Résumé :
This paper presents a nonintrusive method for estimating the parameters of an Induction Motor (IM) without the need for the conventional no-load and locked rotor tests. The method is based on a relatively new swarm-based algorithm called the Chicken Swarm Optimization (CSO). Two different equivalent circuits implementations have been considered for the parameter estimation scheme (one with parallel and the other with series magnetization circuit). The proposed parameter estimation method was validated experimentally on a standard 7.5 kW induction motor and the results were compared to those obtained using the IEEE Std. 112 reduced voltage impedance test method 3. The proposed CSO optimization method gave accurate estimates of the IM equivalent circuit parameters with maximum absolute errors of 5.4618% and 0.9285% for the parallel and series equivalent circuits representations respectively when compared to the IEEE Std. 112 results. However, standard deviation results in terms of the magnetization branch parameters, suggest that the series equivalent circuit model gives more repeatable results when compared to the parallel equivalent circuit. Résumé :
This article reviews and appraises the dc lumped-parameter equivalent circuit models that have been proposed so far for representing some types of solar cells that can exhibit under certain circumstances a detrimental S-shaped concave deformation within the energy-producing fourth quadrant of their illuminated I-V characteristics. We first present a very succinct recollection of lumped-parameter equivalent circuits that are commonly used to model conventional solar cells in general. We then chronologically present and discuss lumped-parameter equivalent sub-circuits that, combined with conventional solar cell equivalent circuits, are used to specifically represent the undesired S-shaped behaviour. The mathematically descriptive equations of each complete equivalent circuit are also examined, and closed form solutions for the terminal current and voltage as explicit functions of each other are presented and discussed whenever available. While comparing the most salient features and explaining the practical advantages and disadvantages of such equivalent circuit models, we offer some comments on possible directions for further improvement.

Résumé :
Abstract Equivalent circuits are often the first choice for the modeling of piezoelectric systems, as they allow for the consideration of the complete electro-mechanical system with one or even more modes. The parameters of the equivalent circuit model are identified by a measured or simulated frequency response. In this contribution a method for a direct modal condensation of the equivalent parameters for arbitrary FE structures and loads is described and discussed. First the proposed method is demonstrated for a continuous piezoelectric rod and then applied to discrete finite element models. The derived equivalent circuit has an identical appearance to the classical solution, but additionally allows arbitrarily load conditions. Furthermore, the structure of the derived equivalent circuit depends on whether short- or open-circuited modes are used for the modal expansion. The influence of truncated modes is discussed utilizing residual terms, leading to a better understanding of the circuit parameters. Additionally the model based approaches in the third part an experimental parameter identification procedure for many modes is presented as well. The influence of the load and the quality of the model order reduction are discussed for piezoelectric rods. The methods are demonstrated for a base excited energy harvesting system an ultrasonic grubber.

Résumé :
A new method for identification of motor equivalent circuit parameters is proposed based on motor nameplate and particle swarm optimization (PSO). That is effective solution to the present problems of motor equivalent circuit parameters identification method. An accurate motor equivalent circuit is built by introducing an equivalent stray-loss resistance, mechanical loss, and slip loss of ring brushes contact for wound motor. The identification accuracy of motor equivalent circuit parameters is improved. An identification optimization model of equivalent circuit is established based on motor nameplate parameters and motor equivalent circuit’s calculating parameters. With PSO for solving optimization model is achieved a higher probability optimization goals. Finally, a group of equivalent circuit parameters to achieve the objective function value is randomly selected. The motor electrical parameters is calculated at different speeds with the equivalent circuit identified parameters and compared with the measured values. Experimental results demonstrate the proposed parameter identification method based on motor nameplate parameters and combining PSO optimization method is effective.

Résumé :
The conventional methods of parameter estimation in transformers, such as the open-circuit and short-circuit tests, are not always available, especially when the transformer is already in operation and its disconnection is impossible. Therefore, alternative (non-interruptive) methods of parameter estimation have become of great importance. In this work, no-interruption, transformer equivalent circuit parameter estimation is presented using the following metaheuristic optimization methods: the genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm optimization (PSO) and the gravitational search algorithm (GSA). These algorithms provide a maximum average error of 12%, which is twice as better as results found in the literature for estimation of the equivalent circuit parameters in transformers at a frequency of 50 Hz. This demonstrates that the proposed GA, PSO and GSA metaheuristic optimization methods can be applied to estimate the equivalent circuit parameters of single-phase distribution and power transformers with a reasonable degree of accuracy.

Résumé :
In order to improve the battery management system performance and enhance the adaptability of the system, a fractional order equivalent circuit model of lithium-ion battery based on electrochemical test was established. The parameters of the fractional order equivalent circuit model are identified by the least squares parameter identification method. The least squares parameter identification method needs to rely on the harsh test conditions of the laboratory, and the parameter identification result is static; it cannot adapt to the characteristics of the lithium battery under dynamic conditions. Taking into account the dynamic changes of lithium batteries, a parameter adaptive online estimation algorithm for fractional equivalent circuit model is proposed. Based on the theory of fractional order calculus and indirect Lyapunov method, the stability and convergence of the estimator are analyzed. Finally, simulation experiments show that this method can continuously estimate the parameters of the fractional order equivalent circuit under UDDS conditions.

Résumé :
Because of special structure for the Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM) and complex magnetic field coupling of different pole pairs, general parameter calculation and experiment methods are not accurate and fit for the BDFM. A parameter calculation method of the equivalent circuit for the BDFM based on the genetic algorithm (GA) is presented in this paper. The parameters of the equivalent circuit are considered as a group of unknown variables to solve the mathematical equation in different operating conditions. The difference between calculated and measured values is taken as a target function to be minimized through optimizing the parameters of the equivalent circuit by using the GA. The calculated results show that the method is valid to solve the related problems and it is suitable to be applied in the parameter calculation for the BDFM.

Résumé :
This article presents a modelling methodology for a cantilevered energy harvester with partial piezoelectric coverage and shunted to practical power conditioning interface circuits. First, the distributed parameter model of the partially covered piezoelectric energy harvester is developed and the associated analytical solution is derived. Subsequently, the single-degree-of-freedom representation model is developed and the explicit expressions of equivalent lumped parameters are derived by taking the static deflection as the approximated fundamental vibration mode. Based on the comparison with the single-mode expression of the distributed parameter model, a correction factor is proposed to improve the accuracy of the single-degree-of-freedom model. The results of both the distributed parameter and the corrected single-degree-of-freedom models are compared. The accuracy of the corrected single-degree-of-freedom representation model is verified against the analytical and the finite element models. Finally, practical interface circuits including the standard energy harvesting circuit and the parallel synchronized switch harvesting on inductor circuit are considered. A modified equivalent impedance modelling method is proposed for the analysis of the standard energy harvesting and parallel synchronized switch harvesting on inductor circuits. The results of the modified equivalent impedance modelling method are verified against the existing method in the literature.

Résumé :
This paper proposes a parameter identification method for a PEM electrolyzer electrical equivalent circuit for pulse electrolysis. Since general water electrolysis mainly uses DC currents, identifying equivalent circuit parameters using electrical characteristics mostly ignores the operation frequency and unnecessarily adheres to the secondary RC model. However, looking at the Nyquist plot of the PEM electrolyzer, it can be confirmed that identifying the operational frequency is necessary, and the secondary RC model correction is essential. Therefore, the proposed method confirms the necessity of reconstructing an electrical equivalent circuit with a primary RC model by analyzing the transient cell voltage using step current inputs and calculating an appropriate operating frequency by identifying the parameters of the reconstructed equivalent circuit. To verify the proposed parameter identification method, a simulation was constructed from the raw test data of a 400 W commercial PEM electrolyzer. In addition, the hydrogen production amount was compared to DC using a pulse electrolysis experiment at the operating frequency obtained by the proposed method.

Résumé :
Correct extraction of the equivalent circuit model parameters of photovoltaic modules is of great significance for power prediction, fault diagnosis, and system optimization of photovoltaic power generation systems. Although there are many methods developed to extract the equivalent circuit model parameters of the photovoltaic module, it is still challenging to ensure the stability and operational efficiency of the extract method. In order to effectively extract the parameters of photovoltaic modules, this paper proposes a hybrid algorithm combining analytical methods and differential evolution algorithms for the extraction parameters of PV module. Firstly, the analytical method is applied to simplify the equivalent circuit model and improve the efficiency of the algorithm. Then, the adaptive algorithm is used to adjust the parameters of the differential evolution algorithm. Through the algorithm proposed in this paper, the parameters of the equivalent circuit model of the photovoltaic module can be extracted by the open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, and maximum power point current and voltage provided by the manufacturer. The proposed method is applied to the extraction of the parameters of the dual-diode equivalent circuit model of different types of photovoltaic modules. The reliability and computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm are verified by comparison and analysis.

Résumé :
The feasibility of applying the method of two measurements in determining the parameters of equivalent circuits of electrical network elements for the highest harmonic components is analyzed. Experiments were carried out using a MATLAB Simulink model of the common coupling point that includes a distorting load in the form of a three-phase rectifier, a nondistorting linear load and a generalized power system without distortion sources. The parameters of an equivalent circuit in the form of active bipoles, consisting of current distortion and conductivity sources, were determined using the method of two measurements of mode parameters. Modes with variations in the active and reactive power of the studied distorting load and loads in the external electrical network were considered. The results of determining the equivalent circuit parameters under 20% and more variations in the power loading were established to be unstable (400% dispersion of actual values). Therefore, these parameter values appear to be unreliable due to their dependence on the value of external load power. At the same time, the simulation of random variations in loading parameters within 10% of the initial value allowed the parameters of an equivalent circuit to be correctly determined. It was shown that the equivalent circuit of a nondistorting linear load consists solely of conductivity, while the equivalent circuit of a distorting load can contain non-zero conductivity on the considered harmonic component. Thus, according to the performed study, the method of two measurements produces the results acceptable in terms of accuracy (deviation from actual values of less than 1%) not at a single significant variation in the mode parameters, but during a continuous monitoring of small natural variations in the parameters of the electric power system. The results obtained can be used when solving the problem of online assessing the effect of loads on the quality of electricity, since the initial data for this problem include the equivalent circuit parameters.

In recent years, some researchers have proposed some equivalent circuit models to study the relationship between the equivalent circuit and the characteristic quantity of return voltage. However, seldom shows how the mathematical model of equivalent circuit parameters estimated is established and these parameters are estimated. The initial slope of return voltage is of great significance to identify the parameters of equivalent circuit based on linear dielectric response theory. Therefore, this paper establishes a mathematical model with the data of initial slope of return voltage for estimating its parameter, and then, a hybrid genetic algorithm is used for solving the problem. The result shows that the model established is feasible and effective.

Internal resistance is one of the important parameters in the Li-Ion battery. This paper identifies it using two different methods: electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and parameter estimation based on equivalent circuit model (ECM). Comparing internal resistance, the conventional parameter estimation method yields a different value than EIS. Therefore, a hysteresis-free parameter identification method based on ECM is proposed. The proposed technique separates hysteresis resistance from the effective resistance. It precisely estimated actual internal resistance, which matches the internal resistance obtained from EIS. In addition, state of charge, open circuit voltage, and different internal equivalent circuit components were identified. The least square method was used to identify the parameters based on ECM. A parameter extraction algorithm to interpret impedance spectrum obtained from the EIS. The algorithm is based on the properties of Nyquist plot, phasor algebra, and resonances. Abstract Equivalent circuit method is the most widely used methodology in dynamic modeling of lithium-ion battery. An equivalent circuit with second-order RC network is used to model lithium-ion battery, and a limited memory recursive least square with variable forgetting factor (VFF-LMRLS) is proposed to identify the model parameters in this paper. Firstly, based on the current and voltage data measured from the battery cyclic discharging experiment, the VFF-LMRLS algorithm is used to identify the time-varying parameters of equivalent circuit model. Then, the model verification system is constructed by taking the average value of the identification results in the stable stage as the component parameter value of the equivalent circuit. Finally, through the comparative experiment and analysis with the variable forgetting factor RLS (VFFRLS), it is verified that the terminal voltage error of the proposed method is smaller, indicating that the identified model parameters are closer to the actual parameters.

Résumé :
In this study, the most vital characteristic properties of induction motor, motor starting, maximum and nominal torque are analyzed for what are affected. For the analysis of torque, L type, T type and IEEE 112 equivalent circuit model is employed. Torque change is investigated with the help of codes developed in MATLAB to be used in electrical machines course. First, the slip-moment characteristic curve of the induction motor is divided into three working zones and it was determined which equivalent circuit model gave the best results in these study zones. Later, such parameters as stator and rotor resistance, stator and rotor reactance, magnetization reactance, core resistance and slip are researched for how torque values are affected from. The obtained values for each of the three equivalent circuit models are given and compared with experimental results. 50 HP squirrel cage induction motor parameters are used in analysis. In the analysis, the most influential parameters on the starting torque are found as rotor resistance and stator and rotor reactance. Change of other parameters’ impact ratio depending upon right proportion and inverse proportion is observed. When nominal torque variations are investigated, again rotor resistance is the most influential parameter and by selecting proper factor effecting rotor resistance during design, the result of acquiring desired rotor resistance is obtained. When the maximum torque variations are examined, it appears that the stator and rotor reactance values are effective. Starting, maximum and nominal torque expressions change with square of voltage alters the effect on them a lot. Therefore, triangle or star connection importance arises during machine design.

Résumé :
An analytical algorithm is proposed to extract model parameters in a single-diode lumped-parameter equivalent circuit of solar cells. In the calculation process, six relevant factors in the datasheet are necessary to establish a set of transcendental equations. This set of equations is analyzed and solved to acquire accurate values for the model parameters, by retaining equation items with important physical significance. Furthermore, based on simulations and reconstruction experiments, verifications show the accuracy and universality of the algorithm. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can be regarded as a valid solution for estimating the model parameters of a single-diode lumped-parameter circuit of solar cells.

Résumé :
THE PURPOSE. Conduct a study to improve the reliability of forecasting the magnitude of power consumption and power losses at an industrial enterprise.METHODS. Methods are used to determine and predict the parameters of consumption and losses of electricity at industrial facilities.RESULTS. To clarify the magnitude of electricity losses, it is proposed to use coefficients that take into account the type of load curves and show the ratio of the values of the sum of the squares of currents (powers) of the variable load curve and the values of the sum of average currents (powers), that is. the ratio of power losses during load operation according to variable and uniform schedules (Kgraph), as well as a coefficient that takes into account the topology of the circuit (Ktop). The study of radial and main circuits of networks was carried out and the losses of electricity were determined using the proposed coefficients. The values of equivalent resistances of shop circuits of networks of various topologies are calculated. The operational data of the section of the workshop network are given. It was revealed that with a constant technological process, an increase in the equivalent resistance of the network circuit is due to an increase in the resistance of the contacts of switching devices installed on the lines. The value of the estimated supply of electricity was determined using the parameter of the average value of the equivalent resistance. At the same time, the error in calculating the estimated supply in relation to the actual annual supply of electricity amounted to 2,63%. According to the retrospective values of the average equivalent resistance of the circuit, it is possible to determine the predicted value of this parameter using the average value of the coefficient of change in the equivalent resistance. These characteristics of the scheme are recommended to be used in the assessment and forecasting of losses and the estimated supply of electricity, which will increase the reliability of the predicted parameters for industrial facilities.

Résumé :
With the popularity of electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries as a power source are an important part of electric vehicles, and online identification of equivalent circuit model parameters of a lithium-ion battery has gradually become a focus of research. A second-order RC equivalent circuit model of a lithium-ion battery cell is modeled and analyzed in this paper. An adaptive expression of the variable forgetting factor is constructed. An adaptive forgetting factor recursive least square (AFFRLS) method for online identification of equivalent circuit model parameters is proposed. The equivalent circuit model parameters are identified online on the basis of the dynamic stress testing (DST) experiment. The online voltage prediction of the lithium-ion battery is carried out by using the identified circuit parameters. Taking the measurable actual terminal voltage of a single battery cell as a reference, by comparing the predicted battery terminal voltage with the actual measured terminal voltage, it is shown that the proposed AFFRLS algorithm is superior to the existing forgetting factor recursive least square (FFRLS) and variable forgetting factor recursive least square (VFFRLS) algorithms in accuracy and rapidity, which proves the feasibility and correctness of the proposed parameter identification algorithm.

Résumé :
Purpose. Application of a specially constructed neural network with the task of identifying the parameter substitution scheme in non-invasive monitoring conditions. Methodology. Use of electrical measurement methods by non-invasive monitoring, methods of identification and training of neural networks based on anterior and back propagation error, NARX networks. Findings. The power transformer is an important object of the power system of the electric shop substation. At the same time, frequent transitions from underload to partial overload mode are possible, which creates preconditions for the development of undesirable phenomena in transformers. Monitoring of the power transformer based on control of its substitution scheme, allows to pass to control of its basic parameters irrespective of an operating mode. Non-invasive monitoring works well in the context of the task, because research shows that the parameters of voltage and current, which it operates well reflect the dependence on changes in the parameters of the substitution scheme. Based on T equivalent the substitution scheme can detect and predict changes in parameters substitution schemes according to the parameters of the current and voltage regime flowing in this system. Many neural networks will work out the calculation of electrical and electrotechnical equivalent circuits as a task of identifying the parameters of electrical circuits in static conditions. In the process of identification, the ability of neural networks of different designs to identify one of the substitution scheme parameters, to resist damage was tested, which corrected the value of an unknown parameter. The experiment made it possible to obtain data for comparing the effectiveness of various architectures of neural networks in relation to the real parameters of the equivalent circuit. Concretizing the obtained results, we say that the NARX architecture is able to identify parameters in standard modes for all elements of the substitution circuit, which further opens up opportunities for its improvement in the calculation of nonlinear elements of the transformer when operating in a saturated state. Originality. It is established that the neural boundaries studied in the work are able to determine the parameters of the replacement circuit of a transformer or electric machine in static operating modes, which allows in the future to monitor the state of windings and magnetic circuit according to their values. Practical value. Using a neural network in the monitoring system allows you to get clear values of the equivalent circuit parameters, regardless of the mode, the proposed method significantly reduces the amount of time spent on monitoring the transformer parameters, allows you to control the power level, and, if necessary, reduce the amount of information required for the transformer monitoring.

Résumé :
AbstractANSYS Q3D Extractor tool (AQ3DE), using the quasi-static solvers (method of moments, integral equations and FEMs), is very efficient for computing and simulating two- and three-dimensional electromagnetic field. This simulation is used to extract parameters of interest, such as: resistance (R), conductance (G), self-inductance (L), mutual inductance (M) and capacitance (C). These parameters can be further used to optimize and to obtain automatically the design of a wireless power transfer systems (WPTS). The resulting matrices allow the generation of new matrices for any selected parameters. To complete the analysis, the model which is computed will be exported as an equivalent circuit. In this paper, starting from a given WPTS, using AQ3DE tool, the parameters of interest (R, G, L, M, C) were automatically calculated, and the SPICE equivalent circuit was obtained. The analysis was performed for two different distances between the emitter and the receiver. The electrical circuit theory was used for the system analysis of magnetically coupled coil (MCC) system. Starting from the parameters extracted by the AQ3DE tool, the performance of the WPTS has been analysed both in time and frequency domain.
