreed on a strategy to collect evidence, (d) established an international taskforce to formulate and agree on the PtC, and (e) proposed an implementation plan. Results:The target audience are professionals involved in clinical care for patients with RMDs as well as their organisations, persons with RMDs and their organisations, and administrators responsible for healthcare and work policies. Six knowledge areas are identified (Table). Depending on the specific knowledge area, strategies for collecting evidence comprise synthesis of published and grey literature, surveys among various organisations and collection of case studies from employers. Whenever evidence in RMDs is limited, evidence from other chronic diseases will be sought. The international taskforce includes experts from different disciplines in rheumatology (one in other chronic diseases), EU policy makers, and representatives of PARE, HCP, EULAR Public Affairs and EMEUNET. As part of the implementation, close cooperation with national professional and patients societies is planned. Additionally, results will be included in EULAR‘s activities at the EU policy level.Table 1.Knowledge areas and strategy to retrieve evidenceIn persons with RMDs:Sources of evidence1Is work relevant for the clinical outcome of diseaseLR; Review of managament recommendations and Care Standards2What are barriers and facilitators to enter or stay in the labor forceSLR3What is the effectiveness of interventions to enter or stay in the labor forceSLR; Survey among professional and patient organisations4Which social security systems are more effective when entering or staying in the labor forceLR5How does disease influence the cycle of workSLR; Grey literature6What (not) to do by employers to let patients enter or stay in the work forceSLR; Survey among large companies; case studiesLR: Literature review; SLR: Systematic literature reviewConclusion:The proposed initiative to develop PtC should ultimately result in improvement of healthy and sustainable labor force participation of people with RMDs.Disclosure of Interests:Annelies Boonen Grant/research support from: Abbvie, Suzanne Verstappen: None declared, Maarten Butink: None declared, Casper Webers: None declared, Neil Betteridge: None declared, Tanja Stamm: None declared, Dieter Wiek: None declared, Anthony Woolf: None declared, Gerd Rüdiger Burmester: None declared, Hans Bijlsma: None declared

Background:The EULAR-ACR 2019 (EULAR19) classification criteria for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) were developed to improve the sensitivity and specificity of previous criteria. Notably, both the EULAR19 and existing SLICC-SLE 2012 (SLICC12) criteria can classify patients as having SLE by the presence of immunology and haematological abnormalities in the absence of any signs or symptoms. Objectives:To validate the EULAR19 criteria, with comparison to existing criteria, in a large cohort of patients with an established systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease (SARD).Methods:We recruited 227 adult patients who were ANA positive with ≥1 clinical feature suggestive of a SARD, from three hospitals in the North West of England. Clinician diagnosis was used as gold standard; we then applied the EULAR19, SLICC12 and the ACR-SLE 1997 (ACR97) criteria. Results:Of the 227 patients recruited, by clinician diagnosis, 89 patients (36%) had SLE, 43 (17%) primary Sjögren’s (pSS), 62 (25%) undifferentiated CTD (UCTD), 25 (10%) systemic sclerosis (SSc) and 8 (3%) an inflammatory myositis. The characteristics of these patients and the breakdown of the EULAR19 criteria are outlined in figure 1.Figure 1.Baseline characteristics and classification criteria compared across five SARD diagnoses. The sensitivity and specificity of the EULAR19 is similar to ACR97 (sensitivity 84% (95% CI 75-91%) vs. 87% (95% CI 78-93%) and specificity 78% (95% CI 70-84%) vs. 76% (95% CI 68-83%) respectively). The SLICC12 criteria by contrast are more sensitive (94% (95% CI 87-98%)) and less specific (61% (95% CI 52-69%)) in this cohort.Figure 2 illustrates patients with a clinician diagnosis of SLE or UCTD who meet each of the classification criteria. Of the 89 patients with a clinician diagnosis of SLE, 39 (44%) patients would have sufficient points to meet EULAR19 criteria on blood test results alone in the absence of clinical symptoms. Four pSS patients and 4 UCTD patients would also meet EULAR19 criteria from positive blood results alone.Figure 2.Venn diagrams illustrating patients with SLE and UCTD who meet the EULAR19, ACR97 and SLICC12 classification criteria. No criteria refers to the patients not meeting any of the three SLE classification criteria. Conclusion:These results suggest that the EULAR19 criteria perform comparably to the ACR97 criteria when applied to an established cohort of SARDs. Similar to SLICC12, it is possible to classify patients as having SLE using the EULAR19 criteria by haematological and other laboratory tests. To what extent haematological abnormalities can be potentially used as the sole ‘clinical criteria’ needs consideration.SLE n=89pSS n=43UCTD n=62SSc n=25Myositis n=8Female N (%)82 (92)42 (98)53 (85)24 (96)8 (100)Age, mean (SD) /years44 (13)52 (12)47 (13)60 (9)53 (7)Disease duration, mean (SD) /years12 (10)6 (5)5 (7)9 (11)3 (3)SLE classification criteriaEULAR SLE 2019, N (%)75 (84)10 (23)20 (32)1 (4)0ACR SLE 1997, N (%)77 (87)9 (21)21 (34)2 (8)1 (13)SLICC SLE 2012, N (%)84 (94)15 (35)33 (53)4 (16)2 (25)EULAR-ACR 2019 criteriaConstitutional, N (%)10 (11)2 (5)1 (2)01 (13)Neuropsychiatric, N (%)3 (3)01 (2)1 (4)0Mucocutaneous, N (%)71 (80)13 (30)27 (44)2 (8)2 (25)Serosal, N (%)13 (15)1 (2)2 (3)00Musculoskeletal, N (%)52 (58)14 (33)22 (35)3 (12)3 (38)Renal, N (%)30 (34)001 (4)0Haematological, N (%)44 (49)12 (28)10 (16)3 (12)0Antiphospholipid antibodies, N (%)43 (48)7 (16)17 (27)4 (16)0Low complement, N (%)48 (54)10 (23)10 (16)3 (12)1 (13)Anti-Sm, N (%)19 (21)2 (5)4 (6)1 (4)0Anti-dsDNA, N (%)50 (56)8 (19)12 (19)01 (13)Disclosure of Interests:Sarah Dyball: None declared, John Reynolds: None declared, Eoghan McCarthy: None declared, Sahena Haque: None declared, Ariane Herrick: None declared, Hector Chinoy: None declared, Ellen Bruce: None declared, Ben Parker Grant/research support from: GSK and Sanofi Genzyme, Consultant of: GSK, AstraZenaca, UCV, Abbvie, Pfizer, BMS, Celltrion, Ian N. Résumé :
Literacy for the Americas was an audiovisual educational program implemented in Mexico and other Latin American countries in the early 1940s by the Office of Inter-American Affairs (OIAA). Walt Disney Studios made four short films that were designed to teach illiterate residents of Latin Americahow to read and write. In Mexico, this project was initially backed by the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) under Jaime Torres Bodet, who appointed Eulalia Guzmán to be the SEP’s representative and thus to support the program. Walt Disney asked her to work out a pedagogical proposal for the educational films. This article analyzes the proposal, the development and production of these shorts, and their reception in Mexico. It foregrounds Guzmán’s criticisms of these educational materials, which led the OIAA representatives to withdraw them from circulation.

Résumé :
This paper presents a revision of the species Eulasia genei Truqui, 1848. A total of 773 specimens, including all type series of the involved taxa, were examined. Nominal species currently in synonymy with E. genei are discussed. All the current synonyms proved to be wrongly attributed, and the following new synonyms are proposed: Eulasia pretiosa Truqui, 1848 = E. genei chaifensis (Reitter, 1890) = E. japhoensis (Petrovitz, 1972). Eulasia hybrida agricola (Reitter, 1890) is no longer considered a synonym of E. genei Truqui and Amphicoma genei ab. nobilissima Balthasar, 1929 is an unavailable name. Eulasia rittneri n. sp., a species close to and parapatric to E. genei, is described and illustrated. The diagnostic characters are discussed in relation to their discriminating value, with special consideration for the morphology of the aedeagus. A technique for observing the volumetric shape of the endophallus has been modified and used for the first time as such for the study of Scarabaeoidea. On the basis of the large number of specimens gathered, the distribution range of both species is defined and notes on their ecology and phenology are presented.

Résumé :
In recent decades the butterfly Adelpha bredowii (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae), known in the USA as the California Sister, has been considered to be a polytypic array of taxa, composed of two, three or four subspecies. The most recent review of the genus (Willmott 2003a) recognized three: A. b. bredowii, A. b. eulalia (= guatemalensis) and A. b. californica. We used mitochondrial (COII) and nuclear (Tpi) DNA sequence data, coupled with a reevaluation of traditional morphological characters, to determine the phylogenetic relationships between members of the A. bredowii complex, and to elucidate their taxonomic status. Phylogenetic analysis of molecular data corroborated the monophyly of each of the three subspecies (sensu Willmott), with the following topology: (bredowii + (eulalia + californica)). Average levels of COII variation among these taxa were much greater than the average variation within each taxon (3.4% vs. 0.2%, respectively). There were no shared alleles among these taxa, even from localities where two lineages (bredowii and eulalia) were collected in exact sympatry and synchrony. The degree of genetic divergence, reciprocal monophyly, and absence of shared alleles between taxa, coupled with unique morphological and distributional attributes of each, strongly suggest that A. bredowii, A. eulalia and A. californica are all species-level taxa, as they are treated herein (rev. stat.). Adelpha bredowii is endemic to western, central and southern Mexico: the syntype female (herein designated Lectotype) most likely originated near Oaxaca City, Oaxaca. Adelpha eulalia occurs from Guatemala, through much of Mexico, to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, United States (as permanent residents; further north as vagrants), and occurs in exact sympatry with A. bredowii at least in Oaxaca, Mexico, but potentially in much of western and southwestern Mexico. The syntype female of eulalia (herein designated Lectotype) most likely originated from south-central Mexico. Adelpha californica is allopatric with respect to the other two species, occurring in northern Baja California, much of California, far western Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Our results highlight the continuous need for systematic scrutiny of familiar taxa, and raise the prospect that the genus Adelpha may be comprised of many more hidden species.

A species of Eulalia, keying out as E. pusilla Örsted, 1843 in Fauvel (1923) and Hartmann-Schröder (1971), was collected at Plymouth in 1986. This species does not however agree with the original description, nor does it occur in the Danish waters from where E. pusilla was first described. The confusion apparently stems from Quatrefages (1865) and Saint-Joseph (1888) who both incorrectly applied Örsted's name to this more southerly species, the latter author providing the first accurate description.

Résumé :
Objectives:To develop evidence-based EULAR recommendations for cardiovascular (CV) risk management in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA).Methods:A multidisciplinary expert committee was convened as a task force of the EULAR Standing Committee for Clinical Affairs (ESCCA), comprising 18 members including rheumatologists, cardiologists, internists and epidemiologists, representing nine European countries. Problem areas and related keywords for systematic literature research were identified. A systematic literature research was performed using MedLine, Embase and the Cochrane library through to May 2008. Based on this literature review and in accordance with the EULAR’s “standardised operating procedures”, the multidisciplinary steering committee formulated evidence-based and expert opinion-based recommendations for CV risk screening and management in patients with inflammatory arthritis. Results:Annual CV risk assessment using national guidelines is recommended for all patients with RA and should be considered for all patients with AS and PsA. Any CV risk factors identified should be managed according to local guidelines. If no local guidelines are available, CV risk management should be carried out according to the SCORE function. In addition to appropriate CV risk management, aggressive suppression of the inflammatory process is recommended to further lower the CV risk. Conclusions:Ten recommendations were made for CV risk management in patients with RA, AS and PsA. The strength of the recommendations differed between RA on the one hand, and AS and PsA, on the other, as evidence for an increased CV risk is most compelling for RA.

Résumé :
Eulaema (Eulaema) quadragintanovem sp. n., a species similar to Eulaema (E.) seabrai Moure, 1960 and Eulaema (E.)helvola Moure, 2003, is described from ‘Serra do Baturité’ and ‘Parque Nacional de Ubajara’, state of Ceará, northeasternBrazil. This species seems to be restricted to ‘brejos de altitude’—Atlantic Forest physiognomies at the top of mountainsin northeastern Brazil—in the state of Ceará. Since these forested areas are rapidly disappearing, it is possible that in thenear future no suitable habitat will be left for this species. The recent record of Eulaema bombiformis (Packard, 1869) inCeará is also discussed. Six species of Eulaema (Eulaema) are now known to occur in eastern Brazil and an updated identification key for them is provided.

Résumé :
Abstract Twenty six specimens of the polychaete Eulalia picta were found in fine-grained sand tubes. Material was collected in the Antarctic fjord, Admiralty Bay at the depth of about 100 m. The comparison of tube sediment with the sediment composition at the collection site demonstrated that tubes were created with a high degree of particle selection. Our findings might suggest presence of the tube-building behavior in E. picta or show that this species is a highly specialized predator crawling into the tubes of other sessile polychaetes and uses their tubes as protective cases.

Résumé :
Recent insights in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) necessitated updating the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) RA management recommendations. A large international Task Force based decisions on evidence from 3 systematic literature reviews, developing 4 overarching principles and 12 recommendations (vs 3 and 14, respectively, in 2013). The recommendations address conventional synthetic (cs) disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) (methotrexate (MTX), leflunomide, sulfasalazine); glucocorticoids (GC); biological (b) DMARDs (tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-inhibitors (adalimumab, certolizumab pegol, etanercept, golimumab, infliximab), abatacept, rituximab, tocilizumab, clazakizumab, sarilumab and sirukumab and biosimilar (bs) DMARDs) and targeted synthetic (ts) DMARDs (Janus kinase (Jak) inhibitors tofacitinib, baricitinib). Monotherapy, combination therapy, treatment strategies (treat-to-target) and the targets of sustained clinical remission (as defined by the American College of Rheumatology-(ACR)-EULAR Boolean or index criteria) or low disease activity are discussed. Cost aspects were taken into consideration. As first strategy, the Task Force recommends MTX (rapid escalation to 25 mg/week) plus short-term GC, aiming at >50% improvement within 3 and target attainment within 6 months. If this fails stratification is recommended. Without unfavourable prognostic markers, switching to—or adding—another csDMARDs (plus short-term GC) is suggested. In the presence of unfavourable prognostic markers (autoantibodies, high disease activity, early erosions, failure of 2 csDMARDs), any bDMARD (current practice) or Jak-inhibitor should be added to the csDMARD. If this fails, any other bDMARD or tsDMARD is recommended. If a patient is in sustained remission, bDMARDs can be tapered. For each recommendation, levels of evidence and Task Force agreement are provided, both mostly very high. These recommendations intend informing rheumatologists, patients, national rheumatology societies, hospital officials, social security agencies and regulators about EULAR's most recent consensus on the management of RA, aimed at attaining best outcomes with current therapies.

Eulaema (Apeulaema) felipei sp. n., a species extremely similar to the Amazonian Eulaema (Apeulaema) mocsaryi (Friese, 1899), is described from Murici (state of Alagoas, northeastern Brazil). This species seems to be restricted to a single patch of Atlantic Forest at the ‘Estação Ecológica de Murici’. Although this preserve is supposedly protected by law, the small area (less than 3,000 ha) where this bee occurs is entirely surrounded by pastures and sugar cane plantations, and anthropic pressure is strikingly high in the region. Several other endemic animal and plant species are known from the same area. Eulaema felipei sp. n. is considered as Critically Endangered according to IUCN criteria. An updated identification key for all the species of Eulaema (Apeulaema) Moure, 1950 is also provided.
